Reviews of Dr. Bob's Folk Art
Jody Harrison
Love this artist. Great shop. Glad to have a piece from this living local legend:)
Samantha Finnegan
Dr.Bob's abstract art made of repurposed materials are unique and vibrant. He has a wide selection and something for everyone. The only thing preventing me from giving him 5 stars was that his business is cash only and I had limited cash on me.
Dan Sorak
Funky and welcoming space full of Dr Bob's creative folk art. Almost all of the art was colorfully painted on wooden backing in a variety of shapes and sizes, adorned with wooden frames, and decorated with an assortment of bottle caps in Dr Bob's unique style! We stopped in for a quick visit and were met with a friendly smile and Dr Bob in the background working on new pieces of art as we browsed the completed ones. There were paintings of all sorts with caricaturized alligators, dogs, some of Bob's iconic sayings, and a variety of other subjects. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!

Just about the entire experience of New Orleans - noisy, colorful, and contradictory - is captured here in pieces of humorous, eccentric folk art. There’s a lot to see. There are artifacts and objects and paintings and statuettes and gew-gaws. The various items are small and large, cheap and expensive, vibrant and spirited, humorous and just plain odd. It’s all interesting and fun.

Very eclectic store. It's not a huge place but it is pretty cool! My son told me to stop in because he liked the artist's saying. It was fun just walking through it. And yes, I bought a piece for my kid.
Mabon Williford
Very unique local art. Worth going out of the way for. Located around the corner from a number of thrift shops, cafes, record stores, and the nicest park in the city.
Alex Turner
Neat local art. A little bit strange atmosphere, but I suppose that's part of the point. Got a neat painting and talked to Dr. Bob for a bit about some of his adventures.
Sabrina Dent
I love the artwork! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
Bart Majcher

Such an awesome art gallery, all of the art is repurposed. I truly wish I had more money set aside for art this trip.

Amazing place with so many unique pieces. If you're lucky, you'll have the opportunity to meet George the studio dog. He might bark when you arrive, but he is sweet and friendly. Dr. Bob might be there and he has plenty of local stories and he can share so many stories about the background of his art.
Olesya Altynbaeva
Pretty nice place. Authentic stuff. Cool vibes. I like the works, they truly represent the spirit of this region. Nice to grab one of those works of art if you enjoy the blues and jazz cultures. Love it!

Dr. Bob's artwork is a very recognizable piece of New Orleans - I was fortunate enough to meet Dr Bob on this visit, and listen to him speak about his art and his signs. Well that is cheap is New Orleans street art his pieces are unique especially when you look at the frames adorned with bottle caps and bright colors.

I work at one of the warehouses on the same lot as Bobs and he's a character y'all. I've bought two pieces of his art and I've donated one to a local church to help with a fundraiser they were having. Widely known, self taught artist and always a wide selection of art to choose from. Love this place.

Great shop, very unique and off the beaten path. Had the opportunity to meet Dr. Bob and his wife, they were exceedingly nice and welcoming and directed us to some awesome locals-only spots. Would recommend stopping in if you’re in the Bywater neighborhood.
