Reviews of Warhawk Air Museum
Justin Whalen
I visited for the Kilroy Coffee event and had the wonderful and fleeting opportunity to meet and listen to several WWII veterans share their stories. I also met with many other veterans that served our great nation. The museum is great to walk around and just immerse yourself in history...not to mention, the team at the Warhawks Museum records Veterans stories so that they are preserved. We saw a safe that had thousands of discs, each representing a veteran.

This museum has a large collection of military history from people who served from the state of Idaho. Their plane collection is small, but the aircraft on the display are well maintained and still flown. They have 1 of 3 still flying P51c variants in the world.
There are two P40 Warhawks that have a list of Hollywood credits to their name as they were featured in several movies.
The main part of the museum is stories, posters, and gear used in the military from WW1 to Vietnam. There are plans we were told to add a 3rd wing to the museum with 2 more aircraft and stories/history from Vietnam to today.
Paul or docent was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. As we walked to the different displays, he shared the stories of the people they featured, which was fascinating (for the adults that is). The kids were more interested in the large gift shop, of course, that had a great selection of shirts, aviation centric gifts, and toys.

This is one of the best laid-out museums. It says it is the "Warhawk" museum, but there is so much more! The outgoing nature of the personnel made the museum a fun experience. The front desk made sure the kids had a seek and find in the party checking in before us, and they were all different. The 3 volunteers we encountered around the museum were happy to share some unknown knowledge about the displays we were near. This isn't a see it once never go back museum. We will be back!!!

Just 20 min outside of boise. $14 entrance fee for adults. Worth it! We spent about 1.5 hours but could have spent more. A lot to read through. Many personal artifacts donated to make this place come to life. Local history. Planes to look at. Planes are functional and we learned they fly out every year in August. Many items in the gift shop. Restrooms in site. Wheelchair handicap accessible.
Alex A
What a great collection of WWII memorabilia and aircraft! The museum is a must see if you are in the area. The air show was like being in a time machine. The old fighter planes, the folks in period dress and the knowledgeable announcers made the day complete. The addition of the F-35 Demo Team was pretty cool too. Highly recommended!
Dan Moore
A good American military museum preserves the tools of war but a great American military museum preserves the stories of the great Americans who used those tools to fight for freedom! This museum, so marvelously managed by Lou and his staff, is a jewel in the Idaho Treasure Valley. Take time to visit. Prepare to be amazed!
Mandi Reynolds
Absolutely amazing.. educational...very friendly staff.. boys loved it.. had family meet us from Florida and walk with us.. they also enjoyed it. Especially the space shuttle stuff.. very cool to them
Nicolaas Staalberg
Incredible collection of military memorabilia. The display cases along with the hundreds of binders with personal history, is almost overwhelming. You could easily spend days here reading about all the people and experiences they had.

It was a great experience! I saw a ton of old historic planes from ww1, ww2, and the cold War. On top of all of the planes there were other historical things that were very interesting to see!

We purchased a membership to this museum, as we have two kids, 11 and 15, and we like to take museums in small doses of as little as 45 minutes if needed. Many times we do longer,, but the duration depends on complexity and amount of the information to be absorbed. This museum is chock full of all sorts of wartime artifacts. This visit was specifically to look for items we had seen in the 1st season of Band of Brothers, which our 15yo is watching for world history. What an amazing supplement to curriculum, and to life. Actual artifacts from General Doolittle amd other soldiers of all ranks, actual aircraft and other weapons. The staff is super friendly. Our first visit my 11yo and I got a spontaneous 10 min lesson from one of the volunteers.
Cassondra Harig
This museum is a hidden gem that we adore. We have a family membership and come often. You can stop by theTower Grill before or after your visit and watch the planes take off and land (both the grill and museum are located at the Nampa airport).
Shelli
The history here is amazing! Will go again, as there is no way to see all of it in just a couple of trips.
Matthew Sandra Moore
Really great place to explore and learn about the history of war planes and the men and women who have been part of our aviation history. We will remember this museum and hope to come back again. I think it is definitely worth the time to come by and see it. Give yourself several hours. There are exhibits that can take awhile to learn about. I believe we saw ww1 through the cold war planes. Jets and prop planes. Even cut outs of jet engines. Movie prop planes. Uniforms, art, and historical information.
Terry Farnham
Excellent Museum! While the static displays aren’t as many as I’d like they make up for it with the incredible first hand accounts contained in the books and binders along the walls !
Fascinating reading!
Annie Hoye
The Warbird Roundup is always an amazing show! My favorite was the P-38.
Loydna
Upon entering the Warhawk Museum you will be greeted by the warm hearty smile of a wonderful receptionist who upon asking about the museum will give you a wonderful Rundown.
Talk to any of the people in the light blue shirts who are veterans and volunteers and they will talk your ear off in the best way about all of the things you wish you knew before.
Many former service members have helped make this Museum what it is today and as you walk through this historical timestamp you can feel national pride each uniformed member carried.
This is a must visit for any citizen, especially any former service member.
Caity R.
Cool planes, cars, a helicopter. Lot of history and knowledge. Cool gift shop too.
Wheelchair accessible, public restrooms.
Dale J Hager
Wonderful place for everyone to reflect on our nations history of conflict and achievements and all that comes with it.
Great place for veterans and others to share stories of their experiences.
Amazing venue for events of all types.
Awesome aircraft and airshows.
Lauren Mueller
A huge variety of artifacts - many in excellent condition, but only for adults and older kids. There is no entering any plane or hands on, and no interactive exhibits for smaller kids. Tons of do not touch signs etc. Very cool to go to but I wouldn't take young children here. Even if they just added one plane or mockup that kids could go into it would be worth it, but we did not see that this time. Even a small area with toy planes etc they could play with would make this special for little kids and easier for adults that want to view the museum but are visiting with them.
Anthony T.
Awesome museum! I don't know what my expectations were before I went to the Warhawk museum, but they were more than exceeded. The aircraft on exhibit alone are worth the price of admission, but the rest of the exhibits and material makes this a fantastic collection. I took about 2 hours there and didn't have time to see half of what is on display. Definitely put this on your list if you appreciate history and particularly military history of the mid to late 20th century.
Dion A (The Black Pioneer)
A very nice museum! I like the old war birds! General Admission is $12 I used my AAA card also! Self guided tour.
Their were guys posted in the museum you could ask info if you had questions! This causes u 2 really interact with the museum! Learned a lot! Nice layout of displays filled wit history! Restrooms & gift shop available!
Tyler Robertson
This place was AMAZING. They have so much memorable pieces. The best part is the workers. All the planes clothes medals is all nothing compared to the stories the people tell. They really bring the museum to life.
Dan Richardson
This museum is an amazing place to visit and spend time! I had a guide named Larry who was awsome and was very familiar with what the museum had to offer. He pointed out many details I would have possibly overlooked and as a result could and learn from and appreciate. There are many personal and unique historical stories to enjoy that clarify and add meaning to many historical events to see. There are also personal histories which are local in nature and give personal glimpses that would be lost without this museum and can be found no where else. Be prepared to spend some time to fully appreciate and obsorb all that they have. I came expecting to spend an hour or so and left 4hrs later and still did not see it all. I really enjoyed the time spent there. I will definitely go back again.
Tracey Fitch
The background information and stories are amazing. Plenty of volunteers here to speak with all visitors. I entered expecting a bunch of airplanes with a 12"x12" descriptive sign. What I found was a treasure trove of stories and explanations of the past events.
If you are looking for fighter jets and planes they do have a few. Especially Migs.
Jacob Beck
Amazing variety of aircraft and historical objects. Just walking in the front door you're shown a few dozen binders full of stories and accounts from those that served, and that's just the start! Would definitely recommend stopping by and checking it out.
Rachel Arment
Great place but wow- no way to read all of the stories and material in one setting! Volunteers were great, whole place was a treasure trove of veterans’ histories.
Steven Reaves
Incredible place ....huge amounts of memorabilia....lots of Volunteers to ask questions to
Kristen Rathbun
This museum is a must see for all ages. Our children and grandchildren need to know about the great sacrifice given by our brave men and women of our armed forces and their families. Freedom isn't free.
Scott Wilkinson
Amazing history along with incredible artifacts. The personal stories documented and binders pictures and items really makes the place come alive. Absolutely a must see and experience.
Lisa Deas
Volunteers knowledgeable & friendly. Lou is just "everything" and is the force behind the scenes. Exhibits are so vivid. One can go again & again and still not grasp these incredible pieces of personal experiences. Been around the world...from a family of military officers...this is my favorite & touching museum! Go see it & it will be a part of your heart and American history!
Amberlee Carter
This place is a gem, I've wanted to go for years and finally got around to it. It didn't disappoint! So much history packed in there, I'll definitely be back! The staff was very polite and the volunteers were very knowledgeable. So glad we went !
LISA Cline
This place is amazing. The folks there were wonderful. And the knowledge from these people is truly credible. Thank you so much Warhawk Air Museum!!!!
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR VETERANS!!!
Tom Collins
The veterans here have great stories to tell. I loved the visit! They do air shows occasionally too. Very cool.
Lisa Johnston
Such a neat place with so much to look at. You could spend a really long time there if you wanted. I love how you can learn the personal stories of the people who have donated their uniforms and awards and other items for us all to learn from and enjoy.
PSI Auto
Very cool! Way more historical info and exhibits than you can possibly view in one day. The volunteers wandering around answering questions seemed to be very knowledgeable and were very enjoyable to talk to.
Thom “Magnak” Nelson
Best museum in Nampa, canyon county and maybe the entire treasure valley. Take your kids, your siblings, your parents or grandparents. You will get a great education in military aviation and other aspects of the armed services of the United States of America. They have great special events. They have an army of volunteers, many who are Vets and are willing to make your visit special.
Elizabeth Kean
A lot of military history in this museum. Tons of displays and memorabilia. We spent 2 hours here. There is so much to see. Staff is very welcoming and willing to answer any questions you might have. There is also a gift shop if you want to purchase something. This museum is a must see!
You Dawn Joseph
They have really put a lot of time in research. If you love history you will love this museum. We had a great time! We couldn't see everything so we will definitely be going back!! Worth every penny!!
Heath Be
It's not an airplane museum like what I was told, one with a bunch of planes in it. It's more like an interactive shadow box. There's many of our veterans personal\donated items, books about the time frame the museum covers, memorabilia, posters\pictures, etc. It did have some older planes in the second half, along with a car and helicopter (Vietnam era). Overall, it was a neat experience, but not at all what my husband and I expected.
Kiran Parthasarathy
Great museum. It has a wide variety of things and stuff from different time periods (WWI through Vietnam), and also has lots of models, as well as historical exhibits. It is pretty small but still has a lot of stuff in it. It's great if you have around 2 hours.
kmagmom
Very neat local museum. TONS of information but that info isn't necessarily user friendly or easily accessible. Docents were amazing and a fount of knowledge. BUT if you love all things American military (especially WWII) this is a must stop. We will be back for sure, and I will be scheduling a field trip in the next year with our homeschool group.
Marnie De Bois
Truly amazing place!! So many displays and the planes are in excellent condition! Volunteers are *extremely* knowledgeable... Uniforms, memorabilia, classic cars... So many more exhibits than we expected. Love that they work so much with the community! We will definitely be back! :)
Nicholas Dhuyvetter
Great place to take the kids! Make sure you do the scavenger hunt. There's something for everyone! Very friendly & knowledgeable staff/volunteers. We had a great time!
Darren Schulte
What a gem. Such a great little surprise just off the Interstate. Worth the trip, staff is so helpful and the museum is so very personal with so many little tid bits. Make a point to stop.
Jacob Weber
The museum is pretty cool. I have lived in nampa for 13 years and I finally went to the Warhawk Air Museum. They have tons of cool stuff to look at from war artifacts to incredible airplanes. We had a volunteer guide show us around and that was an amazing experience. He is a pilot and a veteran from the korean war so he was very interesting to talk to. My only complaint is that it was kind of expensive and they didnt have the Russian mig on display when we were there.
Northfork Network
For the price of entry I am very satisfied. I would say the memorabilia collection here is unmatched.
Cecelia Blewett
My grandkids loved this place....especially my granddaughter. She said it was the best field trip I have taken her on.
Brea Roberson
Great historical self guiding tour. My 10 year old is a history buff and is really in to WWII right now. The tour took us a little over an hour but we could have stayed longer. It was a great experience and we learned a lot.
John Kutasz
This is the most personal feeling museum I've ever visited. I'm sure every museum has supporting materials for their items on exhibit, but Warhawk has notebooks with that information available at virtually every display case. Family photos and news clippings for local servicepeople makes this a special place to visit. Come for the planes, but stay for all the supporting information. Leave yourself some extra time to appreciate what their amazing archivist has done
Scottie Duzz
This place is super cool. Happy to pay to come in a get a piece of military history
Skyler trask
An absolutely amazing museum! If you're a war history buff make a point to stop.
Jim Richards
Great museum! The planes and cars were my favorite part, but I also enjoyed the artifacts and stories collected about individuals. It gave the museum a personal feel, like I was going through my grandparents attic, or listening to a story they were telling.
Steve Langdon
Very good war museum. Lots to look at and learn. We were there for the Warhawks air show and to check out the museum. The air show was great especially if you like WW2 planes and similar. We will be back.
FYI the cost for just the museum during non air show days is inexpensive.
Lance Sganzini
It was fantastic. I was looking at some wartime photos of a gentleman and his father from a few decades ago and his retired son introduced himself to us! Fantastic.. Educated us on what was happening in all his photos.
What a Dimond of a museum. Definitely recommend it.
Brent Daley
This a great place to take your family. The history they have in this museum is amazing. It definitely makes a person be thankful for all that the military and service members have gone through so the rest of us can live our lives in freedom. I highly recommend it!
kendall bender
Beautiful stories being kept here for future generations. I hope they will appreciate the sacrifices older generations have made. Staff is incredibly friendly. History preserved is history remembered.
Judah Rich
Amazing place. Lots of interesting facts and you can let your kids run off without worrying that they will get lost! Amazing planes and other war things. Really interesting place, I highly recommend!
Emily Mashak
The personal narratives that tell the stories of their lives during WW1 to current conflicts is humbling. You just cannot take in all the memorabilia in one sitting. It is astounding! This place is a must stop for anyone that appreciates history, military history, and all of the aircrafts and vehicles of the eras.
Richard CraniumMT
Great facility amazing staff every time I had a question someone wasn’t far to answer and share a story about what I was looking at it had way more than I imagined way more then the pictures I was seeing online.
Robert Ball
Great place with large exhibits. People are friendly and clean. If u enjoy history u will enjoy this place...
Jack M
Great air museum. After driving by it many times on road trips i finally stopped. Very reasonable to get in. Friendly staff and very nice collection of war memorabilia.
Steve Prelsnik
Surprisingly comprehensive and detailed. The staff and volunteers were very cordial and helpful.
Great value. Lots of artifacts and memorabilia. Loved it!
sherry farmer
So much to see, great place for older kids and adults that love history. History buffs could spend days here.
Mary Platz
World class displays. Very patriotic, pro veteran, keeping history alive for the next generations. I love bringing my kids here and the air show in August is awesome!
James Scheidt
Being the son of a WWII infantry veteran, I can't resist visiting any kind of museum or anything honoring these brave souls.
My one brother was a Viet Nam era volunteer career marine that did not go to war and my other brother was a Gulf War veteran.
This museum has tons of information and memorabilia as well as some very nice static displays from WWII, WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam.
The volunteers are very informative and knowledgable.
Worth the visit.
Kym Anderson
Loved all the memoriabilia, the volunteers we're very informative. The have a passion for sharing their knowledge. We heard some wonderful stories behind some of the items they have. The have some aircraft, definitely are honoring the hero's with the personal items on display. Definitely would come back to see more, a lot to see in 1 visit.
Gene Chapman
A lot of information at this museum. Small, friendly, projects in progress. Recommend a visit.
The Stowaway
Had a great time. They have some incredible planes (P40N, P51-C, Fokker DR-1 Triplane) and they have a lot of really unique pieces. The binders with personal stories are not to be missed. Try and spend 3-6 hours, you won't regret it.
kehively
Numerous displays of aviation and military history from WWI thru the Korean war. Guess I expected more than the dozen or so aircraft. The displays are thoroughly documented and interesting. Spent about an hour there.
Derek Krous
This place was a great place to visit. They were very friendly. Awesome displays of everything. Thanks!!!! It’s been a few years but trust me it’s worth it.
Joshua fedoryszyn
A very nice museum with a lot to look at for a great price.
george hilbish
Fabulous place of aviation history, all of the volunteers are well versed in the displays and are ready to answer any questions posed to them. I recommend this museum to anybody wanting to learn about the planes of WWII and the Cold War.
Jessica Kerby
This was an awesome museum. They had so many notebooks filled with pictures and memories of wartime which is so important to have. The flyover done by the airplanes was amazing. My father who flew in the Vietnam war was able to tell us stories about his time in the war because there was a Huey helicopter there. I was so glad for that experience.
Alex Lehr
This was such a cool place! The was much more than just air planes. This place had tons of WWI and WWII artifacts. There were uniforms, tools, equipment, and guns. They did a nice job giving remembrance to some of the American heroes who served during the world wars. There is so much to see and I'll have go back.
george mclynne
GREAT place . Lots of artifacts and stories to go with them. They just had their air show. Had over 30 planes and vehicles. Great day
Glenn Morgan
Absolutely amazing history, wonderful volunteers and decent breakfast. Thank you for all who gave their time to make it happen, it was a lot of fun.
Phil Mercier
Great small museum. Incredible amount of memorabilia for a modest sized museum. Will visit again.
M D
Denny is the guy that showed us around the museum I think they call him a museum docent he's 82 years old he work for United Airlines as a mechanic for 49 years it was extremely knowledgeable very pleasant and polite and patience with us
Alan Kindall
We went there on a field trip and had a blast. The volunteers were kind and very good with the kids.
Lizzie Buchmiller
Had little crafts letters to veterans and everyone was super helpful. it was a great experience walking around for the kids.
Mendy McAlister
What an amazing and humbling experience. My gratitude to those who operate this museum but mostly to all those who serve and have served our great country.
Matthew Miller
Lots of history. You could spend hours here reading and looking at all the history. Supper friendly people. I spy game for the kids with a prize. Clean and we'll kept.
Mike Fox
A gem of the area!
Very clean and over-the-top informative. The curator of this museum has taken great effort for tell the stories of military donors. Absolutely amazed by these human stories!
The museum has several planes (prop and jet) and a large variety of other items.
The docents are helpful and are eager to offer additional insight.
Bryan Hood
Amazing place! We really underestimated what we thought we would see. Almost speechless. We planned to spend about an hour and 3 hours later we realized we needed to wrap it up. Would definitely go back! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our guide was on a Huey crew in Vietnam in '65.
Elizabeth Layton
A bit on the expensive side for an air museum. I love that it's a self-guided tour. Way too much history to get through in one or even five visits. I'd say if you love history and/or aviation then I'd just get a membership.
It's kid friendly. We brought our 2 year old and he loved it. They even had a kids section with coloring pages, an astronaut photo board, and Lego building exercise. Plenty of room to bring a stroller as well.
Andrea H.
Theres so much information in this museum theres volunteer veterans that can answer any questions you may have it was such awsome experience
Tony Cleveland
I liked this place. The memorabilia is largely donated so one gets the sense of seeing real people's memories which is nice. There are several eras on display that are also nice though a bit crowded with items. This is a clean, small, local, and well kept museum with mostly memorabilia. Coming here will make you happy you are an American. And if you take the time to study the displays you may get, as I did, a feeling of almost knowing the ones the displays remember.
Scott
We just attended September Swing for the 2nd time. Warhawk Museum out did themselves. Great music and dancing. A fun time had by all.
Levi Asay
This is a great collection of military aircraft which span from WWI through Vietnam. All their aircraft are in great condition and wonderful to see. We really enjoyed the many cases upon cases of artifacts and personal stories. Staff was very friendly and helpful without talking your ear off. We really enjoyed it!
pseudo
One of my favorite museums. Not just cool planes, there's a lot of memorabilia and documents from the great wars to the cold war.
M Dow
The people were great. Lots of functioning exhibits with tons of history and complete planes. Really worth spending at least four or five hours or go back two days in a row. Super interesting CD presentations with seating of Bob Hope's troop tours and second world war videos.
Josh Belville
Excellent museum, lots of planes to look at, plus sections with memorabilia from individual soldiers, like my grandpa Jack! It was really awesome to see his stuff up and he even got a little binder that you can flip through to read about his life. A great and respectful site for our armed forces legacy. Highly recommended.
J. Colt Dickman
This place has grown considerably since I was a kid, and it was out at the caldwell airport. It was great to share this place with grandpa and my sons.
We will be back
Josh Sonderegger
Fantastic place. Full of authentic and functional WW1-cold war planes, vehicles and items. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff members and volunteers who lived through these historical eras. Tons of display cases and binders full of personal accounts, letters and memories.
Kelsey M
I really enjoyed my visit. You could spend hours in here, definitely a gem!
Tom MacEgan
The Warkawk Air Museum is a must if you're ever in southern Idaho. They have 2 working P-40 Warkhawks, and also a working P-51C Mustang! Lots of vintage cars, a Huey helicopter, a couple of MiGs, and a F-86 Sabre. Lots more and volunteers who can tell you what you're looking at. Loved it. The people are great here too. Oo! Almost for got about the F-104 Starfighter!
Amythest Rain
Very professional, informative and friendly staff. Definitely going again! So much information available, it's a multiple trip kind of place.
Phaedra Bota
Amazing amount of history housed here. I especially enjoyed the role of women in the various military branches. Plenty to see on future visits.
Yvette Cooley
This is a amazing museum! It takes you back to the greatest generation! We visit every time we come to Idaho! Our Grandson loves it!👍 …
joe mack
This place is pretty cool with lots of artifacts from WW2!. I really like how many people who served in the war donated their uniforms and metals and such and told about their experiences so the next generations know what truly happened through the eyes of the people who lived! The price to enter is kinda steep hence the four stars. However, if you're a history buff or someone who wants to learn a little more about a war that changed the world it's definitely a place to visit!
Andrew Yrigollen
1st time visiting and definitely didn't disappoint. Very friendly staff and the history is at the museum is 1st class. Even the warbirds fly.
LeAnn Fechter
Awesome small town museum. Loved the loa stories from each war era.
Steve Bower
Don McCown gave us a fascinating tour. I learned a lot even though I've been there before.
Doug Ahmer
Very nicely done. Very interesting. Clean, courteous. We had a dinner meeting in there last week or two.
Alicia
A gold mine of things to see and learn! Staffed by some very nice individuals that know their stuff. Thank you, Larry, for sharing your knowledge and time with us!
jessica estrada
I loved seeing all of the earlier military uniforms and other things. It was very educational listening in on the many Veterans that where talking to various school children.
K A Shauger
Great aircraft and personal collections. Makes me even more proud to have served My Country. Have you?
Daniel Heigher
My favorite parts were the two p51's they had on display. One A and one C variant. Even better is that they can both run!
Sara Merrill
My son had an awesome day he really loves his airplanes ✈
Tag Spilman
Amazing!!! I only wish I had more time to thoroughly explore all of the exhibits while I was in Nampa.
Darrell Broughton
Great experience, a lot to see. I went on the first Tuesday of the month.special for all Veterans. Killroy event.
Sapper Mac
An incredible treasure trove of military history! While the static displays and fully functional airframes and trucks are worth a visit, the true beauty is the hundreds (perhaps thousands!) of three ring binders filled with stories, memorabilia, letters, and personal accounts of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines from every conflict since World War I!!
I could spend days in this place exploring the volumes of historical documents they have on display. I definitely plan on visiting again.
Nick Krallis
One of the better museums on the subject. The docents are great. I got a valve from a Wasp Radial Engine from the gift shop. Plan a minimum of an hour of you're wearing roller skates. Easily spend 2-3 hours if you want the full experience.
Mark Gadway
Amazing museum! The staff are extremely knowledgeable and have great insights. Well worth a visit!
Josh McCarver
I came and spent a couple hours here. Lots of information and several beautiful airplanes and a few classic cars. I really enjoyed talking with Jack which was one of their volunteers. I look forward to coming back!
Robert C
Great little museum, lots packed into the place...great friendly staff. It really was special to be there on Memorial day as well...the staff made is special and really went out of their way to talk to all of the visitors...really a great organisation I would encourage donations to this worthy cause. Thank you Warhawk we really enjoyed ourselves.
Tracy Campbell
Great little museum. Make an afternoon of it and hit the dinner at the airport.
Vivian Stanley
This place is amazing!! If you enjoy history and have some time I would recommend stopping here. Volunteers are friendly and informative. So much to see and learn. I will definately come again!
Kristin
There's something for everyone at this fantastic collection of war history. We really appreciated that it is largely story based and that museum volunteers were quick to share stories and information about the exhibits. You could spend weeks here and just get started; we spent two hours and learned so much. Very pleasant way to spend our afternoon. Thank you so much.
Chris M
This is one of the top military/history museums I’ve ever been to across the country. The displays of the airplanes, engines and even some period cars are great. But what really makes this museum one to visit is the huge number of displays, detail, information and history that go with it. Combined with the volunteers and staff that are a wealth of information, history and knowledge [could spend hours listening to them]. Make sure to plan to spend a few hours here when visiting, it’s well worth the time to see and chat with the staff. This is one place I’ll make sure to visit anytime I’m heading through Idaho from now on.
Marilyn Shuck
Very good museum! Loads of memorabilia! Wonderful selection of books of true stories of our war veterans. A very informative staff especially Mr Bauman who had great stories of his family.
Dana O'Connor
Officer Brandon Tatum spoke tonight. Was so awesome, extremely proud of my BSU student and other students and parents for welcoming this amazing and outspoken, Black, conservative speaker into their hearts... gotta love Idaho values, and kudos to Warhawk Air Museum for opening their doors to Turning Point USA!!! We need MORE OF THAT!!!
Elias Ainsworth
Lots of great history if you or your kids and to learn more i would recommend coming here
Bowfinger6383 3rd time
Great place to go learn about the sacrifices that "the greatest generation " had to place upon themselves in order to defeat real fascism and tyranny. If you go during the warbird roundup you're in for a double treat.
Michael Parker
Awesome place. Lots of personal stories from those who we owe so much. Every American should experiance this!
alan amos
Great experience and very educational. A must see for any and all.
Brad Vertrees
This is a great museum. It's small, but they have a lot of military memoribilia donated by those who served. A lot of really cool planes too. If you're in Nampa. It's worth the visit.
Bentley & Gigee Lindsley
Amazing place! Lots of historical items! Its a must see place.
Stephanie Ridley
A very thorough and thoughtful museum with an impressive collection of memorabilia and real aircraft on display. Would be even better if they had just one plane or cockpit that kids could sit in or interact with. Lots of no touching signs makes this a tough place to visit with kids.
Sarhai Butler
Loved it! So big and informative. Loved the 911 exhibit. Well maintained and having all the volunteers telling stories and pointing out different exhibits and things that tie together was great. We were there for 2 hours and didn't get to do everything and see everything. Ended up getting the annual family package. Well worth it. Now we can go back over and over again. And we will be back soon!!!
Michael Strickland
This is an awesome aviation and military history museum. The volunteers are incredible!
Brandon Cornell
This was a very fun place to go for the family. It is ADA accessable. Good price.
Richard Belka
cool place I just wish it was a little bit bigger with maybe some interactive exhibits
William Israel
Huge collection well worth taking time to see!
Alejandra Zion
LOVED. This museum is full of awesome memorabilia from WWI & II in addition to the airplanes. Our family really enjoyed visiting and it was extra special that our daughter loves planes, she was so amazed seeing them up close! My favorite was the uniforms and gear from times long past. A very cool trip down a different world from ours today 👍👍
Mike H
Excellent museum to visit, spent a few hours, covering WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam era, planes, cars, weapons, memorabilia. Binders of data, love letters. Engines, freindly informative volunteer staff to answer questions. Well worth the fee. Clean restrooms and a small gift shop. Highly recommended!
Pamela Forrest
This place has so many amazing treasures and historical items inside. I think I could spent every day for a week and still find new things! The staff and volunteers are awesome too - so knowledgeable and friendly. They made our family feel welcome throughout our visit. An excellent place for the whole family to visit.
Hayden Parrin
Great place to check out if your driving by or living near by. You could spend days there and not get through all the information. Staff was knowledgeable and easy to talk too. Very interesting being able to see the planes, cars and uniforms. Make sure to give yourself at least 2 hours to get though it. Much more information than I was expecting. Will definitely recommend stopping by.
Paula Montgomery
Wow!! This place is a must see for those interested in WWII. So many memories of the 40's, 50's, and 60's. They had a 1953 Buick that my grandfather had and I loved seeing it.
Jonny
If you are in Nampa, Idaho this is probably the one place you don't want to miss going to. Even more so if you are into aircraft. They also do airshows sometimes so check their calendar.
Jeremiah Corgatelli
Really cool museum, little bit pricey if you bring a lot of people. Other than that, great museum!
Ankit Patel
In a large hangar at Nampa Municipal Airport on the east side of the city is an excellent museum recounting the history of air combat.
The Warhawk Air Museum touches on WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the aviation technology of the Cold War.
A beautifully presented fleet of aircraft awaits you, counting a Fokker DR-1, a MiG-17, a MiG-21, a P-40E Kittyhawk, a P-51C Mustang, an F-84G Thunderjet and an F-104 Starfighter.
The showstopper may be the Curtiss P-40N Warhawk, restored to flying condition in the 1980s and appearing in the movie Pearl Harbor (2001).
Display cases brim with fascinating memorabilia, and there are binders with interesting personal accounts and preserved documents. Guided tours are available and often given by former servicemen.
CynDee Aerts
Great museum! Allow 2 hours to do it justice.
Irene Jackson
Really interesting history of military aircraft and other artifacts. Very nice tour guides that answer questions and tell the history of the items
USATAZZILLA
great place to explore and see old planes and military stuff
Tiernan D.
There's so much to look at and you could spend hours just reading through the various resources they have. I never feel like I have enough time there and I'm always excited to go back.
Dmitry Feldman
Excellent exhibition of military aviation history. The whole family enjoyed conversation with museum volunteers. They have made the history up close and personal by compiling folders of information about local heroes and their participation in world events. Volunteers, most of whom are veterans, point out interesting facts and engage visitors in learning more about aviation history. Museum has a great website with 3D tour.
Derrick L.
Great place to see our history the airplanes and old vehicles are amazing , the pictures, clothing and memorabilia are priceless. The people are friendly and informative had a great time here.
James Pierzina
Great place to explore the history of conflicts. Personal momentos, working aircraft, engine cut-a-ways. This place has it all. So much information, it is definitely a multi visit location. Well worth it.
Brian Jones
I've never been in a museum with so many knowledgeable and friendly volunteer tour guides. You can never ask enough questions or spend enough time talking with somebody. Fascinating machines and memorabilia from the 1940s. We loved it and we will go back for their show. The tower restaurant is fairly priced and has a very fun venue. My daughter can sit still in her chair because of all the airplanes taking off they put on quite a show.
Austin Hill
It's a great museum with an excellent collection of all sorts of aviation history!
Kiley Holmes
This place is seriously cool and offers so much history
Jeremy Johnson
Very fun museum that has lots of memorabilia from world war 1 up through Vietnam.
Stephanie Seymour
What an amazing experience, so much history! We attended a catered banquet here and then got to wander and explore, I only wish we had had much more time. So many fabulous displays of our nation's military history and personal experiences. We will absolutely visit again and I would totally recommend it as a venue as well, they even had some great hosts there to point out specific interests. I can't say enough good things!
Pat Thomas
One of the best military museums! My guide stuck w me and we shared emotional moments.
Very professional interpretations.
I will return to catch the other. Building.
Jamie Culp
Best museum I've ever been to! My kids had fun and learned so much! We spent 2 hours and they want to come back soon. The price was great and we loved it!!!
Ross Pennington
This is a relatively well-hidden gem. Big place, stacked with memorabilia great and small. Military buffs will be able to while away a few hours in a heartbeat.
Rebecca Pall
Very informative, I love looking through the binders of the dryer and and reading their stories. The planes and various areas depicting the uniforms and military branches, you can spend hours absorbing the wonderful displays which held so much!
Whitney Hughes
This place is awesome. Tons of interesting items, both big and small. Helpful and knowledgeable volunteers. Would highly recommend!
Berto Tarin
Need to go back because there is so much to enjoy and see!!!
Delonna Brewen
Very impressed with the amount of personal memoirs of the men and women who served our country. The volunteers knowledge and passion to share with us was amazing! Thank you for the excellent display of our great nation's history!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 …
Andrew Rickard
Great museum with a good variety of things to look at. Will definitely make a return visit next time I am in the area.
Annette Cederberg
So much information! We could have spent a full day and more to take it all in!
Travis Garrison (surdk3)
Awesome place! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Be careful, it's easy to spends hours here going through everything. Very well done exhibits. Stuff for everyone to see and do. Will definitely be back when they get their expansion!!
Jed Anderson
An engaging experience with the history of the armed services! You can spend a long time here. I had a great time!
Lanita A
There were lots of volunteers.
Scott Byers
Went for the airshow of the vintage plane fly over. Got some great pictures and video. Will post later.
The museum is packed full of memorabilia and great stories annoy those who served in the world wars and other conflicts. Well go again next time I am in town for a longer visit.
Phil Grenier
Almost too much to see. History fans will be in their glory. Plan on getting there early, and take your time to see everything. Make sure to spend lots in the gift shop, because it supports the museum.
Donald Peck
Fantastic collection of military history with knowledgeable staff.
S Th
What a fabulous museum!!! The families who contributed to it are incredible and I wish I could thank them all. I wish we had more time to spend to learn about each Veteran and about all the museum offered. This is well worth visiting and coming back to if you have the opportunity. Thank you all for a wonderful presentation.
Frances LaMarche
Great little Museum, very well done. Worth a stop to see it, would allow at least 2 hours
Alicia Kuester
This place was amazing!!! So full of stories!!
Randall Reese
Great collection of American history. The staff is awesome and the planes are amazing.
Jody Stringer
Amazing place to go. Make sure you give yourself the whole day. There is so much to see and read. We are going again soon because we didn't realize how much history there was enjoy. Our guide through was Larry and he was unbelievable with all the information he had. Thank you so much Larry.
The Emerald King (The Emerald King)
Amazing trip and the Tour Guide was really nice!
Charles
Very impressive museum. Although there are not a large number of aircraft, there is a great amount of personal history collected here. Personal accounts of veterans experiences collected from those veterans, plus their memorabilia on display, with written readable accounts. Unlike some museums where you can only look and read only a short account, here you may delve into reading in length.
Wonderful visit.
Rob Sweet
What a great museum full of an amazing amount of history. But, as an historian and long time ordnance and milltaria collector I did take issue with some of the items on display being incorrectly identified or period-incorrect items in some of the displays. Nit-picking for sure and 95% of visitors wouldn't notice but simple things that could be easily corrected. All in all everyone in our party, men and women, active duty military and veterans across three generations got a lot out of our visit.
Tania Avey Duffin
A wide variety of artifacts and well organized. I appreciated the scavenger hunt for kids--kept them busy so I could read more. Some great treasures.
Its Jan 2020 so I was disappointed that several visitors (at least 8) were not wearing masks and some of the volunteers were not wearing masks over their noses. But at least its a large museum and spread out so we could scoot over to something else when these visitors approached.
Stacia Hanaway
Love this place!! Everyone should go there!! Plan on the day so you can look at everything
Bill Black
This is a whole day type of museum! Very in depth displays and helpful and infoemative volunteers who love to talk about the exhibits. Be ready to learn something!
Molly Wentworth
This was our first visit to museum. All the volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable. Mr. Baughman was the volunteer that showed us through the museum. He answered all our questions and was a pleasure to talk with. We could wander through for days and not see all the displays. Thank you to all who served and donated.
Lane Daigle
A must see! The volunteers there are a wealth of knowledge!
James Cleverdon
The Warhawk Air Museum continues to touch me. Their exhibits detail the war time exploits of local people. All of them are tales of sacrifice and some evoke sorrow. They also have a number of aircraft from different wars on display that are well worth seeing. It is a great place to spend an afternoon, but I could easily take days reading everyone's stories.
I went to their recent Warbirds Air Show, for which they had flown in even more working vintage airplanes. It was great. Likewise, Bud Anderson's presentation was inspiring. I recommend it. 👍
Clyde Hudson
If you are a history buff this is a must go. If you aren't into history but like the stories of real people, definitely come see this place. There are countless folders placed all over the museum that you can read that show the real life stories of people who not only lived it they helped shape history. There are not only planes on static display but displays with memorabilia and the history of the person that actually wore the uniform. It put a human name and face to actual events. There was one display that really brought it home. It was a display of a letter from the War Department that was telling a family that there son was killed in action. It really made you think of what would your reactions be if you received a letter like that. I have two sons in the military and it really hit home what could of happened.
Kaitlyn Malone
Fantastic old air museum with lots of passionate people working as the staff. Really well organized and feels very personal. If you need anything the staff is more than happy to help and share stories. Definitely go see.
LJ
Excellent museum. The planes and artifacts are amazing and we'll displayed. Lots of friendly, enthusiastic people full of knowledge and stories. Take some time to appreciate your freedom.
zukifan na
Widely treasure trove of historical artifacts...and the Warbird collection is amazing!
Christopher Lutzow
This is an amazing museum. Very high quality and informative displays from WW1 through Desert Storm. If you're interested in the material, you'll spend hours here. Please be warned, there are very few interactive displays. They have a scavenger hunt for kids, but some (like mine, who has an interest) wanted to sit in the cockpits of several vehicles. So, just keep in mind it's a look and don't touch museum. However, it is excellent quality and interesting.
Jesse Eyler
What a great afternoon this place is amazing. Highly recommend the collection rivals large museums
Janet Smith
Nice clean museum that is community and special needs friendly. The museum opened their doors after hours for our CAF event. Thank you so much!
Michael Patience
This is a great little museum. My favorite part was having a veteran volunteer of the museum come up to me and start explaining the exhibits in further detail, and add personal experiences. Never had anything like that at the Smithsonian. This is what's so great about the smaller museums - the personal touch. Local service men and women are well represented. Well done.
Pam Linn
It was very interesting. My Dad was in WWll and at the Battle of the Bulge.
Ezzy J
I love this place! Brought my grandparents there on the last day they were visiting and they loved it. One of the volunteers showed us around and made it super enjoyable! I can't wait to go back.
Clint Colson
Seems like a lot of money to get in at first but the amount of reference and information within this place is amazing. Approx 9 aircraft, mostly in working condition catch your eye first but it's the books, cars and displays that absolutely pack this place that make it amazing. You could spend weeks in there and never see or read it all.
Bradlee Sidener
It was awesome, tons of planes to look at, lots of cool history to learn about
Joe De La Cerda
Fantastic miltary air museum. Great place to learn, explore history and remember the sacrifices others made to give us our liberty.
Pamela Hayn
This museum is a must-see in the state of Idaho. Thousands of cases of memorabilia, beautiful vintage airplanes, automobiles and so much more. It’s like stepping back in time. They’ve done an excellent job of preserving our country’s history for past, present and future generations to come.
Chris Phippen
Amazing historical record of our men and women who served our great country. I was very impressed with the volunteers and their willingness to not only share their time...but also the little details about various displays the museum offers. On a very lucky note, I met a mechanic there who asked me if I’d like to see a P51 A Mustang. Of course I wanted to see it....he spent some time explaining the aircraft and was great to interact with.
Thank you very much Warhawk museum staff! You do amazing work!
r powell
They are amazing! They really go the extra mile to put on events and to honor veterans. A few bucks to preserve our history is not too much to ask. I've been serving the army 27 years, and I've been to many many museums. This one really impresses!
Shannon White
All of the volunteers are so helpful and knowledgeable. I thoroughly enjoyed reading through old love letters and there is so much to look at!
John-Patrick Murray
Fantastic. Spendid. Wonderful. I've been going to museums like this all my life and this one easily enters top three. There is so much to look at and so much history in the building.. Especially fascinated by the US Homefront exhibits. So much to learn! And on top of it all, the volunteers are knowledgeable and very friendly.
Paige Nielebeck
We came here for a special event and it was awesome! They had food and we got to watch some of the planes fly in formation. Super cool experience! I had not been to the Warhawk Museum in a very long time and I was blown away. Everyone who volunteered or worked there was super nice and very knowledgeable. The amount of information and artifacts there is amazing! There is so much to look at and learn. Definitely will be back!
Anna Vaughan
Amazing collection of most US wars and conflicts from the Spanish American War all the way to Operation Enduring Freedom. Easily one of the best military museums outside of the D.C. area. It is a self guided tour with knowledgeable volunteers offering more stories and information. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to really get a good look around. If you are a history buff or Veteran and are in the area be sure to check this incredible place out.
Mary Kay Von Brendel
Wish we had allowed ourselves more time for our visit!! Great display, I greatly enjoyed how you incorporated members of the community into the museum. This gave the artifacts a more personal touch. I highly recommend!!
Ganjjabar's Medium
Fantastic museum. So much well preserved history , so many books filled with soldiers stories, and very knowledgeable volunteers offering lots of interesting information. All the memorabilia and planes are I'm such good condition as well. Look forward to coming back!
Daniel Geaslen (IndoBushPilot)
This museum is a gem. There's so many personal memories available to view and enjoy in the form photos and printed stories. It brings the sometimes impersonal history of books and displays home in a very meaningful way. I can't wait to go back.
Sandy Pilon
Great museum with lots of airplanes from WWII and later as well as vehicles, and anything else you would think of that relates to the military. Awesome individual showcases of individual veterans with their uniforms, medals, photos, and all manner of other memorabilia. Too much to see in just one visit. Don't miss it if you are in the area!
Christina Danner
The Warhawk Air Museum is a treasure. They have so much information and memorabilia. The volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable.
Hans Vicka
This is the best museum I've EVER been to! There is so much here. You could be here for weeks on end! You definitely need at least a full day to check everything out. PLUS, SUPER awesome staff!! And cute giftshop.
Sara Evans
Amazing learning experience. Make sure you give yourself enough time to read and look at all the great information. We only had a hour and could not see/look/read all the history from past wars.
A definite must for anyone.
Andrew Esselbach
There is a lot of fascinating, personal history in this museum. The staff I chatted with in the museum were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were eager to answer my questions and show me things of interest that I missed.
Rachele Rissler
I always find something new when I visit this place. So much history is packed into this museum! I go to the airshow every year and will start going to the veteran's breakfast as well. The staff is incredibly nice, everything is displayed wonderfully, and even the gift shop has something for everyone.
John Imsdahl
Fantastic volunteers who are very knowledgeable. Great exhibits of all our wars. Period music for each section. Airplanes, engines and Charlie model Huey. I was in WOC Class 69-17 at same time as several locals were there.
James Dunkin
It's awesome to see such an amazing chunk of history preserved! Stuff was very knowledgeable amd friendly.
Doug Hansen
Took the family and spent over two hours here. In those two hours I only saw about a 1/4 of it because there are so many artifacts and displays that it's impossible to take it all in with only a few hours. Admission prices aren't ridiculous, especially since you could spend an entire day there and still not see everything. There's a ton of hands on stuff and activities for kids to keep them entertained (for a time anyways). Will definitely be returning, probably numerous times, since it will take that many to see it all.
Aaron Rollins
Such a great place. Especially with kids
Misty Barfuss
Love visiting the warhawk Air museum. It's ridgvue high schools mascot which makes it even more special to visit. Wonderful piece of history and time.
Tony Yanez
Friendly people, lots of interesting things I recommend it.
Rebecca Lupkes
Fantastic display! This year's Warhawk Round- up was wonderful! So well organized and the volunteers were amazing! Perfect day to see all the wonderful restored planes of the past in the air once again! My husband and I will go back many times.
Holly Sinclair
Awesome! A well designed and thoughtfully presented museum with a very personal touch. Love the stories of real folk who served in wars from WWI through Viet Nam but his place especially highlights the 2 world wars.
Allen Lee Maddox
This museum is very good. The contributions from people from all over the country are expertly displayed with items from the same areas of interest. Marine Corps, Navy, Army and Air Force are set up in their own spaces. Wartime magazines, official documents and various letters are displayed. German, Japanese, Italian and Russian mementos are also on display. The airplanes, cars and motorcycles are cool to see. This is an American Heritage museum. I completely enjoyed myself.
Tanith Brown
This is an interesting museum in that it focuses on individuals as it is curated from donations by veterans and their families. Memorabilia from several wars is included and each display case has a sticker which connects it to a small description in the self-guided tour pamphlet. However, the majority of the information is stored in binders, often photocopied from letters or typed on old word processors. Much of the information is hard to access unless you want to read through hours and hours worth of notes. There is not enough time or anywhere comfortable to sit and read, which means you either spend hours reading while standing on concrete and barely scratching the surface or you miss out on a lot of information simply because there's so much to go through. It was so cool to see the different airplanes and vehicles from several decades worth of wars, but the sheer amount of paperwork and the lack of larger perspective made it less accessible than other museums. If you already have an understanding of the broader strokes of each war, this is a great place to get the individual's perspective. If you visit, make sure to take advantage of the volunteers, many of whom are veterans themselves or have personal connections to these stories.
Dana Walsh
Awesome collection of artifacts. I loved that they had pictures and family stories that went with the collections. We spent a couple hours until the place closed, and I barely was able to scratch the surface on seeing the exhibits. I could easily spend several days here.
MIKE Hook
It's so nice to see all the stuff they have to do with History.
Jeanne Sebree
Excellent Museum. Went to a vintage air show today. Outstanding.
Adam Tardiff
I really enjoyed seeing the aircraft on display. My only concern is that there's so much donations of past people in the military that I feel like you really need a curator to come in and organize everything and get rid of the duplicates. There are so many stories that need to be told but they're all in binders which could take a lifetime to read. I feel like there should be more information about the aircraft in the room and the stories behind them. To say the least I feel that the museum has a good premise it just needs to be pared down a bit and have sections more focused. It was a bit overwhelming for me.
Kurtz 28
Amazing amount of history under one roof! Well worth the visit if interested in aviation, space and military history. Unique feature is the vast collection of personal history of veterans displayed with their unique perspective of the individual. A crisp salute and a massive thanks for the level of care taken in preserving this important history.
sandy clark
You can tell how much care is put into each display. I felt like they truly honored our veterans.
Lynnette Hunting
It is an awesome museum.
Steve Reinhart
Definitely worth the price of admission. You could spend several days wandering through the exhibits and still not get to see everything.
They go above and beyond to document each article donated or acquired. Each piece has a story. They tell you all about it and the person it belonged to. The level of detail is amazing.
Terri Spinazza
The collections have grown a lot since the last time we visited. A good variety of displays showing the military service of women and men. We will need to go back again to take in all there is to see.
Rual Sanches
Very helpful people that know a lot about the subject and a very interesting museum with a lot of cool stuff I would recommend to anyone.
ramzy boutros
This museum is unusual in that it has a lot of material on daily life during World War 2. This glimpse into the past reveals fascinating details of what people dealt with at that time. If your son is a POW, what can you send or not? How do you communicate with him? The museum also has an outstanding collection of period aircraft engines allowing me to appreciate the genius and skill of making precision machines like that without the benefit of computer aided design or modern precision manufacturing.
Monica Brewster
Cool place! Lots of history, nice folks, and awesome airplanes, too. We had a great time!
Bob C
Surprisingly well put together combination of aircraft, a few automobiles, and other antiques and pieces of history. With a variety of old articles and other fun things to see and read.
At $12 for an adult, not something I would do every week, but worth an occasional visit.
Carson C
They've done a good job of collecting all kinds of memorabilia so enjoy the planes but take your time because there's a ton to take in.
beth himelhoch
Great air show August 24. 2019. The number and types of planes was excellent. The volunteers who worked the show were amazing, especially Ted F. Because of his knowledge and enthusiasm for this museum we'll be heading back to Boise soon to spend a few days going through the entire museum. This us a MUST SEE.
Mike Grim
Absolutely amazing! I need weeks here to read and see everything. An absolute gem in Nampa.
Craig Skaggs
If you love, or even have an inkling of interest in WWII aircraft, than this is a can't miss place. In fact, you definitely NEED to be here. What an incredible museum and the things you can learn from the folks who are there to help and inform. If you have kids, this is an education they will never forget.
Nathaniel H
Great place to see history. Only suggestion is to allow customers the option of doing a quick Cessna flight that DOESN'T cost $400 for 30 minutes. But the museum itself is definitely worth going. Supporting our veterans and getting a glimpse of history, can't go wrong.
Gary Ainsworth
Excellent museum! Far more exhibits than we had expected, and they have done an admirable job of capturing our military history over the years. Well worth going to!
Jerry Goff
Excellent self-guided tour. An superior experience far above your typical war documentary on TV. Packed with machinery, memorabilia and personal stories of hundreds of soldiers. A lot more than a few warplanes, the Warhawk Air Museum offers a look at the personal sacrifices made to maintain America's freedom for generations.
Roy Mink
Seeing all the youth involvement with helping with the traffic, parking, and crowd management was heartening. The aircraft, and those dedicated to the history and furthering knowledge of those eras are the stars. Great program, and if the effort is done without tax dollar support, that should be mentioned.
Casey Kennington
Kids loved it. Nice gift shop too.
Misty
Wow what a neat place to visit and what a great story. I had the privilege of meeting John Foley of the Blue Angels, but because he was there for a conference I didnt post a photo, he doesn't just hang out there hahaaa, but anyway I definitely recommend taking the drive out to Nanpa to see the memorabilia that they have here at the Warhawk Museum.
Nice little gift shop too...
Stevie Hart
We enjoy eating at Tower Grill nearby and heading to the Warhawk Museum. It's full of so much to look at. Our little kids even love it. Most days it's pretty calm. For special events it gets busy but they handle the crowds very well and have extra help.
Jessica Howington
The volunteers here are so amazing 👏 the amount of original items is mind blowing and the value of all the service of the people involved is phenomenal. how grateful we are for the ability to be where we are today because of these brave kind people. Thank you …
Michael S
So much history and artifacts to see and friendly knowledgeable volunteers! Spent 4 hours, could of spent many many more!
Daniel Howell
Wonderful museum with plenty to see and learn about.
Susan Sievers
Wonderful history of Veterans from WWI. ,WWII and Vietnam plus more . It is a very impressive museum. So worth seeing.
Sherry Avalon
Very interesting. The volunteers were very knowledgeable & informative. A must see when in the Nampa area.
Darlene Hoogendoorn
Took some kids there from where I work. Both times the staff was great showing us around. I think as an adult I could appreciate it a lot more, but the kids enjoyed it too. Really had a lot of great displays and information.
Phil
Staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. So much history here. Will need the whole day or several trips to absorb it all. Support the expansion!!!!
Kalena
A wonderful place to take the entire family! There is so much memorabilia from the past. You could spend hours there reading and learning about our great American heroes.
Larry Lince
Not only does the museum provide great historic detail, but also personal history and follow up about the individuals who served in the military. No other military museum I have visited provided so much great detail and documentation. You should allow more time for your visit than you might think.
Thomas Miller
Took my grandson from out of town. We spent several hours learning a valuable lesson from the displays and guides. Thank you for all who have and are serving. My grandson is entering the Air Force next month as a "Rainbow"😁 …
Annette Hudson
This place was awesome. History that you could browse through (albums) and tons of things to see...planes, cars, uniforms, flags and so much more. I'm coming back.
Chris Silva
A must see Museum! Loved it.
Kevin Troutt
One of the finest collections of WW2 era artifacts you can find anywhere. Beautiful original airplanes that still fly several times a year. I learned so many fascinating and interesting facts and stories! Highly recommended!
Dean Burris
It would be easy to spend many hours in the museum. There is an amazing amount of artifacts and materials there. The museum is a must-see for anyone interested in military aviation and in wars involving the United States from the Spanish American War through Vietnam.
Michelle Ferreira
All the standard stuff you would expect to see PLUS amazing stuff you don't normally see at museums. Lots of personal history binders donated by combat veterans/families. Definitely worth checking out, highly recommend.
Dont Care
If you are in the area and love anything to do with military especial world war 2 this is a must. The place was amazing so much stuff to see amd read. There os no way to experience it all in one day. They sometimes have guest speaker and presentations. I highly recommend.
Bill Esser
Staff is very friendly and helpful. The kids had a great time finding the artifacts in their puzzle. Great museum for WW2 and Vietnam artifacts. Have a space shuttle corner too.
the freestylers
Excellent history and beautiful War memorabilia. Volunteers are helpful and full of stories. Great for all ages.
Joe bup
Great place with great people working there.
Bob Brannon
Not a lot of actual aircraft air but they have tons of really interesting memorabilia from the timelines of aircraft. they have a lot of interesting information covering the aircraft and covering certain timelines from world war II Korea and Vietnam. Definitely worth a trip if you haven't been there a great place to take young children so that they can see history for themselves and have an appreciation of what prior groups have done in the past. How a lot of it was done at the CD your pants or was done knowing that they did not have the best equipment to fight the battles but still went up and performed the duties as best they could with what they had.
D B
They have a nice layout. It was easy to get lost in the feeling of being surrounded by important parts of our country's history. Very friendly employees and volunteers.
John Mathiasen
Liked the displays which reveal parts of the war I was not aware off. Many items viewed I had not seen before at other period museums dealing with WW2. A nice display of Vietnam era items also.
V Dub
Really nice! Lots of artifacts.
Vanessa Johnson
Amazing experience for our family! Incredible collection. Everyone is friendly.
Josie-Lynne Yoder
The history in this museum is astounding. You could spend a day here and still not see everything. A great place for kids as they have a scavenger hunt. Everyone could learn a little something (or a lot) from this museum.
Rob Smith
This is an excellent military museum. Very well laid out and informative. Would highly recommend. Make sure you go when you have 3 or 4 hours to spend.
John Galban
This is not your typical airplane museum. The vast collection of personal memorabilia is probably the best feature. I'm a plane nut, but I probably spent 80% of my time there looking at the endless displays of veterans personal personal items and support equipment. You'll really get feel for what it was like for the people that actually lived through those conflicts.
Jason Vaughn
Lots of fun. Especially if you have relatives that served in the military. Thoughtfully displayed in sections like WWI, WWII, Vietnam, etc. Also a generous amount of items to view from Idaho Natives who served throughout the years.
Steve Talbot
Very helpful staff. The museum was very clean, well organized and had some very interesting stuff including some hands on histories.
Paul Gagnon
We spent many hours just reading all the history. Truly incredible detailsto be found everywhere you look. I only wish there were a few more aircraft, as it looked like there were two aircraft displays that were missing. Really enjoyed the table of diaries to read.
Byron Shock
This museum is interesting! You could spend a lot of time here: Apart from the World War II planes that are the stars of the show, the huge double hangar is packed with display cases that tell the stories of airmen and women. The second hangar covers the cold war and has some neat jet-powered curiosities.
Joshua Hill
It's good for nampa idaho air show 2022
Amber Harris
We had a wonderful time! There was so much to see, it was well organised, my kids loved the hands on stuff, my husband liked all of the planes and war time pieces, and I enjoyed all of the home life period pieces.
Darnell Sitton
The War Hawk Museum, is a privately funded privately organized tribute to those who served in as far back as the 1898 Spanish-American war..It gets its name from the 3 Curtis P-40s that started the collection. There are files on the lives and the deeds of all the Veteran Idahoians who told their stories. Donations of everything from weapons, uniforms, Metals, and Automobiles as well as aircraft Are preserved there. They have a workshop where they're working on aircraft for both static display and operational preservation.. The story of the museum is quite remarkable and is very family and veteran friendly With docents ready to take groups on tours... ENJOY !
Broken Vet
This is a wonderful place that you need to bring your children and grandchildren! Teach them about important moments in history, and let them get up close and personal with full scale vintage aircraft. An absolute "must stop!" on anyone's itinerary.

Amazing place if you want to see some functional aircraft and memorabilia. Not to mention the extremely friendly staff that are willing to answer any question. 5/5
Kenneth McAllister
This is an amazing museum, rich history, aircraft are kept in flight condition and are flown. As a veteran this is one of my favorite places, another chance to reflect on our past, the sacrifices of our freedom and the amazement of what we do.
fast2drv
This is an awesome place. Not only warbirds, but cases of memorabilia! You won't regret stopping! Wonderful volunteers!

Met with several hundred vets for coffee. Listened to informative speakers. Great gathering of WW2, Korean, Viet Nam and Middle East Vets. The venue is very historic and patriotism runs deep.
michael De frates
A great experience educated staff hundreds of binders full of stories from the soldiers and hero's from our past. Displaying male and female hero's from all branches with honor.
Danielle Retano
You could spend days here and still not see everything. There are pictures, handwritten letters that were sent home during WWII, and individual stories of men and women who served. Great stop on our vacation.
Kristin Mesker
What an amazing place! Honoring our veterans who have fought for our freedom, they have done an amazing job! The staff are informative, helpful, friendly. You won't be disappointed!

A wheelchair friendly environment. This is a wonderful place to take your veteran family or friend. It brought back a lot of memories being a military brat and rsised on AF bases for 15 years. They have numerous planes and equipment from most of the wars.

Xtreme Battle BLAST
It was lots of fun. It's actually really cool and I was surprised on how much stuff was inside. You should definitely try it! Also the staff were super nice!
Steve Buss
If you are coming strictly for airplanes, you may be disappointed. The P-40 and P-51 are awesome. However, the museum has assembled a fascinating collection of personal stories from famous aviators, but also from local veterans. Thier stories come to life though the memoribelia and their written narratives. Very enjoyable visit. Docents also very helpful.
Jim Johnston
This is a cool museum. Put together so well. They have events all the time. They do a lot for local and visiting veterans.
Great place to visit. Recommend!
Sonny Knotts
You have to take two or three days at a minimum to even begin to appreciate the level of detail these folks put into their displays. Something for everyone. WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf War are all represented. Friendly volunteers are always available to answer questions.
Susan Bittick
The Roundup was amazing - you need to plan on attending next year, especially if you have never been. The heritage formation fly-overs gave me goosebumps!

DEW izDEW
Amazing! I needed more time. So so much to see and read. Lots to learn. You're on your own as You walk through but everything has a placard 3xplaining what, when, where, why n how things were used. There is a small fee but we'll worth the fee and the time.
Josh Schafer
Fun place to visit for the WW2 buffs out there. The place is made up of two hangers with the first being mostly WW2 and a bit of WW1. The second is a mix Vietnam and WW2. Staff were super nice and helpful.
Ron Butler
The amount of personal artifacts and information is amazing. A great place to learn the human side of history. Thanks veterans!
Eddie Rains
Not real large but some interesting displays with some unique items. One thing I found fascinating was a display with some bricks and mortar from Hitlers Beirgarten and Goerings home when they were destroyed . Had few other items from the Beirgarten as well. Covers WWI through Vietnam. One display case also had items from couple conflicts in the late 1800s.
Ollie Landrum
This is a treasure! Nils, a volunteer, was absolutely AMAZING. He is extremely knowledgeable and told us so many stories and showed us things we would not have noticed otherwise!!! So much FUN!!!
Kristi Martin
Wonderful place to visit--so much to see. The volunteers have wonderful knowledge to share. They have a few air shows a year that should not be missed. Up close and personal on the aircraft during the shows.

Was totally awestruck by the amount of materials located here. As an avid WWII history fanatic, this place consumed a better part of six hours. Could have spent more time an would certainly go back. They are currently restoring a Mig 21.
$12.00 entry fee.
Nicki B
This museum had so much more than I was expecting! They even have a scavenger hunt for kids to keep them busy. Well worth the price of admission.
Bradley Lewis (Brad)
A true flying mueseum, these aircraft are well displayed and well taken care of. It appears they are restoring a troop glider. First time seeing one in person for most of the aircraft. Another memorable mention is the half tracked anti aircraft!

Not Just Another “DON’T TOUCH” Air Museum.
In Idaho’s third most populated city resides an impressive time capsule of Americana. Whereas, most Air Museums have a large amount of Aircraft displayed, Nampa Idaho’s “Warhawk Air Museum” (WAM), make’s do with a smaller number of Aircraft. Yet, the curators produced an interesting and informative historical representation. A first for me, is seeing cars displayed equally with the Aircraft. Mostly WWII is represented. However, The Korean War and our space exploration accomplishments are pictured as well. It’s interesting to see what the people were reading, the news of the time, and the propaganda that fed into the eras seen here. WAM, displays all without any politically correct filtering in a time where other institutions and organizations are editing materials for our growing “safe-spacer” population. To me, WAM is unapologetically brave and respectful to our heritage. The museum offers memberships to include a WWII plane ride. The staff are very courteous and available for Q&A. This is a plus to me but not a deal breaker at some places where they’re busy with other tasks. And of course, “please don’t touch” is the rule as it is with any museum. Natural finger oils usually can’t do too much damage individually. However, collectively, finger print oils can devastate any display and gradually erode any material. The displays are arranged and roped off in such a way that close-ups are easy to get. “Idea:” using a selfie stick to get the camera closer to the display? I’ll have to ask next time. In other words, for a museum, the atmosphere is cozier and less standoffish. WAM’s mission is to educate, not just show. If a patron is tired, a seating and viewing area are provided with reading material as well. Lastly, as a aviation nerd, I did my research and found their P40 was used in the 2001 film: “Pearl Harbor.” Personally, I think the plane was the best actor.
P.S. The P40 was also in "Valkyrie" (2008) with British markings,

It's bigger than it looks, you definitely could spend a half day, just looking at everything. My family really enjoyed it. (Even the 15year old!)
