Reviews of Discovery Center of Idaho
Melissa Parker
I really loved our trip to the discovery center. I have children that are teenagers as well as a 6 year old. They loved seeing the creature art exhibit. And loved the T-Rex. The hands on activities that they did have, all 3 kids enjoyed together, which usually doesn’t happen because of the age gap. I do recommend paying for the year. With my family of 5 it pays for itself in 2 visits! I called ahead and let them know when I would get there and got right in on a Saturday. They do require masks, which I appreciate with a high risk child with asthma that hasn’t been able to get the Covid shot yet until his appointment arrives. It gives my children a great place to use their minds and get away from the video games. We will be visiting frequently and make it our family tradition that they will never forget.

Great place for kids to interact and learn! We were able to see and interact with all stations in a reasonable amount of time. The kids had a great time experimenting and well be back once the "Sue" exhibit is done.
Theresa Greenland
We LOVE LOVE LOVE our Discovery Center membership! We went to the Slime Exhibit this past weekend (10/15/22) and we all had a wonderful time! We love the new look of the Center too! Can't wait to go again!
Kelsey D
We had fun at the center, but the younger kids I was with were bored. It was definitely something more for adults to appreciate, kids didn't care much.
B. D.
My kids had a blast, staff was very friendly. It is CARD only NO cash transactions currently, FYI. EBT recipients who show their card receive discounted entry fee.
The main attraction when we went was the slime room, we waited quite some time for the hands on attractions and never were able to get our kiddo a chance at those as the same family was at the station for over a half hour when we gave up. Despite that, it was a fun time for both my 4 year old and 10 month old.
LADY RIGHTEOUS
Just went and experienced the Discovery center for the T-Rex theme with my kids. Haven't been here for years. They did have a lot of science experiments and good information to learn, and the dinosaurs were amazing to see. Lots of educational purpose here but as far as fun we could have used more interaction from staff or maybe some more upbeat attractions. For a museum feel it was good though. The play place for the kids under five look like it had a lot of play potential. We will come back for sure, as it is a Boise staple. Excited to see the other themes as well over time. My kids are looking forward to the Lego experience to come back.

This is a great place to visit. The Titanic artifact exhibition is a must go place. Lots of artifacts from the vessel Titanic.
Caity R.
Great place for kids and adults
Fun things to see and do
Gift shop is cute
Courtney Steele
A bit small compared to science centers we've been to in other states but good for an hour or two of family fun/learning. My son just turned 5 and it is a bummer he is no longer able to use the tots area for ages 4 and under. The rest of the exhibits seem geared more toward older children and adults. So we will wait a few years before renewing membership.
sandra kolarevic
I took my 11 year old to see the Slime exhibit. Love how it wasn't just slime but incorporated science with displays, And rest of the science experiments were fun, she never felt like it is learning only. It was fun birthday present for her.
Mary K. Spears
Such a great place! Did you know if you have an EBT card it's only $4 per person up to 4 people in you household? Also, caregivers get in free with the person they are supporting!
fuzzyballin89
Took the kids to see Sue the T-Rex exhibit and they loved it!!! They didn't have all of the normal interactive stuff because of the exhibit but was well worth it. The staff there were extremely polite and talked to our kids about a few of the fossils there.
Jeremiah Rausch
This place is great. The slime exhibit is so neat. Can be really busy at times, so think about when you go. Also do online reservations. A family membership is great allows to to go for awhile and come back another day.
Zen Pet Care Services LLC.
My kids love to learn and play here. Their newest exhibit SLIME was so much fun, we took lots of photos! It's definitely worth the effort bringing the whole family.
Trisha D
Great fun; exhibits always changing; we got the annual pass and we are excited to use it again. Was pro-rated to be a year from purchase; which is awesome. My two kiddos and family always have a fun hour or two here and we learn something too, staff is very kind.
Billy Goatgruff1
Not as fun as I remember. I used to take school field trips here many moons ago and I feel like there was more to do then. Took my daughter there for the slime exhibit. It was just alright. We still had fun and there were still lots of cool things to do but not what I was anticipating. A little spendy too. It was around 30 for both of us.
Mariah Riker
edit: Sue the TRex was AMAZING! There was a lot of touch/smell things, and they really have a great set up. Whether you are a visual, kinesthetic, or auditory learner-they have a way for you to experience Sue. They had a lot of their sensory/exploratory exhibits set up which was nice, my big guy got to explore those while my little guy got to run around the tot lot.
Tons of fun and interesting activities to do! They have something for everyone and even have a side play area for tots.
Tannor King
Fun place to take your family! Very kid friendly, even for younger 1-4 year olds. Gadgets and stations are pretty neat. Only reason I'd givec4 stars is it's a pricey for how much is inside, but I understand they gotta make money somehow.
Mike Bleck
I have membership and take the grandkids regularly. They always have a good time.
The "slime" exhibit was a blast . So much fun with such a simple item.
We will keep going back.
Amy Storms
My teen children and I really enjoyed the Titanic experience! It was nice how everything was spaced out and very interesting. It was also very good to have limited littles in the facility, it has been very difficult to enjoy as an adult in the past unless you take part in adult night.
Jeannette Marler
I have a 4 year old granddaughter and a 10 year old. There was something for both! Fun 1 hour and a half. Could of had more slime to play with but, we had fun with what there was...
adam5 ketterling
Went to the Titanic artifacts exhibit. Staff from the front desk to the exit door was knowledgeable, helpful, and extremely friendly. Was all around a great experience and well worth the cost of admission.
Samantha Fuller
We went for the 1st time with our 14 month old and had a lot of fun. The place seemed pretty clean as well. Our little girl really enjoyed the under 4 play area that is where we spent must of our time but it was also fun walking around looking at all of the other things. For the age we are in right now she really only had 1 area to play in but she was well entertained for a while.
PAULA Haunschild
My three grandchildren were captivated with all the different activities during our recent visit to the Discovery Center. We visited two of the galleries in the morning, then enjoyed a picnic lunch in the neighboring park before returning to do all the activities in the third gallery. They are anxious to make at least one more return visit while SLIME is still here.
Ricardo R. Torres
Great fun! Always something interesting to see/do. The staff is always friendly and willing to answer questions. Love taking our 8 and 6 year old there.
Christyna Green
Saw the Titanic exhibit during my visit. They had artifacts on display with informational plaques. The theme for the whole exhibit demonstrated the feelings of being on the Titanic the night of the accident. If you've seen the documentaries, then you might recognize some of the artifacts. At the start of the tour, they assign you a passenger. Then at the end you learn if you were a survivor, or lost and a story about each passenger's life. Very nice experience.
Andrea Alverson (Andi)
A great asset to Boise. We went to the Titanic exhibit and was very impressed with everything they offered! And they are handling everything so well with the Covid restrictions and safety measures.
Lisa Ogle
We have a grandparent pass. Last week, I took 2 kids to the DC to experience Slime before it was over. We had fun and the 4 year old didn't want to leave. We'll be back!!
Ima Honestee
Some exhibits I'd give a 3 or 4 star. But mostly it's a 5. Staff is friendly and helpful. The exhibits are fun and engaging for children. The current shark exhibit is my all time favorite they have ever had. It's educational, fun, and beautiful. Definitely worth getting a family pass!
Heidi Fischer
The staff was so friendly and good with children and the exhibits were awesome! Great hands on learning for the kids. They have a learning area specifically for children 4yrs and under. Loved Tinker the Trex.
Lily M
What a fun place to bring kids any season of the year since it’s indoors. Hours of entertainment for all kids any age. They have this great play area for babies and toddlers. The little kiddos can play and explore as well. The entire museum is so diverse and interesting, parents will enjoy diving in and trying everything out as well. Money well spent.
Nandagopan Pillai
Good experience. They have lot of things displayed which were actually brought from the wrecked titanic from the bottom of the ocean. Very interesting to see those things in real.
Schonie Lee
Hands on and super fun learning for the whole family. Always new displays that help keep things fresh and engaging. Check out the family passes, well worth the cost!
Laurie Crowson
We took one of my students on Sunday and all 3 of us had SO much fun! The quality of the items are incredible and the colors so vivid! Even the music helped with the ambiance. My student had more fun documenting things with my phone than I did and wants to go back!
Lol...the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I wish there had been MORE! All in all, I know my student had a blast and went home with some memories and memorabilia that will likely last a lifetime--nicely done!
Anca Trifan (Tree-Fan Events)
Fabulous place for kids to play in a learning environment about all things STEM and particularly this season, all things Legos and Bricks. We spent hours there (with a lunch break) and could have easily spend the entire day.
Ackk1618
Loved the discovery center. A little pricey and didn’t know they had discounts for people on EBT. My children loved it.
Rebeca Madison
We just went for our first time with our son who is 2yrs old. We ended up purchasing a year pass for $65. It made sense. It was gonna be $35 for a single entry. They change the exhibits regularly so we figured it would be nice to have the yearly pass. My son loves everything about the place.
My husband & I got a sitter & went just the two of us on a date. It’s very hands on & super fun for older kids & adults.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 star is just because I feel it’s expensive for the one time admission. Specially for families who have multiple children.
There is a toddler area which my son loved!
Melissa Phillips
This was such a Blast our 6 year olds learned so much. Bring the grand parents! Plenty of places to sit along the way and tons of interactive science that was fun for grown ups too! Can't wait till fall to see the new exhibit
Angela Bruno
We had the best time. My 5 & 6 year old sons loved everything! My mom and I enjoyed the art work in the exhibit beyond measure. So grateful for our day together at the Discovery Center!
Matthew Frand
This place is a lot of fun we Get the yearly pass here because there’s always different exhibits and fun things for the kids and family to experience and it gets us out of the house and doing an activity together. The latest exhibit was about butterflies and various animals that were put together in artwork which was really needed my boys especially loved the snakes that were found and put on display. At the end they also have a really fun play area for all the kids to hang out and enjoy some great experiences.
Erick Brown
It was pretty fun for the most part. A few things were s little pricey but overall a great place to take our 12 and 5 year olds! They loved the activities and enjoyed learning about things.
Karen Nations
This place is great! It appeared to be well kept. The exhibit displays were fabulous! The room with hands on STEM activities was so interesting. My grandchildren aged 4, 5, & 9 had a great time. My adult daughters and I enjoyed ourselves very much too. I can't wait for my husband to go there with me when we take our other granddaughter!
Lisa Kirland
My best friend and I (along with my service dog) took her kiddos to the discovery center and it was such a nice experience. Very cool
Les Eric Lewis
Great time with my Grandson exploring the Exquisite Creatures of Christopher Marley's exhibit. Wowser wow wow wow!
Anthony Cesarini
It's small (maybe 3 exhibits) but high quality. The kids loved the interactive science area. Tons of hands on activities. And our 3 year old loved the toddler area.
N Meier
Cool place for kids to learn about science, technology, engineering and math. Not quite as cool as I recall from when I was a kid, but my children 4-5 always have a blast when visiting. New exhibits with legos and new tech are fun and interactive. Birthday party setup is nice and allows for private access to the facilities for an hour or so. Liquid nitrogen ice cream is pretty good as well!
Diana Jenkins
I love to take my kids here (ages 5, 7, 11, 16 & 18). There is something for the whole family. The kids have such fun they don't even know they are learning.
Christine
Enjoyed the adult evening. Volunteers and staff are amazing! Sue the T-Rex is fascinating. Only complaint, wish the exhibit were larger and the presentation longer...but it is likely a more kid-friendly venue normally, so I get that.
Hope Blooms Flowers And Things!
This time around we think it would've been better for older
kids -8 and up - We got there early and it still got crowded and too hard for the littles to try the equipment - Sue the dinosaur was cool - wish the Apollo exhibit was more -
Emily Colson Hill
We had a great time visiting Sue! It was so neat to see the one with skin, and then the skeleton, especially the interactive video. The other skeletons were really neat too. The Apollo display was smaller than I'd of liked (huge Apollo nerd here LOL) but it was super cool as well. I was really hoping there would be some Mercury to play with in the interactive room, but I understand why there wasn't any. Overall super fun and I'd love to go back!! :)
Corey and Bonnie Taylor
My experience with staff has been pleasant. And Pam in membership is wonderful and kind! We have been awed by their current main exhibit “Exquisite Creatures” which we spent way more time experiencing than we had anticipated. And after receiving a gift membership for our family, we were excited to support this establishment. All this makes it sad for me to express my frustration for another less-than positive experience in the kids area.
Unfortunately both times that we have gone – one time at a not so busy time, and another one during spring break – there were no volunteers in the toddler area. This is unfortunate only because the many ignorant, selfish, and/or illiterate adults who decided on both occasions, to ignore the NUMEROUS signs (three large detailed signs, PLUS 2 full-sized STOP signs) which explicitly detailed that the area was for four and under only.
Because of our first experience, I asked the very kind young man at reception, if there was a volunteer in the toddler-kids area, to which he assured me there was. In the approximate hour we were in that area, I never spied one (at least not anyone who appeared to be a volunteer or who was doing anything about the numerous overage kids in the toddlers area.)
I understand help is scarce, but I would put someone there. One obviously overage young man decided to stack all the cushions while his mother looked on lazily as he began to punch it to knock it over. There’s a reason it’s for four and under.
Tevin Hendess
The dinosaur exhibit was very cool to see and had interesting information. Beyond that though there is only one other large, interactive exhibit with a few smaller things to read. Most of what the museum has is fun, but it's a bit pricy for how small it is.
Erik Mendoza
Friendly place for kids to get their stem on and has activities for all ages
Jessica Oliver
Sue the T Rex is incredible! My 5 year old loves looking at the fossils and watching the T Rex video. Very realistic
Leeann Jorgensen
Lots of variety for activities and age groups. Easy to stay several hour. Bring lunch, or across road is Whole Foods with great choices
Caile Spear
My 4 year old granddaughter had a great time. She liked the King Tut, should me how to walk like an Egyptian and the dinosaurs. It was important for her to get out of the house and explore new ideas.
Kristin Cole
Wonderful place to learn and spend time together. New exhibits throughout the year make for exciting visits. Membership grants you ASTC membership with free access to hundreds of museums around the country. It's a great value if you are traveling with kids.
Timothy Lillie
This is a pretty expensive spot if you only plan to visit once or twice. A membership isn't super cheap, but there are attractions for toddlers as well as for older kids and adults. On the other hand, there are new exhibits fairly often and if coupled with a day out in the park or something like that, could be a nice experience. I'll update after the next visit if anything new needs to be added.
Update: still fun with toddlers. They look forward to the toddler play area every time we go.
breanna allen
It's small. Basically 3 rooms. One of which is the interactive room. It was cool to check out, however at $20 per adult it was one of the most expensive things we visited & took less than an hour.
Heather Maxey
Never a disappointment. Discovery center always has fascinating exhibits. Their staff is warm and welcoming and happy to help with questions. They have taken all the right precautions with the pandemic
Claudia Cuccureddu
I went there with my children and we had fun. We spent almost two hours and could have spent another two at least. I like the funny experiments. We really like the discovery center.
Robbin Featherston
Awesome exhibits. Definitely geared more towards 5 and up. They have a 4 and under area.
Joan Scofield
Always a great place to visit. We love the changing exhibits but look forward to seeing our favorite displays each time as well. It's fun that they move the regular displays around in the rooms so you discover something new each time. And they always seem to add something entirely new to the permanent collection, like the new light wall made from plastic bottles.
Whitney Bascom
The exquisite creatures exhibit was cool but the same exhibit is closer to $10/ person when held in other locations. The kids spent a little while in the hands on area but after about 45 minutes they have exhausted everything there is to do. While it's cool, value wise the museum just isn't worth it. Not sure why the price is so high.
Luis M.
I visited for the Titanic Exhibit- it was really I interesting. They staff there is super friendly- and the pieces were amazing!!!
Randy Cleverly
I think I could easily spend a day here checking out each exhibit, but only had a couple of hours with a bunch of 1st graders. They had fun!
Cary Fortin
So grateful for the Discovery Center! The SUE T Rex exhibit was spectacular was our whole family (including adults) and the permanent experiment/interactive/chaos room is such a joy for my kids (2 and 4 years). Convenient location, super helpful and informed staff -- so much to love!
Jason Reed
The Titanic exhibition was amazing. There were multiple times where I almost got emotional. The chills and feeling it gives are awesome. I have been fascinated by the titanic since I was a kid. Highly recommended.
Craig Lowary
Great little science discovery venue. They have rotating exhibits, a four year old and younger only interactive area, and 4+ hands on area. Great time for the entire family. You can reserve a time and buy tickets online
SL
In the middle of installing a new exhibit so not much for my 7 yr old. Will try again sometime
Stephanie Hudgens
Me and my oldest child (14) were completely entertained by their exotic creatures art show. The two younger kids, 13 & 3, were completely bored til we reached the minimal hands on experiences. Definitely not the discovery center I remember as a child. Not really the best for younger kids like it used to be.
Karina Moore
$19/adult and $11/2-17 y.o. is WAY too much to charge for what they had to offer. We've been to a lot of similar places in different cities of the U.S. and we were surprised and disappointed to see how small the whole place was after paying almost $100 for our family to enter.
What they had was generally good quality (some broken things), but I'd never go back or recommend that anyone else should go, because they should have maybe double the exhibits, or at least a third more. Or charge less.
Leane
We purchased a Family Pass and added a Grandmother for a small additional fee. So worth it. Lots of things to do for a lot of age brackets. The grands love it and this grandmother loves enjoying their joy!
Golden 89
GREAT way to spend the afternoon with your kids (or just by yourself). We purchased tickets in advance for the "SUE" T-Rex display. Very informative, educational, and impressive. Neat little gift shop too. We'll be back!
Hussein Alazzawy
Very fun place to take your kids to fun stuff and you would have fun as an adult also
Kristi Sather-Smith
I took both of my grandchildren to the Exquisite Creatures exhibit. It was amazing in so many ways. The exhibit itself is huge and very nicely displayed. I plan to revisit several more times before it leave. The Center also had some interactive activities set up out side of the exhibit and both my grandchildren loved spending time there.
Bette Monteith
Had a great visit with my grandkids visiting over the holidays from Wyoming. They loved every bit of it!!
handy 0318
We took our grand-daughter to see Sue the TyRex for her 4th birthday gift and she had an amazing time seeing the dinosaur models as well as the interactive play area! I did miss some old favorites that our granddaughter's mom and uncle used to love, but it was still such a nice time!
Lisa Reid
Very surprised by the Discovery Center. I went Years ago when my daughter was little and it was kinda old and in need of an update. I went this week and it is so nice! All redone and amazing. Most of it I'd exhibits from Christopher Marley. He does amazing work!! I feel it's not really geared for little ones even though there is a small room for younger kids. It's more for teens and adults in my opinion. The lady at the front desk was very friendly!
Isaac Roetcisoender
I don't think it's worth the $20 per person. in comparison, I've went to a similar place in Seattle, WA and that one had more activities, more things to see, and a bigger gift shop.
I much prefer the Seattle discovery center.
Da Mama
Awesome place! The movie playing about dinosaurs was a little graphic but great displays!!! Would have like to have known about the family pass for zoo and the Discovery center as we could have saved money! We will be back!!!
Kathy
I actually got two different memberships for my kids and grandbabies. We will be going there many times in the coming year
Chantell Gergen
We love the changing exhibits. This museum always has something new to look at and explore.
Thomas Bartolome
Sue the T-rex was a visit that I believe has something for everyone.
Kayla Dodson
The Slime exhibit was fun for our 4-year-old grandson and for us!
Kimette Weaver
Titanic exhibit is a must see. Original artifacts & set up are spot on!
Samantha Z
Absolutely amazing! My kids had such a great time! Definitely will be going back!!
John Gahbauer
Somewhat expensive for the exhibitions which are good but not extensive. The space is small. Probably best for small kids under 4 and kids over 10. Kids 5-9 have less on offer.
Micah Dultz
Get the membership! So many fun things to return to over and over. The current Slime! Exhibit is a blast for all ages.
Kimberly Perkin
Super great toddler park ( ages 2-5) just a three minute walk behind the center in discovery park. Nice outdoor play park equipment for the very young with adult supervision. Somewhat fenced and has nice seats for adults as they watch their kids playing.
Brett Downes
This place is beautiful and has some neat exhibits, it was clean and the staff was friendly. However I had to give it a three star only because I spent over $70 for two adults and my three kids to come in here and it was super small, we were done and less than 15 minutes. I'm surprised there was as many people in here as there are, seems like it's designed more for adults, there is a kids area but even my kids got bored after a short time. It's definitely not worth the over an hour drive to get here and way high price.
JAcob
Educational and very well organized. It was a fun experience for the kids too.
Anna Abbott
I have been going to the discovery center since I was a kid. I've always enjoyed spending time at each learning station and exploring things we take for granted in the world around us. As an adult, I still enjoy going and visiting from time to time. My only wish was they had a larger budget to update some of the older stations, they are getting a little worn as time passes.
Amber Dykema
Lots of fun learning for my 4 year old but I think the focus is more for school aged kids.
Shannen Kellim
We loved the Exquisite Creatures exhibit and our toddler loved playing for over an hour in the kids section! The exhibit is so beautiful.
Pro parent tip: have one guardian take kids to play area while the other guardian enjoys the exhibit if kids start to get wild. Then rotate parents since you can go through endless times!
Dianne Smith
I went for the King Tut exhibit. It was very well done. Loved it!
Bonnie Arriaga
Educational and fun place to take the kids or grandkids. My 5-yr. old grandson loved it, lots of hands-on activities. The exhibits are thought-provoking and great conversation starters with the kiddos. Allow plenty of time, lots to see.
Andrew
Since my childhood I have loved visiting the Discovery Center. As an adult I enjoy the exhibits and I look forward to bringing my son once he is old enough to appreciate it as much as I have.
Jared Larkin
The place was well organized and clean. They also had a soundtrack playing in the background that fit the theme and feel of the exhibit. They also have an area for kids, so this is a good place for a family night out. Overall a good place to go to discover something new about this world in which we live.
Grant Breuer
Love learning and relearning things I've forgotten. Only downside is I wish they had more cool stations to see.
Rosy Cressy
The Birthday Boy Had A Great Time!!!
Marcus Wilkinson
Great place to take kids lots of science great place to teach
Lela Beyer
While the discovery center is small, the exhibits and hands on section is amazing. The staff super helpful and the layout was fun the way it brings you through the exhibit to the hands on area.
Thanks Discovery Center, the grandsons & I had a great time.
Amanda McFarland
Love the new exhibit with all sorts of insects, fish, and birds.
Morgan Todd
I love, love, love, love the Discovery Center. I mean, my kids love it. Lol. We went most recently for the dead creature exhibit. I was uneasy about the fact it would be a bunch of dead creatures but it was actually really cool! It did leave me wondering who thought of putting a bunch of different species of dead creatures together to make such beautiful art, but it was a great time as always.
Adam Vashro
Titanic Exhibit was truly an amazing modern marvel for its time! The Discovery Center did a great job on the displays.
Joanna Jost
We thoroughly enjoyed the Titanic exhibit! What an amazing presentation, the artifacts were stunning in their preserved state. The story was told very well and we left with a solid understanding of the history of the event. Highly recommend! We've been DCI members for many years and I think this was the best exhibit to date! Keep up the good work.
Sue Scobby
My grandsons (ages 11 and 8) loved Sue, the T-Rex exhibit. The exhiibt is well done and full of interesting dino displays. My favorite part was the presentation about Sue's skeleton with lighted areas showing you the section being discussed. A surprise highlight for the boys was getting to smell dino breath! Lots of great dino information. Thanks for bringing this to Boise!
Colleene Iuliano
This exhibit of the Titanic was amazing! All the artifacts were very interesting, I love the description of them all, it is hard to believe that they were all preserved so well! I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you for a wonderful exhibit! Getting a replica of a boarding pass for a ticket was awesome and then being able to look on the wall to see if my person survived was awesome. I treated my friend from Seattle to this exhibit for her birthday! She really liked it. Thank you for bringing it to Boise!
Jarita Augerot
The place is clean. Lots of activities to learn and explore. I did miss the projector on the earth with the dinosaurs moving and pterodactyls flying over. Love the walk on the water with the fish in the waves
Tina Shinaver
it was a great place! my daughter spent herr bday there and had a blast! especially in the under 4yr old place
Kelsea Skaggs
The kids love all the interactive stations here. The Lego room was a huge hit!
Judy Zedalis
Great place. The family and I enjoyed it. However it's rather expensive
Valorie Roper
Awesome little museum. Current show Magnificent Creatures is amazing. Adults & Kids alike will love it. Membership is a good value.
Frank Pearson
Our group loved the exhibit as it was interesting and very informative. The artifacts and first, second, and third class cabins were displayed extremely well. Scott, the tour assistant, was very friendly and accommodating and was able to answer many questions about the ship as well as the White Star Line. It was a memorable experience for everyone in our group. Thank you.
mely mad
We went to see the Titanic exhibit. The exhibit is pretty cool, the problem was that people weren't respecting social distancing at some points of the exhibit.
Christine Roderick
It was like "wow!" How can one express the feelings of going back a 109 years to sinking of the Titanic!!!!
How many movies were made about this can never come close to seeing things from people who had lost their lives, children losing parents, husband's losing wives, etc.
The displays were amazing, reading about, and seeing how it all took place was like being there yourself!
Thank you Discovery Center in Boise for putting it all together! If you didn't get there I am sorry as you missed an amazing and superior way it was put together. Not to mention the guides who came around and explained more to us! They were knowledgeable, funny and informed! Thank you to all!
Tom Rodrigues
Had a great time there with my daughter, son in-law and two grandkids. Very informative, interesting and well done. The kids loved the insects and the hands on games at the conclusion of the exhibit. Thank you.
Sandra Cahill
It was fun. The admission fee is a little high in my opinion.

My wife and I came from Texas to visit her 88 year old mother. She wanted to see the Titanic exhibit. It did not disappoint. We have seen other exhibits that were slightly larger, but they were in larger markets. The pricing was perfect for this exhibit and just the right size for her to walk through (with her walker). She really enjoyed seeing all of the artifacts and was particularly impressed with the boiler room display. She was looking for Titanic items in the gift shop to purchase for her great-grandchildren (12 and 9) who live out of state, but was disappointed to not find more items. Nothing specific, but geared towards children. All in all, the visit was exactly what we wanted it to be for her.
Edward Kowalski
Great experience, but also great staff; friendly, knowledgeable, real! Haunting experience with Titanic artifacts. Highly recommended. Lightning, sound, photography & personal connection card made it more than a museum. Go before they close!
Savannah Arellano
So the usual hands on exhibits were not available to us this trip but in the past they have always been amazing. Lots of multi age activities that teach so much. I love that they have toddler area with hands on creative play things. Best mix of fun and learning. This trip (5/1/21) they had the titanic exhibit. It was interesting, geared towards adults and had some interesting tidbits of info. Most of the displays were small everyday items like a comb, leather bag, and some broken dishes. I was disappointed that the lady working the front desk was a little disrespectful about my son not wearing a mask, he has asthma and wearing a mask always causes an attack, everyone else in our group was wearing a mask.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Titanic Exhibit, and that is thanks in part to our "tour guide" if you will. Soon after entering, she asked if we had any questions and my 4 and 8 year old kids had tons! She very patiently and kindly answered all their questions and taught them about the Titanic.
A little in to our visit, this wonderful tour guide (I can't remember her name!) commented on my and my daughter's blue shirts with elephants. Quickly my daughter explained that they represented her brother Henry and that it was his birthday today! He would be 6, but he died. Most people when confronted with this information, gloss over it and move on quickly. She didn't. She said to my daughter, well, I bet he's looking at the exhibit with you! And then later when we were leaving, told me 'happy birthday to your son, and I hope you all enjoy his birthday' (something along those lines!)
I can't tell you how much it meant to me, on my son's birthday, to have him recognized and remembered. It was a small thing she did, but on a tender day, it was just what this grieving mother needed. I know it's not the purpose of reviews, but I wanted to write this specifically to say thank you!
Back to the actual exhibit: It was wonderful, the artifacts and displays were fascinating, and our guide was excellent- she answered all of our questions, provided more information, and was great with my kids. I only wish we hadn't run out of time (I think we were the last entry group of the day). Great way to spend a birthday.

Visited with family to see the "Critters" exhibit which was incredible. There seem to be no bounds to artistic & creative abilities for some people and it's a pleasure that they share those abilities with the rest of us. Highly recommend this exhibit.
Valeri Pighini
This was one of the most spectacular exhibits I've ever seen. The sounds that were streaming through the presentations, the clearly displayed informational plaques, the depiction of what life was like back then through the furniture as well as artifacts. I had the feeling I was actually there. This was really well done and I'm so glad I went. I especially liked the card you get at the onset of your tour, depicting someone who was on the Titanic, and then to find how they fared. Wonderful way to honor them. Thank you.
Connee Bentley
Actually I did not go!!! BUT my grandson has a great interest in the Titanic and had read several books about it before he went! My father had an awesome interest also, and actually had books and news articles about the ship. All family members loved the event! Glad for your extra care for your viewers. All workers were extremely polite and respectful! Wow! It was a great investment for me!
Derrick L.
For the price I would have expected more. Cool stuff but very small venue.
Brittani Driscoll
A great place to spen the day! Sue is really cool to see. The crew there is amazing, and also a volunteer time is always fun :)
M White
Great variety of hands on stuff for the kids to learn and play. Held their interest. Also thanks for offering the grandparents membership. With 18 grandkids this will come in handy.
Jessica McPherson
I was so excited to see the Titanic Artifact exhibit at the Discovery Center. I went in with mild expectations and didn't think they would have too may artifacts to show off but it went beyond my expectations. So many beautiful artifacts and setup, lots of historical facts and it was spaced out enough that I felt is was a safe environment. I just wish they were open later on weekdays so I bring my daughter after school.

DCI - I'm super thankful they are here. This has always been a super fun place to take the kids to experience a first - hands on take on science. They have always done a great job with the exhibits. Great job setting everything up. Im excited to get back and visit as it's always fun. My only - and only- negative here is it is a little pricey. Admission prices have been the only reason we don't visit more frequently. I now see the value of the year pass - except with turn times on exhibits it just makes it a little hard. $18/adult and $12/ kid is just...a little steep. I know, I get it - got to support the program and pay the overhead and the program which I fully support 100% - but..a little break here? Sorry not trying to bash in any way at all - don't take it as such. It's always been a great time here and I'm very thankful and supportive of everything you guys are doing for the STEM community 👍👍👍
Darren King
Visited the Titanic exhibition for my birthday. I thought it was presented in a thoughtful manner and great timeline. Seeing some of the artifacts that were brought up from the sea floor was amazing and informative. Models of the ship were amazingly detailed. I would love to take family visiting through the Titanic exhibition. It would have received 5 stars except all the rules set forth for corona virus
Rozie Blum
Very good my first time with my granddaughter she loves it.
Claressa Moore
I believe they have gone above and beyond in making themselves safe for the public. The Titanic exhibit was amazing and really built up to the sinking. They used music/sounds and lighting to guide you through the voyage and sinking. Also I have been going to the Discovery Center since I was little and always find something new to see or explore. I was really happy with the way they have adapted to the pandemic.
Eyal Balla
Nice place but too expensive for what it gives imho.
Kids had a good time, but didn’t take long to be bored and want to move on.
Bree K
Sue the Trex is a must go to. She's there thru September 4th, 2022
Alexander Trexler
I haven't been here recently, but I've been a member for years, and I've been going here all throughout my childhood, I've always loved going here, membership is definitely worth it, kids of all ages will love the Discovery Center, you can spend hours here and be constantly entertained, the place is always changing but I like that some things stay the same, like the pulley chair in the very first room. Love this place, and I will continue to love it. Definitely nostalgic for me.
Kimberly Nelson
Nice science museum. It caters to children and the staff works hard to ensure they have a good time. Recommended if you want to bring children to a science museum.
Downtown Boise Association
Took the team out for an afternoon adventure and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Discovery Center always provides a unique and educational experience that anyone can enjoy. We'll be back soon!
Curtis Conde
The most amazing experience to help your children's most wild imaginations!
Tree-Fan Events
The T-Rex Experience is great for kids of all ages
Terry Cook
Wonderful experience. Great display of Sue the most complete T-Rex. Lots of interactive stations for curious minds of all ages.
Jess Friedman
This place is a riot! I've taken large groups of kids there more than once, and they always have an absolute blast. Every exhibit is interactive and fun for kids and adults alike. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and let the kids just explore and have fun. The Discovery Center is definitely one of the best kid-friendly attractions in Boise.
Eagle Eye Chuck
While I didn't go in (it's by appointment only) from the outside This looks like a good place to visit.
Reece Evans
Visited the Discovery Center for the first time in years yesterday and it was so awesome! They have completely remodeled since the last time I was there. So many fun activities for young children and it was super clean!
Ashley Workman
We went for the Titanic exhibit. It was an awesome exhibit, although I would have liked it to be a bit more interactive. I would have also liked a few more specifics for the exhibit in the gift shop. It was mostly the same dinky toys that you can find at the toy shops in town.
L Miller (Lucky)
We got a family membership last year before covid and my boys loved all the hands on displays and they miss the lego building station with the water. The Discovery Center really made it right by extending our membership that we were able to see their display exhibits such as the King Tut and now the Titanic. They get a little boring for my little one because there's a lot of information to read but we were able to walk through it at a good pace. The staff are always so helpful with setting us up with a time slot and answering questions.
Toni McKnight
Visited for the Titanic Exhibit and was blown away. Very informative and a little emotional. Knowing that what you are seeing once belonged to someone who, more than likely, never lived to tell the tale. Worth every penny and highly recommend.
Elizabeth Kawaguchi
Some of the exhibits were out of order but otherwise had a great time and their was plenty of other exhibits to try.
Natalie Acheson
We were pleasantly surprised! The website for this place makes it look small with only a handful of exhibits, the building also looks fairly small. But, inside was amazing! Packed full of interesting and different exhibits, we easily spent over an hour here and you could probably spend another hour if you had the time and patience to read each experiment. As part of the ASTC Science museums our admission was free. Definitely worth a stop!
Christopher Lutzow
What a fantastic place! We went during the Titanic exhibit, and it was excellent. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tickets are required to be purchased in advance.
In total honesty, 1 star is being taken off because of the website. It was unclear that the Discovery Center was just the Titanic exhibit. From the website, I believed it was the Titanic exhibit in addition to what else was in the site.
We'll come back after the exhibit to see the Discovery Center's other offerings.
Mimi G
My oldest son is nonverbal and autistic, and he had a BLAST here. My youngest didn't want to leave their play area and both of my kids enjoyed all of the activities they have around the entire center. The staff was so polite and helpful and there's something for everyone there! We will definitely be returning.
Michael Quattrociocchi
Went to adult night and it was awesome. Tons of displays and presentations. Costume night as well. Even a bed of nails!
Sam Showers
We had our organization's winter celebration at the Discovery Center for about 100 people, and it went great! Not only did all of the guests have a great time, Cynthia (the event coordinator), went above and beyond to make sure our event was a success. She helped coordinate with the many vendors that we had at the event, as well as met with me several times leading up to the event to make sure we had everything we needed. We plan on using the Discovery Center for future gatherings. 10/10 recommend for large company events, and it's a great place to visit overall!
Eileen Thoreson
LOVED IT!!! The Titanic display was just wonderful!!!
Christopher Green
I visited the Titanic exhibit. While hearing about it all my life in books and movies, it never touched my heart until I saw items actually recovered from the boat. When I entered the building, I was given a replica passenger ticket and told I would find out if my passenger died that night or was saved during the aftermath. That gave me ownership in the tour. Each display meant more to me then and now. It was a wonderful, massive and touching presentation. Thank you.
KURTIS TAYLOR
Fun place for kids to learn and play! A little pricey, though.
Dave B.
A very nice but small center for kids 5 to 10. Lots of great hands on activities. You can take your time and do everything in a couple hours. They regularly swap out exhibits. We go once every few months. Membership pays for itself and is decently priced. If you time it right they have fun hands on STEM shows.
Jo Dale Guzman
We were visiting Boise and have a 7 year old who loves science so stopping here for an afternoon was a must do. The museum was great and we liked that the staff didn't hover so we were able to explore at our own pace. I think my husband and I had as much fun playing with the exhibits as the 7 year old!
Michael Naragon
Always a good time, and the shark exhibit is phenomenal!
rosalie valerio
I liked the King Tut exhibit, as I saw a few pieces in this one that I hadn't seen in the other Tut exhibits. Also it was a nice surprise to see Tinker the full sized T-Rex dinosaur skeleton from South Dakota. Both these exhibits will be gone around mid- February 2021 & replaced with a new one. The only reason it's not five stars at the moment is because right now it is it is smaller museum & the interactive displays are closed due to covid. But there is a docent who walks around sharing nice trivia about the exhibit. Nice gift/toy store as well, & members get 10% off purchases.
Mary Puccio
Always an extraordinary experience....this was another memorable one! Presented in such a personal way - with the 'passenger cards' - and our tour guide was fabulously knowledgeable and energized to make it a special learning experience - for 2 12 year olds, their Mom and Grandma. Thanks!
Amber Croff
Great hands on activities for the whole family. My kids really enjoyed the chair pulley, airplane launch and running through the noodles in the toddler area. Lots of fun to be had. Compared to other cities, this is quite a small museum. Gave only 4 stars due to some of the exhibits being really old and worn, and don't seems to work well any longer.
Leon S
Nice little center for kids to learn from doing experiments themselves
Jorie Bodell
I just love taking the kids here!!! They learn so much and have so much fun at the same time! My 5yr old was so excited that we couldn't keep him in one place for very long. My 12yr old had just as much fun, she loves science! Great place to take the kids for fun and education. Love it!!!!!
Galen Barnes
I go to every Titanic exhibit possible. This one at Boise Discovery Center was the best of all! The outline of the lifeboat, the artifacts, the large photos, and the easy to read explanations. Simply tops. The first, second, and third class experience came to life. The lists of passengers and their class which could be accessed by the full list added to the drama. Sadly, my passenger (name deleted) and children (sailing third class) all perished.
J R
My self and my four kids love this place. Between the rotating exhibits and the super helpful and friendly staff we have such a great time! Every Time! My kids are three, three, eighteen mo and eighteen mo and they love it still! Some concepts are over their heads but the active hands on activities keep them coming back for more. Dont be afraid of "age" this place has something for ALL ages!
Justin Gahley
Fun for the whole family, if you live in Boise and you have kids it's mandatory to take them down there at least few times. I went as a child and now I take my children.
They have several interactive play stations with interesting things for the kids to do. Plus they constantly change their displays through out the year. The only down side is it's not very large, and it's a little expensive. But it's definitely worth trying out if you haven't gone.
Marilyn Allen
Did not disappoint! The entire experience of the exhibition was wonderful. We appreciated the covid restrictions, and other visitors were respectful. Honestly, I'll never forget what I saw there. Thanks so much for having this opportunity available in Boise.
Susanna Manor
A very intriguing experience for the whole family to enjoy!
Angeline Gardner
My son and I visited after doing some reading at home about King Tut. We were so lucky to get to be there alone with a volunteer named Jen. I can't say enough nice things about her! Jen knew something about every single piece in the collection. I was amazed because my young son was so into it! He asked questions for an hour and 15 minutes and Jen was there the whole time answering all of them! Thank you so much!
dolores s
Our time spent viewing the Titanic Exhibition was pure pleasure, Both the Senior and the 16 year old were caught up in the drama of the individual lives, the luxury of the ship, the history of our world and the building technology! An afternoon well spent!
Chuck Hersey
Great time for kids or the kids at heart. The main exhibit change every few months so the best thing to do is get a annual membership. Best Deal for your money especially if you are a family.
Bring the kids for the learning experience which is amplified by some great, enthusiastic employees. Personal favorite is the Spirograph thingy. Get the guy with the fantastic mustache to explain it to you!
Sally Mitchell
We love Discovery Center! It may be small, but it's mighty. They always provide engaging and educational exhibits; we have been visiting for years and have enjoyed the variety of historical and science-oriented exhibitions (the recent Titanic and Egyptian shows are favorites). A plug for membership: your membership gives you reciprocal privileges (free or discounted entry) at other cool places in the U.S. such as Exploratorium in San Francisco, OMSI in Portland, and University of Utah Natural History Museum in Salt Lake City. Additionally, we were excited to learn that they're planning a remodel/expansion, so DCI will only keep improving!
Jaydee Dejesus
Saw Sue the t-rex and the exquisite creatures taxidermy exhibit. Great learning experience for the kids and ME!
Leslye Tozzi
The Titanic exhibit was our first visit to the Discovery Center. Great show - we felt very comfortable with the COVID protocol in place. The exhibit was so fascinating. We will certainly return for more!
Ben Larson
Grandma got us and the kids a year membership. I remember going here as a kid and yeah the experiments are a lot smaller but I love watching the kids learn. being a member we get to always come back when they get a new exhibit. Always so much fun and it was one of the best gifts we could have gotten.
Jamie Lewellen
Lots of spaces to explore for adults and kids. Our kids had a blast here, creating, testing, and tinkering. Unfortunately, the floor staff seem unable to control what happens in the toddler/young child area, which creates some chaos in there when older children enter the space and cause injury to the small children for which the space was designed. More attention to that area would be nice. The overall offerings of this museum are fantastic!
Kathleen Schmidt
Outstanding place for kids to learn and experiment; however, I think it’s expensive. I don’t mind paying the entry fee but to pay extra for the LEGO room is ridiculous. My husband and I took our grandson and had to pay because we couldn’t leave him alone so we paid an extra $18 for the LEGO room for a total of $50 for the three of us for three hours - and, that’s with a senior citizen discount. Luckily, we can afford it but many people cannot - especially those with multiple children.
John Sorenson
This place is really geared to kids 5 and older but even the younger kids will find fun things to do. They rotate main exhibits often enough to keep things interesting and the mainstays are always a treat to revisit. Great way to spend an educational day with good clean family fun.
Lynda Hopkins
Just went to the adult night Titanic. Such great displays and info. JEN was an amazing volunteer and had sooooo much Titanic info! We ended up following Jen around listening to her stories, she made the experience!
Angela Lovell
We used to come here every other week with the kids. They have a bunch of cool stuff but it's not as hands on as it use to be so I'm giving it a 4 instead of 5.
Jessica Neal
The titanic display was amazing. My fanatic son loved it. Very interesting, informative, and immersive experience. At times I got the chills looking at real artifacts and the stories attached to them.
Janice Jensen
This is always a fun place to take the kids! We were able to see the human anatomy exhibit. Some of my kids were not as interested, but others of them thought it was really cool! It's a great place for fun learning opportunities.
Marde Mensinger
Very lovely exhibit, lots of care shown by the employees and a clean facility
Kelsey Atkins
We have always enjoyed the Discovery center but there prices are outrageous now. Sometimes they have to remove some of the regular activities for an exhibit which makes it feel like you don't get your money's worth because it's more like a museum than an activity center. The activities/experiments they have are wonderful and my son always has a great time, but with the high prices combined with the decreased amount of activities and the huge crowds makes for a less than enjoyable experience. The last time we went was on a weekday and we still had to wait in line for every single activity.
Angela Fish
We had a great time at the exhibit. There were 19 of us and everyone enjoyed it. The staff was great! Thank you for bringing this to Boise!
Heather Whitehead
Went to the Titanic exhibit. It was well laid out and had great details. It did cost us $72.00 for 2 adults and 3 children which I would give 1 star... Way to expensive to view again.
Melissa Robin
INCREDIBLE!! I actually hadn't been here in such a long time I forgot how cool cool of a place that was to learn about science! Even though I wasn't a child I still love doing all the activities! We went when they had the exhibit bodies up and it was so incredible to see what the inside our bodies look like in the different systems we have! I highly recommend that everyone goes here at least once in their life!
Shayna Teti
We came with my niece to see Sue the T-Rex, which I was pretty excited to see as well. Sue was great, and there was some good information for my niece to learn. However, we came in a Saturday so it was packed, which I kind of expected, but we had a hard time getting to use all the little gadgets they had. And the slime, which she was most excited about, was being carried around by a little boy the whole time we were there.
Now, kids will be kids, but sharing is caring and the was a lot of people who weren't actually watching their kids here at all.
I would recommend a visit here for the kiddos but it's going to be a few years before we return again.
Ry Aminal
Fun areas for all ages. The fan-slowed chair drop is quite fun. There only negative would be that most of the electricity experiments are non-functioning.
The biggest tragedy: they have an interactive heat pump where you crank the compressor, you can see the gas state change, and feel the heat/cooling off either side. Such a great display showing a very important piece of technology, and it's relegated to the back hallway near a vending machine and what looks like a freight entrance. Would love to see that thing have some love and put in a place where more kids (and adults) can experience the simplicity of the great heat pump.
Jentry Hull
My 8 and 11 year old children were fascinated! Very much enjoyed the Passport that directly involved them! Great exhibit!
Shaina Lynch
It is a great place to take school kids!
R. Cathleen Hernandez
My daughter loves this place. The older displays have lost their appeal for me after a few visits but she still enjoys them each time. The play area for the youngins is a nice place to spend the afternoon when it's too cold for the park.
Sara Fish
I took 3 of my grandsons to see this exhibition. I’m taking another grandson tomorrow! It was an amazing journey. I highly recommend it. Thanks to the Discovery Center for sponsoring this piece of history for us.
Ethan Mathess
For Boise, this is a good place to let you kids explore for a while if the weather isn't very nice. If you've been to other Science Center's in larger cities then you might be underwhelmed. It's rather expensive for what there is to do (which isn't much). The staff was very friendly and it was clean throughout. Ample parking and they have a nice gift shop.
Christie Carroll
This is a great Boise spot to visit with the kids. We wandered in around noon on a Thursday and were greeted by smiling faces. We paid ($under $35, for one adult and child) and headed inside. We were immediately shocked to see all the cool hands-on activities. Shooting a water bottle rocket in the air, the biggest "light brite" ever, sand topography, a pullie chair, and so much more. Everything was fun and accessible for adults and kids. The weather area was so cool. Especially the huge bubble maker and the shadow picture box. The exhibit on sharks was cool but way more designed for middle/high school kids and adults. So why not 5 stars? Honestly we did everything in about an hour and the price seemed a bit high to me for admission. Secondly, kids running around with no adults and ruining activities for other kids. I normally wouldn't mind except these kids were out of control and actually became a safety concern as they ran and jumped and pushed theri ways around. Several staff members passed them and simply said nothing, but when I asked where the bathrooms were I was given a salty "where the sign that says restroom is". Oh well. Overall a great experience and I will more than likely buy an annual pass as it makes more sense financially with such high admission rates.
Amanda Hamell
Great time. Loved the large little kids are. The forest if pool noodles was a big hit for my littles. My oldest is 3 and we still found enough things for him to do for over 2 hours. Membership is a great deal!
Erin
We love the Discovery Center of Idaho its a great way to get the kids out of the house and expel some energy
Sharona Olsen
Went for a field trip with my daughter's school. There were other schools there, so it was crowded. It made it hard to keep track of our kids. The kids from the other schools were a little older, rude, and didn't wait their turn to use the exhibits. It was a fun place otherwise.
Niki Oquist (OquistStamps)
Very nice science/children's exploring museum
Pitter Patter
Super expensive but a great place for kids!
Malia S
It's pretty much like a zoo! Really fun, go here a lot, most of the time get to see all the animals. A new area was added recently, so it's fun to see that! It has a gift shop too, if you'd like to check it out. Some play equipment for children.
kmagmom
We went on a school holiday and it was packed and not so much fun because of way, WAY too many people. Most of the exhibits were pretty neat if we could get to them. The "Bodys in Motion" exhibit was neat and a little gross all at the same time (per my kids comments). Definitely gears toward the 3rd/4th grade and lower. Not sure we'll be back since the cost to enjoyment ratio isnt quite there for my kids.
Bradd Kordenbrock
Always fun. Some exhibits need updating though. We have a membership and it's very worth the cost because it can be used at MANY other places. My son enjoys it every time we go.
Krystle Nitu
We enjoyed Adult Night at the Discovery Center of Idaho. We met three other couples to enjoy a night of learning while sipping on drinks. Lost Grove and the T-Rex Drinks were awesome! Overall we had a great time and we hope to attend another event soon. I highly recommend it for your next date night in Boise!
James Dorman
Where your two-year-old can roar like a T-Rex! So much fun just amazing place. There is no reason not to come to the Discovery center of Idaho! Make sure you get the family pass it is well worth the money.
Shitsville101
Museums are the best and interactive museums are the bestest. Right now due to covid all the usual interactives have been removed and they have a special walk through exhibit about the Titanic. When you purchase your ticket you are given a ticket to the Titanic with a passenger's information on the back. As you explore, you'll find replicas and actual artifacts recovered from the ship, models, and posters and pictures galore telling you all about the creation and experience aboard the greatest ship ever built. At the end, they have a list of all those who were aboard and whether they lived or died. You can find the name on your ticket from the beginning of the tour and see if your passenger was one of the lucky ones.
Jennifer Thatcher
I visited this place a few years ago and we loved it, but today it was just okay. We did not pay extra for the "Brick" event. My kids love legos so this might have made for a better experience, but we probably won't be back when we are in town next. It's just too small for my kids.
Andy Vawser
I remember visiting this place 25 years ago when I was a kid and wanted to take my kids to it. In my distant memory, I could recall a few things there, but with a quarter century passed I was sure I would not recognize the place. I was wrong. In we walked and all the memories flooded back in. They were good memories, but I was thinking that in 25 years the place should have changed more. The same exhibits are still being used, and some of them are showing their age. A few were basically broken.
The facility is also showing some age and probably could use a new coat of paint. Don't get me wrong, we all had a lot of fun together, but after about an hour or so we had pretty much blasted our way through everything and were ready to go. It was pretty busy that day too, so some exhibits were just hard to spend any time with. My kids are younger, so they don't really have the ability to read signs, and I don't think they grasped many of the concepts behind the experiments. A modern museum would probably have videos at each station (or at least a lot of them) explaining what was going on and what to look for in each one. And then comes the price. Our whole family cost $54 to get in and I really feel like it is overpriced for what you get. After we left, we went to the mall and probably had a lot more fun walking around and looking at things, and it didn't cost us a cent. Like I said, we had fun, but I doubt we'll come back again. My kids can come back in 25 years with their kids and probably have the same experience all over again, and the same worn out equipment will still be in use.
David Bradfield
This place is by far the best place you can go to have fun in the treasure valley. Not only are there tons of activities for children and adults but there's so many things to take up time and to enjoy. If you're ready for a super fun time and to learn some super cool things and to talk to some people who are very passionate about what they do, go check this place out!
Evan Buchanan
Very educational, lots of interactive displays, very friendly staff.
David Ross
Loved this place when I was a kid. Now I'm happy I get to bring my kids here! They've obviously put money into updating it, too.
Dawn Paull
I so enjoyed the Titanic exhibit! The displays were interesting and engaging, really bringing the experience to life. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Amanda Perkins
My daughter is 2 and was charged an outrageous amount for admission. There was not much there for a 2 year old to enjoy except the toddler play area. She enjoyed that part a lot, but the rest was for older kids. I don't feel like toddlers that young should be charged the same as a 12 year old.
Jacklyn Donahue
The membership is the best way to get a bargain to visit the discovery center. The exhibits change often enough that it is a fun place to go to multiple times a year. The area for kids 4 and under is really great to keep small kids entertained and has lots of educational toys.
Randy Tracy
Our family had so much fun here. We never knew that it existed when we lived in Idaho and swung by on our way back from Canada and the northwest US. There are so many interactive exhibits. My family loved the virtual reality sand where you can terriform mountains and lakes. Thank you so much for a wonderful time and science experiments to learn more about the world around us!
Christina Hamlett
As newcomers to Idaho, this was our very first visit to the Discovery Center...but it won't be our last! The multi-media experience of Titanic was artfully crafted and we enjoyed every moment of it.
Israel Rangel
We loved the Titatanic exhibit! Amazing facts, artifacts and stories of survivors. The exhibit specialist Sarah was highly knowledgeable and answered many of our challenging questions.
Anna Pons
We totally love the museum exhibit about the Titanic!!!! All the people working thr exhibit and counter that day were exceptionally friendly and professional. I would like to buy 2 more things from the "momentos of the Titanic". I wish I could without making thr 3.5 hour trip back to Boise to do that. Please vring rhe Titanic exhibit back again!!
Michael Patience
Brought my 6 year old here and spent most of our time in the Bricks section. Lots of fun there with several stations such as air power, water, race cars, music, and just building. There were so many other stations outside Bricks that we could check them all out before he got too tired. Well done! We'll be back.
Melissa Waylan
A wonderful opportunity to see something from world history we don't very often here in Boise. It was interesting to see how pieces earlier in the exhibit were referred back to in later displays. A wonderful sampling that should spark interest in further learning for both kids and adults.
Just wish there had been exhibit related materials on sale in the gift shop.
Sybil Leffler
Fantastic historical exhibit for grandparents to share with grandchildren, easy pace with many artifacts to see and lots of information regarding the ship, the tragic event and the outcome for the passengers who sailed. Receiving a Boarding Pass and finding out whether you survived at the end made it more of a personal experience. Out of our group of six, only one of us survived!
lao ma
Fun for kids I guess, but not really worth the price for what you’re getting. Our two year old was priced the same as our 11 year old, and only the older one got our money’s worth. There’s also an extra $6 charge per person for the “LEGO exhibit”.
I might consider going back...like say if there was an impending Martian invasion and the Discovery Center was the only FEMA approved air raid shelter equipped for extraterrestrial attacks. Otherwise, I’ll just build my own shelter out of my son’s LEGOs - and save the 6 dollars!
Edward Valles
If your child love dinosaurs and your in the area don't forget to give this awesome place a visit !!! Roarrrrrrrrrr !!!
Carol Foster
Staff & volunteers are very informative, helpful w/the children. Lots of school groups 5/29 so it was hard to let kids take the time to experiment w/many of the exhibits.Only complaint I would have is maybe too many kids & it gets very hot and humid in the space Discovery Ctr has.Overall, very educational and again a most helpful, engaged staff.
Bryant Forrester
Great time for all 5 of us at Adult Night. The exhibit was seemingly only half of the previous Human Bodies presentation that we toured a few years ago there though. We were hoping to see certain features that were not there this time.
Harrison Dougal
This place has been around forever and so have some of it's exhibits, but it is still fun to go. The rotating exhibits are interesting. My kids love the small play area and how hands on you can get with the exhibits here.
Fiery Faelight
Went for adult 80's night. Was kind of disappointed they didn't have more. Wish they had the older computers hooked up so people could either play games or explore memories of when they used those computers as kids. Other than what the vendors brought in there really wasn't anything hugely different for the 80's night when compared to normal day business. Other than that the place was fun to revisit since I hadn't been there since I was roughly 26 years, and yes not much has really changed there in 26 years
Beautiful Life
We visited DCI for their King Tut exhibition, since my homeschooled kids just finished a history unit on Ancient Egypt. Super fun experience seeing the replicas of the tomb contents! It really helped the kids bring history to life.
During this time of Covid, DCI did a wonderful job scheduling our visit. The center was not crowded, so the social distancing was super easy to observe. While hands on equipment is stored away right now, there's still plenty to see. There is a Dinosaur exhibit in addition to King Tut, which has many fossils to look at.
We had a wonderful time!
Sandy Hillebrant
Would do five and I know it really isn't the centers problem it was the visitors. I'm an autistic teen and I was stimming and very excited because titanic is my special interest. Everyone was staring and a group of teens kept calling me "the weird spaz over there" and laughing. I wore my autism shirt so people would know. It ruined the whole experience and I about started crying. People needs to be educated about people with disabilities do normal things and not to stare and make comments
Ashley Engelbert
Beautiful display. The kids would have liked more hands on. But it was a good experience to see the bugs and birds.
CJ Retzlaff
The Discovery Center was transformed into another era with mock up sets and numerous photos on how the ship looked. It was a well detailed explanation of the events leading to Titanic's tragedy with many human interest stories added in. Each attendee is given a passenger ticket at the beginning of the exhibit, and able to learn if they survived at the end of the exhibit.
Cassandra Ericksen
Great place to visit! I've been here twice, once with a school group as a chaperone and once more recently on a date with my husband. Both times, staff were very friendly and helpful. Can't wait for our next visit!
Stacy Adams
The Discovery Center has a nice variety of exhibits. The current exhibit, Bricks, is a really great one! My youngest child also enjoys the area designated for young children.
Michael Falvey
It's always a treat for me to take my grandchildren here. I bought a yearly grandparents pass which includes the kids. The Discovery Center has too notch displays and experiments. Every visit I take advantage of the free EV charging.
Kristina Campbell
My girls had so much fun learning and playing
Keith Spring
Spent three and a half hours exploring and learning. It was fantastic! The kids loved it!
Sue
The Titanic exhibit was excellent. We enjoyed walking through, reading, seeing the artifacts, and being immersed in everything Titanic. Great exhibit. Thank you!
Danielle H Larsen
At the beginning of year, we renewed our membership at the Discovery Center of Idaho, and we just went again today. I have 3 kids, ages 8 4 (almost 5) and 2. We had a good time. I feel like there are some very fun yet educational things. And I appreciate the new displays that are popping up at the Discovery Center. LIke I said, I am a member, so I WILL be back, but I also wanted to tell you a few of things I wish were different at the Discovery Center. First, the cute little store that was complete with shopping carts/food/checkstands, etc. is gone. We had tears from my 4 year old when we found out it was not coming back. They do have a preschool area, and it is pretty good, but doesn't quite compare to the store. Also my 4 year old is turning 5 very soon. I feel like the preschool area is still something she would enjoy and would still play well with little kids but in a few days, she won't be able to go in there. I think that through age 5 or maybe even 6 would be better. That makes us a little sad. This is especially the case with the tube/ball display. We have seen this sort of display down in Utah at a few different hands-on museums and wish that the Discovery Center would follow their lead and open it to a larger age group. IT is hard to have to split our kids up for these kind of things. Overall, we love spending a morning at the Discovery Center. We appreciate all the displays, the caring staff, and are looking forward to seeing more built there.
Patrick Kelly
Science is always cool, regardless of your age. They are pretty good about changing things up a bit every few months. Play with really big bubbles, robot arms, and circuits. Whisper across the room, be a floating head on the green screen, there is a ton of cool stuff in here. When you are done you can cross the pedestrian bridge, do the paddle boats, play in the park, feed the geese, and then finish up the day at the zoo.
Ariel Wiggins
I originally put 4 stars by mistake! I absolutely love the Discovery Center. I have been coming here since high school (over 10 years!). I am a massage therapist, and most recently I came here with some other massage therapists for the Bodies Exhibit. So fascinating and a really good way to see all the muscles I work on every day!
Terressa Fackrell
The SLIM ROOM, WAS A BIG HIT. FOR ALL AGES😊😊😊
Jordan Gross
The current slime exhibit is a lot of fun. The discovery center is always a staple of fun for learning in Boise. My only complaint would be that I think some of the exhibits are as old as I am. Would love to see more newer stuff. The Toddler are is a fantastic new addition though!
Heather Collins
Came here with our infant and two 11 year-olds. We had a great time! Enjoyed the H2-whoa exhibit, especially the giant bubble maker and the interactive exhibit that allowed you to dig in sand and add "water"! It projected contour lines and we were able to explain that this feature is typically found on maps!
Susan Bailey Smith
I highly recommend the Titanic exhibit. I learned so much and appreciated the thoughtfulness of the docent at the end of the exhibit as he helped us find out whether we were among the survivors.
Rick Whitten
Exquisite Creatures is a MUST SEE!
Brayden H. Chamberlain
It was a good experience, but right now the attractions are pretty limited. Probably would.be better once more areas are open.
Robert Larson
My granddaughter and both my girls and beautiful wife really enjoy going to the discovery center and if you get the season pass go as much as you want also gets you into other facilities like omsi in Oregon. I learn something new every time we go. Really teaches us about different things we don't think about all the time. Little things that make life so much easier. Highly recommend
Andrew Moore
There was allot for the kids to do and see. Our young family really enjoyed it. They had a number of interactive activities for kids and a good historical fire simulation video. We are considering becoming members.
Robin Boyles
We love bringing our children here so much we bought the year long family pass. There's always hours of fun and the staff is super helpful. Every month there are members only events, and it's a great place the grown ups to have fun too.
Sara Terrell
There is a lot of fun to be had at the Discovery Center. It may not be worth it for a single visit (monetarily) unless there is a cool exhibit available. Family year passes in the 100 dollar range make it worthwhile, especially if you travel as they take part in a reciprocity program. It is frustrating the length of time the entire place closes down (weeks) when swapping exhibits.
Josh Hartley
Great spot to spend 90 minutes with the kids. Perfect for ages 3-10. Go early close to opening time and you'll get to hit all of the exhibits without any wait time at all.
Maggi Spagnolo
The Titanic exhibit was haunting, beautiful, and exceptional. To see the artifacts in person that I had previously seen on video at the bottom of the ocean was phenomenal. The bank note from Gooding, Idaho was especially cool. To think that it came from Gooding, ended up at the bottom of the ocean, and then made it back to Boise, Idaho is surreal.
J B
Fun exhibits...hands on learning. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our battery died in the parking lot and their maintenance guy came out with a booster box.
Kids had a blast
Jennifer Snow
The memberships are well worth it. Pay for themselves in just 2 visits, but you can go as much as you want! Also LOVED Adult Night- the best event I’ve ever been to in Boise!
Sakura Inu
Seeing Sue was awesome!
Aon
We attended the DCI After Dark event to see the Bodies exhibit. The exhibit was neat. There were several bodies in various states of dissection and several individual organs/body parts. The exhibit felt educational and respectful. In addition, St Luke's also had several displays that were interesting; we especially liked the UV light one to check your skin. Lastly, as exciting as the actual event was, it was absolutely awesome to everyone interacting with the Discovery Center's everyday exhibits. I've been to the DCI several times and there were a few new things to play with. Though the event was 21+, the DCI does have a <4 yrs section where younger kids can play if they're not too interested in the other exhibits. I think most people would enjoy a trip here. :)
Andra Peterson
Awesome experience! Our kids loved it! We will definitely be back.
Matilda Tessa
I am not a big fan of such museums, BUT this one changed me and my opinion. I took my little to this place and we were surprised to have such a nice place in our area. Especially with chair pulley, airplane launch and running through the noodles. We will come again for sure when the smallest will grow a little more.
Lauren Schoeck
The toddler area is great! We spend at least an hour in that area every time we go. The current LEGO exhibit is really fun too.
Stephoni Hardman
This was absolutely amazing..... i have studied anything and everything Egyptian for as long as i can remember. This will definitely tide me over till i get to go to Egypt in person.
I took so many pics and videos and am so grateful u were able to bring this beautiful history here. I will be back before it leaves. #longliveTut

Had a fantastic time at adult night. Big Juds burger truck was great and the drink selection was as well with local brews. The theme was fun, the band played good music and the stations were interesting. I would definitely go again and recommend everyone give it a shot.
Deanna Horton
I am the Conference Chair for the Northwest Regional Floodplain Management Association. We held our Wed. Night Networking event at the Discovery Center and we had a blast. My people loved all of the hands on science, they played through out the place, especially in the water LEGO display, had great food from WhateverWorks Catering and awesome service from Jo's Traveling Bar. thank you everyone for a great place to hold a networking event. I would recommend it to any event planner.
Sehara Natural
My 4 years old grandson told me: Nana, that was epic!
We enjoyed a time there, so much to experience! Unfortunately, because of the Covid19 we had to limit our time there. Hopefully soon we will be able to visit again
Karen Swanson
I thought it was a great exhibit....However, I have been the Titanic Experience in Cobh Ireland...Which was more extensive. But so exciting to see the artifacts...Made me so sad though.
Christioher M.
Our experience with this Center is a positive one. They are educating in ways children care about and not the I institution. Our children are of course the antithesis of the future. Despite the price negotiations and the somewhat confusing enlistment we found this to be a very well worth investment. I recommend as we have done for approximately the last decade is buying the annual pass and go enjoy till your hearts content. That being said don't be misled to believ that any of the especially food items available at the lobby for our "CONVENIENCES" aren't marketed for maximum profits. To that end they represent in my opinion closer to the theatre business where 12 ounces of luke warm water will cost more than a coffee shop morning mocha latte foamed glorified caffeinated liquid sugar internally administered "juncky juice!" Shorter, bring your own nibbles and dribbles. You'll pay less at the door admissions then rejuvinations of basic H2O. Anyway enough of that, it's worth every other sort form and function and well worth the money of a child's mind to learn and become as much as they can.
Sarah Farrell
My daughter and I love, love, love the Discovery Center. It's a great place to go spend a day playing around with all the experiments. There's a park just a small Bridge away in case kids get bored or need to use their muscles run around for a bit. It's also right across the street from WinCo and Whole Foods in case you get hungry and need some lunch.
Kayla K.
This place is amazing! So many cool science experiments for the kids and me too! On wed-friday they have a kids learning session. They also have a specialy area foe the smaller kids (my 2yo loves it) and its only $60 for my son and i to get a membership.
Ladonna Bell
It was nice, the kids had s fun time. Not much for older kids
Elizabeth R
Fun for all ages. I recommend getting a family pass if you will go more than once in a year. The pass also gets you in for free or half off at many reciprocal places (i.e. Pacific Science Center in Seattle).
Jeanie Cullip
My family and I went to visit the Titanic Exhibit and had an incredible time. We spent over an hour; reading through the information and viewing the artifacts set up for observation.
Arlyn Cheney
Pretty cool! We wandered around learning so much about birds of prey. My 8 year old grandson said the only boring part was the presentation by a park ranger and the showing of only one live predetor, but I enjoyed it.
Jacob Morris
Fun place for kids and adults to explore the world around them. Our little guy is 16 months and had a blast. Plus it is great to find an entertaining place out of the cold.
D. McCoy
The exhibition was about the Titanic.
Walk through relics and wonderful enlarged photos of the ship, actual life size lifeboat mapped out on the floor!
A must see!
Linda StClare
I thought it was great, but sad. I'm a sensitive person and however thoughtful it was presented you just can't help feel a great since of loss and it was just a sad thing to happen to so many people. I guess the staff had no training on the ship.
Dorthea Glick
We absolutely love some exhibits, but not all are great. Some are wonderful and hands on while others like da vinci and sharks are more museum style so not as fun for kids.
Andrea Prasch
We just had the most delightful birthday party at DCI. Thank you for making Aria's 7th birthday such a success! The kids especially loved running around the center before, after, and during the party. The liquid nitrogen ice cream was definitely a highlight! Thanks again!
Betsy Fulcher
Family-friendly, something for everyone. Great interactive play area for little kids (4 and under). Engaging exhibits for elementary-aged kids through adults. Rotating feature exhibits keep it fresh.
Daynah
I love the Discovery Center of Idaho. Fun activities that I did as a child are still there for my kids to enjoy. I also really appreciate the toddler toys for our younger friends to play with.
Douglas Hoover
Went for the bodies in motion exhibit. Really neat. Always enjoy a visit to the Discovery center as well. Entertaining and engaging for my 7-year-old daughter as well as my wife and I.
Eti redevill
The display was wonderful - the staff very helpful and kind to us. Look forward to future exhibits!
Gage Chittenden
Super fun and entertaining. When I went they had a titanic exhibit and artifacts. I would definitely recommend this place if touring or just to kill time
Beau Smith
Pretty cool place. We saw the titanic and the dinosaur exhibit, they put a ton of time and effort into the titanic, although I never saw the door that dicaprio fell off
Rachel Erickson
This place is really fun and all my kids enjoy it. It can be a little pricey but we bought the year pass and it is worth it! Love when they get a new exhibit.
Janet Snedeger
Went to the Titanic exhibit and it was amazing! Safety protocols in place to make guests feel safe. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Amy Jo Williams
Best to go on a weekday to beat the crowds so you can do more. Love the projected landscapes on sand
Alex Simmonds
Always good rotating exhibits and the good old stand by attractions and learning displays are never dull. Some have been around since I was a child 20+ years ago. Brings back some good memories. Always something to learn and as the name implies...discover.
Sophie 67
The King Tut exhibit was just okay. Nothing to get excited about. You could walk through it in 15 minutes or less. I was expecting a lot more for the price I was charged.
Amberlynn Lane
There was something for each kid, aged 4, 9, and 11. The staff are extra friendly, and the exhibits are fun. This is the second time we have stopped during a road trip just to visit here. Worth a stop!
Hanna Gau
Small museum, but really great for kids. Lots of hands-on fun.
Darlene Power
Always a fun time with grandkids!
Steven Reames
What a fun place to take your children, grandchildren and inquisitive adults! We've done birthday parties here (private room with experiments making ice cream out of CO2 and cream) and other private events. Parking can be a little difficult on busy days.
Kim Lawicki
My kids loved it now my grandchildren love it! We didn't go during covid when they had to take things into the back, but when they can move those back we will take them again
Walbert Schulpen
This is a great place to let your kids play and pick up some science at the same time. We had a blast building a Lego dam and funneling the water over turbines.
Gary Mountain
The Titanic Exhibit was incredible. To see the artifacts with such great explanations was amazing. Another 1st class exhibit at the Discovery Center!
Heidi G
Great place to bring your kids, exhibits are interactive and engaging. I have toddler age and find it a great place to go! I'm sure they'll continue to love it for years.
Laura Loyola
Attended "A Drink with Tink", had a great and fun time! Mostly about the interaction with the toys and tools. Smart to have an adult night with adult beverages and plenty to play with. Hoping for more nights like this one!
Jackson Ferguson
Cool place with a baby area and fun activities. I come here alot! My favorite demonstration is the news camera that can not see green. You can dissapear behind the green curtains! Great staff and clean bathroom. Also a gift shop!
Justen Colton
Awesome place to go for kids and adults. Lots of activities and learning experiences. It is a bit on the pricier side especially since you can do all the activities in under 30 minutes, but still worth the money.
Dan ODonnell
Love taking my kid here. Great exhibits and awesome learning environment that if sun and entertaining. Worth the trip every time!
deanna azer
Some items are unsafe, my daughter fell and hit her face while coming off a platform, that should have had better markings/rails for safety. Shortly after we knoticed that half her front tooth was chipped off. Otherwise center was clean, organized, and entertaining.
M C
This is the place to go if you want an educational experience for your kiddo. It is safe as long as you watch them, the people are friendly and if you come here very often make sure you buy a pass as the admission price otherwise is kind of steep.
Danny Hamilton
Really great place for adults and children. Lots of educational things to read wile the children play on whatever gadget is near. They always have some of the old items that seem to stay forever but a ever changing main focus that keeps the adults interested as well. Please do more adult nights if you could. We went for the trex "Sue" adult night with the brewery powerhaus and boise fry company and it was a blast. Will return...
Johanna M. Jensen
What a fun place to have a birthday party! The kids enjoyed the free time to wander around and explore with their friends, and then the science demonstration that ended in ICE CREAM was a bit hit with the kids and adults too! Thank you!
Bailey Wilkinson
I have been to 3 adult nights so far including Dinosaurs, Human Body and Murder on Myrtle St. Each one has been fun and a great learning experience. Would highly recommend.
Izil Sitruc
Fun seeing Sue!!!
Lorraine gutierrez
I have enjoyed the 2 exhibits I have seen so far. Also it is a lot of fun to interact with some of the displays they have. Even my 5yr old has fun and learns.
Jacob Spencer
Great place to teach and entertain your children. Fun for adults too. If your looking for something different to do for a couple hours on a rainy day, try the discovery center it's pretty cool.
Scott Wilkinson
Enjoyed the Titanic exhibit! Staff were pleasent, and helpful. First rate exhibit, very well done!
Carl McMillin
Great exhibit of Titanic artifacts and history of the magnificent steamer on it's maiden voyage in1912. Highly recommend seeing this special exhibit.
Jed Wilson
It is hard to get kids excited about science when you establish a cost the may eliminate some from the experience.
Debi Barrett
Cool science activities for kids & adults. The chair pulley is a favorite of ours.
Brian
It was fun. The kids had a blast and I enjoyed it as well!
Rani Oakman
Was a great place not very expensive and you can spend hours there doing all kinds of things.
Shylah Eells
Lots of hands-on activities for all ages. Play area in the back for kids under 4.
I used to come here when I was a kid and it is so cool to share that with my son. There's even more awesome stuff there now.
Phalen Perrien
I was so disappointed that they have changed the discovery way back when probably 20 years ago it was way better so much to do and see. I was very disappointed in what was there for the price
Perl Girl
We get a season pass every year. Their displays are well thought out and always changing. It is very educational fun for adults and kid's.
Sara Reinke
An amazing display of the Titanic story. Photos, artifacts, personal stories, with each ticket holder getting an identity. I was a fortunate first class survivor.
d c
Great place for kids, big and small. If the weather isn't stellar outside. Check for programs and events, like young discover's preschool, and daily demonstrations. The biggest advantage of a membership is unlimited admission and ASTC travel passport program. Membership and an email you simply ask them to send you, got us free entrance to some places that would cost more for a one day entry than the whole annual membership cost for DCI.
Hannah Wynn
FAVORITE PLACE IN BOISE!!! I love the Discovery Center so much. They are always trying to bring something new to our community and for that I will always praise them. Our town needs more STEM centered learning and the Discovery Center fills a gap that is so desperately needed.
Catherine Mumm
My kids have always loved DCI. Good place to spend an afternoon and learn through play. I recently went to an Adult Night on a double date and everyone had a great time.
Edward Thompson
The Adults in our group was more entertained with the Lego blocks than the kids. It halarious, I finally went to the car and took a nap, I went back an hour later and they are still playing. 😆 …
Andrea Gulley
An amazing place! I don't exactly like price of admission but I can only imagine the costs of the exhibits so it's worth it. My children love it here.
Sean McNearney
I remember coming here as a young kid on school field trips. Now that I’m older I realize how lucky we are to have such an excellent place to learn and celebrate science. One of Idaho’s best.
Jaida Spruell
Fun interactive venue. The best part of the Discovery Center is the lego room. The children can build and set up in different stations.
bandr sullivan
I don't know what we were expecting but the displays and models were fascinating. Well worth the price of admission and the docents walking around were informative and friendly.
josh larue
The exhibit was really fascinating I really enjoyed that unfortunately the one thing I did not like was went to purchase some souvenir and was told as I'm getting ready to pay that they don't accept cash only card and there's no sign saying card only so I was unable to get a souvenir and since I was from out of town it was a bummer
Ben Moore
Great hands on science center in downtown Boise. A large amount of fixed exhibits with a rotating feature exhibit that changes several times each year. Located next to the park is highly recommended you make a day of your trip and pack a lunch, hit the park and maybe the zoo afterwards.
Beth Dymen
Love it so does my son
Cookie Monster
We purchase an annual family pass here. We love seeing our kids' minds and imaginations excel here. We love the ever changing exhibits and friendly staff.
the flindosmindfurf
They have fun activities. my favorite is the finger shocker. There are many opportunities there. Right next to the discovery center there is a boat dock 10 bucks a half hour to ride in a boat.
Steven Albano
We got in free thanks to partnership with our local museum. Great hands on exhibits. They also brought in a good travelling shark exhibit with life sized models.
Simon Uribe
The Titanic exhibit was incredible and Jen, the guide, was a well of information! Can't wait for the next exhibit!
M B
I love this place. COVID-19 has definitely limited them though. There was really only the Tut exhibit which was so cool but a bit pricey when that was basically it.
Dio Ruiz
It was a great experience
Ray Gordon
Lots of fun to go with kids and stay out of the extreme weather, either the hot summer or cold winter. Tons of activities for kids of all ages and they have rotating displays every few months so there's always something new to see.
Shane Hicks
This was such a fun thing to do! Went and learned some fun facts about animals and some cool hands on science activities! I spent an hour here!
Nathan McClure
They have some great interactive exhibits here. The price is high, though. $18 per adult and $14 per child left me shelling out a c-note for admission.
Emily B
The Titanic exhibit was one of our favorite exhibits in all our years of visiting DCI. It really told a story and was educational but also emotional.
Silvia Peregrina
This place is AWESOME! My friend and I went to the human body exhibt, and it changed our lives!! They only had it there for a limited time, but they have so much more to discover aside from human bodies! Highly recommend for friends, or family ventures!!!
Cristina Gilbert
Kids had a great time. They had a few of the centers that were brown or nearly broken. Most displays were well used. I think they could do with fixing some of them.
Virginia Boaz
I loved the Titanic exhibit. Lots of helpful and informed employees, also. We had a great time.
Kristen Morton
We adore the discovery center. We get an annual pass every year. The kids always have a blast. Fun for all ages!
Dixie Randolph
I'm so glad the Titanic display came to Boise! It was a very interesting exhibit and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
derek sorum
My kids live this place. Right now they have dinosaurs and legos so how can you go wrong? We buy a membership every year because with the sheer number of kids in my family it just makes sense.
Michal Temkin Martinez
Had a wonderful time at Adult Night!! The displays were interactive and fun, the docents were knowledgeable and engaging, and it was just a great something fun to do on a Friday night!!
Katherine Rainey
We love educational interactive museums. There was something for everyone. My older kids were entertained for about an hour.
Daniel Woodruff
Great place to take kids for a nice mentally stimulating activity. We went for the annual membership so we could bring our 2 year old back whenever.
Erni Preciado
The Trex was the best! The paper airplane area was a lot of fun and my airplane flee the farthest and really fast! Making shadows in the dark room was cool!
Olivia Yahr
Very educational and fun, I love the interactive aspect of it and the science explanations behind the exhibits.
Natalie Filbert
Slime camp was a big hit with my 8 year-old!
Stephanie Oliver
Engaging , clean environment . Geared more towards children that are 5 and over . Small play area available for smaller children . Located near Julia Davis , quick walk to picnic .
Yuliya Sagan
Great place for the kids!
Ritter Max Jacobson
Very big with a lot of exhibits. Hands on and great for kids and adults. But since it's hands on it feels a little dirty. Some exhibits don't work but overall it's a lot of fun.
Danielle Ellstrom
I've been coming here since I was a kid. I recently went and saw the bodies exhibit. Very interesting. I was hoping it would be bigger but I still enjoyed it.
