Reviews of The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum

Very nice architecture and ground. Interesting exhibits. Defiantly recommend you see the Sistine Chapel temp exhibit!! Gerald R. Ford seems like a real stand-up man. It was nice to find out more about him.

Very well laid out museum, following the life of our most unique (to date) president. I was very impressed by the displays, information and the Oval Office recreation. The staff was kind, helpful and very welcoming. I went there at the end of the day and was the only visitor - what a special visit as it was my first time to any presidential museum. Thank you everyone for making my visit there a GRAND one!

I've been to a few presidential museums and this was a smaller, but well-crafted one. Free parking, centrally-located in Grand Rapids, smaller space (all on one floor), with (mostly) historically accurate information. I really appreciated the attention to First Lady, Betty Ford. Highly Recommend.

I love museums! Why not learn something while on vacation? We left lovely South Haven, MI and took a day from the beach and went into Grand Rapids to see the Gerald Ford Museum. Interesting to compare current political events to Nixon/Ford times. Also Betty Ford is pretty amazing. The river walk is pretty and someone was actually fishing! Went to lunch at Bistro Bella Vita, fantastic!

Nice museum highlighting Ford’s Childhood College days and his work in Congress. There is a great replica of the Oval Office and Cabinet Room . You are allowed to go into the Cabinet room and take a seat around the table. President Ford and Betty are buried on the grounds outside the Museum.

This was informative and the temporary exhibit on the Sistine Chapel was a surprise bonus. There are some neat items like the offer Ford got from the Green Bay Packers. Don’t forgot to visit his grave site which is adjacent to the museum.

The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum will take you from Jerry's youth, through his time becoming an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, his Local, State and National Political careers ending in his being sworn into the office of President of the United States 8-9-74 when President Nixon resigned due to the Watergate scandal. He was a good man, who never wanted to be President, but helped heal our nation at a critical time in the public's trust in our elected government. There is a replica of the oval office, a segment of the Berlin Wall, many personal artifacts of both Jerry Ford the man and the President, as well as his wife, Betty's. Their burial site is available to pay respects during the daytime also. They sometimes have special exhibits on display as well as special speakers.

I'm in town on a business trip and made a point to free up an hour to visit the Museum, and in glad I did! They just reopened yesterday and the staff were so excited to have visitors return! The Cabinet Room, Oval Office, and Assassination Attempt Gun were the highlights! I even was able to pay my respects at the tombs of the President and First Lady on the grounds. I am so glad I visited - and an hour was just the right amount of time!

If you are in uniform, there is free admission (Scouts, Police, Fire, Military, American Heritage Girls, Cadets, Trail Life, etc). There is also free admission during the 9/11 Salute event each year.
We were disappointed that the Presidential Ford Museum was closed today for a winter storm and never thought to call ahead or suspect that it might be closed. We have come for the 9/11 Salute many times and will be back another time.

Cool museum depicting the life and legacy of president Ford. Very well organized and clean. Enjoyed my visit.
