Reviews of Ronald Reagan Presidential Library
My wife and were in the Los Angeles area recently and we decided to go and visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. I always considered Ronald Reagan as on of the greatest Commander in Chief we have ever had. The Library locations is just beautiful and understand why they picked this place to build it. Great views, nice people and a great testament to a great leader. We had a great time. We are now members !
We hadn’t been to the Reagan Library for a few years. It was nice to return. All of the docents are very helpful and friendly. In addition to their regular impressive historical displays, they had the World War 2 Exhibit which was was so moving and large. There are multiple displays on two floors. There was so much to see. Not to mention the outside views were beautiful. Cannot wait to go back!
This museum is fantastic! A lot of history of Reagan and his legacy. An Air Force One is on display inside and an F-14Tomcat on display outside. I lucked out and got to enjoy a WW2 exhibit on display when I visited. This place is huge and you will definitively get plenty of walking in. The staff is friendly and gift shop has plenty to choose from. Admission was not expensive. They have several photo pass type areas that was a nice add in for the whole experience. I had a great time here and would highly suggest it to others.
Anyone interested in Reagan, his presidency, or American history won't be disappointed. We especially enjoyed the views and the Air Force 1 exhibit. Parking was no problem and we got our tickets online ahead of time.
This library is one of the best in America. It is close to LA and worth a visit if you're in the area. For those who aren't familiar with Reagan, the library showcases how great a president he was. The ability to go into Air Force One is something that you'll never forget. Be sure to grab some of the signature Reagan jelly beans on your way out through the gift shop.
I could feel how one person lives. There were many stories about him and also had enjoyable displays which could participate with child too. The whole concept is connected with souvenir too. Curators have a pretty good job and I am happy to see how they love this place. I also love to get photo infront of the helicopter and air plane which he was usually using. Everything was so perfect for me... so memorable for us🥰
Second time visiting this beautiful library. We wanted to visit the WW2 exhibit and it did not disappoint. The staff here is always friendly and informative. I would give yourself at least 2 hours to walk thru everything. Stop and get a snack at the cafe and enjoy the absolutely breathtaking views. And visit the gift shop to buy a package of jelly beans ( you will know why after visiting the library )
I highly recommend stopping here. I've been trying to make it here for years, and finally did; this Presidential Library is amazing. I took a lot of amazing photographs highly this location. President Reagan and First Lady Nancy's gravesite are on the premises. There are a lot of historical items here as well. There is a restaurant on site, "The Gippers", delicious food. Plenty of parking, handicapped accessible. Plenty of bathrooms spaced around the museum. I would definitely like to go here again.
It's a beautiful place. We attended for the WWII exhibition. I was there to learn Nancy's secrets. They didn't talk about it though. Staff was nice and informative. I know my presence there was alarming to some of them and the guest. Lots of *OH* faces. 1 star off because of the dude following us around in the gift shop.😂😂😂😂 Bro, we aren't stealing the coffee cups. There was definitely a *vibe* in there, which I expected. My kid loves WWII memorabilia and the exhibition was really good. We enjoyed ourselves.
Went to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library for Father's Day. Beautiful facility inside and out with lots of information and things to see. Enjoyed a delicious lunch in the Air Force One Cafe. They had a World War II special exhibition that was well put together. Definitely recommend to visit.
I was impressed with the historical insight regarding America's 40th president. I was fascinated by the personal insights and mementos presented at this archival library and museum from Ronald Reagan's childhood, his career as a Hollywood actor during American cinema's golden age, his tenure as California state governor, his experiences as president, and the legacy he left behind.
The highlights of my visit at this presidential library is wandering inside the actual Air Force One that Reagan used during his presidency, seeing a section of the Berlin Wall that Reagan was vocal in tearing down, and a replica of the Oval Office circa the 1980s.
This institution rests on hilltop with a panoramic view overlooking Simi Valley. Reagan is also laid to rest here. No matter what ones political affiliation is, one does leave this place with a strong sense of American patriotism.
The museum and grounds are nice to explore and not too busy on a Sunday. You can explore the insides of his Air Force One and Marine One. There is a restaurant with a decent selection towards the end. During the holidays, there is a Christmas tree display at the end of the tour.
We made extra travel plans to visit here, and the extra driving was well worth it. We enjoyed the knowledge and excitement of the staff at many of the exhibits. AirForce-1 and Marine-1 overlooking the valley are really cool.
It was a wonderful visit. I appreciate the way it started from President Reagen as a young man all the way up to his death. Which made me cry because of the pictures of the first lady. Ooh it was so sad. I love how you can walk through air force one ( retired) and marine one also (retired). It was very cool
Spent the Day at Ronald Reagan Museum
From the moment you walk in your greeted by a staff that enjoys their job and loves history. Most of all our 40th President.
Ronald Reagan was an icon... From famous actor to 2 term California Governor. 2 term President.
Museum takes you through his youth to his final days.
Reagan was all about the country and serving the citizens of the country.
He flew the most of any President being the ambassador of Peace through Strength.
Must see to relive our history. Most of all too experience one the most beloved Presidents of our time.
Bucket list of many..... 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wonderful place to visit if you’re interested in the history and life of our 40th President! The grounds are very beautiful and the staff were exceptionally nice and friendly. They have a replica of the Oval Office during his time in office. You also have a chance to visit their gravesite as he and Mrs. Regan were buried on site. The museum itself is beautiful and the airplane hangar with replicas of Air Force One and Marine One are excellent as well. Definitely worth a visit regardless of your political views!
Review for April 26th 2022. The Ronald Reagan Presidential library is located in Simi Valley california. It is a very well taken care of museum. There is so many original artifacts including Air Force One that are authentic. There is just so much to see here. This month of april, they have a special exhibit which is the world war II exhibit. There is so much influence that President Ronald Reagan had in the United States of America as well as the whole world. This was definitely an excellent experience, the staff here are exceptionally great. From the moment I entered I was greeted with the warm welcome. I definitely recommend this place for anyone to come and visit and check out the Ronald Reagan presidential library.
Had an amazing time here, and learned a great deal. My only regret is I didn't have more time to see everything again. The Airforce One walk through is a once in a lifetime experience, and makes the trip worth it by itself. From the driveway to the exit this is a living library that makes you appreciate the history and legacy of our 40th president.
Honestly, wow. We got to walk through Air Force One! So much to see. Being from Australia, we didn't get all the American presidental nuances but we did absorb what we could. We didn't know what to expect when visiting here, but really glad we did! The Berlin Wall was especially special as I have visited Berlin and the wall during my time in Europe.
Wonderful wealth of knowledge on history, politics, and countless meaningful special engagements. The staff members are passionate and friendly every time we attend a gathering here. Looking forward to ma y more trips - always a pleasure!
Best Presidential museum in the US. Great docents - very friendly and informative. Picturesque location. Picnic areas to have lunch outside. Ease of access via 118. Current WW2 exhibit is amazing.
Definitely worth a visit if you are interested in American history. This exhibit has interesting details and stories about Reagan’s life. And what a full life he led! Loved Air Force One and Marine One. There was a photo package for $50. You can buy tickets online or there and parking is free.
First time visiting. Very nice and educational museum. The staff was friendly and professional. We enjoyed our lunch out on the patio though food was a little pricey. Enjoyed the pavilion where Air Force One and Marine are located. Would go again.
In a word - impressive! A full embodiment of the man, the woman, and legacy. A tour into the past's noteworthy events. For those who immerse and absorb, allow for at least three hours. Military enter free.
It is a presidential library. We enjoyed the FBI exhibit. The web page for the library recommended 3-4 hours to see the library. They were not joking!! We were there over 4 hours. We read most of the info. Looked at all the objects. Walked through the plane and helicopter. Saw all of the trees!! Even if you’re not inclined to think ketchup is a fruit for school lunches, it’s still an interesting walk through time. I also recommend the annual pass for the family. For the price of 1 day you’ll have the year to check out this and other presidential libraries.
Way worth the admission price. Property is large and spotless. Regardless of your politics this is a memorial fit for one of the most impactful presidents.
Great place to visit. Many interesting items present including an old Airforce 1 jet and Presidential Helicopter. Cafe and restrooms available. Elevators for those who struggle with mobility as its over 3 floors.
This is one of the best presidential libraries I have visited. Free to military as all of them are. Plenty of parking and a lot to see. The grounds are awesome and you go through Reagans Airforce one and Marine 1. Great history guide through his early life to his final days.
It's understandable why Reagan is buried here. The location is absolutely beautiful. The library is rich with history and even has an Air Force One that you can tour. I've visited several presidential libraries and this is easily one of my favorites!
Beautiful day here. First time visit for my husband. He said, his 3 favorite men are his father, God and Ronald Reagan. Everyone must come visit the library. America at its best.
Today was Presidents Day which was celebrated at the Library. The USAF band planned nice toons with lots of family interactive things to do.
For anyone who has never visited the Library I strongly suggest you do. There is a VAST selection of memorabilia about Pres. Reagan from his early school years to adulthood as well as lots of memorabilia from Nancy Reagan. Pres. Reagans Air Force One is also house inside along with Marine One. This library is amazing. You can come up close to a F117 Night Hawk as well as a F-14 Tomcat and M1 ABRAMS Tank.
Also at the Library is a restaurant. I've atw at the restaurant many times, I've never been disappointed in the food.
Today we ordered a hamburger, pulled pork sandwich and onion rings and fries.
The Hamburger was pretty good. The Onion Rings amd Fries were addicting.
This self guided tour of the Library will take at least four hours. Also keep in mind, the Library also has special engagements. Guest speakers of high notoriety and displays. In March they will have artifacts from Auschwitz concentration camp.
This was my first trip to the Reagan Presidential Library. Parking was easy and we were able to park relatively close to the gardens. The landscape was beautiful and the architecture adds to the beauty (versus dominating it). The temporary FBI exhibit was extensive and I feel like that should have been a good 2-3 hour tour. The Ronald Reagan exhibits followed the president from his youth to his death. My favorite exhibits were his handwritten speeches and journal … although Air Force One and Marine One were close seconds. The docents were very knowledgeable, professional, and polite. This was a great trip!
Amazing views and experience of California's last politician who was worth a damn. Motorcade and airforce one was interesting. Saw the WW2 exhibit while we were there. Be sure to visit Ron and Nancy's graveside m
There isn't an actual library that we could see but it's kinda pricey to get in. The ww2 part of the museum was amazing. Kid friendly
Nice place to explore, It's all presented very nicely. There's so much information about Reagan's life starting from his childhood, his college life, Hollywood until you get to his political life. There's a well done replica of the Oval Office, you also have the opportunity to get into the Airforce One!
Do not forget to have a little break admiring the stunning view of the valley...
Great to see the exhibits and history. I've been to 4-5 presidential libraries, this is the best so far.
Always interesting to visit, especially the current (temporary) WWII exhibit. There were numerous artifacts and posters illuminating less known facts about the Second World War. A must see for any WWII history buff. I really enjoyed it.
This place has been in our backyard for years but havent visited until recently. Wow we thought we could get though it in a couple of hours...nope, took us literally over 3.5 hours and it felt a little rushed. There's so much to see and read. Amazing exhibits from FBI exhibit, to Unabomber's replica cabin to Bonnie and Clyde's bullet ridden getaway car (They didn't get away). Of course, dont forget Air Force One, which by the way, they all know you are trying to get to, you may get directions before you even ask!!!
What an awesome place. So much history, and cool displays. Don't miss the Air Force One exhibit. Getting to walk through the same plane that served 7 presidents is very special.
Great place to visit. It's nice to see how the president's memory has been kept alive
I loved my visit! This place is a real gem. Walking inside the Air Force One was absolutely exiting. The museum is a time machine that brings you back. It's emotional and Patriotic. People that work there are amazing. We enjoyed a tasty lunch, the Gift shop is beautiful. We also enjoyed the WWII exhibition. I became a member because one visit is not enough.
Spent over five hours here, immersed in a history lesson which extended well beyond just the Reagan White House years. Each area is well arranged and varies from the one before. Have a hanky for the funeral section.
Never thought I would spend 5hrs in a Museum or Libary without knowing it, was actually too short. The location is beautiful, the history in here is one of a kind. The elegant dresses and jewelry collection that Nancy used to wear. I actually bought a replica of earing and a necklace that she used to wear that is in display here. The video of Ronald Reagan speech of bring the wall down, and the statue of Regan and Gorbachev discussing nuclear arms reduction. Ronald Regan's suit in showcase when he got shot, Airforce, the real thing.. and you get to go in and really experience what it feels to be there. Can't say enough but I can tell you that you will love every bit of history here. The most impressive thing here was that the parking was full and everyone visiting were from out of state. We should take advantage that we are here and it's not expensive to come here. And at the end, you can enjoy the beautiful view with a nice glass of wine.
Fantastic library! There are always so many different exhibits here at this library. We saw the Christmas exhibit and it was nice, but nothing really big. Coming up this winter there will be an Auschwitz exhibit that looks to be extremely interesting. This is a fantastic library for a tremendous president. Definitely worth a visit! Where else would you be able to tour an old Air Force one?
A well done library very dignified but with a sense of fun. Interesting way the history is blended with the personality of the president. Events of the day are portrayed in an interesting and logical manner. With a nod to the office more than to the individual. The location is dramatic and beautiful. Easy to find. His love of California horses Nancy and the country is shown nicely none of the nicest of the libraries
Fantastic location. Great staff. Magnificent exhibits. Lot of souvenirs
We went to the Christmas tree exhibit. Super fun. I've been to the Reagan Library 3x now and think it is such a great presidential Library.
Very interesting history...very friendly staff..nice location...well kept grounds...great history...
I was surprised by the oval office recreation...and you get to go inside the Airforce One Jet !...Boeing 707...
Didn't mind the political spin too much...ha ha .
It is the Reagan Library after all...
Rich in historical artifacts. The WWII sercerts of war exabition was amazing. I would strongly recommend to visit.
Had the most wonderful time here. It's a great place to spend your weekend.
Really enjoyed the wine event they put together for $70 per person. The event was 6-9 pm with the museum open from 5-7 pm; it was really nice being able to tour the museum after hours. The food was delicious, the setting was nice (not too fancy, not too casual), and there was live music. Definitely would do this again.
Very interesting. I remember the hopes of Ronald Reagan's presidency behind the Iron Curtain in the early 1980s
Super awesome place to visit. The guides were very informative & helpful. Provided detail information of President Reagan's life story. The new exhibit was extraordinary.( Auschwitz) Had lunch at the Air Force One & the food was excellent. Looking forward to revisiting in the near future.
A must visit stop while in L.A. Will bring you great memories of important events in our history.
I visited during Halloween and I basically had the place to myself! Not sure how rare this was, but thought I would mention it. Being inside Airforce 1 was quite the treat! Definitely worth the visit. If you are in a rush, you can spend 2 hrs and get a good feeling for the main exhibits. Parking is free.
My family spent a few hours here as part of a Christmas gift from my parents and we had a great time revisiting the presidential accomplishments of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. The library is so beautiful and filled with so many great exhibits. I'm glad I finally got to go and experience this with my family and young children.
My wife and I always enjoy visiting the Library, as it was our very first place for a nice date, 5 years ago. At the time we first met I just so happened to see tickets to the Library for The Vatican Splendors Exhibit at Costco. It was beautiful and it started off Our Relationship which has lasted 3 years and counting…. We look forward now as members and going back more frequently as the exhibits change. Soon to be opened exhibit is FBI themed. We can’t wait to return.
There’s many things to look and marvel at in the permanent gallery’s inside and the vehicles and monuments outside.
We paid Our Respect’s to Our Late Dear President Ronald & Nancy Reagan laid to rest outside the Library.
It’s a great experience for Young to Old…. I wish I had taken my Late Father to the Library when they had the Older Spy Exhibit. This place is a must see for All Veterans. 🇺🇸🦅
Freaking huge museum with a ton of things to see. Helpful and friendly staff with reasonable pricing. At the end you are met with great food and a soft drink (or beer) or your choice. The cheese burger was definitely my favorite.
By far the best presidential museum, and one of the best museums in general.
Visited the Library with my wife and life time member. Much of the presentations I recognized. I was there in most cases. The fall of the Berlin Wall, Visit of Mr. Regan to Berlin, Interesting was the innards of the statically mounted Air Force ONE. I recognized the missing Communications components. Some Exhibitions were hard to take, after living thru the experiences.
Took a friend up there just to see the grounds, she was amazed at the beauty up there.
Look, if you think you can see all the things in less than 2 hours, don’t even bother. I set aside 4 hours and felt like I rushed through it a bit in parts. Seriously though, plan on spanking a good 5/6 hours here, as when I went some of the things were still out of operation.
Lots of history, which was the reason I went. I also have a thing for stamping passport books, such as the presidential library one and the national park one I have as well.
My husband's lifelong dream had been to visit the museum and it did not disappoint. From boarding Air Force one to the temporary exhibit about the FBI and all the video exhibits we enjoyed every minute of it. It was worth the two hours drive for us and he talked about it for weeks.
Went here twice when I was working the the Los Angeles area and could not get enough. I am an immigrant to America from Australia, I am very grateful to be here in America and I admire Ronald Reagan very much. I remember him as President in the 80's when I was young and the great things he did for the world. The library details much of his legacy and what he did as President, what I also enjoyed was learning a lot more about his past, I knew he was an actor of course, but his public speaking and his life with Nancy which is a true love story which is what this world needs more of in my humble opinion. Visiting the Ronald Reagan library was one of the most important items off my bucket list. Highly recommended and will not disappoint.
The museum was teeming with propaganda. Nothing less than I would expect. I went so my leftist friends don't have to. It was hilarious, like it was curated by Fox News. No mention of funding death squads or the AIDS or crack epidemic, or race, for that matter. Reagan made America great again, and that's all you need to know. This part of the museum was funded by T Boone Pickens and other Reagan loving rich benefactors who got their taxes slashed by him.
However, Air Force One makes it worth the trip. Yes, it's the actual plane, retired in 2001, and you're invited to walk inside. It's the one part of the museum that is faithful to Truman's original vision for the Presidential Library. I work in transportation, so I found this part extraordinarily fascinating.
A great place to explore. There's so much information about Reagan's early childhood, his college life, meeting Nancy, working in radio and Hollywood all the way to his political life. It's all presented very nicely.
There's a replica of the Oval Office as it was decorated during his presidency, a presidential press podium, airforce one and marine one.
There is a separate exhibit (included) on ancient Egypt, which is very interesting. Outside are some F14 fighters from The Black Ace Squadron too.
Don't forget to have a nibble at the cafe, which has stunning views of the valley.
To whom it may concern. I was imbibing in the White House dining etiquette quiz in the museum wing highlighting the beauty and high lifestyle of Nancy Reagan. However when taking the quiz with my other party members, we discovered a glaring error on the quiz that throws the whole exhibit into complete disarray and raises mistrust. The question about the wine glass sizes is so incorrect that I can’t even believe it is featured in an otherwise wonderful exhibit. The erroneous question claims that the smallest wine glass is for white wine. This is so incorrect that Cindy Haywood would have turned in her grave, if she had passed. Now, Cindy is very much alive. However the quiz question in question doesn’t even consider the possibility that Sherry or Port wine may be served at dinner. And often in a glass much smaller than white wine. Good day to you sirs! I will update this review to 5 stars when rectified.
EDIT: Weeks have gone by without a response from the library. Ridiculous. Put me on the phone with Nancy.
EDIT2: Thank you kindly. I have now joined as a member due to your thoughtful response as well as restoring my rating to the proper five stars.
The Reagan Library sits on top of a hill with stunning views of the Simi Valley. The Reagan Library is unique and much, much more than a Library with a few displays. It is an immersive experience you have to check out for yourself. We spent 3 hours there and had a tasty lunch on site.
I was awe inspired the second I started driving up the road to this place. I did not know what to expect and the more I walked through the exhibit the more star stuck I became. First things first though, there is a tall lady with short blond hair that works in the gift shop. She deserves a raise. I loved her haircut and she was so helpful and above par in niceness. This place is a fountain of knowledge on a president I really didn't know much about. My respect for Reagan and Nancy is through the roof, even if people say this place is biased and does not show the bad parts of the president and his wife. This museum should be a field trip for all students. To go into the actual air force one.. I could not believe my eyes! I am a big fan of airplanes and to be where history was. That's an experience and a feeling beyond words. I can't say enough about the staff and how friendly they are.
Staff is very helpful everyone is friendly and what great displays they have. Let the museum.
Beautiful venue, breathtaking view, secured, well maintained facility. Have lots of learning opportunity and numerous fun facts throughout the museum. Well worth the visit.
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, located at 40 Presidential Dr, Simi Valley, CA 93065, United States, was a humbling experience. I was scolded for enjoying my Subway™ meal in the recreation of the oval office, and both me and my sandwich were educated on the fierce rivalry President Reagan had with Johnathan Norman Subway™, and his preference for Michael of New Jersey's 'Jersey Mike's'. Following this, I continued to eat my Subway™ instead at the grave of President Reagan, and received no further backlash. Intriguing!
Very interesting place, with hundreds of relics from reagen’s presidency as well as my favorite part, the F117 and F14
It was an honor to learn a story about such a wonderful leader who was humble and who believed in God. Especially his words/notes that he always used to inspire will always cherish for generations to come. It was the great meaningful visit I ever made in my life.
This was my first time to come to any US Presidential Library, and surely I wasn’t disappointed. This library is located about 1.5 hours from West LA, and got every information on Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy Reagan.
The staffs were nice and courteous, and very informative. The stars of the collection are Air Force One and Marine One. Don’t miss the opportunity to see how the presidents travel in style.
Such a beatiful setting. Friendly staff and a great tribute to one of the greatest men that has ever lived.
It is a self guided experience that is a must visit if you are in the Southern California area. I was there for a book signing and lecture. So, it was a pretty full day. I was pretty excited about the event but the Reagan Library was an unexpected gem. I learned so much that I didn't know previously about Reagan pre-presidency. It's a great multimedia experience that I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend highly.
Large beautiful grounds. The Ronald Reagan hologram is very moving. The whole exhibit is a fine example of a powerful man who was kind and respectful in the use of his power. We went mostly to see the Pompeii exhibit, but the library was great. The Air Force One plane really gives you a sense of nostalgia. You can take pictures throughout, just no flash. If parking says full, still drive up the hill, as people leave all the time and they never move the sign.
We enjoyed our year membership at the Ronald Reagan Museum & Library. My fried used to volunteer there so l’ve had an opportunity to get to know this place a lot and to learn more about American history and a former American president. One of my favorite places and the view from it gives so much joy to my heart and my mind.
We arrived at 1:30pm spent 3 wonderful hours, but could have used more time there as we rushed out on Sunday after. At 4:30pm a tour guide went thru telling us we had to leave they are closing now. Other thsn that one rude gentleman who push us out so that we couldn't even shop the ladt 1/2 hour he said you buy stuff online. We thought he was extremely unprofessional and rude. When got in our car to leave he rushed out in his truck before us speeding away. Why work if you don't really want to be there. Other than this unpleasantness, we otherwise experienced a wonderful agternoon reminiscing and even learning history during the Reagan Presidential years in office. The museum is extremely top notch, and we'd would definately go back again.
Hadn't been for years, and it didn't disappoint. Knowledgeable staff, not too pushy, just the right amount. Loved AF 1 and all of the memorabilia
A very educational and fun way to learn about the 40th President of the United States. The place has state-of-the-art displays and interactive activities. My personal favorites are Reagan's hologram, the Air Force One Pavilion, replica of the oval office and Marine One. The hologram shows the President with his dog in 3d and uses his own voice. The library also has a piece from the Berlin Wall on its grounds. This is also recommended for bird watchers. Quite pricey entrance fee but well worth it.
Traveled to the area for a work trip and decided to hit the Presidential library with another co-worker. It's a great drive up in the mountains with a beautiful backdrop. Once we checked in, it was a first class experience, from start to finish. Getting to see the entire life, & history of our 40th President, and walk through some great exhibits.
Very wonderful library museum about one of the greatest presidents we've had in this country. It is a fitting memorial to Former President Ronald Regan and First Lady- memorializing not only his work as our Nation's Leader but his life in whole life in general.
We visited during another presentation, The Leonardo DaVinci exhibit. Very nice however not as nice as the tribute to the Regan administration.
It can become very crowded.
Adults are $25/ea and kids 2-10 $15/ea.
Beautifully done!! the tour is audio guided but I hardly needed it. It was a lovely tribute to a great man. We were both in tears at the end of the tour. Sincerely miss You Mr President
A beautiful place, I loved seeing his Cadillac and his Air Force One.
Definitely worth visiting.
I have been to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library several times. Each time, it got better and better. The tour of the museum and the attractions is very nice. Perfectly located atop the mountain -- creating beautiful views for a sunset in the evening.
The gift shop is also very nice. Well priced, as well.
Really cool place to get to know Ronald Reagan! The museum is beautiful, and there are plenty of staff around to answer questions and tell you interesting facts. I loved learning about his childhood, his relationship with his wife Nancy, her role as the First Lady, the secret service, and all the amazing things Reagan did for California. Usually I am bored at museums, but this one is excellent and kept me interested. They have put a lot of work into this place. It’s definitely worth visiting! What a wonderful and fun experience we had.
We had really nice time, very interesting and learning experience. Very well organized and maintained, wheelchair friendly. All associate very informative and really happy to help you. You can get professional picture next to presidential airplane, it's approximately $24.
Pretty grand place. They have the old Air Force One in the building and you can go in inside to get a closer look. Nice scenery and great presentation of Reagan's works, accomplishments and achievements .
This was our 3rd time visiting because we love it 🥰 we have a membership so is nice to come. My kids love it. Learning is good. …
In this museum,we understands the power of the United States of America and the challenges that this great country has had over the decades, especially the great contribution it has given to the Cold War. This place is amazing as it has gathered many things in one place. Awesome objects like Air Force One, helicopter of president and other original things. Also here you can see all the history and contribution that has been given by one of the lfamous US Presidents Rinald Regan. It is worth visiting. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this wonderful place.
An absolute "must see" if you enjoy Presidential history, and especially great when considering Mr Reagan was certainly one of the best men to ever be elected to the Oval Office. The cost for a ticket was pricey, but you will not be disappointed in the quality of the exhibits. The trip thru Air Force One is worth the price of admission. The gardens outside, and the views from the Museum are spectacular as well.
A great display of US history when President Ronald Reagan was in office and when America had a sense of humor. A great place for both Republicans and Democrats alike. You can even see the flash cards that President Reagan once used to tell his jokes during his presidency. You can climb aboard Air Force One and see his legendary limo. Other interesting items you will find are a piece of the Berlin wall and I can still hear Reagan saying, "Tear down this wall!" I love the fact that he wanted to tear the wall down, and now Trump wants to put a wall up in our own back yard. Times have changed.
Definitely worth a visit regardless of political point of view. There is so much history and personal items from President Reagan's administration and seeing Air Force 1 and Marine One are stunning. The FBI exhibit was fantastic as well.
This place reminds why President Reagan was one true champion of democracy, freedom and justice...a God loving American that loved his country, family and faith. A place where every American should visit for sure to remind us how truly blessed we really are!!
Awesome. Must visit when in the area. $16.00 per person and free parking. Self guided tour with several staff always around to answer any questions. Actual decommissioned Air Force One on static display that you can walk thru along with Marine One.
The place was so much fun. Had the FBI exhibit and was so cool. Can't wait to find out what the next exhibit will be
The building sits high on a hill in Simi Valley with a breathtaking view of the california mountains. Sometimes they are green but mostly they are a yellow.
The presidential exhibit is long be prepared to do a lot of walking and really take time to take it all in. There are some guided tours and most everyone seems friendly. The docents really have a lot of information although some of them seem a bit nervous, perhaps its the current political state that we are in.
The exhibit takes you from the presidents "humble beginnings" to his days as a spokesperson for General Electric to his Governorship of California his presidency and of course his death.
Some of the exhibits are interactive and although dated are fun.
I am not surprised but very sad that the exhibit pays no mind, homage or reverence to the indigenous people of this land (California) the Native American Holocaust was completely left out. That makes me even more sad that the president really enjoyed the land and even loved riding horses and loved the Sierras according to the exhibit.
Nancy is a bit part of the exhibit on display are her beautiful gowns classy outfits.
A replica of the OVAL OFFICE as it appeared when REAGAN was president is there in full view but no real access.
The exhibits ends with an opportunity to enter AIRFORCE ONE and MARINE ONE, that was the high light for me.
The gift shop is full of some cute knick knacks unfortunate it was all of very poor quality and manufacture in China? After this entire exhibit of making America great again we have a bin of low quality product. It kinda took the Nancy Reagan regal feeling away.
THE TITANIC EXHIBIT. Terrible. There are few artifacts it was mostly a about James Cameron and how he made a movie, it had the feeling of a sales pitch rather than a museum exhibit. I did feel mixing fiction and non fiction was a very poor choice. Would not recommend that exhibit.
Things you should know:
Bring Comfortable but cute shoes,
Bring your patience theres lots of kids and older people
Parking is pentiful and they also offer shuttle service which is clean
Its expensive about 30 dollars but that includes parking so it kinda works out, They do offer a student discount and a senior citizen discount for those of you who are over 62
This place is a wonderful tribute to such a great president. During our visit there was also a great WWII display there. These things are a must see. The president's Air Force One is there on display as well.
Awesome experience visiting The Ronald Reagan Library. Also got to see the FBI exhibit. Both were GREAT! Very highly recommend
This is by far one of the best museum's I have ever been to. The staff are so friendly, and the exhibits are amazing! The views of the valley are also stunning.
What an incredible find while bicycling, of all things. It's tucked away in the hills so that it's a real hidden treasure. And it's beautiful. And there's even a piece of the Berlin Wall there. I'd suggest doing the tour - it's well worth your time.
Very nice place to visit and so interesting. Saw the world two exhibit. They had all sorts of artifacts and a real Sherman tank.
Has the typical items you would expect to see at a presidential library and museum. However, the main attraction is one of the planes once used as Air Force One.
Truly a destination that will forever leave a lasting impression in regards to the institution of our democracy. I am excited to have experienced this wonderful place. I recommend spending a day here. The spectacular views from the terraces are amazing! More importantly, are the exhibits that really give you a glimpse into the life and duties of our 40th President, Ronald Reagan and the 1st Lady Nancy Reagan. There is a lot to see, so plan on coming early.
Amazing! If you enjoy history or cool cars and airplanes. This is the spot. Also, it has amazing views
Auschwitz memories are deepened thru reviewing the pictures, films, and wonderfully helpful audio tour at the Regan
Absolutely beautiful. Really enjoyed everything about the library and museum. Highly recommend a visit.
Lots of history plus traveling exhibits. Huge area dedicated to the life of President Reagan. From world events to Air Force One. The traveling exhibits typically have nothing to do with the static presidential showcase...but that is a plus! The ticket price typically includes all exhibits under the roof. Get here early, take your time. Great for families and kids doing reports on Reagan.
Everything should see this If you can. It's not only about a Great President but you can also see a part of WWII History.
The museum and garden is beautiful! Had an amazing time seeing Nancy Reagan's wardrobe. That is my favorite part of the museum I love her dresses. My dad recognized the Russian president that allowed the Soviet Union to crumble so he could leave to go to Israel or tell the gov he was doing that and then go to America. This Russian president was at a Jewish event and is still alive today and he made friends and deals with Reagan. I liked seeing Navy One with thirteen seats and I enjoyed looking at the plays Reagan was in. Did you know Reagan used to be an actor.
WWII exhibit very interesting. But it was terribly overcrowded and difficult to see the exhibits. Many helpful guides around. Bistro menu was limited and food quite average. Not like it used to be.
Very well layout overview of President Reagan's life and legacy. Being able to walk through the inside of Air Force One is really cool. Well worth the time (minimum two hours).
My mother and I took a trip here recently and purchased the annual membership which includes free visits to this and other presidential libraries. There are guided tours, but it's worth it just to explore on your own, especially Air Force 1. This was a nice, relaxing visit while the rest of the family played at Six Flags, which was only about 30 minutes away. Very historical fascinating, and they have different exhibts that get showcased throughout the year. Worth a visit.
Great place to visit. Ronald Reagan was a great thinker an as a president changed the world. Excellent location with the beatiful views of the Simi Valley. Occasionally they have themed exhibits.
i visited The Reagan Library 2008 and 2018, i went in 2018 when they had the Ghenhis Khan Exhibit, it was fascinating to see the contribution his Empire had contributed to civilization
Spent hours learning about all of the good things President and Nancy Reagan did during their lifetime. The interactive displays were excellent! So glad I didn't miss this experience while in California.
I was there last in 2010, so I'm sure a lot of things have changed. I was impressed at the detail of the displays. The love that President Reagan had for this country is evident everywhere you go here. I look forward to returning here soon.
Memorable place of history. If visiting during an exhibit and have never been here before, suggest doing the memorial library tour first as you might not get to finish before it closes, 7 hrs go by quick...
We went early for our FBI Exhibit time slot and toured the museum. Probably best to go on a weekday because Saturday was fairly crowded. This is a place where you will want to look at things up close and read (or listen to the audio tour via handheld device) and you'll want to avoid the busy days/times to really take it all in.
Here's one for the Gipper... A nice presidential library in the Reagan country. I went for the Genghis Kahn exhibit, which is the largest collection of its kind thus far. Mongols once ruled the largest empire known in history. Very well presented with a kinder interpretation of this conqueror who has been misunderstood, if not outright vilified, rather than presenting him as a unifying leader rose from a modest background and despite an almost impossible odds against him. He loved horses. He was tough with his enemies, but very benevolent to his subjects. He opened his heart to those who submitted to him, yet he ruthlessly destroyed those who chose to fight him. Sounds almost like Reagan himself, no?
Didnt Kow what to expect coming In here. Thought it was Just a library but its More than that. Has Different exhibits, different Models of Cars and Aviation. Its Really worth the time to come and check this Out and getting To know more about the history of different important things that happened. A lot of Interactive things for Kids to learn.
Great place if you enjoy history or American politics. Docents are very knowledgeable and friendly. Took my dad for Father's day and we both enjoyed our lunches (special they offered for the day). Service staff was very attentive as well. The sounding area is quite beautiful and peaceful.
Great museum, very big, and a lot of historical information!
A wonderful place... Highly recommend
One of the best libraries ever, with pristine views of the surrounding valley and special exhibits year round. Resting Repose of our beloved President Ronald Reagan and home to Air Force One ☝️
We visited the new exhibit The Secrets of WWII. Very informative. Looking forward for a new exhibit.
Visit this place and be reminded of a time when the office of the President of the United States was an office that was respected, revered, and was a place of integrity, discipline, and honor... Be you Republican, Democrat, or independent, this amazing place allows you to experience a masterfully curated multisensory journey through time showcasing one of our most prolific American Presidents and leadership icons. A man and President who was far from perfect, and far from the mythical figure many of my fellow Republican friends believed him to be.
But he was everything we needed him to be when we needed it most... A true leader that set in motion decades of American prosperity without alienating us from the rest of the world's nations... this prosperity came from uniting us with many of the countries around the world, and through that unity, brought about the end of the cold war... among many other world altering events of the time.
For me, this library did an outstanding job showcasing the man, not the myth...a man whose life's story is so much greater than just the 8 years he spent in office, and it was a rare treat to learn about him and Nancy from the perspective of just being real people, living real lives.
One of the first exibits in the main hall is a series of three hand written essays he'd done in school that recounted events in his life that affected him so profoundly, that they subconsciously charted his life's course. Two were about his foot ball playing and how working as a team made him greater than the sum of his parts, and the third told about the fear and elation he'd experienced in a freak storm that hit him as he rowed a canoe over a lake. Characteristically, this showed within him the value he held in the input of those around him, and spoke to his sense of fearlessly succeeding where others feared to tread. He was most certainly one of a kind, and most certainly a President who's actions and deeds inspired a new generation to greatness, and personified the America of the 1980's.
For me, the true heart of this place was in learning about Ronald Reagan's full, colorful, and robust life! A life full of overcoming all the obstacles placed in his path, and never shying away from reinvention at a time in American history when heros were born, not invented on Instagram from thin air, and the American dream was possible for all those who worked hard enough for it. It was a true look- back to a time when we as Americans looked up to our Presidents as bastions of morality... integrity...guidance...and hope, not just because they held the highest office in the land but because they were heroes that earned it through hard work, perseverance, and a warrior's spirit.
Me, the naive kid who watched Reagan lead a nation through eight years of speeches on TV, being only 3 when he was first elected, and just 11 years old when he left office, I whole heartedly believed in him...trusted him... and looked up to him as both a great man and even greater US President.
As I grew older and more educated, I learned truths about him and all politicians that I'd never known, nor could even comprehend as an impressionable child. These truths took much of the guilding from my perception of President Reagan, but none from Ronald Reagan the man. Visiting his library made me wish for the return of a President built from the same stuff as him; a man of integrity who valued the MANY, far more than he did the ONE... while also providing a spectacular view of the valley as I stepping back in time to the '80s, and relieved many of the world shattering events of that time. The tour made me acutely aware that no other man but Reagan could have navigated this great country through all of it!
Our 40th President was destined from childhood to serve this country, not by chance, but by perseverance, hard work, and by grabbing destiny with both hands and holding on tight. His library shares his and Nancy's story with the world, and serves as a place to inspire all who step through its doors!
I wasn't particularly fond of the politics of Ronald Reagan during his time as President. Yet, considering the state of current GOP politics, there is perhaps a certain yearning for the "good old days".
I'm also a huge fan of Presidential Libraries, as a historical learning opportunity and having a chance to experience that Administration's "magic". Before this visit, I've been to the Hoover, Truman, Nixon, LBJ libraries. As a Texas A&M grad, I need to visit Bush Senior's, and then move forward to others
Despite all my political "baggage", both Gayle and I were deeply impressed with the the Ronald Regan Presidential Foundation and Library. We enjoyed learning from the exhibits (including the real Air Force One), and appreciating more but the Man. Of course, there's some "historical interpretation" here, but what else would you expect? It was still all very stately, absorbin, and professional, beyond whatever grains of salt we might have been taking.
One glaring omission was that we found no mention whatsoever of Jane Wyman, Reagans first wife. Maybe that's not so surprising considering Nancy's significant input into the design of the Reagan Library.
Lastly, the property is gorgeous and with stunning views. There's also a gift shop and cafeteria. Various political speakers also come here to speak, of which I assume are open to the public.
Been a member for years, the displays are fascinating and we have seen several speakers there including Dr Ben Carson and Nikki Haley.
The massive special exhibit wing is the main reason to come back. Presently the sunken Egypt exhibit is open.
This is a very large presidential museum. All one sided pro Reagan as expected. You see an introductory video, his years as governor of California, his election as president, assassination attempt, oval office, many rooms going over what he did as president, and then the post presidency years. There is a massive side wing which holds the 747 Air Force One exhibit with a list of all his travels, presidential motorcade, and helicopter. A pub with snacks is also located here.
The Café and museum store are located near the entrance. Quite a selection in the café, including gluten free options.
Highly recommended. My family and I learned a lot about Reagan, his legacies and other fun facts. You need to prepare 3-4 hours to explore and read the materials in this library. No entrance fee. Only parking fee of $15.
Great self guided tour, amazing view from the terrace. Air force one was cool. I would definitely come back one day
Returned to see the Secrets of WWII exhibit; very well done. A lovely museum in a beautiful location, honoring a great President.
We couldn't have had a better time if we tried. Granted, I'm biased as a Reagan fan, but this place was so well put together that my wife and son thoroughly enjoyed themselves too. It's so much more than a library, with exhibits, videos, interactive "games", the air force one and marine one exhibit, and the presidential motorcade.
The leadership situation room experience is a must do for groups as well!
I was impressed with the information available about the 40th President of United State. Before visiting the library, I thought I already knew enough about President Ronald Reagan, but I could say at the end of the day I left the library learing a lot about the president Reagan. It was great feeling walking through the aisles of Air Force One displayed at the museum. Every one working here was nice and friendly, I assume most of them were volunteers.
Even though there is a cafeteria, but remember this not a restaurant. You don't go to the Reagan Library for food. So don't have high expectations about what you will eat, just enjoy your day learning more about president Reagan and appriciate the history of United States.
It was great I remember Nancy Reagan slogan about just say no to drugs and getting the chance to see the plane and realize the steps of one of the president of the United States
The location is beautiful, building feels like a suburban golf clubhouse. Mythmaking, not historical context is the objective here. Airforce One and other aircraft are a highlight
I was here for a private event but from what I got to see it's a really amazing place!!
I always wanted to go to the Ronald Reagan Library and it is a must-see on everyone's bucket list. It was very exciting and provided in vivid detail both visually and audibly that's fun for the whole entire family including kids.
They have many activities that are family-related including a scientific Museum of the 1980s and its products they have historic images of Reagan his clothing, his family background, and everything else you could imagine.
It was better than I expected and I can't wait to go back again.
In addition the scenery in the mountains are breathtaking and you need to take plenty of pictures and spend several hours there to absorb the totality of the atmosphere.
Also, you get to walk on Air Force One, which President Reagan traveled on numerous times and see vehicles of the Secret Service, that protected him and even the helicopter they traveled in seldomly around the California area.
The Ronald Reagan Museum is one of the best places in the United States. I cherished my visit.
God bless Ronald Reagan for his goals and commanding our great nation for eight wonderful years. Again, every American needs to understand how important he was to our country, history, and more specifically our freedom....
which is never free.
This was my third trip to the museum and it never gets old. I find something new every time I go there in addition to whatever their current special showing is. Both the people and the place deserve five stars. I highly recommend the Reagan library for both family and friends.
Great place to visit, nice staff. With so many things to see the self tour takes about 3 hours. You can walk through Air Force One and Marine One.
The name presidential library might be misleading to some, this is a fantastic museum about Ronald Reagan and his two therms as President of United States. But the ultimate highlight is the Air Force One, you can even board it.
There is also a Marine One (helicopter), a presidential Limousine as well as a couple other vehicles.
Entrance fee is rather steep (around $30) but well worth it. Very impressive and educational.
I thought it was a really neat experience to be able to walk through Air Force One and Marine One.
The museum is educational and has a number of good photo opportunities. There's a ton of cool exhibits and pieces of memorabilia.
Also liked the F-14 and Stealth F-117 Nighthawk on display.
Go see the library at least once. I'll probably be back!
It was exceptional this is one of the most beautiful and exceptional places I have ever visited I get very emotional just walking in the doors when a wonderful person he was
This place is an absolute must see. It gives you a renewed sense of Pride for our country that is lacking so many today. I loved it!
What an awesome day out. Been there twice now and it doesn’t get old. It can be extremely busy so good idea to call ahead to get an idea of the ‘traffic’. If you like to spend time reading everything then you should allocate the whole day. They say 4 hours but there is way too much to read in that time. If you go at Christmas time you can also see ‘presidential Christmas trees’ exhibits. Planning to go again next year. Love it! We also were fortunate enough to see the titanic exhibit This time.
This library is a perfect dedication to one of America's finest leaders. The Gipper Cafe offers delicious and affordable meal options, the staff were knowledgeable and helpful, and the tour of Air Force was an amazing experience.
One of the best presidential library's we've been to. I would suggest get there early.
The place was huge!! The gift shop has so much stuff!! I thought it was going to be boring boy was I wrong. I recommend the audio tours. There was so much stuff I will not be able to fit it all in this review. We were here for four hours. The employees good not have been better. They were so nice and had so much information. If I am ever back in the area I will be going again. I definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
Pros:
1. Air Force one pavilion is fabulous.
2. Balcony view is great
3. Featured with huge amount of content while every section is organized and well connected.
Cons:
1. Overpriced. (FYI: Nixon’s library charges $16 adult, $10 students, free to active military) considering both libraries are administered by NARA, it’s weird to see the price gap.
2. The WWII exhibition does not have a clear topic. It feels like the library just grab anything related to that piece of history then put them right in front of you without arrangement.
3. The hostility against communism is overwhelming and unnecessary. Although President Reagan is indeed a tough man against communism, I do think the design of Cold War section does not help educate people of the crazy time. The section is more like a propaganda, just like the library itself, totally ignores controversial issues in Reagan’s terms while try to deify him.
Nixon’s library is better.
While not a fan of some of the political ideology behind some of the displays at the Reagan Presidential Library it is an impressive building and in particularly the Airforce One in the hanger out the back is worth a visit.
The family had a great time. So much to see kind of hard to do it all in one day, I recommend two days if possible. The Cafe is open but the Reagan Pub is still closed. There is a vending machine next to the pub, I suggest bringing some snacks especially if you have any young ones with you.
This was the first time I visited a presidential library and I wasn't sure what to expect. As it turns out, it's just a museum about Reagan's life, but that's okay because I learned things I didn't know. It was really interesting - and I enjoyed touring through air force one and seeing the helicopter. There is also currently a Titanic exhibit and reading the stories about the real people on the boat was very interesting. Plus a bonus: amazing views from the patio at the back of the museum!
This is an extremely impressive library/museum. We went there for the Titanic Exhibit, which was good, but the sections devoted to Ronald Reagan were amazing. With every turn, it just got better and better. From vignettes of Reagan's acting career to his term as Governor of California to his momentous Presidency, the collection of historical documents, mementos and photographs is unparalleled. All the historic milestones are presented in vivid, interactive displays. There is a replica of the Oval Office, a tribute to heroes featuring a piece of the World Trade Center, a large slab of the Berlin Wall, as well as the actual Air Force One jet used by Presidents Nixon through G.W. Bush. One popular display featured the guest book signed by Princess Diana the night she danced with John Travolta. If you love history, you could spend days here. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is friendly, the food is terrific. It was well worth the price of admission.
Wonderful museum to visit. Clean, easy to move around.
A must see place if you're visiting Simi Valley. If you are planning a visit, here are a few tips to consider. Please note, my visit was on Labour day weekend, your experience on other days may vary.
Getting there is very easy and the drive is beautiful. Keep in mind the parking area is limited in space. I got there 10 min after opening (10:10 am) and found a parking spot at the upper parking level. When I left at around 12:30, cars were parked along both sides of the entrance road almost halfway down the hill!
At 10:10 am there was a small line up at the entrance to the museum for ticket purchase, which led out into the courtyard. There was a line for general admission, online ticket ourchases and a member's line. Considering that the folks that had purchased ticket online still had to wait in a line, I could not see the advantage of doing so. My wait was about 15 min to get my ticket. I think they could streamline the entrance process a bit as you have to lineup to get your tickets, lineup to get in the museum, then line up to either enter either the main museum or special exhibit.
Once inside, the various sections are well-laidout, interesting and informative. You get a great sence of who President Regan was, and how his environment help shape him to become President and how world events helped shape and define his Presidency. The replica of the oval office was very fascinating.
Unlike other large museums, I would say this museum is intimate and very easy to navigate around. The aircraft display is simply amazing. Although I did not visit the cafeteria, it seemed to be a great place to have a snack or lunch. The grounds outsude and views of the vally bellow are simply breathtaking.
Although I did get a speaker wand at the entrance for an extra $7, I found myself not using it much as the displays provided adequate information.
A great destination for the whole family. Hope you enjoy!
Right now they have FBI items on display. You can see parts of the planes that hit the twin towers.
Beautiful grounds, wonderful history. Reagan was full of hope and inspiration!
Staff was friendly knowledgeable and approachable. I had a great time.
The Library does an excellent job of conveying Regan's presidency. The museum within is incurable featuring Air Force 1 from his time as president. An excellent place for an event or just to visit.
The World War 2 exhibit was superb and the kids loved seeing Air Force One and Marine One. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed our visit.
My first presidential library visit, and I must say it wasn't at all what I expected. The foundation does an amazing job of providing a framework of Reagan's early and most formative years, laying the foundation of who generations of Americans after would know. The Oval Office and Air Force One are really cool, and honestly awe inspiring.
Even as a huge Reagan fan, I promised myself I would look through a critical view of anything resembling "here is the great leader, see how great he is and he is getting greater all the time." The foundation makes sure we see the man that was Reagan, and all of his flaws that helped him be such a great leader.
Recommend the tour for everyone!!
Lady on Air Force One had zero sense of humour.
Gorgeous location. Loved being able to tour inside the airplane and helicopter. Helpful Docents. Lovely exhibits and grounds.
We always enjoy this place. Really doesn't matter your political affiliation, this place always has interesting special exhibits, which you can always look through without seeing the regular part of the museum.
This place has more information than can be absorbed. Focus on what interests you. The souvenir photos were nice, but don't try to get digital copies on the internet. They ask for a credit card and try to sell you their software. I never got my pictures. It ruined what had been a great experience.
Always a great place lots of history about President Reagan life and his time in office. The extra display about various things that happened in the world is always great.
I'm tourists. But I'm happy for the Americans because you have a great president. He almost changed the history of the world during his time.
Amazing presidential museum with stunning views of the surrounding area. A few more kid friendly/ interactive exhibits would be a great addition for little ones.
The combination of using different media to tell his story kept my interest, especially the hologram theater. I felt the library gloss over the Iran Contra affair and his support of the Mccarthy Hearings and blacklisting.
Incredibly well run place with some amazing facilities. Getting to walk through Air Force One was awesome. I found the whole place very interesting, even as a non American who doesn't have a great interest in politics.
The happiest place on earth!!! Literally my only complaint is that the cafe changed the French fries to something greasy and not very tasty. I miss the yummy steak fries!
The Auschwitz exhibit was very moving
Awesome museum. I went when they were showcasing the magna Carta. Phenomenal exhibit!
Went to the library for the WWII exhibit. Quite a lot of the memorabilia and documentation of the War.
The library itself had a full sized oval office and the actual air force one 7 presidents used during office. They had videos and archived audio footage from his whole life from acting to serving in politics.
Live in area & over yrs visited museum approx 10x. Visted last week; grounds & view always amazing. Prior to recent "remodel" or "redesign" def 4 or 5 star experience even w admission cost higher than avg museum experience (big jump w Air Force One installment).
Enjoyed elaborate & history filled WWII exhibit; teen son couldn't get over size & structure of military equipment. Days later, still frustrated w how poorly designed & laid out it ALL was... Even w assistance, we were constantly turned around & lost to the point, vertigo hit me hard trying to find an exit through maze, reached panic attack level, found seat. Museum bit more crowded than usual. WWII display tightly squeezed together & written info portrait style NOT landscape so if patron admiring, you were unable to read too or see behind them, or to side of them or on tippy toes. There was NO natural flow & why the temp & perm exhibits seemed scattered chronologically & on different levels/floors now.
A tired mom & young kid were in elevator with me in Air Force One area after circling exhibit 2x looking for stairs/elev. Me needing restroom, she to get back to main lobby. We were just done w confusion. Like an all day Disneyland trip.
A extraordinary experience... and the most beautiful history of our 40th President Ronald Reagan... A big museum with a beautiful garden
Loved it, learned a lot, found the staff friendly and cheerful. Amazing views, loved the WW2 special exhibit, I would love to return and do the second half of my day more leisurely. And yes, they had jelly beans!
This is one of the best Presidential museums. So much to see, including Air Force One and other travelling exhibits.
The WWII exhibit is temporary, but it is well worth the trip to come see it. It is impressively extensive in detail and beautifully composed.
Amazing place to visit and great friendly staff. Tons of videos information and items to see.
Our teenager enjoyed The World of Da Vinci exhibit, touring Air Force One, the replicated Oval Office and South Lawn. Plus, beautiful views of the valley from inside and outside of the buildings.
What an honor to visit the resting place of the president that brought down Iron curtain! Entertaining, nostalgic and educational. Plus the best fudge anywhere.
Spectacular recap of history. They thought of every single detail to show his fascinating life.
You can go inside the airforce 1 and the presidential helicopter. My favorite part id the garden outside. 🙂 …
Fascinating FBI exhibit. There were really nice and helpful docents. We really enjoyed seeing Air Force One.
Impressive place to learn about Ronald Reagan and lifestyle of a President. We had fun and spend more than 2 hours there
Volunteers were good and very good telling of Reagan’s story
Interesting place to see the president of the board in inside , on the same aircraft flew five presidents, including George W. Bush Jr., and Bill Clinton.
WWII exhibit is going until October 9th. Real artifacts on display. Absolutely amazing history.
It’s not cheap, but it’s a very worthwhile experience. Very modular tour so you can get into as much depth (or as little) as you’d like covering from his early days as a tot, up through High School and College, to his days as a sports announcer, then actor, then a ambassador for GE and on into politics. Walk through Air Force One and Marine One. You’ll have your pix taken before each and then you can buy them if you’d like. Tour an exact replica of the Oval Office. The multimedia experience will take you back to key moments in his presidency and death, transporting you back in time. You can walk through a replica of the South Lawn of the White House and visit the graves of Ron and Nancy on the way out. They’re still masked up here and are using that excuse for not having Reagan’s Pub open on the ground floor. Overall, a great experience!
The Reagan Library is absolutely awesome! There’s an abundant collection of artifacts, information, and more hidden inside this gem tucked away in Simi Valley.
Plus, this is the only Air Force One plane civilians can get on-board in the country! You absolutely must go.
This is a very beautiful museum. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent experience.
They had a very interesting exhibit on World War II that was very informative and I enjoyed it very much. This was the second time I have been there and they0 have a great museum and staff.
Excellent place to visit.
Old airforce one here. Tail number 27000
Very nice alittle too crowded for last exhibit should have put a limit to walk in and online. Could of been a Covid mass spreader being indoors on top of all the guests.
This facility is 1st Class
All the hosts were knowledgeable and friendly
A great reminder for those who experienced President Regan great leadership and a educational opportunity for those who were to young to know real leadership at the Presidential level.
The fact aside I think Reagan destroyed the middle class and created the current mental health homeless population, it was a great tour. I was reminded of things that I had forgotten. I learned things that I never would have known. The plane was very cool as was the FBI display. The staff was great and informative. I have only been to the Clinton Presidential Library and while I think Clinton was a better president, Reagan’s library is better. Next visit I will be heading to the Nixon Presidential Library. This is a must visit for everyone.
Ron took the barber shop out of the White House and put the infamous situation room in the grounds. He was a D then became a R sometime after he was he screen actors leader. My second visit to a presidential library. Spent two hours could done more. Forgot to see the fighter jet because the Air Force One and chopper are so neat.
Amazing place, well done. Worth the visit. Words that transcend time.
If you love history, this is a must. President Reagan was a great man and great part of American history. His story and story of Nancy Reagan were great before and after Ronald Reagan became president. There are some great exhibits and WWII exhibit was great.
Beautiful location and great exhibits. You will expand your knowledge. Do it.
Awesome. A great place to visit, and learn the History of 80's. Take 4hs the full tour !
Fantastic. Take the time to go, and when you're there - listen to (or read) the exhibits. My favorite thing is to hear his economic and political philosophy, and to see how he worked with other leaders to bring America back from decline. Fascinating & encouraging history & info, plus beautifully done exhibits- like Air Force One.
The Reagan Library was full of incredible artifacts about Ronald and his life. The view from the vast enclosed space that holds the Airforce one has an incredible view. The docents were well informed and handily available to offer you even more facts about Reagan and his presidency and the artifacts in the library. When the photo opportunity comes up in front of the entry door to the Air Force One be sure to stop by the desk and view your photo. It was neat to see my son and I in front of the plane and not just that, in the Oval Office. The reason for only four stars is because the photos in my opinion are way over priced. At $50 I had to unfortunately pass. If the price was lower I would have bought them and had a nice memento of our day.
Arrived an hour before closing, one of the employees took pity on us and gave what felt to us a VIP tour. The big draw is the former Air Force One, but we were able to rush and see a good portion of the exhibits and memorabilia. We felt bad not being able to give the exhibits the full attention they deserved, but we hit the highlights. With very few visitors left, we nearly had the whole place to ourselves. This really is a magnificent place, and we will return when we can devote more time.
What’s not to love about this museum? Probably one of the best presidential museums!
Well kept facility and museum with friendly staff and docents. We enjoy the special exhibits, as they are always well done and informative. Great cafe on site as well to get a bite during your visit.
We really enjoy visiting the Reagan Library. Whether one leans liberal or conservative, there's something to take away from President Reagan and the complex issues and challenges he faced during his tenure. We make a point of seeing their new exhibits each time we are in town visiting family. The price is reasonable if one is seeing both the Regan Museum and featured exhibit, though a bit costly if only seeing the exhibit. It would be nice for the Library to establish a ticketing system for seeing the temporary exhibits vs the whole experience. The property itself is well built and tranquil. Public restrooms were readily available in addition to hand sanitizer stations placed frequently throughout the exhibits.
It was an amazing experience. He was a great President.
Loved it. Lots of history there. The Christmas trees were great
It's a nice library with a great history. The exhibits are great and has a good view of the valley. My favorite is the Air Force One.
When I attended the special exhibit was the FBI, which was fascinating, it had everything from Bonnie and Clyde’s shot out car to the airplane bombers shoes to the role in the world trade centre bombing.
The main exhibition has the Berlin Wall, you can board Air Force One and the presidential helicopter as well as see a replica of the Oval Office.
I would not bother with the audio tour as reading the signs is enough and there is so much to see.
Easy to park, beautiful grounds and not a dull moment.
Nice museum. So funny the republicans are finally mandating mask 12/31/22. 2 years ago it was fake news.
If you have not been you always see yourself to go
40th American President Ronald Reagan’s Museum.
One of the American Presidential Museums with best view.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Always great exhibits and views.
The cafeteria is newly remodeled.
This was an overwhelmingly beautiful retrospective of the Reagan presidency. Walking through Air Force One, Marine One and seeing his motorcade was phenomenal. The presentation of his hologram was very emotional. The "Gifts of State" were breathtaking as were the displays of some of Nancy's gowns.
There were thousands of photos and videos on display, reminding us all of the good and bad issues, incidents, movements, etc. that happened during the Reagan presidency. Through photos, you learn a great deal about Reagan's life as a child, his Hollywood years, his years as President and post presidency until passing.
The location is gorgeous, with lush gardens and landscaping, and you can dine outside and view Simi Valley, most vibrant at sunset. This is where you will find the gravesites of President and Mrs. Reagan. Most certain to take your breath away and fill your eyes with watery emotion. By far, one of the best Presidential libraries I've visited. We were there 4+ hours.
Was a wonderful visit.. I'd definitely take 4 hours to tour the whole place ..And remember the restaurant closes at 2:30..
Very good place to know about the presidential dealings. I go there for book signing with exciting people.
If you enjoy museums and history, the Ronald Reagan Presidential library is for you. Easy to locate, free parking and the entrance and routes are well marked. The curators did a good job, as this is about as bi-partisan as the USA gets and both parties can respectfully enjoy the artifacts of a past president.
Once you enter, there are guides in each area. I bought the audio tour for an extra few bucks but unless you're impaired, it doesn't add much and you have to carry the device around the whole time, so I generally do not recommend. You can speed walk it but to take it all in, plan on spending at least half the day here reading, watching the videos and interacting with the exhibits. My personal favorite exhibits were in Reagan's radio and hollywood years but the Jets and chopper were really impressive too.
At the end of the tour, there is a large gift shop and a couple places to eat and drink. After half day walking, I was glad to pay more money to sit and drink outside and take in the sweeping valley views.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Been here several times for company parties; this was many years ago when it first opened. But this was the first time walking through slowly taking in the exhibit and the life and legacy of Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy Reagan. A true statesman with a genuine love for God, his country and global peace. His lifelong love for his wife was also clearly apparent.
It was really cool getting to board AF 1 and Marine 1. There was also a WW 11 display covering 2 large rooms. Several screens where Veterans were sharing their stories.
First time visiting. Worth it to see the life , history and burial site of Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy. Excellent display of Air Force one and helicopter and security vehicles. Bonus - FBI temporary exhibit was a bit too crowded but interesting. Overall an excellent day trip.
Great place to visit and eat good family day experience
Very nice museum. When we went it had a ww2 exhibit. Overall it was pretty pricey however. Should be cheaper. The oval office replica was really cool. The highlights were the Berlin wall, Air Force One, and Marine One. Both of which you can go inside. Great experience for the family and kids who never heard of President Reagon. The little restaurant is only open for a few hours during lunch. If you get the family membership which is almost the same price we would have paid for 4, it comes with a 10% discount at the giftshop.
Loved this tour and especially appreciated the FBI displays. So much work has gone into the displays, I'm glad we came and stayed all day.
Had a great time, do plan on spending a couple hours there.
Went to view the FBI exhibit. Very informative and some very cool artifacts. It was a bit crowded for a Wednesday afternoon, but was easily able to view all exhibits. The library has a new cafe and is a great place to grab a bite and sit outside.
The Pompeii Exhibition is haunting, heartbreaking, and awe inspiring. Highly recommend.
Finally visited this fascinating piece of history. Always admired President Reagan as he was such an impressive communicator. However after visiting this museum, I was reminded about all of the contributions him and Nancy made to this country. The FBI exhibit was also well done on gangsters during the Prohibition era.
Tickets are ridiculously expensive! Pictures too! Library was really fun to visit, lots of great information and easy to navigate and explore. The no photos policy wasn't really enforced which was a bit frustrating, but other than that an enthusiastic staff, welcoming and clean museum, highly informative and enjoyable experience!!
One of the last great Presidents. This museum has it all. My favorite was being able to walk on Air Force 1. The same plane Carter Reagan and Bush flew on.
Amazing! The Reagan Library is such a great way to learn about one of the greatest Presidents in US history. The exhibits here are outstanding. I continue to learn everyone I come back. The library is in a great hilltop location with amazing views. Truly a great venue.
My family and I had a great time on our visit there. My daughter really like the Gipper.
Great location with nice mountain view. Like the exhibitions. #simivalley
A lot of nice exhibits and Air Force One! Friendly "docent" staff are knowledgeable and helpful.
A wonderful, beautiful, interesting library of the BEST President of my lifetime!
The Secret's of WW 2 Exhibit was great and very informative and interesting!
Always a great time to be had!
I’ve been to a few presidential libraries and this is one of the best. About $60 for two people. Free parking. Seeing Air Force One and Marine One was awesome. The FBI exhibit was more impressive than I thought it was going to be with tons of actual artifacts.
Interesting for its historical value and learning about Reagan's life and tenure from the Republican perspective. There are interesting collections and interactive displays, and a walkthrough of the old Airforce 1. There is no critical view of Reagan's policies and their long-term effects, so for that the visitor will have to research elsewhere. General admission is somewhat expensive. The special World War II was not very well thought-out - it is an eclectic mix of storyboards sharing disparate stories and interesting tidbits about the war, but with no obvious common thread connecting the story and with only superficial tidbits of information. It seems like it was designed with the assumption that in the internet era, people can only receive information in small packets and with no depth or nuance. The views to the surrounding Simi Valley hills from the museum and grounds are fabulous.
Grandiouse display of president legacy! Beautiful collection of memorabilia and laws passed into life.
A super cool place to go to if you like history at all and the views around the facility aren't too shabby either. I drug my family here to visit on a trip to the area in 2019. They didn't expect to enjoy it but by the time we left, they all had a great time and learned a few things. My kids really liked seeing the presidential vehicles and going through the old Air Force One as well as the Titanic exhibit that was there at the time. This was the first Presidential library I'd ever been to. Would do it again.
Great place to visit, lots of things to see. Great food. Free parking.
Very well done, beautiful grounds, enthusiast volunteers.
Visit this library, and I promise this is the closest thing to going back in the past. Love this place! It is located on a hill, and even the drive up the hill is cool. This place is lucky to have so many pieces of history. I don't know where to start, but the highlights are the Oval Office Replica. You can tour what President Reagan's office looked like. There is a Marine One Helicopter tour, which you can step inside and take a photo on the steps. There is the "Beast" from the 80's, or the Presidential Limo. Lastly there is Air Force One. You get to tour it and see Reagan's office. It is amazing. There is also a fighters jet, the Berlin Wall, A Cafe, the assassination attempt, many rooms covering his presidency, and the couple's cemetery. The Ronald Reagan library has it all!
Very nice public and gender neutral bathroom I must say, would trickledown piss again!
Very nice Presidential Library. Have been to LBJ's library in Austin, TX and Clinton's in Little Rock. AR. You don't have to be a Reagan fanatic to enjoy this experience as it chronicals such an important time in our country's history. Brought back memories of when people were proud to be American citizens and the world respected the USA. We sure could use a man like Reagan again!! The Air Force One and Marine Corps One exhibits are amazing. The actual 707 that Reagan used is there and can be toured. The model of the Oval Office is very cool. Very friendly staff and nice exhibits and gift shop. Reagan's grave is located on the grounds. A little out of the way in beautiful Simi Valley, but well worth the trip. Lots of free parking. Note: cheaper than the Nixon Library.
This is a wonderful tribute to one of the best presidents in American history in my humble opinion. So much to see and read and learn. Kids today have to pull away from their cell phones long enough to take it all in. Also saw the FBI exhibit soon to be gone. This is a Smithonian quality experience on the West Coast. Thank you for all who support and contibuted this wonderful place. This type of American leadership is becoming more rare. Reagan is a foundation of American leadership that seems nearly forgotten until you come to this place.
I loved this place cause it's a very quiet place and you are able to look around in peace.
An incredible learning experience from a historical perspective. It provides real and detailed insight into the Reagan's political and personal lives. Extremely well laid out and organized. We went when the FBI exhibit was there. Another fascinating journey through American history for this law enforcement agency. Well worth the price of admission.
No words. Place is just great. Visit it. Thats all. Plus view is awesome.
I was surprised by how enjoyable my visit turned out to be. Don’t miss out exploring the Air Force One and Marine One. The site itself was located on top of the hill and it was very beautiful, thankful that it’s spared from the recent fire. There’s also a smaller temporary exhibition that’s included in the entry fee, it’s normally a high-profiled one and also worth checking out.
Give it about 3-4 hours for both exhibits (it’s bigger than I thought!), or even more if you plan to eat at the cafe as well (the scenery is very nice). I only had 2.5 hours to spend there and pretty much had to rush through it.
Visiting this library was a great experience. It doesn't matter your political preference, the library provides great history about the man and our country. I recommend making the trip!
It's a nice library that documents the life and times of one of America's favorite presidents, and it has some really good historical exhibits every year.
The Ronald Reagan library was really easy to get to. The exhibits are very informative. WW 2 exhibit was nice.
A fitting memorial to the president. Only thing missing seemed to be his first wife and any mention of the Ollie North scandal. We may not all be proud of our past, but it's still history.
The Ronald Regan Presidential Library far exceeded my expectations. Not only was the FBI exhibit interesting but also interactive at points. The Ronald Regan exhibit filled with lots of historically significant pieces but also some of his more famous quotes such as "Trust but verify." The most interesting part was getting to walk through Airforce 1 and Marine 1 just thinking about the conversation and decisions that may have happened on these aircraft was thought provoking. Outside of building walls you will also find an F117 the first stealth Aircraft, a F14 and a tank. Finally as you exit you see a piece of the Berlin wall before arriving at the burial site of both Ronald and Nancy Regan.
Amazing Museum/ Library, stunning views. Great way to spent your day.
This is one of the most important museums regarding United States History and Culture. Great exhibits and friendly staff.
We came here recently with the family for another trip to the museum. My father wanted to see the Nile exhibit. Artifacts recovered from the bottom of the river. Really amazing artifacts on display.
The rotating exhibits are always cool but personally I like the various Regan items. If you have never been definitely also check out the Air Force one plane and the HMX helicopter display.
You can go inside and check it out.
Really amazing museum and so important to our presidential history
It's a cool place to be went to see the world war two exhibit my mom older brother was one of the soldiers who pass in Normandie thank you for your service uncle I never. Rest in peace
Way more interesting than I expected. The Oval office was an amazing mock up
Great informative museum of one of our most influential presidents! Beautiful views and tons of information that make you remember just why we liked President Ronald Reagan!
Fun, entertaining. Easy to get turned around in but overall not that bad. The Bistro had closed by the time for lunch but even the staff that worked at closing were polite and friendly.
Just an excellent place to get some history in. Love the place! Good exhibits, fbi exhibit is interesting. Dig the Reagan and USA history and of course the vehicles, helicopter and plane! Section of German wall onsite as well as Ron and Nancy's final resting place.
Great place to learn about a GREAT president. We went in the summer of 2015 and from the pictures you will see the place is spectacular. The AF1 707 is amazing to see and walk aboard. It majestically sits looking over the valley and the story about how they got the plane parked there are fantastic. If you visit Southern California and are the least be interested in recent American history, this place is a must.
Do not miss! Great experience. See Air force One and Marine One. You can walk right through the airplane as well as the helicopter. So many interesting facts about Ronald Reagan. It cost a little more because we went when they had the FBI exhibit
It is a place that has been on my bucket list for years. We finally made it. Spectacular Experience. Whatever your political affiliation is, you'll enjoy learning about the man and the President.
They have excellent exhibits. Current exhibit is the FBI. The library has never disappointed me. There are some interactive exhibits, a section of the Berlin Wall & lots of informative displays. A great place to visit.
Great place I absolutely love it!!!! God bless America 🇺🇲 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 …
More than an homage to a President the library serves as testimony of a President's love of his country. From history to fashion to Air Force One this museum has something for everyone. The special events are always incredible.
Wonderful place to visit. Great special exhibits too. However, Nancy would consider the rose garden a disgrace. Please hire someone who knows rose care. Also, please research the rose named after Nancy Regan and have several planted there. It is now hard to find and you should have it planted there
Love the library.......classy and a thing of beauty with deep respect to President Reagan and First Lady Nancy. It's stunning you have soiled that image with the likes of Rep. Liz Cheney. Reprehensible!
Volunteers are SUPER friendly. Food is great (a bit pricey though). Gift shop is reasonably priced. This is a pretty good museum. They do a great job explaining Reagans life. The air force one exhibit is a must see.
The Pompeii exhibit was fantastic. You can learn so much about the volcanic event, and the life of the past here. Most of the artifacts were very neat and the tour wasn’t too long. It’s something very compelling and interesting.
Additionally, the Reagan section was a great history lesson if you weren’t alive for his administration. They have plenty of information on his pre-presidential life, presidential life, and post presidential life.
The views of Simi Valley and beyond were priceless, and the grounds are well taken care of. It’s worth the price of admission alone. The food was also very good, and fairly priced. I was expecting it to be garbage, but it pleasantly surprised me.
From the views of the valley, to the great exhibits, and the unbelievable Air Force 1 display, this made for a great trip.
P.S. Be wary however, the Pompeii exhibit might frighten small children.
Tremendous experience. Great President. A lot of history.
Been here many times always a fun place to explore and learn something new everytime. Prices for an adult was 29$ seems a little steep for not getting anything more than a sticker to make sure you bought a ticket and a map. The ancient Egypt part was pretty neat. The workers are nice for the most part they seem to get upset if you don’t want to listen to their videos before each room even if you’ve seen them before. Views from the outside are also a nice sight to see.
Being interested in history we knew we didn’t want to miss this, but we had no idea just how great it would be. We arrived early knowing we needed a handicapped parking spot and we were greeted by warm and professional staff. The docents were all so informative and helpful. There were a few school groups there, but all kept under control by attentive staff. We also purchased the $7 self guided tour. Fabulous! The organization and set up from President Reagan’s early life through his years after office is so well done. Walking through Air Force One and Marine Helicopter was informative and a treat! We enjoyed lunch at the pub and the breathtaking views. Pictures at the piece of The Berlin Wall and a moment to pay respects at President and Mrs Reagan’s memorial topped off a very special day.
I believe this is a must for every American and their children for several reasons. None of the reason I state are political. I found it amazing The Love Story between the president and the First Lady, from their humble beginnings until his death. I was amazed at the history of the world and what he had to deal with while being President. But most of all I was fortunate enough to tour the ranch. This humble man from Dixon Illinois and his lovely wife look very humble. I hope you go you look at the man and the love story between he and his wife, you look at the world as it was during that time and what he did his present. The staff there is truly amazing they can answer any question and if they can't they will find somebody who can. I truly walked away with the utmost respect for Ronald Reagan the man and the humble life he lived even after his presidency that they're humble Ranch.
My favorite library in all of California, it’s a great place to learn about our nations history during the cold war. The library is educational for grown ups and little ones, it’s amazing getting to see and learn about president Reagan’s legacy also his personal life. My family really enjoyed going inside the Air Force one a nice experience feeling presidential! The library is located in Simi valley surrounded by nature and hills truly beautiful views. I greatly recommend it for a day out with the family kids learn about our nations history and have fun as well, the ticket price per person is reasonable. I enjoyed taking photos of my family, the exhibitions and the beautiful nature.
Regardless of what you might think about Reagan, this is an amazing place. The view of Simi valley from the back of the library is just stunning. The museum portion of the library has amazing artifacts including the car that Ronny rode in to launch his candidacy.
They also offer the venue for conferences and parties and the like. The Air Force One exhibit is incredible. Rare when you get the chance to get close to something like this. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is a great place to see, because it has an incredible view of the valley area and the interactive pieces in the museum are a lot of fun! The buildings are spectacular, the Air Force One airplane is beautiful and elegant in its own way. Also, the Pompeii exhibit is outstanding! The bodies were just mesmerizing, and the positions were quite frightening when you think about it. I highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't done so already! 🎅🎄
The place was great
I like that there was a lot of info about him.
The presidential museums are excellent. They are designed to tell the story of the person who became president, and how their life impacted and intersected with history. Seeing Airforce One and Marine One was a highlight. It took us 4 hours to go through the museum. We could have easily spent 6. Highly recommended!
Outside of Washington, DC, it is one of the most memorable historic places my family and I have visited.
Plan to stay the greater part of a day because it will easily take one full day to view all the exhibits. The library has so much to offer all age groups - and is a very exquisite walk back in time for parents. All of the employees are fantastic and the cafeteria does not take advantage of the sole place for food. It definitely is not a "tourist trap" like other tourist areas, and the gift shop was fantastic and interesting items for yourself and others.
The surrounding area the library is located is incredibly scenic, and stopping at the library is just a fantastic way to enjoy this area of California.
The huge wing that holds the presidential plane (Air Force One), a presidential motorcade and the presidential helicopter are fascinating. Like the Reagans, everything is in great taste.
Will do positively do again!
Such a beautiful setting. The museum is very interesting and they regularly change out the special exhibits. This time, saw the FBI exhibit. Saw the DaVinci exhibit and others in the past. Never disappointed.
You will definitely learn something about the former president that you didn't know before. Really cool hologram speech show, oval office, and air force one displays. Love how they include section dedicated to fbi too....
My favorite of all the presidential libraries. Beautiful location and great exhibits. Highly recommend.
It's got exhibits, great food, a freaking aircraft, and plenty of grass to run on when you get overwhelmed. Love this place!
This place is awesome. What a wonderful time capsule awaits you inside.
Situated on top of a mountain with 360° views of Simi Valley and all the surrounding rolling hills, the Reagan Library is a superb way to spend a day.
The grounds are immaculate. The library architecture is modeled after his country ranch.
With picnic grounds overlooking the valley, and highway 101 leading to Ventura County, you can relax while enjoying a hot meal cooked to order.
Or if you prefer, you can grab a cold meal, with wine or beer, and dine in the breathtaking Air Force I Pavilion.
The Library is FULL of items, such as the Presidential china sets, the motorcade, the actual 737 AF1 jetliner, and tons of artifacts from Reagan's life.
Nancy gets her fair share of representation too.
There are always major events going on such as book signings from famous people in politics, to historical exhibits from throughout the world, to formal dinner dances, and holiday parties.
I HIGHLY recommend getting a membership as you will want to come back again and again.
Delightful overview of President Reagan from high school onwards; some information about Mrs. Reagan. Air Force One and Marine One very interesting inside. Huge temporary exhibit about World War II.
Great museum! There are some really cool exhibits, a hologram of Regan giving a speech, His Oval Office set-up, the Air Force One, a Marine One, and a WWII exhibit in addition to his early years and exhibits for his political offices.
I had been here several years ago, not long after the Air Force One pavilion was built and really liked it. I returned this time and was pleased to see the exhibits had been updated with lots of interactive displays. This is a well-executed story of a great president and absolutely beautiful setting.
An impressive Presidential library and museum. Getting to walk through Air Force One was very cool. The staff were all very helpful. As an added plus the FBI from Al Capone to Al Queda presentation was interesting and informative.. Over 5500 steps getting around the entire facility. I'd go again.
I love this museum, it is so beautiful, located in picturesque Simi Valley. The exhibits are very informative, walking you through each step of Reagan's life and presidential terms in office. Being able to see the actual Air-force One, and marine one is quite the experience. Even if you are not a fan of his policies, you have to experience the amazing history found here.
It is one of the best presidential library to visit. It has Ronald Reagan life story, his presidency etc. It is also quite good to visit there as Simi Valley is one of the coolest place to go. I am fascinated by the library and the view around it. Strongly recommended for tourist to visit there. I love this place a lot.
Wow wonderful place.nice views. There is something to know and learn here.
Outstanding experience. Beautiful facilities, very friendly staff.
I had multiple moments where my eyes got dusty. As a child/teen growing up during the Reagan era, I was reminded of many events I was able to witness due to President Reagan and his leadership.
I remember being in middle school during his assassination attempt. I remember how it seemed like the whole country paused while waiting to hear if he was going to live.
What struck me most were the quotes from President Reagan written on the walls throughout the library. All of them are good lessons for our politicians now, here in 2020.
Reagan had the ability to stick to his values and do what he thought was best for the country, and do it in such a way that friend or foe alike still respected him.
What a great man. What he did for our country was priceless.
BTW - even my 6 and 10 year old kids LOVED the library, especially Air Force One. My 10 year old daughter got into the history and stories so much we all talked American history on the way home.
Regardless your political affiliation - check this place out. We've all something to learn from President Reagan.
Good experience, love the history of are American president.
Beautiful experience to see and feel what it took to be the president. The ups, downs and in-betweens of the responsibilities.
The office replica, the 1st lady, life of Ronald Reagan as president.
Nice to enter Airforce One and the Marine One. The personnel at the museum were very professional, diligent and helpful to all
Our family had a great time at the Reagan library! There were plenty of interactive exhibits to interest the kids, and the FBI gallery was a lot of fun.
Great learning experience. The displays are in chronological order.
A fantastic surprise! We stopped off on our road trip and were pleasantly surprised. Sir Force one was amazing and the stories of Ronald Reagan's life were a fun walk back into the 80s. Great museum!
I love the presidential libraries and museums. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum is my favorite so far. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The exhibits are interesting and informative. The scope of the exhibits is balanced, i.e. not too detailed and not too high-level. You get to know Reagan at a personal level and learn the foundation of his optimism and policies in the context of world and American history.
I love all the history in the museum. Such a wonderful place to visit.
This was the 1st Presidential Library we visited and I suspect the others will be a letdown in comparison. We went during an off period (end of January) so no problems with parking, purchasing entry tickets or seeing and using any of the interactive exhibits. We did purchase the $7 handheld audio tour device but not sure it was necessary. Enjoyed the tour of Air Force One--not as luxurious as expected but that plane went into service almost 50 years ago. If desired, a photographer will take your picture (5 shots) of you boarding Air Force One. We did purchase 2 of the pics for $31 and felt it was a worthwhile momento. There were 2 places to get lunch but we were short on time so didn't visit. The views of Simi Valley are beyond stunning. Spent about 3 1/2 hours there and felt we saw most everything. If you're in the Los Angeles area, would recommend taking the day to go for a visit.
I was very great full to be able to pay homage to the president at his resting place. I may not have agreed with his politics but I do have to admit there was something special about the “Great Communicator”. I lived through the Cold War and he was one of the pivotal figures in ending it. The museum is a true time capsule. Every American should visit this place. If anything, to increase your awareness of the difficulties and obstacles overcome by this President.
Best presidential Library on Earth! Do much to see.
Truly enjoyed my visit. Great place for family to visit. Would recommend going early due to interesting exhibits. Could easily become an all day experience.
Loved the FBI exhibit. Comprehensive and Detailed with many memorabilia. We toured the entire library afterward and enjoyed a picnic lunch at one of the tables on the grass. A President worthy of honor and a Notable human being.
We knew we weren't gonna make it by closing at 5 pm. We arrived and the parking lot was emptying. We started walking around and found our way to the gift shop and the site of Interment for both the President and Nancy. The view in the back is phenomenal of Simi Valley. One hour later we made our way down the canyon. Obviously it would have been nice to go in but we were pleasantly surprised at what we were able to see at no cost and no crowds.
That was an amazing experience, I was on a road trip with my family and we had to take a pee break and check out some history. And we found the regan memorial, an amazing bathroom, There was plenty of room to pee. This was probably one of my favorite public toilets!
Great Library for a great man. Regardless of your political affiliation there is do much history to explore. Air Force One, a replica of Marine One, limos, police vehicles, etc. They always have special exhibits ( extra cost) that are really great. We have seen the spy exhibit, baseball, etc. We have a membership and go several times a year. The recent fires got too close, they need help with donations to fix the surrounding areas. They are non profit.
A MUST stop if you are in Simi Valley. You can board AF One (used by 7 presidents) and Marine One. Fantastic presidential library which also houses a FBI museum (fascinating cases and Bonnie and Clyde's car riddled with bullet holes). Vast displays including Reagan's oval office. Beautiful grounds. Plan ~3-4 hours. Went on a Saturday and not crowded.
Beautiful campus, friendly staff, and having Air Force One and Marine One indoors make for impressive exhibits. Even the food is tasty. Worth a look for sure.
Wonderful exhibits;(although it certainly overly glorifies the Reagan administration) all exhibits were well displayed and placarded well. The best feature of the visit is definitely the older B707 Air Force One and older Marine One. That was a treat! The docents and staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The library is well maintained and all restrooms are very clean. The Reagan Cafe deserves a highlight. There are a good variety of choices and the prices are reasonable; but, the commendation goes to staff member, Eileen. Eileen is what is missing in today's customer service. As others just go through the motion of service, Eileen embraces it and goes beyond just making you feel like a customer. The welcoming smile and enjoyable banter doesn't take much effort or time but it sure makes an incredible impression. KUDOS to Eileen!
What an amazing place. It's only the second presidential museum I've been to but it sure doesn't disappoint. Fantastic views and amazing exhibits. They're holiday events are really enjoyable as well. The staff couldn't be more friendly or knowledgeable.
We loved it!
We have always loved Ronald Reagan and the values that he stood for. This beautiful museum is an amazing tribute to Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy. His love for God, his wife, and fellow Americans is an inspiration. There was so much more to learn about this incredible man than we thought we already knew. Ronald Reagan's Air Force One plane (which can be walked through) is inside a glass wall building overlooking the valley. A beautiful setting on a hilltop with amazing panoramic views of Simi Valley. Highly recommended!
I have been to six presidential libraries – both Democrat and Republican – and this is by far the best.
It is a well organized and at times epic historical time travel into the legacy of one of our most important presidents. The pavilion containing the Marine One helicopter, former AF One aircraft RR used, presidential limousine and other items is unique from other presidential library. The military vehicles and equipment on the surrounding grounds are a fitting display and tribute to Reagan’s “Peace through Strength” policies, which ended the Cold War.
I would advise that you not be deceived by the partisan-driven reviews of the library, which are generally thinly-veiled excuses to criticize Reagan. They are useless and have nothing to do with the quality or historical efficacy of the library.
If you want to learn more about President Reagan - the truth and not the anti-historical revisionist gibberish fueled by left-wing rancor - this should be your first stop. After visiting and experiencing the history and facts, you can make up your own mind as to where Reagan places in US history.
Love the location, the artifacts and the ability to walk through AF one!
Give yourself plenty of time 3-4 hours. Staff is amazing. Shout out to Lucas (originally from Dayton) (from Lebanon OH) pizza on our next visit!!
Thank you for suggesting membership. It will come in handy very soon.
The museum and exhibits are so uplifting and inspiring. It is a beautiful location. Everything has a story and meaning, even the food in the cafeteria. Take the time read everything.
It's situated on top of a hill in Simi Valley that provides panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside. The displays are educational and there something to learn for kids and adults alike. They also have various rotating exhibits (most of which charge a fee) but the one around Christmas time is certainly a delight for the kids. Besides the displays and exhibits, the whole venue is relaxing and beautiful- it's a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you live in the area it's welll worth getting a membership (plus it's tax deductible). The entire staff there is especially friendly and helpful. We love this place.
Great experience walking through the Library. The place has plenty of photos, document, films, and artifacts that show a timeline of President Reagan's life and accomplishments. The Library features great views of the surrounding landscape, the real Air Force One that Reagan and several other presidents flew in, he and Nancy's graves, and even a piece of the Berlin Wall. I highly recommend people go to this place.
Beautiful place to visit, with recent history well displayed. From a piece of the Berlin wall to the final resting place of president Reagan. Don’t forget to board Air Force One and Marine One!
After visiting the Nixon library I had to come here. This place is definitely worth the price of admission as well you can see the Egyptian museum as of this writing. Amazing president with an amazing life. I always get teary eye. So much love and passion and respect towards his wife. Definitely what marriage should be. Have to admit I needed more time to see everything but I'll be back some day and try and see everything. The tour of the airforce 1 is totally worth the wait.
The current FBI exhibit was amazing, very comprehensive. The President Reagan museum was so so compared to some of the other presidential museums I have been and it was considerably more expensive!
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library was one of the most amazing and enlightening experiences of my entire life. I know that sounds like a bit much, but it's one of those things you have to experience for yourself. My wife and I absolutely loved this place! And it wasn't what either of us expected. We walked in expecting just another museum, but it was so much more than that! It was a reverant display of the powerful legacy of one who lived a life of integrity, honesty, confidence, humility, authenticity, and love. My wife and I were moved to tears many times due to the genuine and weighty atmosphere that this place carried. But overall, my favorite part was the education. We didn't know much about Reagan's life and presidency, but we left informed and were imparted with a greater measure of wisdom. It was a delight to learn about th world during his presidency. But the one thing that made the greatest impact was seeing a beam from the World Trade Center. This was painful to see and was a reminder of what that terrible day, causing me to be a little more grateful to be alive. And to end it all are the views all around the place. Excellent vistas! This place is truly a must see, no matter your political affiliations.
Very much enjoyed our visit. Stunning grounds, displays, and facilities, as well as friendly helpful staff. Excellent value, too. Very impressive and highly recommended.
A very well organized and insightful museum! If you live in the area and haven't gone yet, do it! You get to go inside the Air Force One and see how it looked during Ronald Reagan's presidency. Loved seeing the Oval Office too, it was set up and included furniture from Reagan's time. The museum has a nice flow and the staff are nice and know information other than the library rules.
My wife and I were in the area and drove up to Simi Valley and absolutely loved everything about the museum. Air Force one, the Oval Office and all the history was really cool to see and hear. We spent several hours there enjoying the displays and the breath taking views outside. Highly recommend to anyone.

No matter what your political views, this is a great museum with a lot of historical items and great exhibits. The Da Vinci exhibit was amazing and much larger than I anticipated. The museum includes many unexpected exhibits (at least I was not expecting to see them!). Well worth the trip. Arrive early to get a parking space, otherwise you’ll have to park on Presidential, walk up the hill or take a shuttle. We arrived at 11am on a Wednesday and had to circle the lot a few times to get a space. When we left, around 2pm, visitors had to park on the street. Just FYI.
Outstanding!
From boarding Air Force One and Marine One, to an exact replica of the Oval Office (they didn't miss a detail), the special exhibits and the Berlin Wall, this is well worth a visit. Set your politics aside and take the opportunity to see and be a part of history. The docents have plenty of stories to share and are very knowledgeable. Plan for at least 3.5 hours of walking. They do offer wheelchairs for those who cannot walk for a long time.
It doesn't matter your political leanings (we don't lean with Reagan/GOP), it is worth stopping here if you are in the vicinity of Simi Valley. It's amazing to visit one of the presidential historical sites, and the setting chosen for the Reagan Memorial is gorgeous overlooking Simi Valley. We stopped there en route from LA to San Francisco before we had kids. We'd love to take our kids there in a couple years so they can experience it.
Beautiful location to house so many amazing artifacts. Very well done
Love this place. Very educational. There is a lot to see. There are special exhibits occasionally throughout the year. NFL to Star Wars, the special exhibits have a great quantity of memorabilia and facts about them. Seeing how the president went from college football player to actor to president is a great way to relate and feel connected to the past. You can set foot in the Air Force One of Reagan's administration and even see fighter jets.
Beautiful view of the surrounding mountains, good food at the cafe to eat on the patio and enjoy with family. Docents are very knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely worth getting a membership to enjoy anytime.
Not only is it relatively close to the people in Ventura county, but it is a great opportunity to learn more about one of our presidents! There’s a big plane inside the library and you can go in it! That’s my favorite part! They also have the limos and police vehicles used during the Reagan era on display! All though the exhibit is different all the time, they always have an exhibit in addition to all the normal stuff! When I went back in December, the Pompeii exhibit was on display! That was truly a work of art! They had the bones and remains from Pompeii on display! They also had a simulation room of the volcanic eruption! I personally love the Christmas time because they put out all the Christmas trees and stuff! The cafe is good , but nothing remarkable. There’s a few foods to choose from but, the selection is quite limited and not very diverse. To me it’s not really like a full restaurant, its more so like a cafeteria. The foods they do have though do taste good and are of good quality! The plot of land the Reagan library is on is really beautiful! Its got a view of moorpark and Thousand Oaks! Its also very high up off the ground too! Overall, I would come back here again!
Very interesting day out. To make the most of it, you WILL need a full day (get there early). Hopefully there won't be droves of school kids there when you go. Thankfully we arrived about the same time as several buses were disgorged of their young cargo so we could do the special Pompeii exhibit while the sprogs were taking in the Reagan side of things. By the time we came out of the Pompeii exhibit and had a quick lunch, all was quiet in the Reagan part of the library.
Awesome experience!!!! I have been many times, and have enjoyed it every time. I have also brought out of town family members and they have had a great time as well! It is an honor to visit this library because of the great legacy that Ronald Reagan has left all Americans!! A must see for fans and foes alike.
The Reagan library was much larger than expected, and included the Lost Cities of Eqypt exhibit that was very interesting. I took my 14 year old grandson and we both enjoyed the Reagan displays, which included the Airforce One, Boeing 707, that he flew 660K miles in his meetings with many world leaders. A very enjoyable time.
Truly Inpressive! The Wall Memoirs, Statues and especially Air Force One alongside the Photos of Time Past is a Revealing of History up close.
I was there a couple of years ago. It gives a great insight into his life before he was president as well as events during his terms. I think he was the greatest Pres you guys ever had. One of his speeches was playing from early in his term and it brought chills remembering the fear we felt in those times. If I go to any of the other libraries I expect they will fall short of this experience.
The library was much better than I was expecting. The museum was a very well laid out and interesting journey through the life and presidency of Ronald Reagan. They had a lot of items from both his youth and and presidency on display. The highlight of the tour is being able to walk through Air Force One.
Definitely worth it! Amazing all the way around! Too many positives to say in such short space! You go t to go check it out yourself! I loved it! 🎵🎵 …
If you pay attention to the negative reviews, they are all very clearly politically motivated and do not give an accurate picture of the library. So, let me try to give an objective review: (1) The locations is spectacular, w/a marvelous view of Simi Valley high above the rolling heals. (2) The grounds are peaceful, quite, relaxing, very "presidential". (3) The architecture and exhibits are world class. (4) A fully furnished oval office is recreated full scale. (5) You can walk through Air Force One and Marine One, see Reagan's limo, etc. (6) There are detailed and interactive displays from Reagan's childhood, acting career (props and costumes), governorship, and presidency. (7) There are gifts from all over the world from various leaders and dignitaries on display. (8) There is also part of the Berlin Wall, the collapsed World Trade Center, Reagan's grave, etc. (9) Often, there are temporary exhibits of great interest. Recent exhibits have included cars from the Peterson Automotive Museum, artifacts from George Washington, etc. etc. (10) Tour guides and volunteers are knowledgeable and friendly (11) Admission is very reasonable. The Reagan Library is a must see if you are in this area.
This is my second time. The first time was great. This time was disappointing as I brought someone from Florida who was so looking forward to seeing the Library. The problem with today...a weekday...was there was an over abundance with kids on a field trip visiting. The Staff was rude to us as one of the fellow staffers asked him if this couple could pass through the student crowd...the response from the staffer was...GOOD LUCK!! I promote kids visiting but the staff just roads over any lingering people...we did not enjoy the library the way we should have...the only peace we got was to enjoy lunch out overlooking Simi Valley. My advice to those visiting during school visits...DON'T!!
And...the staffers attack you at the front entrance to sell upscale donations. I never had this at Bush's Libraries...it's annoying. So my first experience was great as is why I recommended someone fly across the country to see it...I will not make that mistake again.
Nice trip. Interesting information.
Our daughter and her friends absolutely loved the interactive exhibits that recently ended. There is always something new however and really, it's pretty hard to see it all in a day. That makes for another reason to return. Prices shouldn't shock anyone, it's not a free public library and you should know that up front. Yes, parking is limited but there is a shuttle and it runs on a schedule. Once again, this is not a secret. Really a must see if you're in the area and can spend a whole day to take your time and enjoy it.
I’ve had the pleasure of visiting all of the presidential libraries under the US National Archives and Reagan’s is by far the most breathtaking of them all. The views of Simi Valley are incredible and the privacy of the library can be very relaxing on a nice Summer day. I would visit again, bring a book and “camp out” on a bench just enjoying all that Mother Nature has to offer.
Beautiful place! Lots to see, especially Air Force One, helicopter, Presidential vehicules, Nancy Reagan gowns worn to White House events, etc...Very interesting & informative Library & Museum. Loved it!
this really is more a celebration of all things Reagan than a history museum that I would enjoy more. That the first gallery is titled "Evolution of the Great Communicator" tells you what it is going to be like. I liked the Nixon library much better. It was a great history of his presidency.
What a very informative and well done museum. We visited the area while on vacation and found it to be a worthwhile decision
Great place to remember Ronnie. He was a great president. Aspirational. Not divisive.
Wonderful experience. We got there at 1pm they close at 5pm. 4 hours is just not enough time to spend. In the near future we will be back and spend at least 6 hours. Much to see and enjoy.
A place to take my guests. Walking inside the air force one it’s an amazing experience. The cars used by the presidents and the museum itself is worth a visit. I been there few times and will continue to take my guests there. Love USA.
Visited whilst on business from UK and must admit it was a great exhibition of his life and the way they lead you on his journey is very touching. The Air Force One plane was great but even his suit that he was shot in was particularly surreal. The views are out of this world, and no wonder he wanted to be laid to rest there. Well done Simi Valley.
This place was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend and I will go back. Regardless of your politics, there are so many fascinating displays, artifacts and pieces that bring the history to life. When you can see things in person vs. reading about it, or watching it on TV, it is just a whole other experience. The sounding hillside and gardens are so peaceful and quiet. The views are gorgeous. I highly recommend to go visit. Take your family and enjoy it. Please be respectful.
I would hope you take the time to bring your family, children and friends to the Ronald Reagan museum.
Whaonderful about the mmuseum the history of our former President. The love the President and the First Lady shares together was precious. I was fortunate enough to visit the Reagan family Ranch. What I found most precious was how humble the home and interior of the ranch was. It truly was a humble home.
I would hope you all would put politics aside and go to see and hear about the man, his loving wife and of course the history of the world while he was President.
I believe you will walk away with and understanding of just how precious of a love story Ronald and Nancy were. And the stress at that time in history being President was.
My first Presitentail library to visit, I found it fascinating, insightful and very peaceful. If you're looking for entertainment or amusement you'd be better off at Disneyland. If you're interested in broadening your knowledge of global events and uncovering interesting details about President Reagan and those connected to him you most certainly won't be disappointed. Very well worth my time!
So much to do. We spent 4 hours and only saw about half of it. Very extensive collection!
It's nice to visit the library of a great American President.
I really enjoyed the library. This is probably my favorite one. While I didn’t always agree with President Reagan, I was always inspired by his belief in the greatness of America. This is a great place to learn more about the 1980s.
Beautiful place to go...!! 6-15-21
The life of Ronald Reagan was well documented and displayed chronologically as I recall - from his early life, film career, marriage and letters to Nancy, to his love of horses, and career in Government. One of the best Presidential libraries I have visited.
Sweetheart Dinner and Dance was amazing! Took the hubby for Valentine's Day and we were very impressed with everything. From the decorations, to the live band, and the delicious spread, I honestly couldn't believe what a bargain this was. Great way to avoid the V-Day crowds and have a delicious meal and some quality time with your significant other. Highly recommend!
One of the most important places to visit when you can. A very important part of the Americans way of life. With out his hand in (my) life. Most of us would be under a different government. Not a good one. A great place for Americans to teach your child and grandchildren, why we and they have freedoms that other countries want. He made our country strong again. He had strong family faith and family values. Thank God.
Walking through this museum is a time capsule of a memorable era and an extraordinary man who changed history for the better. Perched atop the city of Simi Valley, is this monument to that shining city on a hill that Ronald Reagan hoped for this country to be.
The exhibits include a replica of the oval office in the White House when Reagan was there; the air force one pavillion; the Berlin Wall slab exhibit; the 1980 and 1984 campaign exhibits; and so much more to see, hear, and experience.
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is an immersive experience for young and old alike; a place to learn about what life was like once; an opportunity to teach youth about what it can be if we uphold our founding fathers' principles and constitution.
This place is awesome. It's a a little bit of a drive if you're coming from anywhere in LA area since it is situated in Simi Valley. However, this drive is worth it since it is a great way to spend a day exploring the library and rest of the property.
A wonderful visit. It was worth every penny spent. It must be the best presidential library.
First presidential library we have visited. We were not disappointed. Location and museum are amazing. I would highly recommend.
Excellent! The museum was easy to navigate, and we had a great time exploring the life of a great president. The scenery outside was also wonderful. Expect to spend 4-5 hours for an entire experience.
Quite possibly the finest 20th century President, the Ronald Reagan Library is worth the visit for critics and admirers alike. A master stroke of museum presentation you will follow the former President through his earlier years through his terms as governor and all the way to the Oval Office and the pivotal decisions that brought an end to the Cold War. The old Air Force one is also there and he walkthrough is worth the long line. Views outside overlooking the valley are stunning. Marine One is also there (but spoiler, it’s actually Lyndon Johnson’s). A fantastic gift store rounds out a gripping experience and great fun for political buffs and passive tourists alike.
An incredibly accurate and professional presentation of the life and presidency of the greatest president of modern history!
Best Presidential Library I've ever visited.
Don't walk by the movie presentations. You'll learn so much history and historical perspective from them.
Everyone should visit this wonderful Presidential Library and museum.
Great exhibits, friendly people. If you are handicap and the parking lots are full you will need to park down a long hill that has a barricade on the passenger side of the car making it difficult to get out. There are shuttles, but you have to climb over the barricade to get to the sidewalk and then back over the barricade to get into the shuttle. There needs to be more signage as to options for the handicap to park.
Great place to visit. Very well done. Kept up to date. Better than the Clinton Library.
Beautiful grounds, kind and helpful staff. The Egyptian exhibit was very well staged. The recreation of the Oval Office exceeded expectations and getting to be in Air Force One was eye opening.
Great place to go and see history at it's finest. They change their special exhibits all the time too. It would take a whole day to go around and see the exhibits.
Very informational. Got to see the Air Force One and FBI exhibit and it was so amazing! Staff are really knowledgeable and willing to ask any questions.
Simply amazing. President Reagan picked the perfect spot of his Library - truly a reflection of who he was as a person and president. The highlights are the replica of the oval office, Air Force One and Marine One as well as the Berlin Wall exhibit. Go early as the parking lot gets full quickly.
Enjoyed very much. It displays what a great man he was. Highly recommend it.
Great place to learn about the life of each president and their administration - in this one we get to learn about Reagan. Great for kids to learn and be familiar with government.
This is a very popular tourist attraction meaning that this place gets crowded. Arrived before they open and still had to wait in line to get in. Some of the things I found of interest were the Pompei exhibit, Air Force One, and the surrounding gardens. Listening to president Reagan again brought back a lot of memories. Whether you believe in his politics or not, you have to say that President Reagan was a great communicator. This is one of the nicer Presidential Libraries and also one of the bigger ones. Docents ready and willing to answer all questions makes your visit special. On the negative side, I did feel like a steer in the herd. Recommended.
Very well done chronology of Ronald Regan's presidency. The main hall with Air Force One was impressive. Wish I had made prior arrangements to look at the papers in the private research library. Definitely worth the trip.
A beautiful library during a time that is most memorable for me in my young adult life. A beautiful view from every angle. Airforce One and all of the Presidential vehicles are wonderful to see. Fabulous seasonal exhibits! Well thought out.
Plenty info and knowledge are provided here. So happy to have a closer look of my favor President !
Very nice and well reserved museum . It is also a great place to spend a whole day with family here. A must go and visit museum.
Great tours, Beautiful views, and outstanding to spend some hours there. Cafe, store, free parking, paid tours, Air Force One on site and you walk in it. Always temp displays like Titanic show there till Jan 2018. Walk around outside for free and free to enter store. Free to see Berlin Wall outside as will as resting site for President Reagan and his First Lady, outside and free. You may book events there too. Close to hiking that you pass on the way up and down from you visit. You'll see a chain across a road to a water tank, but hike past the tank and to a 20' white Cross overlooking the Reagan Library, Simi Vally, Wood Ranch, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks. Open sunrise to sunset. This is a free walk.
It's a must to see this beautiful Library!
Fantastic experience, so many interesting things to see and beautifully laid out. Very friendly and knowledgeable guides. Scenery is absolutely stunning.
We have been to the Ronald Reagan library several times and have always enjoyed it tremendously. A great tribute to the best president of modern times. We will be visiting again in 2018 and will be bringing along some friends to share the experience with them.
This was so cool. I've lived in so cal for over 20 years and never thought it was worth visiting until I visited my parents. Go to thr FBI exhibit while it's still there!
We went to the Da Vinci exhibit and it was honestly boring if you aren’t mechanically minded. The models are cool but the explanations are all about how the exhibit builders interpreted his notebooks. It was overly technical, dry, and not interactive at all.
I wanted more historical context, more “in action” demos of these models, and more interactive activities. The structural engineer in our group loved the exhibit. Everyone else did not feel the same way. So, if you’re really into mechanics you’ll enjoy it. If you’re not you may want to skip this one.
