Reviews of Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum
Larry Shulman
There is a plethora of information and an impressive display of aircraft at the museum. The volunteer staff have a great deal of knowledge are are very friendly. I have to say that since I have been to other museums (Pima in Tuscon & the Smithson in DC) I cannot say this is the best I have experienced. I know that this is a great collection for our location so I am rating it 5 stars. Very interesting & informative for all ages ..... I loved it!
Duane Sayers
Very well done. Self-guided tour let's you get up close and personal with all the aircraft. Starting with the B-52 outside to the B-1 Lancer inside, it is a walk through aviation history. I mean seriously, they have a B-1 inside the building. The planes are meticulously restored and very well displayed. Admission is very reasonable and and you are not rushed at all. There were a lot of people there when we went but it never felt crowded. If you are even mildly interested in aviation, this is a must-see.

What a great exhibit. I'm only giving 4 stars because the mezzanine wasn't open so I could look down on the F-14. My first love. There were several planes we hadn't seen before and a good variety oof fighters, bombers, experimental. And it wasn't really crowded during the week so it was easy to take pictures. The staff was very informative. Easy parking.
Experiance ForEver
I went to the museum or specifically for the candle light concert, that was happening inside hangar 2 of the airfield museum.
I find it very clean and lovely.
We were able to see part of the museum and airplane's.
It was very clean, warm and well maintained.
I definitely find it interesting and I would definitely visit the museum Only.
Great experience overall.
Ersin Sulukioglu
I'd never been here until yesterday, even though I grew up in Colorado. What a COOL museum! So many amazing planes representing so many moments in time. All preserved in a magnificent hanger. Definitely check it out!
Kathy
We loved this place! Air and space exhibits, the great videos narrated by Harrison Ford were awesome too. So many planes from first flight to space flight. Bombs...and a simulator where you can pick a plane and fly it. You can even try combat missions. They were hosting kids teaching them to fly drones...I have a feeling there is always something going on there. BIG shout out to the volunteers! They were full of passion and information.
Britney Fuqua
This is such a great museum. I took my husband for Fathers Day and we spent 3 hours here. There are so many things to see. They have a really great childrens area and an amazing gift shop. Definitely a must see. There are also plenty of fun things to do around here as well and many great restaurants.
Pierre
Great museum and very well put together, great staff and informative displays with static displays. Worth every penny of the ticket. Wish we could have stayed longer. Kids loved it. Some of the displays have QR codes to scan where you can have some videos/info on the planes .
Ben P
What a great place! Excellent staff, beautiful planes. Really fun flight simulators that we loved! Have some rare planes here. They really care about their exhibits. Nice gift shop. Definitely worth it, would come back again.
Isaac Nakata
This place has a pretty good collection of planes. The hard part is having been to the Air and Space Museum in Chantilly it's hard to compare. The one plane that I thought was so awesome to see not only up close, but was able to go under and look into the bomb bays of the B1! That along with the B-52 out front are what I thought were the best things to check out.
Christopher Christie
It was an incredible experience. I attended a private event. It was an excellent venue! All the staff was great. Everyone was engaging and knowledgeable. I saw display of items I had only seen in private collections before. I would make it a point to visit.
Jonathan Gutierrez
It's OK but I believe they need more staffing for interactive simulation/rides. We were their at opening (about 10 min after) and the first available time was 2:00pm. Most the staff/ volunteers were friendly and helpful even the not so friendly were very knowledgeable. It's a nice place to visit especially if this is your thing.
Rachel
Decent place to spend a few hours if you've got them free. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to see it, but the time spent inside was nice. There were a ton of volunteers inside, which was nice. They also have a little space area, which we really liked. I think your typical grandfather would live this place, but your kids might not have the same amount of fun or appreciation.
Abhijit S B
They have decent collection of planes but the center of the museum/ hanger was empty. There is kids play area in one corner and they will not get bored at all. They have different types of planes including couple from star wars movies. But there are better air museums so it's not a must visit in Denver.
Elizabeth Fehring
This was a great museum - very interactive! We learned a lot about aviation (both military and otherwise), old and new.
In addition to just seeing and reading about the aircraft, you could also test your mettle in a g-force spinner, explore cockpit mock-ups, trying to land a parachute in a bucket, and (for an added cost) try your hand at a flight simulator.
Brandy Dennis
On January 16th I joined a family here for a portrait session. Not knowing much about the museum, I was excited to go exploring.
The person I was photographing is intrigued with World War 2 so we wanted to incorporate some of the planes into the photoshoot.
I checked the website to see how much tickets would be, because there was another family who wanted to attend separately.
The website was easy to navigate, and I found a discount through the state for people who would love to expose their children to the history of our country.
The cost of admission for a person who receives food assistance is only $1 and the doors do not open until noon.
Walking around I was amazed. Intrigued really. Everything was on display so nicely. The facility was clean. There was information provided. I was able to learn a bit of history!
However, it wasn't until we were leaving that I really got a lesson.
I stopped in the gift shop to see if I could somehow incorporate a WW2 plane into a gift for the graduate.
The sales agent was very polite and knowledgeable. He spent his time walking me around the store to the displays and explaining the chosen planes and the importance of the roles that were played.
I left Wings Over the Rockies with a little more appreciation for the service and dedication of our countries men and women.
I say thank you again. Next time I will bring my children.
Amy SAUERBREIT
Wings Over the Rockies and the Blue Sky facility are 2 of the best aerospace educational experiences in the Colorado area. The museums are a “must visit” for school age students but keep checking back as you actually must visit 3-4 times a year as they have several great event opportunities-especially for girls! Excellent learning opportunities for adults too! All around one of the best Colorado attractions.
Joy Getha
Anyone with any interest in aerospace should visit this place. The short welcome video by Harrison Ford was delightful. The curated collections of everything from the Wright Flyer to an X-wing fighter from Star Wars have something for everyone. There are simulators for the kids to try to crash, Vietnam-era aircraft, nuclear weapons, fighters, bombers, and some nice displays about civilian aircraft. A very nice surprise for me was the 1/3 scale model of the satellites I used to support, which are still "flown" from Colorado. No food or drinks allowed inside, but the Lowry Beer Garden is next door and it deserves its own review.
Chris Hoekstra
Larger than it looks like from the outside. Once inside your inside an old Aircraft hanger. Probably big enough to fit a blimp there's a lot of information on how aircraft and spacecraft have been impacted by Colorado. There's replicas of spacecraft and some older simulators for commercial aircraft. There's a lot of gliders and a concept of the new Boom supersonic jet. There's an awesome replica of Star Wars X-Wing that George Lucas had built for the Rerelease of the 1st 3 films in the 90's. It is signed by the cast. Elsewhere there's also a Sand Racer. There's quite a few normal civilian planes but there are at least 20 Military Jets. The biggest being the B1 Bomber, it's huge. My favorite an F-14. Basically every Vietnam era jet and some Korean War. It was a great way to spend 2 hours.
Overall a 5 star review. Would I return? Yes, a fun place to roam and relax.
Harvey Flowers
This Museum has an eclectic collection of airplanes and space crafts. There is so much history to explore here and tons of extremely knowledgeable volunteers who’re all beyond passionate about the items in the exhibitions here at Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum.
Kellson Marcus
Simply amazing. I don't think I had ever seen so many aircraft under one roof before.
This museum was built as part of the redevelopment of what once was Lowry AFB, the first home of the United States Air Force Academy. As you walk thorugh the exhibits you notice that it showcases its history with pride. Among their exhibits you'll find lots of military aircraft, a space capsule and even a piece of the moon.
A great place to visit, great place to bring you kids. If you plan ahead you might even catch one of the open cockpits.
Katrina Cordell
Very interesting museum! A little disappointed that they didn’t have any planes that you could walk into to see. Spent an hour and a half walking around and learning about air and space! Neat addition of two Star Wars replicas! Great gift shop for a bonus!
Keith Wheeler (Psike)
Admission was a little higher than I'm used to seeing for air and space museums. Was a good experience though for what there was to do and see. 3d flight simulator was a nice way to round out the day for an added cost. While most air and space museums that have simulators, this cost was far more reasonable and made up for the higher than normal admission.
arlene88 alonzo
A lot of information on the US Air Force Academy history. The museum showcases various bomber airplanes and missiles including nuclear ones. So much information in one place, so it is best to have a lot of time when you visit the museum. The museum staff is very friendly.
Jade Lovelien
Came here with a new friend! It had a lot of different kinds of planes, helicopters and bombs! Loved the ride that they had that spins you 360°, we did the level 6 rollercoaster, then level 10. It was way bigger than I thought, which made it confusing a bit to navigate. My friend and I were a little bummed that we couldn't go inside any of the planes.,
Ashish Borate
This is piece of history, would like to recommend this place for history enthusiasts.. artefacts and models are lined up very interestingly with lot of fun facts.. there are so many audio visual material with each display.. also, there are interactive consoles and simulator experience available.. for kids there is a dedicated section to play, they also conduct workshops..
Luis “Mr.Kopriti” Glinos
Very descent air museum, has some very cool aircraft in display. The city pass makes it very cheap to visit many local museums in the Denver area. The simulator is fun and very cheap. The display aircraft are awesome and would be nice to see their cockpits, not all are available.
Takes a couple of hours to check it out.
Robert Bremers
Much larger and more interesting than everyone in our group 6yr, 8yr, 2 x 40 yr, and 70 years old imagined. Lunch before at Lowery Beer Garden next door was a great start. 2 hours was ideal for kids w/ride in flight simulator. Adults would have stayed longer.
Michael Noerr
Not as large as some air and space museums, but a good little selection. Great staff and a very clean facility, with reasonable prices for tickets. The only downside is the aircraft are so packed together, it's hard to see all the way around each one.
There's no food, but there is a beer garden and ice cream next door.
vorhees J
This place was pretty cool. Lots of planes and even able to sit inside the Heuy. There was placards scattered throughout with some fun facts. The place even had a model X wing fighter and Anakins pod racer from Star Wars. Worth a stop in if you're on that side of town.
J Rhodes
WAY COOL! Has two levels. We didn't go upstairs because we had a stroller and while search for the elevator we ended up finding a kods play room. It's large and had tons of things for kids to do, draw, dress up, play astronauts, pilots, read, etc etc for all ages. The planes were AMAZING to look at and walk around
Linda Hoernke
Located in Hanger 1 of the former Lowry Air Force Base, this museum was created by a group of volunteers. The base trained over a million people in different segments of aerospace skills from 1938-1994. The museum has over 80 air and spacecraft along with thousands of exhibits, artifacts and aero memorabilia.
Logan Caron
It is a must see! This place is just incredible. Just remember to keep your head and eyes up. I'd recommend spending at least 2 hours here. Bring a camera with lots of storage
Maarwan
This place was amazing! All of the history that is contained here is great! The rides and simulators are just amazing as well, staff are very friendly! Really recommend
Ant Bra
Had a very enjoyable experience here. A lot of historical aircraft on display, the X-wing was a surprise!! The museum attendants were great. Sharing their experiences. I will be revisiting this place.
Tony Fagler
Attended a jazz event at wings. Awesome venue. When you get there make sure you take the time to read and learn about all the static displays. They have several great aircraft and in the back they several generations of uniforms to look at.
Yahaira Miranda
What a great place! Excellent staff, beautiful planes. Really fun flight simulators and nice gift shop.
Bryce A Elemond CAI,BAS
I have done several Fundraising events at this location and am extremely pleased with the staff that works the events. They are kind and courteous. This venue can accommodate several hundred people and give them a fun time in exploring the location and looking at all of the planes in the hanger.
Endiya McDaniel
My son and I came for National Aviation Day! It was a fantastic experience. Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable about the exhibits. We will be back soon
Nathan Heller
A giant hanger full of all sorts of aircraft with some rotating exhibits. Cockpit tours of some aircraft are available upon request. Some exhibits were initially closed at time of entry, but opened later. Be sure to buy your tickets directly from the museum and not through any online travel guides to save money. I felt the "space" portion of the museum was lacking in content; the national museum in Washington DC had much more spacecraft content, but if you want to get up close to retired full size military aircraft, this is definitely the place to go.
James Hutchens
What an interesting place. History of Air and Space. A volunteer, Steve, greeted us and walked us in and explained the layout. He was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we asked.
Holly Adamson
Amazing! Super interactive the volunteers rock the staff was cool! 10/10 would recommend especially if your into aircraft !
Andrew Hicks
The Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum was so cool. If you are interested in aviation, especially military aviation this is the place for you. So much history and planes, very cool room on avionics.
Milk Man Brewer
Awesome place. Lived here all my life, and this was the first time I visited.. It blew me away. It had two of my favorite planes. They have the F-4 Phantom and an F-14 Tomcat. They have a good selection of general aviation aircraft as well. And things for the kiddos
Lilo Santos
What a cool place! If you're into aviation and history this is the place! It has a wide array of different planes from different eras. Everything from the Wright Brothers plane to the latest in spacecraft. Highly recommend bringing the kids for this one!
Amber Blanco
It was a nice place to visit and see all of the things here. My 22 year old son absolutely enjoyed it.
buffalosoldiermm
Outstanding museum with many planes and jets. The exhibits were varied and the grandkids enjoyed exploring Mars.
Colin Shawhan
What an honor to visit this beautiful museum on Memorial Day weekend! So many awesome planes and space memorabilia, including a Hubble Space Telescope replica and (admitted nerd here) a Star Wars X-Wing.
There are two simulators; one flips full 360's and another is a sci-fi adventure only turning partway, which is perfect for kids or more sensitive adventurers.
Even if Aviation and Space are not your jam, this place is cool!! Definitely go if you are in Denver, but be aware there is a second location which is absolutely incredible, however you should make sure and book the right one.
Either location is great and staff are super helpful.
Anton Ekman
Made a quick stop and enjoyed the various aircraft and spacecraft that the museum has to offer. There were even a few movie props from space and air related movies that were a welcome treat.
Jack Wei
Cool displays. The B1 dwarfs everything else here. Was a fun time. Still amazes me what was achieved with slide rules and French curves.
Lloyd Lindberry III
Recommended but with one serious caveat -- virtually every plane lacks its engine(s), technically making Wings Over the Rockies much more of an airFRAME rather than airPLANE museum. Not sure how to feel about this. I suppose it would be like going to a classic car museum, find the hoods are open only to see empty engine bays. Still, the airframes are in nice shape, and are lovingly maintained. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. A casual fan could see everything in a hour or so, a serious enthusiast in two.
Dan DeVillers
Airplane lovers haven. Lots of really cool aviation history on display, and many unique items related to Colorado aviation history as well. Some fun star wars props too...
Sheraz Ahmed (Your Sir Jee)
Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space, this was my dream to see all these kinds of plans together and these were more than my expectations. Now I am thinking to see live shows of plans.
This was our first visit in Denver and we enjoyed, the tickets were reasonable and all displays were well maintained, really this was a different kind of experience. During childhood seen many plans in old movies and this was a live experience, even these were just displays but was good to see.
Tanya Krishnan
This place sounded a little boring but it turned out to be super fun! There were so many fun games to play and the simulator was Amazing! Would definitely recommended!
Liz Nelson
This is a really interesting museum! There is a lot of history to read and see, and the volunteers can tell you more information about certain pieces.
Nicholas Zeller
Not only are the planes really great to see up close, but the volunteers are very knowledgeable! I also really like the F – 18 from top gun and the XWing from Star Wars! F-18 pictured below…
Tricia Jensen
We went for a Candlelight Tribute for Queen show. What a great venue. We were able to enjoy the museum for an hour then sat for the concert.
Nadelle Payne
Really nice museum. My son and I enjoyed 2 hours there. There is a lot to learn. The bathrooms are gross- but the museum itself is amazing.
Kimberly Juge
For those that love aircraft and space this place is a must see! The staff was friendly and super helpful in answering our questions. A great place to learn about aviation and really "see" everything and anything related to aviation. Beautiful new sculpture honoring those fallen airmen of WWII was on display - so powerful!
Rufo Lomahan Jr (Jun)
Great excursion site. Lots of great retired planes to learn from what they can do and brief history and highlights. Kids and the aviation minded will love it.
Ryan Schaff
This is a pretty cool museum if you enjoy aircrafts. They have a flight simulation you can do also. My only complaint would be different airplanes in the simulation for dog fights and maybe more time for the money you pay. Alot of cool aircrafts and some awesome ones that were used in movies.
Zach Martin
A fair experience for those that are mechanical nerds. Not a premium experience but if you have a short while maybe an hour or two at the most is needed. Its focused subject so attendees must be prepared for that
Jarred Logie
Great place to come they have great exhibits staff is nice very great experience I come once a year
Michael Brown
Visited at the last-minute to kill time before a flight home. Turned out to be a great find! Well-curated collection (and great ice cream)
Edmond Chong
I had a wonderful time exploring and experiencing the different types of planes that are in the hanger!
Cailan Shannon
Went to see a fever candlelight performance, and was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful this building and all of the airplanes were. I definitely intend to go back and just to look at the airplanes. I'm glad I got to learn about this building's existence!
Charles Thomas
Such a great experience and I learned a lot! I had no idea that the US Air Force Academy started at Lowery Air Force Base, which is where the museum is! Colorado has an amazing aviation and space legacy. The planes they have there cover every major development in air and space history: from WWI, to Korea, to the Apollo missions.
Myrha Miranda
Not only do you get to see the biggest aircrafts made from war time, but you can fly them in a simulation game. The space craft area sometimes have stations with interactive crafts. Tons of fun.
Gina Schulz
Great museum. Exhibits are accessible. Today was Cockpit day when you could get a peek inside many of the planes
James Winterswolf
An awesome place to go with the family. There are several awesome educational exhibits and some awe-inspiring planes and rocket parts at 1:1 scale. It was awesome to see all of it up close. That being said, I wish it had more. It's a large building with so much open space they presumably rent out for events. If they put more stuff in there it would be more worth the money but it's still a fun day out.
Thomas Zeigler
Very interesting. I expected fewer exhibitions, so I was pleasantly surprised. My 11 year old son really enjoyed it.
joshua allen
Great museum with both planes and space exhibits. They also have various flight simulators that are fun.
Em Garcia
Had a great time. Not much to do hands on however very educational if you take the time to read the exhibit signage. Lovely staff, clean and maintained. Had a similar of a handful of the aircrafts you can choose to do. (pay separate 17$ for 2 passenger) neat gift shop a little pricey but fun
Linda J Vecchiarelli
Such a great travel down the road of aviation history. Enthusiasm of the volunteers as well as the welcoming atmosphere and fun bits of information, Made this a wonderful experience. I’d love to go on a rainy day and read every little detail. Loved the airport at the exhibit on the upper level, and being able to get so close to the airplanes.
Ale Mier
cool spot to take kids especially those who like knowing the way things work or planes in general. they have some interactive games as well for them to play
Michelle Cooper
I wanted to take my children to Wings over the Rockies this year while visiting Co. I purchased tickets online and made reservations. We were easily able to find their location and got in quickly with no wait time. We were greeted by a volunteer who explained a few things to us and we set off looking around. They have several planes and an area strictly for children that my kids loved! They were able to play with gadgets and even dress up as pilots and astronauts!!!
Ryan Beckstead
I liked the planes. The museum guide really knew what he was talking about (he had served on an aircraft carrier and had worked on 3 of the planes) and loved to share what he knew. If you want to ride the flight simulators, I would recommend buying the tickets before you look at the planes. There can be a 1 hour wait for the rides. I wish the counter person had mentioned this when we paid to enter.
nessalkdarb
The museum had a good variety of aircraft on display as well as the type of munitions that they might have carried for military craft. Information panels largely described stats about the aircraft such as top speed, year of production and a few other facts. Some panels had more personality describing stories or events the display was used in and these were more interesting. More places to sit down and read or watch would have been appreciated.
Ken Hanes
If you like air museums, don’t miss this one! Great displays, simulators, and tons of information to read and view.
Fix Aikyo
I was working the event with my wife and I’s company. We all rocked the socks off of that sheezenut!
Joe Plunkett
Had a good time. Educational. Did the virtual reality flight simulator for $7.50 a person. The combat game is exciting.
Charlotte Dungan
My kids were not too thrilled to be dragged to this museum, but they ended up having a wonderful time alongside parents and grandparents. The simulator was a big hit as well as the Wright glider. The volunteers are super friendly and helpful!
Christina Walker
Very spacious with lots of interesting exhibits! I've never seen star wars pieces in an air museum before.
Corey
Totally awesome seeing all the different planes, simulators, and reading the history about Colorado’s Air Force!
Chris Armstrong
Great selection and very interactive. What sets this exhibit apart from others are the interactions from the employees/volunteers. They are very friendly and will approach you if you seem interested in a piece. Loved hearing about their stories and more history behind the birds.
M C
Kiddo was disappointed that there wasn't an actual cockpit that he could sit in but we were able to do the flight simulator. Some of the interactive displays were not working but there was still plenty to do, including driving a rover on Mercury (pic).
AV8R
A great place where they also have events hosted by Fever. My better half took me to listen to live classical music. Be sure to sign up for email alerts for upcoming events. This weekend on Nov 12 2022 is the free day at the museum 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Emily Stone
My husband could have spent the entire day here! A very nice museum full of a lot of history.
Shawn
Very cool experience and a must see.
From planes to NASA and other historical items to see with plenty to keep the kids happy and interested.
Wife and I went on a free entrance day and there was no wait. Plenty busy, but not so busy you couldn't see everything.
Love One4life
Good place to see the size and configurations of air crafts. Also the volunteers are kind. They can give you insights of the background for some of the air crafts. It is a good place to remember and honor the US veterans that has served and fought for the USA!
M G
I like the displays .Very clean. Gift store has limited gifts selection.
Nightshade452
Such a beautiful collection. My daughter and I attended a concert there and got to explore before it began. We both loved it! Even with neither of us generally being interested in planes.
Jason Penland
Great museum to visit lots of cool planes to look at, also has a nice space section to explore. Knowledgeable and friendly stage. I recommend checking it out, and they have a nice gift shop lots of cool stuff at affordable prices.
Shannon Young
I visited on a Monday, it was so much more than I was expecting. My kids and I all loved it, and will be back to see the things we didn't have time for yesterday. All the staff is incredibly nice which also made the experience there that much better.
Nick Miller
Love this museum! Great for anyone who loves aviation, and the membership is well worth it for anyone visiting. It’s great to see all the historic aircraft here and they frequently put on fun events.
Rachelle Wille
Beautiful candlelight concert here! Awesome venue and great atmosphere.
Malakai Black
Brilliant museum that I've loved visiting all through my childhood and teen years! Full of extremely knowledgeable people and hours of entertainment. They also offer a huge variety of educational programs
Melanie Rosales
Aviation at its finest. A plethora collection of some of the famous aircraft ever created both for commercial and military.
RedElectric3
Cool museum! Los of fun planes to check out from the past and also full size replicas of both Anakin Skywalker's pod racer as well as a X-Wing!! Perfect family / Grandpa day. They have a small movie theater that plays videos on a loop in case you need to sit down and take a break. They also have cool simulators and a gift shop.
Det. Flores
What an amazing museum!!! There was so much history, space, aviation. It got my 6 year old really excited about electronics, engineering, and flight.
We got up close and personal with rocket engines, spacecraft, aircraft, and even a few Star Wars things.
We had an awesome time at Wings Over the Rockies despite COVID 19 protocols. What's best is we could follow up with the museum on YouTube and get some great access and information that we couldn't see or do when we were there.
This museum is one of the biggest reasons I want to visit the City of Denver again. What a fun and cool place. Be sure to check out the restaurant next door!!
Marisa Foley
Went to this venue for the first time to see Candlelight. Range Ensemble was playing spooky music on Friday the 13th, in candlelight, in the middle of the museum. Great atmosphere, great quartet and great event. Some beautiful planes and aircrafts here!!
F-106 Delta dart
Pretty good but my only BIG issue is that they have a collection of aircraft from the “Century” series, except for the F-106,me.other than that, they have a a lot of aircraft including the F-14,B-1,B-52,and F-4,and there is a fun flight simulator
Cole B.
Oh how this place has grown! There are so many new interactive things to do and the planes are pretty amazing. Not to mention how we get to experience a little piece of Colorado history preserved.
Abigail Kirk
Excellent museum with spectacular displays of aircraft! The size of the planes in real life is overwhelming, especially the B1 Lancer. The staff were polite and informative!
Erica Green
Dope museum! Great for weddings or events. I went to a fashion show here
Susan Boone
what a great place to go! an AWESOME museum! one of the best of its kind. the tour guide was good. A great place for kids and adults! very informative and a great experience!
Michael Ali
This Air Museum is located just outside Denver Colorado. It’s packed with lots of different aircraft and the volunteers are very helpful in providing information on each aircraft. The place was open with “ social distancing guidelines in place” they limit the amount of visitors per day and close to clean. 👍 the only downside is I wanted to purchase a few t-shirts to take home and they don’t have a actual “Museum “ T-Shirt” 🤷🏻♂️ I Hope this will corrected soon.
Tamara Gordon
Glad to see these planes and history preserved and cherished.
Star Wars planes here too!!
Exhibit on Amelia Earhart who completed the journey.
Basic Helicopter and Life rescue one too.
Plane inspired by teacher and built by students.
I'm not into planes and thoroughly enjoyed this.
Strategic Air Command plane here. Most at Strategic Air Command Museum in Omaha!
Tina Stokes
Disappointed. We had couple hours to kill before out flight home from Denver, picked this place because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, it was very messy lots of work being done, usually isn't a problem but it was a Saturday, some bits were closed or not working. The only good things were the Star Wars X wing starfighter and pod racer
Jenn G
Love seeing all the planes through history and being able to get in them and actually feel what a pilot feels. I love all the extra programs they host and will definitely make many return visits
Tamara de Souza
Incredible military aircraft collection with videos as well as multilingual text descriptions of the science and history behind each machine. Particularly unique, in my experience, was the collection of thermonuclear and atomic bomb casings. It is so key to remember where we have come from as human beings to avoid those mistakes in the future.
Margaret Bryant
We had a great time, out of town family wanted to go. And I am glad we did so much to see and learn about in one hanger. Great for the entire family
Batalia “Batalia122” Hewlett
Excellent place to take the family. They have exhibits that other museums don't have and they are all indoors. We got to see a pod racer, x wing fighter, Lancer Bomber and many more unique planes. They even have a children's play are with a real plane that the kids can sit in and jump all over. Take your time because there is alot to see.
Sara - Raul Rotaru
Was there with my grandchildren, very good collection of air crafts and like specially the space travel collection where children could have a lot of information about it and also enjoy the different chalenges about space travel.
Edward Sarker
Went for a beautiful candlelight piano performance of chopin's best works. Enjoyed the setting and the beauty was enamoring. I'd gladly enjoy it again.
CHRIS PAYNE
This place is awesome. tons of planes on display and a lot of interactive stuff to do. we had a Denver City pass and used itt without any problems. The gift shop while it didn't have large selection was super cheap compared to others we have been to the last few days.
John T
Great place for anyone interested in aerospace. When we went, they also had a couple of McLarens there which were fun to check out. Very interesting displays ranging from current to vintage, even fantasy, like the X-Wing fighter. We went mid-day and mid-week and there was plenty of parking and no crowds. The coffee shop out front is cute, too.
marisol xperia
Nice collection, all the aeroplanes and helicopters have a lot of historic features.
Enjoy with enough time because is an excellent place to take an amazing photos.
Tiffany Johnson
This is a great place for a little boy that loves planes. :) We had some errands to run in Denver the day we went so we worked this in as a treat for our son during Thanksgiving Break. He really enjoyed seeing all the planes. He especially loved the simulator. :)
Jami Trobaugh
Had a work even hosted here. Museum was closed to just our party. The staff were all helpful and polite. Food was delicious. Very cool Star Wars displays. I especially liked the legos. They let us sit in some of the aircraft and take pictures which my daughter absolutely loved since her father is a pilot. They don't rush you when you are sitting in the aircraft either which was nice.
Phillip Abernathy
It doesn't get any better than this! Even though the simulators are unavailable due to Covid, this museum still had plenty of amazing technology and history for everyone. They even have a full size star wars spaceship model with an R2D2 droid that moves and responds to you! So cool. Recent additions include a captured MIG from Iraq- a piece of history.
Chengxiang Yuan
A large air and space museum exhibiting a wide range of aircraft and some spacecraft, housed in the decommissioned Lowry Air Force Base. Visits are in 2 hour batches where the museum admits up to 175 visitors.
Other than the B-52 at the entrance, there are also notable vehicles such as the F-14 from Top Gun, a Sonic Arrow jet powered car, a Soviet MiG-23, and a B1-A Lancer. There are also models of fictional aircraft such as the X-wing fighter and podracer from Star Wars and the Flying Machine from the movie Around the world in 80 days. Unfortunately the flight simulators are currently out of service due to COVID.

Date of Visit: 09/21/2022 - There were a few things ripped off the displays, we couldn’t tell if this is intentional or if someone did this to ruin the displays. Overall, it was really neat to see the airplanes!
Ashley Adams
Loved it! My son and boyfriend had the best time, and I actually did too! Learned so much. Saw some of the coolest planes ever! Beautiful side exhibits, friendly staff.
Everything we bought at the gift shop pretty much broke immediately but that's life! Awesome family day activity.
Jeremy Profitt
Had a private event here and was amazing. Got to taste really rare whisky in a quite setting with really cool stuff to look at. You probably miss so much walking through, sit at a table and look at fixed craft and you see so much more than an airplane, given an hour next to one, the rivits are even impressive.
Jason Wooley
Great collection of swing wing aircraft. The B-1 bomber is a domineering presence, but you also get a rare opportunity to see the F-111 side-by-side with the F-14! One of the few Mig Floggers in U.S. possession is here as well.
Rene G
Rated on the top 20's museums in the world.. Interesting museum with many aircraft related items. Including airplanes from WW1, WW2, Vietnam War and other space related items. Great source of information for all the family to enjoy.
Amy Moravick
My husband and I enjoyed a few hours here before our flight left. It was super cool to see all the airplanes from so many different years and revisit the history. Pretty impressive to see up close! I would recommend! The only complaint is the restrooms in the front were disgusting- these need to be overhauled and cleaned often. Use the other restrooms in the large part of the building.
Jeff King
Went with my dad, the B-52 that sits outside is the actual plane he used to work on at Castle AFB, the rest of the museum is pretty cool, seeing a bunch of planes I wouldn't get to see otherwise. The X-Wing fighter is really cool to look at. Overall a cool place to check out if you like aviation. Parents beware, your kids will want to see and touch EVERYTHING!!! The gift shop has some pretty cool things to look at as well. The Harrison Ford theater wasn't open which was the only downfall, guess I'll have to go back!
Chris Newman
Beautiful, I got to see the Dream Chaser!
Ken Rovasio
This was a nice stop before heading to the airport. The kids enjoyed it as well as the adults. Lots of things to keep the kids engaged, flight simulator for $5 and a fun interactive flight thing for the little kids.
Daniel Stillmaker
This place was way cooler them I thought. as soon as we showed up and we saw the gigantic airplane out front I knew it was going to be a good time. I've never really been an airplane guy but this place was really cool.
Wayne Morris
Great static aircraft display location. The B-52 outside has a whole history of it's own.
Corey Pemberton
Really fun place. Went to a music event and it was nice to walk around before it started and look at the exhibits!
C H
Great museum for anyone interested in flight! Super passionate staff, very knowledgeable. Amazing gift shop!!
Jennifer Kellogg
We went on a field trip with school. We were given a tour by a great volunteer named Don. He was so knowledgeable and patient with our group. Seeing all the different planes and learning about the different parts was incredibly interesting. Highly recommend for everyone to go.
Rick Konopka
Great views of all exhibits in a clean, well maintained hangar. Military, civilian, experimental and unique aerospace exhibits.
Robbie Rounds Jr
Easy to navigate, very helpful staff, and a really cool exhibit where you can build your own plane from different modules and then test fly it to see what kind of performance it has. The virtual reality exhibit was very cool too.
Joshua Jesse
Took my family here and they absolutely loved it. This place is definitely geared for kids and is kid friendly. There were so many cool planes and we loved the star wars X-wing my wife nerded out instantly! The staff were great and friendly. They even have an area for young ones in the corner with alot of toys. Overall this museum is a favorite and will be coming back with the in laws.
Douglas Stout
Very nice small air and space museum at the old Lowrey AFB. Pretty nice range of static displays of planes (including military aircraft like B-52B, B-1A, FB-111, F-4, F-86, F-100, and many others), helicopters, avionics and munitions. Nice aviation themed play area for little kids as well.
J R
Had the pleasure of attending a DFD retirement party here. So many amazing aircrafts to drool over! Gonna have to go back when I can use the simulators!
Todd Ludwick LuAnne Cook
This was an impressive museum. It took us 3 hours to explore everything. The short movies were interesting and enjoyable as well.
Colorado Rose Cake CO
We took our 11 year old, pilot/plane enthusiast and he said it was the best day ever! I'm not sure if it was seeing some of his favorite planes or because he was able to take his mom for a "barrel roll" in the flight simulator? Either way he really enjoyed it. His only complaint was we weren't able to sit in the cockpits of the planes with stairs in front of them. Although that would have just been icing on the cake! The flight simulators cost per person, and the height requirements on who can go alone and who can't, are inconsistent. Wish we had more options of plane models to buy at the end, but otherwise it was such a great outing for us. We enjoyed it very much. Next door outside the second hand there was a great eatery. There was also a children's area for smaller children.
Stormey Tucker
We took our two boys here and I'm not sure who enjoyed it more! They have so many wonderful planes in this beautiful exhibit that you can get right up to and see and learn about. They have done and exceptional job at displaying everything and having helpful staff there if you have any questions. I highly recommend this place to visit. Plus if the weather is bad, it's all indoors and there's a play room and learning center for the kids. I collected a few more patches from the gift shop also. They give discounts also to first responders and veterans
Sally H
Very cool and not too crowded. Lots of amazing historical aircraft, plus a Star Wars X-wing and pod racer. The flight simulator is really awesome. I only wish they'd have more clear signage on the displays because it was sometimes hard to identify the airplanes.
M H
Before visiting the museum I didn't think it would be this great. The museum is very cool, with a lot of interesting things and beautiful activities. The staff is great and helpful. I wandered here about three hours. I think this museum is fun for many people. Also, its location is great 👍.
Shannon O'Dowd
Very cool museum if you're into Aerospace.
There are several unique experiences that they open from time to time. When we were there you could sit in two of the plane's cockpits...
There is also a simulator where you can fly a digital replica of the Wright Brothers airplane.
And our favorite part was the Star Wars X-wing complete with signatures of cast members
Rebecca Ruiz
Beautiful and stunning. Looking forward to coming again.
Jerry Marx
We enjoyed looking at the different types of aircraft. Well worth your time. Brought back memories of my days on my ship, the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63.
Gilles C.
Great aviation museum with a lot of really great airplanes, including some very unique ones
A D
Many displays and airplanes used in decades past, enough to spend at least an hour looking at. I enjoyed the Star Wars planes, didn't expect to see them there! Very accessible once inside, they have wheelchairs you can borrow if you are pushing someone.
Lizzy Nightingale
Definitely worth the trip was really awesome and they have flight simulators
Tz Y
They have a great display of planes from Colorado. The simulators was a great addition to the display. It gives the customers a true experience of flying while in training.
Thomas Foley
Slightly underwhelming if you've been to the A&S museums in DC, but fantastic nonetheless. Greater focus on AF aircraft, though there are some examples of Naval Fighters as well. They also have one of 3 remaining 3/4 scale X-wing models created for the Special Editions in the 90s. Beautiful Memorial to the Airmen lost during WWII, created by a WWII veteran for his buddies. Also a bunch of space memorabilia.
Michael Priddy
If you are interested in vintage aircraft, this is an awesome place to visit. Loads of information about the various aircraft that are positioned around the museum.
Bob T.
Great air museum, the aircrafts are well maintained. The folks working there are also very nice.
Eliana Van Etten
Kids and parents had lots of fun on the star Wars special day. The standard exposition also looks interesting. The airplane outside is already a must-see.
Steven Nason
It's a Great Museum! IT WOULD BE COOL TO HAVE A AUDIO TOUR THAT EXPLAIN ABOUT EACH PLANE OR ITEM IN HANGER! But Pretty Good Visit
Mary Cecere
We're visiting from out of state and took our grandkids. A lot of cool history and the boys loved what they saw. If you want to do the simulators sign up as soon as you arrive, appointments fill quickly. Manager and young man "in charge" of simulator" are wonderful. Great museum.
Ann J
Aviation, spaceships and rocket history. Adult tickets $16.95. Can view real size models and even try MaxFlight simulation for additional $7.50 with 2 roller coaster rides out 10 that have different intensity or $5 for small children.
Talitha Eicher
I love how they set up the museum. The museum is very clean and nicely set up. I love that it was an Air Force training center and they used the builds for the museum and a Beer Garden.
Scott Napier
Excellent air museum located at the former Lowry AFB. There were only 4 B1A bombers built and they have one! Great selection of aircraft and artifacts of aviation.
Mia Voss
What an amazing space! We attended a fashion show but also had an opportunity to see the DaVinci exhibit which is very well done! The space definitely has an older feel to it but it's overall a wonderful venue.
Sean McElroy
Really interesting aviation museum. Quite a few USAF planes on display. But the best is a 3/4 scale of an X Wing fighter from the move Star Wars. Definitely worth the visit here.
Scott B
Chose to visit on a not so nice weather day… what a find! So many unique things to see including a history of the former Air Force base.
Area also has some really nice restaurants and a beer garden all within walking distance from each other.
Julian Kaiser
It's an excellent Air and Space museum with plenty of historical aircraft and friendly staff. There's plenty to do to keep you entertained for at least a couple of hours.
Chris Peterson
Lots of cool planes to look at. Staff working on restorations was pretty neat to see. Would have liked to have at least one that you could actually get inside of.
Jim Cox
We had a great docent with lots of interesting information about the museum and the planes.
BrainierBus2207
This place was great! So many planes and so much knowledge from the volunteers that work there.
Price was very reasonable for admission AND, it is an ALL day pass! So, double bonus on that!
The gift shop was nice, had plenty of neat things, but some were overpriced. A mini arcade game was $168??? A water bottle for $48?? But other stuff was decent priced.
The flight simulator was super fun. Kids loved it. Would have liked to see if a little more available, but I get having to have people run it.
Food on site was also good (beer garden and ice cream place across the parking lot) so, food nearby.
You can probably spend a good half day or longer here!
Joe Delaney
What an experience this was! Being an aviation freak I had the pleasure of attending a function here and was surprised to see all the exclusive airframes they have. Educational and very well taken care of.p
Vincent Paquit
A lot a great planes. The staff is doing a fantastic job restoring them and they are also very knowledgeable about their history, where they've been, etc. Easily a good half day visit to see everything. Not too far from Denver's airport, you can go there to fill your day before hoping on your plane back home.
Joy Again
I had Citipass to.get in and this also gave me a discount for the gift shop. THERE WAS SO MUCH HERE. Also they had airplane simulators. There was an extra fee ($7.50/person at time) and you had to schedule but the kid LOVED IT. The star wars addition really caught the teens eyes. Was great.
Melissa True
As a veteran Air Force B52 Crew Chief, this is an amazing place you can touch and learn about a variety of aircraft. Great for kids with interactive simulators and games. Amazing place!
Melissa Gutierrez
This museum is for people that like airplanes or wants to know more about it , is amazing 🤩 …
Alberta Shepard
Bring your children here! They would learn alot and have fun. The only drawback is there is no air conditioning possible because it's a hangar and no way to cool it. But worth coming. 👍👍😊 …
Molly Hebrew
My kids and I were super excited to visit this museum. I will say for the price point I didn’t think it was worth it. My kids all wanted to sit in cockpits or at least get a chance to look into one. I was told the day we went there were not any volunteers to make that happen. The cockpit alley wasn’t even open for the kids to try. Just felt a bit disappointing for them especially after paying $55 to get in. The kids space they have was cool, but only up until about age 7 I’d say.
nikita shet
Good learning for kids about aeroplanes.
They have kid zone area to play with interactive toys. Would definitely recommend to visit this museum.
Yourlocalmechanic6810
Very good. All aspects were phenomenal. Service was great. Setting was superb. A nice clean environment to view all kinds of aerospace items. The one problem is its size. It is not a very big place, the whole area has stuff on the sides, but the middle of the place is entirely empty.
Aliaksandr Kaladzinski
It's definitely worth visiting. The number of exhibits has been extended significantly since our last visit in 2018. My kid loves this place.
Sonia Gupta
Nice museum to go to, especially if you have kids. We went there a my grind is very fond of planes.. but he became like a kid there and we ended up spending so much time
s or
Hard to overstate how awesome this place is. If you're into aviation, space or history - my son and I went and had a great time. A must see.
Carrie Miller
Great place that we were able visit free with our museum reciprocal pass. My son loved all the interactive exhibits. We were thankful for the signs because he also had a lot of questions. I wish there was a plane that you could get inside. It looked like that might be something that is offered sometimes, but none were open when we were there on veteran's day.
Riccardo Renna
Nothing beats a good party in an unusual location...just like in the 80s. Enjoyed the concept and the organization.
Surprisingly the audio was well set without creatingvstrange echoes or similar. And what about the privè in the space lab simulator?
P.S. definitely my T-shirt was the best gadget of the event. 😁
A C
Utilized as one of our 3 choices included as a City Pass. Short visit was jam-packed with tons to learn! Plethora of information for all ages in a novel and grandiose presentation housed within an actual airplane hangar and state-of-the-art theater.
R 2021
Civil Air Patrol for age 12 to 18 youth aerospace training & leadership. First 4 Tuesdays evening each month. My son was able to Solo in both fixed wing & glider. His experience with CAP lead to a Service Academy appointment. Thank you Wings Over the Rockies!
Dan Gibbons
The museum has grown quite a bit since our last visit. They have some great new interactive displays for adults and kids alike.
Ryan Kelley
Amazing place to visit. They have a huge variety of aircraft to look at. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.
Barry Paiga
Pretty cool place to visit. They had lots of different aircraft to look at. My only drawback is it seemed like a work in progress. There was lots of space for more exhibits and many areas seemed under construction.
Phyllis Moran Bohon
Excellent place for everyone to get a little military history of how the military planes have been advanced through the years.
Gordon Freiburg
I went to quite a few air museums on my trips to the US and this museum is in the top 10. It has a B1A on display, one of three(?) ever built, a F111 and many other fascinating exhibits.
Nicolas Inay
Awesome small aerospace museum. Only 4 star as the entry/admissions was very very slow. Also if you wanted something out of the gift shop you may have to wait in the admissions line to pay.🤔 …
Ali Bakir
One of the cutest destinations in Denver. Many old-school jets and airplanes, plus a couple of control rooms.
Josh Crips
Absolutely awesome place, there are great people who maintain these beautiful aircraft. I have so many good memories here, the staff here is awesome, the exhibits are awesome, and I'm so happy to see it. I hope everyone in the area gets to see it.
Billy Vaj
Pretty cool spot with great history.
Judy Sanders
A great little aviation museum, with some unique exhibits. The theater has some very nice, free shows, including one hosted by Harrison Ford.
Milissa Rowell
If you can, plan for a many visits as you can! There's soooo much to see here, and it's all worth taking your time to take it all in.
Manny Fresh (Manny Fresh)
My son Max loves planes and I work for United Airlines. This Sunday wings over the Rockies it was hosted by United Airlines it was a wonderful experience for my son and I thank you United
James G
Been going to this place for years for various events and staff is always top notch and the exhibits are awesome. So many fun things to see. Don't miss exploring the little rooms around the edge of the main hanger for awesome smaller exhibits.
Dennis Henry
We booked a couple of back to back functions here that included work and our Veterans group. It was great to experience the museum as part of our fees to use the room.
Randy Plank
Went to an after hours banquet here, so there were no crowds to deal with. Exhibits were amazing, although no simulators were up or cockpits were open. There are some great moments in aviation history exampled here.
Michael Crist
Great experience, $11 to $15 to get in and lots if aircraft to check out from all eras. There's a flight experience, $ 7.50 for 5 min, allowing you to execute full 360 rolls as you you attempt to engage enemy air. Tried it, definitely strap in tight. Bunch of hits but no kills. There a friendlier version without the movement
Judy Connell
I have lived in Colorado all of my life and didn't know about this place. It was very fascinating and love the area around it too. We chose to make a day of it for a little nephew's birthday with lunch, the museum and ice cream after.
Shauna Garza
As you can see my husband enjoyed himself here. I think anyone who, as a as a child dreamed of flying planes are going into space, would enjoy themselves here. My only complaint would be that they need to do more interactive programs with the aircraft. But definitely a great way to spend a few hours.
Rob Smith
Very nice collection of planes. The B-52 on a pillar in front of the entrance is suitability awe-inspiring. Other standouts include a B-1A Lancer and one of the few remaining B-18 Bolos. You can get remarkably close to the planes and each exhibit is well signed. There's also quite a few side rooms and simulators you can purchase time on to try. The side exhibit on nose art was well done. Also don't miss the demilled nuclear weapons. Amazing.
Jay Kane
Definitely worth a visit if you are interested in aviation, civil or military the B1 and B-52 are worth the visit alone. Phil Mentasana, a F-4 Phantom pilot and Vietnam Veteran gave us a great tour of the commercial simulators and answered a plethora of other questions for us!
Anthony Miranda
This is an amazing place, there are a lot of airplanes and some games. I would like to have a guide or an audio guide with more information.
Jacob White
Great museum. Good fun. Try to go on sit in the cockpit day! Great volunteers can answer questions and tell some neat stories.
They also have an xwing and a podracer recreation for us Star Wars fan.
You would think a hangar this large would be chilly in the winter but it was super pleasant.
I posted a video too so you can see what is all there in an overview.
Steve Cook
Informative. Great collection of aircraft.
Stacia Rabith
A fun educational museum. It's fun enough for a date outing, or afternoon with the kids, or to peruse by yourself. The main exhibit changes, so check the website for more info. There are good food options close by, too.
Sharon Martinez
Great place to go if you're interested in our history . Vacation in Denver this year to show grand daughter a little history of her great grandfather.
Bonnie Bair
This is an amazing museum! Loved the Nose Art room especially after reading the book "Unbroken" about Louis Zamparini and how he told about choosing the art for his plane. So many great things to see and experience! My niece and nephew had fun with the flight simulator. Sadly they don't have a smashed penny machine, but one of the docents said there might be one in the restaurant next door, though I didn't have time to confirm it.
Joe Whistler
Very nicely done exhibit! If you love aviation, space exploration, or airplanes, you must visit!
B Stiteler
This place is amazing!! I didn't know Lowry AFB still had buildings standing. A great museum to grab a quick look at some history. Check out the space portion also.
Aaron Cross
My children have loved coming here since they were very little and it still holds true. Staff are always extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I'm always impressed with how clean and well presented all the exhibits and planes are kept, we keep missing the open cockpit day, but it's a good thing we have a membership so we'll make it one of these days. My favorite is the space section and look forward to seeing what new rotating exhibit is coming next.
Cay Strother
Great visit. Learned alot. Amazing to see volunteers working on aluminum planes with aluminum wool to shine them up. Very cool planes and other flying vehicles. We have to go back and finish.
Katie Fish
We love this museum! My son and I have made it a tradition to come here whenever we are in town for doctor visits or surgeries at Children's Hospital. He loves doing the simulators. And every time we come we find something new to learn or see. The veteran volunteer workers are so sweet and we love hearing all their interesting facts and information.
Joshua Koepke
The museum offers a variety of aircraft throughout aviation history on full display. Side rooms feature air and space themed exhibits. Also on display are large replicas of a Star Wars X-Wing and podracer. Several armaments are displayed including nuclear bombs. Took me about 90 minutes.
Justin
A well put together aviation museum. Some of the displays weren't working when we visit, but the aircraft were all intact and really cool to see up close. The staff was amazing, willing to field questions and share stories about the aircraft, the pilots, and the history of the air station. It was certainly worth the drive to get there. As I mentioned before, some stuff needed repair, but I got the feeling the issue was more budgetary than a lack of passion.
A G
I could have stayed all day! My kiddo enjoyed it somewhat. He was too young to appreciate and understand it all.
Oscar Fonseca
It is an interesting museum. I do think they would benefit from having a suggested path to walk it, since it looks more like a gallery full of artifacts than a museum that tells a story. It is worth visiting too because it shows the story of the former airport and the time where it held the Air Force academy.
Libni Chavez
Educational place and on top of that they do a ton of cool events
Stephanie Colley
Beautiful museum with so much to see, really neat artifacts, and a large variety of aircraft!
Emma Willcockson
This experience visiting Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space museum was so fun and interesting! We had a group of just adults and had just as much fun learning new things as the kids around us. Definitely worth a trip in, even just to look at all the planes they have and are restoring!
Scott Wyckoff
It had a lot to see that you wouldn't really expect. The location is tucked away in a neighborhood and there are several nice restaurants nearby.
Daisy Rogers
The food is nice, they reinforce social distancing so I felt safe. Is a great place of you have kids or dogs, that gave a treat to my doggie when we arrive. The food is delicious too!
Erik Nerheim
This is a great aviation museum, the volunteer veterans that were there when I visited made the experience great by telling their stories of flying the aircraft that were on display and what it was like to serve in the military durring their time. Great place to visit!
Deborah Maynard
Interesting museum that we went to attend a wedding. Replicas and original aircraft to explore. Two floors with outdoor areas.
Mitchell Inc LLC
I absolutely love this place!!! My 5yr old was amazed by all planes and simulators there!! We are visiting but will make this our permanent spot when in town ❤️
Matthew Pallone
A must see for any aviation buff or even if you've just got a few hours to kill while in east Denver. The highlight for me was the B1-A Lancer just die to the sheer size and being able to walk underneath it. Also loved seeing the Adam M-309 which was the experimental predecessor to the Adam A500 centerline prop plane. Lots of stuff for kids and some really good history of aerospace at Lowry AFB.
Aida Berry
I took my son to this museum for him to gain more interests on Air & Space, and he loved it a lot
Emily Scheibeler
The museum has some really cool things in it. Was a good way to spend the evening for the free night at the museum event. The staff seemed a little frazzled with the event but it was still a good experience. Just note all of the coolest interactive exhibit experiences cost extra, but that's understandable. I enjoyed it. Would recommend.
Wayne Lewis
Incredible facility, displays, and people! I had never heard of this museum, but luckily found it by Google map surfing during a layover in Denver. Awesome range of vintage aircraft in incredible condition, though the majority of the airframes no longer had their engines. I love the Century Series fighters, so stumbling upon this place that has them all was a dream come true.
In addition to the rockets and aircraft (which includes ordinance!), there are many special displays that you will only see at a really historic museum, such as a huge displays of uniforms, flight suits, helmets, nose art, etc.!
The best thing I experienced at the museum, however, was the staff -- which included a number of veterans of the Air Force. Whether they were pilots or not, they gave you the low down on what you were looking at. It was a pleasure to speak with them and I really wished I could just hang out and probe them for stories of their service.
If you dig military aviation, this is an absolute must-do on your next trip to Denver.
Ron in Kansas
Great museum! Must admit to a bit of bias, based on the plane that made me become a pilot being there.
Feisty Spirits
So interesting! I was deeply amazed. So close to my family and didn't even realize it existed. Came to this venue for Queens of Jazz Candelight Concert. Also amazing.
Veronica Winters
Can be real boring for women but a lot of fun for men😂 Children can have a good time here. Lots of exhibits. Informational. So if you like such museum you'll enjoy it! …
Russ Carver
It is awesome seeing all the planes. You cannot get in them (though the website says you can). You will spend an hour of just looking. Double that if you want to go slower and read every plaque. You should book the two simulators very early on in the day as we went at 2:00 and saw them last in our visit and they were already completely full of reserved times.
Ashish Bhandari
I love this place, I have a love for aviation and this place gives an awesome experience through out the museum. I love the big birds and the whole section dedicated to the astronaut and the rockets. Great place to take the kids and love the collection of avionics they have. The virtual reality rides they have are good. I would definitely consider this place if you are visiting denver.
Curt Roebuck
Here for the NMFWA banquet. Had the museum to our selves. Very nice with lots of planes, exhibits and historical information.
Jason Rabideau
Awesome museum of military aircraft, uniforms, simulations, and even spacecraft. My kids have loved coming here since they were 2. Highly recommend.
Mr Mookie
Amazing aviation museum in Denver. Some fun simulators and great for the kids. Added bonus of a beer garden next door.
Sandeep Chiluka
You need to book the tickets online. My son loved it. They maintained well and a good place to learn.
Amanda Scott
We only had two hours to visit but could have easily spent 2 more looking through everything. The kids and adults both enjoyed themselves.
Subroto Biswas
It was a great experience exploring history of aviation and aircrafts. Spent close to two hours.
Chuck R
Definitely a great learning experience all around. You get to see so many different types of planes, equipment etc. Employees very professional and friendly. Hope to revisit one day.
Nick The Denver Dirt Jumper
This place is amazing so meany cool old planes and great for the whole family.
Chris
Saw Bonobo play here at a special event. This venue is top of the line for dance music, I hope they have more shows here.
Alisa Robinson
We went on kids for a dollar day and had a great time. So much for everyone to explore! The only downside, is there's no restaurant or tables to eat at. It was a little awkward eating the lunch we packed on benches in the lobby.
Marty Cochran
Good day with my wife-thanks...Helaina🤪💕. Nice museum...had one of 4 B1-A's that dad worked on! Happy Father's Day dad...we miss you and love you! …
Ajay Rao
Enjoyed my time here. All the exhibits had really good info about them. Price is bit on the higher side keeping in mind the number of exhibits and when compared to other aerospace museums such as Udvar-Hazy (DC) or Kennedy Space center (Fl).
Isaac R.
Such a cool place!!!
I wish I could spend more time here
David Shingledecker
Not your over-full museum but a comprehensive look at the aircraft that shaped our country from the end of WWII through the cold war. Includes the space program, too.
Abs Cogelja
The flight simulator was so cool and there were so many different planes. Going into it I wasn't sure that I would like it, but it ended up being an awesome experience
David Swiston
It wasn't the biggest air and space museum I've been to but it had some good stuff, you can get close to everything, and the kid section was a fun bonus. The side rooms were neat to checkout too.
Aaron McQueen
A nice well maintained active museum with a friendly staff. The Boys we're excited when they saw students working on building and flying RC aircraft. I can't wait to go back.
Heather Kennedy
Mostly handicap accessible. A lot to learn and read about each object or moment in history. I off course adored the star wars stuff. There were a few cool things the kids could interact with which kept them busy. We were there about 3 hours. I would of stayed longer but the kiddos got bored. It would be super neat if they had and an adult and children designed audio tour, but the object hunt they had was fun.
Eduardo Garcia Carreras
Amazing museum. Great, rare, planes. Wonderful space. Friendly staff. Very recommended.
Priscila Scherrer
Cool spot to take photos and spend an afternoon. I did find the entrance VERY pricey, considering the most interesting activities inside cost extra.
Ben Larson
Really neat museum with very well designed exhibits. I definitely feel like I learned something after visiting.
A K
Great place for adults and kids. A lot of things to see and learn. The tickets for interactive things for kids go fast, so buy early.
The only thing that I was very disappointed with - was that they had these little mini plane with pedals, basically like a bike that looked like a plane. My 4 year old son excitedly went into one and was riding around for a minute. A woman came out and said those are only for a birthday party and proceeded to take them all away and put them behind a rope. My son was so disappointed. He's 4, he wasnt going to stay on those for an hour, probably another minute or two. I understand they were needed for something else, just can't believe another minute would've made such a big difference, enough to take it away from a little boy who couldn't wait to get to this museum. That's why I give it 3 stars, if not for that, definitely would have been 5.
ej r
Educational, Actual Aero-planes, Fun exhibits, Helpful polite front desk, low cost entry fee.
Mike November
First visit and was lucky to have Phillip, a former “Double Ugly pilot” provide me with nearly a guided tour of the place. I could have stayed there all day listening to him speak. Wow! He was amazing and the reason I will definitely go back. Thank you Phillip for a very memorable visit.
Thea Bruce
Loved it great for all ages. Hands on too with simulated rides. Lots of space so stroller friendly.
Jerry Snead
Was in town on business for a few days. As a military history buff, I really wanted to check this place out. Unfortunately, it was only open when I was working. I did drive over after hours to take several photos of the B-52 parked out front. Was awesome to be up close & personal with such a great plane!
Susan Stokley
Super interesting! Lots of planes and some interactive tours too. Dont forget to poke around in the side rooms and along the outer edges, some good stuff there, too!!
Ralph McCoy
Great place to take the kiddos to learn about aviation. Friendly staff and nice gift shop!
Marilyn Sterrett
This is a cute little museum rich in Colorado history. For the price, it was lacking, though to be fair, part of the museum was closed. The kids enjoyed it. A one time only trip due to cost/offerings ratio.
Laurie Sine
All kinds of planes, and anything related to flying, with video clips at some displays and signs with info at all. Flight simulators you can pay to ride. Found out you can have kids birthday parties there. Knowledgeable staff will provide more interesting info and stories.
Tom Swart
This was a very interesting place to explore. The only issue was the simulators were supposed to be available for our event but they didn't have the them turned on.
Cindy Wutke
I highly recommend bringing your family to see all the Wings Over the Rockies museum has to offer!
David Crosby
Nice museum with some great artifacts which also includes local Colorado history in aviation.
Topher B
Great museum in the Lowry neighbourhood. Staff is courteous and friendly. Know quite a bit about air and space; along with deep knowledge of the former Lowry Field that the neighbourhood now occupies.
Brad Wright
Really enjoyed the air and space museum. Alot of great planes to see up close.
Jessica Allen
Super cool with real planes. Great gift shop. Wonderful volunteers, most of whom were pilots themselves.
TJ miller
Who dosent love amzaing constructions of composite alloys ?!?
B52, F14, F4 , HUEYS, & a Soviet era Mig all reside in the coolest aircraft hangar I've ever visited !!!
Well worth the money and time spent !!
Mark Brush
Fantastic museum! Aircraft are meticulously maintained, hangar is beautiful.
Zachary Olsen
The starwars festival was absolutely incredible! If you're in town for may 4th, 10/10 would recommend. We got to sit in an actual x wing! The staff was great, the atmosphere was wonderful. It was one of my favorite places to visit in Denver. The only thing I wish they would've had was more starwars!
Guadalupe Gallegos
Went to Whiskey X and it was a great time! From the museum experience to the food trucks and the tastings it was GREAT!!!! KUDOS 👏 👏👏👏
Troy Roersma
It's a nice well kept museum in an old airplane hangar. Some fairly rare aircraft and some movie prop crafts. My only complaint is the number of planes. Probably 30-40 planes. Easy to do the entire museum in under an hour, definitely can't spend more than 2 hours there. Nice museum but not worth the cost of the ticket.
John Lewis
This is a fun museum that has reciprocal membership with other science centers through the ASTC program. My only concern is that the museum itself isn't well organized, but the planes are very cool to look at. When I went there were also three simulators available for an additional fee.
Barbara Cole
We had several companies celebrating here. Was wonderful, fun and interesting. Excellent space for such. However would also recommend for family or school outing visit.
Casey Kitto
A big place with multiple activities for different ages. We came with kids from 8 down to 1, and they all loved it!!!!
Justin Agerton
Pretty good museum they did a really good job on the information plaques for the exhibits for bot the young and old
Jacob Thomas
Best air museum I've ever been to. Volunteers are extremely knowledgeable, all aircraft have a service history and are in great shape. A must visit
Harlan Penninger
Great aerospace museum that can be done in a half day.
Aubre rodrigue
Had an amazing time here with the family. Really cool place to go.
Michael Stenzel
Excellent, all modern jet aircraft, no WW2
A little crowded for good pictures.
Mike Knolinski
This place is definitely a must for aviation fans! Better than eaa museum in Oshkosh, Wis. I think.
Amy Johnson
Very cool place! We were there for a find raider, so very different experience.
Jason Lihani
I thought for sure I reviewed this place before, but Google insists I haven't. I've lived in Colorado my whole life, and this is easily one of my favorite places in the state (behind Pikes Peak and Denver Botanic Gardens). I absolutely adore this museum. Every time I go I leave so inspired. In terms of air and space museums, the museum itself is modest but I'm usually there for around 3 hours or so. But this museum has SO MUCH HEART. The place oozes passion. Everything from the detail of the exhibits to "Behind the Wings" to the knowledge of the staff makes this place a wonderful place to spend time. This is 1000% a museum for all aviation/military/space enthusiasts. This place and Behind the Wings were a huge inspiration when deciding to get my pilot's license. They really do an amazing job here.
Also the gift shop rules. I have never gone in and left empty handed. It's dangerous for people like me.
V8Mama76
Amazing history lesson! Would definitely add to the "need to go" list!
Ed Cathers
10 out of 10, we have been to several air and space museums, this one is both the perfect size, and great displays. The staff were knowledgeable and energized by tough questions. Many had personal stories about the aircraft that were fascinating to listen too. They were patient with our youngest one. Highly recommend starting in the harrison ford theater then working counter clockwise around the hanger. If you have kids, they have a play area with astronaut dress up and activities, with seats for parents. Some hidden exhibits were the aviation communications of to the side of the simulators, the Colorado national guard behind the F4 phantom, and the airforce academy and lowery field display upstairs. Also upstairs is a display of the majority of airports in colorado, funny enough they dont have a picture of the DIA denver international airfield... i wonder why?
Alexander Stroh
Not much information on the exhibits, rather for children
Steve Horvath
We loved this museum. Great ✈️ planes and hands on displays. We bought a City Pass and this was one of the places to see. One of our five and well worth it. Beware kids love everything in the gift shop. Between wife and kids we spent upwards of $300🤑🤑🤑. Highly recommended. Enjoy we spent 4 hours here that’s with eating next door at the Beer Garden. There food Wes great but also costly $79 for a family of four.
Alex Kirmer
amazing museum for cold war and post cold war era military aviation
Kathleen Goldstrom
Great selection of aircraft, old and new! Delightful to see what Lowry AFB has been remembered by!!! Great history!!!
Mark R.
Love the area, went to whiskey tasting in the museum fantastic venue. Ask Remo
Nick Laffen
Amazing to see all of the planes and items in real life, up close and personal.
Mark Murgia
I've been wanting to go here at some point now living here almost five years. We spent about three hours going through everything, I could have stayed a bit longer. The beer garden next door is a great thing as well.
Daniel Short
A great place to visit! It is a bit pricey but I totally understand considering the quality of the museum.
Jay Schreiber
Very cool use of the space. It's an old air force hanger converted into a museum. Not the largest but definitely worth going once.
Manuel López
Love it , I hope they get an A-10 Warthog soon , for know I will sttle with the X wing fighter!
Visit!
Carlton Cook
Great experience, really loved all the aircrafts they had for our family to see and learn about. Historical to current timeframe even, highly recommended as a family activity.
Joshua A
Really cool place full of history! Great exhibitions of airplanes. Worth the price.
Tony Bucci
I enjoyed visiting the museum, it is situated in an airplane hangar and it is full of interesting civilian, space and military(and Star Wars!) aircraft. There was an air force veteran that greeted us kindly as we entered the hangar (wish I had asked him more questions) there is a plaque for just about every aircraft and object in there that are informative and interesting to read.
Kimberly Kwan
Great museum if you have an interest in aviation! It was pretty quiet on a weekday if you want to avoid crowds. You need to pre purchase tickets online. Highly recommend.
Danny H
Great experience!!! Super friendly staffs!!! Loved hearing detailed information. Thank you !!
tommy
I haven't checked the museum out, but I did go to a concert here. The show was inside a pretty gigantic hangar. Pretty cool to be dancing next to airplanes from different eras while jamming out to edm.
Bobby Watson
Very interesting displays of various retired aircraft with good descriptions of each.
Allan
Totally awsome, great viewing access a lot of good information and friendly staff.
Bonnie Wenners
Love this museum! Close to home. Clean! Senior free day and it was not crowded. Free film was awesome! Displays are pristine. Gift shop is affordable and has so many items available!
Naaz
Kids always love coming here!
Trisha Watson
Such a great setup of both air and space attractions, lots to learn for all ages. The employees on the floor were so knowledgeable and helped make such an amazing experience.
John Costigan
If you like old "warbirds", this is the place to come see. It has everything from a B1 bomber to a Vietnam Huey helicopter. It has extensive displays on man's progress on space exploration. You can spend a day here and not see everything.
Garrett Buckmaster
Amazing museum that does alot of cool events. The concerts and annual hops in the hanger are both good times.
Emily Prows
Tons of hands-on stuff for kids. We went on a free admission day and it was wonderful.
Johnny Throckmorton
Great museum for air plane buff's. We enjoyed a candle light concert here and highly recommend it. The X-Wing model signed by Lucas , Ford and others is a must see.
John Alvares
Awesome aviation museum. I felt like a kid again going through there. I could've spent all day in there but we had to catch a flight out.
Casey Barrett
Always love the Museum, it's good for kids and adults, and they have some amazing special events there too!
Samantha Rosenberg
Very neat and full of history but so incredibly warm inside. Almost unbearably warm and we went on an overcast day.
Joshua Kirchner
This was great. Enjoyable for both adults and kids. Some really cool stuff and great information boards. Spent 2 hours here and only really took in about 1/2 of it. I would go again for sure.
Aleya Veach
Super fun experience!! The tour guide we had was very knowledgeable and passionate about the planes and telling the stories behind them. There was a guy that did paper airplane tutorials and he was great too. I thought I knew how to make a good paper airplane but quickly realized I was wrong 😆 We had a great time! …
David Schermerhorn
Neat museum for the space. Fun exhibits. Harrison Ford Theater is really nice
Teri Ann Frey
Had a great time exploring the planes. The star wars pod racer and x-wing were favorites.
Stephanie Hammer
What a great experience. Loved walking around and seeing all the different plans.
Randy Lash
I met a guy in A parking lot across the street from WOTR and test dove his car and this site bugs me at least twice a week to rate.Jeez!
Daniel Peaslee
Saw Doc the B-29. Had tickets for 11 am but they never checked the time on them and sold tickets to any walk up even though there were multiple signs that they were sold out. They let in so many people early that we only saw the plane at 3pm and it was still 2-3+ hrs to get inside the plane.
Diane Brooks
Pretty cool place very family friendly very interactive for the kids the staff is very kind very clean environment very nice well done
Hany Darwish
Amazing, family friendly and exciting for kids. We had a wonderful time there.
Eric Wiens
Such a wonderful place. You can't hide a pod racer from me!
Alexander Hernandez
Get your CityPass, this place was amazing
Cherie
Very well maintained and laid out display! The volunteers are knowledgeable. While there Saturday midday, there was plenty of parking in their own lot, so that made it easy.
Ben B
Some cool exhibits here, highlights including the enormous B-25 out front and the B-1A inside, as well as the stunning Douglas B-18 Bolo. Many of the other aircraft on display are variants of models regularly found at other air & space museums, but they’re still cool to see, especially so for first timers. Best part of my visit was a conversation with one of the volunteers. I would definitely recommend interacting with them when you visit, because they have great passion and are happy to share with those who are interested.
Michael Weida
Far exceeded my expectations! Amazing collection of a variety of plans from the past century, as well as some cool sci-fi (Star Wars) vehicles for those REALLY nerdy types (like myself) to enjoy!
All very well displayed, with informative placards. I believe there was one plane you could get into the cockpit, but it seemed to be aimed at kids, so we didn't stand in the line.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone going on a trip to Denver!
Carlos Maciel
I really enjoyed this museum. It has some really interesting aircraft I hadn't seen in person yet, even though I had been to much larger air & space museums, so that was cool. I liked how they kept most expositions centered around their connection to Colorado, and how there's a balcony so you can see most of the aircraft from above - a rare point of view!
Debora Packard
This museum is awesome. If you love military history, this is your place.
Scott Morris
Nice museum with plenty of cool planes.
Lacie Killion
Came here for a candlelight string quintet. The venue is astonishing
Ren Earl
Wonderful place to see and learn about airplanes and history. The dosent was great. Learned about rubber, hydraulic system and weapons advances. Even learned about rivits and carbon fiber development.
John Poplin
Nice trip back in time. I went to training at this base in 1972. Many of the fighter flew out of the base I was stationed at in Arizona, Luke Airforce base 1972 thru 1975.
Karin H
What an incredible museum! So many aircraft and so much history. We explored every inch and loved the wonderful docents that gave us so much context. We will go back!
Anita Knight
My family and I love the museum. The flight simulator is also a great experience. The admission is a bit pricey though.
R Burt
Very interesting place! A lot of cool things they offer here
Tobin Fitch
Little lack luster but still very fun. Wish it was a bit more wheelchair accessible though. Wasn't help to get up to tunnel and gift shop quite cramped. The halloween event seemed like it would have more we shower up towards end so maybe that's why but want much going on. I am moderate functioning autistic and the brightness was bit much as was lack of what to do. But was cool to see all the planes and space stuff deff be back.
Nik Kesic
It was good to visit again as it had been years. But the venue has a lot to see and experience. Our guide took us through decades of aviation history and it was impressive. The stories he told...wow.
Erik Braley
#1 this is an amazing museum. Excellent displays, one of the better air museums I've been to.
#2 the way they treat former vets is the greatest I've seen. My dad trained at the base where the Museum now stands. They had him sign a book and talked a lot to him. It's rare to see that and it made his day.
Nicholas Pool
Great displays and tactful amount of information regarding each (not too little, not overwhelming). Nice walking area, well laid out, not congested.
Melissa Lee
My son says he would give it 5,000 stars because it has the actual X-Wing plus the droid makes noise! Very kind man in the gift shop.
Nathan Werner
Had a fun time here. It was clean and the attendants were happy and very courteous. The Wright flyer simulation was free and quite the kick.
First Class Custom Tint
If air and space is your thing, this museum will not disappoint you. Sitting inside an old hanger of the air force base the museum provides a wide selection of planes, rockets, and historical exhibits. Some exhibits even provide an opportunity to sit at the controls so you can get a true feel of the aircraft, however these were closed due to COVID protocols during our visit. Staff here is helpful and friendly. Free parking and the gift shop has a good variety. Great museum, definitely recommend!!!
Mary Mulry
Great place to visit. Went to a table top trade show there. Great venue.
John Pinsonneault
I love this place. There are lots of volunteers who know their stuff, there are some amazing old planes, and its a great place to bring the kids on a rainy afternoon
Kevin Graska
Great place to view some aviation history. If you like planes you won't be disappointed. Lots to check out.
Cory Moravits
If you have a love of air and space, or a historical bent for weapons of war, this place is a must go. There is plenty of parking (parking lot and street), and there are restaurants and bars within walking distance after your visit. This is a really cool part of town, and Wings is a big part of it.
cootars
Very clean and awesome kept museum!
Mercedes Anderson
We really enjoyed exploring the museum and learning about Colorado’s impact on aviation.
Raneri Claudio
Great introduction by the Staff.........and: at last, I touched a Starfighter F-104......FUNNNNNTASTIC PLACE!! Do not miss it !
Johnathan LeCorn
Cool venue however if event has music the building has HoRRible acoustics.
Keith Barto
A very awesome flight museum with a lot to explore and experience.
Dylan Gutierrez
Really cool if you're into aircraft, history or sci-fi, this place survives on volunteers and donations so consider either one. Great restaurants and bars nearby for after your tour.
Ed Holtzendorff
Great collection of memorable aircraft...past, present and future.
Carlos Burns
Aviation history in a large Hanger
Keja Rowe
Fantastic museum with lots interactive exhibits, as well as free tours.
Patrick Shannon
This Museum is ran by really great people who work very hard to recreate the history and story of every piece on display! If a 30 year Chief gives this place a thumbs up you know it is worth the visit! Take the kids too!
Artem Ryabov
No guides, all QR-codes do not work. Most of the interesting places are closed.
Jo Richardson
The staff was very accommodating and helpful when one of our individuals needed medical attention.
Al Abramson
Very interesting museum where you see things you wouldn't expect in an air museum.
Bue No
Stunning and breathtaking displays of airplanes and their history. They even have a life size 'X-Wing' fighter, used in Star Wars movies.
Liz W
What a unique and interesting place to go visit! It's an amazing experience to be so close to the actual planes. Just the amount of history in one building is amazing. They do a great job explaining the types of airplanes and what they were built for. May not hold the interest of smaller children, but they do a good job of keeping things there for all ages.
Grace Armstrong
We saw the Fever String Quartet performing Coldplay.
We enjoyed the performance very much!
Getting to see all the aircraft was a great bonus.
Dawn
This place is awesome. You gotta see the Star Wars X-Wing fighter they have!!
Mark Palazzo
Wonderful air and space museum. Wish the collection was larger.
Brian Clark
This is such a cool museum! The entire area is clean and well kept, the staff is very nice. The exhibits are all great. This is a great place to go if you want to learn and check out some cool Colorado aviation history. Super kid friendly and the COVID precautions are good but non-intrusive.
Courtney Kruse
We spent a couple hours here with our young kids (4 and 6 yrs old). They enjoyed the kids area and the simulator. My husband, whom has his private pilot's license, very much enjoyed the simulator. They had a lot of cool planes to look at. Would have given it five stars if they had more hands on exhibits and/or if they would've had planes you could get in to. A few looked like they may allow people in them, but not on the day we visited. Overall, I am glad we visited during our stay in Denver.
Jack Greenagel
really cool museum for all ages. it's amazing how many aircraft are crammed into one hanger. some are super unique planes and even a Wright brothers autographed propeller. super cool and totally worth the small entry fee.
Donald Moyer
Awesome place and they have the original X-Wing fighter on display signed by many of the actors
Joseph Sibley
Awesome place to see aircraft some not of this world.
Samuel
Fascinating info about all their aircraft and history.
Jordan Wood
Very cool museum with different types of aircraft. Very interesting. Worth the trip if you're interested in aircraft.
Nick Grecco
My first time visiting the museum in Denver will hope to send clients there soon
C.P. CAMERON
Very interesting aircraft on display. Trainer simulator was hair raising. 2 movies at Harrison Ford Theater on flying in Colorado and the history of the worl and the amazing progress we have made in last 100 years because of flying was extremely informative and well done.
Ryan Rowe
This is a little boring for a family. I think serious aviation lovers would enjoy it, but it didn't hold the kids attention very long. We spent more time in the kids play area then we did the actual museum.
Think nerdy more so then fun.
Regina Hillsberry
The staff are super helpful and nice.
So much amazing history! Even if airplanes aren't your thing, check it out. It won't disappoint.
Hugh Seagraves
Good museum. Friendly staff. Cool displays.
Trinity Begay
So much to see. There was a wait for the flight simulator. Suggest to check in first then take the tour
Jake Smith
If your into air and space this museum will not disappoint you. Sitting inside an old hanger of the air force base the museum provides a wide selection of planes to see up close... some even provide an opportunity to sit at the controls so you can get a true feel of the aircraft your viewing. Staff here is helpful and friendly … parking is ample and easily available. A great museum to spend a couple of hours!
Daniel Sauter
I hadn't visited the museum in years, but am glad I stopped in today for "cockpit day." They had ladders at multiple survey to allow you to see into the cockpits, and had volunteers at each aircraft to teach you about them. Since I last visited, they've added an EA-6B Prowler, MiG-23 Flogger, and F-100 Super Sabre. Their displays were great, the venue was clean, and there were no crowds. It was a perfect combination!
Arnold Turner
While visiting Colorado my son and I enjoyed seeing the Air and Space museum. It wasn't a guided tour, however the staff gave a great explanation of all the aircrafts and aviation equipment we'd see while there. We'll definitely be back to see the exhibits again in are next visit to Colorado.
Dessa Jones
Saw a lot of planes! Had a great time, and learned a lot.
Fights with Spirits
Love this place. Got the veteran discount even after saying I would pay full price. Good people. Great museum.
Matt Campbell
Not a connoisseur of Air Museums but we loved it. Super friendly staff/volunteers that were incredibly informative. Great layout and the displays were amazing
Liliya Blake
Awesome experience! Great collection of aircrafts with fascinating history! Whole family loved it
Jeffrey Stewart
By far, the best air museum west of the Mississippi to the west coast. Who has a B-52 parked in the driveway? Who has a B1-A? Who has the F-14 Phantom? WWI and WWII exceptional ecouterment memorabilia?;
one-of-a-kind air wings, exhibits - Leonardo da Vinci, Renaissance portraiture, GHWB service craft, restorations, WWII era hangar (Lowry AFB), M1A GP's (general purpose aka Jeep), uniforms, an original Norden Sperry Gyroscope, and oh, the exquisite loaned medals!!
