Reviews of Space Shuttle Pavillion
Great to see the space shuttle that never went to space. Despite being a prototype it is still amazing to see it and learn more about it. Other museums have ones that actually went to space. It is surprisingly big for its time and had a crew of 7. Truly cool to be able to see what it really looked like and be able to picture it in real life.
It’s impossible to really grasp the magnitude of the space shuttle until you’re standing next to one. If you’re visiting the space museum, I can’t recommend the Space Shuttle highly enough. The information is well-presented, the gift shop has a wide variety of items (albeit expensive ones) and the shuttle is just incredible.
Today was free Friday so no cost to enter after 5pm. There is also a movie, I think E.T. on deck of the Intrepid at dusk. The museum is definitely worth a trip and a stop! Staff are great!
Great opportunity to get super close to a shuttle. Lots of little informational exhibits around it and history of the program. Being able to walk under the shuttle and see the heat tiles up close was neat.
We went during kids' week, and it was an awesome experience. There is so much to see, do, and learn
A bit disappointed that the engines were covered. Also the thermal insulation had some kind of paint on top. The Endeavour in LA is closer to the original state.
Space shuttle section of the USS Intrepid museum - the sheer size of the shuttle is awesome
Definitely worth a visit, especially if you like space travel.
It's amazing to see the shuttle up close (much bigger than it looks on telly) and it's the Enterprise!
Good free educational talks going on explaining the US space program.
When at the Intrepid, do not miss this. Shuttle Hanger is located at the rear of the flight deck
Absolutely brilliant. So well done and presented. Greatly part of history on display.
Worth a visit, a great museum with lots of stuff to see: space shutle, air planes and more.
I love technology, and space exploration. The enterprise represents technology, research, space exploration, and engineering. It's a physical manifestation of everything I believe makes humanity great. To can get really close to the craft, look up its landing gear, and though large parts are not exactly space material, it's worth taking some time looking for the marks the space shuttle program left on this research specimen.
The pavilion also has a Soyuz capsule on display if you're wanting to see a vessel that went through the stresses of reentry
It's freakin HUGE. There is just something about seeing things for real. A real space ship was epic.
Great place! They've really done a great job with this exhibit. A real boon to the Intrepid as it's been docked in the harbor for many years now. The pavilion is air conditioned with a staircase and viewing platform. You may not enter the space shuttle though. The interior is off limits to visitors.
I didn't know this was here when I visited the Intrepid, but I was pleasantly surprised to say the least! USS Enterprise was the first space shuttle and whilst it seems it never actually made it into orbit is a historic vessel. There is a great exhibition with it, and a Soyuz capsule that returned the first paying 'space tourist' to Earth.
To stand so near to a REAL space shuttle was an incredible experience and a privilege. If I have a criticism, it is that there is no gantry to view the shuttle from above, which is a pity but as it is, one can climb up and view Enterprise from the nose.
Well worth a visit.
Outstanding, basically the space shuttle Columbia along with photo exhibition and educational stuff. You basically come here to see the space shuttle, which many of us dreamt of flying when we were kids. A must in NYC!
Highly recommended to take the Apollo and Beyond VR and G force simulation add on.
They have the Enterprise here, the first atmospheric tester for the shuttle program. A lot if other memorabilia and a shop. It's worth going just to see the shuttle.
Interesting to see a Concorde, but you have to pay extra for a tour to go in it. Going up in the bridge, flight deck, hanger deck, and 3rd deck all had good exhibits, with decent explanations of each area or thing. The attached pictures are of the brochure/ map they hand out.
This museum is very interesting. The space, the water and the air. Very recomended.
With this I have finally visited all the existing space shuttles. It is very cool to see one of these up close because of the sheer size of the thing, not to mention all the other unique vehicles featured at the Intrepid museum.
It's part of the Interpid air and space museum. The shuttle is on display here. There is loads of information related to space programs. There is also a Virtual reality session, costing about 14usd. My son enjoyed the VR experience.
Was good to be so close to a space shuttle, however the information on the walls seemed to repeat itself. Would have been better if there was more detailed information about its achievements
I really liked looking at space shuttle so mich I missed out on great planes on deck
This is part of the INTREPID Sea, Space, and Air Museum, at New York Harbor. Since they want me to concentrate on the Space Shuttle Pavilion there, I won't go into the other things, other than to say: 1) you pay for the entire Museum so you'll see it all and 2) VETERANS: have proof you are a Vet. You get in FREE! That's fantastic, because the admission is not cheap. OK. Now to the space shuttle. The space shuttle ENTERPRISES is the "prototype" space shuttle, meaning that it was never on a space mission; it was used for testing. It was flown all over the place but never launched into space. Still, it allows you to get up close and personal with a shuttle, which is fantastic. It gives you an idea of the size of everything, being able to walk up to most of it and almost up to some of it. You'll learn how "Star Trek" fans started a grassroots movement to get the name of it changed to the ENTERPRISE! There are many interesting, educational, and informative displays to keep you there, engaged, and curious. Moreover, it's for all age groups, and . . . it's ADA-compliant, so even people with walking disabilities can get up to the shuttle-cockpit level. I recommend it as a "not-to-be-missed" attraction while in Manhattan.
My expectation were much higher. I was expecting a closer look inside the space shuttle, not even getting inside but at least a good view trough the cockpit windows and the cargo area.
A replica of the cockpit would be amazing
Pretty cool to see, wasn't super busy when we went so no lines, everyone was really friendly.
The space craft Enterprise of NASA on an incredible museum
Located on the deck of the USS Intrepid Museum the building houses the Space Shuttle Enterprise, along with a Soyuz capsule and many explanatory displays. The gift shop is quite well stocked. Admission is included in entry to the Intrepid.
So much cool stuff to see. If you grew up in the 80's and 90's, you'll totally appreciate this exhibit. Even the displays of Star Trek memorabilia explaning how The Enterprise got it's name was cool. Definite must see if you're touring New York.
Fantastic place to visit and hugely informative for adults and kids. New addition of VR experience (visiting ISS) takes it to another level.
Great value for money as part of the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier Museum
Great family activity with plenty activities for children and adults. Knowledgeable volunteers on hand to explain the exhibits. I was touched by the section on the Viet Nam conflict and the division it caused in The U.S.
Free with entry to the Intrepid museum. Up close and personal experience with the Enterprise space shuttle. The surrounding floor has interesting information about the history of the Enterprise space program.
Getting to see one of the actual space shuttles was awesome. The pavilion has a good amount of history and flow well. I think us adults liked it more than the kids since the shuttle stopped flying before they were born, but would recommend it regardless.
Beautiful experience in the intrepid go see for yourself
There are many interesting facts about the Space Shuttle project available here.
The collection of aircraft is very cool. But you need to pay a lot of extra fee's for attractions.
As an overseas visitor getting this close to the actual Enterprise is mind blowing. Great articles and exhibitions. Knowledgeable guides to enhance the experience all add to the visit.
Here I found out that the Shuttle will not fit on a semi truck. That thing is a beast.
Really liked it.
It's amazing to be under a space shuttle, it has 2 great amenities, the problem is the waiting time to enjoy them
How cool is this place! Veterans visit for free. Great place to learn about the Space Shuttle program.
If you're fan of the Space Progrsm you owe it to yourself to visit this amazing exhibit.
Being up close to a real space shuttle is amazing
Wonderful day at the Intrepid Air & Space exhibit and museum
Fantastic exhibit. Well presented by knowledgable and passionate staff. It really makes a difference. Tip: get a New York pass for everything. It is invaluable.
Was a little disappointed by the lack of access to the shuttle and the small enclosure limiting views but it was still an awe inspiring experience to be so close to such a massive piece of space history.
Awe inspiring moments walking next to the space shuttle Enterprise
Its amazing seeing how large an actual nasa shuttle is
It's awe-inspiring. You hear about the space shuttle and see images, but nothing compares to seeing it up close. They have an excellent setup for viewing and also good educational demos for kids - with some live interaction for kiddos. Most people can only view this stuff on their TV and computer. We are so fortunate to have access.
Walk under the space shuttle. You can see how big the landing gear. On the wall surrounding the shuttle, there are history about the space program. Great place to kids here.
It was thrilling to see an actual space shuttle hanging above us. There was a large exhibit about women in space. My ten year old daughter was inspired by this. We purchased the audio tour and the stories and details were captivating, even for my high-energy kids. Unforgettable experience.
Fantastic place to visit
Amazing! I didn't know it was that big. Go see!
Really amazing place. Shuttle gives great impression and even if this would be only place in museum it is worth to see.
Great place to visit. It is pricey! Avoid the cafeteria with long waits and expensive public school food. The space shuttle and submarine were amazing. Aviation fans will enjoy the jets, SST and the warrior. I took off a star for the cost. Not family or fixed income friendly. Get a good an cheap meal in Hell's kitchen before or after your visit.
The space shuttle pavilion for the Enterprise at the Intrepid Museum eclipses the experience with Discovery at the Udvar Hazy Museum in Northern Virginia. This exhibit had a large platform that you can climb so you can get a better view of the shuttle from the front. You can also hey- a better picture. They also have a few other exhibits that are engaging to younger Museum guests. Definitely worth taking the time to see while enjoying the test of the Intrepid museum.
A great place to catch up on wartime memorabilia and experience being on an aircraft carrier with war time aircraft.
Cool to see a space shuttle, but the enterprise never flew in space and you can't see the cockpit. Its hard to get a good view of it because it is in a building. Comes included with intrepid admission so no reason too skip it.
Our visit to the Intrepid Museum was wonderful. The hosts are very informative and polite. The interactive section was alot of fun. Overall it was a great experience.
A must see when visiting Intrepid..not every day you get to be this close to an iconic test vehicle. There are plenty of displays and back history on the role Enterprise played in the development of the space shuttle. If I have one small gripe it is that its rather dark inside the building. Makes getting that all important selfie with the main attraction a bit testing..that aside it's a rewarding experience.
Incredible array of aircraft and of course the best part was the space shuttle just sitting there making everything else seem so small in comparison. A lot of history on an amazing ship
Space shuttle Enterprise was kept there after removal from service in a big hall above the deck of aircraft carrier Interprid. You call view space shuttle and related information exhibited on the hall. In addition details of next shuttles with photos are displayed. Not only that demonstration are provided on screen on various aspects of space and earth.
It was very nice to be able to view a space shuttle up close. There was a large round orb that you could have an image of the Earth on and show things like temperature and storms. There was also a picture of a space shuttle in Central Park made out of Legos.
Excellent attraction at the USS Intrepid museum. Shuttle in the centre of a large space with many informative displays around the edge of this space. Large raised viewing platform at nose of the shuttle allows you a close up view.
It's the Enterprise, and therefore it rules. There are also some interesting artifacts around, including an old Soyuz capsule, which is even smaller than it appears. Since there is no extra charge beyond the Intrepid admission fee, it's a must see.
Super! So great to be up close to a shuttle. I like the exhibits as well, especially the Star Trek one.
Very beautiful place I would very much recommend, for hard-core star trek fans you should definitely go because its really nice to know some info. They have a huge space ship abd there are some activities you can try
Lots of interesting information about outer space and NASA's Shuttle Program.
If you or your family are interested in these things, it's well worth the price.
Otherwise, the only real 'photo-worthy' attraction is the shuttle itself
I absolutely loved it. Best part of my trip to New York was the Intrepid. And best part of the Intrepid was the space the space shuttle pavilion. Don't leave the big Apple without a visit to this place.
Mostly for kids. This shuttle never went into space. If you have seen another shuttle in Washington, LA, Florida or Houston I would skip this pavillion. If you have not see an actual shuttle I would recomend this however just so you can see how big the shuttle actially was.
Awesome place! Worth it every penny!
Hubby and I went here to spend a few hours while passing through town and ended up spending the whole day. We had a blast and time just slipped away from us. We really appreciated the complimentary military ticket too, thank you!
It's the Enterprise, it's awesome, but the hall could be better; the lighting isn't good for either viewing or photography, and despite the viewing plattform the angles you can actually view the shuttle is very limited. But still, it's a space shuttle!
Great seeing the Enterprise Space Shuttle
One word.... Amazing! It was jaw dropping to see an iconic vehicle of American Aeronautics and Space history so up close!!
Amazing!!! The real shuttle Enteprise exposed in all his magnificent appereance. A journey into space for alla ages, full of interesting things and news about space shuttle program. To be noted with space shuttle also the real soyuz from Russia another remarkable piece of space history
The pavilion was nice but the gift shop staff was really rude. They would not help me check out BC I did not purchase the photo. My daughter didn't get to buy the space necklace she wanted. The girl at the photo station was not willing to help us.
I literally got shivers walking up to the Enterprise. I wish they would let you get closer anD peer in. It's not like it's ever going to fly again. Staff is very enthusiastic.
A lot of space to walk around and get close and comfy with the space shuttle Enterprise. Lots of cool exhibits.
Great play to visit in New York City with family and friends.
M daughter loves space, bringing her here was like a dream come true for her
Great experience, if you love anything about space this is a must.
So many cool things to see there aboard USS Intrepid CV-11! Space Shuttle Enterprise would my very first thing to visit! She is a rising star of the NASA shuttle program!
You should stop in here if you have the time. Pretty cool things to see and experience. Easy access around the location for all levels of abilities. Not everything is wheelchair accessible but you can still see a lot.
Very impressive...we enjoyed the visit here, learned some interesting things. Good for the kids as well. The museum closed at 5 pm, which was a bit earlier than what we expected.
worth visiting to see the space shuttle. a little smaller than I expected but cool nonetheless. Kind of sucks that we couldn't go inside the shuttle.
So interesting and cool to see, you are able to get really close and get a good view of everything. Many great vantage points for photos, and so much information to take in.
Must seen if you into this. Kids will love it, gift shop is nice as well and not too pricey. 3h minimum for the visit and better to buy tickets online.
Awesome and upclose to a space shuttle
It was amazing to see it in person. The shuttle is huge. You can also see apolo capsules and the helicopters on the ship. There is so much to see.
Space shuttle with a deserving name.
Good place for see the part of the history. They have actual space ship "enterprice" which is amazing. Everything is well organized. I met one gentleman who actually work in the Interprid during WW II. He was volunteer there explaining in the navigation room. its amazing tosee how people contribute them self to community such ways as I am from the country where most corupted and treating our war heros realy bad after they finished the 30 years of terrorism.
Sho pieces include retired concord plain where you need seperate group bookings. And submarine Visit include in the ticket. its quit expensive but worth it. If you go online and book the ticket can find some deals always and NY citizens, veterans elderly have discount prices. If you visit in summer better to bring sunscreen and umbrella as you have to toeast in the sunlight for more than one hour most of the time for submarine visit.
I was expecting a bit more inside the pavillion, but together with the Star Trek exhibition there is more than you can see in a day. So an overall great experience.
Its incredible to see how far our desire has taken us.
Large variety of Greek products. However, their prices on most items are more than Mediterranean grocery store, which by the way has a larger variety of olives.
Titans creamy pastries are better, but have increase in price tremendously at a rate faster than the GW Bridge and tunnels. ... from 1.95 a slice in 2001 to 5.75 in 2019 - almost triple...it's now the price you find at a restaurant where it's served to you on a plate with glass of water, should be a lot less if you're taking it home to eat.
The orbiter is simply huge, and being able to get as close as you can here is really great. Could benefit from more interactive exhibits though.
Helpful staff and very impressive exhibit. Definitely worth a visit when on Intrepid
An awesome venue for a star wars themed educational night with the Upright Citizens Brigade. Talking primates and planets with the Head Scientist of NASA's Kepler program
Fun place to visit with your family
It's just awesome to see a space shuttle up close... This attraction does not disappoint!
The shuttle is awesome and huge, you can walk under it, see it very close, also they tell the space program history. Very cool.
The space ship is pretty cool, I highly recommend seeing it if you haven't already. Also there are amazing site to see other than that around the city.
Moderately interesting as an adjunct to the Intrepid museum. . Basic display of old space equipment, with a few interactive activities for children.
KSC is more immersive imo but still a phenomenal exhibit up close and personal, great info/artifacts presented throughout
Thankfully it was in a covered area as it was raining in our trip.
Very very cool place. A great way to spend a family weekend. There is something for every family member. The deck with all the ariplanes is pretty impressive
My whole family had an awesome experience getting a deeper insight into NASA's space program.
This place is inside or near the Intrepid Air and Space Museum. It's pretty cool. There's a space shuttle inside a large enclosure with an exhibit about the space program.
Well done - can see a Shuttle, the programs'history, and additional space crafts. However, wish we could go (or see) inside of it!
Although this particular shuttle never made it into space, this is still a pretty awesome to visit, well worth the money
Really fun for kids, especially for kids week. Highly recommended.
Good layout but not as good as nasa
It was Epic. I am a huge face of Space so it was really awesome to see. They even had a place where you do a simulation game.
The shuttle was amazing to see. The Air conditioning was the best part in these hot summer days!
Jaw dropping and amazing to get up close and personal with a space ship. Makes the mind think of all mankind has done in wonder.
Must visit , keep min 3 hrs spare time to enjoy actual models of war planes, helicopter, space shuttle and submarine from inside.
You only get to walk around the bottom of it, not inside any of it. And this one was never in Space. Neat but also very boring.
This is part of a museum, which is an Aircraft carrier. Apart from the shuttle there is a collection of American and Russian fighter aircraft on the flight deck, including a Blackbird spy plane.
Great place. Interesting and so informative.
Well kept area. Very informative.
It is a unique experience to stand right between the "Enterprise" space shuttle and a "Soyus mark six" space capsule.
Everyone should visit the Intrepid museum, it's fun, there's lots to see and do much history...I really enjoyed it!
It's very good.. Lot's of Learning..
Closeup view Shuttle exterior, some other exhibits. Best @ 10AM before it's get crowded.
Totally worth the extra couple of bucks. It's impossible to fathom just how big the Space Shuttle is until you see it in person.
Absolutely worth it, it's pretty awesome regardless of your age!
Phenomenal is the only word
Extremely interesting and nice exhibit! Definitely recommended to anyone who is interested in the space program.
An actual space shuttle (The Enterprise) is permanently station here. Enterprise was the test bed that was first to fly, but not actually travel into space.
Well worth it. The kids really enjoyed the museum and we can't wait to return.
So as it turns out, the Enterprise is a lot bigger than you expect. Every time I turned around to look at it, it surprised me with its size
If they offered the option to go inside the shuttle would have been amazing experience
Special museum
Very fascinating, discount tickets available at some hotels so check before you visit
An amazing experience with my family, I'm glad I finally saw this space shuttle
Great place , inside the interpid.
A must see. A great experience for children and adults.
Amazing to see a real space shuttle, even if this one never made it to space
You can see the original spacecraft here. Good for kids and whoever interested in space.
It is part of modern human history. An amazing flying machine that brought humanity lots of progress. Very educational.
Awesomely large! Wow
Great to see one of the only space shuttles - a shame you can't get a good topside view of it.
The space shuttle is bigger than I expected. It's great to go so close to it.
Great experience, very educational. You have to be 13 years old to experience some of the these, which may disappoint some kids.
Awesome museum ! Very nice to see some aircrafts on an original place: the USS Intrepid !
Just Awesome to see an actual real space craft. I LOVE IT! KIDS LOVE IT ALSO
I had so much fun there. The shuttle is so much bigger than i expected
Would have been even better to be able to see the shuttle inside.
Historic memories at the intrepid. We thank the USA for their brave service men and women.
Lots of great information and exhibitions
Nice place to see a space shuttle even it has no engines
Great experience! Unfortunatelly you can't get inside. Hope will be later
Space shuttle was really good
Excellent view and kept clean environment and service is good.
It's pretty cool to see. Unfortunately u can't go inside of it.
So much to see and learn about space shuttle missions. Highly recommended.
Great learning experience. Some small fun activities for the younger kids.
Wonderful display and exhibit.
I really enjoyed this place
Awesome segment of the museum, it will only take around 35 minutes to do it justice
For anyone even slightly interested in the space program, it's a must-see.
It’s a must. Absolutely a must if you’re interested in space or aircraft.
Extremely interesting educational one of a kind . Everytime i visit i learn something new
Loved it excellent place to see and feel history and the future.
Amazing! VR experiences were especially exciting.
Excellent, awesome seeing a shuttle up close and loads of info!
It's cool, but I thought there was going to be more space stuff.
Great experience! A must visit for the entire family
Well worth the visit, see just how big the Shuttle is
Cool museum, wish they had more things for toddlers.
Good
Really good collections with interesting facts to know for. Worth spending a day on it
Interesting but long waiting time for the virtual reality show.
Very enjoyable experience to visit such nice museum
Well worth the extra fare. Great for inspiring children.
Was here in 2012 when the space shuttle was brought down the Hudson, amazing to see
Awesome Musuem to visit when visiting NYC for all ages to learn & appreciate about history.
Get up and personal with the Space Shuttle. It also has several other exhibits related to space.
Great museum, especially for military history bluffs & kids.
It was so cool to see an actual shuttle!
Loved this place... great collection and very good experience
Excellent exhibit of the once famous space shuttle.
Nice place to visit if you haven't already.
Impressive but thought one could see the inside and was disappointed since that was not the case .
So fun great tour guides ask for the expensive tour
Very interesting. Good for kids.
I am a big Star Trek fan, so it was cool to on that was in space
It's the Enterprise for the love of Vulcan! What more do you need?
Definitely worth the extra to see the proper USS Enterprise
Incredible, how they get something that size into orbit!
Was great to experience this and see a real Space Shuttle.
My son love it here... He had a blasted
Definitely worth the add-on fee to the Intrepid museum.
Cool place to go with kids. Educational and fun.
What's not to like ? The actual Space Shuttle with history, etc. Bucket list !
Too bad one cannot enter the space shuttle cockpit.
Amazing place
Amazing that it flew in space. Incredible invention.
Enjoyed all the history and exhibits
Cool place to take the kids, a little pricey
A little disappointing. I thought you get to go inside the shuttle.
You should bring yourself too see GREAT America.
A lot to see and nice Star Trek section.
Good to get some info on space shuttle
So much fun for the kids and adults !

Space museum
educational
Space Shuttle Enterprise is much bigger in person than you think. Hard to believe such a thing led to the creation of the Space Shuttle Program
good location on top US Intrepid carrier, near Hudson river.
The museum is very entertaining and with many curious things to see such as the space shuttle, the submarine, planes, helicopters and being on the Intrepid as well as learning about its history. The truth is that without a doubt highly recommended!
It is impressive how big and immense the shuttle is as soon as you enter.
Then there are several stories and memorabilia of the time.
There is also a store here.
Excellent experience to be able to know a space shuttle and much better if it is inside New York City. The place is very complete and educational like the whole museum. I recommend visiting it in the morning.
I never realized how huge the space shuttle is. The piece on display here has never been in space, but it paved the way to this goal, so it is a piece of history and certainly worth seeing this place as well as the entire museum.
There's a piece of NASA history right in the heart of the Big Apple. The shuttle was built by NASA in the '70s. But, it never actually flew in space. Instead, it did hundreds of approach and landing test flights, and some of them took place in Houston. Which is why, when Enterprise was looking for a permanent home to be displayed for the public, many Houstonians thought their city should get the honor. But, the New York City was chosen instead and Houston has the replica.

It is well worth it and on top of that it is now free. The shuttle is huge and you can also see that it is built differently from normal planes. For children there is also a VR simulator that is very good.
Space Shuttle Enterprise, the first space shuttle built by NASA, is mainly used to test the problems that may be encountered during the operation of the space shuttle, so no engine parts are installed. As other space shuttles continued to be improved and built, the Enterprise continued to serve as a prototype test mission.
However, the advantage of not actually going into space is that the entire space shuttle has no signs of wear and tear. Even though it has been built for more than 35 years, the appearance is still as bright as new.
But it also allowed our country bumpkins to see the real space shuttle. It can only be said that knowledge has no limit, and it is necessary to learn a lot of new knowledge. 🧐🧐
Very nice and a lot of information. Sehr interessant. Man kann das Space Shuttle enterprise bewundern. Dazu gibt es Informationen rund um die Entwicklung. Kann nur im Zuge des Eintritts in Intrepid Museum besichtigt werden.
Bello, is located on the deck of the intrepid aircraft carrier and is included in the ticket price, it is a pavilion that contains the space shuttle Enterprise used for the tests of NASA's atmospheric flights, inside there is a collection of relics and mementos of the period and of the astronauts, as well as lots of interesting information and panels
Spectacular is an incredible place if you want to have fun with your family and children this place is super rewarding
To be on an aircraft carrier that was active until the 80's that includes planes, helicopters and a spaceship. And before you get on the ship, you visit the submarine.
Why not?
This is history.
However, only an external examination.
It is possible with children, but if you look at the aircraft carrier itself, on board of which the shuttle is located, and in total, then it is better without wheelchairs, military equipment was built without taking into account the disabled and children, which is quite logical.
Surprising and interesting museum. You have to see it.
The Space Shuttle STS was a partially reusable NASA spacecraft for low Earth orbit. Its name is derived from a 1969 plan for a reusable spacecraft system of which only the Shuttle was funded.
Maiden flight: April 12, 1981
Amazing !!! If you like planes, space and submarines, this is the place you have to go, you have a self-guide, everything is very well explained, it is to go from the moment it opens until it closes!!!
Very good.
A space shuttle is awesome.
Sehr eindrucksvoll.
Too bad you couldn't enter it.
Very good location, with an incredible variety of details.
Excellent!!!
I enjoyed this visit so much, when I expected nothing. It's fascinating ! It's a journey into the contemporary history of the United States
Impressive size "Buran"
Mostro, some attractions were closed but it is x the time
Incredible! It is historic and contemporary at the same time. Get ready to see up close, side by side, equipment used in WW2 and a space shuttle. During the visit, do not miss the opportunity to chat with the veterans who served on the aircraft carrier in combat, the reports given by them are exciting and exciting at the same time, just ask a simple question and a story comes in response.
Nice. It's not often that you can see a space shuttle up close.
It would be better if I could see inside. That would deserve 5 stars.
Without that, it seems like an expensive value for the ride.
The prototype of the shuttles in a conditioned Pavilion! Beautiful!
Seeing the Shuttle up close is an indescribable emotion. You feel a little immersed in the atmosphere of the well-known Armageddon movie. A must visit if you are in NYC.
Really cool, the shuttle is impressive and all but an hour in line for the mixed reality experience is a lot anyway ^^
While you are on the Intrepid a visit to the Space Shuttle Intrepid is a must! It is impressive to be in such close contact with a vehicle that has been in space.
A SPACE SHUTTLE, period I have nothing more to say. You enter the tent and you find him face to face, tears of emotion came to my eyes.
Nice to be in front of a historic ship, which gave way to a new era of ships and a big step to the new way of exploring space.
A museum built on an aircraft carrier.
On the upper annex is a display of old planes (even the Israeli Kfir)...
You can go up to the command bridge of the aircraft carrier and see where the ship's crew sleeps and eats and of course the instrument rooms and the command room... very interesting.
There is also the American spacecraft displayed inside a large building that also contains a space exhibit and an explanation of space.
Before leaving, you can enter an old submarine and get an impression of the building, the crowded interior rooms, the living conditions.
1st shuttle built. She has been in space 3 times.
The size is really impressive, you can't really see it on the pictures.
Seeing a space shuttle is obviously a unique moment, but we are left unsatisfied in the absence of explanations on the flights, takeoff, its missions, the configuration of the cabin and life on board, no explanatory films but a lot of merchandising : so very disappointing!
Nice experience to go only adults and better with children highly recommended
Tolles Rundumprogramm. Viel Interessantes um das Shuttle Programm. Die Enterprise, da nie wirklich im Einsatz, in tadellosem Zustand zum Anfassen.
Nice immersion in space !!! Really interesting .... even the submarine
For me, it was a wonderful experience to see and touch one of the symbols of cosmonautics. Nice exposure. The shuttle is really big...... I definitely recommend it......
Great museum. we learn a lot of things. we also see the challenger and the concorde there.... We spent 4 hours there.. A real real moment of pleasure
I went with my daughter and she loved it. It was also interesting and informative for me. I recommend to families with children.
An interesting pavilion with Interplays staff.
In the past, I was privileged to be able to attend a landing. And when you see this shuttle. Does that do me good
Great place for young and old. Aircraft carrier, concorde, space shuttle and submarine combined in one place on the banks of the Hudson. Can we dream better?
Please note that the shuttle is only a training and test model, it is a copy of the real Enterprise, it has not been in space!
Very interesting since you see parts of the history of this aircraft carrier of the submarine and the NASA ship the Enterprise very interesting
Wow.... Wann hat man schon die Chance ein space shuttle zu sehen? Toll gemacht, sehr interessant
The space shuttle is even bigger than I imagined!
Spectacular, a visit not to be missed. A story that marked us as a country.
