Reviews of David Owsley Museum of Art
Very unique museum to visit & I'm lucky cause it's in my hometown of Muncie... The architecture outside & inside of this museum is amazing 👏
Love this museum! More Ball State Students should take advantage of the awesomeness right on their campus. I always have an amazing time when I visit and get to see beautiful art. They have events all year round that are well constructed by their dynamite team! So happy to be so close to DOMA and the amazing art it brings to BSU!
Absolutely massive museum I can't wait to go back and walk through again, and share more pictures.
Good variety of art in a beautiful building. Free. Metered parking $1 per hour a short walk away on Riverside and University.
A very nice collection of art to look at, it is a hidden gem in Muncie no doubt. There is free street parking in the old quad on the weekends too.
OMG!!!This museum is so interesting and easily navigated! There are a plethora of artifacts in this museum that it would probably take at least three days to read through everything. It's extremely neat, clean and sanitary. Little children would most likely need to visit elsewhere, if looking to be entertained. The architecture of the building is as fascinating as its contents! So, if you're looking for things to do in spare time or looking to enrich yourself with the history of our world, this is the place to go! (It might even be romantic for some 😉).
A beautiful museum with a diverse collection. A great place for the local art students to draw.
The DOMA is a great museum, well taken care of, and meticulously upkept. They create a few different rotations every year to showcase a number artists, styles, and cultures.
Outstanding museum on the campus of Ball State University. You can easily spend several hours here. Wonderful collection of Hindu and Buddha statues. They offer self guided tours and a few audio pieces.
Cool and relaxing place to visit. Lots of nice art.
It's definitely one of campus's hidden gems, which is ironic considering how many people know about it. Oddly enough, it is also the home of the Geology department, with awesome displays to be found on the first floor below the museum itself. (It's got an Allosaurus skull and "scale models" of dinosaurs.) The museum itself is filled with art both beautiful and strange. Even the "modern" art is enjoyable, and I went in completely expecting to hate that area. The staff is polite, but firm, so I know the artifacts are being taken care of. If you haven't gone, you should go, even if you aren't into art museums in general. It's my favorite place on campus.
Great museum! I love the variety of art. If you’re more drawn to modern art or renaissance art or ancient peoples, there’s something for you here. I have to say that this museum made me like museums. Before I started coming here and contemplating the artwork, I was confused as to why even go to one. David Owsley Museum of Art is a place you’ll want to linger.
A must visit place indeed. Even for those who have never been to a museum, this place has a great vibe to go along with all of the amazing pieces. Nicely laid out. Everyone will find a room that will intrigue them. Perhaps the beauty of the past will intice one to look at things in a whole new light. It i not only free, but easy to find, enjoy, and appreciate.
This museum is incredible. It's run by people that are passionate about art and history. They strive to bring the most unique and interesting pieces of art to the forefront of their collection, and it shows. I really recommend giving yourself and hour or two and just getting lost in their massive collection.
Never that busy, but a gem regardless. I was very surprised by the collection and curation of the exhibits. Some are a little "loud" and meandering, but as an on campus activity its excellent.
I love that we have an art museum in campus! There are interesting displays that make for a very educstional experience. There are plenty of events offered; one of my favorites is Meditation in the Museum. It's a guided meditation session in the Asian Art Room. It happens on Friday afternoons--plus it's free and open to the public!
Spectacular museum! Ball State is so fortunate to have it. Every time we visit our daughter here, we make sure to visit the museum.
A real gem in this community. Free and open to the public! Moms and Dads.....take your kids! Expand their horizons and see what they think of a rather high end small collection. Building is killer pretty too! Walk around in the parts of the building that aren't the art museum.
Stately facility with a legitimate collection of paintings and sculptures from a variety of schools and periods. Many pieces are centuries old. Free and open to the public.
A beautiful collection, a nice quiet place to explore in Muncie. Free admission is a big plus!
The wide variety of art and culture that you can find at DOMA is unbelievable for a university the size of Ball State. IU and Purdue, the two largest public universities in Indiana, have nothing like this. There is literally something from every inhabited continent and every historic time period in this museum.
It has some interesting exhibits I would reccomend going this month they are featuring Andy Warhol and pop artists
A very close knit muesum to me, you can get cozy with it. Student workers are nice, art work is cool and they change some exhibits every now and then to keep it interesting.
Lovely museum. They have a good chunk of art from many eras. Not super accessible for friends with disabilities, but they're actively working on improving this aspect.
I will forever love DOMA and make a point to visit when I am in Muncie. Great art and well curated special exhibits. This place has a puece of my heart. Plus it's free!
Great, small museum with representative world art. As usual in s college town, parking is a bit of a challenge. A parking garage is available fairly nearby. It's entrance is on Ashland, just off McKinley,
It's more than I expected both in quality and size. It reminds me of the ima, but smaller. Lots of religious art from both western and eastern traditions. Make the trip if you are in the muncie area. You won't be disappointed!
Very nice variety of art on display tastefully
An enjoyable experience viewing an assorted collection of art plus an exhibition of local architectural drawings
a wonder of a museum. if nothing else of ball state but this museum remains in the future, i will be satisfied. great works of art all around. a beautiful collection.
A very fine museum with a wide variety of art styles. Well worth a visit.
A hidden gem in Muncie! This place has a wonderfully diverse collection of artwork and it's completely free. You need to go!
This is a hidden gem. They have a wonderfully varied collection. We really enjoyed the Indiana artists exhibits.

Everyone should take part and visit, a prue hidden gem, some of the finest art in the World is here. Ball State has done it right with it's collection.
Beautiful art museum on the campus of Ball State University. Houses a large collection of art from all over the world.
It's a good art museum, may be somewhat lacking in volume. Mostly focused on fine art.
Nice little campus museum. I love the changing exhibits.
An exception collection especially in European painting and Asian artifacts
Very good
I nice meseum but they unfortunately have a bit of a limited variety of art. I wider range would be nice to see.
I love that the DOMA has rotating exhibitions. .. looking forward to it's reveal later this month!
Love the variety of art here.
This museum is exceptional, so surprised something this great is at a smaller college like Ball State.
Amazing collections, it's so easy to get wrapped up in. It's also free for students.
