Reviews of 45th Infantry Division Museum
Maya Collinwood
Cracks open your heart and brain. Fascinating and well laid out and explained. We walked around reading almost everything, from the Hitler stuff and Dachau (hold your heart) to the dioramas a soldier made commemorating events, plus 3 highly artistic statues I loved, although their setting by a vent and a fire extinguisher was amusing yet fitting. Very friendly staff there who answered a couple questions we had. It's free but we emptied our wallets for the donation box because we're so grateful for such places that remind and teach us.

This was way beyond what I thought it was going to be like. This place was pretty good size inside the building with lots of rooms to walk into that have plenty of items and details of the wars we had to battle. Lots and lots of artifacts. Not very many touch feel stations or kid interaction stations. Also have to say that one of the rooms also shows death of the camps. So very graphic for some people. But it is what it is. And it happened. There was also a little gift shops. That had a few cool items for the kids to get and remember the trip. Outside is displays of the vehicles and aircrafts that was used in the years. This place was very neat and informative.

Great free museum to check out! They have indoor and outdoor stuff. Outdoor is great for kiddos but inside I'd definitely hold your child's hand depending on the age.

Incredible. Will be going back. Kids loved every second. It was free inside and outside. The lady inside was very informative and nice. All in all. Will definitely be going back there again.
Hope Myers
We ran across this museum in the search of things to do. It was an incredible display of history! Very well organized and well taken care of. The guys that run it were amazing! If you are a gun or history buff, you need to go!
Lauren Abresch
All I can say about this museum is WOW. Looks small on the outside, but don't let that fool you. This is a gem of a museum and should most definitely be included in your travel plans when visiting OKC.
There is an extensive collection of firearms dating back to the revolutionary war to the present ... really impressive what they've been able to document and showcase here. Also, I was absolutely blown away that there is an entire collection of Hitler's personal belongings here. I mean, wow, I've never seen anything like that, even in larger WWII museums. The man who greeted us at the museum had some really great tidbits of information about pretty much every exhibit so it was great overhearing his commentary throughout the visit.
My husband and I spent about 2.5 hours here just looking through all the pictures and reading the history of this amazing infantry division. Well worth the short drive outside of the city center. Hard to believe this museum is free, yet houses some of the most interesting wartime history I've see for a while. Highly recommend!

Wow, this is hands down one of the most amazing exhibits I have been to. We've been stationed in Germany the past 5 years and this museum had items that not even the German museums can rival. Admission is free, but please, put that money in the donation box instead. The story of these fearless men featured at the museum, is nothing short of amazing and heart wrenching. Even if you're just stopping in Oklahoma for the day, you cannot miss this opportunity. They also hold the largest collection of Hitler's privately owned items. From going to so many museums in Europe, especially WWII sites, I can absolutely say this is true.
Andy Bennett
This is an excellent museum for those interested in military history. They have a huge collection of artifacts on display ranging from the revolutionary war to the present day, with a focus on the era of the 45 ID, basically WWI through the Korean War. It is more of an "old school" museum, with artifacts packed everywhere with relatively limited interpretation, in contrast to many modern museums that display a limited set of artifacts with more extensive interpretation. Each has its place, and I really enjoy the massive number of things you can see at this museum. Exhibits include an extensive outdoor area of military vehicles and aircraft, and indoor displays of small arms, as well as vehicles and small artillery pieces. More unique exhibits include the collection of cartoonist Bill Mauldin (Willie and Joe), extensive coverage of Oklahomans who received the Medal of Honor, and an exhibit on the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp by the 45th. There is no cost to visit.
Victor Leatzow
Very informative and intriguing museum. More than one can imagine in military history not just with the 45th. A stop well worth the time.
Susan Nettles
Absolutely loved this place! The gentleman there on the day we visited, 9April2022, was really friendly, informative about the building and all the items in the museum. There were some items there that we were surprised to find there but it was super interesting! Admission is free and there is lots to look at inside and out
Darlene V
Amazing museum! Set aside a couple of hours to really take it all in. Great historical memorabilia with lots of information about it. The Dachau room left me feeling emotional.
A hidden gem in OKC.
Jan C
Very interesting! Recommended for anyone with a background or interest in military service and/or history. Friendly, helpful hosts, very interesting displays.
Clarissa McDaniel
This was one of the coolest places we have been! The history was amazing. If you are into WWII history it's a must!
Amanda Elaine Standifer
Great museum! Be warned, their Google page says they close at 7pm, but they actually close at 4:15. So much stuff to look at, both indoors and out. Everyone was very friendly.
C Varty
Very cool museum. Happened to drive by and decided to stop in. Great history hiding in there..
Anne Sturm
There are alot of rare pieces in this collection! Great for kids too! So much to look at and easy for kids to follow.

This is a wonderful museum. It is free to enter, and if you are a military buff or history buff you will love it. Everything from the Spanish exploration to present day. Staff are friendly. It was a fascinating and he thought provoking experience. This museum is a gem.
Angie Antwine
My family are big history buffs as well as we have always been interested in ww2 & ww1 and the memoralbia attached to it. We absolutely loved this museum 👏 Really interesting artifacts and pieces of history. This museum also has the 2nd largest collection of personal items owned by Hitler on display. The museum guides were very friendly and helpful & The museum is also free entry !! What a wonderful museum dedicated to the 45th infantry, we really enjoyed going and seeing all of the very interesting pieces of war artifacts from various wars ! We highly recommend this museum ! 5 stars EASILY !!!
Scott Lee
Really great little museum. Very helpful and well informed staff. I highly recommend this place. It has a surprising number of items on display.
Doug's Bass Place
An amazing collection of military memorabilia from our past. The Hitler collection is something to see.
Heather Elroy
I took my dad yesterday and a lovely gentlemen showed us around to everything and told us about it. I took loads of pictures of everything. Dad loved every minute of it. I really appreciate the time that gentleman took to tell us about everything. I think it really made the experience for my dad.
David Bradley
This is a neat place. Tons of artifacts from the Revolutionary War through Desert Storm. The gun collection is massive and the history here is overwhelming. It's a free visit and worth it, even with little kids (being free you can stay as long or as short as you want with no worries). Inside exhibits and tons of outdoor vehicles on display too. A real tribute to those who keep (and have kept) is safe.
Hunter Thacker
It was the best place and the old man that gave us a tour was the best you should definitely go if you haven’t
Billy Ready
OUTSTANDING JOB! This is a military friendly museum that offers great historical lessons for those who want to learn. The displays inside were awesome with the history told behind every item in very good detail. If you haven’t been here before, I would total recommend this for you!
Marcus Forelius
This place is awesome. Tons of stuff to see, lots of history to learn, great for father and son days or family field trips. I am not sure how big it is but it feels huge with all of the displays which are informative and well maintained. The military vehicles outside are also really cool, they give you a sense of size of just how big the tanks and armored vehicles are. Can't wait to bring my dad!
Deepesh Gupta
My son just moved it. They have so many amazing weapons, aircrafts, tanks etc. It's like a treasure of the old ones used in the past like WW-1. It's well organized and provides a rich history of US Army. You can take beautiful photographs with all the big tanks, helicopters etc. Please keep at least 30-60 minutes for this visit.
Most importantly It's FREE and staff is friendly for any assistance.
Prosanta Ghosh
Truly beyond all expectations. On our two days trip to Oklahoma, we were pondering over places we wanted to visit to get maximum out of our stay. We chose this as one of the places and it was worth. We got the entire history of freedom war, Mexican war, civil war, 1st WW, 2nd WW, Korean war, Vietnam war, and finally gulf war. The presentation, collections, and meticulous placement are too good. I think it is a must visit specially if you have school going kids.
Russell Wynne
What a hidden gem. I love this museum. Some really great artifacts from all the conflict the unit has caught in. Outside also has a really interesting collection of vehicles.
De'Anna Lozano
The is probably the most well put together and informational museum I've ever visited. Very friendly people. Highly recommend.
D. L. T.
It would take days to absorb all the history. Very interesting.
Michael Antkowiak
Not my first time here but it has some new things. I was a member of the 45th and recently my daughter joined so I brought my girls here so they could see some amazing history and understand the importance of the unit my oldest daughter just became a part of. The museum is outstanding in content. They cover every conflict the united states has been involved in with emphasis on the contributions of Oklahomans and specifically the 45th infantry. They have a huge section of maudlin cartoons from WW II. The weapons and uniforms are impressive from the revolutionary War all they way through the war in Afghanistan. The more interesting items to me were the many mundane and personal items belonging to Hitler. Like a tea set or a mirror they seemed so haunting to me. There is one room dedicated to the liberation of Dachau. Very moving. I really like this museum. It's free but asks for donations and the staff is knowledgeable about the subject matter and friendly. Outside the walking paths have vehicle and aircraft from the conflicts. Excellent.
MIKE OLSON
This place is great if you love military things or just our country's history. They have so much to see I was there 5 hrs and still felt like I had to rush to see it all. I'm going back when I have a whole day to spend there
Caitlin Wyckoff
The volunteer Charlie made our visit above and beyond perfect. I brought two senior veterans and he stayed with us and gave us a personal tour. What he did for us meant so much to both my veterans and me. Thank you.
Additional thank you to the curator Mike for helping me find a picture of my great grand father in the old 45th year book!!
Spam Man
Has the feeling of a hole-in-the-wall, but is a museum of museums. Guns, clothing, machines, vehicles, and more from every war/conflict in American history. With memorabilia and actually used Revolutionary War muskets to the tanks fought in the Korean War, and more. Incredible. Highly recommend.
Andrea Styles
Super nice museum that is free. Lots of guns, & different outside items. Well worth your time. Will go back
Icy Matrix
Very cool place to visit. They have tons of tanks to look at. The museum offers tours. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Museum is clean and well maintained. I've been there a couple of times with people who've come to visit and are into tanks. Enjoy the pix!
Aeri *
A great museum! Lots of artifacts and the displays were very well put together.
Mike Beckett
No greater place to work, volunteer or visit. An amazing collection of Oklahoma military history.
Ra O
ABSOLUTE MUST! Enjoyed the many vehicles and collections the museum offered! I’d definitely pay to visit again. Definitely would visit again and spend more time reading about the vehicles. The place looks small on the outside but it’s huge!
Mo Kasem
It is a great place to learn about history and see how huge the army machines are, it is also free!
Jacob Summers
Great place to take your kids to show them some history. My kids love the models and static displays.
Kathi Jensen
Very interesting visit. Wonderful displays of time pieces during the many wars. A knowledge staff is there to answer any questions you may have and also a small gift shop. The displays are so well done, showing the different rifles, pistols, swords and bayonets from each era. Also a display of items taken from Hitler.
Sue Dildine
Very large, lots of detailed exhibits. Most of this is awesome, some quite disturbing. History is history. The 45th Infantry Division was usually on the right side of history, even being instrumental in the liberation of Dacchu during WWII. Oh, and it's free, although there are multiple ways to donate or support through gift shop purchases. Very knowledgeable docents.
teena nola (Shy)
Great place to take kids and to learn on history. Its inside and outside so there is plenty to see and the vets there are very friendly. I had an amazing time and will definitely go back there.
Suzanne Avants (Sweet Pea)
Well worth it! My youngest is a huge WWII fan and he loved it! Lots of neat artifacts!
Ginny Check
Very interesting things to see. Great learning experience for kids about history. Many wars, Hitler & Concentration Camps, weapons, & so much more. Seeing these things make history more interesting to me & probably others too.
Stefan Adamcik
5 stars because I can't add any more. There are so many facets to this museum. There's the extensive weaponry exhibits, the Bill Mauldin original art exhibit, the Oklahoma history, the somber Dachau exhibit, the Hitler personal items captured. Its overwhelming. One walks out of this museum in a state of awe. This museum tops even the West Point museum.
Tommy Dorsey
This place is awesome!!! So much history here. Really big place. Lots of tanks and war vehicles outside. Inside is packed full of amazing artifacts, memorabilia, and things you won't see anywhere else. The admission is free. A must go to museum.
Andrew Smith
This is a must visit. This museum tells the story of the American soldier and exhibits one of the most extensive firearm collections in the world. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Lawrence Baca
This is one of the most outstanding military history museums I have ever visited. The exhibit of the liberation of the concentration camp Dachau is very emotional. I left the museum with a far greater appreciation of the contribution of the 45th Infantry Division.
JD noneya
Really great museum, shows the history of the 45th Infantry Division (Oklahoma Army National Guard, currently a Separate Brigade) from before it's inception through current events. Great displays, especially items from WWII. They have a lot of war trophies, Wermacht and SS ribbons, medals ect. as well as items from Hitler's private apartments. Also, an impressive display of vehicles used and captured vehicles, tanks, artillery pieces and aircraft. Really is very much worth the time.
Daniel
Incredible museum. Worth the trip. Just call ahead to make sure they’re open. Their hours were not correct on Dec 27th.
Wendy Alvey
This place is awesome, alots of stuff to look at and for someone that grew up on army base brings back memories and a great layout
J W P
If you love history then you will love this museum. Its a great place to take your kids or grandkids to learn some history.
MerferGerfer
This place was amazing. The amount of items both inside and outside, as well as the staff who loved what they were talking about.
Kellie Meyer
Absolutely Amazing!! Loved every minute outside as well as inside!! So so many artifacts! Sooo much military history here!!
Merilee Barrington
My husband wanted to stop so we did. It was SOOO worth the time. I am not a history buff but I enjoyed it immensely. The collection of Korean War items was my favorite since my Dad served during the war there. This is a great stop!!
Stephen Parker
Amazing museum for military, weapons, and history fans. Displays include a complete history of campaigns involving the OK National Guard, the 45th Division, and even history on the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. I was impressed by the number of Medal of Honor winners. The display on the Division's liberation of Dachau, including the video interviews with some of the soldiers involved was also noteworthy. Well worth the time!
Ian Hutcheson
Very extensive collection of military equipment and memorabilia from the Revolutionary War through the Afghan and Iraq wars, mainly focusing on the two World Wars. The highlight is the collection of Hitler's personal affects from his Munich apartment and Obersalzburg, it's actually pretty incredible that you can see it for free in OKC. The outside exhibits with military planes and vehicles is really cool too. My only qualm is that I wish there was a little more of a narrative built into the layout, the museum is a bit less "sophisticated" in that regard, but it is a truly great collection of stuff.
Anthony Mellendorf (HighTechTony)
One of the hidden gems of Oklahoma City. So much knowledge to be gained going here. The artifacts and items they have are numerous and one of a kind. Anyone in the city should think about visiting the museum. The 45th is the division who liberated Hitler's Berlin apartment as well as the Dachau concentration camp, so there are a lot of those items here. 10/10.
Robert Mason
Where are you going to see this much history without a price tag. This is a must see in OKC. The people care alot and the history you see is amazing!!!!!
B Reeves
I didn't have enough time the first time, im going back! OMG! I love this place. The history here is absolutely amazing. Inside and outside of the grounds there is so much to see. The outside has a path you can walk down and read on the vehicles as well. Must see!
April Cottrill

Michelle Whitlow
We stumbled upon this museum and we were blow up by the in person machines we were able to see! We ran out of time to make inside but we’ll be back!
M Tang
Came across this museum by accident during my trip through Oklahoma and I'm not going to lie, this place is amazing. A good selection of tanks, artillery, and other vehicles on the exterior. Inside, a plethora of military small arms and other equipment spanning multiple eras. My only complaint was that I was on a time crunch and did not have adequate time to properly view the entire exhibit. Free admission and parking, do not miss out on this gem!
Paul
A lot of awesome stuff to see and read. The staff here is knowledgeable and has some really interesting stories. This place has some really cool historical items. It is laid out nicely and lets you roam through time. There are many guns, swords, vehicles and artifacts to see. A definite place to take the family to learn some history. It is free to get in.
sakthi Senkuttuvan
Good place to visit in Oklahoma city. museum is well maintained & free entry.. We spent 3hrs my 5year kid explore it..
Ashley Lindsey
One of the best war museums we've ever been to. So thorough.
Michael McBee
Admission to the 45th Infantry Division Museum is free! Donations are accepted and appreciated.
Jimmie Ahrend
One of the best places to go in OKC. Lots of history and a lot to see in a small area, both outside and inside. Best part is that it is free admission.
Edward davis
Loved it, the gentleman that walked with us to tell us about the exhibits was very pleasant, would love to come again
Joseph Cope
Such a cool place to visit. And it's free!! My 10yo made so many connections with his schooling from this year and was blown away when he saw one of Hitler's capes. History buffs could spend hours; those just perusing will be interested in their well put together displays for a good hour. It kept my 10 yo's attention for a solid hour, which is tough to do! Definitely worth whatever time you have. And you can't beat free!
Jason Winn
Very cool museum we got a history lesson from a wonderful volunteer, a gentleman who served our country in WW2. Great display I wasn't expecting to look into the mirror that Hitler himself gazed into.
Kyle Schneider
Excellent museum to visit. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable too! I really enjoyed looking at all the vehicles, tanks, helicopters, and aircraft they have on display. Not to mention the vast collection of firearms on display. I really appreciate all the time and effort put into making the displays. Highly recommend this place if you are in to history even a little bit
Sabrina Young
Have been here several times, always love reading and seeing things about the wars my country has fought in.
Deborah Spencer
I'm not a military or war buff, but this place fascinated me. I was taking my visiting grandson to Oklahoma City to go to Frontier City to find it is closed on Tuesday. Found this by accident, but the grandson is a military history buff. So I decided to take him. We ended up being there for 4 hours. A definite must see. Just great.
HEAD SHOTSCOUNT
EXCELLENT HISTORY LESSON. EXCELLENT DISPLAYS.
EXCELLENT PPL RUNNING THE PLACE.

Andy Suby
Well kept! Amazing collection of historic artifacts from all conflicts involving the 45th infantry. Would recommend to anyone!
Christina Heald
A wonderful collection of military history particularly that of the 45th Infantry. We have a relative that was part of the 45th on my husband's side so it's always neat to visit and teach the kids about him and military history.
Sandi Davis
Fascinating exhibits throughout the museum. Workers there are veterans and can answer so many questions.
All children must be accompanied by an adult indoors.
Outdoor displays include planes and cannons.
CJ “Insane1984”
Absolutely fascinating and an incredible experience for anyone remotely interested in warfare history.
Covers everything from the war for independence all the way to the gulf.
The only thing that could make it any better would be a pub lol
David A.
We had a fantastic experience. This place is loaded with history.
ed thornton
It's one of the finest military museums I've ever been to. My wife and I went there together and I was able to share a lot of my memories and experience. I was in M48 Patton tanks and there was an "M48 Patton" tank there. It's a really large Museum covering a lot of Acres. The weaponry dates pre Civil on. I guarantee you an afternoon of Delight if you go by yourself or take your family. There is even picnic tables if you wanted to sit down and eat a sandwich, drink a soda. I promise you it will be a good time.
Logan Ray
A gem in the State. The museum has greatly improved, is easily accessible and has reasonable hours. Fantastic collection of various war memorabilia, and even some originals of Bill Mauldin's World War II Willie and Joe drawings. This must be on the bucket list of anyone who lives in the OKC-Metro area, or if you are passing by!
Liam Thomas
Extremely impressive. The gentleman were so friendly and I even left with a couple free books. Made sure to leave them a good donation for their museum!
John Griffin
Very cool fair amount of fighting vehicles outside lots of history inside. Well worth the visit
Char Pope
Watch "The Liberator" before going to the museum. It will make your visit much better!
Alan Nelson
More than I expected. A lot more. Great presentation. Outside and inside both great. Took my 13 yr old grandson and he loved it. Very educational and informative. Friendly folks there. Highly recommend.
Luke Emack
Alot of interesting history here. More than you would expect. They have done a great job.
Teliha Arnhold
Loved everything about this place! Staff was wonderful and very helpful. My family really enjoyed ourselves.
Bob Brown
This museum is one of the best! They have an amazing collection of vehicles, weaponry and uniforms. We were running short on time when we stopped by and had to move through quickly, this was not how to see it. Make sure you have a few hours if you really want to appreciate it. We will be going back again soon when we have more time to spend and go slower.
Randy Burton
Amazing assortment of military vehicles and armor/field guns outside. Inside there is too much to see in one visit. I've been twice and plan on returning again when I travel to OKC for further medical follow-ups. Really like that there is no fee to go inside. Different rooms for different time periods. The staff is most helpful and can guide you through the layout of the displays.
Jason Schuelka
If you love history you have to check those places out. The
april zapata

Wish I could give this place 10 stars. It was great. The people there were very friendly and nice. It is Free and there is so much history there. You could spend most of the day there reading and looking at everything they had. It was an amazing museum full of information. Great for children of all ages or those that wish to know more about history in general. A must see if you are going to go visit Oklahoma City.

Alejandro McHenry Espinoza
Great place to go to, it has a lot of great exhibits and history on the 45th.
Vince Smith
Great museum!
Keaton
Amazing. Free. So much to see.
Jeremy Sexton
covers the medal of honor winners from oklahoma, the largest collection of hitlers personal articles(more than Smithsonian), it covers early America wars through present day, the 45th infantry division, large collection of vehicles, artillery pieces, guns, captured foreign pieces also, there is a holocaust area that may not be age appropriate for all ages, everyone should visit, free entry but they do accept donations. there is a gift shop, public restrooms, large collection outdoors, wheelchair accessible
Brandon Keith
One of the best mil hist museums I've seen, too many rarities to mention and the staff is not only knowledgeable but experienced. I highly recommend the outdoor exhibits as well, despite the summer heat. Even a studied military historian will (and did) find pieces they've yet to see. Definitely give this place a look (and a donation, public funding is how these museums keep up and running and they're priceless)
CHAD
Awesome museum i spent nearly 2 1/2 hours there well worth and it was free. Donations are gladly accepted.
Carol Hutton
Wonderful place to remember our military- WWII and Korean War. My grandson was fascinated by the museum as early as age 4. I consider this a must see for any one who enjoys museums. 😊 …
Daniel Andrella
Outstanding! Amazing collection. A must-see. Free to visit but be sure to donate and support this fine museum.
Virginia McClatchey
This place is awesome !! This is just a few pictures.
Ashley Sopila
I've been here several times and have learned something new each time. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged. Even if you don't like to read, there's so much to see and so much to experience. If you do like to learn more, there's so much to observe and read further into.
The Mickey Mouse gas masks were haunting, to be honest, but a part of history. I would definitely recommend going.
Bob_a_dooda
The museum was fantastic, many interesting vehicles and weapons. I really enjoyed coming here. The only thing that I would like to see is better staffing. I saw maybe 2 staff members in the back break room.
Josué Chávez
A Diamond in Oklahoma! I did not expect this museum to have so many artifacts. Articles of war, the Holocaust, conflicts in the land going back to the 1500's. Truly a diamond in Oklahoma, and it's free. Please, do give a good donation. If you are a fan of American and World Wars, this is the place for you. Everyone in Oklahoma should visit this museum. As it is stated at the end of the museum, "Freedom is not Free".
zach burke
This is one of the most incredible military museums period!!! They have almost every gun and vehicle used throughout military history all on display and it doesn't cost a dime to go! Totally worth checking out if your in Oklahoma City or even worth a trip out to see. The whole city has tons of other attractions but this should be towards the top of your list to check out. The museum doesn't seem that large from the outside, but much like the TARDIS, once inside it's so much larger. It just seems to keep going and going! There is hours and hours worth of stuff to read and take in throughout the museum. Even if you're not a person of military interest or a huge history buff this museum is still super fascinating and has pieces of history you wouldn't see anywhere else. There are even heirlooms from Hitler himself which is worth seeing alone! After one visit, I'm dead set on going back. My wife and I had an amazing time visiting and taking pictures with all of the military vehicles and you will too!!
Jessica Crouch
This place is awesome! Friendly staff and very educational! Inside and outside is so cool and interesting!
Angela Hallett
A very nice guy walked us thru and told us cool facts. Also lots of cool stuff outside.
Emmanuel Campos
If you are visiting OKC this place is a must, the experience was very pleasant, this museum has one of the most interesting rooms on ww2 I've ever seen.
Nichole Clegg
So many memories...so much History... SOo many beauty Boys and Up standing women. To be remembered here. "Never for get those that made the way... So that you could be here today"- T.I.
John Rowe
Always a great place to visit with plenty of indoor and outdoor exhibits. Very clean, too. A must see.
Caleb Baker
One of the best museums I have been too. As a current service member it was great to see a place like this and learn more about the endeavors of those who fought before me!
kaleb brown
Came here about three years ago with my parents, amazing museum, favorite one that is close to me, would definitely recommend coming here. Don’t have any photo since it was a while ago, but trust me it’s worth it

Excellent, lots of great stuff to see.
Christopher Baumgardner
Friendly curator and plenty to see.
Jeff Palmer
Awesome museum free to go in and they do not ask for a donation just a box at the end of the museum and you can decide what it is worth. I have been to lots of old war museums but this has the heritage, pictures, artifacts, stats, vehicles, airplanes, helicopters, tanks, artillery, buttons, badges, medals, newspapers, Hitler's personal belongings, for every war from The American war to the Korean war. I could spend hours here telling you about everything that's inside and outside this museum. Just go and you will find out how awesome it is.
Marcus Pinnock
Absolutley love the place. So much to learn and explore!
Susan Glenn
Wonderful place to learn about world and state history.
Willy Rodriguez
I love this place
Ron Wilson
Excellent from start to finish. The exhibits are top quality and professionally displayed. The hosts/ guides are knowledgeable and more than willing to answer your questions. My son and I drove from the Denver area just to see this museum just for this museum. It was more than worth the cost. We have a personal tie to the 45th division. My father was in the 45th and a family friend was was a POW in the dacha death camp liberated by the 45th.
Anna Ratliff
This place is amazing! I can't believe I've lived in Oklahoma my whole life and have never been here. I wanted to spend all day here but had a sleepy baby so we had to cut it short. I'll definitely be back. It's free but does take donations. It has so so much too see. Plus the building alone is awesome. If you're into history, military, weapons, etc it's worth the visit.
Craig Farrow
An outstanding collection of history, weapons, uniforms and military vehicles!
Natalie Moore
Wow what an amazing place. I truly enjoyed my visit.I am so proud to live in America. I enjoyed seeing parents with their children Best place for various culture lessons God bless you
Nicole Smock
I researched fun hidden gems in Oklahoma to take my best friend (who was visiting from out of state) & this place was recommended. It was amazing! We spent hours there! It was amazing & also heartbreaking at times. My only recommendation would be to leave the little ones at home. Just so you can really soak in the whole experience. I can't wait to take my husband.
Nicolaas Staalberg
As everyone has said, very well setup and very informative.
Stefanie Cahill
A totally amazing place to visit. The historical pieces on display are a true testament to the 45th! I learned so much during my visit. I took my time at each display inside that I didn't get a chance to actually see everything in one visit. I am looking forward to going back to see the rest of the inside displays. Will make sure to go on a nice day so I can take my time touring the outside portion of the museum as well.
Teddy Newell
I’ve been going to this museum since I was a young boy. I love this place. I see something new every time I go. Words cannot describe how cool the place is.
Richard Beam
This place is awesome! This is definitely a hidden gem in the city. They have ceremonies on Veteran's, and Memorial day. There is plenty to look at when you visit this museum, and you can learn more than you ever thought you could know about the history of the Oklahoma National Guard. Perhaps the best part of this place is that it is free! Please donate if you are able, but at the very least sign in so they can count you in order to maintain government funding. Check this place out if you get the chance.
Chad Kennedy
Very cool collections. Particularly enjoyed seeing the displays that showed the evolution of firearms and ammunition. Lots of information. DEFINITELY worth a visit if you're in the area.
Only complaint was the museum attendant. He was very knowledgeable but also rather intrusive, interrupting conversations to give more information on everything.
M JF
This is a great place for young boys to see military relics and history. Life size articles of the tanks and planes and cannons they might play with. Also girls if so interested. Good historical preservation though they probably need more donations to spruce them up from weather wear and tear. Some nice memorials also to those who served us in the military over time. Worth the visit especially if you are seeing other attractions in this area of town.
K Christensen
Very nice place with lots to see! Could've spent hours here honestly. Loved it!
Mike Bosley
My daughter and I love this place. It's extremely well done and the volunteers are very helpful. The items from Hitler's apartment are fascinating as is the large weapons collection from all our major conflicts.
Rachel Leonhart
Very interesting history. Love the outside walking trail with the military vehicles.
Stephanie Barnett
Myself and my children absolutely love this museum! They have stuff in side and outside! Horatio Hewat
On our way back from the Softball complex we stopped in to view the display of tanks, guns, and military vehicles. I am a Vietnam Veteran, and I got to see first had a lot of the equipment that was in use during my tour overseas. I enjoyed being able to go unclose to look at the various pieces of equipment. I really enjoyed being able to explain a lot of the equipment to my grandson. He's seen picture and film of the gear, but had not seem it up close. It is an impressive display. The grounds are well cared for, and the equipment is clean, presentable, with great explanation of what they items are. Good job.
clifford randell
Fantastic FREE (donations accepted ) place to bring the kids to see the helicopters, ranks, and planes. Huge collection of military small arms and equipment indoors too. WWII artifacts are amazing. The staff are fantastic and work hard keeping the museum up to world class level. I love it. I have been to many other military museums but love ours the best :) God bless Oklahoma and the 45th ID !
Jerry
Loved the exhibits. The history on display was beyond words, you need to check it out for yourself. A good challenge would be coming away not moved by the sacrifices, and trials of the greatest generation.
Jopsyduck
I loved learning some of what Oklahomans did during the world wars.
Marti McCaslin
Took my kids and grandkids there Saturday. Age range was 73 to 2. All had a very positive experience and plan to return. Thank you to all past and present Thunderbirds!
Justin Parmley
Traveled from the St Louis area. Easy to find from the highway/street.
Outdoor portion - easy to transverse even with all the storms recently. Excellent display of vehicles, aircraft, etc.
Indoor portion - we were greeted by a knowledgeable guide who explained the layout of the Museum which is quite larger than it appears. Filled with ALL sorts of military history and artifacts.
Enjoyed the experience!
Mr. Lucky 5
It was a great, emersive experience. The docents were really kind, helpful, and friendly. A great place for the family to learn some history. Overall a great experience. 10/10 would recommend!

Collin Cerne
If you want a great study in American History through the portal of military conflict this museum is excellent. You can see impressive artifacts displayed throughout the museum. The period of WWII is super impressive. Take your time you won't regret it. Also the Bill Mauldin collection is amazing.
Stanford “Boots” Williams
What a great telling of the 45th Infantry. The gentleman who were at the museum were also full of rich history and I was glad I went.
Sheila Carsins
A must for any veteran. The historic exhibits are fabulous. We spent hours there. Stuff for every age to appreciate. After seeing all the history inside, the kids can actually touch and experience historical weapons of the past. And it's free, please add a few dollars as a donation, so our future generations can experience history. A true hidden gem in OKC, just off MLK BLVD.
John Eyre
Very cool place!! Lots to see and read!!
Daniel Logan
Absolutely loved our time here. My son, an avid military fanatic, enjoyed just seeing everything while I absolutely loved reading all the history and stories.
The one drawback for this time of year is the unchecked Yellow Jacket community on the ground. They own the tanks and make sure it's known. We had to mind our distance a number of times.
Sherri Watson
I absolutely loved visiting today!! Your staff was wonderful, Very welcoming, informative, and friendly! The artifacts and displays were beautifully placed with nice lighting...Lots of room to walk, browse and take pictures oth inside and out...I will highly recommend your museum to others and plan myself to come back! Thanks so much for what you do!
Cody
Really awesome place to take the family. Lots of really neat milliary vehicles and weapons. They also have one of Hitler's cloaks which is a pretty cool piece of history. Oh, and it's free, so give them a donation!
Eric Poe
An extremely thorough collection! I've never seen so many guns and equipment, much less organized in such a complete history of type, development, and implementation. The facility is just packed with an immense degree of history and glory. Even the equipment outside is well cared for and is a great collection of tracked vehicles, artillery, and aircraft. Well done.
David Littlestar
Enjoyed the displays outside and inside. 6yr old son was bummed that he couldn't climb on any of the displays. Would be nice to have one display that is kid friendly and allowed for them to touch and climb on. Volunteer was great that was by the entrance. He was a wealth of knowledge.
Ben King
The volunteer that I experienced was very knowledgeable and kind. The Museum had all sorts of weapons and support equipment for the 45th. This place also includes a lot of enemy captured items. It is one of the best experiences you can get as far as price vs. knowledge gained. I loved it 100%
Robert
Add amazing collection and knowledgeable staff
Chris L.
Took my daughter and girlfriend by here because my daughter loves planes. She was not disappointed. We didn't go inside because we got their shortly before closing. But will go back when they are open so we can go inside.
Corey Sandifer
If you are a military or history buff this museum is a must see. Admission is free and you can easily spend all day browsing. The museum is relatively large with both indoor and outdoor exhibits. I will deffinately come back with more time on my next visit.
Angelina Lucio
It was so cool to see all these thing and learn about new things i didn't know about and my family loved it. i would recommend going.
Eric Fredrickson
Free. Can't beat that. Lots of awesome history on display. Fascinating stuff. Go at your own pace or we ever had a volunteer take us on a bit of a tour as our guide. Highly recommend you visit.
Christy Cooper
Very interesting place, liked it alot!!!
susan white
One of the best museums in the area. The history is represented very well.
Tommy B
Was just looking to kill some time and stumbled upon this place. It's a nice museum if you like a little bit of history. Nothing too spectacular but it was free.
Rosemarie Brown
This is one of the better military museums. There is info to appeal to anyone interested in histories about Oklahoma, minorities in the military, army, air force, civil war, WWWI, WWII, the holocaust, the dignities of public service, or the horrors of war. The content can be upsetting, especially when reviewing the displays on the holocaust and confederate history. The benefit of knowledge gained from visiting outweighs the sadness one might experience. There are so many static displays outside and these are more appropriate for children. This museum is rare for the details provided. It is worth a visit.
DenysB.
Super museum with free entrance.
Robert Bailey
This is a museum put together very well to memorialize veterans of our wars. Awesome displays, artifacts, postings, memorabilia, and a wealth of knowledge to gain. This has to be one of the best military museums in the country. Take your time here and learn from what you see and read. Even though I am not a veteran of the military, I admire, respect, and honor those who serve and have served. I do work in serving citizens, just not the military. I really enjoyed what knowledge I gained from visiting the museum.
Zepherine Miller
Great place to go back in time. Educational and fascinating to see all the artificats. Although the building looks small from the outside, it was spacious inside. Employees were very knowledgeable and willing to share the history of the building and artifacts.
Warren Osborne
Amazing collection and knowledge of all the legendary wars going back to the civil war. Was fascinated with all the world war II axis and allied rifles machine guns metals uniforms etc, just amazing!
Free to get in but please don't be cheap, donate a little something at the desk when you walk in keep this place up and running and these timeless pieces available for viewing
Barry Williams
No conceal or open carry.
Lots to see
Kari Huskey
So many amazing artifacts of history
andy korpash
One of the best military museums that I have visited. Lots of rare weapons and military artifacts
Scarlett
If you’re interested in army museums this is a must see, very well kept. We really enjoyed the weapons collection inside, the Hitler items, and the equipment outside. Tanks, planes and several types of large equipment sit outside. Everything has a paved path and signage.
Inside is a large display of weapons used by the 45th. There are photos, maps, and a collection of Hitler’s personal goods brought back after the fall of Berlin.
Tiziano Fiorenzani
What a great place! Here there are pieces ranging from the secession war up to the last Afghanistan war. And it's all free! Ask the volunteers and they will be happy to tell you interesting stories or guide you through some remarkable pieces
Dr.Debasree Biswas
I dont know his name and i didnot take his picture unfortunately, but there is one particular volunteer,an elderly man, who made our day at this museum wonderful! He was sweet and made fun jokes and pointed out fun places to take our pictures! Thanks a lot and a big ShoutOut to this wonderful free access museum. Also the person who helped us at the gift shop!!
Larry Ferguson
This is an amazing place. There is so much to see in this place that I have to go back again sometime soon. It's free although donations are accepted. There are actual tanks Jets and helicopters on posts outside for you to see as well. Family friendly place.
Anne Murray Chilton
Incredible collection and friendly staff
New Saxony Productions
It had a ton of cool exhibits and artifacts. The outdoor area was very cool with many different vehicles and artillery units. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had served in Vietnam.
tyrannotorus
Truly impressive miilitary collection with weaponry that spans centuries, and a really knowledgeable, interesting, and friendly host/curator who showed me around - despite his views on climate change. Just because climate change has happened without human activity, doesn't mean human activity can't cause it! Highly suggested museum.
Bruno
One of the best museums I've ever had the pleasure to visit, I'm glad to live near this museum. I recommend this museum for people who are very interested in military history and uniforms. I might be biased since I am a huge "fan" of history, but definitely recommend it.
Brandi Johnson
This is a museum that houses military memorabilia from WW I to Dessert Storm. On the grounds are some well maintained military vehicles, planes, and mobile artillery.
The staff is super helpful and full of tons of information.
My 8 year old son enjoyed seeing all of the different military equipment.
Tracy Polcaro
This was an amazing tour! My husband and I were really surprised how expansive the inside was, they had an AMAZING collection of war memorabilia! This is DEFINITELY worth an afternoon trip!

Angel Falcon

Dino Boy
My kid loved it and so did I it made me speechless when we got there and was so fun definitely recommend
Brian Thomas
I've been coming to this museum since I was little and it's never failed to please. When I was a little kid, I loved the old vehicles outside and enjoyed running around the little park looking at them. When I got older, I appreciated the history that was on display inside of the information I learned. There's historic firearms, a collection of Bill Maudlin's work (who? Go find out!), exhibits on the different wars the Thunderbirds have been in and plenty of other things to keep you busy.
The most moving part of the whole museum is the area on the Holocaust and the concentration camps that the 45th had a hand in liberating. It's... haunting for lack of a better word and I was quite glad the chapel was right next to the exhibit as you will definitely want a quiet moment afterwards.
The museum is free of charge but there is a donation box at the front door to help them with the upkeep.
Scott Marcum
Great museum! Lots of stuff inside and it to look at. Militaria ranging from the American war of Independence to today's current involvements. The gift shop has a little bit of everything and it's reasonably priced.
Angie Marlett
The people here are amazing! They walked me through step by step what I wanted to say on my brick for my great uncle and when I placed an online order they sent a personal note. They have an amazing collection of firearms here!
Lost Traveller
Great display of military equipment. Incredible stuff like tanks, planes, guns, etc..
Chad Winward
Great collection of vehicles
Chris Boutin
Great museum. They have various tanks and aircraft from world war II, the Korean War, and Vietnam era outside the museum (probably 30-40 vehicles). Inside they have artifacts from basically the start USA to could military. Mostly weapons (pistols, rifles, knives, machine guns, etc) but they also have helmets and uniforms going back to world war I from various nations. Plus history about the 45th involvement in various conflicts.
Zackary Campbell
Great museum to visit would recommend it has so much history in it from muskets to early lever and bolt action rifles to our modern semi and automatic rifles used by pur military. When you are done outside is a host of tanks you can walk around and look at.
Crystal Martin
My father loved this place and my memories as a child are wonderful. I miss my dad and glad this place is still around. Will bring my kids after this winter is over. Looking forward to it!
Jeffrey Taylor
Interesting museum to visit. Our kids liked the exhibits and the information. I wish their outside artifacts had details that were closer to the path or roadway. Those are not ADA friendly.
Tom Rueb
As a local I passed by many times as I worked for local government agencies near for years, I never stopped in to look around. One day decided to just go in. They had a very extensive collection of infantry items that I had never seen before and displayed very well. It was clean and neat. There were one of a kind special use verticals outside to look at.
Martin Jones
Unfortunately not hands on, but they had lots of cool stuff to look at. Many vehicles outside as well as many artifacts and stuff inside. Well worth the visit.
Jesse Wells
This is a classic place in the heart of Oklahoma City. They have many historical artifacts from the battles that America’s military has been a part of. One of the most interesting things is that they have one of the largest collections of Hilter artifacts in the US. Very cool place.
Syrus Tolentino
Lots of military equipment everywhere. It is a nice place to go to with lots of different vehicles outside and lots of details and weapons onside. The museum was really fun to look over and the place is very well kept.

The ladies and gentlemen there are so knowledgeable and will give you a tour. I asked some questions about my grandfather and his regimen. The gentleman got on his computer and helped me locate things and opened my eyes on what I could find. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good piece of war history.
Lesta Little
Excellent museum. Lots of A. Hitler memorabilia brought back by soldiers of the 46th infantry
Amanda Soto
Amazing love that there's no admission there is so much to see. I just wish that more people would leave a donation of at least what 5 or 10$ since everyone who works at the museum are volunteers and or veterans.. can t wait to go back again and again
Charles Ingram

A treasure of unbelievable proportions!!! The best “COLT” firearm display I have ever seen in one place. Hundreds of millions of dollars in historic items surpassed only by its worldwide display of 45th Infantry memorabilia!!!
Seth B
It was amazing, this museum opened my eyes to the harsh reality of war, it educated me on the weapons used and the minds of those who started wars, they have every weapon you could ever imagine from every corner of the world, it is a wonderful place to go if you're a weapons enthusiasts or a war historian, they have heavy armored ground weapons and a ton of air force, all of which is very easy to view, it is a very informal and nice experience, the man who ran it was very very friendly and loved to educate those who asked.

Inside there is are the displays of many different and vintage firearms, uniforms and other memorabilia from early 1800s to today.
Don't be offended with the swastikas that you see as that was the original symbol for the 45th before Nazi Germany started using it. That's when the 45th changed to the Thunderbird.

The 45th Infantry Division was one of General George S Patton's cracked divisions during World War II. He always requested that it be one of his divisions. Here in this Museum you can see all sorts of memorabilia from the divisions role in World War II. Captured Nazi flags and weapons, and ambulance that was used to take injured soldiers to the hospital, and much much more. Tons of weapons and other military equipment.
