A small but fun-filled aviation museum. I learned that the old passenger terminal of Manchester Airport was relocated and the building is this museum. The guides are also very kind and you can learn valuable experiences. There is also a room where you can experience flying an airplane on a computer, which you can enjoy while viewing the exhibits. If the number of visitors increases, there is a possibility that the museum will be open on weekdays, so I would like to expect that.

For a high school field trip, we recently visited the museum to explore the 'How Airplanes Fly' educational workshop as well as to discuss career opportunities within the Aviation field. The Physics class as well as some other students interested in Aviation, enjoyed the classroom workshop, Aviation bingo game and fantastic tour. Debbora did an amazing job tailoring our visit to the high school age level. She is most knowledgable and passionate about Aviation and it shows. I'd also like to mention that all the staff members/tour guides that we met, were kind and patient with the students. Thank you all for a great visit!

This is a small museum housed in an old historic building at the Manchester Airport in Londonderry. I'll be honest, this isn't the Smithsonian. If you're hoping to see tons of fully assembled aircraft, they don't have this here. They only have two small old planes, but they do have a lot of other interesting artifacts. The big sellers are a real commercial plane cockpit that people are allowed to get in. The kids love it! Also, their flight Sim machine. Super neat! The guides at this museum are extremely knowledgeable and passionate. Ask them anything. They're great with kids and even have a Lego table where kids can build their own planes, and some airplane toys that they are allowed to touch. Overall, small but fun and informative.

Interesting history of Manchester Airport and the stories of the people from New Hampshire related to aviation. The people who work there were all friendly and full of information. The parking lot has a good view of planes departing and arriving at the airport. However, Sunday is a slower day for plane activity. Seniors discount is $5 for 65 and older.

The front section of the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire is housed in the original Manchester Airport terminal building. This Art Deco terminal was built in 1937. In 2004, the terminal was moved to its present location. A large addition in the back houses the museum exhibits. In addition, there is a class/meeting room and the Slusser Aviation Lending Library for museum members.
The museum’s mission is preserving the rich history of New Hampshire aviation. I believe they have done a fine job meeting their goal.
Jim gave me a tour of the museum. He introduced me to the many exhibits and historical artifacts preserved here. In addition, he discussed some of the other activities the museum is involved with. Of particular interest is a program in which the museum has teamed with the Manchester School of Technology High School (MST) and Tango Flight, an educational non-profit corporation. This program will give a team of MST students the opportunity to assemble an actual, FAA certified two seat airplane.
After my tour, I went back to examine the exhibits in greater detail and take a few pictures. There is a lot of history preserved here. From the evolution of the airport itself to the historical events that have taken place in New Hampshire over the years.
This was a very enjoyable visit. Worth a stop.

Really great place for children, the staff was awesome! They took time with the kids, gave them a tour and scavenger hunt of the whole place and had a craft ready for them! They were very informative, patient and made the experience great! Awesome way to spend an afternoon! Both fun and educational! Also the planes landing and departing right outside was a cool aspect for the kids to experience!
Stan Glotov
Exceeded my expectations! Bigger than the way it looks outside, very interesting with lots of airplane/aviation history and even airplane/parts of airplanes inside! Worth visit and $10 per adult. Lots of interesting and cool things inside. We even had a tour guide us through it, which was very helpful and interesting. Learned a lot and glad we have such cool museum!

Stopped in at the museum today 2/12/23 to check out the museum and catch some plane activity on the runway. Decided to have a tour and what atreat- Tom showed my wife and I around. So much history and knowledge, why the airport was built is really interesting display of human behavior (I will save story for when you go) the original tower for the airport is very cool to see. There are some vintage aircraft each with local history, makes it so interesting. Super exciting for kids with all kinds of interactive things for the kidos.
Young or old there is something for everyone. It is small but worthy of the trip and the cost to enter is a real value.
Thanks Tom you made it special.

Deb came and presented to all of our 6th grade students about the forces flight. The presentation was educational and engaging for all of the students. They couldn't wait to ask questions while learning about Newton's laws and flying. We can't wait to have her back next year for a new batch of students.

Small museum located in the original air terminal for Manchester Airport. I was given a tour by two men. The first was the executive director of the museum. When I told him I learned of the museum and it's special display through the Hippo 🦛 Press 🗞️ newspaper, he told me he worked for the newspaper 📰 before working for the museum. He took me on a tour explaining that the museum is trying to encourage students to enter the field of aeronautics and one way was having students actually assemble an airplane. They hope to finish the airplane and actually sell it. proceeds from the sale will go to buy another kit to build one of the airplane. The planes are inspected for safety.
The second man took me through the rest of the building 🏫 and showed me the displays and donated toys and models. A number of models were built by a former Tuskegee airman. We came to a documentary that even he didn't see about the Chicago air shows of 1929-31. Both our eyes bugged out of our head when we saw old news footage of a plane crash were the pilot was killed. Toys were demonstrated and I pointed out the names of the Star Wars ships he didn't know. He did know about the subject matter about WW2 and the Battle of Britain.
You can see the tire of a bomber that was found in Fremont after the bomber crashed. Or a fighter's canopy used as a sled. Neil Armstrong has a section dedicated to him.
The flight 🛫 simulator and cockpit are closed 🔒 due to Covid-19.
A real time display of when planes are landing 🛬 or taking off is in the classroom. Gift shop near the exit.
The display of toys and Christmas decorations is on till this Sunday. I hope you can go.
Great view of the airport. It may not interest everyone, but, I enjoy history so I had a good time.
If you enjoy history, give the place a try. It won't take long to explore. Facemasks required.
Rebecca Inglis
Chris who was our tour guide was amazing. He told us many stories of aviation history. He kept all three of our children's ears perked by all the history knowledge he shared. It was a fantastic family day spent. Thank you so much Chris.
Riley Wiebe
My family and I visited the museum today, and it was wonderful! The tour guides are all so kind and informative. We were able to fly the flight simulator which was awesome, too! Highly recommend going :)
Lindsay Migala
Volunteers are great, we really enjoyed our visit. The simulator was our 11-year-olds favorite part. We went at like 2:30ish and no one else was there
Chuck Paone
This is a hidden gem off the hustle and bustle of Manchester. Great history musuem of NH place in Aviation history in the reclaimed art deco original airport terminal. Covid protocols are in place limiting visitors to 24 maximum at a time, credit only payment and temperature checks required for entry.

They all have great story's also. It's more of a learning experience, then a see a bunch of stuff place. I'll take my friends when covid Is over.

The museum itself has some cool stuff but I frequent the observation area/parking lot. It is a nice spot to park for a bit and have a think, or just look at some airplanes take off and landing.
Aaron Clow
Wonderful volunteers who are a wealth of knowledge. This was a fantastic place to visit on a weekend afternoon.
Colin Fletcher
Favorite Place in Manchester/Londonderry. If you love aviation the observation point and the museum are two amazing things to visit. I come every morning with my coffee to watch takeoffs. The museum is staffed with very knowledgeable pilots, vets, and general amazing people. 100/5 stars
David David
It was full of kids with their parents on a Sunday, guided by the museum's volunteers. The museum is small but full of interesting artifacts in local and national air flight history, plus it has a computerized flight trainer that kids can try with the help of one of the guides. So great for a kid to try flying.
Rocco Rampino
A great way to spend the afternoon! There's a lot of local history here.
Chris Sheehy
A gem of a museum! Tom was our guide; and amazed and entertained us with his aviation knowledge and connection to history and the many local people who made history happen.
Jessica English
We stumbled upon this place one day when parking to watch air planes land and take off with my husband and son! It was a very informative and interesting museum. It looked small from the outside but it was packed with a lot of awesome stuff on the inside!!!
Nathan Jansen
Great staff! My girlfriend and I were trying to find something to do and we came upon this museum. The staff greeted us and began our tour right away. They were very informative and passionate about aviation, the history of the building, and every piece of aircraft within the walls had a tale that they were able to tell. 10/10 would go there again!
Samantha H
This place is a HIDDEN GEM! Such a great place to bring kids. Each group gets a tour guide - Dennis gave us an amazingly informative and entertaining tour today. Recommend to any age. Great gift shop too!

Cute little museum at the airport observatory. Went with my partner who is in the industry and he just loved it. It was really cool to get the chance to visit. They do a nice little personalized tour and there are things for kids like a cockpit they can climb through, Legos, and wooden airport blocks they can create a scene with.
Arthur LaCroix

Great little museum! I learned a lot about New Hampshire! I hadn't realized just how much aviation history we have. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The exhibits were educational yet engaging. We went on free museum day, but I'll happily pay the fairly low fee to go again!
Mary Ellen Wessels
Small, but very nice! Full of things to look at, and some hands on for kids (and adults.- try the stunt pilot VR ride along :) The best thing though are the fabulous docents who seem to have all served and are pilots and know a TON! They will cheerfully answer all your questions. A tiny gift store too with a nice collection of books and DVDs along with more touristy stuff. :) cheap, friendly, free & easy parking... what's not to love!
Guy Bashkansky
A perfect little aviation museum. The guide Ken was super friendly and knowledgeable, an old combat pilot. An experience well worth the side trip.
Michael Gignac
Fantastic experience. Worth the time. Brian, our guide, was very informative with the history of avionics and is relativeness to New Hampshire. After the tour you are free to walk around and view the artifacts. There are interactive displays, a plane for kids to sit in with controls and a radio to the tower so they pretend to fly.
Kelley Muir
Great little museum to learn about the history of aviation in New Hampshire. Volunteers gave us a great tour and really kept the kids engaged with a scavenger hunt!
Albert Lin
A really cool museum and my 7-year old daughter loved it. It has an inside cockpit of a plane that kids (and adults) can fiddle with and several simulators if you like crashing into the ground. The caretakers/guides are friendly and have personal aviation experience. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend you swing by as it's free for kids and only $5 for adults.
Laura B
What a hidden gem!! This little museum was small however the gentlemen Veterans working inside make it worth your time. You can tell they completely enjoy what they do at the museum. Tom gave us a tour and told.us the history behind everything in the museum and Dan picked up where Tom left off to make sure my son had a chance on the flight simulator. If you are looking for a huge museum with tons of bells and whistles this may not be it. This is full of charm, lots of planes models, pictures, a cockpit you can sit it etc and a small gift shop. It's also next to the Manchester airport so you can watch the planes take off.
Christina Levitan
Family favorite place to go. Even when they are not open, we enjoy watching the planes from their parking lot. It really is so beautiful and informative. If you have never gone, try to come here because it is so worth the trip!

This is a small museum full of amazing things! You can fly a real flight simulator, see the top-secret bomb targeting device, build an airplane with legos, see planes landing and taking off out of the museum window, and (most importantly!) meet the great guides of the museum! Robert, former P-3 Navy pilot (!), spent lots of time to give us a very interesting tour. Robert: we had wonderful time, and it was a pleasure to meet you! Great place to visit for an aviation enthusiast of any age!
