Robert ToombsWe had friends in from out of town on what just happened to be first Friday. The first Friday of each month has free admission from 4-8pm. We really enjoyed walking around and looking at the exhibits. Can't say enough nice things about the staff. One of our friends was on crutches and needed a wheelchair. They have one available on a first come, first serve basis for those in need. Great overall experience.
Google ReviewerExpensive, extremely warm when we went. Air conditioning did not work. The exibits weren't what we were interested in but next ones may be. Freindly Staff and it is very clean.
A BruderliA nice contemporary art museum. Right now, not all the wings are open but we were able to get in on a discounted price. The collection that is available for viewing right now is absolutely lovely. Also, they do require patrons to mask up to visit as of July 28, 2021

Robert MooreIt is a nice relatively small art museum. It had two interesting western themed art exhibits when we visited. One featured the lithographic art of Russell Chatham and the other featured the Ink and Graphite art of Will James. Both were excellent collections well presented. I expected to spend a couple of hours there but felt I'd seen everything after about an hour. We had lunch in the nice little museum CAFE which was also pretty good.

Paula Schuck (Thrifty Mommas Tips)Frankly I was blown away by the Yellowstone Art Museum (YAM), which is built inside the former Yellowstone County Jail. The caliber of the exhibits is very high at the largest contemporary art museum in Montana. This is the kind of museum you could spend hours in easily, learning something new in every gallery. There are exceptional exhibits inside the museum. Not only that, but the docents are extremely professional and informed. I found a lot here that was extremely educational and inspiring. Yellowstone also has a school program that encourages local kids to make art and then it is displayed inside one of the galleries on the lower level. Love that concept because it's smart and nurtures a love of the arts.
