Reviews of American Swedish Institute

A superb place to visit for both Swedes & others alike! I'm only 8% Swedish, but was eager to look through all the artifacts. The mansion was decorated for Christmas 🎄 It was magical! The best piece of art, for me, was the stained glass knights. There was an incredible display of Scandinavian holiday table decorations for Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Sami and Hmong. Great gift shop, too!

An unexpected and pleasant gem in Minneapolis! I don’t know how the mansion is decorated the rest of the year, but they did a great job for the holidays. There are quite a few rooms to explore, so give it a fair amount of time!
We also stopped by the gift shop - which is a bit overpriced- and the café, which was good! The menu is small and simple, but the food is delicious! The service was a bit slow, and the servers seemed confused which table was which, but we all enjoyed the lunch we had and would recommend it to others.

Such a great place to visit. The mansion is amazing to walk through. There is a cafe that you can grab a bite or drink at. There is also a gift shop. The staff are friendly and the workers in the museum are knowledgeable of the house. There is a parking lot that is free to park at when you are visiting the museum.

Nice place to visit. $12 adult $6 student young kids free. They have a nice cafe, free parking, nice exhibition, gift shop, tours available, 1/2 hours visit.

Wow! We are so happy we visited ASI. It is a memorable visit for both parents and children. The gift shop, cafe, museum and children’s space are all incredible. Make sure to add this to your bucket list now!

Go for dinner, Thursday evening... great food and 1/2 price bottles of wine. Museum is free after 3 pm too! But, donate, it's worth it.

The museum/Mansion doesn't have much to do with Sweden besides having been built by American Swedish people and having some American/Swedish art, but still worth checking out! Also has full restaurant and nice gift shop.

I attended a two day conference here in May. The catering and staff were top-notch, and the space was warm and inviting. The mansion was so intriguing and totally worth the visit.

We did the tour of the mansion. It is really cool to see all the history and culture. They could definitely use more plaques though. I kept wondering "what was this room originally ". It would have been cool to understand the original purpose and use for the space.

First time visitors. We came specifically for the Kindertransport exhibit and were impressed by it and the museum as a whole. It’s a beautiful facility, both the mansion and the beer part. The cafe food looked amazing. Loved the courtyard and kids activities. Nice local gift shop too. Overall well worth a visit.
