Reviews of Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial
If you go here do not reply on GPS it acts up and does not take you to the right place. The parking lot is located inside the Boise Library parking lot and right across from this park the Jules Davis park. Now onto the Anne Frank Park, it is beautiful. If you walk on the bridge underneath is Boise River and goes out to other side of street. On the other park pathway leads you to go into water of Boise River. We saw people on rafts, inner tubes, and going directly into water. The cabin next to Anne Frank Park for writers forget all details but can find online more information. Some photo highlights of the park.
*Note , we went July 25th, it gets hot during day and not much shade but people mainly were biking and in River at our time of visit.
When I lived out there for 2 years, this was my safe place. At night they have all monuments lit up and you can still read and get immersed in the History. It has to have running water flowing around the made mini river. It was a place of Peace and tranquility in a historic time in History where life was chaotic. Reading these stories humbles, and reminds me how blessed I truly am. April 2020 I was able to show my daughter Anne Frank Memorial. We walked and read what people wrote about during this dark part of History. It was another humbling experience for the both of us. It was beautiful!
Beautiful and tasteful memorial for Anne Frank. Lovely water features and stone work with inspirational quotes throughout the exhibit.
It's a great way to escape the summer heat, and truly just relax from the whole homeless enviornment ! Spending time in nature has become a pastime for me.
This memorial is hands down one of the most impactful memorials I’ve been to. If you have the chance to have a docent like Bob explain the significance behind each element of the memorial consider yourself lucky. Don’t miss this opportunity to honor the past and change the present. .
Take some time to linger in this beautiful little memorial. The quotes and profound. Serene setting then walk across the river bridge after dinner! A must for any visit to Boise!
This is such a wonderfully designed and peaceful place! We are lucky to have it and you should definitely take an hour or so with your love ones and visit. Walk around, read the quotes, and listen to what the words tell you.
Fabulous quotes inscribed on all the walls in a tranquil environment. It’s a great quiet place for contemplation and I really appreciated reading all of the deep thought provoking quotes with the whisper white noise of the waterfall and the statue dedicated to Anne Frank. There’s fabulous architecture here as well, with some donated sculptures and many plaques donated by lots of benefactors
Having recently moved to the Boise area, I wanted to visit a local attraction on my birthday. After searching out a few places, I decided upon the Anne Frank Memorial. It is a beautiful spot to read the many quotations and contemplate their meaning. I really like the waterfalls and streams -- they add so much to the experience.
We found free street parking with shade nearby which was nice.
The only suggestion that I have is that some of the stones with carvings should be cleaned of the leaves and spider webs.
What a great cultural piece for the city of Boise. Informative, educational, and so pivotal in today's chaotic world. A beautiful serene masterpiece of sights sounds and voices.
A memorial that anyone should see at least once. With current events at time of writing this I needed a reminder of humanity and compassion. It's placed in a beautiful setting next to the Greenbelt and Library with informative details of human history and a testament to our natural born rights.
Words to live by. The Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial is worth visiting for inspiration. The messages give hope and warning to us, so that we can make the best decisions in the future. We must learn from the past.
There is much to see and read here. Spend some time by the waterfalls and relax. There is a road nearby, so you may not have the peace you're looking for here.
Very moving and informative area. The grounds are clean and pristine. The bike trail nearby was heavily used. It was great seeing all the rafters in the river
Visit this beautiful memorial; its message of love, inclusion, peace, and equality is so important. I am drawn here regularly to remind myself that "in spite of everything, people are truly good at heart."
A great spot right on the walkway with beautiful flowers a couple of small waterfalls and plenty of informational plaques. There is some street parking for 2 hours plus the Boise library is right there
A must see in Boise. Very informative and touching!
First time here! It was great. I loved the pasta bar! You choose the pasta you want they pit it in boiling water to finish cooking it and then you choose your own sauce or sauces. Mmmm! I highly recommend this place.
Beautiful and contemplative, thought provoking and informative. A great place to discuss some hard parts of history with our daughter.
A great tribute to Anne Frank with some really great quotes etched in the walls. Really beautiful and definitely worth checking out.
If you are in the Boise area, this is a must see. Plan on spending some time, there is a lot to see and experience. This is an outdoor experience so plan accordingly
Great park. This park has a zoo and a museum in downtown Boise. Located next to the rivee, it has direct access to the greenbelt
A great place to remind ones self of the struggles previous generations have endured. Take your time to read the walls. It will give you hope and inspiration for the times we are experiencing.
It was a great experience to visit. It opened your mind to such a wide range of misjustice, not only treatment of Jews but also from Rawanda to Sarajevo to Native American to slavery.
Very well done and interesting memorial. Well worth the visit. If you can, take a tour with a docent to get all the extra info.
Very moving and teaches people about REAL social injustice (not the made up stuff we are seeing today to promote political agendas).
This place was amazing. Everyone should visit!
Well it’s alright with good history but nothing special for a visit.
A quiet respect falls on this area near the Boise river in the heart of downtown. A wonderful place to go to contemplate what role you play in society and how you can become a greater influence for good.
It was an incredible, spiritual, very humbling experience! I can't wait to go back to see more quotes I didn't get to see. It was a beautiful Memorial for days you need reminding that we are a blessed country.
This is always a good place to pause along the Green Belt and reflect upon the importance of our fundamental right and obligation to be caring people.
This trip was so insightful. I was amazed by the quotes written on the walls by so many different people in reference to this horrific time in history. It literally tortures me to see the things humans have done to one another. Bottom line we are all people! Not one better than another. Some may make better choices, but we are all human beings. I think anyone interested in that time and events should visit. Honestly I think everyone should.
Best and only human rights memorial in the US. Loved how it incorporates more than one person-lots of people had an impact anf mad it an amazing place to visit! Love the audio "tours" as well- lots if great information.
Loved the community did this. Knew about Holocaust but not about others. Humanity can't keep letting this happen.
Everyone visiting or living in the area needs to see this place. Humbled.
We were very impressed with the entire park. My brother in law did the Anne Frank sculpture. Greg Stone. My husband and I made a special trip here from Massachusetts to see it in it's setting. I know he would be pleased with all that's been done at that site.
A must visit!! Make sure you read all the quotes... it will humble your heart, ... become a life lesson...👍👍 …
Touching and beautifully done memorial..I'm impressed.
Eye opening and inspiring. The subject matter of many of the exhibits is disturbing. There is a good chance of tears so you may want to bring dark sunglasses.
This is a very sobering tribute to the need of continued kindness to other human beings and to the need to always be vigilant against the atrocities that man can commit against fellow man.
If you have the time I would recommend this as a place to visit and reflect.
Absolutely beautiful! Very tranquil spot in downtown Boise.
What an important place. The message here of God's grace and a path thru the storm is so powerful. People must stop here and take a moment to think.
We actually stumbled across this memorial after a visit to the library. I was surprised that a visit here wasn't mentioned on any to do lists for Boise. A good place to contemplate humanities shortcomings.
Peaceful place with inspiring quotes.
It was beautiful. It was sad, hopeful, and calm all at the same time. If you are in the area you should definitely stop by.
Should be required place to visit. Great reminders of how we ought to treat each other.
VERY EDUCATIONAL! A MUST DO for all visitors to BOISE and STUDENTS at BSU!!!
Great experience and loved the history
Beautifully done. THANK YOU IDAHO for making this powerful exhibit a free experience.
This place is wonderful and I loved the quotes from a wide variety of different human rights icons. IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO BEES BEWARE! My dog and I got chased a few times by bees who make homes all over the place.
A very inspirational and moving monument to human rights
Beautiful. I loved the area and landscaping around the memorial. There is great information available. I love all the dedications around the area. This memorial is a great place to take your family to understand a little bit about humanity. You get a good feeling when you go to a memorial. Absolutely recommend stopping by and enjoying this beautiful site.
I didn't actually visit this memorial to learn or read about Anne Frank. I was taking a break from exercising and sat at a bench here for awhile. I'd have to go back and really check it out to give a better review. While I was peacefully resting in the shade. A woman and her small child checked out the statue. They seemed to enjoy visiting this area.
This place was a quaint comfy park like atmosphere. Students were there studying and writing papers. Birds were chirping. The statues available and water falls they have installed were clean. Info on some of the statues. For all ages! Def worth stopping by and taking a looksie :)
We shall all remember the heartache and struggles of people that are prosecuted
Nice place to stop by 👍 …
Wow. I think this is well worth the visit! Just reading the UN declaration of human rights is pretty powerful.
Very insightful and I enjoyed it very much.
Having good time I am staying here.
What can I say she is blind deaf and dead.... Lol but nice park, clean.
What a great treasure to find when looking for some local flavor. I appreciate everything this memorial stands for and what it hopes to convey in teaching both young and old visitors to the memorial. I found it incredibly powerful and after the first section was crying the whole time knowing the courage, pain, and devastation most of the people highlighted experienced. Its powerful. It was still under some construction so I can see it only getting better when that new section is complete but even with one part fenced off for work the walls of quotes, the voices you can listen to, and ability to sit and reflect is a really special experience that I wish more cities brought light to something many people don't even know about. I went with my guy and his niece who is 9 and she didn't know who Anne Frank was and at first didn't understand why I was crying when going through the exhibit. Its a great example of ways to show compassion, love, tolerance, and history to many.
Surprisingly quiet location right near downtown Boise. Spent a while reading the various quotes on the walls and benches. Great spot to visit!
Beautiful memorial that pays tribute to the human rights struggles of Anne Frank and many other people from different cultural backgrounds. The park grounds are beautiful as well.
Very surprised to discover the story of Polly in Idaho.
It's an educational park with 0.81 acres of cenotaph complex near Boise Public Library. It is the only human rights memorial in the U.S designed by Idaho Falls architect Kurt Karst.
There are a statue of Anne Frank, a sapling of the Anne Frank Tree and quotations from some sixty notables and unknowns (including poets, activists, politicians and diplomats, those who survived the Holocaust).
It's a peaceful calm place. It has free admission. You can find street parking nearby. You can also find parking near the rose garden of Julia Davis Park which is only 5-7 minutes walking distance from the memorial.
My family visited from Toronto. My sister and her son just made a fuss about how great this place is. Her husband is Jewish, so human rights is really close to home. They read all the plaques and came away with a deeper understanding of people who have contributed to human kind from many ages and counties.
Good for pictures and a solemn moment. This place offers a still frame in time providing context as to why it is important to stand up to oppression. I go see it two or three times a year. It's easy to get to and has plenty to do around it, like the museums and library.
If you really want to think about the impact of your life and the difference you can make this is a great place to be. You come to appreciate your rights and privileges and gain an understanding of what others have gone through. Definitely a must see if you're in Boise
We have been visiting from Idaho and rode our bikes to this park. The Anne Frank memorial was amazing and I could have spent many more hours there than I did just reading and reflecting on how important human rights are.
Interesting and informative. Quiet sitting place, great quotes. I know Ann Frank's story and it was required reading when I was in school. If you forget, you're doomed to repeat. Educational without being too descriptive or inappropriate (for all ages).
I visit often- very humbling and fitting in these times
This is a very special place. Very welcoming but also very poignant. You can stand in the same size room that Anne Frank lived in for 2 yrs. You can learn about many other instances of tragedy without getting too overwhelmed.
Beautiful Memorial. I am a photographer and there are lots of nice areas for photos. By the greenbelt. One down fall, and not to sound mean, but there are a lot of homeless near by.
I love going to the Anne Frank memorial. I learn more and see more with each visit. Idahoans can be rightfully proud of their contribution to Human Rights pursuit.
Great space to get some learning. You don’t have to just hang out while your phone charges all the while smoking those damn cigarettes. Get some learning done.
Beautiful and great for longboarding.
Well worth stopping by and seeing the history and information.
Very thought provoking and lots of history
Nice little park/memorial in the heart of Boise. Everyone should take about 30 minutes out of their vacation, and come here. The art, quotes, and history you can learn here is very humbling.
One of Boise's jewels! Very beautiful, enlightening, tragic & educational.
I've been here dozens of times and each time I come I find something or learn something new. I'll keep going back, so should you.
This is a very inspiring memorial place! Lots of interesting plaques, inspiring quotes, and dignified statue of Anne Frank! Well worth visiting while in Boise!
This is the best human rights memorial I've ever been to. It is extremely well done. A very tranquil setting with quotes engraved in stone, audio information players, and fountains. Definitely worth a stop.
This is a powerful and touching monument, not just to Anne Frank, but to humanity as a whole. This is so much more than a holocaust memorial, and if you plan to visit, make sure to block out around an hour, just to make sure you really explore and read everything.
Thoughtfully designed memorial. Very touching.
This is a great site to see if you are in Boise. It gives us a sense of the troubles these people faced. I took my family here and was glad I did. I would definitely recommend it.
A group of 18 toured the Anne Frank Memorial on June 20, 2017. It was a very hot day and our tour started at 12:15 to 1:00. Our docent - Ann Byron did a excellent job despite the heat and even a larger group as several people joined us. Thank you for your service as a volunteer. I know I will return with not only out of town guests but myself to read all of the writings.
A good well designed place to reflect on your thoughts, learn a little history and just enjoy the sun. Right off the bike path and short walking distance to many parks, restaurants and the library
Amazing place, a must go
Visiting this place was the most solemn and beautiful part of my month-long vacation.
This is a great memorial. It is interactive and a great place to read about injustance and the holocaust. It is fully outdoors and has quotes and areas to listen to the Ann Frank story. It is also right off of the green belt.
Inspiring and gut wrenching at the same time. It is a must see.
Lovely park at the centre of the city and have River flowing in between. Got a good bike track and also has nice seating chairs to relax.
A really nicely laid out outdoor memorial with beautiful stone work and paths, located right next to the Boise River and near downtown Boise. The memorial has many quotes from various civil rights leaders that sort of jump out at you as you walk through the memorial. Also includes a central statue of Anne Frank, imagery of other civil rights leaders and icons, and a memorial for historical genocides. However, it was unfortunate that all of the various civil rights leaders and movements were represented, EXCEPT any mention of the LGBTQ civil rights struggle or any mention of Stonewall or Harvey Milk. It seems this needs to be added, as it was conspicuously left out. It didn't seem complete to me.
Nice little dedication.
Given the times in which we live, it'd be a mistake to pass this by. If you are a local, how fortunate you are to have such a moving tribute in your community; if you are visiting, vacationing or just passing through, a tribute to the best in all of us that's well worth your time.
Peaceful and pretty location to honor those who were killed. During the winter it's not very colorful but still a nice place to watch the geese and walk.
This is a very touching memorial and a great place to contemplate the Holocaust and other human rights injustices.
Very thoughtful. And soon more to view. Construction ongoing. Quotes from great people around the world. A bit difficult in parking at the moment due to the construction, but it will be worth it.
So many places the river, the play ground, the water falls and the water fountian lots of things you can do meet people ride bikes go down the river it all was so much picnics, birthday parties dog walking. I had so much fun oh even for the handicaps and our scotters
It was absolutely beautiful. The quotes on the walls, landscaping and water features we're stunning. It definitely worth visiting ❤️
Wow, great walk and respect for great people... But, a little too "Woke"
This is a really beautiful, hopeful, sad, spiritual and moving place. Everyone should definitely spend an hour here contemplating the goodness that is possible in the toughest of circumstances. I was so moved
Loved the audio track part! The grounds were really well kept and the quotes were all really interesting. Very thought provoking.
What a beautiful sanctuary to visit
This is truly a great place to visit if you are in the Boise area. It's remarkable What that lady went through just to survive..
I read great words written by women, but saw little about the young men who actually fought for our "Human Rights"!
History is important an they have given this display lots of thought as it beautifully gives respect to the meaning behind it
What an experience, so much to look at & read about Ann Frank, very well done! Definitely a place not to miss, especially the spring & summer.
This place is truly a peaceful place to come to when the world is sideways!
I"ve learned a lot from this place...
Still under construction, but already there is a beautiful meditation garden with waterfalls and place appropriate inspirational quotations carved in stone. There will be meeting and education spaces as construction finishes
Very informative. Everyone should go see it.
This park is beside the green belt trail in bosie it has beautiful rose garden and it was the site of the first hemp fest in 2016
A beautiful area to experience. It is a place to reflect on your own feelings of people that are not your race.
Nice memorial. I had to read the book in school, I'm sure everyone did. I'm older now and to think of what horrible time she, and all the others who suffered had...real bummer
Beautiful place on the river. Homeless people tend to hang out here during the day though, so it's not always as nice to visit as it could be.
Incredible place! The attention to detail and thoughtfulness of the physical space and the exhibits conveys the gravity and hope of Anne and her diary.
Very Somber Place. I knew many of the quotes, but not who said them. Finding out who they were revealed so much more about the quotes on the stone.
Quiet thoughtful place to visit in the heart of downtown. Right next to the green belt, the river, and 2 of Boise's best parks.
Love, love, love this place. It is deeply spiritual and speaks to your heart. It's a meditation in nature. It keeps calling me back again and again!!
I have always loved this monument. I enjoy how it has evolved and hope they get the basement of the log cabin for their new office space.
Lots of quotes from historical figures. Located next to the downtown library. Greenbelt and river next to memorial. Great educational site.
Great memorial with lots of good information and facts to represent the lives of many. The area was very clean and well maintained!
A tranquil memorial. Unavoidable place to visit in Boise
Excellent monument for a very important person for humanity.
Sitting there reading the quotes from around the world, really makes you feel a sense of profound respect for the struggles people have faced on this world.
Just in case you didn't know, Anne Frank's diary was written in pen, which didn't exist in her area, and then the diary itself was proven fraudulent. Look it up yourself!
And if you want a lesson in human rights abuse, just look at all the fake laws and tyrannical shutdowns being imposed on us right now.
Ordered the whole chicken and was not disappointed. If you love fried chicken you will love this
Takes about 40 min. to hear all the sound bites along the path. Some fabulous quotes too.
Compelling, Amazing, moving and so much more. So lucky to have been here. If you are anywhere close, you must go!
It was just an awesome place to walk around and read all the pieces of information and different quotes.
Great place to visit, enjoyed very much.
Very educational. A must visit to fully understand the relationship between you and the world. Do not miss it.
Very nicely kept memorial area, a few too many sponsor names and confusion. But a nice place to see and think about history.
This is a very nice memorial, which we come back to time and time again.
Great area with a nice bit of nature around it. I enjoyed the quotes and the fountain/pool.
This is very impressive and necessary for any age to see in order to be mindful of how one person can make a difference!
How wonderful this is in Boise! What a moving and impactful memorial. Every city should have one of these!
Nothing extravagant. Just walls and a plaque. They could of made it more educational/informative about what is bring memorialized and why.
It was beautiful. A little cold but very pretty area and well taken care of.
A lot to see and learn. Tour guide had additional information to share
Very interesting
Emotional, thought provoking and, unfortunately, still relevant. Beautiful place

Beautiful and quite scenic, especially with it being along the BR Greenbelt and also, right behind/beside the Main Library! building...
A very peaceful and inspiring place. A good demostration of the resilience and triumph oh the human spirit.

It gave me a good perspective on how many people where in the attick with Ann Frank.
Learn about it, nice to see what I learn to re learn as if was the first time learning.
Really well done. Beautiful and inspirational space.
