What an asset for the Mississippi Gulf Coast! We took my 2 yr old grandson at the discounted price after 3pm not knowing if it would be worth it or have enough to entertain him. We will be purchasing a membership & frequenting! He was mesmerized at all the interests he enjoys just his size which enabled him to engage his imagination …the trains, boats, crane, slide & paint were all a hit! Every staff member was amazing. Highly recommend especially if you are looking for an activity away from the heat and electronics this summer!

My kids loved this place! So many interactive displays and games. We stayed for several hours. Many people had memberships. It's nice that you can go in the morning and then go eat lunch and come back you just need to save your receipt for re-entry.

Lynn Meadows is a great place to take your younger kids to spend the day. The inside area is setup in the cutest sections. Each individual section has costumes that can be worn to really make this an immersive experience. Once we looked in all the sections inside we went outside to play in the tree houses and run around. Finished off the afternoon by going back inside to cool down and do some watercolor art in the art room.

Awesome place for kids to learn and play! I wish they had a discount rate for parents of littles since you have to stay with them, but it was worth the $20 for my son (2 1/2) and I to play for a couple hours. Plus, admission is good all day, so hopefully we can go back after nap time. Wish we lived closer to get an annual membership, would definitely be worth it!

This is our favorite place to take our kids in Mississippi. We drive from Hattiesburg just to go. There is so much to do for kids of all ages and they have it spread out enough so kids don't get crowded up. The upstairs area is our favorite with the sensory room and the exercise area. It is worth getting a membership because you will definitely want to come back.

We’ve brought our kiddos as toddlers and were really impressed, now at 5 & 6 it took a little creative motivation but they still managed to enjoy themselves. It’s a bit difficult to wrap your head around $32 with some of the attractions needing repair but hopefully that’s in the grand plan, I’d cut back on salary and improve both the outdoor and indoor activities.

Awesome childrens museum! Several hands on stations for kids (and parents) to do from space, hotel, grocery store, tv set and more! They also have tree houses. We visited while on vacation. If you have kids aged 10/12 and under def check it out.

This was a fun time. On their website it has 2 years and under for the discounted price, but when we got there they said 12 months. So, be prepared for that. Some of their items and play areas are outdated but it doesn't stop the kids from having a good time.

Brought my youngest two here to play. My two month old snoozed through the entire experience, but my 2 year old son was in heaven! He loved the trains, planes, space crafts, boats, etc that he could get in and pilot. The outdoor treehouses were also a big hit with him. The employees were very helpful and pleasant!

Grandma and Grandpa experience with three year olds twins.....a great place for the little ones to come check out all the experiments, hands on stuff. For the older folks it's a fabulous place to let them go crazy and wear themselves out.

My family and I went to celebrate my three year olds birthday and she had so much fun exploring. The exhibits have her plenty to play with in a safe environment. He younger brother could even join in the fun at the 4 and under area. Great for burning your kids energy. We only stayed for two hours but got to see a lot of the center. Definitely recommend for families with young children. Older kids can have fun too. We'll be trying to come back to check out more of what they offer here. Update: There are several new areas that were added since the last time we came. A sensory place and a STEM area. My kids really enjoyed running around and exploring.

Just went to a lovely kids Mardi Gras parade with a live second line band! All the kids had floats and we had a blast! So much fun and our little one clapped and laughed the entire time. Great place with areas for all ages. Nice outdoor play area, museum, and tons of activities.

Great place to take the kids for a couple hours. My kids 6 yr old thru 11 yr old had a blast. Great views of the water. Multiple tree houses to burn some kid energy. Plenty of activities inside. Seemed safe and clean. Well worth the visit.

We took our children and my grandparents to enjoy the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, and I honestly can't tell you which had more fun, my 78 and 84 year old Grandparents were just as interactive and smiling with all of the exhibits as my 7 and 8 year old, and it could not have made for a better afternoon.

Lynn Meadows is a very awesome place! First if you go there and know your gonna go back get a membership it’s worth it. When my kids get old enough I’m thinking about putting them in their camp. The staff is excellent and they do events for kids that’s amazing! They do a New Year’s Eve event that just for families with a count down and balloons just the works! I really can’t explain how wonderful this place is, just a must see!

This place is amazing! We travel full time & go to lots of children’s museums & science centers, & this is easily one of the best! There are outdoor & indoor play spaces, everything is VERY clean, the staff all smiled & greeted us with warmth, & the sections are well thought out with just the right amount of stuff - not so much that it is overstimulating or so little that kids are easily bored. We stayed for two hours & only left because we needed to get lunch. Both of my kids were sad to leave. They also give a 50% discount with reciprocal memberships, though I’m not sure if they are part of ASTC or ACM since our membership is part of both.

Lots of outdoor space to run and explore, and enough fun things inside to make it a good destination on those rainy days when the kids need to run off some energy. Perfect for ages 1 to around 9, I would say, but older kids might get bored pretty fast. Still a good place for family fun.

Staff is friendly. Facility is reasonably clean at all times. They have a separate, gated area for toddlers. Other exhibits are a veterinary area, train, boat/packing area, art room, plane/safari, shoe shining, hat shop, dress up, hotel, grocery store, news room, green screen, and a science room (I think I've named everything). They also have an outside play cafe, tree houses, picnic tables, a story walk,outdoor instruments and more. There is a kids street with small houses and ride on cars. The outside areas are beautiful! Good, educational play. Fun events. My daughter loves it. Their membership pays for itself over and over with how often we go here!

There is so much for kids to do here. My granddaughter loved it. We easily spent 2 hours here and she wanted to stay longer. There's 2 floors of different stations for kids to play at and there's more stuff outside. There's also a gift shop which was pretty affordable.

We attended for a birthday party so I can't really speak towards prices as I didn't have to pay but I do know my kids loved it and had a blast and all I could think about afterwards was how have we not already brought them here before now we had to leave early for another commitment but we were there for about 2 hours and there were things to do that we didn't even get to, It's mow been over a week since we went and they can't wait to go back.

One helpful lady working in gift shop showed wife to breastfeeding area. Indoor Train above head wasn't working. Wooden outdoor train was closed down for repairs. Theater isn't included in the field trip. Didn't honor the military discount. Allowed some people to bring monster energy drinks in which we saw spilt on table & ground (after saying we had to throw our coffee with a lid away @ time of entry). News station didn't work properly (broken switches), science area was missing correct wooden blocks, and tried to promote LGBT in educational materials.

If you live on the Mississippi gulf cost and you have children between 12 months - 10 years, you need to check this place out!! They have so many things for kids to do! Art, trains, boat replica, construction equipment replica, climbing, treehouses, tea time, piano, a taste of africa, I know I'm missing tons of stuff! They offer a free friday, the last friday of every month from 5-8 pm. Free! Other than that, check their website for details. Currently, folks with an ebt card can get a steep discount on ticket prices. If I had it to do over again, I'd come after lunch on the last Friday of the month, and pack snacks, in case we stayed through to shut 'er down at 8pm. There's so much to do, I'll bet we could've easily stayed for more than 5 hours. I love this place!!

This is a great place to take your children to play. There are lots of interactive exhibits and crafts for kids inside, and they have a large outdoor area with tree houses and room to roam and play. Staff is wonderful. They also have a special area for the younger kids on the first floor.

LMDC is an amazing place to bring your kids! There is plenty of fun to be had both inside and outside of the center. I prefer to go when it is not so hot outside in order to fully enjoy everything the center has to offer on the outside.

Daughter really enjoyed it. Only downside is there was a birthday party so it was very packed. Kids were running around like crazy and some parents did not seem to care when bigger kids were being mean to the smaller kids. Daughter is only 4 and loved the small kid play area.

My amazing daughter threw the cutest little party for her precious son’s very 1st Birthday here! It was absolutely perfect for all of the children who attended and the parents of course loved it as well. This place is very clean, the staff is helpful and friendly. There is so much for the little ones to enjoy even my 1 year old grandson. I love to watch them as their imaginations go wild and their eyes are so full of wonder and excitement as they play in each little exhibit. The cost was reasonable considering everything this venue has to offer. We look forward to taking him back as well as all of his cousins for years to come!

I have a 2 year old and she absolutely loved this! This was worth every penny! We haven’t found much to do with here in this town but this is worth the membership! She loved the train, the central climbing, the indoor slide, the mini shopping area, the space shuttle, the outdoor treehouses, and so many other areas! The staff was friendly and also frequently sanitizing the areas and high touch toys! This place is just what we needed and we will definitely return probably weekly now!

I brought my younger brother who is autistic and can get overwhelmed this was such a pleasant experience with plenty to little kids and older kids to do. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because several attractions out of service or in need of repair--most of which seemed like fairly straight forward fixes, so I'm not sure why they were not addressed. Otherwise it was still well worth the visist--especially for the last friday of the month free admission (5-8p).

My 19 month old went nuts (in a good way) in here. Favorite spot was the Lite Brite wall on the back of the top floor. She also loved the grocery store. We live about 1.5 hours away but I am willing to make the drive because the exhibits are so well thought out and engaging. Afterward, we got some popsicles and ate outside in the sun while my niece and nephew ran around in the tree house. We had a group of kids from 5 down to 19 months and they all had a great time . Remember to eat before though! No food inside (which is understandable. )

It's a really great visit for a few hours are least for any child to discover. I was considering getting a pass, but to be honest, after a while they run out of things to play with. We've been to ones that have a lot more. Still a great visit and well worth it!

This place was a blast, WELL worth $15 for two kids - they were instantly engaged by the exhibits when it was time to go they didn't want to leave and when we got outside they wanted to know when we were coming back - making us promise to take them back the next day. The airflow physics station was awesome, though the controls should be farther apart. Maybe they might add more complications to this one - extend the tubing to go around the room in longer loops to encourage cooperation between children - but we're headed back for the Halloween Fun Festival. Seriously I would bring kids 3-12 here before Six Flags - they were ecstatic and we didn't even finish all the stations - educational and fun. 10/10

This place is absolutely worth the visit. There's a 2 story inside exibit and a 2 acre fully fenced in outside exhibits. My 9yr old daughter would stay All day if we let her. This will be our new family day visiting activity.

We have been members here for over 4 years and live an hrs away. So worth the stop while on the coast. Can keep the kids occupied all day. They have indoor and outdoor exhibits that are always updated. We also go for events like plays, teddy tea, Halloween parties and New Years!

We visited during thanksgiving holiday. I had the opportunity to bring my grand daughter to the same place I brought her mom a decade before. Place was clean, staff friendly and all the exhibits were in good working order. I highly recommend this for kids 13 and under.

We love this children's museum. It's small but full of fun activities for the kids. We prefer this children's museum over the others in our area because of the layout and great outdoor activities. Unlike the New Orleans Children's museum it doesn't seem overwhelming for the younger tots and the staff is super friendly

Cool place to take the kids and escape the heat, although some things are broken there(construction crane, bubble maker outside). The kids still had a good time, though. I recommend going during the cheaper time windows to make it more worth it. Only spent a couple hours there and felt that was plenty of time to experience what they had. Overall, I would recommend if you have younger kids.

Highly recommend! Lots of space for kids to walk and play. Museum has 2 floors of interactive exhibits. 1st floor has a play area for kids 4 and under. There is a model train that runs along the ceiling that my son loved to watch. Outside is fenced in so kids are safe. Entrance and exit through the gift shop. Gift shop has soda and ice cream snacks and lots of toys to purchase. Staff was attentive and polite. They walked around picking up and cleaning off the toys. Very clean and sanitary.

This place was everything for my grandson and my great niece. There is so much for a child to do and to learn from. I met one of the employees, but I don't remember her name. She is a college student at ULL in Lafayette. Please let her know that she is an awesome young lady; very friendly, well mannered, and beyond nice. They had a blast and we will be back.

Great Halloween Event. Masks not required but highly encouraged. Multiple sanitation stations through out property. And staff was constantly sanitizing. Plenty to do, you will have a hard time getting your children to leave.

Had a blast with the kidos here I think we loved it all and 10 bucks each isn't bad considering I wanted to go to the aquarium and it was like 35 each lol lots of fun facts and outdoor play as well as the museum inside with lots to do and explore. I wish we had more time to spend there. I would definitely recommend checking it out especially if you have small children (8 and under) my 13 year old did have fun and played well with his sister but it's not something he would have enjoyed alone but it was right across from the beach and it was a day pass so you could leave and come back if you wanted.

Friendly staff, very clean, and so much to do! It was very affordable, I think they only charged for the kids. The staff was disinfecting after each family left an area. There were other families there and we just moved along to different sections as others finished. I felt very safe. They did ask adults to wear masks inside, but when no other people were around I pulled mine down to take breaks and no one said anything. We live out of town but we will definitely be back when we come to visit family again!

A great experience for younger children. The center is clean and the employees are kind. We enjoy all of the different areas to let your children use their imagination. Our 2 and 5 year olds really enjoy it. Our 10 year old likes it but he is starting to grow out of it. A great place for a family fun day.

We enjoyed our visit and cleanliness is being covered. Station are located all around and employees were all wearing masks and some gloves. Not a lot of kids were there. The Art Department is the kids favorite things to do. They should do demonstrations with visuals and explain the Artist intent.

My daughter (2yrs) loves this place, and my wife and I have a blast taking her. They have so much for children of all ages to do that they will never get board. A lot of their installments encourage parents to get involved as well, making this a wonderful place to spend some meaningful time with and build a closer relationship with your younger children. Mine was only around one year old when we first brought her and she had a lot of fun then, but she has enjoys her time even more now that she's older and considers this one of her favorite places in the world. I strongly recommend the year pass 👌 The only reason I haven't given it a five star is because I have seen places like this (in larger cities) that are slightly better maintained. But this is a VERY small negative as it is still pretty well taken care of and always very clean and tidy. The lack of maintenance I'm referring to is small things like certain installments having buttons that don't do anything, or a water stream outside that's never on, so I don't know if it even works. Some of the small children's town outside could do with some repair. But these are, again, very small details that are more than overshadowed by the cleanliness of the facility, the plethora of features that do operate as intended, the friendliness of the staff, and the reasonable price for membership.

Took my 3 year old, 3 month old, and my wife and really enjoyed it. I was surprised at how clean and organized the place was as they had friendly staff cleaning things and putting things up constantly. Lots of very fun things for kids to do and the place is much bigger than it looks on the internet. Kids can learn about science, careers, health, history, and basic home knowledge as well as just normal play areas. There is an outside area as well sadly we couldn't explore it as we spent all our time inside. Would certainly recommend for kids!

My children LOVED this place. There was so much to do and see that we couldn't do it all in the two hour block that we had set aside for this visit. There are three big explore & play areas outside, and MANY interactive explore & play centers inside. My young daughter enjoyed the vet clinic on the first floor and the antique dress-up & formal tea party area on the second floor. My youngest son enjoyed the space center & vet clinic. My teenage sons spent most of their time in the science center & the outdoor play areas (hide & seek). If we are ever in the area again, we will be visiting here, too.

Family and I are from Mo and visiting the area for a week. Came here and really enjoyed the grounds. We have teens and a 7 year old, would say this is geared to 10 and under, teens got bored quick. Let me say they are handling the pandemic guidelines extremely well and had sanitizer everywhere and play food and other area toys are required to be checked out so they are sanitized and can be returned to be cleaned. Overall the entire area is beautiful and weekdays after 3pm is $3 entry.

This museum was awesome. Probably one of the best kids museums I have been to in a long time. My kids are 12, 10, 8, 6, 2 and they all had a good time. The outdoor treehouses were awesome with lots of space for them to run around. The inside climbing structure was neat and even my two year old could do it. There were your typical themed areas, a grocery store, vet clinic, train station etc... But they were stocked with things to play with. I have been to kids museums where there is no play food in the grocery store and nothing but x Ray films in the vet clinic. But each of the areas kept my kids playing for a long time. There was an art room where the kids could stop in and make the craft for the day, they enjoyed that too. Prices were very reasonable for admission and it was well worth it.

Experiments, dress up, a store with cashier and stock, space exploration & science, green screen TV studio, tree houses, and much more. My wife and I took our two-year-old here on a Saturday. We didn't know much about it or what all there was to do, but she had a great time. She especially loved seeing herself on TV in the green room. She had a good time grocery shopping and really liked the room upstairs where u can get hands on with vacuum tubes and making music with tubes and flip flops. Lynn Meadows is truly a gem of the Gulf Coast! Such an amazing place for people of all ages but especially magical if you are a child. We took our children to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center and it was adorable! The only problem is that we went when it was the last Friday of the month and it was so crowded that it was almost overwhelming! I wouldn't mind going back, however, I will definitely be sure to go when you have to pay to get in. The only other issue that I had was the climbing structure; I think it is a cute idea, but, I did not let my children get on it because, in my opinion, I do not feel safe with my kids being surrounded by a lot of wires. Add how crowded it was with a whole bunch of kids running up and down it and a lot of parents not paying attention.

My kids have been here literally dozens of times and always beg to go back often. Personally, I don't get it as it's always the same every time, but they love it. It's affordable, even if you have several kids, and the activities are close together in the 2 story building so they won't get tired walking to each station. Upstairs is an open area with pulleys, puzzles, a tornado machine and such. Downstairs is an interactive arts and crafts room with a teacher who will show the kids how to do a specific craft or painting - this has been different each time and my kids (8, 7, & 4) really enjoy it. They do have some large tree-houses out back with bridges and such, but in the summer, it's so stifling hot that they can't be enjoyed for very long. They also have a new (as of August 2018) souvenir/gift shop entrance that was a hit with the kids as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FAMILY ATMOSPHERE!

This place is awesome! We are locals and have a Family Membership and we come at least once a week. There are SO many hands on and educational exhibits! They have it set up so there are about 10 different "pretend areas." Kids can pretend to grocery shop in a huge store, check eachother out, play games, be a veterinarian and groom/wash stuffed animals, have a tea party, drive a train and space shuttle, be on a TV show, ride in a kayak, be a barber in a bar bar shop & a few more. There's also a huge learning floor with different hands on activities to teach you about science and a gated off area for kids 4 and younger. Outside, there are 3 large wooden tree houses with ramps that kids can play on. Our favorite part....? KIDS STREET! There are kids size houses and little cars thru can drive. It's adorable! Must go see!

Different discovery areas for all interests. There's veterinary, ship, grocery, safari, dress up and art sections. There is also an area with different science experiments. The kids learn about pulley systems, cause and effect, gravity, sound, tornados and can build with magnetic blocks. My kids always have a great time exploring and using their imaginations in each section. We can easily stay for several hours. Once they are done playing inside we buy ice cream from the front counter and they play on the several tree houses or the space area located behind the building or in the front there is a kid sized village with mini houses with different themes.

Wonderful activities for the kidos!! There is a Jeep in the African exhibit with stuffed animals indigenous to Africa and cut. There’s also areas for tea parties for the little girls. They also have a model train that the kids can play in. The crafts were so cute, they painted crab shells for Christmas ornaments.

My first time here staff very nice,clean, my grandchild enjoyed doing all activities.They are remodeling upstairs but still had plenty to do for kids.We enjoyed our self and plan to go back hopefully when we do the remodeling is done.

We love Lynn Meadows Discovery Center! The museum has something for kids from toddler to pre-teen. It's educational, hands on and fun! There are great outside treehouses and other places to play. We still go to LMDC even though the kids are older for their Theater Program, WiNGS. They have homeschool programs and much more! I highly recommend LMDC whether you're a local or a tourist.
