Reviews of National Gallery of Art - East Building
We stumbled upon the east building after admiring it's beautiful architecture and design. Once inside, they had on display some of Picasso's early art work. The museum had some really neat and intriguing showpieces. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the two other gallery's but we enjoyed our time here.
The East building might have less collection compared to the West building, but the overall space design and collection are still pretty amazing! This building has the modern and contemporary collections, and there are also some outdoor sculptures, including the rooftop and the side of the entrance. There’s an underground tunnel connecting to the West building, which is also beautifully designed. Overall, we enjoy visiting the East building!
Beautiful building with some really nice art pieces. Actually, I have enjoyed this building of National Gallery more than the other one, as it has nicer layout and wider variety of displayed pieces.
If you are a fan of Picasso, Warhol, or any other 20th century author, it is a must see. Also, there is a nice terrace with a view at the top.
This is a great place to see the best art and styles from around the world. There are many stiffened styles and the guitars are really nice. The food is a tad bit expensive and so is the gift shop stuff but That is expected. And there's white squirrels!
This is the first museum I visited in DC and I really loved my time here. The layout is polished, modern, and classy and the paintings are stunning. Really made this a wonderful Thanksgiving all around!
This is an amazing collection of a wide variety of art, sculptures, and furniture. There are two buildings that are connected underground by a LED light up tunnel with a moving sidewalk. Wear comfortable shoes, it's a lot of walking. But there plenty of benches to rest. Open free to the public.
The east building focuses on contemporary art. It's not massive but it's fairly comprehensive -- my personal favorites included a gallery of Picasso's early works, a small collection of early minimalist pieces by Judd and LeWitt, and Fritsch's giant blue rooster.
The collections are well organized and the building is easy to navigate. The roof area provides an awesome view as well.
Pretty awesome setup and great art pieces! My charger was too big for the plug in the cafe :( but I managed. Make sure to visit the big blue chicken
Incredible museum, as you would expect from a part of the National Gallery of Art. The building has a lot of cool architectural highlights, along with the art. The East Building isn't huge, so it doesn't take a long time to peruse everything. The main building, of course, is gigantic. The cool walkway pictured takes you between both buildings, underground.
The National Gallery of Art is such a treat to visit. As with other galleries on the Mall, it is free to enter. Love the whole thing, but the East Wing is particularly stunning with modern architecture, art and lots of light. Definitely walk and explore both sides. Some amazing works of art to enjoy!
Since 1997, I have been a frequent visitor of National Gallery of Art. My favorite paintings from the Gallery. Permeate collection. Enjoy.
The smaller part of the National Gallery of Art. It has several floors to explore. They have a couple of new exhibits. I found the Women in White to be powerful.
There is so much amazing stuff in here. The Calder room itself is very impressive. Staff are very helpful. Some of my favorites are:
1. Hahn/Cock (2013) by #KatharinaFritsch
2. Genesis (1942) by #Matta
3. The City from Greenwich Village (1922) by #JohnSloan
4. Cape Cod Evening (1939) by #EdwardHopper
5. Both Members of This Club (1909) by #GeorgeBellows
6. Still Life: The Table (1928) by #GeorgesBraque
7. Harlequin Musician (1924) by #PabloPicasso
8. A Boy for Meg (1962) by #AndyWarhol
9. Tulip Car #1 (1966) by #VijaCelmins (a personal favorite)
10. Infinity Nets Yellow (1960) by #YayoiKusama (really amazing technique, it was massive, but zoomed in on the strokes)
awesome!! all the people working were super helpful and knowledgeable, it’s a little tricky to find your way around some parts! the artwork on display is so worth going to see! great for a rainy or cold day!
I came here to see Rothko paints. They have nice collection of Rothko paintings especially those abstract one. It was little hard for me to navigate the museum but the staff there are very nice and helped me.
Incredible gallery with tons to do. I was overwhelmed by how much there was to see, so it will likely take 2 trips to explore the entire east/west sides of the museum. Awesome Cafe on site for if you need a quick bite or coffee as well. One of my favorite museums in DC!
I enjoy the architecture of the open spaces and sculptures. This time I attended a film and it was campy but in a good way, the website is easy to navigate and reserve tickets.
The National Gallery of Art, and its attached Sculpture Garden, is a national art museum in Washington, D.C., 🇺🇸 , located on the National Mall, between 3rd and 9th Streets, at Constitution Avenue NW. Open to the public and free of charge, the museum was privately established in 1937 for the American people by a joint resolution of the United States Congress.
NGA is a jewel in the crown in the Smithsonian institution. I can spend an entire year in this museum studying these masterpieces.
Amazing collection of art. Was lucky to see the Rothko, Newman, Caulder and Pop exhibits.
Seemed a little in transition during this visit with a number of exhibits closed or under maintenance.
Wonderful, you should visit this gallery eith time to be able to apreciate everything, don’t forget the garden!
An amazing, breathtaking experience. See original works by Da Vinci, Van Gough, Rembrandt, Picasso, Monet...the list goes on. Mesmerising and wonderful. A once-in-a-lifetime (if you dont live in Washington!). Go. Put it at the top of your list. The building and design is superb.
Some of the Art is lost on me. Others were great. It's free. Something for everyone. Downstairs has a connection tunnel to either building. Large Cafe downstairs too.
Best place to relax and watch art. There is an underground passage that connects both building with a beautiful artificial waterfall. Definitely a place to go, relax and get some nice coffee
It was great to be back in the gallery - first since the pandemic. Some galleries are under construction. Talk with a docent to make sure you find the pieces you’re looking for (eg. Rembrandt’s section is closed, but key pieces are on the ground floor.)
Also - the waterfall cafe has been upgraded. It’s nice and bright.
Beautiful space. Well placed art. Lower floors are early modern art. As you ascend the time-frames do as well. Highly recommend! Excellent experience A++
Amazing large art installments, art works and sculptures. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I love this museum so much! Both the West and the East building are amazing in their own unique way. Admission is free with reservation (because of COVID, reservation policies may change with time) I totally recommend it!
This is a fun museum for modern art. The giant blue chicken on the roof is a fan favorite. You can see it from the road as you're driving by too. I also like seeing the giant hanging mobile in the main room when you walk in. This building connects with the west building via an underground tunnel that has a cool light feature.
When you live nearby, you forget all the great stuff DC has to offer.
A pure joy to walk through. The building is magnificent. The art wide and diverse (at least in the western tradition). I spent five hours wandering the halls and admiring the paintings and sculptures.
limited exhibits and it breaks my heart that they removed the giant Alexander Calder piece in the middle of building but still has my favorite lavender mist by Pollock and some new contemporary work.
A treasure and excellence of humanity. Powerful feeling manifested in art.
Beautiful fountains inside a nice walking stairway and lots of stairs you feel spacious walking in here. Great collection of Matisse Picasso etc
Favorite museum in all of Washington. Incredible collection of art in a gorgeous setting. It never fails to provide an enjoyable & enlightening experience.
Great museum - rich collection (Modigliani, Picasso, Matisse, many more), free admission, great lighting, convenient location (right on National Mall, 10 minutes walk from Capitol), photography is permitted.
Hours could be a little longer (10 AM to 5 PM isn't much)
My wife is a fan of Rothko.
If you are the same, go to the very top of Tower 1. You won’t be disappointed with all the Rothkos up there.
Comparatively to the East building, the west building is a bit deceptive. But the art collections are still very interesting and the roof terrace gives a nice view of Washington.
Had no idea how good the collection is here. Monet, Matisse, Van Gogh, Renoir are all represented. Even Da Vinci. Plus the buildings are just stunning.
I loved the big blue chicken on the roof. A must see! (Also you can connect to the main gallery underground. Very convenient.)
A newer building that holds more modern art. It doesn’t hold as much as the west building but still hold some great art. It didn’t take me long to see everything but it’s still worth your time.
The Calder exhibit is great for kids. The East building is an easy place to see just a little bit of things easily with children in about an hour or hour and half. There are good open spaces.
One of the most attractive places in DC is The National Gallery of Art. The east building has various modern art exhibitions, such as Magritte, Matisse, and Picasso. Although your members do not like art, you guys enjoy together here, because here is easy to understand. No need knowledge to Art. Must visit the top and meet the blue rooster. On the underground, there is a moving way to The West building.
The Gallery underwent extensive renovations, improvements. Never the same place twice, as they rotate enormous collections.
Nice building. Nice collections. Great fountain.
Always a great and peaceful place to spend time. And usually there's a very worthwhile exhibit.
Great museum - highlight is the Rothko installation, where you can sit with 6 or so pieces in one room. And then visit the blue chicken!
An amazing space with awesome art. This is the east side of the National Gallery and although it has some late works of artists, it focuses mostly on modern art and does it superbly. Also, it had a room full with just Modigliani's paintings. But to me the highlights were the pieces by Andy Warhol, Picasso, Klimt and Kandinsky.
Must see. Spectacular architecture.
This building remains an exceptional place, even after many visits. First the architecture, how 3 inversed trangels have been put together as a huge museum, repeating the triangel in every object: from floortiles, staircases, ceilingstructures etc. This building brings peace in my head.
But also the collection and the exhibitions. This time the impressive collection of Rothko works, on a rotating display. But also the exhibitions of, to me, unknown artists. This time the amazing work Rachel Whiteread till January 13th, 2019. A very well made documentary on here life and work is diplayed also and makes you understand her work.
And all this for free? Wish I lived in the area, just for this reason.
Very beautiful! Lots of work from Italian artists. Nice sculpture garden with an ice rink.
If you need to learning something this is the place
Lovely museum with lots of art, and infrastructure I also find interesting to look at!
The National Gallery of Art-East is open to the public free of charge. Hours posted currently every day 10AM - 5PM. Close to Archives metro, DC Circulator bus stops at the corner, look for the orange Circulator Bus sign.
Beautiful art in both east and west buildings, especially enjoyed the Picassos and van goghs
Incredible gallery, with beautiful paintings and a lot kinds of art.
Shoutout to the employee who saved me from a conversation with an oil baroness. He saw that I was trying to get away and gracefully asked her if she had any questions so I could escape.
Always check the current shows. Visited just some of the current shows in the East and West buildings.
Enjoyed the James Whistler show. Curators gathered many pictures from other museums.
Doubles show featured works by many, many artists and photogs. Warhol, Wegman, Paik works present.
Robert Adams photographed rural Colorado in B&W in the 1960s and 1970s.
Didn't manage to see all the current shows in an afternoon.
Museum is too large to do in a day - be warned!
Beautiful place to visit, need one day to see all the art and exhibitions
Amazing collection. Too many galleries closed at the same time. Hope all open soon.
This is a phenomenal building. Very modern, lots of natural light and open spaces.
Modern art, well I liked Jackson's paintings. Definitely a large variety
It’s being renovated so a lot of it is closed, but the ones that are accessible are still great. The tunnel connecting the two buildings is cool.
You can never go wrong with a good art museum especially the national gallery of art!
It was a beautiful experience in many ways! Thanks to the Smithsonian. 🙌🏼 …
My parents when I was a little kid took me heart and I’ve been visiting ever since. World class and it’s free. You want to go visit here and often.
Love the National Modern Art gallery!! It's free and not usually super busy. Relaxing, lovely Cafe and gift shop and a lot of very enjoyable art of course!
Very cool, saw the woman in white exhibit, that was cool, also the building itself is just real neat. Fantastic museum all around for my two cents.
Found this more interesting than the main art gallery next door. Shop & cafe prices high though.
Loved the art. The architecture is OUTSTANDING! Love the design. Amazing place
The East Building hosts modern art, and has an excellent collection which rivals any Modern Art Museum in the world. It also has extensive space for contemplating it, and the interiors are a work of art in their own right. There is a lot more to see than you initially think. I especially like the Calder mobiles in the bottom floor. I shall visit this place again.
The new Japanese Animals exhibit is a must see! Had a wonderful time here.
Really beautiful and impressive collection of modern art in a wonderful and well designed building. Love the Rothko and Calder spaces in the two towers. The rounded room with the Modigliani portraits is an absolute must. Great selection of work from American artists.
A great place. Rotko's exhibition is amazing.
I enjoy impression artist and the east building was full of beautiful works
A great place to visit, nicely designed building and flow
Visited the NGA and had a wonderful time! All genres of art from different periods... well worth the visit!
Always fascinating! Easy to get around. So much to see no matter your taste or preference.
Nice modern design and architecture arts museum 👌 …
What a special museum. The art here spans the very end of the 1890s (starting with the first abstract art) all the way through today. The building is beautiful inside.
To look at everything thoroughly, expect to spend at least ~3 hours.
AMAZING AND THE BIG CALDER. wow, just impressive all around. Such an experience!
Beautiful place. Nice collections of art from a
different famous artist and places.
Great collection of modern works by Picasso, Feininger, Sera, Duchamp, and many others. My favorite was the large, Calder mobile on prominent display in the main lobby area. Highly recommend this place!
Amazing art... Calder, Rothko, Newman and on and on. Well displayed.
East building is very modern and has more "space "than art. We went while a new exhibit was being installed. I suggest you take elevator to room floor and wind your way back down. The lit ceiling in the corridor that connects the east and west museums is really cool and a nice break on your feet to ride moving walkway.
What else can you say about this place? it's free, and you get to see some world class masterpieces. I'll leave you all with an ugly baby by Van Gogh.
Amazingly broad and diverse collection of ground breaking modern art. Must see in DC.
Glad I found Gorky's paintings in here. Also, check fascinating early paintings of Picaso. You can't walk away from the east building without checking Calder's fun progressive art works. Great place to introduce art to children.
Nice, but I prefer the Renaissance art next door.
Some of best contemporary arts in the world are here. Allow plenty of time.
The museum is a great way to spend a half day. Be sure to explore it all as it can be easy to miss a wing or tower and skip something you would really enjoy. Nice gift shop too.
Loved it! Absolutely beautiful building as well!!
Not bad. I don’t get how some pieces are considered as a masterpiece.
Very nice and safe place to visit. Has a full cafe and buffet, beautiful garden courts and decorations in rotunda. Encourages mask wearing. The art work and displays are outstanding, great for family visits.
It has been 16 years since I was able to go to the National Gallery of Art so I was so glad to be able to visit the East Gallery! I was so surprised to how wonderful the building was and how wonderful the art was! The setup is absolutely amazing and it is such a beautiful place. We also enjoyed the cafeteria food which was acceptable. I do have to say that the relaxed atmosphere underneath the building is so lovely with the fountain and flowing water. Nice place to relax!
The mobile was out for restoration, and the current exibits were not very interesting to me.
Loved an afternoon strolling through this beautiful museum
I know it is not up to them the masks no masks deal, but i sumply can NOT enjoy anything without being able to breathe. My pleasure was taken away.
Other than that, everyone is pleasant, and the guy who works at the coat check desk was super kind.
Modern art is important because it experiments with new ideas and techniques. I personally don't always enjoy modern art, but I do appreciate the hard work artists put in. If you like modern art, I recommend a visit, if you don't, then go to the West Gallery.
Loved the lead castings and the Modigliani and Picasso pieces, but for me, the Calder mobiles on the top floor were the highlight. Great stuff.
A delight and national treasure. So lucky to have this and have it open to everyone.
Always excited to see each exhibit.
Great art. You will enjoy the special shows.
Great space, amazing collection of art.
The museum requires masks unless you are eating in the museum restaurant. Smaller crowds due to Covid, but that is a plus as it gives you the space to be safe. The museum is free as are all the Smithsonian museums on the National Mall. A surprise plus was a white squirrel on the Mall just outside the enterance on the Madison side of the museum.
Amazing diversity of different styles and eras of art accompanied by helpful resources to explore the exhibits at your own pace. Great way to spend an the better part of an afternoon.
Gorgeous building with lots of great views. We definitely preferred the "East" building of the National Gallery of Art. They have a great Calder exhibit that is a must see, and an outdoor roof terrace with a good view to the capitol. The cafe was small but good, and had nice views outside and to the museum.
New surprises around every corner. If big crowds and emense places like on the west side drain you, this is the perfect place to go and admire great and tasteful art.
Love to get to the top and enjoy the rooster with my daughter. Although doors were closed to the outside we still got our annual photo.
Now fully re-opened, we get to fully take in the beautiful IM Pei space (much like m his Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas) and all the amazing galleries. And, of course, it's free. Impossible combo to beat
The modern art collection is pretty standard and, just like my review of the museum's collection on the main building, is terribly lacking in diversity. That said, I did find Alexander Calder's work interesting and was the one thing that stood out for me. Oh and the building too - what an architectural eye candy! You really have to see it to appreciate it.
Admission is free, although most things for sale - food, gifts, and souvenirs - are priced steeply.
Currently (Nov 2021) the main area has no art. There is art in the side galleries, however. Strange to see the building without the huge red Calder mobile.
Great art museum!
A must see in DC
It's a decent interior if modern art is what your into.
We loved the white lady exposition
Great exhibits. Great air conditioning.
This is a place to wander. Since it's free to get in, its work it just to give a half day off touring to each building. The space is well designed and leads you to the next room in progression. Every security or volunteer is helpful and knowledgeable about where to look and occasionally some greens of stories.
The modern art side is very cool.
Modern art
love it! the tunnel is awesome
The main building of the National Gallery gets all the foot traffic, but the East Building is a great stop for anyone who wants something a little quieter. It's generally home to more modern exhibits, and has a stunning design after an extensive remodel recently.
So beautiful of the art works and also wonderful girls!
Spectacular and awesome exhibits of various artists!
Premier gallery of American and European art. The paintings seen lifelong from school to coffee tables is here, in the original. Almost a case of Great Art Overload.
Small building, but beautiful works. First time I ever saw my favorite artist Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings in person! The museum itself is a work of art.
The Eastern part is mostly for oil paintings. Even though it's major collections do not change over years, it is still worth to come year by year to appreciate the artistic expression.
More canonical than the Hirshhorn
Love.. a must 🙌 …
Continues to deliver year after decade. Terrific quattrocento Italian selection and GREAT 20th century modern - huge Rothko holdings. Just a remarkable national asset.
Impeccable selection of some of the greatest art in the world. Alexander Calder's mobile sculpture creates an amenable ambiance of inspiration. A MUST SEE when you come to the District of Columbia!
Didnt really like the naked paintings of some of the artist that travelled. But i guess its different in certain countries. The Japanese portion was nice. Most of the art seemed abstract and modern
Well worth a visit fabulous building
Always something to see for the first or fifteenth time. Special exhibit now of sculpture by Lynda Benglis. Also now serving a limited lunch in the cafeteria.
The coffee and gelato store in the basement is a must. The gelato is way over priced $4 for a small. The salted caramel was amazing. I wouldn't say $4, but still pretty good. Excellent art work and good exhibits.
This is a great art museum. We were fortunate enough to get tickets to an Evening at the Edge event. Such fun!!
Don’t miss out the highlight artworks! I loved it :)
Enjoyed stretching my head around abstract art.
Super friendly security and staff. ATM on the bottom floor...near the bathrooms. Will definitely come back soon!
Nice exhibit, although work is being done in the building and some parts of it are closed
You can't skip this place. You must dedicate at least one whole day. For painters, you need 3 to 4 visits.
Pleasant for a leisurely stroll and rumination.
East wing closes for 3 months to complete atrium glass install. Will reopen 1st week in June.
Excellent layout for the displayed works.
People, art, architecture and light interact to create one of the most vibrant public spaces in the United States at the East Building of the National Gallery of Art. The East Building was designed by architect I. M. Pei.
Expect to spend 1.5 hr - 2 hr here. The timed permission is actually flexible they will let you in as long as it's on the same date.
Under renovation, still worth stopping by. Less crowded, and has a couple new exhibits for summer 2021
Very cool
My favorite part of the National Gallery. Not to be missed. Save your time and skip the Hirshhorn across the Mall
Like the inclusions of some interactive pieces
Great museum and beautiful exhibitions, the installations are well keep and super clean.
This is a very spacious museum with lots of art pieces. Temporary exhibitions are impressive. I can stay whole day here.
Excellent "modern" wing of NGA.
They have an awesome foot court and coffee cafe...It is under the East Building.
A bargain for the price (It’s free!)
Has a true breath of modern art some of which is jaw dropping and some of which is just ok. Worth an hour of your time.
One of the great museums in the USA.
Great place to see modern arts, post impressionism and up!
This is a wonderful place to visit and spend the day. A wonderful array of art.
Very good
With the timed entry these days, it's not crowded and a delight to spend the afternoon!
I just love the space, with all the angles and light and sculptures tucked in here and there. The art collection is mesmerizing as well.
the building it is a piece of art in itself.
Love the way the work is curated in the galleries of this museum.
Under repair, but still has exhibits. Site specific installations are great.
Beautiful, breathtaking architecture and a fascinating collection of interesting art.
Claude Monet, 4 Vermeer paintings, lots of cool paintings and sculptures
It was closed, but the exterior design is amazing. I.M. Pei did an amazing job.
Disappointing. Huge space, but not a lot of art, especially in the east building (modern art).
Very airy space. Loved it.
Best Shuttle Bus Service Ever
Liking it better after the renovation
The art installations are breathtaking. The building and the mood of every gallery is striking.
The scale of the building is amazing. Great place to view art
Love this place. Calders at the entrance are temporarily down because of construction.
There's a room solely dedicated for Picasso.
Terrific opportunity to see historical examples of art!
Art seemed pretentious to me but if modern art is your thing.
All the 20th century art: Picasso, Siqueiros, Duchamp, Rivera, Magritte, Kandinsky, Warhol and more
One of my favorite art museums, I love this place!
There are renovations going on, but there is still plenty to see!
Beautifully done
Good!!
The second building of the National Gallery of art but still worthwhile to visit.
Go you'll enjoy
If you love modern art this us the place
Beautiful museum. Free admission.
Always educational and enjoyable for any art lover.
Could use more paintings. So much empty space
I love the art there its so fresh
All the Smithsonian Museums are great!
A must
It was beautiful and has little of everything. The Cafè was good.
Beautiful building!
Same experience.
Love the place and always a 2 day affair!
Best part is the French collection on the ground floor
Very interesting my wife and I enjoyed it
Beautiful - and free
The design of this building is art itself.
Huge gallery, pieces from different period of time.
Great collection of modern art
Loved it. Amazing artwork!
Best art, cool building, free.
Beautiful collection
Beautiful building — in and of itself a work of art!
My favorite museum in DC.
Modern art and modern building. Wonderful.
Favorite art building to visit

Must visit
There for NGA Holiday Party. Good times. Good people. Good food.
Awesome free art museum
I saw two exhibits in the East building and two in the west building. I enjoyed the French impressionists and the Vermeer exhibits most. The written descriptions were very interesting, especially regarding the fraudulent paintings that had been passed off as authentic Vermeers, and how the fraud was examined.
I arrived a few minutes after 10 and no crowds. The coat check was efficient and they checked my suitcase as well. This building itself is something to see let alone the art.
Stunning gallery excibiting paintings and sculptures!
This is a trove of humanity and inspiration. 👍😃 …
Always enjoy the space and inspired by iconic modern art fans. 🙏💛💛💛 …
My single favorite place to visit in Washington, DC, and specifically the room in the tower with works by Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman. All the galleries have great pieces of modern and contemporary art, but don’t forget to look around the Mezzanine Terrace, too. I don’t know how many times I’d visited before I spotted the pieces by Twombly and Steir.
One of the best.
It is a very large place, lacking in proportion, gigantic spaces that make the road quite long to get from one exhibition to another, which makes one end up somewhat bored from walking so much. There are good works by Picasso, and hopefully a couple of paintings by other artists, for example Frida Kahlo, Malta and Dali. Much better West Wing.
There is a passage leading from the basement to the National Gallery of Art, but it was so difficult that I decided to come back to the east wing the next day. It is recommended that you plan your route well at the National Gallery of Art and then view the East Building together.
A quick visit, I would leave it to the last of all the museums because it is fast to visit
A spectacular place for art lovers, you need at least 3 hours to enjoy its most emblematic works
Fantastic art gallery, the building itself is a work of art. It has collections representing the major artistic periods from around the world.
If you like modern art, definitely stop by. You can see various things such as painting, photography, sculpture, and media.
I didn't know that the gallery was separated into the west and the east, but after seeing Edward Hopper's work in the art shop of the west building, I found out about it and found it. When I went, there was a special Jackson Pollock exhibition going on! Although the number of works is small compared to the West Building, it was good because there were many mobile works, and it was even better because I was able to see my favorite works such as Edward Hopper and Modigliani in a quiet way. There are also sculptures on the roof. I liked it better than the Museum of Modern Art in New York because there were not many visitors, so I could fully focus on the view. ☺
AWESOME!! Both the east and west galleries are worth a trip to Washington on their own. You have to spend a few hours or even days. The east building, modern works, is architecturally marvelous. And also free access like almost everything in Washington.
Excessive cleaning. Large spaces the opportunity to see works by Picasso, Modigliani and Braque
Moderne Kunst auf hohem Niveau bei freiem Eintritt. Allerdings ist die Halle ein bisschen gross ausgefallen. Schöne Dachterrasse zum ausruhen.
Modern building that hides the rooms from the main atrium. Good selection of works, with a comfortable space for visitors.
kostenlos, moderne Kunst, tolles Gebäude
Awesome place! Great collection, nice, comfortable, the building is just a bit confusing)
A jewel of contemporary architecture, designed by one of the greatest architects in the world: I Min Pei.
Mainly after the Impressionist art works, you can see Gauguin, a few Monet works, Picasso, Miro's works are also included, it is worthy of good taste.
It was designed by Chinese-American I M Pei. This museum is probably the work that established the reputation of Pei's museum design.
The Washington Public Library, designed by Mies van der Rohe, is also relatively close by. It is a mysterious space that you will never get tired of even if you visit it many times.
The west building of this museum is a traditional Western building, but the east building houses a large number of contemporary art, and this exhibition space is more suitable for feeling its modernity.
The West Building and East Building are separated by a road, but the museum is a convenient museum where users can move through an underground passage, and there are restaurants and bookstores that can accommodate several hundred people in that passage.
many famous paintings
Lots of fun stuff! There are also many well-known works by famous authors. I recommend going through the East Building from the beginning.
Huge frame, after the exhibitions it is according to taste...
A place where you can see modern and contemporary art to your heart's content.
A museum of modern and ancient art, a huge museum so that you should dedicate a whole day to it, in my opinion, anyone who loves art, I recommend him to go to this museum
One of the best museums. amazing art.
It makes no sense to be in DC and not pass even for a few minutes by this marvel
A TRUE TREASURE. THE BUILDING IS NO DOUBT DESIGNED BY ARCHITECT PEI
It's amazing that you can enjoy this much with free admission!
A gallery located in the capital of the United States...available for free use..The collection of paintings and sculptures is also world-class...
I just don't like contemporary art, there is a cafe with a beautiful view in the building upstairs, a huge bright hall
Mainly impressionism, but the important thing is that this is the work of I.M. Pei
The museum itself is worth a visit
Wonderful!!! Some amazing works!!
Awesome place, everything clean and organized... family place and why not even romantic... super incredible
Sehr nettes überschaubares Museeum, das man auch in 2 Stunden schagfen kann. Moderne Künstler sind hier ausgestellt, mitunter Picasso, Kandinsky und Warhol.
One of the best museums I have known in my life, due to its category, its dimensions and its fantastic work. It is one of the most important museums in the world and in America.
If you have to choose, prefer West Building
There are a wealth of contemporary art works in it, whether it is paintings or sculptures, all of which are of high ornamental value.
Many spaces closed for remodeling
