Reviews of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
We went to Busch Gardens for a day when it got a bit chilly for beach fun. It was Monday, December, 3rd, the last day of Christmas break and it wasn’t very crowded. Quick queue passes and all day dining made our day really easy and stress free. These triple the cost of your ticket but are well worth it, if don’t want to spend all the time in lines and have several teenagers in the family who eat a lot like we do. All day dining includes an entrée, a side or desert and a fountain drink in any of 5 main restaurants every hour. It doesn’t include any snacks or other food vendors. Mind: you still have to wait in lines to get food in restaurants, so we didn’t even go to a BBQ place that smelled so good, the line was probably more than an hour long there and we didn’t want to waste time. We also went on Serengeti safari tour and loved it: got to feed the giraffes and see all the animals up close. The rides are awesome, me and our youngest kid 9y.o. did some family friendly rides, which were too much for me anyways (I just can’t do any roller coasters). My husband with older kids had a blast on all the crazy rides. Everyone loved our day in Busch Gardens, we’ll definitely be back.
I love Busch gardens. I used to go to the one in Virginia. I felt it was much better in the terms of maintenance. May be the Tampa bay park isn’t that well maintained probably due to they just opening to public after Covid. I had gone to this park in the late summer of last year.
This location also has a small zoo. The roller coasters are pretty good, the park has something for everyone. They also have shows.
Would definitely come back here.
Fun stop. The day we went there was lots of cars in the parking lot but not as many people. So that worked out really well for the rides and the lines for the rides. It was a hot day so the animals were hiding on the Safari for the most part but there were enough to enjoy. Roller coasters are amazing and the people they were really friendly. I definitely recommend going there with your children.
This is my first time at this location. I was very surprised to find that not only does the park have rides and attractions but it also has a grief focus on wild animals. There is an Animal Care Center that you can enter and at times there will be a veterinarian taking care of an animal. There are exam rooms that have clear glass in front of them so that you can observe what the doctor does with the animals. The park seems to be well-designed for families. I would recommend this place if you want thrill rides animals and family fun!
Excellent experience. Going in the middle of the week during off season has risks with weather. Our visit had a thunderstorm so everything shut down for an hour. Nice job keeping everyone safe.
Be prepared for heat and humidity this time of year.
Animal displays are top notch.
We didn't do any of the rides, except the train. All the coasters look awesome though.
Obviously one must be prepared for theme park food and beverages prices. This requires advance planning as it isn't cheap. A funnel cake and 2 waters was $23. 2 flatbread pizzas and waffle fries, along with 2 beers was about $70. One beer is about double the cost of a 6-pack $10-$12 per cup.
I get it, profits need to be made to stay in operation; but wow, that's steep.
Overall it was a great day.
We really enjoyed the park, there was so much to do we were a group with kids between 3 and 12 years old and at any time it was a problem since they have such a great variety of interests. From Elmo to Sheikra there was something for everyone to enjoy, make sure to get the popcorn and the refillable soda it would make your day go smoothly. Beside all the rides you can also enjoy a beautiful ride on the train around the park and see all the animals.
This was our 3rd trip here and it has always been a blast! We really enjoy the amusement park with a zoo concept. As we walked from ride to ride we were able to stop for an animal interaction...hippo, giraffe, cheetah, gorilla, and many more. Our only issue this trip is that we visited during the off season so the park had several rides closed but the limited wait time made up for it. Looking forward to our next trip!!
Everything was great except few things. Park opened at 10am, but rides did not open until 11am in the whole park. Everything was gradually opening between 10:30-11am.
Food was very good, but I don’t know if whole day meal is worth buying if you not planning to eat at least 2-3 times. Park closed at 7pm, but restaurants close before 6pm. So plan on eating way before park closes otherwise you will miss out on dinner.
Rides and animals are a good mix to do for a family if you decide to split up and do your own thing at your pace.
Took my boys for spring break and they had a blast! There was a huge crowd and it was busy given it was a Saturday and the food and wine festival had just begun. All in all everyone had an amazing time from the beautiful animals to the rides, the shows and the food. My little one loved Sesame Street! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Tampa Bay! 🙌🏼🔥😍
Expensive. But I pretty much knew that. Food deal is worth getting. We didn't so I spent a lot on food. Not a lot of food choices. I loved the animals!! We rode the train which takes you pretty close to the African animals without doing the safari. We paid for the sloth encounter. Totally worth the money!! New ride was awesome!
We booked a weekend vacation to Busch Gardens for our son’s 11th birthday. He’s finally big enough to go on all the rides. Our hotel was the Hampton right next to the park. We had a great time and would highly recommend the park, the hotel and the vacation package. We went on the African safari as well and it was great. We got to feed the giraffes and see many other amazing animals. You and your family will love this place…
Busch Gardens Tampa is an elite park to visit. They have one of the best ride lineups and the park atmosphere is amazing. There's tons of plants and animals to see as you walk around the park. The food here is really good too. They have an efficient tram service from the parking lot to the front gate and a preferred lot closer to the gate. They have great shows throughout the year too. The staff is cool too at the rides and elsewhere. This is a beautiful park and you'll want to come back over and over again. Definitely buy a multi day ticket or even a season pass to get the most out of your visit. I 10/10 recommend BGT.
Let me start off by saying I was given a free pass because I'm a veteran so for starters I didn't have to pay to get in. Myself and my friends purchase the Meal Pass wristband which allowed us to eat all day for $50 a person. The park opens at 10 but Monday of the locations to eat weren't even open yet and you needed an hour and a half in between eating to qualify for the deal. So that limited your amount of time to get three to four meals in and make it worth your while. There was many attractions closed today for what reasons I don't know. It was a hot day so some of the animals didn't come out until after afternoon rain shower. This I understand. The shows that they had were very basic and I felt like I was watching High School performances for the most part. Like a talent show? On the plus side I had a great time still in the park was very well-maintained and clean and all the workers seems happy to be there. The staff was all very friendly and professional. I would return again but only with my military availability.
Great experience, good park , and many things to do inside, not crowded and packed as Sea World and others in Orlando. No waiting on the entrance for parking, no waiting for tickets, for security check up. Inside is plenty of space for seating and not to much waiting for rides even we went on Sunday. Animals encounters they close by 6pm so if you want to see them , enter before this time. We did most of the rides and we didn’t wait as we would if we were in SeaWorld. Kids are not crowded and we could do everything without waiting. Only downside is too hot during the day time, but after 5,6 pm gets better.
Beautiful theme park! I thought I wouldn't be able to do much with a small toddler but there was lots for him to do and not just in the sesame street section! There are a lot of animals by all the big rides and little rides not far. We had a great time!
Wow what an amazing place to go to with family or friends!!! There was so much to do and so much to explore. We only got to try the cheetah roller coaster and the Serengeti train because there was so many people there in the month of April so the wait times were an hour to 2 hours!!! Not to mention 90 degree weather so we were beat by the sun within 3 hours of being there. The food we had was good at the Serengeti food place and there were sooo many animals to see. I can not wait to go back and finish walking the park because we did not get the chance to see and try everything.
My family had fun. I’ve never not been able to ride the rides before visiting here. Beware all the roller coasters were very small. Disney rides are much more big/tall person friendly. It was kind of a bummer missing out on all the fun. I appreciated the train ride through the “Serengheti” animals looked healthy. Burger was not great, but I enjoyed my local beer flight at the overlook pub. Drank some beer, watched Giraffe laze about.
What fun we had. We were rained out on our original day so we got tickets for the next day. We came back the next day and our tickets were honored. Although we did have a bit of trouble with our fast passes as we had them printed out prior to us going to the attractions, we went to a ride and the attendant didn't let's us through the quick line as the printed ticket had the old date. So it was a bit of an inconvenience for us to walk all the way to the front for them to reprint them with the correct day we were attending.
After that was cleared up we had THE best time. Lots of cool rides for big and small. My favorite was Cobras Curse!! So fun.
I enjoyed the tree house area which was great for smaller kids. Plenty of space for my kids to run and play! They also has a kiddie coaster, which was probably the best coaster my kids have been on.
Loves the kangaroo exhibit and you have the option to feed them.
So much cool stuff to do. Loved the Food and wine festival area. I had the best hurricane drink!!
I definitely recommend. Great time and I recommend the fast passes (no waiting).
This is the most beautiful amusement park my family and I have ever been to. The trees and living scenery are so engaging. The animal homes are very well kept and seem as close to "home" as possible. The roller coasters were so fun. The lines weren't bad. About 45 minutes per ride. The scenery... The music... The vibes... The food... The gift shops... Really all worked together to create a wonderful experience for me and my family. We're so thankful you offered the military admittance along with up to three guests free of charge. This really made this trip possible and so so so worth it. Thank you for everything you do at that park for the animals and for the guests. Restrooms were clean and smelled good. This is a great place to go get thrilled about life. Oh and I definitely recommend buying the food pass for each guest. It's worth it. We have great stories to keep in our memories from this trip. So much fun. Thank you again.
This a solid, well-run clean park. We took advantage of their Memorial Day sale on tickets and for $65 you get a lot out of a park that offers a great variety of coasters and animals. The staff members we encountered were all friendly and the wait times for rides for a Thursday were minimal. We even walked on a few coasters. $30 for parking is a little steep and a nice money grab for a piece of property adjacent to the park that they’ve probably owned for decades. Overall though, it was a good time and great for families.
Christmas Town is a must every year, the shows are great, always on time!! No waiting lines, the lights are beautiful, specialty drinks and food for the holidays, having the shows time and map in the app it’s really helpful, we could see all the shows and have time for rides. We love the extended hours! Super recommended!! Stay for the fireworks, great way to end a perfect fun day!!
I am glad that I was able to utilize my season pass here back in June. Unfortunately only a few of the rides were open. My favorite attraction was the safari. I enjoyed seeing animals that I normally would not have seen. Wonderful graduation trip!
My daughter and I had a great time visiting Busch gardens. It was our first time, but we'll definitely be back. Roller coaster are fun and we loved the water ride. Going on a week day was a breeze. Wasn't super crowded and we were able to ride as many times as we wanted
Came here to change it up from our Orlando theme parks and experience something different. Came somewhat late so ended up parking in overflow lot for $30. Went to some of the popular rides right away to avoid lines and it worked out great as the park filled up quickly in the late afternoon.
The kiddo section is small here but the lines for the rides wasn't too bad.
Lots of the food stands are closed which makes for very long food lines. Sounds like a staff issue.
A decent theme park experience.
Beautiful theme park located in Tampa Florida. The park is well maintained. Lots of things to do for both adults and kids. There is serengeti express that takes one almost around the park introducing to various rides and one can also see wildlife. This is really a fun place for kids who love wildlife and games at sesame street. There are public restrooms available. There is also a lot of dining options and other shops available. There are several amazing rides for adults and also few for kids. They also have app to self guide visitors. Parking is available free with some member passes and for other admissions with parking fees.
This place is a must visit for thrill seekers in FL. Busch Gardens is a local staple for nearby universities and Floridians in general. I usually get a fun card when they go on sale for fourth of July and you can enjoy the remainder of the year for less than $100 per person. Some of the rides are outdated for us who've visited the parks for years but my children now enjoy it like I did as a little girl for the very first time.
Beautiful place, our first time visiting. We got in a few shows, some dining, and plenty of walking. I recommend buying the meal plans in advance. You can get a meal with a drink every 90 minutes, all day, great deal and definitely worth it.
We had a great time. There are plenty of things to do for theme park lovers of all ages. Check out the animal exhibits, shows, kiddie rides or the roller-coasters for the thrill lovers in the family. We did an all day dining pass and rented a locker for the day for $10 to drop our backpack throughout the day. It was nice to have a jacket, sun screen and water with us wherever we went. If you don't care about that then a backpack is def not needed.
Super fun! The rides range from tame (for the kids) to thrilling! Also, the animal exhibits are fascinating, being able to learn about both the animals and their habitats. The scenery is not lost here, the park appears to go to great lengths to make it feel as if you're really in that part of the world! I absolutely recommend coming back to this place.
O MY I WILL NOT GO TO BUSCH GARDEN FOR CHRISTMAS .
The lines was long the bathroom was not clean some of the ride was out drinks was out you could not get a cold drink and the workers did not know where anything in the park was .
They had a lovely show on ice 🧊 I saw one show and 3 ride and then the park was closed I got there at 11am and left at closing we paid a lot of money to just walk and wait for rides. At the end they had fireworks that was nice and the park had a lots of Christmas 🎄 lights that was very lovely ti see 👀
We had a very good experience here. The theming and aesthetic of the park is excellent. The grounds are kept clean, and I personally appreciated all of the beautiful plants and flowers. The coasters are all state of the art, and my husband and daughter were able to ride all 10 of them via the quick queue. Quick queue is awesome and worth it. We will be back.
It was okay to good. We enjoyed it and were able to do everything we wanted except the big wooden coaster 😞 Park was fun, but definitely a step down from SeaWorld or Cedar Point and a few steps down from Universal and Disney. We would go back if we got a really good deal but probably not for another 5 or 10 years. …
Let's just start here, it isn't Disney. With that out of the way, it isn't bad at all, especially for the price you're paying. There's plenty of great roller-coasters, although two were shut down when I visited. I didn't wait in a line for more than ten minutes. Parking and transportation were reasonable. Overall, if the Disney prices scare you away or you're just looking to kill an extra day, this is a very viable option.
We were sad, many of rides were closed due to technical reason, overall very good place to hang out for entire day. If you like crazy roller coaster then this is best place to visit. I love it. Only lower the rating because many rides were closed on that particular my visit day
I have been here three times in my life: once when I was four, then again in 2016 and then last weekend. My family loves this park for many reasons: 1. Wait times are reasonable for most rides 2. Not as crowded as OTHER parks and 3. Roller coasters do not disappoint enthusiasts. This visit was great like last time but I have a few observations. For one, there were a lot of food places that never opened. They had signs for the Christmas season but they never did open. Some places opened later than anticipated, like the beer and pretzel place near Scorpion. For those of us looking for beer, the Serengeti Overlook did have great tap beer. (Overpriced but what theme park isn't?) But with the mid-park pretzel place opening later and the Garland Gate never opening, as far as I could tell, I was getting a little annoyed with the lack of real food options. The rest of the places have your standard pizza/burger fare.
Overall though, we enjoyed this visit and the Christmas decorations were cool.
I’ve been going to Busch Gardens for 40 years. It was always a positive experience of my childhood and teenage years. I decided to get my kids and I season passes and visit the park for the holiday light show. We visited the park last Wednesday. When we arrived, just before the parked opened at 12 pm, we were already being directed to an over flow parking lot at adventure island??? I thought for sure the park was going to be absolutely packed and almost turned back but for the kids I went ahead and we took our chances. The park was decorated beautifully and it really didn’t seem overly packed. I don’t understand why we we’re directed to park so far away. The ride lines weren’t to bad. Most our visit my kids waited 30-60 minutes for the coasters and a few times even less. What was very disappointing was the lines for refreshments and snacks. It seemed to me that the park was extremely understaffed. At least half the refreshment stands weren’t open and the ones that were had longer lines than the rides. No joke. Also the game area had one attendant running 3-4 games at the same time. The lack of staffing caused a lot of areas in the park to be very chaotic. Many areas could also use some serious remodeling.
By the end of our visit the line to get on a tram to take us back to Adventure Island was crazy in comparison to the number of trams being used so we decided to walk the 30 minute hike to our car along with at least half the other visitors.
I’ve never in 40 years seen half the patrons walk so far to their cars because the tram wait was going to be so long. It seemed as though they were using like only three trams. Idk but many of us even with young kids walk to our cars at 10pm at night. That was extremely disappointing.
Over all, it was a decent visit. I’m chalking up the problems I encountered to this corona pandemic situation. I truly hope the management can get these problems corrected otherwise the park I once new may never be the same.
An amazing day, the coasters are the best in Florida. Great park, speed of loading the coasters is not up to universal but this is the only slight downside to our visit.
The animal experiences make this a truly remarkable place to visit.
Would recommend the all day locker hire.
Buy tickets online and the fast pass during summer season.
The meal plan is worth it.
Download the park app - refresh to get the wait time per ride every time you open the app.
They have a Chick-fil-A and they are fast just pricey..
Free beers are back !!!!
Busch garden needs better organization
So, get there prior the parks open and preferred parking is worth it !!
We had a blast and always do!
Visited Busch gardens on a Thursday morning and we were happy that we did. There was less than a 5 minute wait line for all the rides, and most of the animals were active and we really enjoyed the interactive animal experience.
Positives: Lots of family and kid friendly shows/ rides/ and activities to do and see. Very clean and well maintained. Lots of animals to look at and fun rides. Loved the different country themes that the buildings followed.
Negatives: Many of the rides were not operating due to maintenance, and it was hard to know which ones were not operating. Food was mediocre. Many of the stalls seemed to have pre-made meals that are handed out when customers come in line and so our food was luke-warm and soggy.
Overall, we spent a really fun day at the Gardens so it’s worth visiting once, but would not visit twice, especially considering the expensive ticket price.
Really excellent theme park and very underrated, it's probably one of the best in Florida. The rides were top notch, the rollercoasters by far the best of all the nearby attractions. The kins area is really nice and has a humongous tree house adventure place which is great fun.
The food is fairly standard but the fact they have live music performances to go along with your food is mind blowing, the pianist was excellent.
A number of rides and animal experiences were down for refurbishment or annual maintenance. We pretty much go to see the animals so the rides weren't a big deal. Got in lots of steps. We did the two parks for price of one with all-day dining so not bad for that price.
We went to the park on a Monday and it was surprisingly empty. I was ready to wait in line for a long time after reading many reviews, but the longest we waited was 20 minutes. Some rides didn't even have a waiting line. Our experience was great. The park has numerous roller coasters, wildlife, and food spaces. Unfortunately there were quite a few rides out of service, which is why I don't give it 5 stars. The staff was very friendly, there are water fountains all over the park, and it was very neat and tidy.
So much fun! It's like a zoo meets amusement park. I loved taking the train ride through the sarangetti (free) and you feel like you're on a safari. Great area for kids as well. Tip: if you go to a Florida welcome center they usually have tickets for cheaper than online or at the door
Super Fun time at this place. So much to do and see. The Safari is a great attraction. The Rides are Fun as heck. Decent prices for Food. Expensive at times but worth it. Must see! Definitely recommend you take your Family.
We love the animals, shows and rides. It was nice not to have to fight crowds and have space to walk around at our leisure. It was a beautiful. I recommend the all day dining you can get food every hour. They have a Chick Fil A there now which was a pleasant surprise and it's a restaurant included with the all day dinning
You’ll need 3 days to be able to enjoy everything this park has to offer. Busch Gardens might be at the tail end of it’s prime but overall still clean and the staff is very friendly. The park is well staffed as well so there’s no missing out on anything. Food is overpriced but then again what park isn’t? There are QR codes to order on the app. However it seems half the time it wasn’t available. Overall an enjoyable visit.
Had a fantastic time with my family. I was able to use my Waves of Honor tickets to get in since I’m currently military. My son had a blast in the Elmo land!! The waits weren’t bad either! Bush Gardens never disappoints. Come here many times over the years. But now that I have kids I get to experience things I never cared about like the kids area which was real nice. Overall good family experience.
Place was more than we expected. Not a fan of beer so when they say free beer I wasn't impressed about this place already. Upon getting there and as the day went by we were impressed by all the rides and animals to see. We went on a Wednesday when they opened and by 4pm they were out of ICE. What kind of place runs out of ice? Anyways; it was a fun day. We all had to leave the park at 6 because bad weather was coming so they closed the park early. Wish we could have been there longer to enjoy the whole park. You know in Florida that bad weather can come out of nowhere as it did when we were there.
Very Educational. The Roller coasters help you let go.and the more you ride them the more fun they get. Which is why it's better to get an annual pass so you don't feel rushed. The animals touch your heart in a way that teaches you compassion for all living things. Its very therapeutic for someone like me who suffers from anxiety and depression. The food is expensive but that's ok. It's a better experience on an empty stomach. There's attractions for all ages. And there's plenty of water fountains. So you can bring a water bottle and fill it. There's a still a lot I haven't seen. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
It was an amazing experience. Very nice place. I usually don’t like rides but I’ve tried some of them. Watching some kinds of animals was interesting. What I liked the most was the show, don’t miss this, it’s fascinating!
Totally amazing!!! Average wait time for rides which in fact are very breathtaking. The concessions are pricey but remember it's a theme park. We stayed till closing so the traffic was undesirable. I'll definitely suggest it to anyone that lives in Florida or plans on visiting.
Super! Visiting Busch Garden during Xmas season is highly recommended. The park is well decorated and the shows are amazing. Buy a dinning pass with the ticket is a smart choice since it provides a side or dessert +an entree+drink every 90 minutes and there are a variety of choice.
The day we chose to go it was a beautiful day outside. Our children are 14, 12 and 9 and they had something there for each and every one of them which made for a very pleasant day. I was happy to find out that the lines are not that long. We downloaded it charades on our phone and played while we were in line past the time. The kids and us had a wonderful fabulous day. The greatest gift of all is we made memories.
I have annual passes to Busch Gardens! Its always a adventure to go in different times of the year! I love the roller coasters have to do falcons fury at least once! All their coasters are awesome and the animal encounters make the experience complete!
Great park with a nice mix of animals and roller coasters. We enjoyed feeding giraffes from the back if the safari truck (extra charge). Very family friendly park with things to do for almost every age.
Great collection of animal exhibits, roller coasters, restaurants, and shows. Friendly staff that cares. James in the Jungala gift shop was very friendly and had a great conversation with me about the roller coasters. The Serengeti Safari tour costs extra but is worth doing for great photos and up close interaction with the giraffes. While there may not always be an animal in the animal care center undergoing an examination or surgery, it is a treat when they do have something scheduled and you can tell they truly care about all the animals, whether they are part of Busch Gardens or from outside the park.
Don’t listen to the negative reviews from the trolls, this park is breathtaking. One of the best parks I’ve been to. Been here 6 times never had an issue I’m from Chicago and I been coming here the last few years. Rollers coasters , food, wine ,beer , fireworks ,animals and Christmas Town. You name it.
I went to Christmas Town to see the lights and all the festivities. The ice skating show was good. Santa's experience was wonderful - shout-out to iFrost the elf. I was only able to try a couple of things with the sampler lanyard and I wasn't too impressed with the pork loin and the peppermint brownie. The brisket at Zambia Smokehouse is really good though.
I highly suggest a ride on Tigris. All of them are really fun really. The animals are always great to look at too.
Its a great park with lots of fun.
I had a blast. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see everything since some of the animal exhibits were empty, but I enjoyed seeing what I was able to see. They have a lot of animal life to look at and the rides are exciting. I recommend downloading the app for your visit because it displays the wait times for rides. That feature helped optimize what rides I would check out. The only negative thing about my day here was at the end of the day one of the cleaning staff was talking to his coworker and was saying the n word quite a bit. I don’t believe he realized I could hear him even though we were both out in the open and I am the type of person to be rubbed the wrong way by hearing that type of language.
Very nice theme park.
Enjoyed the rides. Iron gwazi is amazing!! Loved Tigris as well. The rides were a lot quieter than the main parks. We went on the rides as many times as we wanted.
The animals were lovely and the whole park was really good
I have gone to Busch gardens two times in the last month. The first time about a third of the attractions were not operational. Plus many of the animal exhibits were also closed I chalked that up to it being cold the day that I went there. I went this past weekend and was disappointed again because many of the rides are not operational and the same thing many of the animal exhibits are closed. We had to wait in many long lines since many of the attractions were closed. Then about 1:00 in the afternoon half the park electricity went out and you couldn't ride more rides and you couldn't even buy a soda or food if you wanted to because there was no electricity to process the credit cards. So I went and looked at what animal exhibits were open. I was truly disappointed as I have always felt that Busch gardens was a better value than all the other attractions in Florida.
Been a very long time since I went to Busch gardens as a kid. Went to the one in Williamsburg and remember it was also nice. Didn’t remember it being this fabulous though. Can’t believe how great this place is. Love the balance between quite a lot of roller coasters and rides with the fancy zoo features and wonderful landscaping.
I was kind of disappointed. All in all, it was a good time. But I bought 3 PLATNIUM annual passes, drove all the way to Tampa from Orlando for New Years Eve, and then found out that the passes didn't come with free food, only a "discount" which wasn't much. I got a small coke and french-fries and it was still $8 with the discount. We went over the course of 2 days, and one of the days, we didn't even get the "upgraded parking" since they were full. So we had to walk about a mile to the park. I also didn't know that the tickets only come with ONE fast pass for ONE ride ONE time. We had to buy fast passes on the day we spent more time at the park. We were supposed to get discounts on those, too, but we still had to pay over $200 for 3 people, and those were the passes that you get to ride each ride one time, which was all we needed, but it was still a lot of money. The platinum passes were overall a waste of money and I definitely do not recommend getting them if you're going to get annual passes. Get the cheaper ones, because you are still going to be spending tons either way. The discounts are not worth it in my opinion.
Also, Busch Gardens is in a very, how should I put it, "questionable" part of town. So if you have the idea of walking to the park from your hotel, I would forget about that now. You probably shouldn't walk anywhere, actually, not even to dinner or ice cream. Take an uber, don't even wait at the bus stops. Bring what you need with you so you don't have to leave your hotel, other than to go to the park. It is NOT a family friendly town. So be careful with the accommodations you choose as well.
There were only about 8 or 9 good adult coasters that were worth riding, but they were DEFINITELY worth riding! A+ for the coasters they do have. They were way better than the ones in Orlando. The fast passes are worth it. But go with the cheaper ones, where you only ride the rides once. It's hard to fit in multiple rides on one coaster in a day.
All in all it was fun, but I expected more for the money I paid for the annual platinum passes. At least I get to try out Sea World too, right here at home.
Clean and organized. Not crowded. Easy to find places to eat and stores. The only downside is that the food options are very repetitive throughout the whole park, making it impossible to find a balance food meal, besides chicken tenders, etc. The fruit (strawberries) was frozen and tasted old. The installations were clean and good. The safari was nice. They don't have anymore the photographer option but they are trying to get it back. Adventure Island park is very small and the food is limited too.
A fun day for all. Strangely the park closes at 6 p.m. during the week at this time of year, likely because schools are back in session for most students. The attraction lines were short, but the wait times were long for some of the more popular attractions due to the attractions not running at full capacity.
The food in this park seemed to be of better quality than the food at Sea World.
The roller coasters are fantastic! If you’re a coaster rider, this is the central Florida park for you. But, if you’re not a coaster rider and you’re over the age of ten, there’s not many attractions for your demographic. Sorry.
Parking at all of the Busch parks seems to be $30, which stinks when you have a three-park pass. It would’ve been nice if they offer a pay-in-advance discount, but they know that they don’t have to since there’s really no other options.
Busch Gardens Tampa has some of the best coasters. Today we road the new hybrid coaster and it was Amazing!! The staff could be a bit friendlier and helpful and the bathrooms were lacking in the cleanliness department. The animals were lovely as always and as usual we had a great time!
Since I was a kid I've been going to Busch gardens and my recent visit reaffirmed by like going there so much. It's all about the animals.
If you're going to Busch gardens then you want to make sure you spend time checking out all the animals. The rides are fun and there's other things to do at this park but the real reason to go is the animals. If you can afford this Safari ride I would try to get that as well because it puts you right in the middle of the animals out in the safari.
We had a lot of nice animal encounters and the birds were sweet and funny. Definitely loved hanging out with the penguins for a bit.
We were surprised at how much the Lions were active as well as the hyenas. My favorite animal was the hippopotamus because of the fish eating off of its back was so cute. It was like the hippopotamus was getting a massage by the fish lol. Can't wait to go back and visit again.
We went in January so it wasn’t busy. The animals were entertaining. The staff were all great. A lot of the park was just closed which was a bit disappointing. We wanted to play some of the games but there was only one employee for about 8 games so it wasn’t possible. Fun place to kill a day with kids.
Went with my family a couple months ago and had a great time. It wasn't very crowded, so the lines were short and we were able to try a bunch of different rides. It was a fun experience, and the park is beautiful. I definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for fun vacation destinations for your family.
Wonderful place to go and visit! We were pass holders all last year and we had an absolute blast. All the events and perks were perfect! My only complaint is the food on site is sub par. The only place we had a consistent meal was the giraffe bar.
This place is great year round. The lines can be longer during summer times or seasonal events such as Halloween. The food is great, a little over priced. Lots of souvenirs, things to shop for gifts. Those things are way over priced, but it is definitely an experience. The annual pass is definitely worth it if you in Florida. The park not only has rides, but a variety of animals and fun shows for the little ones to see. Face paintings. They do have rides for smaller children as well. Fun for the whole family. Wheel chair assessable rides.
Awesome Christmas experience with the kids!! We had the best time here. My kids have never been to a theme park before, and I have to say what a great first time they had. They saw monkeys, lions, giraffes, gazelles, penguins, hyenas, and a cheetah. Christmas Town is gorgeously decorated and seeing Santa was so great, its hard to stress what a great Santa that was and the elves that took us to him were phenomenal. They all did such a great job to make sure my kids had the best experience possible. The princesses were beautiful and the kid safe zones were really fun for both of them. I am totally a Busch Gardens fan, now. Especially for the holidays. Thank you!
Had a great time today at Bush Gardens! We spent all day there went on a few rides and seen a few Shows. Always love walking around and seeing the Animals, they are so beautiful! We have passes so we will be back next week!! Can’t wait till Halloween!!!
Iron Gwazi was amazing! The other rides here were also lots of fun. This park is definitely a family favorite from the rides, shows, and train through the safari. Good times all around
Great rollercoaters, good food, good events, tram was quick, trains take you from one end of the park to another, and so does the sky.....ski lift thing, where you get to see the whole park. They appreciate military by giving their admission and 4 dependents free passes. We saw rhinos, flamingo, lions, kangaroo and more. It's like a zoo and theme park on one. The staff were friendly and not scarce. Great place to take the family for a day
I should probably start by saying I'm from Ohio and have been going to Cedar Point my entire life. So my standards are probably higher than most.
The amusement park portion for me was sub par. The rides are short, both in height and duration. The animal part was cool. Not as big as a normal zoo, but pretty good for an amusement park. The animals were definitely the best part.
The safari rides was pretty fun. Feeding the giraffes was definitely the highlight of the day. The park itself is very clean, so I appreciated that.
The part that really shocked me was how expensive everything is. I'm used to amusement parks overcharging for simple things, but never as much as I experienced today. I get that some of that goes towards raising the animals and preserving endangered species. That's why the ticket price for admittance and the safari ride were somewhat justified. But the food and drinks are just crazy, almost criminal. We ate at the pizza oasis place. It was meh. A pizza which is basically two slices, and a beer cost $30.
We were able to get complimentary tickets for 4 of us, which was great because normally tickets are ridiculously expensive. The time it takes to walk from the parking lot to the entrance is crazy hot - you’ll be drenched in sweat before you enter the park. Wait times were pretty short unless it was a new ride. There were many animals to see and quite a few things to do/watch if you don’t like rollercoasters. They have a train that takes you around the park, exhibits, and shows. It’s a theme park so expect to spend some money and if you can, definitely wait until the colder months to visit because it’s SO hot.
Would be a great place, but the lines are just too long. In 4 hrs we barely made it to 2 rides. And that on a non-festive Thursday. Food is horrendously overpriced, but that's a given in any amusement park. Better during cooler months, but the lines were definitely better during reduced capacity.
It is a nice place to take children. Some of the rollastors were not open. I did enjoy seeing the animals and wild life. Employees could be more helpful we got lost and when we went to get their attention they both ignored us. But other than that if you're looking for an amusement park with lots of rides not a bad choice just come later during the day seems like more attractions are open.
Been passholders for years. I have always loved this place. I've literally been going for 30 years and it never gets old. There is something for everyone. Such a beautiful park with wonderful ambassadors. The cool rides and awesome animals really round out the park. Everything is well done. Busch Gardens is my happy place. Also, Iron Gwazi is the best ride on the planet!!!!!
Fun time but not the overall best experience I have had here. The rides are great and the workers are pretty nice too. I would go back but not during the fireworks season, they closed down some of the rides like 10 minutes earlier then they told everyone and we waited over an hour until the ride opened back up again which was not the best experience.
Went for a day while on vacation and had a blast! Roller coasters were great and super fun! The free train brought us to the safari animals which was super cool and they had affordable interactive activities with the animals at the bird area and the kangaroo exhibit! Very fun time and a great price for all the stuff they had!
Very fun park with some excellent roller coasters. It is a bit run down and worn but what isn't in Florida? I like that it's not as busy as the Whorelando theme parks yet still packs a punch ride wise. Try the Serengeti smoke house in the back part of the park for some really good smoked brisket and ribs!
Great rollercoaster rides 🎢👍👏👏👏 Would be a great place to take family. I do recommend all you can eat deal but they no longer give you free beer when you're there! Nice park but definately not the same without the beer school
Lots of great rides though lines were long (last day of spring break). Food was good at smokehouse but had to wait for what we wanted. All day meal deal def worth it.
Our experience was so fantastic! My mom isn’t too big into the really big coasters because she gets dizzy. However, we both enjoyed the Cobra’s Curse, which we rode 5 times. The second favorite was Cheetah Hunt which was also fun. I’d like to give a shout out to Jaime with the gingerbread socks over at Cobra’s Curse. He was so sweet and really good at his job.
Go see animals and have fun and thrills on some rides. Definitely worth looking into. Very expensive once inside so consider bringing a small cooler and keeping it in your vehicle - go back to your vehicle for lunch.
Electric scooter rentals will cost $85 all day to assist with getting around if you're having trouble with walking all day.
It's hard to justify paying $6-7 for a warm pretzel, but they are delicious. The Tiger is our favorite, and all the animal exhibits are amazing. 4 stars because the kids loved it. Not 5 stars because we think the park could have had more people working to help with directions & guidance. The maps are digital meaning you can download the Busch Gardens app and have some fun with that. We didn't bother with the app. The smoked Turkey legs seem to be a decent deal. If you're a Florida resident you may wanna consider buying an annual pass. Depending on the tier of the pass you can qualify for certain discounts on parking and up to 40% in the gift shop. You'll get up to a 20% discount on food with the Platinum annual pass.
I think the main advantage for Florida residents is they let you pay in monthly installments in lieu of approximately $1700 up front for a family of 4 with platinum passes.
Florida residents - do not be fooled - it isn't a month to month membership you may cancel before 1 year. A contract comes up that you're obligated to sign in order to move forward.
The deal beats inflation if you agree to auto renew your membership, but mark your "ical" if you're thinking of not renewing for the next year and make sure you cancel.
I went on a Monday & they were either doing maintenance, painting rides, or they didn't have enough staff to run all of them. The layout is weird, but very entertaining. They animals are cool to look at, especially the hippo exhibit. The rides are as bumpy as I would've thought, so that was cool. The food kinda sucked. Overall experience was good, you just have to bring good people with you and it won't matter what condition the park is in
first time there...park is a little dated but i still enjoyed seeing the animals and riding the coasters. Be sure to get a ticket deal with the all day dining pass - on a hot day, it was lifesaver for getting drinks and not having to worry about paying separate for every meal if you will be there all day.
I was pleased that they didn't charge for parking on the day we visited. All the employees were very friendly and helpful. Entry was easy with the printed pass from my computer. My kids had their pass on their phones. The security check was very smooth and not unpleasantly intrusive. They have a Chick-fil-A at the park which was not very crowded. Saw lots of animals and rode quite a few rides. While some were closed, it wasn't a big issue since many were open. We'll be back for sure. It was a great day!
We were shocked that the military discount when we attended allowed our friend who is active in the military to get in for free and also the rest of the group (3 ladies). Thank you! We had a great time.
My family was really looking forward to our trip here. We were really disappointed with this park. If you just want to go to ride just the roller coasters then you'll be fine. Now if you want to see the animals then be prepared for disappointment. The Chimpanzees were not out and nothing to see. Close the exhibit if you are keeping them out of view. The tigers and gorillas had only one so you got 50 or more visitors trying to see and take pictures of them. Really a let down. My biggest gripe is the cheetah training that everyone told me to check out. It happens once a day at a posted time. So we got there early to get a good spot. Time came and nothing happened. Tons of people are standing around waiting for nothing. No one came out and nothing posted about it being cancelled. Such a waste of time and made a lot of people upset. They should of done anything to let the public know. Shows the lack of caring this park has. The train only had two stations open which caused the stations to be overly packed. We were only able to see one show because all the others were closed. Please be very careful if you want to visit this park. Come in with very low expectations and you'll be fine.
If you love amusement parks and intense roller coasters, this place is a MUST!! Beautiful grounds, lots of wildlife to see. Food selections are very good - more pricey than out on the street of course. Drink prices are ridiculous. Entry fee is what you would expect, but it is $30 for parking!! Despite those drawbacks, it really is a great park. The rides are awesome. You won't get a better selection of intense roller coasters than here!!! I'm used to intense rides, but Iron Gwazi scared the pants off me - in a good way!!! You would have to go to Ohio's Cedar Point and Kings Island and Six Flags Magic Mountain in California to beat the coaster selection here. There's also plenty for younger kids and they do have some great shows to see which are included in the entrance price. Go early and stay late.
Spent several hours walking the grounds and taking photos of the animals. Beautiful! Grateful for misters.
Rode one ride, the log ride. Unfortunately due to lack of signage we weren't allowed to ride the Montu with my tiny purse backpack. It seemed like there was a lot of rides in general that were closed, so out of four we planned on, only one was available.
Food was good. The meal pass is a great deal if you want to drop off your high school aged kids for a day of running around.
Scenery and decor was interesting and colorful. They don't check items at the front so we could have brought a water bottle of our own. Refillable bottles are accepted no problem though.
The ticket prices for what was available (closures) was quite steep. Two adults, plus parking, was well over $250. We probably won't return, but had a decent visit.
I enjoyed the thrill rides. Iron Gwazi is top notch. If you want to enjoy the other roller coasters, I'd ride that last. The food is a bit pricey, but it's to be expected. My only gripe is that there weren't many places to sit and keep cool. Other than that, I had a blast with my friends!
This was our first time going and we had a blast. There are so many rides to ride even with 3 rides down. Many of the refreshment stands were not open but the bigger restaurants were. Now we purchased the quick queue online and let me tell you that was the best decision we made. We were able to get on every ride almost immediately no wait at all. Plus we rode all the rides several times. The regular lines had wait times up to 90 minutes. So if this will be your first time going and your from out of town I highly recommend the quick queue it is so worth the money. We also had purchased the dining deals online and they were also worth it. We saved a good chunk with that. The food is pricey but that's all amusement parks lol. The portion sizes were good sizes to it filled us up. Me and my family will so go again. Thrill seekers would really enjoy these rides.
Absolutely stunning park om a great location. I loved the theming and atmosphere of the park. Along with some amazing rides, I really enjoyed the animal exhibits as well. Highly recommend for both coaster enthusiasts and families
Busch Gardens is a nice amusement park to visit. We went during the week and did not need the Quick Que passes that we purchased. I would advise waiting until you get to the park to see if you need to purchase them. You can purchase them once you enter the park. If you buy them online they are non-refundable even if you didn't use them.
Great rides and nice Park in the Tampa area.
We live near Cedar Point, the best roller coaster park in the U.S. so unfortunately every park we go to is compared to CP. However I TRY to rate the park on its own merits and location.
That being said, Busch Gardens Tampa impressed us.
It's less than 2 hours from Disney/ Islands of Adventure/ Universal, so the fact alone means it has stuff competition. They still delivered. I was at Islands of Adventure and Universal a few years ago and I say Busch Gardens Tampa is the better of the parks if you like RIDES.
All the rides were good to great. Some really unique ones like the Cheetah with it's 3 launch points, or the Cobra with the cars that spin as you go. Our favorite was the Mantu which was like the Raptor from Cedar Point but taller, faster, and lasts longer.
The animals and combo zoo thing they have going on is cool also. It gives you something to see in between rides. Also even for summer it was not very busy. We waited an hour for 2 rides. The rest were 20 minutes or less. Which is unheard of to me.
The overall design of the park is great too. I have ONE complaint, and it that water fountains are far too and far between. We had a refillable water bottle and it was almost 100 degrees F when we went so we were very warm. We struggled to stay hydrated.
Last thing of note, they had some decent eateries, good spread between them and they were doing free beer (2 per person) at one of them, that's a good way to get me in the door.
I haven't been to a Busch Gardens before, but this absolutely impressed me. If you live in Tampa or West Florida, I think you need to make a trip here.
Roller coasters are great! Would be better I'd they had more than 1 train car going at a time on some of the longer lines. The app isn't always updated with wait times. We love the animals and exhibits.
I had a fun day but the ride wait times were horrible, I didn’t end up getting on anything except for the train (that takes about 45 minutes round trip). (It was a Thursday, school should’ve been in session.)The prices are crazy! $13 for a cheap magnet? For a basic ball cap and sunscreen it was over $40! The food was overpriced and not even hot. I cannot fathom having kids and trying to afford a day at this park. They also charge Disney-like prices for parking, $30! The price for tickets were also crazy compared to their counterparts in Williamsburg. The safari animals were awesome but you can see as much on the train as you could for the $80 they charge to ride on the safari truck (not worth it unless you absolutely want to pet giraffes). I’ll stick to the Williamsburg Busch Gardens.
We just bought annual passes. Worth it just for the parking alone. I got to go on 4 of the coaster with less than 10 min wait time. We were there 10am to 6pm. Lonest wait was 30 mins. They have fans and shading everywhere, super nice for how hot Florida is. We fed the kangaroos. That was an incredible experience.
We ate at the brisket house. 45 mi. Wait but the food was fresh and really good! The aviary was closed and a couple rides and stands. We had a great time. Love looking at all the animals and how close you can get to them. .
We loved this so much that we plan to purchase the annual pass. The Serengeti safari was awesome. If you are local, buy the annual pass. It get 4 people in including you.
Had the best time. So much to do. Clean and so many rides and places to go. The park was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Lights and all the different color trees were so pretty. It was such a great place to be. The weather was perfect!!
I had a fun filled day. Lots of rides to go on. I loved the ice skating show. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. Only giving 4 stars because some of the food that was being served wasn't good.
It was the third time we visited this park. This place is clean and the staffs are friendly as always.Their rides are not the craziest, but still fun and make me feeling dizzy.
We went on March and due to Covid, they are short of staffs, some of their rides were not open. And actually there were not too many visitor due to the same reason I believe. There are very little waiting time. I kind of regret getting their quick queue pass. Actually only 1 ride request the fast pass, the others either had they quick queue line closed or the wait time had not much different.
The unlimited quick queue is always worth the buy. We rode Cheetah hunt 3 times in an hour. I have an 8 year old so we can only do so many coasters but if he was able to do all the coasters then I would recommend the one time quick queue which allows you to go in the quick queue line only once and is cheaper. Here's an insider hint...most of the time the person guarding the quick queue line isn't scanning the pass. I wouldn't say try getting away with a fake one. But make a mental not that if they haven't scanned your pass they just looked at, go on another ride then circle back to that one later.
The rollercoasters are brilliant! And it’s nice to see all the animals as we walk around the park. The first time we visited on our holiday at the start of August the park was so busy, assuming this is because the Florida schools hadn’t gone back yet? We got to go on 5 rides in 8 hours!!! They sell so many fast track passes so that the regular line basically gets put on hold. The wait time stated outside the ride ends up being nearly double due to the amount of fast track guests they let through. There were ride closers throughout the day, not necessarily from the weather but from rides breaking. We queued for StanleyFalls Log Flume for just under 2 hours, we got right to the front of the queue for them to close the ride, not telling us what was going on or why? The locker expired after 2 hours, which ultimately made us leave the queue as we were worried about our belongings. However, the second day we returned, reluctantly after our first visit, the park was very quiet and we got on every single ride, much better. Only one lane/cart going on rides at a time, leading to again wait times out-waying the time stated outside the ride. Understaffed still from covid? They could do with some more refill machines around the park. The free coach that dropped off and picked from Icon Park Orlando was great, the driver was very friendly and informative. There was also free wifi throughout the park. The all day multi-ride locker was great, you pay a fee of $10 with the first locker which you can then move around the park and different rides all day.
Love it! Went here throughout my childhood into adulthood when I then worked here and met the love of my life here. There is something to do for everyone and there is always some fun events going on every season. It’s a must!! Doesn’t matter the age just go and explore the beautiful experience of Busch Gardens, there is ALWAYS something to do. Plus who knows, you might be your soulmate there too! ;)
This place is in very well done! We loved how everything tied in and there is A LOT to see! So many rides to go on for our littles. We arrived close to park opening and left at closing. We were extremely tired and happy we visited. Thank you Busch Gardens Tampa Bay!
Great amusement park and a zoo! Loved the roller coasters here and also saw many animals (like giraffes, lions, hippos, cheetahs, elephants etc.). I think it's a great place not just for families, but also for adrenaline junkies! If you are one, be sure to try these super exciting rides - Tigris, SheiKra, Cheetah Hunt and Montu!
This, to me, is the best theme park in Florida, we got free parking but it is normally $30.00 dollars to park here. Once inside it is a feast of rides and animal attractions. Shame Sheikra was closed but no matter, the rest of the park was a blast. Park was open until 10pm and the Xmas decorations after dark were amazing, the boys finally got to meet Father Christmas. The staff cannot do enough for you and we had a great day here.
Love that they have options for the smaller children! (1.5yo, 3yo, and 6yo all had a blast).
We had an amazing experience with two employees. One being Kira who was operating the little cars ride and Anderson who was operating the swings ride. Both rides being in the kiddie zone. You can tell they are genuinely very nice people and have amazing customer service.
We went with free Veteran's tickets on a Friday during peak season. Entry was very disorganized due to renovations in the main entrance, so entry took a long time. The park was packed all day, and the heat index from the July sun was over 100. For a park in Florida, there's surprisingly few drinking fountains for guests to get fresh water. Wait times for food were also ridiculous, but mainly because people who ordered after us got their food before we were ready. Wait times for the Rollercoasters were also absurd, but less because of the crowds and more for slow dispatch times (Cheetah Hunt was especially bad with that). The fireworks show that night also got rained out by a thunderstorm which flooded areas of the park.
The reason this gets 3 stars and not any lower is for a few reasons. The first being that with free entry it takes less to get fill value out of the day. The second was the free beer special they had running - presenting your ticket and ID at Pantopia would allow each guest to get 2 beers for free, which helped with the heat. The animal exhibits and encounters were super cool and well worth exploring. The shows for the day were also nice, and had AC to get out of the heat. I was also able to ride every rollercoaster I wanted at least once despite the crowds, and was impressed with the quality of the rides.
I need to come back on an off-season day when the entrance is finished with renovations, it's less hot, and there's less people, that way I can get more out of the day. If I do, I'll likely have better things to say.
This was a great experience- all but for the heat but hey, it’s Tampa. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the lines were almost non existent. Arriving well past opening time of 10am we were still able to ride each major coaster more than once by the 6pm close of the park. I purchased tix and parking beforehand and we couldn’t have glided into the park any more effortlessly. It was a fantastic time and I can’t wait to go back. I was excited to ride Montu again as I remembered when it first opened back almost 30 years ago when I was a FL resident! We went often then. But riding with my own grown sons was so cool. Excellent memory making- even if I did scream like a little b**** 🤣😂🙃 Monday, Monday wasn’t such a drag this late May in 2022.
So fun has a variety of things to do. Enjoyed taking my teenagers there. They really appreciate there guest by having fans with mist blowing around so guest don’t get overheated from the sun. We were there from 12pm to like 8pm because there was so much to see and do. The wait time for the rides was decent, I thought it was going to take forever to get on rides but no it went smooth. The only bad side is all of the walking will make your legs tired and the food and beer is to overpriced. Had a great time.
I miss the Clydesdale horses. I hadn't been since the early 2000's, and they were one of my favorite parts. Didn't know it had been sold back in 09. But it was a lot of fun, just none of the rides except the rapid river ride are big person friendly. Couldn't ride anything but that and the train. But for the kids, they had a blast riding everything. The animals are a lot of fun to see, especially the safari. It's worth the extra money to feed the giraffes. A lot of memories were made with the kids on that.
I really appreciate Busch Gardens for the exclusive service member free entry. Thank you for what you do for all Military. Shared wonderful memories with my family before we PCS to our next duty station.
Awesome experience! The park is clean and staff is friendly. There are tons of animals to see and rides for adults and children alike. Food is very pricey, we visited after lunch and had a late dinner when we left. They have alot of high quality items/souvenirs for sale. We went for the Christmas lights and were not disappointed. Will definitely be returning.
Not impressed at all today... so many attractions were closed. Most of the big rides were open and for those that enjoy them, this was a great day, but for those who enjoy the more sedate rides, most of them were not available. We waited in line for the train only to be told after waiting for nearly an hour, that one of the trains was stopping, so out wait time just doubled, not a good way to treat customers.
Seeing the animals was great and we were lucky that they were mostly active during our visit, this made our day worthwhile and the fact our thrill seaker had a great day, even with the additional cost to bypass the the queues.
Having spent time at Disney and experiencing how they do things and also visiting Seaworld, the cleanliness and friendliness of staff here is lacking. The systems at the cafeterias is diabolical, slow and inefficient, somebody needs to improve the whole park.
The long and short of this is that we will not be going back to Busch Gardens on our future trips.
First time going in 12 years and had a blast! so many ride caught me off guard but nothing scared me.
Tons of intense rides and my favorite so far were Kumba and Cheetah Hunt.
Super fun park. Very family friendly, lots of rollercoasters with crazy different and new elements. The Christmas event is really pretty at night, the place comes to life. Don’t forget to ride Montu, it’s one of the best there!
Unhappy that they have almost all roller coasters, but I believe only 2 other rides that aren't. The water log and water raft rapids (not sure of the rides exact names.) However, I do not ride roller coasters so I was looking forward to the two water rides as that was all the rides left at the park offers and it was extremely extremely hot a day and the minute we got in line for the log ride they closed it. My son and his friend waited 2 and a half hours to ride one roller coaster. And spend another 45 minutes waiting to ride the train. Between the walking around and waiting in line for that long by 4 p.m. that day we had been there for 4 hours and it was so hot we ended up leaving. We have a yearly pass so hopefully next time we go, it won't be so humid but it's Florida so I doubt it LOL. I wish they would get more rides that weren't coasters so I could enjoy it too. But my son and his friend had a great time so that's all that mattered. Are prices on drinks and food is ridiculous but that's anywhere
GOOD
— Half theme park and half zoo. And both are well represented.
— Easily some of the best rollercoasters in the world. A solid collection!
— This park is sure to please both those 8 and 80 years of age. While they are heavy on the thrill rides (no complaints from me!), there is much to do for all ages.
— Plenty of restrooms and unique places to sit or relax.
— Shade systems in place for many ride queues (must appreciated!).
— Clean park throughout.
— Mostly flat and easy to navigate. Good layout which is essentially a loop with a few spurs.
— The movable ride lockers is a great option and I have become a real fan.
— While I would say it’s on the Disney level, the lush landscaping and theming are well done. This park really looks great.
— The BG mobile app is decent and much appreciated. It’s a great companion during a BG visit.
— A small amount of snacks in a waist pack was permitted on my visit. I try to eat healthy so this was a big plus for me.
BAD
— Food choices are very limited. Burgers, nuggets, and pizza, oh my! Outside of that, I found it to be a bit of a food desert. We left the park to eat dinner.
— Not very pedestrian friendly if visiting on foot from nearby hotels.
SUMMARY: In short, this is a grade-A, world class park and worthy of your visit. This is a destination park… a reason for any coaster or theme park enthusiast to visit Tampa. On my first visit, I was able to comfortably do all I wanted in two days.
We parked at regular parking lot than had to take the trolley.
We paid extra for the pass for a limited rides.
Do recommend take a fanny pack & dress comfortable. They do have lockers for a $$$ to store personal items but it's a pain having to do that before every ride.
Lots of concessions food/beverages stands closed.
Very few animals to look at.
Overall it was fun will be back in the future.
Still a little warm but over all still fun. Each time we go we find something diff we didn't see before! The sppoktacular for the kids was awesome they loved it! They were even able to give a nice kangaroo lots of lovin! He stayed the whole time taking it all in.
Had a blast, although it was EXTREMELY hot and humid. The whole family enjoyed it. I will say that the food we ate wasn't that great, ft long hotdogs and fries and some of the servers were very rude, but we didn't let that ruin our day. :)
This is the best theme park for rides in Florida. Lots of great coasters and lots of great animals. Get there early to get on the rides before the big lines. Iron Gwazi is a must if you’re a coaster fan, and Montu is a top notch invert coaster.
A really nice amusement park with a lot of thrilling rollercoasters. They also have a lot to choose from for the little ones that are not tall enough to ride yet. I heard this while in the park from another guest and it sums it up nicely, "It's like an Amusement Park and Zoo at the same time". The train ride to see the animals is a nice break from walking around. And I highly recommend Iron Gwazi and Cheetah costers.
The Food and Wine Festival has a very wide variety of alcoholic beverages. It also has a lot of different foods to try as well as some dessert items. They also have different live music included each day of the event which is Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during its duration.
Rollercoasters were pretty fun, other than some were closed due to maintenance. Animal viewing was fun, birds were close sadly due to avian flu. You could still view from a distance. Food was good at the dragon fire and the pretzels right next the carousel that are handmade were excellent.
Fun and clean. Rides were great, a decent variety for the whole family. Animals were a bonus. Great educational information. Definitely enjoyed it! Food variety was also a nice surprise in each section of the park, and you feel culturally immersed! 👍🏼 …
The crowd was light during spring break which was great. We purchased the hippo encounter, Devi was quite the hippo :). We all got to feed Devi and see her devour a watermelon. I loved that they will take pictures for you and your family with your camera so you don't have to pay a fortune for good photos. Our guide took tons of pictures for us. Definitely worth doing.
I wrote a lot. To sum it up...
- Don't go within a week of holidays.
- Hardly anyone wears a mask.
- Fast passes slow everyone else down and are unfair.
- Animals are treated well.
- During our visit a gator ate a bird.
- Get there 45 minutes early or you will spend longer than that getting a parking spot.
We went in the week of Christmas which was a mistake on our behalf. It was super crowded! Hardly anyone wore masks in the packed full lines (most lines were semi-outside).
What really gets on my nerves are the fast passes. They load around 1/3 of the fast pass people onto a ride and only some normal people. This means that the fast pass people have a 10-20 minute wait time while others wait 4 hours. It slows the lines down a ton. With no fast passes the lines would move so much faster.
I "accidentally" went in the fast pass line and it only took 19 minutes to get on a ride with a 130 minute wait time.
At least make it so fast pass people can only use the fastpass once per ride because they are riding the same ride again and again.
The animals were treated well. We got to see a baby giraffe sit down then stand up with the help of it's mom (super cute).
However, I am pretty sure than a gator are a bird in front of a bunch of kids. I rushed my family on before we saw anything but we heard lots of gasps.
We had a brilliant time, the all you can eat options are brilliant, the park was not super busy. We got on every ride, even 3-4 times. Disney and universal were so disappointing, Busch gardens and the options of the three parks is a great deal and a must do if you can. Overall this was the best experience in Orlando. I would have given it a 5 star but the drinks options on the ticket are all watered down pop, it was like drinking water, which was a little disappointing but overall an amazing day out.
Over the last few years Busch Gardens has really diminished its attractiveness to annual pass holders. Not so bad if you are a visitor to Tampa Bay and only go once. Just don't go on a weekday, because none of the ice skating shows or specific events are happening then. I have never seen more rise shut down for long periods of maintenance time than I have this past year. Multiple rise shut down concurrently for months on end. I won't ever buy an annual pass again! Two decades ago, and even a decade ago, I bought one every year. Sad to see it deteriorate.
Great rides, they pretty much close the park down at 8PM, not 9PM as quoted. Penguins, shows and train ride were awesome. Some things were closed down, skyride, TIGERS exhibit and one rollercoaster. Food a little expensive and all viewing windows should always be clean.
Very nice park. Unfortunately storms were in the area for my visit and I only got to ride one coaster.( was on a time frame ) can't wait to come back and experience the park as it should be..
It was our first time! It was well worth it... Try to go early so you guys can enjoy the park. Very clean and precious animals!
Honestly this park has the most impressive landscaping I've seen! It's a zoo and amusement park in one and it was phenomenal! We went in mid December on a monday and honestly you did not need the fast pass at all! The new ride, iron gwazi, was fantastic and highly recommend! We also had the food pass and honestly it wasn't bad but wish these food passes included a dollar amount for the snack items, it's not often people eat every 90min but we did to get the most out of it. Sucks 2 thrill rides were out of order due to maintenance but will be coming back to ride those and the new swing ride! These tickets are also way cheaper during the holidays compared to Universal and Disney so it's a good steal for a day at amusement park.
Definitely worth being a passholder. The rollercoatsers are all one of a kind. Cheetah hunt is my favorite. The thrill is great but it's very smooth, so you don't feel jerked around. The skip the line pass is worth it especially.if you get the year long one and go mutliple times. My favorite theme park. Plus halloween is fun to go too to. It's an amusement park and a zoo all in one.
While going on a crowded day long lines are expected, 4 big rides shut down at the same time is horrible. It added people to the other lines. Going on a Thursday shouldn't have been that bad. The Iron Gwazi went down after people waited almost 2 hours in line. I don't feel it should cost over $70 (which was discount price from hotel) for lines that are 90-120 minutes as a regular thing. The only reason I didn't awfully regret spending $350 that day was because we got to see animals up close. I feel that as good business practice, when rides shut down after people have waited in line for over an hour, a discount coupon should be given for the time wasted. I don't even think there should be lines of over an hour, worse 2 hours like here. I loved the African theme throughout the park. Very creative how the rides have animal themes. Overall it's beautiful, but not exciting when it comes to rides.
I love this place. I got to ride every roller coaster and I even did some twice!!! One thing I wish I would have known is that they have a chick-fil-a and when we ate we did not know that. It was amazing and you should go!!!
Great food, great shows and just a great experience! "Turn it Up!" ice dance show is a must! Lory landing is amazing fun if you or your kids enjoy animal interaction. All in all a great trip for our family of 7.
Christmas town was fun not as much to do as I remember before but could be the time of day I went. Looks really pretty at night all lit up. There is an ice show, shops, restaurants, lockers,, and stroller rental on site. Parking wasn't to bad to find but if you don't have an annual pass could be pricey.
If you love thrill-filled rides, magical atmosphere and hearing people scream...this is the place! If you live in Florida we recommend getting fun cards which allow you to go all year, it will be worth it by your second visit!
Oh! If you go at the right time (like Summer Nights or select nights during the Holidays) you'll be able to enjoy wonderful fireworks shows!
Unfortunately I can't rate this place a 5 for a few reasons. Many of the rides we wanted to go on were closed. Lots of the free standing food and drink places were closed. The bird aviary was closed...I understand that this time of year is technically still (barely) "the off season in Florida" but it was disappointing. With the beautiful weather in April this place should be ready to go in full form. Most of the rides didn't actually start running until 11am. Why open the gates at 10 then? The food costs are absolutely insane, and this is coming from a New Yorker used to everything being overpriced. 1 popsicle for my son was $6.50. While I don't expect to pay grocery store prices for food/drinks at any amusement park I felt their prices were severely inflated. We are a family of 3 and with purchasing our tickets w/ meal plan and general parking, plus money spent at the park on feeding the Kangaroos, that forementioned popsicle, and few games my son wanted to play it was roughly a $500 day.
There are some positive things to note- highly recommend the Train ride which takes you around the park and you can get on/off at any stop. The tram that takes you from the parking lot to the entrance gate is really nice as well. The animals are beautiful and feeding the Kangaroos was very fun, as they're so gentle and sweet. The park itself is scenic, well maintained, and clean. We did enjoy our visit. But come with a good night's sleep, as you'll be doing a TON of walking. And bring sunscreen and plenty of money because the prices are not for the faint of heart. I recommend buying your tickets and parking ahead of time online to save money. Definitely a great place for Rollercoaster enthusiasts (we aren't) Don't think I'd ever go back, but definitely happy to have gone once.
That’s a great place to visit with all ages kids. But better if you enjoy extreme rides to go with kids ages 8 and up.
For everyone greasers experience was feeding giraffe at safari.
It was 60 extra per person but we enjoyed it so much.
Really fun, I highly recommend to go on all the rides (even if you are a little hesitant it's realllyyyy worth it) I had so much fun with my family and we made wonderful memories ! It was hot because of the summer heat so bring some water!
This was my daughter and I's first time at Busch Gardens, and I have to say we was a bit disappointed. We loved the smokehouses Ribs, but the cheesecake was disgusting. There was not much rides geared toward the tweens. They had rides for teens and adults, and a lot to offer the littles, but my 9-10 year old was sad there wasn't as much for her and her friend to ride. They are not ready for speed and daring rides, but also too old for Elmo. In Pantopia they had a carousel a bit too old for that and a roller coaster (I can't recall the name of at this moment) thankfully the line wasn't long because they got to ride it twice. It would be nice to see more rides geared toward the tweens. My daughter said she would rather go to the local fair and I bought an annual pass for for Busch Gardens. We will try Adventure Island sometime soon. The local fair had the Himalayas, the tilt a whirl, the swings, lots for everyone. I also bought the all day dining for all 4 of us which was 300.00 none of us ate enough for them. So unless you are going for food then I suggest rethinking about buying the all day dining.
We enjoyed the rides, but the ice skating was outstanding, and the food reasonable. The winter show was excellent as it got darker transformed the park!
Love this place! Better than Disney in my opening! Great place to go during the week, lines are short and fast! Well worth the money! Best rides I've ever been on in my life! Been here twice now in the last 4 years. I will definitely look forward to bringing my family back here in the future!
Right now till Jan 2, 2022 they have lights hung all over the park, which are supper pretty in the evening.
Rides were amazing, and splash park was fun. Parent swap program rocks. The only complaint I had was that the family rest area was really stinky. I would not breast feed my child in there.
The Christmas lights were fantastic! We arrived before dark and while the lights were on, you can not really appreciate them until it is getting dark. Make sure you hang around for that .
We arrived around 4pm, and although the sun was out, it was getting cool. So if you go at this time of year wear or bring layers! There were a lot of animals to be viewed and the lions were spectacular! If you get a chance make this happen. Create a memory!
Bush Gardens is one of my best park. Is difficult to choose best from all of the parks in Orlando but definitely is one of my favourite. Great rides, new Iron Gwazi it was great, absolutely breath taking totally different than all rides, very big drop as well.
Cheetah hunt is my best ride 5 ⭐from me. I've been many times and I love it. It's design to give you a feeling of cheetah hunt and I can promise you that it's delivered very well. Is one of the fast rides. Tigris is good but a little bit dated (is one of the oldest ride) little bit squeaky and shaky :) but still worth it to try. Water rides also fantastic but be ready to get soaked on Congo river it's look so innocent but I can tell you that is great fun but you'll get of drenched. Cobra ride wort it to go, great ride as well all thought one of the short rides. Montu great and fun too. Scorpio one of the old great ride but still very popular. Another ride worth it to mantion is Sheikra absolutely great ride definitely you have to go on it.
You can see gorilla's in there, birds and other animals. Very good experience for children. WD have been in second week of September and was pretty empty only Iron Gwazi was the longest wait but we still been able to go twice 😂I just love it great park!!!
Busch is our favorite theme park [other than cedar point] this has the perfect mix of animal attractions and rides. Perfect for the whole family of all ages.
We had a fun day but this park is really showing its age and the staff shortage was apparent- particularly in concessions/food service. So many rides shut down or broken, the poor train was on its last leg, and the long wait for food was ridiculous. Perhaps blame lies on the financial loss during the pandemic and the economy, but given ticket prices I certainly expected a better experience.
We waited sooooooooooo much to get in because of their lack of organization…. Everyone was skipping everyone and there was only on metal/ security entrance…
Now the park is AMAZING is worth every penny and they have Chick-fil-A !!! We had an awesome time..
its so cool the rides are fun, if you like animals but dont wanna spend the money for the safari feeding thing, the train is a great alternative to see the animals and do it for free
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is an absolutely beautiful park with a great lineup of coasters. The new Iron Gwazi is a world class hybrid coaster that probably has the best drop in North America. Sheikra is a B&M dive coaster with really cool theming and a cool water splash down. Cheetah Hunt has some really fun launches but the vest restraints are very uncomfortable. Montu is a B&M invert with unique tunnels and maybe the coolest sound out of any invert. Kumba is a super smooth sit down B&M that dives around the land beautifully. Cobra’s Curse is a Mack spinning coaster with fun theming. You could easily spend 2 days at the park exploring not only the coasters, but the wildlife exhibits. You will not be disappointed in this park!
I would like to review multiple times. It's hit or miss. I was highly disappointed in the bartender that was more interested in the 1 individual girl, than the 17 ppl on line. The lines were short everywhere else but the bar. Christmas town and the rest of the park was well decorated and almost DID feel a little magical. The themed food and beverages were well selected. Shows were appropriate as well and very winter-ery. Expect to spend a lot on anything purchased-but that's to be expected. Gluten-free options are not available, but burgers without buns, grapes, and salads are available. Must request if you need separate gloves/tongs used. They were not very knowledgeable about technique but very happy to help. All staff, in every encounter, was exceptionally helpful and pleasant.
We have season passes and come pretty much every weekend. It's a great way to get some exercise in while being outside of the house. The ride lines are crazy long but thrill seekers are always willing to wait.
The food tastes great but these inflated prices are wild. Getting meals for 4 or 5 people ( not including drinks ) is gonna run you anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars and up.
If you're smart, eat before at some of the surrounding restaurants before you enter and just get drinks in the park.
My daughter and I had a great time visiting Busch Gardens. I am perturbed about the number of attractions that were closed during our visit. Tickets aren't cheap, and to have 7 attractions closed is far too many for the price!! Not to mention $30.....yes I said $30 FOR PARKING!!!! Wow!!
Overall, we had a great time. Minus the Christmas music in January. Hahaha!!
Good place if you have kids, ir like big roller coasters. Otherwise this place is not really worth it. We went with our 5 year old she had a blast
The Rollercoasters are by far the best in the state. The grounds are beautiful. This park sits right in the middle of the city but once you're inside you don't see any of the outside world.
My first time to Busch Gardens and I loved it! I loved the rides, the shops were placed nicely around the grounds. We noticed that by coming when it opens is the best time. We didn’t have to wait to get on the rides until about 1-2pm. I bought a meal ticket and it was hard to find places to eat that accepted it. The place I ate with it had really good chicken strips and waffle fries. And it was really nice to get water from the fountain drink machine with the reusable drink cup. I absolutely loved the animals and how they are placed throughout the park. Just amazing experience and seriously considering a annual pass!
Love BGT! Amazing rides located in a beautifully decorated park. The Serengeti experience in the center of the park makes for some amazing views of spectacular animals. I can’t say enough about the roller coasters! My favorite: Cheetah Hunt, Shiekra, Kumba, and Tigris. Montu is another thriller that makes you feel like you’re going flying off into the air! Plenty of spots to eat at and the park has done a great job with COVID precautions - hand sanitizer available throughout the park. I was able to get there this past Christmas holiday and loved all of the beautiful light features. Tons of parking with a quick shuttle to the park. We bought fast passes but on the day we were there we didn’t really need them.
I bought a Tampa CityPASS which included visit to Bush Gardens. The park wasn’t too crowded as it was a Wednesday and school is not out.
The staff was very friendly and I enjoyed the train ride around the park. The landscape could use work as it’s not very well kept. I opted not to ride any rides so cannot comment.
Better value than Disney. Busch Gardens is very generous to military veterans and provides free tickets once a year. Thank you!!! Crowds even on a holiday weekend are not that bad. The shows are a must. Cirque Electric and Turn it up are top notch shows that will have you on the edge of your seat. Lots to do for all ages.
After 5 years we got Passes again. Went New Years Day. Tram stop running when we arrived so we had to walk. The Christmas Tree out Front was half lit. Sorry. Disney or Universal would never let this happen. The park just isn’t kept up like it use to be but we had fun.
Update: January 7th we went back. The tree looked like it was fixed a Lilly but boy does the park need a deep cleaning. We were in line to eat and the Dan was off. It was so gross. So just imagine when the fan is on and all that does is flying all over your food what’s happening?
had an amazing time. if you're staying for just a day or two, i would reccomend the all-day dining pass, as its only about $45 (adult). the food otherwise is really expensive, but you can eat every 90 minutes, and you get an entree, side or dessert and a drink! the train station that takes you around the serengeti is amazing for seeing the animals. the rides are amazing, too. overall, more oriented for 8 and up but for the younger kids there is a sesame street part of the park, however it's further into the park. the signs at busch gardens are confusing somewhat, so i would recommend having the busch gardens app which shows you exactly where to go and the shortest way. the shows at busch gardens are amazing as well!!
Visited on 9/22/22 (a Thursday) solely for coasters. First visit since I was 7 or 8 years old (late 80s).
All coasters were running well. Iron Gwazi and Cheetah Hunt were my hands down standouts. Ride operations dispatch times seemed a little slow but that didn't matter because the park was gloriously empty everything was walk on ALL DAY (of course you still might wait a few minutes for front row). Waited the longest for the rapids ride lol (maybe 10 minutes). I originally planned on buying quick queue but glad I waited to scope it out first. It's easy to buy quick queue at kiosks right outside coaster queue entrance if it becomes necessary.
I found a deal online for 1 day park admission + all day dining. I dont even eat much at parks but I probably drank the value in water alone. Food wasn't great (combo at Dragon Fire Grill's Asian station and tenders/fries from Zagora Cafe) but tasted alot better considering I didn't pay that much for it.
The park was *gorgeous*, clean, well themed and maintained and IMO definitely gives BG Williamsburg tough competition in the beauty department.
I was surprised by just how many animal exhibits there are. The animals seemed healthy, happy and well cared for. A few habitats seemed small but please remember we may only be seeing a portion of what is ultimately available to the animals over a 24 hour period during non operating hours.
It’s a fun park, but without many entertainment options besides from the rides. Some of them are pretty straightforward, but others do manage to surprise you. Shiekra wasn’t as thrilling as I expected, but Tigris and the Cobra were amazing. I’d definitely spend my time in Universal, though
Wonderful food and Christmas atmosphere especially the show that included the true Christmas carols about the birth of Christ. Two employees were especially helpful during the day (incl. one named Gyro). Its always a great day at Busch Gardens.
Fun amusement park with live animals and exhibits. Be prepared to wait in line for quite some time for the rides. Outside of each ride, there is a display that tells approximately how long the wait is for the ride. There are also games to play like you'd see at a carnival or fair. The food is quite expensive so I'd also recommend getting the all day dining pass for groups of 3 or more people. The libes for food become quite long so try to eat early (10am) or late afternoon to try to avoid long food lines. It's easy to see why people get 2 day passes. There's enough to see and do to last for 2 days.
It's a theme park, so there's that. Wednesday in August after school started, totally packed. What? Not the fault of the park, but it was tough waiting 50 minutes for a ride in 95 degrees. Still and all, herding was orderly (a plus), the college kid loved the coasters (rated them mostly as "wild rides"), and we're locals with discounts so overall can't complain. Minus a star for the hard core sales everywhere you looked, and for randomly having things closed with no explanation. But plus for the animals being cared for- underwater hippo, pretty awesome!
Loads of fun! Favorite rides were cheetah hunt, sheikra, scorpion, and a step above everything else was iron gwazi. Most busy at midday but lines died down in the evening. Get the free refill cup for $20 and share. Chick fil a was reliable good food. We also enjoyed the many animals, like the hippo that would walk beside the glass
I very much enjoyed my time at Busch Gardens Tampa. Sadly the train was not working properly nor was the Skyride. Also, there were not many shows going on. It might be the time of year...as I know they are prepping for Hallowscream. I very much enjoyed the animals and noticed there were improved food options since the last time I was there. There are some very new cool rides such as Iron Gwazi, Cobras Curse and Tigris. If you live nearby I do recommend the annual pass, you will save a lot on parking! Plus you get 10% off of food.
I really enjoyed the park. Get there nice and early to get on your favorite rides, it gets busy pretty fast. Overall, the rides were great and so were the animals
Fun theme park. For me, it was a mixture of Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm, and San Diego Wild Animal Park...All in one location. Just need to add more coasters.
I personally don't really ride Rollercoasters but my kids and family does they had a blast! And the zoo train ride was awesome as well.
Every time we visit we have such a good time. This time around we went during the Christmas festivities and they had lots of photo opportunities.
The thing I love the most about Bush Gardens is that I don't have to wait around for my family who loves roller-coasters. I usually walk around looking at the animals. I love that there is a little bit of everything for the whole family. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Tampa with family.
Good mix of wildlife, walking, rides, food, & drinks. We have season tickets so able to come as often as we like so frees us up to decide which rides to go on depending on the waiting time. Would recommend sports wear that dries fast if planning on going on any water rides. Beware that with high humidity, denim will not dry!! Prepare for chafing 😭 but there is options if you get caught out - plenty of stores to buy clothing and with being a gold member, you get 30% off merchandise 🥳🥳 returning soon for Howl-a-scream - can't wait!!
Busch Gardens has been the family spot for the past 18 years. Visiting when my sons were first born to this past weekend at the ages of 16 and 18. They is always something new to see or experience. This past weekend we attended to see the Busch Gardens Real Music Series featuring The Kings of Queen. What a great show in the Stanleyville Theater.
I was a little said to see so many things closed. The Stanley Falls Flume, Skyride, and Falcon’s Fury. Check the website before going to see if your favorite will be down for maintenance or remodel.
Another great trip for us, Christmas Town had some changes from last year but pretty similar. We love looking at the lights from the rides and all the tree lights. Definitely recommend the all day meal pass and get BBQ all day. Best bang for your buck.
Tickets for family 300, gifts and souvenirs 100, seeing gorilla pee and orang utan eat, PRICELESS. For any occasion Busch garden is family fun.
I've been going to Busch Gardens since the 1980s! Always something new every time we visit. Iron Gwazi is a fantastic addition, the best rollercoaster I have ever been on. There is something for everyone at Busch Gardens, including the ever-present Stanley Falls and train around the Serengeti. The free beer was a welcome surprise, reminding me of the Anheuser Busch days.
The food in the Smokehouse was first class- highly recommend the brisket washed down with a Tampa Bay blonde ale in the bar overlooking the giraffes opposite Cheetah Hunt.
My only disappointment was finding a 5% surcharge added to my bill for food and drinks- what is this for I wonder?
I found the park clean, well maintained with happy, helpful staff on ride operations.
Quick queue is worth the additional expense if you don't visit regularly as we were able to ride all the major attractions during our one day visit.
All in all a fantastic family day out!
Always have lots of fun coming to this park… love seeing the animals! My favorite ride is Cheetah Hunt 🤩 I enjoy everything about the park! Also the pretzel dog, yum!!!!
If you are an adult going for the day do the Dine All Day pass! You will be 100% full! Enjoy the wildlife too… don’t pass it up! We have platinum passes.
Visited on vacation from Illinois. Overall experience was good. The rides I got to ride were great. Iron Gwazi was intense, I definitely recommend it. The Montu was also a very good ride. I recommend Cobra's Curse too, it's a very different experience and the rotating seats and going down backwards was fun. My only bad experience was the Tigris. I rode most of the park with no problems, the operator of the Tigris told me I had to remove my eyeglasses to ride. Explaining that I've had them on for every ride and that I can't see without them he made me get off. I can't see without them so what fun would it be to ride it without them? No other ride in the park made me remove them. I left the park early after that, because it just killed my mood as Tigris was the ride I wanted to ride the most, and the reason for picking Tampa as a vacation spot over anywhere else. I would've gave it 5 stars had that not happened.
SOOOO MUCH FUN!! the lines weren’t even that long- definitely will come back to get on the rides again. the animals were so cool and really enjoyed the fact they were out so we were able to see them. 100% recommend the CityPass so you can skip ahead and get a bang for your buck (:
Great place to take my two boy's. I'd have given 5 stars..but, the parking situation is atrocious and people should HAVE to wear masks In the food area.
That was a thrill! I had so much fun with the rides and attractions with my cousins today, including getting a LOT of Pokémon with Pokémon GO today during the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 global event.
The rollercoasters especially made me wake up today while I was at the park, along with the many amounts of food I was able to eat as well. There are so many clean restaurants and rest areas all around the park for anyone to experience.
I bought a day pass with meals included every 90 minutes for $109. Fun day! Got to see everything and ride all the rollercoasters except for 2 that were closed due to maintenance. Our tour guides were on point all day. Thanks, Leti and my nephew Leon Wingfield for a memorable day! 👍🏽👊🏽
First time here, but already got the Platinum pass a few weeks prior (killer discounts). Lots of things to see and extra excursions you can buy. Feed the kangaroos, get cups of liquid bird food and let them dive bomb you, or stroll on to the next ride.
A good blend between coasters and animals. A great day out with tons to do. Was very quiet when I was there, meaning most rides you could walk on. Rollercoasters are great with tons of variety and some of the worlds best such as Iron Gwazi and Cheetah Hunt. Animals there such as the Cheetahs, Wallabis and Flamingos were cool to see and the Cheetah run talk was the main animals themed event I’d love to see again. A great day and would love to go back again.
Went to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay on Monday 8/8/22.
At time of opening the only coaster that was running for the first hour was Gwazi with a 75 non quick queue wait. No other coaster started running until 11AM.
Many rides were closed for unexpected maintenance. As of right now the following coasters are closed with no estimation when they will reopen.
* Falcon's Fury
* Scorpion
* Grand Carousel
* Cheetah Hunt
* Kumba
* Cobra's Curse
Unfortunately it was a pretty mediocre experience for close to $500 for 4 adults, quick queue and parking. Especially disappointing as we saved for this end of summer trip choosing Busch Gardens vs Universal Studios.
I have been to Busch Gardens before and this time it made me feel half way. Park seemed to be open half way, with so many unfinished, closed or just worn down equipment. Hope to see some updates soon.
Had an amazing time here! The African train ride was my favorite part! My only complaint is that a lot of rides, restaurants, and experiences were not open on 4/13.
The Halloween event was awesome. Most of the rides were open and the family had a great time. I would highly recommend. The best ride was probably the tiger one.
Not organized, lines were to long, 1/2 of the rides were closed, no one to help with directions, not much food choices for pre-paid food tickets.
On the plus side the animals were awesome!!!
Fantastic park that just needs a few Tweaks.
I have visited this park multiple times over the past 4 years, and there are many things they do right. They have a fantastic lineup of Rollercoasters, featuring one of the greatest hybrid coasters on the planet, a world class inverted coaster, and a great supporting lineup. The animal and zoological operations are top notch, with a fantastic emphasis on rehabilitation.
I find the food and drink situation to be fairly average, with the prices being on the high side. If you plan to stay all day, especially if the park is open past 5PM, buying all day dining is a financial no brainier, especially since it includes fountain drinks. The operations at check out of major dining locations has been consistently understaffed or slow during peak meal times.
The biggest areas they can improve on are ride operations . Many of the coasters will have Dispatch times that are double to triple the potential dispatch interval. While I give them a pass on Iron gwazi, as RMC trains present a challenge, the slow load times on cheetah hunt and all the B&Ms can be frustrating to witness, especially after coming down the highway from Universal or Disney.
All in all, this is a park that any themepark and/or coaster enthusiast should absolutely visit.
Went to do the Christmas town event, first time going and wasn't highly impressed. Some attractions were down, which caused longer lines for other rides. Mainly just a lot of walking around which the select areas of lights were pretty, but it's not through the whole park. On top of $30 for parking, we didn't eat at the park. I wasn't a fan of having to pay almost $50+ for 3 burgers plus the cost of drinks. There definitely could be some upgrades to the park all around.
Busch Gardens is even better now than I remember as a kid! I had more fun (I think) than my kids did on this trip! Cheetah Hunt is on my top 5’s list.
Amazing amazing rides! If you’re looking for adrenaline rush: this is the place. The thing is that it needs to be updated. The park has deteriorated spaces, bathrooms, equipments, entertainment and even the rides (the old ones anyways). Also the Sesame Street part for younger kids was kind of forgotten. It made me feel a bit sad because it has all the potential to be an outstanding park.
The new iron gwazi coaster is the best rollercoaster I've ever been on! Great rides, clean, nice staff. Too many things closed though today.
Still a great place to go. Numerous thrill rides. Awesome animal exhibits to see. My only complaint was, a certain ride was closed this day. Before you go to the park check what rides are closed for the day.
For the African safari!!! Our guide was wonderful. It was late in the day and only saw one that wanted to be fed but he was happy! Go early for more animals! But it was great.
Great park at this time year and week we walked straight onto every ride. Every ride that was open that is. But great day out
Great park with awesome rides. I highly recommend to get the food pass. Totally worth it. You can eat every 90 minutes. The rides were amazing.
I love Busch Gardens, some of the best rollercoasters in Florida, plus lots of animals to see, and to top it off it is usually a bit quieter than the Orlando parks (I qued for 15 minutes to get on Iron Gwazi)
I haven’t been to this place in YEARS !!!
They’ve done a great job keeping it in good condition.
It’s definitely a “Coaster” lover’s park !
Although, it does have just about everything for everyone to enjoy a day of getaway !!
Super awesome and fun place whether you’re a thrill seeker or not! There’s lots of stuff to do and see other than just the rides (which are SO fun!!) Annual passes are the way to go because of all the perks/benefits and discounts.
There's not enough stars to highlight. This is included in the City pass. My whole family fell in love with the animals and rides. Decent snack food. Not budget friendly. No cooler lunch in the parking lot as you have to take a trolley to and from enter and exit. Two tall corona cans and bag of combs 32bucks. 😲🙄.
It was really fun spending a day in Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. I used to work in Busch Gardens Williamsburg and spend my days off there having fun, and I have visited the park few times after as well. Make sure you buy the express pass because you will save lot of time skipping the very long lines. Save money on food and gifts if you have, but get the pass.
There is many animals that you will see. I think the gorilla was interacting with the crowd
Kids really enjoyed the park! Live animals, train rides, and children's roller coasters, enough said! Food is gross though and everything is overpriced.
This place is fire. The roller-coasters are thrilling, and will make you scream. I highly recommend this place if you love roller-coasters.
Went to the dragon's restaurant/theater in pantopia and Padricia was THE MOST AMAZING woman I've met on this vacation! She was extremely attentive and kind when I had an allergic reaction, she took immediate action and cared for me well. The experience was amazing!
Such a fun park!
So much coasters for the family, and intense coasters. Great animals and the layout is great! Love seeing the girrafes.
We were only able to see the shows Turn it up and Cirque Electric since it down poured, but those were awesome shows!! Such a great new addition! We always love coming to Busch Gardens 💖
We absolutely love the park and attractions here best decision to head here in the off season we had almost no wait and got on everything multiple times.
Always a great time to come to busch gardens. We always have fun no matter what. Always seems like the line to park is so long and how can they possibly have room for everybody in the park but I assure you they have plenty of room so everybody's not all over everyone. I would definitely recommend the quick pass tho otherwise you will be standing in line for quite some time. All in all it's a good time with the family or the whole family.
Just a bit disappointing at this Busch Gardens compared to the one in Williamsburg VA. Beautiful park and very clean....however during our visit only one roller-coaster seemed to be operating consistently called Montu. We waited in line for Cobra's Curse...almost four more cycles and we would have got to ride it. Stood in line for Cheetah Hunt....but it also closed. I would have given it five stars wasn't for a lot of the rides being closed. Paid hundred to get in and twenty-five to park and rode Montu and the trams to and from the parking lot. Was not worth it.
Free veteran tickets with 3 guests. I can't say thank you enough Bush Gardens takes care of their vets. The park has changed a bit since my last visit but still a fun day Got on the rides with a relatively small wait time. The employees always willing to help or answer a question.
Nice theme park to visit and for kids and ride an authentic train but usually a bunch of attractions and food stands are closed so be ready for that
This is a beautiful park! Atleast compared to the six flags I have by me. Coasters are definitely the star of the park, In fact didn't really notice any flat rides outside of the kids area. We went on a Tuesday in August and longest wait was prob about 50 min with most in about 15-30 minutes, which isn't too bad. From about 11-4 we got every coaster bit 1 that was closed, did one.coastsr twice, did a water ride, ate, and viewed animals and gift shops. Parking is expensive at $25 but we parked right next to the shuttle so was quick to get in. Save money and get the city go pass, we got the park, 2 aquariums, a zoo, and a sunset dolphin cruise for only $120 a person.
It was a fun time at Busch Gardens! I haven’t been in over a decade.. the kids had a blast!
The food was not the best part.. if you are hungry, grab the pizza and drinks on the second floor of one of the buildings.. if you go to food court for burgers and fries.. you probably won’t be happy..
Other than food.. if you are looking for huge rides.. and fun games.. we had an amazing time! The park was not overcrowded.. and the staff there were all nice. I would def recommend making a trip to the park any day of the week!
Busch Gardens is a phenomenal amusement park/wildlife park that appeals to a wide range of park goers. There are plenty of thrills for teens and adults. Loads of activities for younger kids- including a Sesame Street themed area. Beautiful landscaping. And so many animals to view from afar and up close. The only downer I have is that 3 of their huge attraction roller coasters were down! And it was the 3 big ones. Iron Gwazi has yet to open, so I get that. But Montu and Sheikra being down at the same time for an extended period sucked! My whole group was very disappointed. Why not wait to close one when the other was back up and running? I also highly recommend getting the All Day Dining pass as the food is outrageously expensive. Having 2 meals with the pass is well worth it.
We went for the Christmas lights more than the rides. I was not disappointed but expected there to be more lights. Like over the top lights. And there wasn't. It was pretty. And there were lots of lights but in my opinion there could have been alot more.
Christmas lights were amazing, very busy today however we are locals and pass holders so still highly recommended!
Loved it, although a bunch of the rides were closed.
Lots of cute animals (although the tiger didn't look too impressed, lots of pacing back and forth)
Excellent turkey leg! We enjoyed the awesome new coaster (Montu). The Mardi Gras band was PHENOMENAL! The park was noticeably cleaner than previous visits. Wait times were good. Animals were visible. My only complaints - Several rides and attractions were closed down and food & beverage prices were a bit high. All in all, a great day.
A lot of fun rollercoasters and family friendly things. Many animals and interactive experiences 😀 I went on a Monday afternoon in mid December and only waited in line 5-10 min for each ride 🙏🏻 I highly recommend!
The animals all seemed happy, and the roller coasters are fun, I recommend getting here earlier in the day, because the roller coaster lines get very long very quickly.
Went on a Tuesday August 23rd. Park was empty every ride was 5 minutes or less. Main entrance was a a little hard to find depending on what direction you are coming from, you see the sign that’s in one of my photos & it makes you think that’s the entrance, but it’s the service entrance. Train safari was great, seen a lot of animals
The park was clean but NOTHING was open. Couldn't grab even a beverage. We came for the Christmas Town and was told it "doesn't happen till 4pm". Then what's the point? Not everyone can or wants to come here later in the day. Very disappointed and it's why I won't renew my annual pass. One highlight was the baby Rhino "Potato".
Had a blast with friends and family at passholder Howl-o-scream nights! Keeping the rides running on a special event night is industry standard, but ride operations didn't slack despite the event. Managed to go through all of the houses, F&B was open with signature drinks and fast service despite some training hiccups. 8/10. I am glad to have it as my home park. Also the Fae scare zone really showed love and care in the costume department.
Very fun lots to do.. reads are great.. lots of thrills and good food.. recommend food passes as u get to eat every hour or get a drink. How ever the picture package was a joke. Through out the day we kept being told cameras are down or the ride don't have cameras.. and at the end of the day my wife sent 45 waiting while the man at the counter was trying to figure out how to print pictures. Save the money. I will say the price was way cheaper than universal.
All of the rides were great, we really liked the train ride through the animal enclosure. Giraffes came right up to us as we slowly rode by on the train cars. The entire park was very clean and well kept.
Normally we love coming here but sadly it seems even Busch Gardens is having issues (like many businesses, these days) with employee retention and food stock....
We came for the Summer Nights and were surprised (& disappointed) at how few things were open (including habitats and food/drink vendors).
I mean, they *KNOW* people are going to be in the park til 10 pm (in Florida summertime temps around 100 degs)- why so few drink vendors? Why are the ones open operating with so few employees that lines are ridiculous? Why are they out of product (ie churros) at 630 pm--and not making more? Why are restaurants out of 1 of only 2 sides they offer (burger restaurant with fries only, no mac&chs), and out of a major part of a main course (Asian restaurant with no noodles or rice?!)...was almost laughable if not for the outrageous cost of it all. Their food used to be surprisingly good for a theme park, not now.
Equally bummed that Iron Gwazi showed *0* wait time yet once inside it was 50 minutes!--def would've used Quick Queue had we known.
On the scale of First World probs, it wasn't terrible-- was a night out at least, with nice fireworks-- just disappointed by the rest.
Lessons learned: byo water & snacks (&/or eat beforehand); use quick queue!
Me and my love Saundra had a wonderful day. Can't wait to come back. The rides were awesome, but I appreciate the workers and how they are very nice to people. The park is clean, secure and safe. The food is very good too. Thank you.
Our family did the Gorilla experience it was amazing
To to see how the staff train and care for the Gorillas
With the least amount of interaction for the safety and well being of the trainers and the animals.
The trainer and staff were amazing and the animals reflect that !
We also did the Safari experice it was also amazing
Same with staff and animals !!
We went the week during Mardi gras on a Monday. Parking was easy, staff was friendly , park was clean ….we were disappointed however to have so many closed attractions with us paying full price tickets.
Shekra
Log rides
Tree top trails
Bird exibits- both
Sky ride
The phoenix
Myombie reserve
Montue
And not to mention 90% of the little snack huts. Aside from that. It is a bear park and felt like a zoo and amusement park combined.
Always have a great time. The only thing is that this is one of the Seaworld parks where you can see they choose not to do the upkeep on, like paint on the buildings.
We loved all the roller coasters & animals but it was a slow day and we paid extra for the all day food bracelets when we bought tickets but they shut all the food down within an hour if us getting there, then wouldn't refund it. Really disappointed in that part of our experience. A lot if the exhibits & skyride were also shut down, the employees said fir the last year so I assume for COVID-19 precautions. Too bad we paid $119 for my wife, kids & I to be able to eat there and couldn't get any food.
The rides are some of the best I've ever been on. It's just a place you don't want to leave!
Super fun park. Make sure to get there early to avoid long lines. I loved Tigris, Sheikra and Monty were my favorite. Stay hydrated!
Nice park with plenty to do but lacking organization in lines. Not as many shows as I would have hoped. The food was okay. Bathrooms were relatively clean.
Had a fabulous 3 day long Adventure at Busch Gardens . Can’t wait until my next adventure!!! The animals and staff are absolutely Amazing!!!
Super fun place, must go if in Tampa, need a whole day, four of five huge roller coaster rides that were absolutely amazing experience, good choice of food available inside, lot of watering holes for summer weather, lots of kids activity that can be done, beautiful animals in different parts of the park. Ample parking (paid though), on the expensive side but worth it if you have the time to explore it fully
LOVE this place! Absolutely a great place to visit when in Tampa, you won't regret it. The prices for admission are fair and the staff is knowledgeable. I love the theme and environment; a mix of nature and fun. Which is what their logo symbolizes! It's a roller coaster tree, pretty interesting. The park has some interesting history behind it. I also like how it's a nice park but it's not overly big and not very small. With events throughout the year it makes coming to Busch Gardens exciting every time!
Went to Busch on 12/24/2022. The weather in Tampa was cold. Most attractions were closed.I understand the cold weather and some attractions closed, I took opportunity to look at the fauna and flora that Busch has to offer.
My son had a blast! The staff was warm and friendly. Thank you Busch Gardens, keep up the good work👍🏽 …
A great place to enjoy with family, especially on a Holiday season. These guys really impressed with so many things to do besides riding rollercoasters.
Why when it’s this busy would you be running 1 train on Gwazi (it was also shut down half the night) and a number of others?? Your line is insane! We literally move 3 feet every 5 minutes! Plus half the Christmas lights are out on so so much. Just look closely. Get the dinner plan because alone it’s like average $30 a meal. HOWEVER Zambia Smokehouse meal (pictured below minus the beer was $43.92) Oh and restaurants are dirty. Unacceptable Busch Gardens ON A HOLIDAY weekend!
Absolutely amazing park, so much fun 😁. One of the best selection of roller coasters in florida. My favorite roller coaster is sheikra, great place to go with your friends and also I can't imagine doing the park without the fast pass through. I was surprised to see the amount of animals in the park 🦍🦧🦁🐯🐆🦓🦒🦏 …
First time here, was pleasantly surprised. Had a blast on some of the rides! Only bad thing I tried out the lockers, and paid the $8 for 2 hours to be able to switch to another location, and it did not work. Wasn't too happy about that better off putting it in a centally located locker for $2 for 2 hours.
If you want to go ride some rollercoasters and see some animals it is the park to attend. They have some of the best coasters in Florida. Iron Gwazi being my favourite.
Our family LOVES Busch Gardens!!! If you live anywhere around the Tampa area or even surrounding areas then having passes and fun cards are such a great investment. This park surpasses ANY theme park in FL and beyond in thrills and entertainment. The rides have really decent wait times, there are so many roller coasters as well as family rides and rides for kids. There is always some special event going on like summer nights, food and wine festival, Mardi Gras, Howl o Scream, Christmastown etc…some big name bands will come during the music series and food and wine festival as well. The food is pretty good and If you are an animal lover there is plenty here for you to see. This park will forever have my heart and be a family go to to make awesome memories.
Definitely a Fun experience! We bought silver year passes and this is my first time coming! Food is expensive (it's an amusement park so duh). The rides weren't to long considering how busy they were. All in all a 3.5 but Ill round up for the 99¢ refill cups :D
Busch Gardens has an uphill battle when it comes to competing with Universal and Disney. But they're doing a good job hitting a niche that the other two can't match - roller coasters. And while it's a beautiful park with fantastic access to actual wild animals, rides are why most people visit a theme park. But don't sleep on the animals. You get close and there are a lot of them. Their serengeti area rivals many zoos.
I won't rank their roller coaster top to bottom, but I will say my group enjoyed Cheetah Hunt the most and found Iron Gwazi to be at the very top tier of intensity. If you're prone to blackouts, this ride isn't for you! There are plenty of rides for all ages, too, including small children. There is a cool little Sesame Street area.
But for the big kids there are 5 or 6 coasters here that are at the same level, or higher, than anything at the other two big parks.
Food was of typical quality for a theme park. Some of the buildings and bathrooms are getting a little long in the tooth. Entry tickets, food, drinks, and merch - all astronomically expensive. Again, typical theme park stuff. You know this going in.
This is going to be a once or twice a year sort of place for my family. It cuts to the chase and gets you right to the thrills.
Had a blast, always when with my family , no matter where we are. We picked a day (sunday) when the weather was perfect. The lines were long. But we appreciate that GOD has bless us to get the annual passes to go again and again to experience the other parts of the park another day.
Florida resident special.
Hey we love the animals at this park. 💯 When we bought these tickets and came to the park we were not informed that the park was under extensive renovation. I work in construction . I go to visit a place like Busch gardens to relax. We did not go there to be in a work atmosphere. . Of our trip to Tampa 🤔 our Busch gardens visit was lackluster.
I had a great time at bush gardens. I enjoyed the rides, seeing all the animals, and the gift shops.
Awesome park for whole family - Vegas style shows and a gorgeous garden on the south end where we stayed for the fireworks. The zoo and especially the train through the 'savannah' section is unique - gets you in the middle of the animals, got close ups of the rhinos, giraffe, etc. Coasters were a hit with the older kids - and lines were not long on Friday.
Nice place to enjoy. So many rides are available. Nairobi station ride is free and unlimited.
We have family passes, and it's always a fun adventure when we make a weekend trip. We rode quite a few roller coasters and seen a lot of animals! We are already planning our next trip!
What a beautiful day. Fresh paint was in the air. I had a curious Penguin spend some time with me. Happened along this group of Giraffes. That's a postcard. Oh. They have rides too! Lol.
This is one of the big amusement park for full day activities. Get on the ride itself take a lots of time which keeps you in the queue most of the time. Train ride is nice much informative about different wild species around the world. Safari ride is an Add on you need to purchase on the top of your ticket. Lots of restaurants and shopping places inside but quite expensive so if you are planning to get here you can have your home food. Kids rides are pretty good.
Loved the park all lit up for Christmas. Not a 5, because I was disappointed some of the food items were out. Like the mushroom tarts and the tarts and cupcakes. The whiskey cream liquor, though, was delicious!
Truly disappointed they didn't have any animals out and we paid all that money. The face paint wasn't anyone there by sesame street. We went on train to see one white rhino.Alot of shops were closed. They should let people know that the animals won't be out due to covid.I need my money back!!! It was hot and not raining that day really dissatisfied.
So much fun. They have animals and rides. Perfect for all age groups.
Excellent theme Park for the older kids and Adults with lot's of rollercoasters, also a lovely steam train ride through the park with loads of different wildlife. A word of warning if you go on the Iron Gwazi it's not for the faint hearted !!!! 😫🤢😫😖. Food and drink wise the Turkey leg was good but everything else is pretty standard in all the parks as processed chicken and over priced in my opinion and not very many coffee shops.
LOVE Busch Gardens. They have so many cool rides and things to do! Got there right when they opened so got a good parking spot and we took the shuttle to the door which made it nice. We went and rode all the good rides right away before they got super busy. We didn’t even get to ride everything bc they shut down for a storm so we had to walk back to car since they close the shuttle when they close the rides too! We got the Fun Passes so we’ll definitely be back.
Great reasonable price for entertainment for the full family. Cheaper than Disney and the zoo with rides makes a perfect get away once or 100 times
Loved everything was great I had a great fun day especially all the roller coasters and the animals, kind of humid but I loved it ❤️
Had an amazing day! Beautiful weather. Rode all the major roller coasters.
We had so much fun here the kids loved it. We could eat in the park with no problem. one of the best barbecues that I have eaten at a amusement park.
We had the best time!
Our group was made up of people 20 -35 years old.
We went on Monday December 12th and all the lines were basically just a 5 minute wait and we got to ride each rollercoaster 2-3 times.
The weather was also great and even a little chilly.
We loved all the rollercoasters but our favorite were:
- Tigris
-cobra’s curse
-cheetah hunt
-iron gwazi
- we wished Sheikra was open though
We also enjoyed seeing lots of animals up close including the cheetah run, kangaroos and alligators. It seemed like a great place for children to have fun and interact with animals too and found it more relaxed and less overwhelming than the Disney parks.
I would give it a 5 star review but the food quality is terrible in most restaurants.
Bought the all day dining ticket for 3 parks and paid like $200 bucks for all 3. You can eat every 90 mins, so you bet that's what we did. When you're at a park like this sometimes one line can be 90 mins so that's the hard part. Are you gonna only ride a single ride each time and eat. We were also battling rain and lightning, it's FL so what do you expect? Overall it's a great experience and will be back. The rides were awesome I hadn't been back since high school which was like 13 yrs ago, wow. They have a new ride that's the scariest thing ever and I loved every minute of it.
By far the best park in the entire country in my opinion for thrillseeker/animal lovers. Amazing coasters (My all time favorite's Kumba and Iron Gwazi). Amazing animals. Very well themed. Good prices especially for Pass Members because of the discounts. SeaWorld Parks are always very clean and very well kept. I love everything about Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Such an incredible park.
Please don't ever get rid of Kumba 🎢
We love this park! Great coasters, awesome seasonal events! And even has animals!
A different park than twenty years ago.
No more Clydesdales or Free beer.
A money-grubbing corporation called Sea World runs it now, it's all about the profits, not the people. $50 for lunch for three!
Our experience was great. We weren't able to experience everything but we had fun. The fireworks at the end of the night was the cherry 🍒 on top.
Perfect place to go with your family and spend a good time together, be prepare to walk a lot ,and if you are visiting I recomend to rent and Airbnb close to the park ,😄😁 because when you get of the park you will be done😁🤭
Had a wonderful time not to many people the weather was not hot and the Christmas lights were on. Also the type of music they played threwout the park was wo derful very peaceful nothing loud and wild. Me and my family truly did enjoy ourselves and I don't like all these amusement parks.
Excellent experience, it was one of the parks, if not the best in Orlando. The best rides include: Tigris, Iron Gwazi, cheetah. Definitely worth it.
I really enjoyed this place. There was no lines I went on every roller coaster and only wait about 10 minutes.
It was amazing. . . Was there all day and still didn't get to do everything the park has to offer. . . Definitely need to visit again
Amazing theme park. Go here if you want to splurge, but make sure to have a plan and not walk from the back to the front then back again to get a ride we missed. lol.
A must visit if you're in the Tampa Bay area! We live in Sarasota but hold season passes to busch gardens (They are super cheap for Florida residents).
Most of the food is mediocre, like typical theme parks but the drinks are great! And scattered around the park well. Never short a drink stop. The merchandise is overpriced but much cheaper with a season pass discount in hand!
One of our favorite theme parks! The beautiful gardens, fantastic coasters, and excellent customer service have us returning again and again.
Awesome rides, home to Iron Gwazi, best coaster of the over 250 that I've ridden. Awesome varieties of animals, great animal exhibits. They have an awesome ice skating show as well.
Visited during Spring Break. All roller coasters had about a 2 hour wait. Iron Gwazi also just opened. It’s my favorite coaster now, totally worth the trip.
Busch Gardens is always fun and amazing place to visit. They have a couple of new exhibits that are good. Of course crowded as usual but not to bad on a Saturday. Always enjoy Busch Gardens but starting to get very pricey
Favorite theme park! The day we went there were no wait lines, we walked on to every ride! So much to do, not enough time. Wish they didn't close at 6 during the week.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time! The grounds are kept up and clean. It is known for having beautiful greenery. The rides were awesome!! I will say the rides were about an hour wait. We bought quick queue passes and it was worth every penny. We only bought the quick queue for day 1. We were able to do every major ride. Day 2. We went around and looked at all the animals and got on the rides we liked the best. There is so much to do in this park. You could definitely spend two days there.
One of the best perks of having our passes was having our family join us recently. While it was super hot, we made the most of it. There is a good amount of stuff to do at this park whether you love roller coasters (my sisters highly recommend Kumba!), love to see animals (go on the train, and enjoy the beautiful Asian elephants! Or love to spend time with your kiddos, there’s a fun carousel and a lot of kid friendly rides.
One of the big issues we had was the parking lot. We were in the platinum pass lot, and there are no parking attendants over here, every man for himself, which is fine, but due to the flow of traffic - it’s impossible to see out with cars parked to the end, and teeny tiny lanes to swerve in and out of. Then when we are leaving, the exit sign points right but guests parked all the way to the end so you have to pray no one hits you as you pull into a row to be able to exit.
Then as you drive back over to the main lot, the attendants over there are directing traffic for the buses but not for incoming or exiting traffic. Super stressful. I enjoy coming to this park but please invest in your parking lots to make entering/exiting less stressful.
Long wait time if you haven't purchased a ticket online. We bought 2 beers for $20. Be prepared to spend some $$.
Easy to see why this is a destination while Six Flags here at home in Dallas is not!!
Clean, well kept, great food and service, cetc
I don’t like rollercoasters but I love it here! Loved the animals it’s like a miniature zoo! The food is really good and the eat all day pass is such a must!! The Christmas lights are a nice touch 🎢🤩 …
Went on a Monday, no crowd, no wait for rides, hit all the coasters, great day, can't wait to come back!
we had a good time but sadly, most of the rides had been closed down due to the weather when we went there close to the end of the night
Great place to come and visit, good for kids and grow ups, definitely get tickets in advance and food is great.
We did the Hal-O-Scream event.
We had a few cocktails that were about $14 to $16 each.
The edible, flavored straws are a nice touch, they kind of got melted after a bit, but were cool. (photo)
The lines to get in the haunted houses were at the most 10 minutes, most didn't have much a wait at all.
The roller coasters we did, ShiKra & Scorpion, didn't have a wait.
We saw an advertisement for a light up necklace you could purchase for $15 that is $10 that indicated you didn't want to be scared. (photo)

1st time at Busch Gardens and it is a MUST!!!!
Negative: the trolleys closed as soon as it was our turn to be driven into BG, it was around 10:35 a.m so not too much after opening park hours. We walked to the front only to wait 30-40 minutes to get through the line.
2. Alot of attractions were closed but there was still so much to do.
3. Wait times for rides is horrendous.
Positive:
In my opinion out weigh the negative.
1. The park is a 2 or more day park. We rushed through at the end to catch a glimpse of what we had missed.
2. Lots of shade, fans, misters, etc. The bathrooms have A/C !!!! I brought fans but honestly could have gone without.
3. The app HELPS a ton Navigate your way around the park! And help you keep track of shows.
4. The food passes are worth it. We had dinner and lunch. Very filling.
5. The summer festivities are beautiful & so much fun.
Overall we had such an amazing time. Loved ELMO & friends so cute and such a great area for the small kids. Bummed the splash pad was out of service but the splash areas from the coasters and misting areas made up for it.
Fun for the whole family. Some attractions were closed because of construction but overall it was a good day.
Absolutely the place for roller coasters. And the wildlife is intriguing and gorgeous.
I will be back!!
Had such a blast here! Recommend the circus show and the ice scapades show. Great place to spend a day with the family
Great day! They have very good accessibility services and ramps to rides. Better than most amusement parks we have been to. Had a great day!
One of my favorite theme parks of all time. Management is pretty iffy at times but the collection of rides and animal exhibits make this place hard to beat.
Very busy this time of year. Long wait lines. However, more enjoyable when it isn't 95° with a 108° heat index 😉 The Christmas Lights were really nice.
So, we've been to BG/Williamsburg years ago....This was by far a much nicer park. Not so much for the rides, which were in abundance, but the setup/layout was much more conducive to a better experience. Lots of places to sit and rest, plenty if shade throughout, and a good.mix of animals and attractions.
My only negative was that there werent any shows going on which would've made it a 5 star , but I'm guessing by summer that'll change. F & W festival was a nice bonus , just a lil pricey for those items, which were good BTW.
All in all a very good time and will be back in the future for sure.
Park was SO MUCH FUN! We had a good time, but just wish my friend could've ridden more of the rides. He couldn't because of his weight. Here's hoping for some more weight-friendly ride options in the future!
If you want to ride roller coasters in Florida, Busch Gardens is 2nd to none. However, there's so many things that could be better. I've visited numerous times when the roller coasters get shut down after a long wait in line. Weekdays can be brutal waiting in line in the Florida heat, especially when they're only loading one cart at a time when they have the ability to load two (Shei-Kra & Cheetah Hunt). Although the new paint on the roller coasters makes them look a lot better, the rest of the park could use some upgrading. Especially the bathrooms.
The good thing is, despite them still looking like their stuck in the 70's in many areas of the park, the roller coasters are awesome when they're up & running. Iron Gwazi is by far the best and it's debatable if Cheetah Hunt is better than Shei-Kra. Montu & Kumba may be old but can still rattle the brain with the best of 'em. If the coasters aren't enough of a death-defying thrill for you, check out Falcon's Fury for a life changing experience.
Anyways, if you want to enjoy thrill rides in Florida without the Orlando theme park price, this is the place to go. Otherwise, the Orlando theme parks are a great choice if you want to pay for the ultimate theme park experience.
We had an excellent time at Busch Gardens over the weekend. We had the most fantastic time on the safari. We love doing that every time we come to Busch Gardens.
Maddy was our tour guide, and she did an excellent job!!
However, they do need to do a little better on a couple of things.
1-if you paid for preferred parking, you should be guaranteed a spot. They should not oversell the lot.
Example: The parking lot attendant told us the “preferred parking lot was full” even though we had already paid for preferred parking $40.
2-keep the bathrooms clean. Hire an army of people to keep them clean if you have to.
They looked awful by 1 pm.
3-let’s talk about the “all-day dining pass” there should be a way to get “express meals,” we should not be in the same line like everybody else that has to to get out a form of payment because it just takes way too long and makes zero sense.
*Two hours and 13 minutes to get a plate of mediocre barbecue; this is not an efficient way of doing things.
Last time I was here was 9 years ago, and back then, definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Today 10/2021
I can only give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️, roller coasters still awesome but the park is starting to look dated and a bit forgotten, some areas are in need of a serous update, come on BG! You can do better than that… hope to come back again soon.
It was extremly fun!! Tickets are worth it!! Sadly paid the skip line tickets invain since isnt really full never did lines, all day dine inn is okish but isnt for every food place thats there only like 2 or 3 , best wear is hair in pony tail some shorts and tshirt (no makeup) is my advice cuz the water rides you do get soaked I enjoyed the rides ♡ pretzels I personally give 0 stars cost $8 for almost mediam size and it didnt taste fresh overall Busch Garden is Worth every penny if yoy like to see the animals and love scary rides !
This was my family’s favorite theme park in our trip to the Tampa area. Food - I appreciate the healthy salad option in the fast food line. Tons of amusement park fast food but I would appreciate at least one healthy meal option besides salad like grilled chicken, rice and veggies in a bowl or something. Zagora Cafe served a burnt burger. Honestly, it wasn’t that tasty but my niece and nephew were too hungry to care to much. Rides - tons of kids (age range 5-7) rides like 12 or so. Target Sesame Street and Pantophia if you are looking for kids rides in this huge park. Nice safari ride on the train and it last about 20 minutes touring all the animals. Shows - Elmo Christmas show was a bit disappointing due to them canceling it and reading a book instead. Christmas on ice - nice ice skating live show. Get their early for good seats. Lines - not bad at all on a Sunday in November. Also, short lines at night too. Animals- honestly better than animal kingdom in my opinion. Overall, this is a must experience!
Six Flags Over Tampa, basically. Meh experience, but has a few great coasters. Wouldn't waste precious vacation time going, but worth checking out if you're a coaster fanatic.
I'm biased because I love that place so much I can live there. Everything was magical with all the Christmas decorations. This time of year is really spectacular.
It would have been more magical but half the drink stations were closed and the cultural restaurants were serving burgers and fries. We had to miss Christmas Town bc it wasn't on display until 9pm! (Got there at 11am so 8 hours of walking took a toll). Covid really hit them hard and understand the hardship financially but to see 1 tiger pace around and wait 30 minutes for a roller-coaster then pay $20 for a burger, fries and drink, $30 for very disorganized parking and $80 for a 1 day pass...I put them last on the big 3 Florida attractions.
No lines on the day we went, animals were active and rides were excellent, good variety of coasters!
It was OK. There were alot of things closed. Some exhibits and some food places. Not sure if it was due to staffing problems. Be sure to buy your tickets online! Online they are $90 dollars, at the gate they are $121.
Wasn't our first time and won't be our last. A week day is always best If you can pull it off! A good time for sure and you'll definitely burn off the calories from lunch lol
It was completely awesome and exceeded our expectations!!!! The animals we were able to see up close especially on train ride was a highlight.
I'm an annual pass holder and have been going to Busch Gardens for about 30 yrs. I've seen so many changes in that time. One of the best changes are the events like the Food and Wine festival and Howl-O-Scream. I went today to enjoy their Bier fest. Tasted some amazing brew and yummy frozen treats along with some great food samples. I say samples but the portion sizes were pretty large. My only concern was the staff at most of the stops didn't seem like they wanted to be there and there was typically only one person trying to ring you up and serve the food. Over all I highly recommend this theme park if you are in the Tampa Bay area.
Great for going alone or with a friends, family, whatever the occasion. Lots of activities for all ages, including food and drinks for both adults and children.
There was alot to do here but for some reason nothing was working out for my party when we were there. It was one thing after another that went wrong. The best place to eat was the place with the giraffe bar and then the food on the other side. There was really no way to order your food and adult beverages without standing in two separate very long lines. We ended up splitting up with one grown-up going in each line. I went for the drinks and stood in line for about half an hour or maybe more. My cousin took the kids in line for the food and was in that line for at least 35 minutes. The food was good once we got it. It was usual Theme Park pricing. Adult drinks were between 10 and $15 each. There was a lot of variety available for drink choices. I especially like the edible straws. A much more fun solution than paper straws. The other issue we ran into that day was the long lines for the rides. We only ended up riding three rides the whole time we were there because the lines were so long. This is not a lot of ride bang for your buck when you consider how much it cost to get in the park for one day. The grounds were beautiful and the animals were fun to see. I feel like we could have had a better day if a few things have been different.
I love Busch Gardens and have since I was a kid. Thought I'd bring my boys to continue the tradition. Pretty disappointed that most of the stores inside the park were closed. No presentations. Only one character meet. Very limited food selections. We visited 4 days straight in hopes to see more on Friday or Saturday but still the same. It would be nice to post such closings on the website so that we can plan accordingly. The fireworks show was pretty awesome! The hippo exhibit is definitely one of our favorites. Also the penguins are where the huge crocodile use to be. Seeing the animals so closely was pretty exciting. Still a great place to visit.
We have Platinum annual passes, and it is ABSOLUTELY worth it every time. We traveled to other parks and used the passes, and the entire network of parks is worth it! Great Savings, the parks have something for all ages, and perks are worth it!
Super fun and Christmas town was nice, we got fast pass and it was a huge help. There were lots of people but we skipped the line and we rode lots of rides
We are a special needs program for youth with social concerns (Autism/ADHD/executive functioning etc.) We visited with our teen group while in Tampa and had a blast. Educational meets fun- with all of the conservation efforts with the animals and don’t miss the shows. The ice skating show is spectacular! The staff at disability services were so kind and patient with our special needs group and providing them with accommodations. The water park was also well laid out and fun/refreshing! Will be back to this beautiful park!
Solid theme park. Very impressive rollercoasters. Safari/Zoo attractions are decent too. Not an ideal place to bring small children or overweight people, both groups will struggle to ride most of what they have to offer.
Small park if you're used to Disney. You can probably do most of it in one day. Still manages to be immersive. You totally forget you're in a major city while in the park.
If you like roller coasters and animals, this is the place for you. There are two water rides that you will get wet on. Come with dry fit clothes and water shoes on.
Food deal is worth it.
Iron Gawzi, in my opinion os the best ride.
Gave it a 4 star because the bathrooms need to be remodeled.
If your into thrilling rollercoasters 🎢 you should visit. There are two water rides. There's one ride that your in a log, which you dont get wet much, and there's the Congo river one which you get drenched.
Should you be a passholder or if you plan on being their the entire day you should get a souvenir cup for about $14.99. You can get refills for about $2. You can also purchase a popcorn bucket for about $8 and refill it for about $4/$5.
Why on the weekend day and not one line. The staff is all friendly and they remind you to use your passes every time for a discount on food.
Great drinks and snacks at the giraffe bar
Rides are small and timings are not accurate on its app and near the rides. Cheetah hunt is by far the best rides of all. Some of the shows are good to watch.
Pleasantly Surprised!!! Very laid back. Super fun for kids. I didn't realize it's actually a zoo with crazy roller coasters. Lots for little kids to do and old people too. Highly recommend. Don't expect Disneyland because it's completely different. Looks like they could update the bathrooms and have more cleaning staff, but a good value and lots of fun.
All friendly people, great atmosphere. The long lines for the roller coasters was downer. 75 minutes most of the day. Seeing the animals is very interesting, take the train ride to see the whole park.
Sadly, about 1/2 the rides and things to do were closed. I was there on a Thursday in September. We ended up leaving early, because we don't like roller coasters and there wasn't much else to do.
Always the best time at Busch Gardens, I have an annual pass and I go with my friends! I love that you have both the choice of going on rides or seeing animals!
Wonderful experience at Christmas Town. The priority pass to meet Santa and Rudolph was 100% worth it!
Nice for families or even if you are solo. Great food . Nice atmosphere. Clean restrooms. Train rides. Safari . Food court available. Movie Theater. No outside food allowed. No coolers. No lawn chairs allowed.
We went for Christmas Town Fun fun fun plus fireworks at 9pm
I would recommend go when it opens so you can get everything in also bring your own food you can always find a table to eat at .
All in all the visit was okay. Employees were helpful and the park was clean. However, there was a lot of closed stuff. Lory Landing, Mayombe Reserve, Stanleyville Station, and several of the an snack and eating places were closed. Chet tag Hunt roller coaster and I think 1 other was closed as well. They only had 1 tiger and 1 orangutan; we found that disappointing. We're not sure if the animal stuff that was closed was due to Howl-o-Scream (and neither were the employees we spoke with) or not. On the plus side Serengeti train was running and had great animal views. They also have several species of sloth which were surprisingly active when we saw them.
Visiting Busch Gardens is always a blast! Busch Gardens has rides like no other theme park in Florida, such as the Iron Gwazi, Cheetah Hunt, and Kumba. There is also animals scattered around the park and a Sesame Street land, both of which are great for young children. Lines aren't too long, even on weekends. Food is also almost always nearby. Any theme park enthusiasts are sure to have a good time at Busch Gardens.
...amazing rollercoasters, many places with food and drinks, not many people...I like these places👍😀
Wow, I think I got roller coastered out. The Iron Gwansi was intense. If you can make it on a weekday in October, before the Howl-A-Sream the lines were short.
Had an absolute blast for my first time here. Rode a rollercoaster for the first time and it was exhilarating. The staff here are very accommodating and friendly. This is a must for all families kids of all ages and even adults.
Exciting place for everybody, a lot fun to enjoy, Food, Roller coasters, animals show, Safari, live Music, Fireworks, we loved
Great food and of course great thrilling roller coasters as well. And when you want to take a little break from the rides, they have beautiful animals with different themes. Great natural fun for the whole family!!
This place was awesome. The only problem the fast pass people can keep getting back in line over and over so it makes for long lines.. They should make them go to another ride and come back or have a time limit before getting back on ride.. Beautiful park plus get the refill cup worth the money..
We went to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay park three days in a row and enjoy every day.
Our family like the roller coaster most. There are so many different rides and for different kids' heights, which works perfect for us with kids at different ages. Cheetah is a must see animal and Cheetah Hunt is a must ride roller coaster. My 8 year old kid rode this over 10 times in a day. Iron Gwazi is so tall and fast, I bruised my belly after 1 ride. Cobra's Curse is also a lot of fun. Many many more.
I also like the animals in the park. You can ride on the train to see the whole park. The animals look to be enjoy Busch Gardens Tampa Bay park as home. I like to see those large size alligators, who enjoy the sun as well as the turtles as roommates.
One complain I had during my visits is that one day around 5 pm, we wanted to go to the parking lot using the shuttle tram. There were so many people waiting and there was obviously 1 tram working. This is quite un-acceptable. With this in mind, I still give Busch Gardens Tampa Bay a full 5 stars.
Definitely had a blast here💯 I would say bush has some fantastic roller coasters here. The kids had a very fun time. The smokehouse had some good BBQ also. We had quick que and you definitely need that here if you wanna get on multiple roller coasters. We attended from open to close and enjoyed the fireworks show as well. …
We had a blast and lines were low. It was clean and organized.
Prince enjoyed himself and Parents also until it began to rain! We may have to go back for the kiddo again
Although the rides were spectacular, the wait times were 40 to 120 minutes, the food, drinks, & parking were extremely overpriced. $30-$45 to park and $12 for a beer, nine dollars to $12 for a pretzel.
Was a good day! Although about 6 or 7 rides/attractions were closed which was a bummer especially since we visited on a Sunday. On a good note, all the staff members we encountered were helpful and kind. We got to pet kangaroos and that was my favorite part!
Awesome experience! Perfect for all ages. We went as a family ranging from age 3 to 55 and spent about 12 hours in the park. The rollercoasters are fantastic (some of the best I've ever ridden. The animals were awesome to see and it's so fun getting something to do in between the coasters. When we went to the rides the longest line was 7 minutes long. It was an absolute blast. I would recommend to family's and dates. The food was crazy expensive, but good quality. Will definitely be back when they open their new rollercoaster. 10/10 would recommend and I will definitely have a complete blast anytime I go.
Absolutely amazing place, so much fun!!! I can’t imagine doing the park without the fast pass though. We did the dining plan and it was so worth it! Can’t wait to come back!
And it been about four decades since I had been to Busch Gardens. I really enjoyed walking through the animal exhibits. I was disappointed that some of the rides were not open but was told that was due to a shortage of staff. When I asked some questions about time schedules and animal exhibits most of the staff did not know the answers. The crowd was small for Father's Day which made the lines shorts and quick. All of the guests seem to be having a good time. Everyone was friendly and nice. I plan to return in the fall and winter when Busch Gardens has their specialty events.
I didn't take photographs of the Ice show but it was very professionally done. Exquisite!
The park was great. That was our first time there and I wasn't sure what to expect. There is a lot of walking but that is expected at an amusement park. We purchased an all day dining pass. The food lines were long and after the food line you will have to stand in another line to pay if you eat at Dragon Fire Grill but it has the most food choices. Plan to only eat 2-3 times or spend your whole day in food lines.
If you come here, you definitely need Quick Queue. Otherwise, you could be waiting 2 or more hours for just one ride. If you love animals, this is the place for you. The kids cant get on too many rides but they have other things to keep them entertained such as arcades and playgrounds. Food is a bit pricey but if you do some snacking throughout the day, you'll be fine.
Great Park lots off Animals and loads off great rides well worth a visit
We had a blast (4 adults, 0 kids) and would absolutely return. Only downside IMO is lack of animals out for viewing. Half the point to this park is your zoo and we appreciate you taking care of the animals and allowing them to decide their schedule and whatnot, but then lower your prices since you can't guarantee we get to see them. We will still absolutely return. ❤️
Great time! Really wish all the Photo Pass kiosks would be working though! Real tough keeping track of all the times we rode the attractions for my photo key! Other than that good times
Had a very enjoyable day at Busch Gardens. Rode almost all the roller coasters and loved seeing all the animals. We got annual passes, so we will be back!
Great theme park. Excellent value with the best roller coasters in the world!
I like it. Nice place. Good attractions. The worse, the big lines
Love love love this place!!!
Bought the season pass. Can't wait to go back.
*** update 2/26 everything is back open for the most part- aside from some of the restaurants and refreshments open being slim. I'm very happy we decided to get passes again. The preschool pass was a HUGE help. My kids being free made it affordable for our family.
I've always loved Busch gardens, but during covid it's significantly less fun. A lot of rides are closed, almost all of the drink stations are closed and the worst part, the kids play areas are closed. It's not very kid friendly right now with nowhere for them to play. Pics with Santa require a mask even though your standing 6 feet away and outside. I understand the precautions, but it's definitely not fun with kids right now 😅.
