Reviews of Joslyn Castle & Gardens
Melanie Tichenor
The docents were great, especially the one who gave our tour! We had a couple young kids on our tour and she made it fun and engaging for everyone. I learned some very interesting things from her. She wasn't pulling my leg! Highly recommend this beautiful and historic place.
Thy Chea
It has specific times for visits with info at the door. There were restrooms for tourists only to use within the floors of the castle. Their gift shop is just in development. Tour guide was a great storyteller. Well kept place with people working all over the place.
Kim Weir
A gorgeous estate that has been carefully preserved and restored. The 1-2 hour tour is completely worth it & rich with Omaha history. The admission price is super low too!
Fiona Bratvold
Bobby, our tour guide was great - she was funny and kept the tour interesting. The house was very well preserved & beautiful and the history surrounding it was amazing. This is a definite to do.
Joss Slagle
This beautiful castle has magnificent features and a great history to go along. The tour guide was excellent and gave us history of the family and the castles evolution. $8 for college students. $10 for adults. Well worth every penny. If I had one bit of criticism to give I would like to see prettier tee shirts in the gift shop for purchase.
Rich Shelby
Beautiful and informative! Most of the castle is still intact, but some modifications have been made by previous tenants that are appreciated, but have taken from the beauty and originality of the upper floors of the building.
Michael Miller
Tours are limited so read about their tour times before going. Once you arrive you'll be treated to a one hour and forty-five minute tour. Quite extensive, but there is a lot to see at the mansion. I can't recommend this enough. Where else are you going to see Scottish Baronial style nearby?
Daydreanne Loftis
Such a beautiful place. Offers tours for $10 for adults. Also offers deals with photographers to do photoshoots which is what we did. Gave me a princess photoshoot in the gardens on the grounds and it turned out beautifully.
Jim Jacobs
A beautiful piece of history with many great tales passed through generations. Definitely need to make this a stop on your visit to Omaha.
Carley Lynch
Very beautiful. We just visited the grounds as we didn't have availability for the tours. The fall colors against the meticulous landscaping was very nice. I hope next time we visit we will have time for the tour.
Kirk Bratvold
An informative tour of Joslyn Castle that touches on the history of the city, the site, and the family.
Good for adults, but kids might struggle to enjoy this.
Sue-Ellen Haas
A beautiful old home that looks like a castle. We enjoyed it with the exception of having to wear a mask. Our friends didn't want to wear a mask so they waited outside for us.
Matt
Great history and architecture. Beautiful grounds. Definitely worth the tour.
Ty
Beautiful place! Great tour guide, informative!
Bridget Battafarano
The castle is a truly unique Omaha treasure. They offer tours of the castle itself with plenty of lovely architecture and historical background. They also host fun local events and are available for reservations. The grounds of the castle are stunning as well and open to the public all day and into the evening. A perfect place for a lunchtime walk in the bird sanctuary or pollinator garden and I believe it is officially an arboretum as well.
Jamie Nestroyl
The gorgeous Joslyn Castle is a MUST SEE and a MUST DO if you are in Omaha! The history is amazing, the house is exquisite. We have been to many events at the Joslyn over the years but did a Sunday tour for the first time recently. Our guide was so knowledgeable and had quirky fun facts about the castle and the Joslyns!
Colleen Dixson
Very beautiful mansion! Loved the tour! Just did the regular tour but I'd love to see the closed area tour sometime. The mansion is well cared for and the history of the Josyln family was informative. Here's to imagine a wedding there but I'm sure the whole house transforms
Monkee barrel
We went on one of their scheduled tours, Thursday at 2:00.
They open the doors 15 minutes before the tour officially starts. No reservations needed. Admission is reasonable.
There is plenty of private parking.
The tour starts with a short video then your tour guide takes you on the house tour.
Our tour guide was really informative, had stories, and was funny. She kept the attention of my 17 and 20 year old sons.
I think George and Sarah would be proud of how well the house was being kept.
They also have a gift shop with cute souvenirs.
Eric Lowry
Omaha Ne has it's own Castle. The Joslyn Castle. 3 floors to explore and guided tours. Beautiful inside and the grounds are wonderful. See their website for times that they are open to the public.
Rachel Tolliver
It's old and beautiful. When we went there was construction. However, there are sooo many different types of bricks we wondered if some of the bricking might be differently aged than others. Additionally, the grounds are a great place for meditation. I would advise anyone to go there who just wants a nice place to walk around, even if your not on a budget.
Jessica Parker
Such a beautiful place and the guide was so informative and knew so much about the history of the castle. This place was such a great find and we loved it
Shelby Larsen
Didn't know what to expect when going, but we were very impressed. The castle itself is absolutely beautiful and very well preserved. Our tour guide was incredible - funny and honest. We definitely enjoyed it!
Alissa Troidl
Beautiful. Just stunning. The tour guide was so knowledgeable and did an awesome job. Looking forward to going back for an unlocked tour!
Tobbie Smith
Beautiful castle! I liked how after the tour, you could walk around by yourself.
Garrett
Stopped by to see the castle when I happened to be nearby when they were open for tours. The guides are very enthusiastic about the building and it’s history which makes for a great tour. Of course the structure itself is huge and impressive. A great way to learn a small bit of history and spend and hour or two.
Deb H (Professional 1984)
Very nice way to spend time with the family. Tour guide very friendly and knowledgeable.
Nicole Kitchen
Great tour and very knowledgeable guide. The home and its amazing woods were a sight to see. I wish there had been more furniture in the rooms but the black and white photos in most rooms gave one an idea of what the room once looked like. I felt a little rushed through it.
Chelsey
Beautiful castle and gardens.
Make sure to check at what times they do tours beforehand.
Amy Ludwig
Great history and so much beautiful architecture. A must see. Make reservation
kelli bello
Incredible piece of Omaha's history. NOTE: Public tours are available every Monday at 10:30am and 12:30pm, and the first and third Sunday of every month at 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. The hours listed on the Google page are for the administrative office, not tours.
Heather Crouse
Stunning craftsmanship and the home is in great shape considering it was used as office space for a time. Take a tour and you won’t be disappointed!
Angela Thompson
Was so excited to visit Joslyn Castle while visiting from Virginia! The tour was informative and the castle was beautiful. My 15 year old daughter was completely enthralled with it, asking so many questions if the tour guide, and he was so sweet!
Pam Hoffman
This is a beautiful castle. A must see! Go on the tour so you know the background of this historic home and the story of the family who lived here and how and what the interior and exterior are made from.
Cole Jarecke
Beautiful place in the heart of Omaha. Did not do the tour just walked the grounds. Spent about 15 minutes there.
Dillon
did a photoshoot for Halloween. my wife and some friends went as the sisters from hocus pocus. the grounds have been very well kept and maintained. and it doesnt cost anything if you just want to drive up and take a look. the entrance is on the south side more towards the east end. with it being fall and the color change of the leaves some of the photos turned out amazing.
Ginny McFarland
Stunningly designed castle with beautiful carved wood features, mosaic tiles, stained glass, hand painted murals on walls and ceilings. Lovely. So much to see. Beautiful conservatory and gardens.
Abby Ordoñez
Beautiful place. One of the best spots in Omaha NE. We were not able to tour the place, I believe you have to call ahead, but the surrounding area was nice. I would encourage everyone to visit during the fall time and to call ahead.
Wai Chan
Its a great place to take pictures and just walk around. The tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly. I personally went to one of the events. It was fun!
Magikarp Boy
Great outdoor gardens with plenty of huge trees. The castle is open for guided tours. The tour covers the history of the house and its former inhabitants. Its a long tour and very detailed and it ends with the top floor of the castle where you can walk around on your own and peruse the gift shop items for sale. I sure do hope they continue to restore the castle to its full former state.
Dustin Shropshire
My second time visiting. Went with my brother who lives out of state. He enjoyed it. It’s a small castle though. I didn’t like that people kept touching the walls and wallpaper though. We were told that the gold foil wallpaper in one of the rooms cost $90k to replace yet the guide and everyone else kept touching it. Good way to quickly ruin it again with our oils. It’s a cool place though and the history behind it is well researched.
SONGWRITER FOR TRUTH
I had my Band Promo Pictures taken there years ago.
STONE GROOVE
THERE USED TO BE A STONE GAZEBO THERE IT'S NOT THERE ANYMORE. I'M SEARCHING FAR AND WIDE FOR ONE VERY SPECIAL PICTURE. I HAD FOR YEARS A PICTURE THE PHOTOGRAPHER TOOK IN THE EMPTY GAZEBO AND WHEN THE PICTURE WAS DEVELOPED THERE'S AN ANGEL IN THE PICTURE AS CLEAR AS DAY 🌻. THE PHOTOGRAPHER LIVES IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY THESE DAYS AND I WILL EVENTUALLY GET IN TOUCH WITH HIM AND GET A COPY ONCE AGAIN OF THIS ANGELEC PICTURE.
Rocky
I was visiting from Florida and stumbled across this gem of Omaha. The grounds are beautiful and the castle is great for photo opps. Limited hours for inside tours. Check their website. Definite top 10 list item.
Stephanie Richmond
A beautiful old house, great tour and history!
xXGriffeyXx
A very beautiful area to just walk around and clear your head through the castles gardens and grounds.
Allan Horst
Took my daughter (my princess) to the only castle in Omaha. She is only 4 years old, but loved it. I enjoyed the detailed explanation of the rooms and the history. Spent about 1.5 hours and also enjoyed walking around the property and taking pictures! Kids 5and younger we're free when we visited.
Betzaida Roman
You don't have to pay to walk around. Took my 3 yo daughter and she loved it!!! She felt like a princess!!! She called it her castle!!!
Mel B
Very cute castle, unfortunately did not go when tours were Available
Alex Toll
Affordable tour with great tour guides. Nice that pictures are encouraged.
Amanda S
There's not much to do here if you don't go on the tour. Tours are the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm only. Tickets are $10 a person, which is a bit pricey but you get to walk around the entire house and the money goes towards preserving the property and such. The tour is really neat and you get a lot of information about the Joslyn's and how the house was built. I would definitely recommend coming to see the house all decorated for Christmas because it is absolutely beautiful the way they have it decorated. It's a neat property and interesting to learn more about the local history.
Tashia Dampier
Very informative tours & an amazing experience. I have 2 teenagers & they both loved seeing & hearing all about this place!
K. P.
This is a must-see in Omaha! The guided tours are wonderful. Help support the restoration of this historic place!
Kelly O'Dea
Our guide Victoria was excellent! You could really tell how passionate she is about the Joslyn Castle. Wish the people in my tour group would have been more considerate of Victoria and those of us who wanted to hear her.
Michael Booth
Great tour. Very informative. A true treasure of Omaha.
Jacob Kizer
Outside path was alright, and the construction looks very cool. I wish they would have more access to the inside rather than just a couple times a week on a tour.
frankie yang
Better to join the public tour to listen to the history of this great castle
John Weil
We went when the castle was closed. But we did walk around the property and it was absolutely gorgeous.
Justyna Mazurek
Great place, wonderful staff and beautiful gardens. Really worth to see, everything is taking good care of. I enjoyed it a lot.
Joseph Culbertson
I always wanted to visit this place.
Five stars for building anticipation.
I may never go.
But I'll always want to go.
JR Edgington
ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. Gardens were immaculate
Charles Corzine
A very nice historical site, the tour is well worth it and very informative.
Conni Mags
Great place to look at plants, pick acorns, take a sweetie, let yr dog chase squirrels, or be alone with some feelings.
I'm sure the inside is cool too.
Josephine Bahr
Five stars for architecture.
Three stars for lack of your time.
Four stars is the average 🙂 …
ash
very interesting history and beautiful gardens
Dan Betz
We got lucky and visited spur of the moment and found out we were just in time for a tour. They only offer them a few times a month on Sundays so plan ahead. The history was neat and the docents were very friendly.
Mark Zaricor
The tour of Joslyn Castle was a great educational experience. The tour guide we had was very knowledgeable of the castle's history and architecture. Definitely glad I went.
Rafael Flores
Make sure you don't confuse the office hours with the visitors hours. We arrived based on the office hours, just to find out we were late for the tour.
Angie Harrison
The castle is beautiful. The tour was very informative of the family who built and lived in the castle.
Todd Jelinski
Absolutely beautiful, grand, and stately from the outside. Would love to come back and tour the interior. Due to limited hours and our limited time in Omaha we were not able to tour the interior. The grounds are beautiful and it is nice to be able to walk the grounds any time. We will definitely work it into our schedule to visit the next time we are in Omaha.
Starr Kennedy
I love walking the grounds here. It is so quiet and peaceful. Always some new little detail to discover in the gardens.
Shannon Feldmeyer
Nice grounds. Pretty dead when we went. Parking was super easy. People walking around that worked there but didn't say anything to us to welcome us.
Rikki Desaire
Wonderful Guide, beautiful Castle...very enjoyable day❤
Amy Leslie
It really is a beautiful and ornate building. I highly recommend taking one of the tours so you can see the interior and learn a little about the family that built it.
Claudia Holguin
Beautiful the tour guides are super fun.
Susan Smith
Such a beautiful place to tour. The staff were very informative and the castle was stunning both inside and out.
Ashton Urbex
So beautiful would like to see inside
Michelle Quintero
Beautiful place! Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. If you like historical places I recommend Joslyn Castle.
Jaron Daake
Pretty cool place to go visit and the guides where very knowledgeable and answered any questions. Would and already have recommended friends/family to go visit.
Paul McLaughlin
We unfortunately got there on a day they were closed and they're only open for Limited hours which we did not know about beautiful building
Erik Braley
Huge, fun, and beautiful. The tour was very well done and the guide was very informative. Neat to learn about all the history
Darissa Dober
If you like old wood work this is a place you would love to see. Most beautiful place to have an event! And it's a great place to take pictures!
nick miller
The castle looks lovely. Our guide gave a thorough history of the rooms and grounds. Seeing the restorative process gave me a sense of grandeur.
Children and adults alike can enjoy this wonderful Omaha landmark.
juanita r.
What a great tour..... recommend everyone do this
Teri Farrar
Wow! What gorgeous history right here in our city. As a military child I had the privilege of living in England, visiting their historical places. I was so blessed I always wish to take my kids one day. Don't overlook this gem my 11 and 12 years old boys loved the tour!!
Rho M.
Website hours on Google are different than what's posted on the front door of the mansion. Two employees were working on the grounds so I asked them about it when I arrived and found the property closed. They said they knew that was a problem and would inform the office staff.
But now I see there are many other comments about tour hours being conflicted or sold out or told no appointment needed. If Joslyn Castle owners & employees do not start taking these reviews seriously, they are only going to continue receiving poor reviews and LOST REVENUE!!
Since I drove @one hour from my RV to see this castle, all I could do was walk around it and take a few exterior photos. The lawn crew was working that day and both young men actually moved out the way of my photos - they were the best!!
Tso “Chucky Cheese” Pigu
Very friendly place to play with glass art. The the class we attended was very good and very engaging for self creativity. The glass fusion class was probably better suited for older children. Nonetheless, they still did a good job.
Good environment and nice place. Worth the visit. Cost is reasonable too.
Jason Brockhouse
Wonderful tour. Was 2 hours long and very much worth the price of admission. Beautiful building with a wonderful history. Definitely recommend visiting.
Kristen Martin
Beautiful home, well cared for and the guide was wonderful at talking through the history while allowing us to look through the room. Really enjoyed this piece of Omaha history.
Sonam Pansari
Unfortunately the place was close due to covid-19 but we still wanted to take a look from outside. This is a gorgeous castle which I would love to visit someday. We had all the outdoors to ourselves as the place was closed and we enjoyed just admiring this beauty standing outside for about 15 minutes.
Cambria Rosales
Holy cow, what a beautiful building. The employees were wonderful. The castle was hosting a murder mystery party in honor of Nancy Drew, and it was a fabulous adventure! I can't wait to go back and enjoy more of these events.
LauraLee Vande Werken
I really appreciated the care that the people who conducted the tours had for the castle. Keith was very into telling us about the history of the building and the kinds of woods and features that it had. I was impressed by their loving care of the property and wanting it to be developed back to how it might have been in the time it was used as a home. I think it was a shame that a school district used it and made so many changes to such a beautiful structure.
Fay Lee
Even if you're not a history buff, I recommend you sign up for a tour! The tours are affordable; $10/person. This tour takes you through not just the history of the castle but also the architectural meanings and concepts. The tour guide Sherri Moore was incredibly smart on everything. She had a mind like a steel trap! She knew everything about the house from construction to school district HQ to what it currently stands as. No question got pass her! The outside grounds are open to the public for free 24/7 and are very photogenic. The castle also offers its self as a venue for parties and weddings. I plan on getting wedding photos done here in the coming months and I'll update this review with my photoshoot experience
Dietra Poitier
This is sucj a beautiful place. All of the restored wood and decorative painting takes you back to a time when real craftsmanship was the norm. I attended an event there, and the staff was very accommodating. The food was also good. This is a historical landmark, so tours are given regularly. I suggest checking it out. Also if you go to their website, there are free events that you can attend.
Silky Brenton
We love the castle. We had our wedding there 4th of July 2015!! We've gone and put bird houses up every year on our anniversary but it seems they've been removed now.. that made us a bit sad, but everything is just as beautiful as the year before. It's our favorite spot in Omaha!!
Rachel Evans
I ADORE Joslyn Castle!! We went to the ‘Joslyn Unlocked’ night and had a magical time. Between the incredible cocktail hour to delicious dinner we fell in love every part of the castle. The tour guides were so funny and knew every inch of the historical building. You learn so much about Omaha and all that the Joslyns did for this city. Can’t wait to go back for their next event soon!!!
A.
Beautiful and absolutely stunning!! Most definitely a must see!! Had an amazing time with family in Omaha, NE visiting from Boise, Idaho!! 💌 …
Evelyn Barker
I visited the castle on a trolley tour. I did not go inside.
Paul Warshauer
Historic mansion maintained VERY well. Great events, especially a recent murder mystery we saw there.
Peterson Palmer
One of the coolest places I've ever seen. First, a castle with open green space, diverse collection of trees and plants right in the middle of a urban neighborhood is really neat. Beautiful during the day, can be spooky at night. I grew up right down the street and have many good memories of both nice and naughty activities.
Ryan Foster
Lavish 1900s Mansion with lots of stories and fascinating innovations of the time to see. Ticket price for tours help support renovation to it's original glory.
Chalise Eyre
Beautiful architecture and grounds. The tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly.
Molly S
This is seriously one of the best places you could ever take a tour of. One of Omaha's gems, the Joslyn Castle is a thing of history and beauty, taking a tour here takes you into the amazing lives of the Joslyns and what great people they were and the huge part in they played in Omaha history. Whether you're attending a party or just taking a tour, you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Please. Everyone must go here!
Jan Elffner
Such rich historical information about it one of Omaha's finest!
Ingrid Weland
This is a beautiful castle in Omaha, built by the same family that donated significant money to the Joslyn Art Museum. It is a work in progress with the historical preservation society working room by room to bring it back to its glory. It's in an older part of town that has seen better days, but the Castly itself is cool to tour. I've been to the Castle on several occasions with school groups and enjoyed everything I learned about the history of the Castle.
Austin Grady
Very beautiful castle, highly recommend the tour
Joy Schaal
Everyone should go there it's a beautiful place
Ahmed M. Sabri M.D.
A breathtaking castle
Brandi Grove
Wow, a princess loves a castle!
Mindy Sue
Docents were very knowledgeable and friendly.
Amanda Mills
Well kept and beautiful for events (both inside and out), the Joslyn Castle is a wonderful location. Inside the main house is a maze of rooms that provides a lovely place for weddings, receptions, or other events. Better for small-mid-sized groups.
Detlef Kemnitz
The beauty of the castle is extraordinary. You have to see it to believe it. Raised in Omaha and had no idea it was around.
Jonathan Rader
Lovely building, and they work hard to keep it that way. Wonderful place for a short walk or to take your dog exploring. They also have awesome events like a masquerade ball!
Joshua Monroe
I toured this place for a possible wedding venue, so my experience is a bit different than the average person's world be. That said, I found the place to be gorgeous. It's definitely worth checking out if your in the area.
R W
The Joslyn Castle is absolutely beautiful to look upon. The family I have out in Nebraska never even knew it existed and now they are making it a priority to see it next time they are traveling in that direction. It is definitely a must see historic site for any one who lives in Nebraska or is just passing through .
Shirley Rodriguez
All. It's a beautiful place!
Joslynn Clark
This is such a beautiful place to visit. The history is so interesting and the tour guides know so much about the Joslyn Family. It was such a great experience for me to learn about my distant ancestors!
Gillian Berg
Strolling the grounds is a pleasure at any time of year. Their gardeners are the real deal!
Dean
Beautiful, impressive home.. Nice tour, very well-informed dedicated volunteer tour guide. Great historical story, very interesting.
Oscar Diego Carboni
Beautiful arquitecture.
Dan Wilkins
Neat place of history, only place like it in the area. Tour runs about an hour and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Easy access and plenty of free parking
Sarah V
Make sure you check tours before going, we got lucky and got there right as a tour was starting. Definitely enjoyed the day trip here.
Andre Hoyt
Amazing detail went into this gem of Omaha. Despite the grandeur of the castle, the Joslyn's impact on the community was part of the greater vision they had for the community.
Robin K
Loved this castle! I wish they sold copies of the pictures on the walls, from when the Jocelyns lived there.
Lisa Martin
Did'nt get to go inside. But I look in some windows and we walked around. The place was amazing! Can't wait to go back when the castle is open so we can go inside for a tour.
Jason Hausback
Looks like a nice place - I would have liked to have gone inside, but they only have a couple of tours a day and lock the door once they start, preventing anybody from joining late. That's a shame
brian muench
Very much worth seeing. I gave it one less star because one of the quides was very rude. An Asian couple seemed interested in the tour but apparently didn't know they needed to make a donation to attend. The guide instead of allowing them to listen in scolded them and ordered them to leave. In my mind she could have told them how important contributions are to maintaining the home and given them the opportunity to follow the tour and contribute after. It was obvious they didn't it was a paid tour. The same guide scolded an older gentleman that didn't hear her, he, being so enamored by the overwhelming nature of the woodwork had simply not heard her, instead of simply repeating herself she told him he needed to pay more attention (he had paid his entrance fee, I mentioned to him that there was no need to leave a tip, he snickered). I got the feeling as the guide pulled away from the parking lot in her fancy European car (BMW I believe) that here's a woman that's been given everything and this is her power Trip. Every one else was incredible, and in my opinion this is a destination station that shouldn't be avoided, there were several other guides, each was kind and respectful.
Kathy Schlecht
We arrived for our tour at 1:45 pm on Monday June 17th, according to the website, extra tours were being offered during the College World Series. However, the website had the wrong date listed! We were from out of town and the woman greeting us said we were mistaken and too late. Reluctantly & after some delay, she went to find Keith. This was our lucky day after all. Keith went out of his way, to give our group of 7 a wonderful informative tour! Keith was very accommodating, knowledgeable and very pleasant. So a special thank you to Keith, awesome job!
Brett Figueroa
beautiful peaceful area to enjoy the scenery, flowers and outdoors. But also a unique place well worth being monumental
Thomas Roemmich
Great landmark in the city of Omaha. We enjoyed the tour and learning the history of the Joslyn Castle. Well worth the price of admission.
Diana Morris
Great place to tour. Enjoyed learning about the history of the castle and viewing all the inside features of the Joslyn Castle.
Linda Taylor
Beautiful castle. Guided tours give a great overview of the family and architecture.
ATJeffk
Interesting tour. Tour guide obviously has a passion for her job and made it fun. Wish I could have seen the basement just to imagine what the man cave would have looked like.
Erika Powers
Very peaceful place.
Walked to at night....
Flowers, a lil bridge, an elevator to look at outside, and a little seating area to sit and relax at.
Love this place.
Rhonda Hoyle
Lesley, our tour guide, was great -very knowledgeable. We were so glad to fit this visit in. Interesting history and beautiful castle.
Lacey Randall
If you love history and old buildings, this is a place you need to check out! Beautiful grounds, beautiful preservation considering its history. Was wonderful to check out and learn about.
Chris Fenster
We attended a performance of selected readings by Edgar Allen Poe. The Castle is gorgeous-what a perfect setting for Poe's works !! I am fascinated by the history of this house, and plan to learn more about it !!
Rebecca Cohen
Beautiful historic mansion with a lot of beautiful restoration, and very knowledgeable, interesting, and cheerful volunteers and staff. A great way to spend an hour or two
Ragin' Cajun
There are always great events going on at the Joslyn Castle. During most events, they serve food and drinks... bring cash if you want more drinks than what are provided with your tickets. There are no ATMs onsight, and there aren't any within walking distance.
Ryan Kent
This is more of a Victorian house than a castle.
bob roose
Beautiful Historical site perfect for Classical Kids
Andrew Mildebrandt
Great tour! Really enjoyed seeing the historic mansion and explanation by the guide.
Ken Bartlett
My wife and I were going to attend a murder mystery dinner at the Joslyn Castle we live in Iowa and the Castle is in Omaha which is fine a few hours away . The day came for the dinner that started at 6 pm at 4 pm I received an e mail that it had been cancelled just two hours before the event we travelled from Iowa to Nebraska checked into a hotel and was in costume for this event now one would think that if due to weather related problemsthey could have cancelled this early in the day rather than let people drive knowing it was bad weather . I waited for an answer as to how they were going to handle refunds etc then received a letter stating they wanted us to donate the cost of the dinner etc as they were booked full for the rest of the year REALLY after I drove two hours and got a hotel I was in the hole already for two hundred dollars then after it was cancelled we needed to start thinking about something to eat as this was a dinner show as well now I was not upset about the cancellation just the very late e mIl and I am sure my wife and I are not the only ones who experienced this as they were booked for the night how many others did this happen to . The dinner was in January and just received refund !!!!! Wow never again will I attempt to attend a function at this so called castle !!! Yes I hope they read this review and maybe fix a problem that should have never happened in the first place but it just seemed like the folks running this place simply dont care w have been to numerous murder mysteries and this is the first problem I have had !!!! Thanks for letting me vent and I hope the other folks from that night write a review az well
Katie Landen
My daughter is 8 and really loved there was a castle right here in town ! It's such a beautiful place!
Kirk “Capt. Kirk”
I only got to visit the outside did not have money to go on the tour but the grounds were well kept it look like a great place I would definitely visit
derek Fiala
Haven't been inside but this place looks Amazing just from the outside 😍 ✨️ …
Matthew David
I love Joslyn Castle it's one of my favorite places in the world. I've visited 1000's of times; this time I didn't get out of my car and it's been the best visit so far
Chris Hoover
Great gardens around castle.
Angi Herrick
Joslyn yoga and kids event was awesome. Even in the rain. I gave it 4 stars because I was not able to hear the yoga teacher the entire time to know what to do.
Cali Carter

Interesting place to visit with the family, the best part is that you can closely admire everything there, you can even see how it was before and compare with today there are several original pieces, thanks to the person who gave us the tour, he managed to keep us connected with the real history you could imagine what it was like to live there they give details of everything from its construction to the service personnel. Really beautiful it seems that time stopped in there.
