Reviews of U.S. Army Basic Combat Training Museum
Had a wonderful family day eating, watching a movie, going to the museum and just spending time with our son today. So happy and sad at the same time!!
Went to visit my Daughter what a wonderful experience. We learned about the Army history and enjoy other activities around.
We traveled from Illinois to SC. We went to the Field first and then the Museum! Both Beautiful. My daughter graduated and they held her ceremony here! It was stunning! They whole experience was wonderful. The stands were large and roomy. There were liaisons helping people and traffic. Hands down the coolest place to have such a large crowd!
Enjoyed all the history and wonderful memories I made with both of my son's October 2016 & August 2022
A fabulous activity when visiting your new soldier. Gives them a wonderful place to share with you all the things they've done during basic training and gives them a chance to see how other before have done it. Don't miss it.
Nice quiet spot on base to learn all about what happens at basic training and it's history.
Good place to take some pics before leaving Ft.Jackson BCT and AIT 🙂 …
It was nice reliving the basic training experience and seeing how trainees in the past used to go through training.
Shared the museum visit with my recent BCT graduate. He had a lot stories about Basic. The vehicles and displays are top notch. Visiting was well worth the time!
The actual museum was still closed due to Covid. Seeing the military vehicles on the outside was awesome.
The holographic still sergeants weren't working when we were there. The kids were kind of looking forward to be told to get off the bus. Oh well, the rest of the museum was a good experience as always.
Fort Jackson a beautiful place for a young soldiers to be trained an to start off at
It's so much to learn. Very interesting and lots of displays
Very informative as to what tour soldier endures and learns. Great that it's free too. Lots to look at. Really loved it!
Love how the hologram DS's are talking normally. I guess if they properly depicted them, than some Karen's would get up in arms about it. I loved the history of it all!
As a retired US Army Veteran during the Irak and Afghanistan War, I feel humbly honor and grateful to have been part of the Ft Jackson Training Family. Great place to visit and pay homage to those who died (mostly young men and women) during this 9/11 memorial weekend. The courage, discipline and selfless sacrifice of a few to give us the (F5): Freedom to enjoy Faith, Family and Friends Forever. We will never Forget Battle Warriors.
A great place to learn about Army basic combat training. Shows a historical overview of initial entry training. My 6 and 4 year olds loved the museum. The tanks on display outside are awesome. On the inside, there are many hands on and interactive exhibits. My son loved getting mad at the drill sergeant hologram.
I graduated from basic training herre in 1995. I'm from Minnesota so the heat was an issue. Also going through Basic training while dealing with ADHD without medication was a struggle. However, i enjoyed being part of our military.
Great Army history to visit, if you are attending a graduation..please make time for this, Semper Fidelis
This was a nice stop to visit and view some military history. I love to take my kids to these types of museums to let them see what our armed forces have used and currently use while protecting our country.
Small, but very informative about Basic - every soldier's family should check it out after their graduation. Keep in mind that it WILL be crowded every Friday because of this! And for any tank nut in the area, you MUST see the T30... Pictures just don't do it justice!
This museum uncovers the history of basic combat training from WWI to the present. This museum provides a great overview of what Soldiers learn in basic training and is a great place to visit with current Soldiers or veterans. I find that a lot of the exhibits trigger memories for people who have experienced BCT which leads to some really neat conversations. Beware, the museum is located in Ft Jackson, so you will need a military ID to get past the base gates.
More pictures available inside the museum.
It's been a amazing adventure and the drill Sargents have been kind and helpful and caring. Love the base
Had a great time at this museum. Not very big but they were able to put alot into it. Great place to learn about what drill sgts do and how they prepare soldiers for the u.s. army. An upgrade from previous military visted museums.
Very nice museum, clean and cool. Captures the essence of Army basic combat training phase by phase.
Very nice and numerous interactive displays even had a drill sergeant yelling via hologram which scared my son and hubby...the veteran and current soldier. Highly recommended.
