Reviews of Museum of Osteology
This place was fantastic. When we knew we were going to be in OKC, this was our number one family destination choice and it didn't disappoint. All of our kids, from the four year old to the fifteen year old loved it and found things to grab their interest and attention. The displays are exceptional and well marked with descriptions. We spent about two hours and definitely didn't take it all in fully. Definitely recommend!!!
I took my 12 year old foster son here and would have gotten much more out of the experience had he been willing to take more time so we could read the accompanying information in each exhibit. The collection is amazing in its size and a lot of thought has been put into the design of each exhibit. I hope to return some day with my physical therapist wife who I know will want to spend hours digesting all the information presented.
We brought the kids here, and while they were excited they weren’t sure when we pulled into the parking lot. Don’t be fooled by the exterior or the setting in an industrial park — this is actually a great little museum! The displays are well done with lots of great information and comparisons, there are videos and interactive displays, and we all had a great time for about an hour or so. Nice gift shop too. I’d recommend it!
Had a fantastic time. Drove up from the Fort Worth area to have a walk around and it was definitely worth it. Awesome specimens and a great layout.
I would definitely visit again.
(Bring coins, they have multiple squished penny machines)
Decided to go with my wife and 3-year-old daughter and I was extremely surprised to see how child friendly and educational this place was! The gift shop was wonderful and all of the exhibits were great. There were tons of fun facts and interesting articles attached to every exhibit. We loved it! 10 out of 10
Wow what a wonderful place. They have all real skeletons from sea animals to land animals including humans. My kid was so amazed. Strongly recommend to visit this place when you are near OK city. Tickets are less than $15.
The warehouse is full of nothing but skeletons (human and animal). The bones have been collected from who knows where (some purchased, some donated). They have been reassembled (with minimal simulated parts) into anatomically complete displays, densely packed onto two floors. Sure, it sounds weird, but who wouldn’t be intrigued by looking under the hood of so many of the world’s creatures. It’s educational too. The museum is a private operation, not an academic one, but the scholarship seems legit. Thanks as well to the Skeleton Crew for the helpful followup to this review. They and their museum do a great job.
This place is so cool! They rotate their displays constantly - so there’s often something new to see! Only 10% of their collection can fit inside, so plenty more to see! Don’t miss the beetles on the way in! That’s how the bones are cleaned. It was super busy today because of spring break. They have a nice little gift shop with unique treasures of insects & other small animals (real!) like butterflies. 2nd floor accessed by stairs, but there’s also an elevator so it’s ADA accessible. Bathrooms were pretty clean, given how crowded it was! My two kids (ages 11 & 14) enjoyed checking out all of the interesting bones. They have a scavenger hunt to help peak the interest of younger kiddos & even adults! Most bones are real, with a small exception of rare replicas (marked by red buttons). Overall great place!
This place is incredible. There is so much to see. There was only a tiny collection of replica skulls & everything else was authentic. They’ve been using the same family of bugs to eat the flesh for their collection since the 80’s. I found it super interesting. The owner was there, interacting with people. It looks small from outside, but don’t let that fool you
I adore this place. They have made some additions since I was last here several years ago. The natural poses and educational displays are top notch. My dad didn't expect to like it and we ended up waiting for him to finish he was so fascinated.
Really wonderful museum!!! At first glance, it looks small, but once you enter, it is packed with all sorts of wonderful bones!! It was really interesting to walk around in. Best part is that almost all of the bones are 100% real! Truly fascinating, highly recommend.
This place was AMAZING!
We drove quite a distance to go and once there I was discouraged by the size of the outside of the building.
Once inside, it proved that you never judge a book by its cover!!!
There's so much to see, the owl pellet dissection class was so much fun and the staff is so kind and knowledgable!
We will definitely be back and will tell many about this place!
Took my three teens. Very interesting collection they have. It’s not as big as I thought it would be, but turns out it is big enough. There’s lots to see and a lot to learn. My only complaint is the gift shop prices. They were way too high. We had fun and this would be a great place to take younger children or anyone interested in science and bones.
Super cool place full of interesting facts! It's not a real huge museum but what they do have inside is interesting. I tried to only give you a few highlights! As not to spoil the experience for anyone. There is so much more to look at and learn about, just in inside and up the stairs. The guide was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable! My kids loved it! Definitely worth checking out if you're ever in the area!
What a unique museum! A must visit in OKC. A unique collection of skeletons of so many different species.
The displays and accompanying information is superb. Lots of great information - whether you are a kid or a curious adult.
And the gift shop has some really unique gifts too.
A wonderful place. The displays are absolutely world class. The entire layout is so well done it's amazing. Plan to take a good hour or more to really explore the place. There's tons to see both large and small animals. If you get the chance to go to one of the forensic nights DO IT! We had so much fun I could not recommend it more. The person who lead the night was so good, we learned a lot. We also did a behind the scenes tour of some of the items not out on display. Great place and worth the visit.
This is the ONLY osteology museum in North America! It's small, but such a cool place! They have skeletons of everything imaginable! I was surprised that there wasn't a wait and it was only $12.
It was so cool seeing all the primate skeletons in comparison to human skeletons.
There is also a small gift shop where you can purchase lots of rare skeleton oddities.
An amazing experience to be able to see all the skeletons, massive ones to very tiny ones. The tiny ones are impressive, for the detail it takes to put together those verses a larger skeleton is wild. The large ones are very impressive also, the whale is massive.
In all honesty, I went from really excited to disappointed and then just completely fell in love with the place.
The website really made this place impressive and the building, from the outside, makes it look uneventful.
But once you enter you are greeted by massive skulls and a display of live dermestids cleaning a skull.
Once you pay and enter you are welcomed into a two story display of every mammal, reptile, invertebrates, and facts. There is so much to see, touch, and learn about.
My 5yr old was wow'd and truly enjoyed that she could touch things. I enjoyed that all the facts and detail.
I highly recommend giving this place a visit.
Seriously interesting. Could have spent all day here. Many fun facts to learn. I love how it's a hands on museum as I'm a tactile learner. Very fun for both adults and kids!
This is such a wonderful museum! We visited from Arkansas and can’t wait to go back. Our kids haven’t stopped talking about it. I love that they make learning about bones fun for kids! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable.
Fantastic! We came up from TX to come see the museum and it was well worth it. Great pieces of all shapes, sizes, and origin. I couldn’t believe how small platypuses are! I never knew. Also has a fantastic gift shop and very nice staff.
My two children & myself spent about 2.5 hrs at the "Bone Museum". My youngest is 7 & my oldest is 16. There were lots of really neat stuff & information. Both of my children really enjoyed looking at & touching all the neat stuff they have. Majority of their collection is in cases, but some are not & you are able to touch. When we arrived we were greated by a young man who was just as friendly as he was polite. They really are very informative & eager to answer any & all questions you could have. We definitely enjoyed the afternoon & would recommend this place to anyone who is interested or just trying to find something to do!
Never knew a skeleton museum existed. Fascinating displays of every skeleton imaginable. The museum is well laid out and covers 2 floors. Really enjoyed our visit as we travel along historic Route 66.
This place is nice if you're already in the area. It was a lot smaller than what I'd imagined. My family and I were in and out in less than 40 minutes. Overall it was just okay. My 7 year old daughter enjoyed it alot so that made it worth it
Just… WOW! Everyone should see this place at some time in their life. All of the kids, from 2 to 16, were totally fascinated. We spent way too long wondering among the amazing exhibits. Looking at things that were just unimaginable. The story of the owner, and the process of how the museum came to be is really cool as well. Then to see how they do all this next door is… again, just wow. Totally a must see if your in the area, but just know it will take longer than you expected. An eye-opening, and mesmerizing afternoon.
Had never went and signed up to disect an owl pellet with epic, who my daughter attends school. Never been awesome place the man at the front counter I I get his name but he was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. Very happy we enjoyed this experience. The ladies in the class were very knowledgeable and helpful as well will def visit again when we have more time.
We came here on vacation and had no idea this museum was even here. What a great find! My boys are science enthusiasts and had such a great time! It is well worth taking time to see!
What a wonderful time in a museum full of bones! My sweet❤️ is deployed but we were able to video from opposite ends of the world so he was able to enjoy this with me over Memorial weekend 2022. We are both skull enthusiast! Thank you to the wonderful staff in helping me pick out the perfect skull for purchase!!! I will definitely be recommending this museum to family & friends!
The Museum of Osteology is fantastic! From the outside, the building seems small, but then you step inside and wow!! There is SO much to see and learn inside. The museum staff were all so nice and helpful. Upstairs is a nook for kids to explore, and there are also fun scavenger hunts that you can do.
I love it here. Incredible collection of vertebrates, awesome crocodilians, and some really unique medical abnormalities. Admittedly, wish they had some dinosaur fossils, but love making the trip! Also, skulls unlimited has some awesome pieces in the gift shop.
Fun little museum! Definitely something to do on a cold or rainy day, as its all indoors. They have activity sheets for all ages. Neat gift shop for some oddities you dont normally find in other places.
Tip: if you are a patron to the metropolitan library system, check out their experience passes for this location!!
Though small in size, this museum packs a lot inside! Hundreds of skeletons, skulls and bones from all kinds of animals. They have human skeletons all the way to bat skeletons. The exhibits are on two stories. Their gift shop had lots of cool things including real animal skulls and framed insects! A must see for science students of any age.
We had a ton of fun at this museum. There were a lot of things to see, and one of the workers told us almost every bone on display was cleaned in-house by their bugs. It was a very cool experience. They provide scavenger hunts for all different age groups as well!
If there was ever the need for an infinity stars button it would be for this spectacular museum. Worth every penny and then some. This museum is fantastic. They also offer some fun adult events, in addition to very thorough and thoughtful educational classes for homeschool students - I'm not positive if they offe conventional classroom field trips but, I would venture to say they do. They are passionate and informed to the marrow (see what I tried to do there, lol) about skeletons the collections on display are beyond impressive. because I didn't inquire however I would imagine a conventional school field trip here would be nothing short of an absolute must have in a teachers curriculum if anything relating to forensics, archeology, evolution, zoology, geography.. I mean I've been to the Smithsonian's several times and it's as if a small group of the smithsonian curaters was tired of big DC bustle and came to Oklahoma and put this tiny but mighty masterpiece together. The educational staff, both times my child and fellow homeschooler friend attended, were absolutely educator of the year material. The order, precision and effectiveness of the classes was seamless and just a huge success as far as I'm concerned. I would highly recommend anyone and especially educators to check into this absolute Gem. Anyone looking to support a worthy cause look no further, I implore you to check it out. The contribution to the community this resource provides makes me ashamed I had not looked and visited sooner. Why are you still reading and not buying tickets now ! Oh I forgot they have scavenger hunts you can do to help you see the amazing details you might otherwise miss during your awe inspiring visit. Thank you Skeleton Museum we absolutely love you!
Very interesting and informative. Place looks bigger on pics online, but it was worth the visit. I wished they had more hands on, live exhibits or a docent answering questions.
Great museum with a lot of cool bones to look at. Hopefully one day my bones will be on display here. Then you all can gaze at them so cool.
Visited on a Sunday, was not too busy. You're able to touch several of the skeletons on display, a unique thing you won't find elsewhere. It took about an hour-and-a-half to thoroughly go through the exhibits.
Always an excellent experience! Learn something new every time I visit and got to share it with my new hubby this time!
Also, love the accessibility of the bathrooms!
Super cool. They had just about any animal you could think of. Very kid friendly, you can touch just about anything that's out.
There are so many skeletons here and so much to learn. They have activities and worksheets available for all age groups. The gift shop is fun to shop and offers lots of toys and gifts for the sciencey people and of course Indiana Bones merch...and owl pellets--They sell owl pellets and even have a table set up to dissect on site. I seriously can't wait to come back to visit again!
This was a really neat experience. I highly recommend making the time to come visit.
Great skeletal posing and arrangement by the staff!
Groupon ticket purchase can save you some $$$$.
What an absolutely lovely surprise this was! It's not located where you would think a museum normally would be, nor does it look like very much from the outside, but wow! This place was so cool! My kids and I had a great time and it is definitely worth your time to check it out!
This is one of the best attractions OKC has. I used to take my son when he was a kid. Now I'm dragging adult friends there, and they are always amazed.
Everyone in the area should visit, and I 100% recommend it to all out-of-towners.
Super fun experience. Went with my skeleton obsessed brother. The place has so much to wee for the small size of the building. Definitely recommend! Also all the workers were very nice.
This place lived up to all of my hopes and dreams! I visited while driving from Indiana to Arizona and there was no wait and overall minimal people. There is a wide variety of common and uncommon animals and seeing so many bones in person was surreal. I took my time and spent about 2 hours here.
The museum was a great experience for my family and I. At first glance i thought it looked a bit smaller than i expected but it ended up taking almost 2 hours to go through it (we had 2 small children who enjoyed looking at the exhibits). I enjoyed that the staff prepared scavenger hunts for different age groups. The local library system has invested in experience passes and you can check out tickets to visit this exhibit for 2 adults and 2 children so cost was not an issue. Overall, i would recommend giving this attraction a visit.
Wow!
What an experience.
So many skeletons and so much information.
Kids-adult activities. Picked up a couple of souvenir coins. Gift shop full of super cool items.
Must go!
Highlights- whale skeletons, abnormal bone conditions
Great place for the whole family. We enjoyed Tobey introducing us to the history of the museum.
This place is INCREDIBLE! I enjoyed every moment of being here, I can’t believe I had never been here before! Highly highly recommend checking this place out!
Absolutely loved it! Super educational, the specimens are displayed so well and creatively. Some review said not worth your money for one hour, but I spent two hours and it was well worth my money! The gift shop was also fantastic, I got an owl pellet to dissect, and I’m excited for that. They have a variety of bones and skulls for purchase as well as books, fun stickers and things for the kiddos. I would love to stop again if I’m in OKC again (:
Went here with my friends who were visiting and we had a lot of fun looking at all the skeletons they have. The museum is not super huge but they really pack a lot of content into their exhibits and it wasn't busy or crowded while we were there. We had plenty of time to look at things and read whatever we wanted at our own pace
Small, but has some great displays and lots of different bones. Some hands on, treasure hunt is fun for kids of all ages.
We took our daughter and grandkids here and I was thoroughly impressed to have something this neat and fun for the kids so local. Had a great time
Fantastic place to visit, great information and spectacular displays. I'll be back, besides that I need to get some butterfly displays for my house from the gift store.
This place is soooo cool! Every skeleton you can imagine and some you have never heard of. Great experience for all ages.
Absolutely amazing. Don’t let the small outside fool you. I was urged by a few people to stop by on my way through the city and it definitely did not disappoint. Great staff and wonderful time
Very complete museum, amazing collection of bones from many different beings, from many different times
Don‘t miss the fetus and baby, it was shocking to see it in person
Big variaty of souvenirs in the gift shop
Kids will love it
Really awesome and fun place. The set up it's amazing. Very educational with a touch of humor. Just a lovely place in general!
It was such a fun place!! We really enjoyed walking around and seeing everything. Would highly recommend!
Before entering the building my expectations were low. You look at the building and think this should take 20 minutes. Boy was I wrong, so many skeletal remains with details about many of the specimens. A very neat museum that should be on your list if you’re in the OKC area.
Quite honestly the coolest museum I have ever been to. I was fascinated from start to finish! I loved that they had scavenger hunts for multiple age ranges and my kids loved being able to test their ability to identify animal skulls. A really fun experience for us all!
Really cool place! We pulled up and we’re surprised how small the building was. Then even more shocked with how big it was on the inside. It was really cool seeing all the different exotic skeletons. I appreciate the way they had each case set up with the same type of animal. The front desk lady told us that only 2% of the skeletons were replicas. I would have to say this place is a bit expensive for the size $24 for 2 adults. If you’re ever in the market for some great priced oddities their gift shop is the place to go!
A one of kind experience exploring all sorts of skeletons. Likely you will be able to take in all the skeletons in about an hour or so. The gift shop has a wonderful selection of unique replicas and one of kind souvenirs. The staff members were friendly and knowledgeable. The displays were clean and well light to explore the many skeletons. Also, the displays that allowed you touch the skeletons definitely won over the hearts of the younger members of the group. They even had a small exploration area for children to have more up close experiences with skulls.
Had my son's 9th birthday party here. It was great! Kids and adults both loved it! Ages 6-88. The kids called it an awesome day. I would definitely call that a win!
It looked small, but there were so many things to look at inside! Very fun! Staff was friendly
Have attended two events here (Forensic Night and a concert) and think it is just such a unique spot! They do an absolutely fantastic job with planning cool events obviously, but the collection itself is well displayed, just the right amount of educational, and very entertaining-even for adults. They also have a cool gift shop with unique items. And the staff is extremely friendly just to add to the experience. Well worth a visit at least once, but keep an eye on the events they host too!
Attended the Halloween night event here and it was a good time. My only complaint would be... More games and more candy.
A few games that you could add for next year, pin the tail on the skeleton, beer pong minus the beer. The prizes were great and our kids had a great time. The bouncy house outside was the cherry on top, great idea 💡❤️
Loved seeing all the different skeletons and learning about different animals too. The other bonus, every single employee that I spoke with was VERY helpful and kind.
Thank you Museum of Osteology! We would definitely recommend.
This was my third trip. I found it killing time on a business trip. Brought my adult kids back and then my nephew.
It really is amazing the number of skeletons on display. They are so well displayed.
This is appropriate for all ages. I thought it might be a little creepy but it’s not at all.
An amazing experience to say the least!!! A friendly staff with an enormous variety of species and great descriptions. A fantastic surprise with the gift shop as it had an insect display for buy!
Went here with my family and it was fun and interesting looking at the exhibit. My kids enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend it.
so interesting... fun to read all the info on the displays. good hands on activities for kids and.... honestly, the BEST museum gift shop I've ever experienced. it was a good as the museum itself!
Such a awesome place!! I recommend checking this place out for sure. A little pricey on entrance tickets. But I’d say it’s worth it. My kids loved looking at all the bones. And reading all the information. Very cool place!
Wow. That's all I can say about this place, just truly amazing. Go check it out!
I was really expecting this place to creep me out but it's so interesting!! They show you how they clean the bones and explain we're they get them. Great for all ages!
Pretty awesome place. Very educational. NeetO place to see bones of different animals and such. Make sure you have a good two hours or more to look around. So much to take in and look at everything. Dont forget to get you a Souvenir
I took my son and my nephew (his cousin) to this today! My son and I have been talking about it for 2 years now to try to make it back down to Oklahoma City to check this out. I was really surprised with the amount of different skeletons and animals that are inside the building. There is a lot of information and I enjoyed the slight humorous moments that the staff had put throughout the exhibits (like labeling the mouse "lunch" in the cat exhibit)
I felt like you could really tell that the people that take care of it really cares and tries to display (as much as they can) the animals in their most natural stances.
We all really enjoyed it!
The Museum of Osteology is a definite must-see! The ticket price was very affordable - about $11 - to see every imaginable kind of skeleton, from skulls with delicately preserved hydrocephaly symptoms to the humpback whale that seems to be the crown jewel of the collection. Despite its seemingly small exterior size, the Museum of Osteology is huge - a two-story open room with exceedingly clean and professional displays that manages to capture all the grandeur of the Field Museum in a nondescript suburb of the Oklahoma City area. The staff were expert and very helpful, providing tons of extra detail on the museum itself. If you're anywhere near Oklahoma City, you absolutely need to have this museum on your itinerary.
This museum is SO cool! Definitely a learning experience for ALL ages. So many skeletons off all species, of good and bad health. I really enjoyed watching the past shows the owner has been on, while sharing his unique passion. Very neat. Must see!!!
This place is just incredible. There is so much to see. It's a great place to bring kids, as the exhibits are fun and educational. I was so pleased to learn that the nice young man who sold me a hippo's tooth at Skulls Unlimited 30 years ago achieved his dream of creating this museum of bones. This is a great contribution, and another thing that makes OKC such a great place to live!
This place was so cool. Lots of good bones from humans to animals that I never seen before. It was fun to read and learn about and they had a really cool gift shop where you can buy bones to bring home!
It was a lot of fun! The exhibits were amazing. All of the bones blew my mind. It is a deceptively small building. He museum is very big on the inside!
Really awesome! Came with my girlfriend and we had a great time! Staff was very polite and enthusiastic. I loved that! Lady even recognized my zip code and asked if I was military! I appreciate that.
Two floors with PLENTY to see and read about! I loved the different exhibits. From marine life to mammals. From domesticated to wild life. I also really appreciated the fun they had setting up the bones!
Souvenir shop is great. Has everything you would expect. Shirts, teeth, bracelets, science experiments!
This was one of the best museums I have ever been to! There is so much education and so many interesting things! I recommend this to anyone!!!!
Went with a friend who highly recommended it. It was both very fascinating and educational. The passion the employees have for their work is extremely noticeable and the gift shop is great!
Took our grandsons while they were on Spring break and had a wonderful time. Our oldest grandson got the owl pellets to explore and had a great time learning what it ate. Our youngest is only 2 but he still enjoyed looking at the bones. My husband and I will definitely be back to read a little more about some of the displays. The museum is well organized, very clean and they practice great Covid restrictions. Would really recommend to adults and children alike.
First time there. What an eye opener. We don't come from apes like Darwin says. Look at the skull wall that dates back to 35,000+ years ago. The skull looks nothing like the ape skul collection. Will be back to read all the tags in the museum. Wonderful displays.
Amazing! Courteous and informative employees. A must see!
Awesome collection of skulls and skeletons. Educational and fun for the whole family. The gift shop even has a lot of reasonably priced specimens. The staff was super friendly. Masks were required and they keep the place very clean. Very glad we chose this museum!
Don't let the outside of the building fool you into thinking this place has nothing. This place is very unique and a great place to visit. I recommend this place for everyone to atleast visit atleast once. It is family owned and operated and it's a place that makes you want to go out and dig for bones !!
One of the best museums in the area. 100% worth the trip out there. You can get through it in an hour or really take your time with all of the activities and interactives.
Cons: The gibbon is in the wrong place
We used an experience kit from the library in Norman and got in free. We had a lot of fun, but beware the crocodile, he's hungry!
Super cool, hands on museum! The part we loved was that are all real bones and they explained the cleaning process. Definitely a great one for kids and adults.
The absolute highlight of our trip to Oklahoma City was this museum. So very well thought out! Everything labeled adequately, the place was spotless and the displays were absolutely gorgeous. I can’t wait to visit again and spend more time learning about the skulls and skeletons on display. Definitely worth visiting!
No bones about it, this place is great! If you're interested in skeletons, or nature, or how creatures work, or comparative anatomy, this little museum has a ton of meat for you to chew on. My personal favorites were the whale skeleton, and learning about the special little rings that birds have in their skulls for holding their eyeballs.
Awesome place, so informative, attraction is not just for small kids, big kids will love this also!!!! Beginning to end of the museum was fantastic.
This was such an AWESOME experience, 5 stars just isn't enough! There is every type of bone/skeleton you could think of, AND you even get to see bugs cleaning bones/skulls! Lots of interesting facts, and hands on activities for kids and adults to do. Spent about 2 hours soaking it all in, Thanks!
I was under the impression there would be dinosaur bones due to the fact that fossils are on all the signs. My 4 year old was super disappointed. I would have loved to look more, since the collection is extensive and super cool. The complete lack of dinosaur bones was a deal breaker for him though.
Saw this place online and decided to take a surprise mini day vacation to OK to check it out. Driving to it we were a little confused as it wasn’t in a major part of town and the building itself is pretty plain on the outside, but it was definitely awesome inside. So many amazing things to see and facts to learn. The staff was very friendly also. The gift shop was great as well, not overpriced and unique choices. My husband can’t wait to go back and get a bigger item to bring home. We will go again for sure!
This is the BEST museum in Oklahoma City - no bones about it!
It was an awesome place if you love science and nature. The adventure starts from the ticket counter itself. A must visit place and kids will enjoy it too and it's more fun for them as well. Lots of skulls and the timeline for them. You can also see the live preparation of the skull by beetles over there. In short a must visit place
This is a fantastic place to visit. You will spend about 1-2 hours looking through the exhibits, and we'll worth the time. This is not a kid only museum; adults will learn just as much! The museum is only one room, but a wide variety of skeletal displays to explore. A must if in the Oklahoma City or Norman area of Oklahoma!!!
The entire family had a great time here. We spent about an hour and a half and got to see everything. The museum is setup well and everything is showcased nicely. They even had activities like coloring, scavenger hunts and touch tables to aid in the overall experience.
Super awesome, my gf brought it up and wanted to go during our vacation and I thought it would be kinda lame, but it surprised me with how cool it is. The building is small and pretty out-of-the-way of downtown, but it's definitely worth it. The posing is especially impressive, I'm into plastic models and those are hard enough to pose, these guys are putting real bones in dynamic poses and they all look fantastic. Gift shop is awesome, I would have bought a ton of stuff if I had more display space at home [refer back to said plastic models]
The best part is that they were playing friggin Final Fantasy 7 and Link to the Past music over the speakers, which is surprisingly fitting. Sick monky skeleton even more rad accompanied by ominous Shinra theme. I'll definitely be returning, excited to see future exhibits!
The museum was very informative, educational, and had quite a large quantity of specimens. The bones are well preserved and well taken care of. There are two floors worth of displays, but have a lot of information on each display. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I would love to go back. The staff was also very kind and stayed open a few minutes past closing time in order for us to look through the gift shop as well.
This place is fascinating. We didn't bring any kids, but we're sure they'd enjoy it. The displays are very well done.
This place is amazing!! We had so much fun looking at all the Skeletons! They seem to have a little bit of everything. It's not a huge place. It's perfect for killing a couple of hours with the family. We only spent about two hours and that was with us looking at everything and going to the gift shop.
Had fun! Stayed about an hour or so. Scavenger hunts for adults & kids. Gift 🎁 store & coin 🪙 machines there if you're a collector.
What an amazing hole in the wall!!! You find it tucked away in the back of some industrial park. I took my 2 teens, and we were there for 2 hours! So much to look at and so much info!! The receptionist was knowledgeable and sweet! We will def be going back!
This place was very interesting and informative.
Amazing history, kind and helpful staff, fantastic amount of love and care for a private museum. Some minor typos in a few exhibit labels, but otherwise a great place to take fans of natural history and bones!
We love this place! My son is 6 years old. We have attended the Halloween Party here for the last 2 years. They have such an incredible collection of skeletons, and the displays are stunning. We will return again and again, and we look forward to attending more educational programs here! If you get the chance to do something hands on, like dissecting an owl pellet, take it! Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Very cool and informative. Loved seeing the morphological differences in the different dog skull’s, but the hippo skeleton was probably my favorite. Definitely a place to check out of you are in to science or have kids.
Great place! Will definitely be back.
What an amazing museum! I'm so grateful I was able to stop here on my coast to coast drive, the visit was one of the highlights of my trip.
This museum was intriguing!! I have never seen anything like it! It was fun and educational. 8 dollars per adult to see 2 stories of skeletons! Humans, dogs, cats, birds, rhinos, whales, etc from all across the world! They will even let you go to the back storage room and see even more. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this museum to anyone that finds this interesting. Oh, and you can buy real human and other animal skulls/skeletons!
When you first walk in you’re greeted by a nice lady with a smile. She take your admission ($10) and goes over real quick about the museum.
Upon entering you’ll see tons of skulls and skeletons. The museum is super clean and doesn’t have a smell at all. There are tons of facts with all the skeletons which I found very nice. Could spend a long time inside reading and looking at things. They encourage touching of the bones you can reach. When you exit they have a nice gift shop with reasonably priced items.
I would recommend this as a nice visit when you’re in town.
Super great and family friendly place to visit!! We were passing through OKC and it was the perfect place to get out and stretch our legs, let the kids roam around, and learn some new things! The staff is super friendly and welcoming, exhibits are very well displayed and kept clean and very presentable. Bring 50 cents and a shiny penny to squish as a fun souvenir!
Amazing collection and extremely well curated
I adore this place! I’ve been twice now and am fascinated with their displays. The museum seems deceptively snail, but I actually had a hard time getting through it in one day as each exhibit had so much to look at. They added a new display between my visits that had the skull of the first monkey in space and information on how time in space affects the skeleton. I couldn’t stop taking about it to my friends for about a month.
Of particular note, there were a few skeletons on the ground floor of the museum with signs saying you could touch them, which was a very cool experience.
I took my boyfriend (who is an armature art student) on my last trip, and he spent most of it sketching the skeletons. He found a lot of inspiration in everything he saw.
I highly recommend this place, especially for anyone who likes science shows!
This place is a must see if you are ever in the area. The exhibits are amazing and well displayed. My husband and I had a great time looking at all the many skeletons
Very well put together displays. Extremely interesting for a budding anthropologist!
Edit: The budding anthropologist was able to attend "Forensic Night", she had a complete blast, and I think she'll be talking about it for months! Thank you!!!
It is very small. There are some really cool skeletal displays and, it's 2 story. Definitely wouldn't be a while day activity. Maybe 30-45min max
On my recent trip to OKC I stopped by several museums (museums are my thing). I made a point to stop by the Museum of Osteology and I’m really glad i did. Pretty much any critter you could imagine was in the collection and they were articulated amazingly. The kids that were visiting had a blast and you could do a scavenger hunt as well. I recommend a trip.
Overall, it's a beautifully curated, private, collection.
I do want to note that this is a private collection and not an academic one. There are several inaccuracies that I noted during my visit, but most of the specimens are neatly labeled and the accompanying placards have good information.
With it being a private collection, very few of the origins of the specimens are noted on the exhibits, and the ethicality of them is ambiguous at best.
There are several artefacts from indigenous cultures across the world that should be better documented, as well as the real human remains. These are very delicate subjects in the vulture-culture community, and as such a prominent collector, the curator of this museum should be doing his part to operate as ethically and humanely as possible. That includes publicly documenting how human remains came into the collection and whether or not they were obtained with consent from the individual's families.
Aside from that, the museum was very well organized, in a way that encouraged curiosity and exploration from its visitors. We will most likely visit again
This is the first time we visited the museum after moving to OKC in two years. Although it is not as big as we imagined, it is a good place for children to learn some knowledge.
A wide variety of skeletons from animals to human. All beautifully articulated in poses that you can imagine the animals doing in real life. It looks small on the outside but it's actually got a lot inside. It's also 2 floors.
Staff always are willing to answer questions or at least try to find someone who knows the answer if they don't know it themselves.
Gift shop has a lot of cute things for all ages but the skulls for sale are probably the coolest.
Very intriguing! My family had a blast looking at all the different species and educational facts about them. I was impressed of bone placement and organization groups. Staff was absolutely knowledgeable and kind. Ticket prices were reasonably cheap.
Such a cool place to visit!! I want to come back and see everything again. Was here for 2 hours and still could have been here longer!!
What a fun place to visit! If I lived in OKC I would take the grandkids at least once a month. I was fascinated by the display of beetles cleaning a couple of skulls. There are hundreds of bones and skeletons arranged by type as well as area of origin. Most are the real thing, with well-identified reproductions of ancient relics. From bats to hippos to whales and turtles, you can find finely articulated specimens here. There is a senior discount so be sure to ask for it if you are 62+
I had a great time at this museum! The gift shop is also really nice!
Had a great time seeing all different skeletons and bones. Well worth a stop.
As I was exiting through the giftshop, the owner and founder Jay was present. Its nice to see him actively involved in the museum.
LAME & BORING! ...is what I was thinking when my wife wanted to take a trip with my son and I to the MOO as I affectionately call it.
I was blown away. It’s a definite small footprint. However, what it likes in square footage it more than makes up for in content. The museum is expertly curated and attentively run by a small group of engaged staff.
The arrangement of the exhibits is thoughtful, artistic, and visually appealing. The content provided within each display is just plain interesting. I found myself actually, like, reading the content. It is SUPER INTERESTING. I honestly didn’t want to leave.
If you have kids this museum does a focused job of engaging their young minds. We took our 5 year old and he was excited throughout. They offer age appropriate, self guided, scavenger hunts. We had a blast finding all the different animals.
They also sell owl pellets for a very small fee and provide space, on the museum floor, to dissect. The museum has a gift shop with a wide variety of options. Many options sub $10 so your kiddo can take home a little something. We just took home the bones he found in his owl pellet in the provided bag.
I can’t believe I’m saying this. I’ll be back to the MOO for sure.
Great place to learn more about the creatures and see their skeletal remains. Very nice staff and a pretty cool spot to check off your list of places to see around the area.
Wow! Fantastic full skeleton museum with representatives of many of the world's vertebrate species, large and small. An hour visit is too quick!
Absolutely amazing everytime we go! Exhibits change periodically, but they always have great information on everything! They also have a cute kids section with hands on items.
We love visiting!
A very well done museum that provides a great educational experience in biology, zoology and anatomy. Considering how many species of vertebrates there are in the world, i believe the museum could grow to be more than 10 times the size.
It's a cool little place lots of Skelton of different animals and reptiles and mammals etc. Great gift shop also the staff was very friendly will definitely be going back and bringing a few new friends with us.
Fun little museum full of bones! They have skeletons of every kind of animal you can think of. It was smaller than I imagined and didn't take us long to get through. Staff is very friendly.
It's a fun experience for adults. Not the greatest for toddlers. Very interesting
Great museum. We saw amazing stuff and learned a lot. My granddaughter loved it.
I absolutely loved it. My daughter is into animal crossing and I thought this exhibit looked exactly like the game she plays. She was excited when the doors open. I was amazed by the bones. I will come back in the future. I was here for an hr or so. Enjoying seeing the bones and seeing what animal it was from. Amazed to see the claws and tooth.
Looks a small place outside but it’s so packed inside! Check out the skeleton for more than 100 species here. It’s so eye opening and informative. This will be my no.1 place to recommend in OKC.
I've been a couple times and it's very interesting. It's just the right size for you to get through the whole museum in a couple of hours, making it perfect for an afternoon when you want to squeeze in a date but don't have all day to spend on it. Some of the animals have stories included about their lives and how they died, which I appreciated. There are some skeletons you can even touch! There are lots of cool things to take pictures of and photo opportunities for interesting selfies. $10/adult seems like a fair price. I would go again!
The Museum of Osteology is so neat. I highly recommend you visit. The staff is so kind. They have a restroom available and a really cool gift store.
Amazing. Simultaneously clean, professional, but also full of childlike glee & wonder at the subject. The place is a labor of love and it shows.
They show off their dermestid beetle colony right up front. They've even got a little case where the owner shows the first dog skull he ever cleaned as a kid, and his grade school science fair award for showing off his young bone collection. Geeky selfies on display w/ Mythbusters, Mike Rowe, etc.
A heads up if you're sensitive to loud ambient noise, or if you dislike kids: bring earplugs 😂 One loud kid here sounds like 100.
This was cool. I enjoyed seeing all the different bones from animals to people. A lot of neat stuff there to explore, great for kids. My daughter enjoyed it as well.
This place is Amazing. There is so much to look at. It's a fun educational museum kids will love. There's even a scavenger hunt form they can fill out to stay engaged.
Wonderful museum. We all had a good time. Would visit again.
This is a great place for kids and adults alike. The museum appears somewhat small from the outside, but it is packed full of awesome skeletal exhibits. Great place to take you kids for entertainment and education.
What a phenomenal preservation exhibit!!! Very informational, extremely well kept and clean. Very knowledgeable staff and they’re all so kind. I loved it here and will be taking out of town family back for certain! Lots of fun for the kids as well, interactive exhibits and scavenger hunts (with a treasure at the end) make it family friendly (and also science nerd friendly, too!). All of their bones are cleaned right next door and this is one of (if not) the largest private collection in the US. Loved every second of it. Gift shop next door has a ton of cool bones for sale, Knick knacks and shirts. Also has preserved bugs for those who like creepy crawlers. I am a major fan and I will be back!
We went during Spring Break, so it was packed. Super interesting though, because... SCIENCE!!
Such a great experience, I thought I was for sure lost while driving there because the building looked too small to house that many skeletons but looks are deceiving, such a cool learning experience definitely nothing like it anywhere
The experience was amazing. So much info on all the different animals and the evolution chain is insane when you're checking out the skull heads. The little activities that you can do while you're there makes it a little unique. I really enjoyed my time there
Really cool museum! Affordable too.
Very interesting stuff 2 story building and a ♿️ assesable lift so you can reach the 2nd floor and enjoy your time, they also have a little gift shop with numerous interesting stuff for kids, toddler's,and adults.
We really enjoyed this place. Very interesting and educational. They had such a large collection of skeletons, impressive!
This place was AWESOME! I loved seeing just what makes up all of the things that we share our planet with! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 …
This museum is VERY interesting! We drove from Texas to visit this place and it did not disappoint!!! They have all types of bones to look at, it’s pretty cool!
This is an amazing place. It had so many different animals arranged very orderly. I found that it put quite a bit of high school biology into perspective like why birds have that long crest in their rib cage without beating you over the head with educational material.
There is also a sense of playfulness when they put some of the prey next to the predators.
Quite a few skeletons to see from the tiny to large. A quirky little museum and the lady staffing the desk was very nice to us. Thank you!
Over 350 real animal skeletons! It was pretty cool to see for sure. It's the largest privately held collection of osteological specimens in the world! And it's the first of it's kind in America!
As bone & fossil collectors we loved it! Spent nearly 3 hours here & enjoyed every minute!
Not very big, ♿, great if you are interested in skeletal remains, kids will enjoy the large mammal and reptile bo
Hands down one of the coolest museums I've ever been (and I really like museums). Almost all of the skeletons are authentic, and all of them are ethically sourced.
The building may seem small on the outside, but it is absolutely packed with things to see and learn, so be sure to budget a good chunk of time to explore everything.
Super awesome place ! They have a cross word puzzle you can solve along while reading about the info from all the skeletons if you’re a nerd like me lol !
Wow, this place is GREAT. I could spend hours here. And they have smashed penny machines for fun souvenirs.
Very interesting space! a lot of exhibits that caused mixed feelings, but I really liked everything, the atmosphere is great!
If you are an animal enthusiast then this is the place for you! They have so many cool exhibit here.
The museum is awesome. So many skulls and information. They have a huge whale skull in the lobby, and an AMAZING gift shop. Sometimss I just go to the gift shop to buy room decorations.
Nice staff, cool and informative displays and a nifty gift shop with a lot of interesting stuff to add to a collection.
Small nice museum! Mostly for kids, but I found this interesting for me as well. A lot of skeletons which you didn't even imagine how they look like. I think at least once better to go.
What a wonderful museum to visit! My wife and I brought our son and he loved seeing all the skeletons. The exhibits were wonderfully organized and had lots of information. The building has two floors so you definitely get plenty to view and take in. They have some activities for children such as coloring sheets and scavenger hunts. Most everything is hands-on unless behind a glass case and there is a gift shop for souvenirs.
All the employees were awesome, learned a lot. Got to touch some bones and their gift shop is full of cool item. I would go again in the near future
This place is wonderfully educational. They have activity sheets for people of all ages that are fun to do. A perfect place for a group of or individual homeschoolers.
They pack a lot of punch for such a small building . We were so impressed with the amount of displays they have and how organized they were . We really enjoyed it and highly recommend if you are in the area.
Amazing. Professionally assembled displays of a huge variety of modern and ancient animal bones. Two floors of beautiful educational wonders. Great gift shop and a small learning activity center upstairs.
Cost effective admission, two floors of specimens to admire. Elevator included.
Very interesting and the kids loved it!
Went here on a date with my lover boy and we had an absolute blast learning and touching all the bones :)
This was such an amazing place! We loved it so much and had a blast! The staff was extremly freindly.
Best museum I've ever gone to.
It's a somewhat small building, fitting everything in one room with a first and second floor filled with bones and interesting facts. I enjoyed not having to walk all over like other museums. It's a family friendly place and everything inside is super fascinating. I'd love to go again.
Very different type of museum I’ve ever been to, definitely worth checking out!
The building was unassuming outside but inside it was jam packed with interesting skeletons. Such a cool place
Great place to learn about bones. Skeletons in your closet? You can probably hide them here and no one will notice!
I always love coming here. It changes up and I always learn something new. The staff is so nice and helpful!
Very good experience. The museum has mostly real skeletons with explanations and plenty of examples! Great gift shop too, able to purchase skulls of many different animals.
Took us (my husband and me) just under 2 hours to see all the displays and read most of the posted info. Also lingered in the gift shop and pet the resident cat (Sir Indiana Bones). Glad we went to see the place. Learned some things. Had some fun. Have already recommended it to friends.
Had a blast and learned so much!!!
Great guy who sold tickets and worked gift shop was so knowledgeable and friendly!! Amazing collection of specimens!
Great place the staff is super nice and the set up with all the skeletons is amazing will for sure come back again
My 7, 5, and 2 year old loved this place. As we first arrived I was skeptical because of how small the building was, but they made great use of the space. The whole experience was very educational at a decent price.
Was smaller than I thought it would be. Bit very interactive and very interesting. They even have scavenger hunts for the kids.
Such an amazing experience would definitely recommend to others and will definitely make another trip back
This was one of the highlights of our "museum vacation tour" this year. The museum is very well planned out and has some of the best displays of skeletons (human and animal) I've ever seen. Very educational and informative with a bit of subtle humor placed here and there. We also found it fascinating learning about the process used to clean the bones and prepare presentation and educational level skeletons. Also, learning about the founder's (Jay Villemarette) story and how the business and museum came to be was enlightening. We HIGHLY recommend visiting this museum.
Friendly, helpful staff. Fair prices. Fun and educational family activity. Just though it would be a bit bigger.
We weren't sure about the location, but when we got inside we where very impressed! Worth the drive!
I highly recommend it! You can see and learn so much!
Seemed a bit small when I pulled up, but the inside is well organized and jam packed with hundreds of displays and info on everything you see. I spent 1.5 hours browsing around and didn't even read and interact with all they have to offer. Lots of cool items to buy in the gift shop as well. Absolutely recommend checking this place out, so glad I made the trip. If you play PokémonGO, there is a gym, stop, and plenty of spawns.
Very educational. Great for kids and adults. For the most part it's even toddler-proofed which is necessary for a lot of homeschooling families. We go here every time we visit OKC and love it. There are so many unique skeletons and even taxidermy. We did scavenger hunts this time which was great fun for all of us.
First off the place is actually pretty interesting it has a lot to look at for the size of the building that it is. My kids had a good time looking at all the creatures and playing with the bones however the major complaint that I have here is that it is way overpriced and there's about an hour or twos worth of visit here at Max.
Love the palace....you get to learn how it started...the process and a story from almost every bone collected....i enjoy it as my fiance did.
Very interesting place, friendly staff. Fun environment overall
It is was So much fun. I love how big the eyes of the kids got when they saw the skeleton of a human. The gift shop had so many fun little things. It was great.
Impressive display. Was also amused by some of the posing like the raccoon digging in a box of Milkduds. This place is obviously managed by people who care about their work.
Great place for families who love to learn! I take my kids when I can. I LOVE the gift shop! I buy items for Xmas gifts!
One of OKC's hidden gems. An absolute must see for anyone interested in natural science. Displays are well done and the documentation is interesting for both kids and adults. Where else can you see both one of the smallest mammals and a whale? And for only $12! Had a great time and highly recommend making the trip.
Wonderful place to visit! Spent almost 2 hours there. Well thought out displays. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
This place was amazing! So much to learn and so much to see! They even have little scavenger hunts for all ages to enhance your visit. Definitely a must visit while in Oklahoma City.
This was a blast! I visited SKELETONS as a gift from my mother for my birthday, and as a person who is super interested in bones, I found it highly entertaining and educational.
Fascinating museum that includes skeletons from a wide range of creatures and a few stuffed animals so you can picture the entire animal. Some interesting displays showing comparative anatomy between humans, seals, birds, etc. There are whales, giraffes and elephants at the large end all the way down to bats and mice and the small end of the scale. And yes, the skeletons are real!
Loved visiting here. It is smaller in terms of "museums" but full to the brim. My younger kiddo had a tiny struggle focusing but they have these little scavenger hunts which made it easier. Super neat, loved reading all the facts. Staff was very pleasant.
This place was so cool! Definitely going to be a stop anytime we're in OKC
Great place to take the little ones. Not very big but worth a look.
We attended the forensic class. It was fun and very informative. The whole museum was quite interesting, clean and well laid out. It was a bit pricey. There's no tour guide so it's self paced. We would go again. Location right off a main road.
Interesting museum! I took my granddaughter and husband. I recommend this museum for any age person. My husband uses a wheelchair and it was a bit difficult to maneuver in, but I understand why, the amount of material to be displayed for a building this size is huge. We bought our tickets online for a discount, however I did not see issues for people purchasing at the door.
The place was something that I really enjoyed my time on Oklahoma. Would definitely make this a place you have to visit. The pieces that they had were amazing and the whale they had in the center was a big show stopper.
This is a very cool place to visit! It's not as big as some museums, but definitely worth a visit. This was our second time. Lots of cool exhibits, informative, and has some hands on things for kids as well.
Great place to stop and spend sometime. Very educational, and well taken care of had a awesome time!!! Great stop for homeschoolers or small school groups! They have a age centered scavenger hunt!
It is not scary or creepy, it is marvelous! I brought my sister who had been to xray school because I thought she'd like it, but I was absolutely blown away. The displays are professionally done, informative and amazing. To see the similarities under the skin of various animals in an animal family is fascinating. While it does not appear to be very large it is so engaging it took a lot of time, and to be honest, I'd go back in a minute. The center display of a giraffe, whale skeletons and a bear give you a special perspective on size I don't think I had fully appreciated till my trip. They have age appropriate scavenger hunts to keep children engaged complete with golf pencils to help them check off their finds. A well curated gift store has something for everyone and a window into their other business, providing skeletons to the education and commercial market. While this may sound like an ad it is just the honest reaction of a 70 year old retired educator who was totally impressed. Don't miss this unique experience.
Pretty cool place! We had a blast looking at all of the different skeletons.
Small museum, however very complete and beautiful, it is pretty organized and have a lot of information for kids and adults.
I loved!
Museum is wonderful place to visit and take the kids along. It won't disappoint!!
This was a very fun and education experience. A bit small, but very well maintained and presented. I love the gift shop too, lots of cool things to buy if you're into animal skeletons.
Excellent place very complete for the whole family, congratulations to its owners, do not forget to visit it when you go to Oklahoma City.
We visited here for the first time last week. At first (just looking a the outside of the building) I thought it was small and we would be disappointed. But we were very impressed! So don't judge the size! LOTS of skeletons to look at and informative plaques next to them. My 4 year old was entertained for the most part-especially with the little kids area upstairs and the scavenger hunt. I like that there is a scavenger hunt for all ages. The gift shop employee was very nice and helpful. We plan on going back one day, we personally loved it and had a great time looking and reading everything. 5 stars and I recommend people visit if you are interested in bones!
Purchased tickets on Groupon and went during a school holiday. It was busy but not crowded, and kept a the attention of kids ages 3, 7 and 10 for over an hour. We can't wait to come back again.
Quality exhibits and a bunch of them! The Orlando location is on my bucket list!
Don’t let the outside fool you, it’s beyond amazing. Was very surprised when we stepped inside. Loved the information with each piece. The owner was very happy to talk about the different pieces. Very pleased and will definitely go back.
Very well kept place, lots of educational information not just for the kids but adults too. I enjoyed it very much here. Highly recommend.
FANTASTIC!!!!! And the gift shop had plenty of options for every budget
Lots of interesting facts about many different types of animals. Tons of skeletons and some stuffed.
The museum is smaller, but is packed full of bones of many species including information on most. Hands on exploration is encouraged on any not behind glass. Don't miss the flesh eating small beetles exhibit in the entrance foyer. Natural way to prep bones for exhibition. We had a group of 20, got a discount, and attended the skulls class. Polly was wonderful with the kids taking time to explain and encourage participation. The class held my active 7 year old's attention, who then excitedly went on one of the age appropriate scavenger hunts. Recommend!
Amazing place to visit. Very educational, camera friendly, gift shop like no other and the staff is excellent. Need to see this place
Extremely educational museum. Among the best in the nation
Went with my daughter on a school field trip. It was pretty nice place. An my daughter thought it was really cool to see all the different skeleton they have on display.
Excellent place for a field trip. Kid friendly.
We were very impressed by this museum. Very educational and I was surprised by how animal bones they had in the museum.
Highly recommend!!!
As the ONLY skeletal museum in America, it is an original. An what an awesome place. The displays are incredible. The posing of the skeletons in the displays are so funny. Like the raccoon and milk duds box, PERFECT!!!
FABULOUS museum!!! Beautiful display and very educational. A real treat.
Great place for a quick family trip. My 12yr old & toddler both enjoyed it.
I loved taking the forensics class. There's so much you can uncover just by analyzing a skull. Super cool
Our grandson loves this place. Last year was the first time we took him here, he was 9 years old and asked to go back this year.
Very educational and interesting. The kids and I had a great time learning new things and look forward to going again.
Great place to visit! The kids and adults loved it!
Our 5th/6th students had an amazing field trip. The museum is very hands on and student friendly.
This place is amazing! The scavenger hunts for all age groups makes the visit even more interesting!
Great fun for young and old alike! Don't let the size fool you - there are hundreds of exhibits bound to intrigue.
Really was surprised by how nice this museum was. There are so many interesting things to look at. Great experience and would definitely recommend!
Love it!!
My son found this place on TripAdvisor as we are passing through Oklahoma City so we made a detour. Wow! The display of all the skeletons and what we learned being able to compare various animals species next to each other was incredible. My boys had a blast doing the crossword puzzles scavenger hunt!
Absolutely love this place! Highly recommended 😎
It's neat. Bones are cool. They have a cat.
Absolutely amazing experience. So many different specimens, and all ethically sourced. There were little activities to complete while walking through the museum, plus a kids section.
Beautiful, well maintained displays. Friendly employees. Great place to spend an hour or two. We took 7 kids ranging in age from 8-17 and everyone had a great time.
Awesome place and an amazingly friendly and professional staff.
Don't be fooled by the outside. This place is really awesome! Tons of touchable exhibits for the kids, and awesome facts and experience for adults.
Very cute! Nestled in a little warehouse and organized exceptionally well. The exhibits are beautiful and the space is clean. The staff is friendly and helpful as well.
Very cool place to check out. It's small but there is so much to see. Love the set up. Really cool gift shop there as well.
Make sure you have a couple of hours to spend . It looks small on the outside but will take hours to see everything and learn a lot.
Fun and very neat. So many different species. They even have a little kids zone for children to color, look at and touch real bones, fun books, and stuffed animals. The gift shop was cool as well. Highly recommended checking it out!
My kids and I absolutely love coming here! We've been there a few times, and it's just like the first time every time. We always notice something new, the atmosphere is great and the staff are always helpful. Our favorites are the elephant, the whales, the penguins, and all the tiny animal skeletons. Such a great experience! Everyone should visit here!
This place is awesome for all ages! The displays are very informative. Also, around 98% of all the bones are 100% real!
Very much enjoyed. Had hoped for more ancient type skeletal displays, which there weren't, but the ancient human skull exhibit was very cool. Enjoyed our experience.
Our 5 year old loved seeing all of the different skeletons of animals & the scavenger hunt! He had to take a #SKELFIE with all the big skeletons
Want to see a variety of skeletons; give the place a chance. Kids had a good time.
Nice gift shop. You can BUY skulls here. Want a GIRAFFE skull; $1000 and it's yours.
I love this place! Ive gone multiple times. Its cheap for a museum and the gift shop has great things even for veteran collectors and people who dont have much money and want to start a collection.
Brilliant museum, very fun and family friendly.
Very interesting place. My son picked this place to visit for his birthday. I would visit more often but I live 2 hours away.
Great place to visit. Staff is very friendly.
Friendly folks and well laid out. Took a 7 year old and he got a sheet for a scavenger hunt. He loved it and we completed our visit in under 90 minutes. He had a great day and will be back
The museum was a great experience. We stayed for 30-45 minutes. Be prepared to possibly explain about various diseases of skeletal deformation to your kids lol
Incredibly interesting! Definitely a place to take children who are interested in animals
Really amazing curated displays. 800 specimens. Bring your biology geek hat and wear it proudly while visiting
I got to do one of the forensic pathology classes, and I absolutely loved it. I find it amazing that everything in there was 100% real. It was very educational, and a great place to bring kids too.
Got the pass from my local library and I was able to go for free free. GREAT Time with my neighbor.
Amazing displays and very informative. Love the little scavenger hunts and crossword available. Definitely will be going again in the future!
This was one of the coolest museums I have ever been to!
This place is amazing. I'm 28 and I could spend all day in here looking at bones. Really really cool. Bigger than it looks from outside.
Nice little gem of a museum with lots of bones! Really 99.99% full of bones. It is amazing how intricately made our bones really are. If you are in OKC, I highly recommend.
We were able to check out a pass for free, through our public library. Which really made it worthwhile. It is interesting to see all the different skeletons, of both humans and animals.
We had a nice time. The museum is interesting. They have the tiniest of bones, to the most massive. Didn't take too long to get through, and the gift shop had some interesting finds.
My friend and I went today for the frst time. What a pleasant surprise. This is definitely a top notch museum. So many well laid out skeletons with informative signage beside each one. OKC can be proud we have this facility to explore and share. Check it out. It does not disappoint.
Very interesting! We did the scavenger hunt (answer questions type) and it really made it so much more informative!
Clean cool and educational. Exhibits are well put together. Creates thought but then answers your questions. Not freaky or grand stand like a Bass Pro or Cabelas.
It’s everything I thought it would be! It was a perfect first stop on our vacation!
The museum is fantastic. If you have the chance to take one of there offered classes, DO IT. The forensics night event is well worth it!!! So fun and informative!!!
Small building, but packed full of awesome displays. Great for all ages!
fascinating experience, couldn't even imagined how can bones be exhibited beautifully. Love the bones!
Good bargain for the price to get in kids really enjoyed it
Clean safe environment, educational yet fun and exciting at the same time, unique experience. Staff wonderful, helpful and engaging. A must see for all ages.
The kids had so much fun learning new things my phone died & I didn’t get to take any pictures =(
Loved it. So many cool things to read and look at.
Small museum but full of so many great skeletons and well organized. Fantastic for kids or young folks too. We really enjoyed it.
Although it's stated somewhere that every thing is ethically sourced when we came across the elephant tusks we felt a bit uncomfortable and that usually means something. Hoping that the majority really is ethically sourced.
Alot to look at if you like skeletons, I really enjoyed the visit.
Such a unique stop! It's a small little place, but has a great collection. The staff was welcoming and the entrance fee was very fair. This is a family friendly environment and would be interesting for children and adults alike.
I highly recommend a stop if you have the time.
Very reasonable price and super cool to see!!!
This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is INCREDIBLE!!! The lighting and the displays are intricate and well-thought out. The variety of animals and the way they're grouped together is such an amazing way to learn more about the animal kingdom. My kids are 4 and 2 and they kept saying, "Wow! Look at that!". I highly recommend this place to everyone that finds themselves in the area. We were waiting for someone to land at Will Rogers airport (only about 15 minutes from the museum), so this was the perfect way to "kill some time". I learned so much, and I can't wait to go back with the rest of my family!
Must see! Very cool museum. We'll definitely tell the homies about this place.
Very interesting museum. The displays are amazing.
It's amazing to see what certain animal skeletons vary in size compared to alive. Love the place and great for kids. I'll be back. Also, get your skulls and stuff cleaned.
Not exactly what I expected, but the whole fam enjoyed it. Probably best for kids in the 7 and up range as my younger kids liked it... But they really didn't grasp the knowledge you could gain from the visit.
I would definitely take them back when they're old enough to understand what anatomy is.
Great little museum. Kids and adults all really enjoyed it.
This is a strange little museum. It is worth a visit once as an educational experience if you can get a good deal. The bones are impressive. It is also locally owned and operated.
Excellent display of skeletons of all species. Very educational. Great place to take your kids.
Came for extra credit for school, learned alot. And had fun
Wonderful place! Very interesting! Highly recommend!
Most highly recommend!
Very cool museum with 98% REAL specimens. The ones that aren’t real are labeled as such.
You can also touch everything except the grizzly we were told.
A little expensive for entry IMO, but if it helps keep the museum running, I’ll pay it. Definitely stop in if you’re in the area!
Such a cool place. I was a bit apprehensive about going but it was delightful.
Such a cool place! I learned so much while I was there. I totally recommend a visit.
Very cute and small museum, have a lot of interesting bones and skeletons to see. Would recommend to all visiting the Oklahoma City area.
I liked it. Totally different. Very interesting.
Fantastic collection! Very friendly, even with the kids. I love that it's small and open, easy to let the kids wander a bit.
Grab a Scavenger Hunt for the kids and they'll get a prize (while learning)!
Awesome exposition, very friendly staff
We had forensic night, with a hands on experience. It was so much fun! Would love to do it again or even another activity there. Hope to see you soon!
We had so much fun here seeing and learning about all the skeletons! The kids had a blast. It was a lot smaller than what I expected but totally worth it.😊
Definitely had a blast here it is fun for all ages
Really really awesome!! The museum was one of the best ten bucks ever spent! Super cool to see so many types of animals on display. The information with them was also very well put together. All of the displays were really well crafted and you can tell love and detail was put into each one. This place is truly awesome and should not be misssed by anyone. Sweet bonus! I picked up a "D" grade coyote skull in the gift shop for 24 bucks!!
Small but awesome...not a reason alone to travel to OKC but if you are close or need to burn a couple of hours. The best!!!!
This place is fascinating! Ditch the zoo and check this out instead!! Our favorite stop in Oklahoma City. Even my teenage daughters were impressed! The building looks small, but the collection is anything but small! We were all surprised, and we all learned something.
I brought two kids here looking for an easy way to spend part of a day. There was enough here to entertain a 3 year old and a 5 year old for quite a while. They got a scavenger hunt paper to work on, the prize was some candy. I enjoyed it as well. It is a small building, so it's not overwhelming. I really enjoyed it.
This place was awesome! Much smaller on the outside than I expected. It doesn't seem like a museum but there's so much to see once you get inside! Super cool and we learned a lot too! Staff was amazing as well
We had a blast! We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was a little busy but everyone was great and we were able to see everything with no problem. It was so interesting to all the different species.
so much fun and educational
Amazing museum! I've been in more than a few museums, and I really appreciate a museum-quality experience. Well worth the admission price. There are scavenger hunt sheets for younger kids, grade school kids, teens and even for over-18 museum adventurers! This was definitely my favorite part of the experience. My kids learned many new things about animals and bones.
Also, don't forget the GIFT SHOP! Lots of fabulous and quirky gift ideas. Even if you aren't very interested in going to the museum, you can stop by the gift shop and find plenty of exciting and unique items. Buy that special someone a real butterfly encased in clear plastic, or a fun toy chicken that comes apart - skin, bones and organs.
You can finish the whole museum in around two hours, so it's a great date night idea. Going to the movies is pretty lame compared to the wonderful treasures you can see up close at the Osteology Museum!
Very fascinating! Took three of my kids for a field trip and we all loved it and learned something. Thank you!
I had the pleasure of attending the museum's first skullarium class with a few friends. It was a great experience, and super fun to get my hands on this project!
My family was in awe! From a hummingbird to a whale! We were all fascinated with the perfect displays! ☠We absolutely love this museum! 💀
Absolutely amazing! If you love skulls, this is an absolute must see museum to visit! Not only do they display complex complete skeletons, they have display information. It was very educational. They also explain how they get the complete skeletons! Great staff!
I can't say enough positive things about our 5 star experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Staff was very accommodating for physically challenged person & small children. They even have an elevator! Parking is also very accommodating.
The gift shop is equally fantastic! Prices are fair for entry & the gift shop. We got t-shirts! We definitely will return!
One of the coolest museums I've ever visited! We drove out from Dallas, TX for Halloween wedding anniversary weekend, and this place was the reason why! I am so glad it did not disappoint. It seems small from the outside, and I even initially thought it was far too small to enjoy, but boy was I wrong. I recommend giving yourself ample time to get through the whole building if you're a reader like me, because you can get so caught up in reading the plaques on the different animal skeletons, that time flies by! I'll definitely be back for a forensic night!
One of the most interesting museums I've ever been to. I definitely learned a ton. And even if you don't want to go around reading everything, it's a low price to pay to even just look at all of the cool specimens they have. Their gift shop is just as interesting!
This was so cool and fun. The gift shop is the closest thing to an oddity store you will get around here and had lots of reticulated bones and specimens that you can purchase. They had scavenger hunts for kids to do. We probably spent about 2 hours going through it all. Will go back someday!
Small but mighty . Enjoyed it very much grab a scavenger hunt and go to work. We had a group excellent deal.
This place is amazing !! Must see in OKC
Oh my God. SO COOL!!! The exhibits are beautifully displayed. Exceptional layout. Loved the gift shop.( get a finger possum!) Best $11 I've spent in a long time
Really unique and interesting experience. Loved the exhibits and also had a great gift shop. Scavenger hunts for kids to help keep them occupied. $10 per ticket and even discounts for military. Would definitely recommend.
Glad we went! Smaller than we expected, but still plenty to see. Used the Metropolitan Library pass and got in free.
A lot of bones and great information to read. The kids did a good scavenger hunt that kept them busy for 20 minutes. The gift shop had a lot of good stuff to choose from. The entranve fee was good for an hours worth of entertainment/ education.
Just love this place! I learn something new every time I come with students. This time I just had one and with our co-op and all libraries closed, I wondered how/where to finish the module. They understood and after we perused the exhibit, though no rooms were open due to Covid, they allowed us to use a couple benches in a corner to plug in my microscope and continue studying our unit on bones.
Wonderful place to go and take your kids
Was nice! Like the bones! I'm glad you could touch the bones! I wish there was more bones to look at! Was a learning opportunity, but I wish that they would teach you more about the bones (such as: where they were found, history of the animal, etc.) Extremely fun! Recommend for kids! Staff was fun!
One of the highlights of our road trip so far. Their collection is big and amusing. Very nicely organized and displayed. I always liked skulls/skeleton but that museum takes it to a whole other level. Very fascinating. Even the guest shop is fun!
Very interesting and worth the trip.
Great little museum! My kids enjoyed it.
Fun museum for a couple hours! Not giant, but a lot to look at. If you are interested in bones, skeletons, and biology, this is a must see!
Very fun collection. This place is essentially a taxidermy shop that they got creative with. Good for them! It's not a big place, but it's very cool and worth the cost of admittance.
Awesome place! Very educational and hands on you are allowed to touch the skeletons except the Grizzle bear. They even have owl pellets that u can purchase for $4 and your kids can break it down and find the skeleton remains of a very small owl. We had a blast and my boys loved it very much!
LOVE LOVE LOVED this place - will definitely be going back!!
We were looking for something to do today for our Sunday afternoon and always see this place recommended on here in the OKC area. We gave it a chance and we were blown away by the amount of detail and information! It looks small from the outside and we weren’t sure going forward, however as soon as you step in, you see that this place is full of all the bones you’d like to see and more! We spent about an hour and half and enjoyed every moment. We will certainly be taking our 8 years old as there were activities a child would enjoy, plus it was very inexpensive at $10/adult and $8/child. It’s worth checking out!
At first I was surprised by how small the museum was. But don't let that fool you. So many different animal bones to see & you can easily spend awhile going thru the museum. The setup is nice & organized. There is a little area for the kids to be able to play & learn. They have a scavenger hunt list that is neat to do. They have a cool gift shop as well with souvenirs you won't see anywhere else.
This museum was one of our favorite stops on our 93-day road trip. Very well done museum of skeletons of current-day animals. It also seemed to be a big hit with the kids and young people that were visiting at the same time we did. Very glad we made time for this stop.
My husband has been wanting to come here for years. We made his wish come true and drove 6 hours one way to get there. Needless to say, he was a kid in a candy shop and was not disappointed. Highly recommend for bone lovers!
Took my son and wife here in our latest trip to Oklahoma and when we come in about 10 days we'll be back. My son was fascinated by all there was to see here and the gift shop was awesome too. It was a little out of the way but definitely worth the drive.
Awesome place! It looks small on the outside, but inside doesn’t feel small at all, even with the massive skeletons. Our kids love going here, especially when they have special events happening. We’ve done trick or treating here, too and that was a blast
My 7 year old son was in his own little paradise here. The smile on his face was well worth the visit. The gift shop was great and there was a good variety of affordable products to choose from. He left with some bones and a rattlesnake rattler. He was very impressed with the whole experience and was asking to go back the next day.
Awesome place to go visit.
Way smaller than expected but it is nice. It was about a 35 min drive for me and if I hadn't tried to read a lot of the information, I would've been done looking at everything in about 30 minutes (give or take). Wish there were more interactive things rather than just touching the few displays.
Went for the skullerium event. Everyone was kind and knowledgeable! Highly recommend! The gift shop has some great things!
I have never seen so many skeletons. Awesome signage with all of them. The young lady cashier was nice and friendly. I of course spent money in the gift shop on cool skulls and a reasonably priced T shirt. Thanks and it is good to know I am not the only person fascinated by skulls and bones.
Wonderful place to visit!
Took the kid's they have really cool activity's for the hole family to do it was great 👍 we had fun and learned a lot …
This is a really cool place. I've never seen nearly so many skeletons in one place. A big natural history museum doesn't come close.
The price was low and the staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. The human skeletons are a little spooky.
The skeletons are supplemented by lots of interesting placards to read. Apparently turkeys fly pretty well, and most birds have bones in their eyes.
Absolutely fabulous! I haven't stopped talking about it with anyone I've encountered. A must see if you get the opportunity!
It's a real jewel. It's not located in downtown or in the city but not too far from it either. But, don't let that stop you from visiting them. How often you hear about a museum that's based on Osteology? They really have a wonderful collection and they are all stationed nicely. It's not a huge place but the collection they have are astonishing. I highly recommend to include this if you are in OKC or visiting.
I knew this place would be cool, I could feel it in my bones!
Very fun place to wonder thru. Way more than I expected. Very educational. Nice gift shop if anything inspired you on your visit.
Loved the whole, Museum...
Amazing
This is a really great museum and is curated by a staff that are highly knowledgeable and committed. The exhibits cover the bulk of the vertebrates and makes understanding comparative vertebrate anatomy quick, easy, and enjoyable. The care taken in preserving the specimens is impossible to understate.
Almost all of the exhibits are real skeletons, but there are a few replicas and these are clearly marked as such.
The gift shop has a lot of typical zoo/museum offerings, but also has some unique items from their collection.
The price of admission is also very good, with coupons and deals frequently available.
The place is very wheelchair accessible, with a load bearing elevator they probably use for moving giant skeletons that the staff are happy to assist with.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I arrived but I was very pleasantly surprised! The exhibits were great and lots of details, very informative. This was a very interesting museum. It's pretty small but they have tons of bones. Signage is great so you always know what you're looking at.
This museum is somewhat off the beaten path. Be aware there is no food or concessions and there aren’t any available restaurants nearby that we could find (besides gas station fare), so don't plan on spending the day there.
I was not particularly excited about visiting this museum but I was wrong. The rules were that if you could reach anything you could touch it. There were many specimens we're available to touch. Those that weren't we're behind glass with information provided. I'm a senior citizen and I enjoyed it almost as much as my 2 year old great grandchild.
This is a small museum with plenty of things to see. It takes less than an hour to go through the entire display, but everything that is there is interesting and informative. My family and I usually stop here during our ten hour drive to see family and always feel satisfied with what we saw in the small amount of time that we spend there.
I would recommend this as a place to go to and see a part of anatomy that is often not displayed and is very interesting. It is entirely skeletons, in case that was not clear, so be prepared.
Overall, I have enjoyed every visit here and will continue to go as long as I can.
World class! This off the beaten path museum is an internationally recognized treasure making it a destination unto itself. This is no "roadside curiosity" but a full museum full of rare specimens impeccably displayed and curated. Delightfully modern and professionally staffed, this is worth the drive, and a minimum of half a day to enjoy. You will be amazed from the moment you step in. Check it out!
I was a little underwhelmed at the idea of this kind of museum, but I was definitely wrong! Had a fantastic afternoon here! Family friendly activity.
I've been to this museum several times and somehow discover something new each visit. It's a small place, but it is packed with many skeletons and facts. The exhibits are set up beautifully and the bones are displayed in an appealing and natural-looking way (no bones just lying around - they're posed as the animals would if they were living).
The gift shop is great. Bones and bugs and taxidermy for sale, as well as nice shirts and glasses and magnets. I like this place a lot, and really love to take people who are from out of town (and in many cases, Oklahomans who had never heard of it before).
If you haven't gone, go! It's definitely a fun and educational experience.
We love this place! Every time we go to Oklahoma we visit the Museum. Everyone from children to adults would find this very educational. Our grandchildren love it!
This is a really neat place to go visit.
It is a little gem with an incredible story.
The collection of skeletons is vast and beautifully arranged. The attention to detail is amazing. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They have a great shop on the way out as well as challenges for the kids who visit.
The skeletons on display are touchable and just amazing.
Thanks for this !
Great place to see some unusual bones
This place was really amazing. So many items to look at and explore. Scavenger hunt for kids of all ages (including adults). Displays are very informative and done in a manner you can really take your time or even get through fairly quickly. Awesome place to visit.
This place is awesome for adults and children old enough to know what they are looking at. 4 year olds, not so much. We expected to be there around an hour and were there for almost three. So much to look at! Fascinating trying to guess what it is before looking! Who knew deer skulls were so terrifying! One of my favorite places and well worth the trip! Don't miss it!
Awesome place to visit with kids or not!!
It was very interesting. We're going cross country and I am very happy we stopped there. They had bones of all sorts some you could even touch. The gift shop was amazing it had all sorts of stuff. My personal favorite we're the socks I got they had all different sorts of socks. I got monkey ones. I also got my best friend who loves turtles and turtle charm. Plus I got a bookmark. I read a whole lot and I don't get sick from reading in the car and I didn't have very many bookmarks so I got a 3D wolf bookmark.
Really good museum for the little space it is. I not really into museums but this one did keep me intrigued because of how you are allowed to touch some of the bones and everything there you can kinda relate and understand. There is also a puzzle for all ages to do when you walk in to the actual exhibit. Would recommend giving it a try if you want to do something different.
This was a really neat stop! They have all kinds of skeletons big and small. You're even allowed to touch the skeletons that are not in cases. It's great to walk around and look at displays, but it can get crowd. Pro tip: If you don't like crowds call ahead and ask if there are any school groups or large parties scheduled for the day of your visit.
Really interesting facts highlighted for the applicable skeletons. Some skeletons had taxidermied 'twin' next to it and most skeletons had a photo of the animal on their info card, making it easier to recognize, especially for animals not native to USA. So glad we went! We will be back.
So informative. We were there for a field trip for our kids. They had a blast and there was so many hands on activities for the kids to do including a scavenger hunt. There are so many cool things in the gift shop as well. We know where we are going for Xmas shopping!
This place is great! It looks small and unassuming from the outside but they have so many skellies to check out! The humpback whale is amazing. So much bigger in person.
Very interesting place, especially it's history. We attended one of their forensics nights, and it was an enjoyable date night. Will definitely go back for additional special events. Bring your camera, there is much to see and photograph here!
Would give it more stars if I could. Perfect examples and real examples for all species of animals. Great for kids and adults alike. Gift shop was lacking but all the exhibits made up for it. A must see.
Unique place for curious kids (and adults) to learn about animals! Its a small place but there is lot to see! Staff were very friendly!
I love the Museum of Osteology. For a small building, it is packed full of bones! They even display their bone cleaning process when you walk in. They provide a scavenger hunt for kids and multiple educational experiences. While I have yet to be able to cash in on one, I hope to do one soon. Great for kids, but also adults!
This place was amazing. It looks so much smaller than it actually is on the inside and what a surprise that really was. The museum of Osteology was the highlight of my trip to Oklahoma. I took so many pictures so I could use them in the future for my art. I'll definitely be visiting again.
This place is AMAZING! Looks simple on the outside and is a little off the highway, but it is a must see attraction for kids and adults! So well organized and informative. Even my husband, who dislikes museums, had a great time. It's organized by animal groups with multiple skeletons from each group so you can see similarities. The bison skeleton was really cool. There are two floors with glass cases around the perimeter for you to view the small and medium skeletons. The elephant and other giants are in the middle where you can touch them and stand beside them for scale. They had more unusual animal skeletons than I expected, such as a whole section of flightless birds like the cassowary and an area with different dog breed skeletons...even a pug! Read the information beside the skeletons, it's crazy interesting and short and sweet. Oh, and there are penis bones called baculum. You can buy one in the gift shop, which is also filled with unusual, fun stuff! This science junkie was impressed!
Neat place, lots to look at. Not a big facility, but very well laid out. Some stuff in there you might not expect in the middle of Oklahoma (items from all over the world)! Scientifically geared, so a great source for someone doing research for school projects! Staff are friendly, and given that Skulls Unlimited is right next door (same owners), I imagine if you needed in-depth info, they could help you find it!
I'll be honest, we went in with slightly low expectations. It's a private museum put together by a guy who has fostered a life-long obsession with skulls, bones, and skeletons. We expected it to be a little weird and cheesy. It was neither.
My wife has a masters degree in Museum Science and even she was totally impressed with the professional layout, the displays, the incredible collection, and how detailed, engaging, and educational the entire museum is. Giraffe skeletons that reach up to the second story, several human skeletons, some from various regions of the planet, some afflicted with bone-altering diseases, and animal skeletons of all types that acted as a constant reminder to how similar we are to other living beings.
This museum is off the beaten path, and not terribly close to many other OKC attractions, but it is worth the drive out to see it, particularly if you love animals, science, or just want to see a fascinating collection.
And, as the placards will constantly remind you: The skeletons are REAL! (there are a handful that are replicas, but they are clearly marked as such).
It's a smaller spaced museum but don'et that fool you, they have so much to see! It's a great place to bring your knowledge hungry children... Not only do they have several pieces to their exhibit they also have a good amount of information regarding them. The staff is very friendly and it is a self-paced visit. They even have some interactive pieces. Not everything is hands off either. This is a great place to spend a couple of hours with you family or friends!
The grandgirls had a fabulous time.
This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is an amazing place! I'm 21 and in college and I had a blast looking at everything. This isn't just for adults though, the museum offers a lot of educational experience to kids. The gift shop is awesome.
Oh my gosh this place was so incredible! We went there on Halloween and got into a conversation with the owner. He invited us to come back the next day as his guests. And I am so glad! We spent several more hours the next day looking and reading all the information about the animals and their bones. They say the company processes 250,000 skulls and animals every year! The knowledge I gathered there was so awesome. I highly recommend visiting this place!
This is well worth the short drive if you are staying in Oklahoma City or anywhere near. They had skeletons as small as hummingbirds and as large as a whale suspended from the ceiling. Aside from those amazingly large and small skeletons our favorites were the snakes. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for something a little different and off the beaten trail.
