We have a great time exploring the Governor House and learning about history! The staff is friendly and dedicated to share information about history facts. The entry is free but you can give a donation. The house is fantastic. Stop by this place if you are in downtown Wyoming!
Mary Nippert
We loved this place. Just decided to explore it when going for a walk and it didn't disappoint. We've talked to our relatives who are local and told them they should visit this gem. It made me want to know more about Wyoming history.
Giovanni Silva
The self tour is free but a donation are appreciated. This place was cool to see along with a lot of original or replica pieces. You can take photos within the place. Probably will take you about 1hr to do the whole place but also depends on your speed. They have toilets on property.
Felicia Millen
Had been meaning to visit this for years! Surprised at how large the rooms were for such an old structure, beautiful antique furnishings. Not handicap accessible, many stairs. Self guided tour, information spots to text for information throughout home.
Christopher Smith
Great place to visit and explore! I worked here the summer after high school. I learned a lot and got to
Meet so many wonderful ancestors and first family members of previous Wyoming Governors. This Mansion is a gem in Cheyenne and a must see if you enjoy architecture and history this is the place for you!

We visited on summer vacation and it was just lovely! The staff/curators were very knowledgeable and kind:) The home is well cared for as well as the old-timey artifacts. Worth a visit for sure!

I love history! The old Governors mansion, here in Cheyenne, is one of my favorite kind of museums, free!
I was allow about an hour or so to go through it, depending on how much time you want to spend, but the different areas of the house are dated in different eras from when is started in the early 1900s, through when it was decommissioned about a decade or two ago in the early 2000s.
The staff are friendly, and willing to answer any questions you have.
Definitely worth a visit, especially if you are a history buff like my wife and I, and it is a great opportunity if you have kids, to show them how things have changed throughout the generations.

Very well preserved and displayed. So glad I stopped and saw it. Beautiful!

A great opportunity to learn about the history of Wyoming and the state's leaders. A unique piece to this museum is that the bedrooms are furnished in different decades, providing a glimpse into that particular period. The curator was well knowledgable and answered all of my questions with enthusiasm and detail.
Charlene Oliver
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Each room decorated uniquely in different time period

I'm free to the public if you want to give a donation it's optional. It's a self-guided tour bring the bill and wait for somebody to open. The gentleman that work there had excellent manners and very cordial

A nice, quiet, informative look into the history of Wyoming. Really pretty fascinating to see the layout. I think my favorite room was the Sun Porch on the 2nd floor.

We just got back from this year’s “Tinsel Through Time”. OUTSTANDING! Have been going through this treasure chest every year, but this year the staff & volunteers have out done themselves. Very classy. By picking “Old West” as a theme the staff has enabled themselves to keep it simple, and not so over the top. They have gathered wonderful artifacts & photos that gives the displays a fresh and more realistic western appeal. PLEASE, make this a must on your holiday adventures. It will become a tradition.
Thanks to the incredible staff & volunteers! You make Cheyenne & Wyoming a better place.

It was close 1sth day of January 2019 .

A free, must see destination that is part of the WY State Parks, this is a home used by the state governors until 1976, the home has a lot of history, a Cold War era fallout shelter and displays of life within the home from formal to family time, easy to find, open 7 days a week and free, this Georgian style home is worth the trip, time is about an hour to explore 4 floors.
Joyful CB Rothe

You are allowed to tour the mansion on your own. It's fantastic. Very worth your time to check it out. Stay 10 minutes or an hour, go at your pace. Take in the history of all who have lived there. Enjoy.

It is self guided so you can take your time and look at all the info in the rooms. Only some things are original but the did a great job of filling the home with appropriate furniture and cloths

This governor's residence is curb appeal perfection. The best part of our visit was learning a little about the wives of past governors. Be sure to stop by when in the area. Just like all the attractions in Cheyenne, parking is right out front on the street.
