Reviews of Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience - Seattle
Holly Emmons
The most beautiful and amazing experience!!! I loved it! Get the VIP Tickets so you can experience the absolutely stunning, amazing and fun VR Experience at the end! The soundtrack is awesome and so relaxing, I bought it for home. The immersion room is truly beautiful and so cool, a work of art on its own! I could have sat in there for hours. There’s so much more, don’t delay…..GO!!!
Mark Melsness
Wow, just wow!!
I was told by a few people how incredible the show was, and what we experienced was mind-blowing. Get your tickets now before it's over and get the VIP. Make sure you give yourself an hour at minimum to take in all the readings and the ability to look at each piece of art. Download the Van Goug app and follow the guide on the audio tour with your headphones. Then, make sure you do the virtual experience at the end. It really is incredible! Definitely more than 5 stars!
Nikki Jomha
Such a unique experience & easy to absorb. Great for all ages as it’s a visual delight. Great story boards and an amazing 365 degree experience. We read every board and took our time and I would say we took 90 minutes. The developers came up with something for everyone that was much appreciated. If you knew nothing of Van Gogh except for the fact he painted sunflowers and cut his ear off - there is so much more.
Linda Bagley
I thoroughly enjoyed the show and history of Van Gogh. I had no idea what happened to his ear until this show nor did I know that he had such a sad life. Kind of explains some of his art. The shows enjoyable I highly recommend going but make sure you read each of the historical plaques on the walls, you will learn so much more about his life. The music and the art and the large auditorium where you sit down and watch the show nearly put me to sleep it was so relaxing and beautiful. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Marie Glynn
The standard exhibit portion of the experience was of the highest quality, as informative and accurate as a temporary installation at an excellent art museum. The 3-D experience of his bust and the vase was a nice warm-up to the Immersive Experience with the presentation on all four walls AND the floors. The art station for children is a fabulous touch; I watched children awestruck to see their work projected on a wall. Finally, the Virtual Reality experience: just fantastic. I didn't know what to expect, and I loved being able to 'tour' the countryside and harbor Van Gogh painted.
Deborah Smith
The exhibition was informative, extremely appealing to the visual and audio senses! I thoroughly appreciated learning about Van Gogh in one setting. The self guided tour was excellent because it allowed for me to take everything in at my pace! I did not have a favorite part because the entire event was orchestrated so well. Although the Seattle facility was freezing cold and the one poster (VIP perk) that I truly wanted was unavailable, my overall experience was fabulous! I highly recommend this event.
Haleigh Landry
This was an absolutely amazing experience. I loved every second of it and if you’re on the fence of doing the VR add on, just do it. Seriously, it’s super cool and worth the very little fee for the upgrade. This exhibit takes as many senses as it can into account and it is breathtaking. The gallery is incredible and dynamic. The immersive portion is so beautiful, it’s hard to make yourself leave. Then the VR experience comes next and I can’t say it enough, it’s awesome. This was one of the most unique ways to experience art and I am here for it. Also it felt very clean and I appreciated the staff providing eye masks and sanitizing after each person leaves their VR station!

This is something unique - different than what I've done before. There's lots of art to look at (reproductions of course) but there's also audio, video stuff, 3D representations, and lots of printed info for those of us who want to learn more about the man and his art.
The VR tour feature is part of the VIP package, but also can be purchased on site for an extra $5. It was worth it. The VIP package also includes the choice of several exclusive posters at the gift shop at the end, plus a chance to skip the line while entering. There wasn't one when we came. It was busy but not crowded. That's why they make you make reservations.
We loved it. I highly recommend it.
Linda Aldrich
I thoroughly enjoyed this venue except for the super huge room for the great visual experience. It's like a sauna, no air flowing at all.
I took so many pictures, the one of vanGogh morphing and the huge vase
of his flowers morphing. You'd have to see them to appreciate them in the morphing process.
Mersadies Pringle
Absolutely breath taking. I'm not the average art enthusiast, but I loved this experience. The VR is 100% worth the $5 a person. Really neat!!
Stay in the "Van Gogh Experience Room" (the one with tons of projectors and constant moving screens) for the whole show. It was stunning!
Was it worth $175 for 5 people (3 adults, 2 kids plus tax)? Not necessarily, which is why I removed a star. But it was pretty Amazing & a sight to see!
Bathrooms were clean and semi easy to access. Audio/video was nearly glitch free which made for a wild experience!
Maiko W
It was a very unique experience to enjoy Vincent Van Gogh arts. We booked the tickets in advance so no waiting line to enter. The immersive room was very entertain and relaxing. You can grab any empty chairs to sit or just sit on the ground to enjoy 360 degree of vivid colorful Gogh's art works. They're very visual art effects.
Note: It was a very bad and non-functional parking system across the street from the exhibit. I'd recommend using the exhibit parking or somewhere else.
Charles Bussey
Great experience for a date night. If you're not from the Seattle area, you may find the parking situation a little questionable. Use the big scan QR code on the sign, not the one on the directions of how to scan the QR code. Also, be prepared to run out in the middle of your event to add more time to your parking. The maximum parking time is 2 hours and if you take your time through the van Gogh exhibit it's going to take longer than 2 hours. In addition, do not pay for the VIP pass if you go. The regular ticket price gets you the same experience for half the price. Part of the VIP price gets you is allows you to jump the line. However, there is no line. Also you do get a free poster but it's got Van Gogh Seattle printed on it so it's not like you're going to frame it and put it up in your house. Nobody over the age of 12 puts up posters anymore. And the VR experience is excellent but not worth the extra money for the VIP ticket, not when you can just pay $5 at the event and get the same experience. Overall, the experience was excellent and worth the regular price of admission. Again, don't pay the VIP price. Though it is worth the money, you get the exact same experience with the regular admission price.
Kaye McVay
Go!!!! Soooo Worth it! Could have stayed in the large, moving art room all day! What an amazing experience.
Gift shop pricing a bit high and limited options, but the museum itself is beyond description.
SATHYA NALLAPAREDDY
Best and superb experience. The VR show was awesome. All the paintings were extra ordinary. Real life time experience. One who visits Seattle must and should see the paintings of Van Gogh. Very very memorable.
Sirisha M
Pretty good experience. Extra bucks for the VR experience which is the best part of the exhibit of course. They also give out a free poster with the VIP experience..
Street side and on site parking is available.
Whole experience won't take more than 1.5 hours since it's self guided you can spend more time if you'd like
PK Kashyap
One of the best experiences ever!!! I'm so glad we finally decided to visit the Van Gogh exhibit after pushing it out this long. You need to visit this place whether or not you like art. There is something for everyone! It's amazing how well the whole exhibit is put together and the effort is applaudable.
It's not just a random gallery with paintings thrown together. You will get absorbed into Van Gogh's life and work as you progress through the exhibit. Do not rush through it. Take time to read and observe. The paintings are spellbinding anyway. But the story behind them is the winner. The immersive experience at the end is one of a kind and will leave you wanting more. Do not miss out on the VR experience before you exit. You don't need a vip ticket for it. It's available for $5/per person when you get there!
Super happy that this is here in Seattle! Great experience around one of the best painters ever!
Molly Hodgkinson
An incredibly captivating visual experience! The first time I went I lost track of the outside world and was already brainstorming who I could take with to go again! It is truly an activity for ALL ages. My 2 year old absolutely loved it and talked about “the Van Gogh Show” for days afterwards. Learning about Vincent Van Gogh’s world was the highlight of our year. You don’t want to miss it!!
Sergey Akimov
Very entertaining and well thought out exhibit. The VR 12 min video might make some people naugheous especially considering that it's a bit hot and stuffy inside the building on very hot day which is when I visited.. 92 °f outside
Be prepared to recreate Starry Night with crayons 🖍 ✨️ …
Kristen Isaak
It was so worth the money! We learned so much about Van Gogh. My husband knows how much I love Vincent Van Gogh, so getting to come to see this was a beautiful experience! The VR experience is only $5 extra, and it is 12 minutes of absolute wonder and beauty! Really! Go see it! Its location kind of sucks, but it really is worth it!
emily p
This was truly incredible. My husband brought me for my birthday and WOW, it did not disappoint. Photos cannot do it justice. Do yourself a favor, buy a ticket and get yourself down there before this exhibition leaves Seattle.
Susan Fedor
The exhibit itself was amazing and even more amazing was the virtual reality experience at the end. VERY much worth the $5 extra. What was NOT amazing was the exibit being so hot inside that we left the immersion early. It was such a bummer! It was almost unbearable. It was also not crowded whatsoever and so the heat was not due to body count. It really almost ruined the whole experience. It was hot outside that day as well, but MUCH hotter inside!
Ingrid Zea
Van Gogh is my very favorite painter. I felt they just had some projections of his work, but no originals at all, and the projections weren't even that good. I did like how you could "walk" into his painting of his room. The immersive part was kind of cool, but not like all the hype made about it, just projections all over the walls. And the worst part, there was no air conditioning, no fans, hardly any ventilation, so it was quite stifling. I did not do the virtual experience, so I have no opinion about it.
craig brooks
I learned a lot about van Gogh. For someone who has a little interest going to this thing I sure came out with a lot. Pretty impressive as well. Not a very long walk through. But you feel like you’ve gone through so much and you’re done.
DK
This was a fun exhibition to explore some of the famous artworks by Gogh and get to learn more about the artist. Keep in mind that there are no physical artworks here, and these are either digital projections or an interactive display.
One aspect that seemed like a critical flaw was in the main stage. In one of the floor to ceiling wall projects, the focus was visibly off. That led to the media projection coming up blurred and distorted. Given that this was the highlight of the exhibition, we were quite disappointed.
Overall though, we would recommend a visit.
Christopher
Just the right length, especially if go with someone who likes to read everything and maybe you’re more visual. It was informative, visually stunning, and modern. Definitely has appeal for those who may not want a more transitional museum experience. Get the VR, as it adds context to the inspiration.
Sue Goepp
The music highlighted the visuals terrifically. It was a very reflective experience, and it made me want to get out a paintbrush and canvas and take a stab at painting some flowers. A beautiful time!!!!
Daniel Perkins
I really enjoyed this and it was very educational. I recommend this to anybody not just those with the taste for art. I think the downside and the reason I gave them a four-star rating is the gift shop was way overpriced some serious price gouging for sure. On top of that they had a very limited availability on t-shirt sizes.
A Skywalker
Stunning doesn’t begin to describe this! Although there aren’t any of his original works on display the visuals were amazing. The music and graphics make it seem as if you’re in another world surrounded by his art.
Parking: On-site; $10
What happens when you put too many paintings in your car?
You can’t make your Van Gogh 🎨
Tracie Pintuff
The Van Gogh Experience with VR was amazing. Lots of information I didn’t know. Definitely do the VIP tickets for the VR ( make sure you turn around in your chair ). Highly recommended.
caryna young
It was al fantastic and calming experience. My autistic son absolutely loved the immersion room. Soft music, low lights, comfy seating arrangements. I would love to go again!
Deborah Klapperich
I have been twice and this art experience is truly beautiful, amazing and affordable. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. The exhibit itself is wonderful. I liked the still artwork in the first section and the narratives about the life of Van Gogh. The large room immersion experience is beautifully and magically created. Finally, the VR experience is incredible. A Van Gogh wonderland! This is an affordable experience, the location is great with easy parking. I recommend it!
Peggy Judd
Gorgeous and worth every penny. Unique experience—Learning all those facts about his life was wonderful. Four different rooms/exhibits. Very interactive. My 8-yr-old had a great time
Jacob Monahan
Awesome! Absolutely amazing setup. They break the walk through down perfectly. I would suggest taking as much time as you can in the big room, they play a looped scene all around the room for about an hour. Definitely worth relaxing for a bit in there.
Terra T.
No air conditioning so it was very warm inside. We were able to purchase tickets there and avoided the fees from buying online. The vr experience at the end is so worth the 5 bucks.
Candice Ray
This was a neat experience. Van Gogh is one of my favorite artist and was nice to learn a bit more about him. Overall the experience lacks due to it really being 10 paintings a room of immersive video and that it. But still fun!
Jacqueline Gilbert
We had a great time! Kids really enjoyed the V.R. experience. Was a bit spendy and would have liked to see more ways for them to make it affordable so that everyone could access it.
Kerry Hernandez
Very cool and Informative. Great experience. Highly recommend except for the days there is a sporting event happening in Seattle. The person who owns the parking lot there were trying to charge me $90 even though I wasn't there for a sporting event. My suggestion is to avoid going on those days and or talk with staff about possibly coming on a different day. They are really and nice people and they seem eager to make your experience a pleasurable one.
Christina Davis
It was great, I loved it. The life story was informative and the paintings were beautiful. The 3D experience that surrounded the whole room with the projections, sound effects, music and story telling was outstanding and left me in awe. I just wanted to stay their and keep watching and listening.
Chelsea Brown
Meh, overpriced for the experience. I enjoyed reading about Van Gough and exploring his art. There is a theater type room with screens on every wall, and this is where you'll probably spend the most time; sitting and watching. I wouldn't reccommend going on a hot day, or prepare to sweat...a lot. The whole building was extremely hot and uncomfortable, which took away from the experience of enjoying the visuals fully. I found it silly that at the end of the excursion, it cost an additional $5 to enjoy the VR experience. (Tickets were all ready close to $40, we declined.) There was also an area to do coloring activities with crayons and color book looking sheets. Might be cool for kids, but not really my thing. Also, Van Gough is quite the cash cow; there is a huge gift shop with over priced merchandise. For example a small pin button was $6 (what a markup!) posters, sweaters, flasks, backpacks, place matts, etc. Quite honestly, I'll stick with the Seattle Art museum. Might consider going back to another exhibit at this location for half the price, but definitely had expected the exhibit to be more interactve and less theater style.
Clark K
This place was great. Our tickets said 4:30 but we showed up early and got right in. It is self guided. Definitely do the VR at the end. It is only $5 and so worth it.
G. Kashfia
Highly recommend visiting this exhibit and giving yourself 2 hours to do so. I'm writing this after my 2nd visit and bringing my husband, our friends and their two kids (3yo and 7 month old). We spent most of the time just chilling in the fully immersive room. To our surprise, the kids were very calm and well behaved while we were chilling in the room for an hour and a half! They absolutely loved the effects and we all had a great time there!
Mary Jo Stump
Was very informative and historical about his life. He was color blind thru out his life. Do the 5 dollar experience at the end. The only negative, there was no air conditioning. Wear light clothing. ✨️ Overall fun
Jennifer Buchanan
Loved it! It was an amazing experience and recommend people go. There is a lot of reading so I wouldn't recommend for really young kids but worth it overall.
Hope Smith
Loved it! The exhibit was wonderful and I got to see some works or rather large scale recreations of them, I had never known existed. It was cool to see the recreations of all of the Van Gogh sunflower paintings lined up next to each other and the giant vase with the changing paintings projected onto it was super cool. The lighting and music are fantastic and I love the way each exhibit draws you in. It was mesmerizing and I could have spent a lot more time just watching them. They did ask for an additional $5 to be able to put on their 3-D headsets for 15 minutes and that was kind of bunk as I assumed everything was included in the price of admission. I would still recommend it for everything else though.
Reese Piece
Nice and interesting exhibit, best part was the four projector screens that played an hour or so of a video ft. Gogh's many paintings (very comfy).
Aims k
This is a wonderful exhibit which is also very kid friendly and so enjoyable. The big room with projected art and the $5 for the google oculus interactive experience at the end were highlights. Highly recommend!
Karthik Srinivasan
Spending 1-2 hours being immersed in indescribably breathtaking scenery and colors of Van Gogh's paintings is a very nice way to while away time.
Gmoon Jang
Loved the exhibit. It was like you are in Van Gogh's artwork. Although I know nothing about art, my kids and I enjoyed all the artwork.
No A/C in the building so try not to go on a hot day.
catalina draghici
Loved it! It’s like getting into a whole new world, Van Gogh’s world of paintings and adventures. Is a must see! I’ve learned so much about the painter’s life, work, art techniques, health.
Brenda DeForest
We all really enjoyed the Van Gogh , Immersive Experience. Great space, clean, good lighting, easy parking, learned so much about an amazing artist in a short amount of time.
Mary Burdette
As a huge fan of Vincent van Gogh for decades, I was super excited when I read about this experience. It lived up to and surpassed my expectations. Each part -- historical and biographical background, the gorgeous immersion show, the virtual reality at the end, and beautiful music -- all fit together perfectly. I didn't want it to end. Thank you so much for bringing this to Seattle! If you love art, go!
MtGirl09
Absolutely breath taking! Amazing atmosphere and gorgeous artwork. The moving artwork was a neat touch too. I highly recommend any art lover to visit. Worth every penny
Crystal Donovan
Wheelchair accessible.
Absolutely worth going! A great romantic date, then come back with the kids. Fantastic overall experience. We wanted to do it again as soon as we finished.
I do recommend the vr at the end, especially if you've never tried it.
Becky Breshears
We loved the experience. Masks were optional but it wasn't crowded when we were there at all. What a great production of Van Gogh and his work.
jodee bihl
For being couped up from snow and rain it was refreshing to see this immersion show of Van Gogh. I really needed to see his beautiful colors and visual art pieces. I really enjoyed it.
Justin Watts
Our family had a great time, wonderful experience and definitely worth the $5 to do the VR!
ilan n. knochen
It's beautiful. Only things I believe organizers should reconsider: Paintings are with very little light and bright spots which waters the colors. VIP experience was a waste, as the VR is only $ 5 and VIP added $ 20 only for that. I was thinking VIP included something, don't pay for it. Parking is separate and it's $ 12. VR was crowded, but overall, it was all very nice.
Sonny Ramaswamy
All I can say is Wow. The exhibit, descriptions, and virtual reality rendering of Van Gogh’s paintings, many of which we have seen at various museums in the world, provided a wonderful insight into the paintings and the artist. This is Must See
Nikki Lind
The experience was amazing but the power went out so we didn't get to finish it. They did offer passes to come back tho.
Edit, went back to complete The experience. VR was amazing! Clear thing I've probably ever done!
Mayu
Great time! Onsite parking, kid friendly. Light, video, audio…all senses put together for an unique experience. The paintings are shown in an interesting way. Loved the VR experience and the drawing workshop
Marissa T
Exhibit was better than we had expected. Didn't know much about his life and left with more appreciation about him and his undeniable talent.
I also appreciated the staggered attendance as it allowed to practice safe distancing while enjoying the exhibit, especially the immersive experience.
Great location to hold the exhibit!
Tricia Collins
Good gracious, this was great! I wasn't sure what to expect, but the whole thing was very good - easy to submerge yourself into and really appreciate Van Gogh's brilliance, and remember to read the information in the galleries.
Loved it - but after having to go back inside (for 5 minutes) to deal with a purchase error - came out to a parking ticket (we parked on site) - not happy about that at all!
C'est la vie!
Mary Yamazaki
Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists. I have been to The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam twice. The Van Gogh Experience was comprehensive and very well-done. I highly recommend this experience to art lovers the world over.
caryn j
Definitely worth it! The while family thoroughly enjoyed Van Gogh. We all learned something and found it an excellent experience. We all wished we could have stayed longer. The VR was amazing and a must do!
Mike Watterson
We had a wonderful time at the Seattle Van Gogh Immersive Experience. We had visited the Vincent Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam in April. To introduce our granddaughter the arts (especially Van Gogh) was priceless…
Thank you for bring this experience to Seattle.
Marilyn Mers-Hardison
This was incredibly well done! Better than expected. 6 family members came to this with us for my husband's birthday and we were all thrilled with the experience. Don't miss the $5 add on VR headset part!
Carolyn Tomlinson
Excellent! Especially enjoyed the virtual reality portion, which comes with the VIP ticket or costs $5 more with the standard ticket.
Paying for parking was a real issue. No cash. All done by phone and it was difficult.
Mishti Dhawan
I think this exhibit is a little overhyped for its price but it’s definitely fun to go with friends and see the cool art they have around. I really enjoyed the room with the projections of Van Gogh’s work! They used really fun lighting to go with it so it was a fun exhibit overall.
May Q
Fun experience for the general audience but can come off as a bit gimmicky for more serious art enthusiasts. Just a warning, we do think that the price for this exhibit is a bit steep for what was offered, but we also don’t go to museums that frequently as well.
Overall, a causal and educational atmosphere that would be good for a more calm evening out.
Monica Musaraca
Amazing! Must do this! You will learn so much about this amazing artist and the reasoning behind each art piece. So appreciated
amit S
Expect parking to be full on the weekends and entrance is not that obvious on a rainy day.
It was decent experience to know more about the artist himself and his life journey. Immersive experience room can be overwhelming with intensity of light, high volume and weekend crowd.
Better to visit on weekdays.
Kelly Sorenson-Herberth
We were there today, a bit crowded, but good Christmas spirit. The first half was walking and standing, reading the posters next to the paintings, it takes time, people had patience. No one made you feel rushed. Only one jerk that didn't have his mask above his nose. The second half is in a large warehouse room, carpet and low chairs, and you are then swept away into the world of Van Gogh. I'm not sure how long but it was long. All of his series brought to life on 4 walls. I don't have the words but I do have some photos. Look on YouTube for videos since you can't post them here. Also if telling someone about the show make sure they go to Van Gogh Immersion, there are other shows out there.
I think some fake nasty reviews out there too. One said it only took 15 min to see everything, how? Did they run, not read any of the information next to paintings. They obviously didn't stay to watch the immersive part which was incredible. Another review that said there was no music or background sound, there was and it also pretty incredible.
The bathrooms were clean, lots of paid and free street parking. It was easy to find, how can you miss a giant outside wall with the words Van Gogh written on it? And a ramp that leads you to the door.
They could have had more disabled parking, I didn't see any but we had no problem finding a free spot a half block away.
Suzie Ness
This was really beautifully put together. I've been lucky enough to visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and some of the Paris museums exhibiting his paintings as well as Arles and St Remy where Van Gogh lived and worked. This exhibit helped me better understand the man, his life, and his work.
Sammy Howell
This entire set up was ahhmazing! I brought my In-Laws here as well and they loved it so much. Definitely recommend, 100% worth the trip.
Victoria Chen
The experience was so inspiring! My family and I were amazed at the creative display of Van Gogh’s art; there were so many different ways they showcased all the paintings. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the painting descriptions were very detailed (I feel I learned so much!), and the final room at the end was so fun and special… one must sit through the whole thing!! Thanks for a wonderful night! 🎨👨🎨🖼🌻🌌
April MacFarlan
There is a lot of hype around this exhibit so it's easy to get your hopes up. Try to stay reasonable in your expectations and you'll be pleasantly surprised. I loved reading all the informative signs and don't skip the VR at the end. The gift shop was what disappointed me the most.
Charissa Soriano
Had a splendid night with my friend here! We went in with no expectations and were blown away by the beautiful projections of Van Gogh’s work. We also got to enjoy their coloring activity for children and adults, which came after the exhibit.
whitney sol
Pretty cool! Interesting idea, the projector room was really fun. If you’ve seen van goghs and projection mapping, it may not be too revolutionary for you. I went in already knowing a lot about Van Gogh but still found a lot to appreciate visually. Kind of annoying they played traditional Chinese music during the part of the video that showcased traditional Japanese art. The interactive bedroom is cool, and there are some neat projection onto objects.
Xochitl Castaneda
I really loved this experience. It was very calming. It takes over an hour to go through the exhibit. Don't rush through, go slow to take it all in. After the immersive exhibit they give you a chance to draw. This is fun for kids of all ages. They have $5 parking in front of the exhibit but if there is a game going on you will have trouble parking. If you can't get tickets they may let you purchase tickets as a walk up. I was able to get in my second time that way.
Chuck Zappala
The immersion room with seating was most excellent. The moving visuals in sync with the rich music was awesome. I was told this is a one hour event. No way. We enjoyed a full 2 hours plus and wished we could have stayed longer, but we had another appointment. The narrative histories provided insightful details I had not known before. Looking forward to more events.
Eliana Arias-Dotson
Inspiring, moving, educational! We loved it! My daughter and friend were mesmerized by the history and life I each piece
The music, the effects, all wonderful! Well done
Brad LM
This was amazing. I really think Van Gogh would have appreciated it. Awesome facts about him and his life
CJSuss
Great art and presentation, good date idea, cute drawing interactive section, vr experience was alright, projection room IS AMAZING
Kimberly Odekirk
From the minute you step through the door you are immersed in Van Gogh’s life, in the most unique and cutting edge miracle of Art you can imagine! Not only is it a study in culture and history, but you are literally with n the art. It’s either being projected on you or your soaring through the his paintings with 3-D virtual video goggles!! Put it on your bucket list!
Angela Coe
So much fun, I loved it! The experience was interactive and relaxing. I really enjoyed the VR at the end as well. Highly recommend
Garrett Haynes
I definitely recommend checking this exhibit out. Better than I expected. The huge immersive projection room is really cool. Never watched anything like that before. There are great visual exhibits of his works along with a good overview of his life and some poignant quotes from him. The VR headset experience was also really cool, worth the $5 if you didn't already buy the VIP pass.
Sarang Rakhecha
Exhibits are great. Well managed museum.
Have good summaries of most of the paintings and Van Gogh's life events. The immersive experience is at the end of the museum and is worth watching. The story goes for about 20-25mins. They have carpets and chairs for people to sit on and the vibe is just amazing. Parking is available for $10. Must experience.
Teresa Gillespie
I loved this! I took 2 hours to enjoy every experience and to read the life story of Van Gogh. Great presentation. It was a treat for the the eyes and the brain. My only complaint is that it was too warm, and it wasn't even a terribly hot day. (84F) I skipped the virtual experience because I was too hot, though I would have liked to have done it.
Trenton Van Dusseldorp
Very cool experience! Highly recommend.
I’ve seen both Van Gogh large scale projection exhibits and I would say this was my favorite of the two. The site says 60-75 minutes however I spend over 90 minutes just taking my time looking at everything.
Checking in was a breeze with a dedicated line for regular ticket holders and vip. While there were some spots where social distancing was not possible, everyone did great wearing masks. There are some videos and other items before getting to the main event.
There is only one large room with some chairs, benches, and rugs to sit on. It’s not as large as the images in the website show.
Before you leave you are able to color your own Van Gogh with crayons for free or take a trip with VR. The VR is $5 and takes you through a trip of the city where you can see the inspiration of some of his paintings (all animated). It was fun and part of the VIP package but not a must see. At the end is a little souvenir shop.
Side note: bought my tickets on fever and they originally canceled them due to a delay with the exhibit. This left us scrambling to find tickets months later due to sold out shows. While this was not idea the customer service was good.
Kimberly Steiner
This exhibit far surpassed my expectations. The beautiful music which accompanied the visuals really added to the show. I was relieved to see everyone masked up and having to show their proof of vaccination. Parking was very convenient- literally right across the street and a 30 second walk. My kids and I learned so much about Van Gogh. I'm so grateful we were able to attend.
Natalie Mendiola
I learned so much that I didn’t know about Van Gogh. There were a plethora of paintings of his that I had never seen before this exhibit. The way they gave life to them & incorporated the immersive portion was fantastic. Thank you so much to those involved.
B.B.J Show
It is not real museum of Van Gogh. But you can definitely see his life, and art work. There is a big and wide room on middle of place, I guess over 20 projectors are shown to all around room about his art, it is really impressive. You will have totally a new experience for your life, too.
Marci Williams
I took my art-loving 90+ year old mother-in-law and we both loved it! (She is a world traveler who has seen some of the original paintings. She said she had never seen a more beautiful art installation.) Stunning and thoughtful presentation of information and images. I was surprised and impressed by the emotional impact it had on me.
Tod Cheney
This is a new and dynamic way to view art. So much more engaging than traditional museum shows where paintings hang static on a wall and everyone whispers. In this show music from the time of Van Gogh accompanies his work. One learns about the artist's life, and some of what his feelings were when he created his paintings. The whole experience is inspirational. We all loved it, from my 2 month old grandson to me, 73. I've put my name on the wait list for Monet.
Carolyn Ableman
I enjoyed the exhibit immensely - I was a bit skeptical since I’d heard nothing from the company since I bought my tickets - but it turned out well and I really appreciated the technology used to create the multi layered experience of Van Gogh. The music, the visuals and the quotes all fit together very well.
Daria Schubert
Wonderful exhibit! You can take it at your own pace and read through all the learning experiences as you meander toward the projection room. In the projection room, sit and feast your eyes and soul on Van Gogh's paintings come to life.
Ginger Bernethy
Loved the different phases to experience. Seeing the works, reading both well known and obscure facts accompanying the art. Interactive photo opportunities. Seeing how the colors change and the difference on how we see color versus someone with color blindness. The VR tour really transported you to another time and gave a chance at a real understanding of what was seen that inspired the art. Great way to get all senses involved to experience Van Gogh's work.
M Sigurd Hall
Van Gogh is my favorite artist. This exhibit does a good job of giving the basics of his life without going too deep.
It is beautiful and heartbreaking just like his life. I'm definitely wanting to go again if only to sit in the large room and listen to the music and watch all of his paintings. There is so much to see there. Two or three loops might be the way to see it all.
If you're a fan of impressionist art or him in general, this is the place to go
Elizabeth Andrew
It was so much better than I'd expected. Not the typical museum experience, not to knock museums at all, but this really did feel more initiate with the artist rather than the art. A view into the creative rather than the creation. Worth the time and ticket. Probably won't be much fun for anyone under 8.
Doug
What a great experience. Lots going on, good history, great art. Do the VR option.
Ethan John
I thought I’d enjoy this more than I did. The visual production value throughout was not as good as it could be, but I enjoyed reading the history and looking at the art displays.
The art could be displayed in a way that preserves contrast, the projector room has good sound but some cheesy visual effects, the VR is pretty basic if you’ve used it before. Make sure the headset eye width is adjusted properly
Marianne Gordon
We had an amazing time. So much I never knew about Van Gogh!
Pam Maule
The exhibit was fantastic! The creativity of the artists who put the display and immersion experience together is amazing (understated). To learn about Van Gogh in this manner is a very rewarding experience!
Just a few tweaks-there is a discrepancy with the information-one display says he shot himself in the abdomen and one says he shot himself in the chest.
-During the immersion experience, there is a segment where his quotes are flashed by too quickly for anyone to fully read. I hope that they will slow this down for others interested in reading his quotes.
Gail Givan
The Van Gogh exhibit was so amazing! It is ending September 1. If it ever returns, I would go again. The virtual reality portion was so realistic, beautiful and fun! All of the exhibits were worth seeing though and quite stunning. I would love to see exhibits like this for other artists!
Yvonne Jensen
Absolutely enjoyed the immersive experience - and so did my 11yr old granddaughter!
Chance Blowers
Definitely worth the admission price. We got the VIP not knowing what to expect. We went at 10 am on a Wednesday and there wasn't much of a line to skip. The VR tour comes with the VIP but is only $5 at the site. You get a free poster that they sell for $14 but it's just a poster... Unless you are going on a busy weekend you really do not need to spend the extra money.
Elmo Scheffer
If you are a Van Gogh fan and you halpen to be in Seattle, don't miss this.
oswyn oswald (Angelique)
This was worth every penny! Go while you can. You won't regret it. And don't miss out on the VR experience at the end-it's unbelievable!! I'll likely go again before it leaves town. It's too gorgeous to pass up!
Brandon Glaze
I took my Wife and sister in law to the Immersive experience. It was a great experience. Being inside his paintings was great. We also found quite a few works that we had never seen, and an entire genre (Japanism) that we were unaware of.
Mindy Exum
Wonderful experience, easy free parking at a warehouse near the International District. Took about 1.5 hours total including gift shop time. The exhibit was informative and the interactive aspects place you convincingly into Van Gogh’s slightly psychotic but fascinating world. Effectively transported us to late 1880’s France— a technical tour de force! Great way to spend a rainy Seattle afternoon!
Chris Mullen
It was actually BREATHTAKING 🥰
VIP Tickets, definitely worth the expense. The EXPERIENCE is beyond words. I would definitely go again. …
John Schultz
This was by far, the best part "museum" I have ever been to. You get to see 30 different pieces of his ( Van Gogh's )work. Some of them are 3-D, while others just draw you inside........ Then, of course, there's the "immersion room" and also for an extra 5 dollars, you get to experience a virtual reality session which lasts 13 minutes. This was by far, the best thing I did in Seattle except for seeing my son get married. Of course, nothing will ever top that! ❤️
Alicia Moreno
Had a great experience last night learning about Van Gogh and his magnificent collection.
The visual and audio immerse section is very entertaining. I had no idea about the Japanese interest of Vincent and the related collection.
The VR part at the end should be part of the ticket vs requiring extra charge. Also, the 10$ for parking at SoDo for 1.5h that we spent at the exhibit, is quite abusive. Hence my 4 stars
Sandra McGill
This experience is amazing for all ages. Our group's youngest was 7 and the oldest 76. The displays, music, information, and sense of wonder were calming, moving, and utterly beautiful. I may return to do it on my own, and linger . . .
Melanie Kreiger
The Van Gogh Immersive Experience was moving and meaningful. I gained even more appreciation for this brilliant tortured soul and his huge body of work. We added on the VR experience following the exhibit and it was well worth the extra charge. Highly recommend it all!
Karyn Christner
I was so excited to see this show coming to Seattle and booked our tickets months in advance. The first date I chose was postponed. I chose another date and drove 300 miles to see the exhibit and day of the show I received an email that this show was canceled due to electric problems. Greatly disappointed as we were all but out the door but was able to rebook for two weeks later. I screwed up and didn't use the voucher properly so I reached out to Fever and they made it all right. Let me say at this point that Fever was accessible and communicative. I never felt abandoned. I appreciated the free upgrade to the VR experience for my inconvenience. I didn't like having to drive 300 miles again (one way) but it was an amazing show and despite the inconveniences and the HORRIBLE drive home over the pass, it was an experience I'm happy to have.
Sly Zelnys
The Immersive Experience was GREAT! The Exhibit was organized and presented in very interesting and fun ways; the Immersive part was mesmerizing and VR was amazing. Recommended for all ages and I'd go again in a heartbeat. Parking was challenging and expensive.
Anna Wilkins
Van Gogh never could have imagined his paintings coming to life. It's definitely a reinvention of his work. It's haunting and beautiful. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and definitely think this is worth seeing.
Sandy S
Overall experience was great. The virtual aspect of the exhibit is pretty cool. It's a refreshing experience compared to a traditional museum. My toddlers were "wow" by the virtual effects of the artwork. It helps my kids appreciate art but not bored them entirely. They can't really break anything :) I get to enjoy it a little more. They may not be real but definitely does gave a glimpse of Van Gogh's work. I do think the exhibit is a bit short for the price paid for. Once in awhile, I guess it's not too bad.
Candy
Great show. Loved the story.
Students of all ages to come to this show! Very inspirational !
Meghan Oesterle
Great information about Van Gogh, but for the price of the tickets and the rave reviews, I was expecting more. The reprints of Van Goghs works were low quality canvas prints (any art school could have provided painted replicas for a nominal donation). The documentary at the beginning was really interesting but they flashed the "what he may have seen" coloring far too short. The 3D recreations were really cool but too few. And the coloring at the end was 5 colored crayons, not even paint or charcoal like what he would have used. They then had an add on virtual experience at the end that after already over paying they wanted more. Overall, if you can get a deal on a ticket, worth it.
Jen Greenfield
I heard about this exhibit from a friend that went and loved it. I went with a group of friends and we loved the exhibit! Would have stayed longer if we weren't on a time crunch. Absolutely loved the immersive room when you can sit back and enjoy learning about Van Gogh and his art.
Neon VPN
It was cool learning about the history of Van Gogh, but personally I expected a little bit more from the experience. You get an in depth look into his personal life and see some of his paintings, but it's nothing you wouldn't get from a regular art museum.
Regina Jefferson
Great fun! Really enjoyed the virtual reality as well as coloring . Brought out my inner child.Did not park inside the lot because it was plenty of street parking. Ohhh simply ask for your poster at the end of the tour. Enjoy! I did.
Sharon James
The immersive experience was beautifully done. There weren’t many people when I went, so people could grab a seat and watch the entire show. Not sure if it would be as good if crowded, though maybe they limit attendance. I enjoyed the art and learned a lot about his life.
Albert Leggett
It was a fantastic experience! I could've sat in the room where his paintings were being displayed/ projected on the walls/ floors for hours. The V.R. experience was great too!!
*parking was outrageous, maybe because of the Mariners game?
Carey Wong
Was a pleasant surprise to see canvas replicas of the paintings, video telling have story and storyboards prior to entering the large video room. Wish there was a little more of the story in the video room. Didn’t try the VR experience but looked cool. There is a coloring room after the video room that was fun to color famous pieces and post on the video wall. Worth going to see!
Michael Cochran
Very cool experience. Let me start off saying, I'm not sure I would have paid 100 if I had known that before we got there. But that would have been a mistake. The paintings were fantastic but the immersive room was where you got your money. I also think for, at that price, the vr experiances should be included.... That being said it was only five dollars extra so it wasn't too much of a price gouge. Over all a cool one time experience. It would be a great place to take a date for sure.
George DuWors
Still digesting the fact that VG was colorblind. He needed intense color to paint what he was seeing, yet he helped those of us without his disability to see better. Saw the three-dimensional vortex inside the stars of starry night for the first time and the immersion experience help me to see why people take LSD!
Jonathan Harris
This was great for our small kids on a rainy day. Though I think if they were over 4 then the price is too steep. They loved the huge immersive room as well as the crayon drawing area at the end.
Margaret Nichols
Beautiful! We loved the final room with the music and paintings combined. Very calming.
Erin Berkey
This was far better than I anticipated. There were many different experiences and the optional VR was amazing! There was even a free caricature artist to do portraits. Soo fun! I want to go again!
Tricia Flynn
Really enjoyed this immersive experience. Very creative!!
Richard Geasey
Really enjoyed it. Was great to learn more about Van Gogh and his life. Recommend paying the $5 for the VR experience. It was fun and tied things together.
Derek Wheeler
The exhibit was breathtaking. It was curated with nothing short of brilliance. I wouldn't ordinarily connect "Wheatfield with Cypress" with "A Starry Night" but seen with the latter on the left and the former on the right really gave like two completely opposite views and elevated both pieces to new heights.
David Saggio
We absolutely loved the experience!!! You should definitely go and experience it all for yourself !
Daniel Hanson
This didn't feel worth the price for the experience to me personally. It was cool to watch the immersive experience but it definitely felt like I was in a factory and they gave their B effort to set it all up. I'd maybe go if I had a coupon or Groupon for a discounted ticket.
Brigette Cabacungan
Fantastic! This is a great way to introduce artists to people of all ages. I also appreciated Fever emailing us to let us know that parking would be $$$ due to a football game and gave us the option to reschedule.
Joelle Orrino
We really enjoyed the whole exhibit. I was a little hesitant because I'm not a huge fan of art, but, the entire experience was so interesting and put together in an exciting and entertaining way.
Jeremy O'Bryan
This exhibit is a must-see for fans and anyone interested in the artist’s life and work. Very informative self-paced vignettes, then a massive video show in hi-def surround. Beautifully done.
Julie Magers
Lovers of Van Gogh will love The Immersive Experience! Multiple rooms with dynamic exhibits share the art, life story, and talent of Vincent Van Gogh revealing details you may not already know. The music and projections dance around visitors beautifully select paintings, such as The Bedroom, are brought to life in actual replica displays. I highly recommend this unique and masterful experience!
MsVichy MS MSc BA
I was amazed how 21st century technology was used to bring 19th century art and history to life! The venue is very inviting, e g. the Tea bar offering complimentary delicious blooming Tea. I purchased some from the gift shop!
Heather Carleton
Really a power test to experience Van Gough’s work - our 9 and 12 year old kids really engaged with the projection room. They are both on the Autism spectrum and the quiet immersive space, with music and projection just washed over them- I heard “cool transition!” “Wow!” On several occasions ;)
goldpop salon
What a blast, had a great time. Visually amazing. Go see it if it’s in your town. Maybe not for kids under 10 looks like they were bored.
Roxanne Mendez
I brought my 1 year old to this with my husband and truly enjoyed learning, and seeing so much about Vincent Van Gogh. This was truly an unforgettable experience for our family.
David Poole
The experience was amazing. Especially the VR! Seriously, the VR was very cool.
There is a projection room that places images on all four walls and the floor. That was also amazing.
Parking, however, is horrendous. That alone cost $75 because Diamond Parking owns the parking space that the Van Gogh Immersion uses. And it was a Mariner's game.
I don't fault the VG Immersion as they have no control over it. Just make sure there is no ball game (Mariner's or Seahawks) when you schedule your visit.
James Buchanan #104Life
What a beautiful experience!!!! Well done to all who have worked to make this a reality. Thanks!
Aditya Mehta
Parking is pricey. I found it okay compared to the exhibit they have in other cities.
Lorrie Bos
The immersive room was fascinating. The VR was new to me, so that was a fun experience. We enjoyed learning more about Van Gogh and purchased a few items in the gift shop.
Don MacFarlane
We really enjoyed the exhibit. Every part of the exhibit was interesting. The large room with the moving parts of Van Gogh’s art was amazing. The comfortable chairs and padded carpet that was provided for seating made for a comfortable experience to watch the animations. Also, the virtual reality goggle experience at the end of the exhibit was definitely worth the extra $5. Especially if you have never put on a VR headset before! Felt like a magic carpet ride through Van Gogh’s time and place.
Kippy Stafford
It Was INCREDIBLE...I Loved every second of it..and do the Virtual Reality with the headgear it so Amazing at the end of the exhibit A Must!!❤️
Newsha Makooi
What a wonderful and incredibly immersive experience. Visited a few night ago and absolutely loved it! I highly recommend this exhibit and the experience. Go and enjoy!
Lisa Allison
WOW, I am so glad I went. I feel like I have grown immensely by learning about this amazing person in history. We loved the VR room. You have to add it as extra to your experience, so worth it.
Kay Larson
Ever changing, fully interactive, informative and inspirational. Please don't miss this if you have the chance. All ages benefit in their own way.
Doris Dualan
I had no interest and never appreciated paintings before. Absolutely wonderful experience. I enjoyed learning about the artist behind the art!
KandiRae Graber
Such a wonderful experience shared with our family and 6mo granddaughter - she was fascinated by the color and light movement. We loved all the new information we did not previously know. Highly recommend!
Liana Schehr
Great experience! Absolutely no regrets getting VIP tickets. Parked on the street, 2 hours is more than enough to be in there. Only downside was that they allowed too many people in at once.
Elisabeth Doss
This experience was truly amazing, overwhelming and enchanting. I’ve seen a lot of his works in London and Paris, but this was still truly beautiful. Brought to tears three times (maybe more), I will definitely be back with friends and family.
Rebecca Anderson
It was educational along with being a unique and very relaxing way to view his art. I would highly recommend. It added a different dimension to looking at art.
Aleeshia Viktora
It was overall a really good experience. I didn't like the heavy focus on his mental instability. It was as if they glorified it. Otherwise, it was a really touching exhibit. We also got the chance to color his artwork ourselves with crayon (hand sanitizer was provided.)
Robert Bradshaw
A great way to enjoy the art of Van Gogh. I enjoyed both the immersive experience and the more educational material at the beginning.
Connie Blagg
I had heard what a great experience this was and It did not disappoint, this experience was truly amazing, so informative and the digital effects were mesmerizing absolutely loved the immersion experience great ending to the exhibit ❤️
Sean Anderson
Very fun would go again... We almost did ot was that cool. Give yourself more than the 65 or so minutes there are a few side activities that can add time. Also the main immersive experience runs on a loop and I could have watched kore than once to get it all in...
Kathleen Sullivan
Absolutely wonderful experience. Leaning in to the immersive nature rather than expecting a museum made it a really special time. The immersion room was so relaxing that it was like meditation once we gave ourselves over to it. I can’t wait to go back again
Sara Guasco
Absolutely mesmerizing. Great experience for everyone. Loved the colors, music, videos and VR. Great also for kids
John Faught
This was my first art exhibit. It was very well done. Not too much which would have overburdened my mind. It was perfectly laid out. The history of his life helped explain his paintings.
Montgomery Moose
Amazing experience. Great price, easy parking. The auditorium show blew us away. Everything was very well done. Thank you. Highly recommend.
Brooke D
I really enjoyed this! I liked the different areas and experiences they provided. Worth a visit if you enjoy Van Gogh's paintings!
R O
Superb! Return in a Seattle Moment. Exceeded our expectations. A few snags rerouting our experience from Jan - peak Omicron, to end of Feb, but someone FINALLY understood and obliged us.
Mandy Sessions
Go check it out! I lived in the Netherlands for 3 years a vis d the Van Gogh museum often. This brings it all to life. Beautiful 🤩 …
Goober Helmut
Wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The journey through van goughs life and works gave new understanding and appreciation for his works. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in art.
Mark Kittleson
Loved it! Such a cool way to experience and learn about Van Gogh. Great way to see his art come alive. And even be a part of it!
Kimberly Williams
I have now been twice and it exceeded my expectations both times. The first time I went was a Friday night, so it was pretty crowded and there were a lot of kiddos. I went again on a Thursday morning and it wasn't too busy at all. There isn't original work here, but Van Gogh's work is definitely brought to life with the experience. I HIGHLY recommend the VR experience as it really throws you in to how he saw the world.
Michelle Reneau
It is a little expensive, but worth it. It is a great family activity with lots of photo opportunities. You will leave knowing Van Gogh more. The best part was the art immersion.
K. Koleto
It was surprisingly wonderful and much less corny than I expected. We went through the whole thing in about 90 minutes. The VR is worth it too.
Shreya Sriram
Loved the exhibit. Talks about the life of Van Gogh, what inspired him, beautiful immersive exhibits of his work during his short life. Really glad that I got tickets to this wonderful experience!
Christle Hart
The experience was entertaining, informative, and well planned. It was easy to maneuver despite covid, the staff were amazing, and the immersive room was amazing. I could sit in the all day.
E L
It was pretty cool something a little different but not worth what i paid for the vip.
Amanda Walkingstick
Amazing show!!!! Easily speant an hour and half there. Beautiful way to experience the art. Thank you to all of the artists that brought this vision to life, I can't wait to see more!!!!
Maria “Ozziesterling” Sterling
Great setup. The main room was fabulous! I could sit in there forever!! Loved coloring my own Van Gogh!
M Koster
Had the most amazing time at the Van Gogh: The Immersion Experience. Could have stayed all day. Would definitely recommend this experience!! So glad to have been able to enjoy this!
Steve
Once in awhile a 5-star rating is insufficient. This is a solid 10 out of 5. I was stunned at perhaps the most remarkable experience of my life.
Michelle Mace
I've seen his original Masterpieces and although not the same, it was a unique experience to Van Gogh's body of work. I thought it was Awesome.
Jill L.
Unique and eye opening
No spoilers
You gotta go check it out
If you download the app and scan the QR codes it will take you to those info pages with audio available
That helps me 7 yr old gain better understanding of the contexts behind the art works
Rachel Writes
Cool to see, but very short. The best parts were the projected images and animations at the end.
Kim Doucett
It was a really fun & different way to experience an artist (with projection & sound). I took my parents & we all learned a lot about Van Gogh & especially enjoyed the last room with the collage of art immersion.
Tanya Crisp
Awesome exhibit! Definitely upgrade and do the VR experience. I learned so much about Van Gogh that I had never known before.
Diana Oskov
Great experience, amazing animation! Don't have to write more, go and experience it, there is no words to describe that.
Catherine Christ
This was well worth the price! A great way to get people interested in art that might not want to go to a museum. I’ve been to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam and I learned more about his life was was swept away by the visuals in this exhibit.
VB
There are no words for how this made you feel. A must see 👀. What an amazing gift from our son. Thank you 😊 …
Linda M
I was somewhat disappointed as I was looking for more about his adult life but maybe that was all there was in his life. Anyway it's a beautiful exhibit and you'll be glad you went.
sara Sanglier
Was AWESOME much better than expected & learned a lot about the artist that I did not know. I highly recommend spending the xtra 5 bucks for the virtual reality goggles. I would go again!!
harkesh sharma
Collection of Amazing pictures digitally & wall hangings.viewers can colour in pictures of van Gogh. Oculas show the Future technology was very interesting.
Jennifer Himstedt
Honestly, I was super worried about all the negative hype surrounding this event. But glad I stuck to my instincts. It was SO cool. If this comes to your town, go! Perfect for all ages!
David B. Peel (Peel Law Firm)
So worth it. Unique. You can Just allow art to wash over you. Even non art folks will find it well done. VIP package is running low on included freebies FYI. Worth every mile and every penny.
Elena T
The light room was so wonderfully made , pleasant music and awesome show!!! VR sharpness could be improved but it was worth $5! So recommend it!
Lizette Zayas
My husband and I were blown away with all the artwork, immersive experience, and virtual reality “trip” at the end! It really represented the gifted mind and talents of Vincent Van Gogh.
Marian Lockhart
Beautiful and inspiring! Just when you think you know almost everything about Van Gogh, this immersive exhibit comes around to reveal to you just how prolific an artist Vincent was during his 37 years. Do not miss this experience! Great music! Pulled the music up on Spotify for our drive home after the show!
Joni Sare
The VR experience was amazing but there’s so much more to this exhibit to talk about… 1) The surround experience of his paintings coming to life through animation complete with rain drops on the floor, see image. 2) Being able to sit in a scene that you’ve seen so many times, see image.
Dwayne Baruso
My review will fall into the category of "Awesome" exhibit! Easy access and exit. If you are on the fence about going....do it before the exhibit leaves. You will not regret it.
Carol Voogd
We were very happy with the intimate experience v what a museum would have. Worth the wait to get to see it!
David Morgan
The display was as creative as Van Gogh himself! However, facility was pretty warm....
suzanne ashton
Incredible experience! Easy parking and great food in walking distance. Pics are screenshots of the most amazing exhibit, vases and flowers changing. The experience was far beyond what I had imagined!!!
Cassandra Koelle
Woah. It was amazing. I took my kids and it was enjoyable, but this wasn't exactly their idea of a super fun good time. They're 3 and 4. But I loved it and so did my 16 year old niece! I'd absolutely go again! Without the littles.
Megan Fowler
So much fun! The VR experience is only $5 and was awesome! Highly recommended going while in town!
rena unap
Please Van Gogh to this experience if you appreciate the wonderful art of Vincent Van Gogh. Me and my boys absolutely loved it and learned so much
It's a must go!!
Ian McFall
A good friend gave me tickets to this event for Christmas. It was fabulous. I went on Christmas Day... the only time available when I booked. It was very busy, even at 6:30 pm. The exhibit was incredible and we spent two and a half hours there.
The physical displays of Van Gogh’s work are, of course, the best, but the Virtual Reality tour of Arles and the Total Immersion experience is both technically brilliant and a a work of art itself.
If this event isn’t on your “bucket list” it should be.
Well worth the time and money to see this while it is in Seattle
Ian McFall
Marziah Kiehn
This was a wonderful experience for my active 95 year old Mom and me. We loved it all. Don’t miss the 3-D experience. It is a $5 add on if you don’t purchase the VIP ticket.
Shane Miller
Loved it! The VR segment is worthwhile, as well. Though probably easier in contacts than glasses.
Nicole Bratt
Well done and fun! Come with plenty of time to linger. If you didn't get the "vip" ticket, pay the $5 to do the VR experience at the end. Worth it and possibly my favorite part!
Mar LaFayette
When they said "immersive" they meant it! Beautiful music, small crowd, sitting in the large room bathed in Van Gogh's life experience & beautiful images moving about, the virtual reality goggles that took me to his home, the forest, the wheat fields, and the town on the waterfront - just WOW. Was worth the 2-hr trip getting there and the price was affordable. Thank you for putting this together! I'll remember it always.
Neha Dimri
This an exceptional way to experience and learn about the work and life of Van Gogh. I would recommend everyone to go and grab the opportunity while it is in Seattle 😊 …
Janice Anne Melendres
I thought it was just a light show, but it end up being a bit more that what was expected. I do advise to bring extra cash for the following: parking, VR show, and gift shop. The location was not hard to find if you use your gps..it is across from Krispy Kreme, which makes it a little more fun lol. Enjoy the exhibit & Happy Holidays!!!! 💕🎄🎊
Corey Zapata
A breathtaking experience. Just get there earlier in the morning so parking is less expensive.
Abhiram Ravi
Absolutely loved it. I heard this isn't the same one as in NYC but I haven't visited the NYC one so nothing to compare to. Really recommend the additional $5 for VR experience as well
Shelly Gilbert
Second time going to see it as we didn't allow enough time to truly soak it all in on our first visit. If you can, allow for up to two hours to take your time, to read the historical information, watch the 3-D videos, sit through the Immersive Room show (about 45 minutes), take the virtual tour for an extra $5, and linger in the gift shop checking out the fun souvenirs. Definitely recommend adding it to your list of things to do while in Seattle!
David Goeden
It was very cool experience with how everything is laid out. The only reason why it's not 5 star review is because of the ventilation and the lack there of. It was like a sauna in the building. Maybe look into some industrial ceiling fans to circulate the air. Overall I had a great time with my wife.
Doris Williams
While you won’t see the brush strokes on replicas, you will be submerged by Art and music that makes your time out with Sister in my case, feel like there is time to breath even with a mask on!
I want to add the parking and ease of entry was 100% fantastic and unexpected.
Heinrich H
i paid for vip tickets, but it wasn't really worth the price. they don't have any of van Gogh's original work - only copies - and they don't have many copies. the immersive part was a room with art projected onto the walls with animated transitions. they also had some 3d plaster models of things van Gogh painted with his art projected onto them, which was interesting. better videos would've made the experience better. they also had a bunch of printouts of some of van Gogh's art with the color removed so you can color the art in yourself, but the paper they used is cheap, and the only coloring supplies they had were crayons, so, if you know how to draw, you'll be disappointed. if you've been to the van Gogh museum in Copenhagen, don't bother coming here.
S Leyva
Absolutely beautiful and enchanting. I learned new things, experienced the VR and the staff was kind and friendly. Great way to start the new year!! If you can find the time and the money, I suggest going. I also read they're working on bringing Frida Kahlo immersive in the future to Seattle. I am excited for more of these exhibits!

This was amazing! Definitely pay the extra $5 for the VR at the end. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was a hot August day. They did not have air conditioning or fans, and considering the price this should have been essential.
Feferi Peixes
It's boring and everything in the gift shop is over priced. They also charge you 5$ to do the VR experience when you're charged 50$ just to see the exhibit
Michael Reubel
This place is amazing. I didn't know much about Van Gogh besides his name & that he was a famous artist.
I have learned so much through this exhibit it ended up opening brand new perspective of him as a person not just an artist. I would say a few things that I've learned but...I think you should go check it out yourself 😊
Rick LaMarche
Van Gough's tubulent history and passionate talent are undeniable. However, the melding of that story and artform with the incredible technology of this exhibit is unprecedented and amazing!
Laneybird
So friggin cool. I don't usually have the attention span for museums but this exhibit totally captivated me. I learned so much and I have a whole new appreciation for and love of Van Gogh. I recommend getting the VIP pass, it was worth it.
Also, it would be nice to pack these two things: a blanket and gel pens or markers. Not gonna tell you why. NO SPOILERS!
Paid parking is easy. The lot uses an app called "ParkWhiz" that I wish I would've had downloaded ahead of time because we were running a little late due to the snowy/icy roads.
Enjoy! 🌻
Philip Alexander
It was fine. I learnt things. It was just a bit underwhelming. The VR portion was close to 10 minutes dispute being told it was 15 minutes. The 4-wall short film could've been better, and at least some reflective material could've been installed on the ceiling to add to immersion. For the DIY portion, there was limited colors available despite the exhibit emphasis Van Gogh's use of color.
Rebecca H
Great experience including still art, moving art and VR. The moving art was amazing...even the floor came alive. I'd pay to go again. Would have been better if the AC was working.
Leigh-Anne Marais
Beautiful! Would definitely recommend to go see! Learning the background of the paintings is very interesting! We didn’t want to leave the immersive experience, it was wonderful!
Roger Yoh
The exhibit was great, and the immersive experience was awesome. However, the place was hot as a sauna. Avoid the time when there’s a ball game so you don’t have to pay $62 for parking.
Just A Brown Girl
Great exhibition! Only issue is the ceiling in immersive room. The entire room should be covered, it will make for a better experience. Just my humble opinion.
Roxy Doll
As much as I would like to say I loved this. It was extremely hot in this building. No air no fans or AC. Gift shop is a bit over priced. But the experience overall was good as we were with family.
Patrick Elze
I learned so many new things about Van Gogh's life and inspirations. This is a worthwhile visit for any lover of his work!
Christina Jay
Very emotionally stirring. I loved learning more about his life. Wonderful. Gave as a birthday gift to my sister and she loved it ☺️
Matt Shepard
It was super friendly! Lots of great art to look at, and it was a fun experience. I definitely will recommend it.
Brenda Long
This was my 5th time. Took different family members when in town. Enjoyed it every single visit! WARNING: Mariner games use up their parking lot. May need to park away from exhibit.
Daniel Littleton
Such an epic experience! Make sure to register as a student if you are for a discount and such 🙂
Really nice to chill and sit back watching the awesome artwork fly by.
KATHLEEN YEAROUT
This experience was so different and fun and informative and at the end you sat in a room and took in the lights and pictures and stories. It was so relaxing. Great time!
Kathleen Schy-Berg
On my 3 visit, I took my 6 and 8 year old granddaughters who also loved it!
sandi van kirk
The exhibit was very well done, highly recommend it. My only complaint was the building was very hot. The VR experience was okay but because it was so hot I was literally dripping sweat by the time ended. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise.
m k
I loved this experience! Definitely try the VR experience at the end. It's 5$ more, and totally worth it.
Kate Crawford
I would recommend to anyone considering going. My daughter and I completely enjoyed the experience. It was beautiful, informative and poignant.
Aparajita Das
Awesome experience! Art gallery at the new and next level!! 2 hours was just not enough. Will visit again for sure!
Aditi Dhar
It was a great date night. End exhibit was immersive and beautiful and perfect respite from covid
William Liu
Amazing experience! One of the most unique art exhibits I’ve ever seen.
Carmen Jimenez-Smith
We are from San Francisco and just recently visited the Van Gogh experience there but we just lived it much much more here. It was perfect in all aspects.
Monee Hamm
It was a great show.....if I lived in the area I'd go to see it again!
Brad Cummins
Very much enjoyed the exhibit, but paid for VIP and didn't feel that the price difference was worth it.
CK CANative
This was a very unique experience. The presentation space was well done with seating areas to comfortably stay to enjoy and be mesmerized by the music and display.
Jasmine
quiet, and the right amount of people. i went in the evening and it was peaceful and not too crowded! loved everything about it, especially the last room with the chairs and rugs. would definitely recommend to others.
Margaret Wright
This was so unexpected to be as wonderful as it was. We spent 3 hours, enjoying every aspect. The verbiage in the signs through our were well done and so very informative.
Honestly the only thing I would add...in the gift shop. A booklet on his comments, saying on life and painting. Without that to go along with the narrative and paintings, something would have been a miss. He was so profound in many ways. What a tormented life that put out such beauty!!!
The experience was amazing!
Catherine Brown
Need to be more accessibly focused. Headphones and slow down image changes for the visually impaired. Wheelchair access was great except at entering and exiting.
Susan Purkett
To get the full experience really read the posted stories and information about Vincent. Or do the audio. Sit at least twice through the Immersive to fully appreciate it. Pay the extra 5 bux for the VR. Worth it! Bring water and a snack.
lee baron
Virtual reality experience worth it. The basic admission has the immersion room though and that was incredible
Whitney Buckingham-Beechie
Absolutely amazing! Loved it all, especially the immersion exhibit and VR.
B. Olyn Price
Worth it. I wouldn't have gone but was asked to go by my date. Exceptional, relaxing enjoyable experience. Just Gogh!
Shawna Jaeger
Really enjoyed the experience! The giant room was beautiful and I could have sat there for hours and watched the show. I do wish they had more prints on the wall to see when walking through the gallery but otherwise it was great to learn about his life and all he did. We did the VR thing which cost extra but I really liked it! It was really neat and loved seeing everything in that manner. Its worth a visit to check out for sure.
Ronda Laybourn
We loved it! We spent 2 hours learning about Van Gogh's personal life & artistic influences while mesmerized by his art!
Sasho Javor
Very cool experience, was educational, creatively put together, and pretty profound after it was all said and done. Nice!
Deirdre Ruiz
We visited this expo for second time with extended family. It was amazing again. My favorite part was the room with immersive media.
Sandra Sandford
This exhibit was phenomenal. Nothing like what I expected but it certainly captivated me. Absolutely worth the price of admission, and had I had more time I would have done the virtual aspect as well. I’m sure it would have been worth it. The one and only down side to my attendance was the parking. There was no shortage, but following instructions provided for paying for it was useless…..all done via cell phone with repeated error messages. I observed and spoke with several other groups having the same difficulties. I wasn’t able to get the transaction completed and (being near downtown Seattle) worried the entire time about being ticketed or towed.
Marialaura Suarez
It was a super interesting and unique experience. They were very creative with all the art. Ten out of ten 👍🏻 …
Aaron Drake
I took my college age son and wife to this. Overall, I think it was a bit pricey but a very unique experience from a visual and audio standpoint.
The "big room" was my favorite part. They have comfortable deck chairs set up and encourage sitting and watching the 1/2 hour 360 degree projection which highlights his work over the years set to cinematic music.
We didn't do the virtual headsets thing since it was an extra $5 and we took a quick walk through the gift shop. I'm not a real big art enthusiast but still I think it was worth doing once. NOTE: This tour does not include any actual Van Gogh works, one would have to go to NYC or Paris to catch those.
Alice Lifegoeson
I personally enjoyed this experience. However, if you are expecting all of the rooms that are advertised on the searches of this experience, tread with caution. I loved the walk through experience. It was interactive and beautiful. I recommend being mindful of the crowd of people enjoy this experience as well. I personally entered and went straight for the center of the attraction and the worked my way back to the beginning just before the 30 min mark when the next group of people would have been let in so that I could enjoy the entire experience without the crowd. Either way, I was disappointed when I found that the sunflower room was not on the list of rooms at this experience. Either way, I was still just as interested and glad I went.
Alisa Kilmer
Go see the Van Gogh experience. What a wonderful display of his work and his thoughts on life. Bring the whole family and go see it. It was wonderful time.
Allison Robes
Loved being inside his paintings. It was relaxing to sit and watch. Really great experience.
Stephanie Outsen
This was a great expierence, My husband and I took the day for ourselves and it was a very relaxing time. I loved reading about his life and seeing all the different ways his art can be displayed. The immersion room was my favorite. So relaxing i could of spent all day in there and taken a nap. A great time and so many options in the gift shop!!
Darcy J
Love the virtual reality part of the exhibit, could have sat all day in the big room. A wonderful place to relax & be surrounded by beauty. Definitely recommend!!!
Judy Myall
I have been wanting to attend this exhibit for months and finally got to go this weekend and it didn't disappoint.
From the moment we entered we were directed inside and I could see that the organizers took great care at giving the audience the freedom to wander and experience the world of this artist.
I highly recommend it and I would definitely go again if given the chance.
Helena Ramirez-Watson
I absolutely loved this experience. It was a so beautiful and a touching tribute to such an important artist. The whole time I kept thinking about the Doctor Who episode and thinking about what Van Gogh would think about his art come to life. I can't wait to experience the other artists that are planned.
Holly Chambers
The exhibit was beautiful, all the virtual effects were breathtaking and the whole thing was amazing! It was easy to get to and they had a very nice parking attendant in the building lot. Got a poster for being VIP and the gift shop was a nice touch. The virtual reality goggles were a cool option at the end too! Really overall a must see exhibit! I’d recommend everyone go if you can!
James Landon
Fantastic exhibition! Very immersing. Must spend the extra fee bucks for the virtual reality exhibit. If you're a Von Gogh fan, plan to spend at least two hours here.
Janelle Guthrie
This event was just as awesome I expected. The detail and information provided was incredible. I loved the immersive experience and the VR experience was very cool as well. I’m glad I went with the VIP pass!
April Gibson
Very interesting & different experience. Enjoyed learning more about Van Gogh & his works. Be sure to do the coloring at the end!
Erica Y
Really wonderful experience. I would recommend it for people of all ages!
Suzanne Rowley
Loved it, as did the 13 and 18 yr olds who were with me. Entire exhibit was extremly well done.
Eliana Lobo
Beautiful and awe-inspiring! Plus, so nice to share space with a mellow crowd of all ages, once more. Thanks for requiring proof of vaccination!
Eric Haller
This immersive experience was incredible !! I got the VIP passes for my wife’s birthday. We really enjoyed ourselves. It took us a little over two hours to enjoy the full experience. Go to learn so much more than we would have thought.
Experienced virtual reality for the very first time.
Plan on bringing your vaccination card because they’re going to want to see it at the front door.
I would 1000% recommend this.
Something Suzzanne
I came expecting an experience, and it was better than I imagined. The immersion and virtual soothed and surprised. It was amazing!
Jill Love
Fabulous event! Loved all the different experiences - learning the history in a museum format, followed by our own opportunity to share our inner artist, virtual reality showing the inspiration behind the paintings, and then a museum shop. It was excellent for our entire family!
KARRIE OSBORNE
Wonderful experience. We loved learning about the artist's life and the deeper meaning of his paintings. And, WOW! The Immersion section was wonderful. Pacing and moving about was slow and easy as we walked and enjoyed the paintings. We did not feel rushed so we could relax and enjoy the show. I am so glad I chose the 9:30 AM showing. It was a great way to start our day.
Jack
After some time has gone by I decided to upgrade my review since my only issues were with the lack of service. The general experience was still worth it in my opinion. I went twice, a first time experience is definitely worth it.
Janet DeLapp
This was the most amazing exhibit I and my group has ever seen. It was not only awesome it was magical. The venue was perfect, parking was a breeze. I think this exhibit will change how we view the visual arts forever. They really pulled it all together. I don't understand all the technology that was used to create it but I can imagine the time, effort and creatively it took to get this completed. Top notch and worth every penny. I only wish Van Gogh was there to witness it, he would have cried with happiness to see a world that finally saw the world as he did. Thank you, this art was really needed.
sue worthington
Fantastic display of light and art!!! I had a fun date with my sweetheart. We love museums and art!! He and I spent over 3 hours taking it all in!! It was a well spaced out venue, never seemed too crowded and the music was paired up perfectly to the light show. We also really enjoyed the VR experience!! We will recommend this to our friends!
Jessica Durney
I originally bought tickets around Christmas but had to cancel due to snow, and Fever made the process of switching dates pretty easy. The exhibit is beautiful and contains a good combination of traditional examples of the art (copies on canvas), and some unique 3D exhibits. It's smaller than I had expected and the large room with projections around the walls was really the star of the experience. $45 seems a little pricey for what you get out of it, and it's definitely just a one-time show, I wouldn't go back again. But it was an enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half on a rainy day!
kathy tessmer
The flow was good, the information of the artist was good. Enjoyed very much.
Anastasia Bekris
Had a great time experiencing the works of Van Gogh in a completely different way! Definitely would recommend!
kim leatham
There is a very small crowd, i.e., no crowd, allowing time and a very personal experience. It is quite incredible and the immersion in color is fantastic!
nancy tannler
The whole experience was wonderful. The employees were helpful. Everything was spaced nicely so you never feel crowded, even though a lot of people are viewing the exhibit. The exhibit is just the right length. The modern day technological creativity mixed with Van Gogh's painting style was exciting. I think the Artists would have loved seeing this.
Jim M
While a little pricy (VIP event + parking + refreshments) it made for an overall pleasant experience. Don't fall for the "only a few tickets available" alerts, there are many available time slots.
Visually appealing overall. Some of the reproduction paintings displayed (and for sale $100) were washed out and muted.
Did learn a lot about Van Gogh that we had not heard before.
Highly accessible event. Not a lot of walking, places to sit are generally abundant. Parking was close to the entrance which has a full ramp, event is otherwise all on a single level.
Nathan Caldwell
Even if you are not an art lover, and know little or nothing about Van Gogh, you'll probably have a great time at this experience, and understand the big deal about Van Gogh's art.
Carole Taubman
Very different and involving. Worth it. I even learned a little more about Van Gogh.
Hiedi Wurster
Absolutely amazing. Such a fun, educational experience. Loved every aspect of it. I have to admit, the virtual reality stole the show, but even if you choose to not do the VR, there are so many other aspects. The immersion hall was spectacular. I could have stayed all day. If you did not appreciate Van Gogh before going to this, you definitely will after! Worth every penny!
Michael G. Barash
Great job, better than I expected. We really enjoyed, thank you!
Alison Cantey
An enjoyable outing with a good bit of Van Gogh’s personal history. Great to spark interest in art for kids and young adults.
Mary Wood
Greenscreen experience was broken ... but we paid full price fir the 4 rooms and the best part was going to be the greenscreen and it was broken
Susan Todd
It is an amazing experience. I have been twice and will go a few more times before it leaves because I want to take other people
Katrina Romero
Very cool experience. The curators did an excellent job and recreating the works of Van Gogh in a very magical way. The Seattle building is VERY hot. There is no AC. The bathrooms are fancy portables, which is micj appreciated. My only other complaint is that the gift shop pricing made zero sense. Some items you would expect to cost a lot were excellently priced, but the smaller items were wild!! A postcard for $16?? We buy and send postcards everywhere we go, even this holographic card wouldn't go for $16 . Ever!
All in all, it was a great time and I recommend it to anybody.
Sunny Jackson
We were looking for something fun to do with the kids that would also be a learning experience. I'm so glad we chose this show. It was lovely and I learned even more about Vincent Van Gogh. The living art room is truly cool, I could've stayed in there all day. Highly recommend it!!
Kelly Malleck
Well done! My daughter and I enjoyed the exhibit a lot, and I've recommended it to several friends.
Victoria Casey
Beyond our wildest dreams. ❤
Karen Taliesin
Excellent space, incredible exhibit, beautiful music. Staff was so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. VR experience was amazing. Highly recommended!!!
Eric Stokely
Definitely worth the drive up to see this experience, very well done and centered mainly on his art and enough background to help understand some of the influences. Make sure you download the app at the beginning and use the app to access the extra material in the exhibit.
Rhommy Logerman
This was amazing!! If you have the chance to see it, GO!
Vilma Yoder
His life story was one of a kind. The gift shop was great.
Brandi Zabawa
Beautiful displays. The music paired well with the art being shown. I loved the trains moving through the connecting pieces. Lovely.
Denise Merat
So beautiful I was in tears
Suzie Shaffer
This is my second time seeing the show and I loved everything. The displays were clear and gave us an excellent understanding of Vincent's life. We even learned about the paints he used and his unique vision problems. The immersion was breath taking, fantastic technology. We really enjoyed the chance to do the virtual reality show, the $5 cost was well worth it. I would go for a third time. Thanks everyone for this experience
Lori Hackbarth
Absolutely enjoyed the entire exhibit. The VR experience was the culminating sensory pleasure.
Kelly Nordstrom
Beautiful and magical. Compassionately painful to learn more about Van Gogh’s inner struggles and sort of “meet” him, his brother, and his friend.
Chris Guthrie
Excellent exhibit. Maybe could've been a bit longer. But otherwise, really good!!!
Jody Mclean
Amazing interactive experience- very well done and professional. We left feeling inspired! Highly recommended.
M. Watkins
Absolutely amazing experience! Hint for the Seattle experience, go to the desk for the correct QRU code to pay parking; the QRU codes on the signs in the lot are incorrect (as of 9/24/22).
David James
Great experience . Very informative
4 wall video presentation impressive
VR tour was fantastic .
Lu Wright
Super fun, well organized and clean environment. It was easy to find parking nearby.
alexis
Great date night idea! I would do it again with my girlfriends too.
Katia Ortiz
Something different, fresh, and creative; a nice weekend activity especially if you have children/teens. There's a special section for children to draw and a VR experience section. The area outside is not very nice so I would recommend eating before arriving. The exposition itself is cool but maybe not worth the hype (at least not in this location) the green screen experience was smaller than I imagined and it was hard to enjoy with so many people in there; maybe if you go in a day where it is less crowded it's amazing.
Shelley Greer
This is incredible! I could go on like this forever! As a virtual reality tech wannabe, it's awe inspiring! As a hope to be soon emerging artist myself, this was very inspiring, hearing what Van Gogh's personal art experience was, and how it's like my own --wow! And the VR experience with the goggles is absolutely not to be missed -- I felt like Van Gogh himself was right there with me, artist to artist.
E.L. Scott
Absolutely fantastic! A must see, including the additional VR experience at the end.
Sandi Tanco
Awesome event. Learned things I didn't know, and had fun with the activities. The effects were amazing, and the VR experience was cool.
Terry Robertson
Wow! Just wow!! The entire exhibit was wonderful. And I highly recommend paying the few extra bucks for the virtual reality phase at the end. But take your time with the story boards and, of course, the immersion portions. Each phase builds to the next for an amazing don’t-miss experience.
Barb
Wonderful time! We were there a full two hours.we could have stayed longer. The virtual reality was cool only wish it was longer!amazing
Barry Broman
Absolutely stunning. I was blown away by the entire experience. We went for the VIP tier and even at that price, it was definitely worth it for us. From start to finish, it was something really special. I never experienced something like this before. A massive shoutout to those who worked so hard to make that happen in this space. You did a masterful job and it was an experience I will never forget. Thank you.
Catherine Blankenship
We loved it, we even took our 3 year old granddaughter and she had a great time! It’s well worth the effort to go.
Amanda Moore
It was an awesome experience! Would definitely recommend. Our 9 year olds were pretty engaged throughout and enjoyed the VR headsets at the end.
Cheryl Holien
It was pretty. It was relaxing. Parking was easy. It was a nice experience, but it seems to me that it has been given a lot of hoopla for a relatively mediocre show. However, if you just can't get enough of Van Gogh, this is a good place to spend a 60-90 minutes.
Lindsey Russell
Incredible and mind blowing
Caitlin Conway
Such a great date idea ❤️ we went on Valentine's day and had a lovely experience. Parking wasn't too much of an issue and the experience was totally different than normal art museums. It was cool to feel like you were IN the artwork itself. Very cool! Highly recommend!
Sharon Northup
This exhibit is phenomenal from start to finish! Even if you are not a fan of art exhibits, this one is a must see. It is visual delight.
Andrea Tucker
Really liked this and made me curious of how exhibits like this are arranged from star to finish. Worth seeing and learning about Van Goughs sad life
Jo-Ann Gorski
It was so interesting and the immersion was phenomenal! Also the ability to go onto the app on your phone and if you had a headset you could listen to the explanation of Van Gogh's paintings and life. Great show!
Forrest Rees
An incredible experience! Make sure you show up right on time, because you'll want every single minute you get there! Plus the VR is OFF THE CHAIN! Go!
Crystal Amo
Overall enjoyed the experience. The immersive room was very cool. My only real complaint was that I wish the children were on the rugs on the floor versus taking up seats that some adults could have used. Was interesting to learn about how troubled him mind really was and the absolute beauty of his work
James Stiles
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the imaginative way that Van Gogh's art and his life were presented. The biographical information was a revelation to us, the different ways in which his art was presented was completely different from any exhibition we have visited.. The "VR" portion was amazing! We felt that the program length was appropriate. An excellent value, and we look forward to seeing more such presentations.
Classicalbean
We went on a weekday afternoon. We were originally concerned about social distancing and sanitation. There were only a few people in the venue and it felt was clean and safe.
The immersion experience was very well done—beautiful, relaxing, and educational.
The virtual reality experience totally took us into van gogh’s paintings. It was unique.
Jen Maurice
I loved this exhibit. It was stunning. I was on the verge of tears several times at the sheer beauty and creativity both from Van Gogh and those who had the vision and skill to bring it all to life. My only complaint (my reason for 4 stars and not 5)was that it was more crowded than I expected and it was a challenge to find a place to sit during the total immersion part, which is important in order to experience the full impact. I would go again in a heart beat. ❤️
Cecilia Soh
Amazing! To have famous paintings of Van Gogh dissected and shown in 3D was a true immersive experience
Janine Alabdullah
This was well worth the wait. Liked it so much we went twice
GETITDONE
The experience was phenomenal, my eyes were drenched in beauty, I was left in awe and wonder as my imagination was brought to it's utter pique of creativity. His work has made light to a new meaning for art, meaning that a near few can comprehend. His saying "I put my heart and soul into my work, and I lost my mind in the process" -Van Gogh he put his heart into his painting like never seen before and I was graced by this immersion. The drama and calmness were so well balanced it was sensational, I would say more, but that would rob the experience, all I want to say is the Van Gogh experience is worth your time and energy and money, a true masterpiece of work.
Jennifer Galloway
The cons: A general admission ticket is 45 dollars and does not include VR which is an extra 5 dollars... which you would assume is part of the point of this immersive experience. It was very crowded and not as spaced out for covid as I would have hoped, there wasn't room at the drawing table so the rest of the experience after the video room felt super short and anticlimactic. This is nitpicking but I thought it was a little bit of an odd choice to put an alcohol booth right next to this description board talking about his struggles with alcohol. The pros: The exhibits are beautiful, informative, and haunting. I felt like I learned more about him then actually seeing his pieces in New York. I'd recommend, but I'd say the value of the ticket though is no where close to 45 dollars. It was a fun experience overall but it was because we made a night of it going to dinner before, and curb your expectations as I had seen recommended in other reviews.
Mechelle Booke
Amazing !!! Loved a few of his paintings but didn’t know much about who he was or the life he led. This experience helped me to come to know more about him. The large open space where the paintings came alive was mesmerizing. The VR experience was totally cool. Highly recommended!
Kathy Cultice
Thoroughly enjoyed this exhibit from beginning to end. The room where the paintings came to life was amazing and exceptionally well-produced. We learned a lot about Van Gogh’s life and struggles, which made me love his artistry even more. Also loved the VR experience. Well done!!
Bill Merrow
We are both serious Van Gogh fans and this display was outstanding. The VR experience was the best I have ever had. The projection system you use is incredible. Access was simple with no backup and no confusion about the process. I am a photographer and will include some photos in the review - highly recommend this show/exhibit to all photographers. The whole show was fantastic and we did a repeat visit with a family friend who was highly impressed. Will likely be doing another visit especially if more material is added to the display.
Elizabeth BB
Absolutely amazing and better than I expected. I was moved, excited, and stunned by the beauty and depth the exhibits elicited.
Dalila Medina
it was a wonderful experience. I really loved it and would go back again.
Abby White
We originally had tickets for December 30th but the power had gone our. They told us we could come backamy time and use our tickets. Fast forward to today. We unfortunately hadn't been given a voucher and didn't come in time to come. The ticket company, Fever, was useless. But after explaining our situation to the manager they gave us the VIP treatment and even let us stay and enjoy while they cleaned and shut everything down. It turned our experience around. It is really am amazing exhibit.
H B
Phenomenal experience!
Proof of vaccination required for entry.
Lezlie Pickett
Visually STUNNING, intellectually intriguing, and beautiful background music that is perfectly orchestrated to add to the immersive experience! The 3-D experience (with the VIP ticket) is incredible! You can take as much time as you want to go through the experience...without feeling rushed or crowded out. It was a fantastic experience!
Phyllis Cantor
Don't book tickets on the day of an event at the stadium as the price of parking nearby is over $70, unless you can find street parking which is difficult. Otherwise this is a wonderful experience. You literally feel like you are in the paintings. The VIP experience is the same but even more so.
Misty Jones
This was a lovely experience!
The VR was well worth the wait and rounded up a splendor of our day
Very exciting!
Greg Silvan
Highly recommend. The tour was very informative, and the immersive experience was as close to getting into the mind of Van Gogh as they could make it. A wonderful blend of art, animation, and music. The virtual reality experience was also amazing even though I was slightly disoriented at first.
Betsy Papaly
Really worth visiting and experiencing. Better than an art gallery as the paintings come to life.
Pam Corbray
The exhibit was awesome and definitely worth going. I would have given 5 stars but my son, his girlfriend and 1 year old were asked to leave because they were told the people in the experience room did not want to hear Ayla who was not crying or fussy, she was loving it. My husband and I went yesterday and the room was literally packed with kids and a few babies, people wandering taking videos and pictures and it was not bothersome at all. My son and his family did not get to see the entire live show and for the price I don't think that was fair.
Patricia Wetherby
Gorgeous exhibit! Definitely a must go for art lovers and people who enjoy immersive exhibits. Everything is projection mapped so if that's not your thing, you're not going to like it. This is the kind of place you go to and take a couple hours to get through. I highly recommend paying the extra $5 for the VR. Stay a while and if getting high is your thing, this would be perfect for that.
Owen J. Murray
What a fun and well done interactive experience…thank you.
Jen Buchanan
The beginning was slow, not much for the size of the venue but then you enter the immersive part of the show and I do mean show! It was spectacular. Then the VR experience...... No words could even begin to describe this experience. It made the ticket prices, the price for parking, the slowness at the start all worthwhile! I was disappointed by the constant crashing of the app so the ability to follow a path and more information was taken away. I would have loved to have the information that was supposed to be available to me. Having the dinosaur exhibit next door was a little off putting as well with the noise. But like I said before the VR experience made it everything for me! A must do!
Kitten Burgett
This was wonderful!!! What a fantastic way to enjoy the talent of a great artist. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't enjoy this experience. Do pay the extra few bucks for the virtual reality experience, you won't be sorry.
Kim Nikazy
Go! Make sure to take your time and Do the VR experience at the end. My husband wasn't too excited to go but went because I wanted to (awwwe) we both had a really good time. Very informative, the light shows were amaxing.. was just a really neat experience.
Bee Ivey
Fantastic! Stunning! You will love it! I do wish they showed more of his paintings, like his Japanese series, but you won't walk away too disappointed. And pay the extra $5 and do the vr experience. And maybe bring a light psychedelic for the 2nd half.

This was absolutely fantastic! Loved every aspect of the exhibit. A truly mind bogging experience. A must see!! I could go again and again. Don't miss the virtual reality experience at the very end and don't go when you are short on time. You won't want to leave.

Truly Amazing!! We traveled 4 1/2 hours to see this and would do it again in a heartbeat! So we'll organized and put together. The initial part of the tour is learning about Van Gogh and his life and artistry. It includes visually physically moving art and paintings. The next was the large room with 360 degrees of projection. It will show him, his art, and his schizophrenic hallucinations. The last is the VR with was INCREDIBLE and so worth it!!! Gift store has a lot to choose from.

My 5 year old and a 13 year old loved it and asked to go back. The immersive room is mesmerizing and inspirational. Reading about Van Gogh's life and seeing some of his art come to life was a nice interactive experience. My kids were intrigued and inspired. We had many discussions about the artist's journey and about mental illness. We will be back again.

Amazing exhibit -- especially the 360 degree digital art experience. Mind blowing. You can sit in the large room -- wide open -- not crowded and take in a magnificent show!! Highly recommended! Well worth the price. I did not do the VR -- virtual reality -- wish I would have because it was only $5 more!!

Absolutely did not let me down - loved the freedom to roam at my own pace - the virtual show was excellent.

Super cool experience! Exhibit may not be suitable for those sensitive to flashing lights

Amazing experience that surpassed my expectations. I was glad I was warned in advance to plan to hang out in the big immersive room for a long time - be sure you catch the entire 30-minute+ show! And don't miss the last VR experience - it's phenomenal. We just paid the $5 there to add it on, and we're glad we didn't skip it. The A/C wasn't working when we went today, so that made things a little uncomfortable, especially during the VR "ride."

Fantastic experience for all ages. We brought 1, 8, 11, 35, 40, 50 and 65yr olds and everyone had fun.

This is an interesting wheelchair accessible place about the history of Vincent Van Gogh. The only thing I was a bit off turn by was there is VR near the end but the chairs are bolted to the ground so it's a bit hard for anyone in a wheelchair to use unless they can transfer into the chairs which are fairly high. Otherwise, this is a great place.

Really loved this experience! The big immersion room was our favourite aspect of this. The VR was another highlight. Some info was a little different than what I'd heard in the past which has me curious - such as him being colour blind and which painting was his last. I suppose some things have been contested so it's food for thought :) Very fun.

Such an incredible experience! Easy to find, ample parking, and the Exhibit is wonderful! The Immersion room, with 3D features and beautiful music was astounding! The VR tour is great too: definitely do this! The entire set up from beginning to end was wonderful. I took at 12 y.o. & 10 y.o. and both loved it. Want to do it again while it's here and would love to see any future exhibits this company may do.

Well worth the price. Take the time to read all of the written material in the first two rooms, as well as watching the short documentary and the digital displays. They contain a lot of really good material about Van Gogh's life and art that will enhance your appreciation for the immersion experience in the large room. The immersion experience was beautiful and I especially loved the "Almond Blossoms" trees. I felt like I was in an orchard bursting with blossoming trees and a warm breeze blowing over me. Definitely go if you get a chance.

Wonderful experience. Immersed in his work and audio that drives the experience to different heights. If you're and art enthusiasts this is the place for you. Even if you aren't, it's still a wonder to behold

I have always yearned to walk into certain Van Gogh paintings. This Immersive Experience made me feel like I was doing just that. The magic makers, those who can blend and morph images and put them on the screen are geniuses. The last part of the exhibit was completely magic with his works swirling, opening, transforming, moving, falling, dripping, sparkling . . . I do not know how they did it, and would love to know, but suffice it to say they created something truly phenomenal, magical, memorable. I believe if Vincent were to see this, he would marvel along with the rest of us and be completely transfixed . . . smiling the entire time. It was one of the most memorable and magical experiences of my life. Thank you. Thank all those magic makers, please!

Absolutely recommend it to everyone! But, if you like to absorb all the information and visuals in the gallery portion allow more time, like another hour, because you will definitely want to stay for the entire immersion - so beautifully presented. And, if you got the VIP package (and you shouldn’t miss it), you will need more time for that - only 15 minutes but then there is the coloring fun after that.

Spectacular! I am not an art museum lover but this is a "must see". Visually stunning. The 3D room was amazing. The music, visual effects and art were stunning. I could have watched it over and over. I highly recommend the Oculus experience at the end. $5 extra dollars but well worth it.

This experience is great for person not familiar with the life and death of vincent van gough, his works and his working area. It shows that alot of money was put into this exhibit, it is not meant for art critics or art majors or painters, since there is no real painting there

Excellent experience. Thoroughly enjoyable. Art came to life

Was a very unique exhibit, just didn't feel it is worth the price of admission. Love that they highlight most of his work and tell the story behind it - educational, interesting and beautiful. Give yourself a full hour to see it all. I wish there were more of the chairs in the main room. I tried chairs, benches and floor and the chairs were definitely the best view/comfort but not enough of them for everyone. Also wish they found a way to project on the ceiling for a fully immersive experience. I have been in similar immersive art rooms that executed better
