Reviews of SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film
Entrance was 10$/person.
Absolutely recommend it.
Before starting the tour, i recommend scanning the QR code at the entrance, it will show you who wore which dress.
The museum on June 21st had Christian Siriano's collections with dresses worn by Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Celine Dion, Michelle Obama, Oprah... the list goes on.
There was also a very cool exhibition called Face Value by Freehand Profit. You'll find masks (but also a few complete body constructions) made out of sneakers! They all looked incredibly creative and cool.
There is also a merchant store, where you could buy books and fashion items.
I really enjoyed this museum. The price of entry is not bad at all, and they offer so much for you to see. My favorite exhibit was the face value, however, it will be leaving on the 15th of September.
My son had the pleasure of taking part in their summer seminar and it was amazing. SCAD is the perfect place for those with talent to explore, develop and truly be Themselves!
My daughter treated us to the ATL SCAD Fashion location (she is a student on their Savannah campus). We were very impressed with the tour, decor, pictures and information shared! It's a must-see!
This is a beautiful Museum and School. We visited the Ruth E. Carter, Afro-futurism in Costume Design exhibit. The space housed a collection of eight of her iconic film costumes- period pieces, modern and futuristic designs; with sufficient space to walk through comfortably, while maintaining COVID distancing standards. This inspiring exhibit is well worth the out of state visit. SCAD is the perfect location to host such an remarkable body of Artistic talent!
I had an amazing time viewing the Christian Siriano fashion exhibit at SCAD FASH! I was also lucky to get a brief peek at the student work areas of the school...fabulous!
See photos here of intricate flower patterns and bumble bee markings next to Christian Serrano's gorgeous designs are displayed. Loved this exhibit! Went just after my angel trumpets bloomed.. fashion reflecting nature and vice versa indeed. The more bizarre the works of man, particularly this man, Christian ✝️ 😉 the closer to God one feels. Thank you! Oh and this shouldn't be taken as a side note: the masks exhibit also a religious experience! I would have bought any and everything I saw that day! For the record I am not a "religion fan-boy" I would more accurately say spiritual experience but themasses would be turned off and I really think it important themasses pay themoney to see this exhibit in the fleshiest sense.
Beautiful! Loved the exhibits! The masks/hoods were made from sneakers.
Great parking. Friendly staff. Small but marvelous displays. I would highly recommend.
Cool little space, but I didn't realize how small the exhibit was going to be. Walked half an hour from my hotel to get here, couldn't find the entrance (which is only accessible from the parking garage elevator), then the actual exhibit took only a few minutes to walk through. I doubled back and took my time the second time around, but I was still finished quickly. I don't want to convince people not to check it out, but just be aware of the size.
There was just one exhibit of Christian Siriano dresses, but they were beautiful and had a virtual guide with info on each piece. The gift shop has a great selection of fashion books.
The exhibits are always so well done! So beautiful. A hidden treasure. The new infrastructure connecting the dorm building made it easier to bike.
Went to the Museum as we were in town and we are currently exploring SCAD as a potential College destination. The students who were providing the tour were very knowledgeable on the subject matter and pleasant to interact with.
The museum was great. Please follow the very well placed signage and color code to the correct place to park. The museum itself was very nice. The students were helpful and nice. The museum is on top of the SCAD building and have a beautiful green space to sit with a birds eye view of Atlantic Station and the surrounding area.
SCAD's esthetics are BEAUTIFUL, top-notch amenities for the students. However, the newly built dorms are not what I expected...the bedrooms are entirely TOO SMALL for 2 adults!! The new meal plan increases and less meals offered for the money is not appealing. The Cafe in the main bldg has changed to buffet style and the meal cost almost $17 and nothing has changed about meal choices.
Pleasantly surprised by this museum. Certainly worth the visit even for those who do not have a fashion background. Lovely all around.
I'm so glad I visited the museum. It was my first time in Atlanta and first time at the museum. I really enjoyed the opportunity to check up close every little detail of beading, embroidery and intricate designs. The museum team is very friendly and knowledgeable, they provide lots of information on the exhibition pieces. The view of Atlanta was a nice surprise for me!
Seriously my dream school, it was so amazing! Even if you dont have an interest in art visit the campus it is beautiful!
Visited the Horst P. Horst fashion photography exhibit - it was amazing. Great space - thoughtfully curated. I'll be back for the next exhibit.
I went on the to SCAD FASH and took advantage of the free admission thanks to the Second Sunday museum program. I’m glad I went then because I would have been disappointed if I had paid to see one tiny exhibit. The Derrick Adams exhibit was neat, but I really wanted to see the Alaïa pieces and was disappointed that the grand opening for that was the next day. Visitors could pop their head into the Alaïa gallery, but it was still under construction.
I will say that finding the parking garage was a headache, but once I was in, I was able to easily locate the entrance to the museum. The staff that was there that day were very friendly and helpful. I did love the views of Downtown Atlanta and the front of SCAD FASH is really unique. I would love to go again when the main exhibit is fully accessible to the public.
FYI: they do not offer programs or details next to the individual pieces on exhibit. You must refer to their online guide or use one of the iPads they have available to visitors. I heard a few people grumbling about not knowing what they were looking at. Just ask one of the docents for help.
The muesum had a nice assortment of clothing. They had a lounge area that showcased jewelry made by students and a varying selection of memorabilia for purchase. They also have a huge TV with a short video on it that displayed a assortment of SCAD's different talent from video to fashion and beyond. I would have like to seen a little more diversity in the video. The museum is small but filled with wonderful pieces and student helpers that are eager to help. Will be back to view different collections.
“Form & Function Shoe Art” by Chris Francis & “Fashioning Art From Paper” by Isabelle de Borchgrave are the current exhibits on display at SCAD. Both are excellent and worthy of a visit. Admission is $10. Parking is free. The garage is located behind the main building. Drive up to the 4th level of the garage to access the Museum. Be sure to visit the green space with spectacular city views of Atlanta. You can walk up the stairs from the green space straight into the museum or take the elevator to floor M from the parking garage. It was a great way to spend an hour on a gloomy Sunday!
Outstanding Museum! An excellent place to see beautiful art ( collections of high end and unique fashion, sometimes photography exhibits) plus it is staffed with very knowledgeable staff and students that are accessible and answer questions. A truly unique museum experience in a beautiful building. Also probably the most inexpensive museum in Atlanta.
I went to see the Afro futurism exhibit by Ruth E. Carter and it was bomb! I got to see Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther suit and it gave me chills. I loved it!
Interesting place to explore the multifaceted world of fashion. The exhibition 'Fashioning Art from Paper' is as disturbing as mesmerizing, and as a consequence, definitely a must-see.
On the down notes, pedestrian access is rather bad and this museum appears slightly over reliant on smart devices (e.g., no description of the pieces but a kind invitation to access the virtual exhibition to know more).
If you are into art, design, fashion and the like. You might want to stop by SCAD Atl. There is also the main campus in Savannah. You can peruse the Art museum Atlanta's museum focuses on Fashion while Savannah is Art. All art on each campus is student work and they are FANTASTIC! If you are in either area stop by.
Saw Madame Gres exhibit,gorgeous.
SCAD Fash is a great place. I just went to the Christian Siriano exhibit, and it was fabulous - just like every exhibit I've seen there. Those folks do a great job curating their exhibits. There's always a mobile phone exhibit guide with loads of information about each piece. They also have another exhibit right now that has work by an artist who makes decorative mask and sculptures out of high end sneakers. It is just amazing what this guy can do. Go see these exhibits right now! I think they run thru early October 2022.
It was fun. Wish there wete a little more to see but we enjoyed it. Amazing artist. Children 14 and under are free
SCAD fashion Museum is awesome. The current People are People exhibit featuring ball gowns by Christian Siriano is absolutely amazing!!
The Pierre Cardin show was fantastic! Beautiful exhibition space. Relatively small so it’s a perfect morning or afternoon activity.
This museum is a must visit if you enjoy fashion. Always interesting exhibits. I make a point to visit every time I visit Atlanta. The gift shop has cute crafts from students and a wonderful selection of fashion books. Easy and (free!) parking.
Very nice, small museum. Easy to do in an hour. Great parking with a fun view.
Pretty Cool! Following by QR code to see who wore what was cool. Also the Andre Leon Talley dedication in the gift shop was cool. Actual gifts could use some work.
Omg it was so beautiful! Absolutely loved it!! Spent hours and enjoyed every second
Nice day out a little bit different very small Museum the parking is a very small to be sure you're watching carefully when you get close it's easy to miss the entrance but overall it was a very nice and enjoyable
This was an unexpected find that was pretty cool, and I am not a super fashionista. The self guided tour on your phone made it easy to know about each dress. A very unique thing to do in Atlanta.
Really enjoyed this museum. Smaller than I thought it would be, but with the student discount it was super affordable so not a big deal at all. There was also a nice sunny turf terrance with a great view of the city right outside! Easy parking too
My second time there and I enjoy the ease of parking and getting in. The exhibits are always great and worth taking a moment to explore.
Great shoe exhibit. Easy access from Peachtree. Free parking. Friendly staff.
Great place to explore the design features of the clothing related to specific movies.
Breathtaking exhibits and the staff was super friendly.
A great museum filled with an awesome array of costumes and photos! While you’re there, you should also take a photo near the entrance that looks over parts of Atlanta. Definitely worth a visit!
The Ruth Carter exhibit was breath taking and amazing!! Thank you SCAD!!!!
The Fashioning Art From Paper exhibit is extraordinary. The dresses and kimonos are amazing being made out of paper.
The paper dress exhibit was amazing. Well laid out and extremely fascinating.
We came to see Ruth Carter's exhibit and was additionally blessed with Albert Watson's art through a lens. Ruth's talent has been a large part of my childhood as our family bonded over the several movies she provided her skills. SCAD Fashion Museum's staff were super professional and provided great customer service.
Excellent montage. Our guide person was excellent. Well arranged exhibition. Place is so cozy
The museum is very pretty and the fashion exhibit was displayed beautifully. The costumes on display are gorgeous, the attention to detail on every garment was perfect! A graduate of SCAD suggested that we ask for our tour to be conducted by a docent. We learned so much about each costume the movie or TV show it was in, who designed, it who wore it etc. Making our tour even more educational & fun. We cannot wait to see the museums next display! I highly recommend going!
Great exhibits. It is more appreciated when one has seen the movies that are represented prior to arrival. My teenagers enjoyed it but they will be watching all the movies for the first time or again with a new lens (except Dolemite). Social distancing was in full effect with the scheduled ticketing. There were about 10 visitors (including my party of 5) and about 6 students working within the exhibits.
It was good. My daughter's birthday was today. And i know she likes fashion. But we wanted to see more, but it just had one floor to see.
A great experience and awesome tour guide.
Very cool kelidiscope exhibit. The music is slightly odd as it screams every once in a while. The clothing is gorgeous and well explained by the tour guide. The decor is elegant. Only accessible through a parking lot and an elevator but otherwise, very nice.
Lovely little museum. It's only a $5 admission fee if you are a non-SCAD student WITH a student ID, and it's "free" for their students (they're paying tuition, so how free can it be?) Anywho, great place to just look around or take a date. They have a lovely seating area. If I were a student there, I would definitely get some homework done in that corner.
Great view from the top of the parking garage. Exhibits are small but the $5 charge goes to a good cause
Surprisingly wonderful museum hidden inside scad Atlanta
I've gone for the Guo Pei exhibit and Tha Handmaid's Tale and they were both beautiful and engaging.
I have gone to SCADfash a bunch of times in the last few years. The museum is very well done and they always seem to create & curate high quality shows & exhibits there.
It is a little hard to find when you arrive but there's ample free parking and security staff people are plentiful and usually helpful in guiding you up to the museum entrance.
This place has so much to offer and was very inspiring to my two teens that tagged along.
Clean, professional and safe environment. The staff / students were friendly, informative. I had a really nice experience.
Delightful. The exhibits are wonderful.
This has to be my favorite museum in Atlanta. Seeing the Pierre Cardin exhibit was the perfect juxtaposition to the mesmerizing handmaid's tale. I would love to see more film and TV fashion. The work is amazingly detailed and seeing it up close was really once in a lifetime.
This Savannah native had a wonderful experience exploring fashion. Super museum Sunday made it extra special.
Great exhibit. Wonderful interaction with student staff. They answered any questions we had. The exhibit hall is small.. just one big room, but is laid out well. Parking is easy.
We visited the Guo Pei exhibition on a Sunday. It is set up very nicely and the exhibit is stunning. Lots of knowledgeable people to answer questions and a guide you can follow on your phone. I will definitely be back to see what they feature next.
I really enjoyed my visit there, the nice young lady at the front and the young man giving a tour of the clothes at the front was very nice, too.
A must visit!! Amazing exhibits of shoes & paper fashion! We met Nouf who works at the museum & she was a fantastic wealth of knowledge. Will definitely return.
Great exhibitions. Elegant and cool
Great on-going exhibitions and we loved the recent FASHION TO DIE FOR event. Great presenters! Thank you.
It was a great experience. Such a beautiful exhibit. I can't wait to go back to see something new.
Really nice for a fairly small museum. When I went there was a Pierre Cardin exhibit and one of the costumes of The Handmaid's Tale. Staff was very helpful and there's a nice gift shop.
Wonderful Ruth Carter exhibit. Free and easy parking, friendly staff. Great view of Atlanta!
I'm lovin 'it
I Loved the experience, the art and the city view
The museum is small and somewhat oddly designed, as the gift shop is only accessible if you pay the fee and enter the museum, but the exhibits were good.
It was cool but a lot smaller than I thought
The Ruth E. Carter exhibit was fabulous and there was also an Albert Watson photo exhibit there that had some great pieces.
The Christian Siriano showcase was to die for! I love, luv, lov fashion!
The Derrick Adams show is a must see.
I was just visiting but I was treated well. Food court with good food and many types to choose from. The building is decorated nicely and such wonderful art to see from many students. 👌 …
Love this space! The current exhibit is fantastic! The costume design is lovely!
Absolutely one of the most innovative museums I've seen in the world. My favorite. I would go back to Atlanta just to see this again.
I read this all wrong. It's NOT A fish museum. My girls had a great time dragging me through here and I actually learned a few things anyway.
This museum offers beautiful exhibits. Some are different like I've never seen before. Check them out!
Very well done exhibit. It wasn't really my cup of tea but you could tell that a lot if effort went into it.
I always enjoy the exhibits at the museum at SCAD Atlanta
Check it out if you're in to fashion. Small musuem but good exhibits. Free parking
We went to the Oscar de la Renta dress exhibit here, which was great. Parking was easy and convenient.
Interesting art. Very manageable size. The website to follow along added to the experience. The docents were helpful when asked.
Rebecca was a great tour guide everybody was so friendly, I loved it.
Award winning Garments from movies and miniseries on display. Spoiler alert- the garments did use REAL FUR and REAL ostrich feathers.
If you want an interesting museum outing, why not spend some time here? SCAD has a gem.
Excellent showing and details on fashion.
Great information on fashion styles and person's in the fashion industry.

I like scad fashion museum because of the art of students using they're mine and unique waythey create things make you come from a fantasy to realistic I love that as being an artist myself it is great watching these kids develop into the new tomorrow
SCAD FASH was a nice little adventure. The fashion on display was really well presented, and interesting to see.
The only downside was probably the parking garage and elevator. I was so caught off guard by the elevator having floors 0 and -1, it took me a second to realize I needed to go to M to get into the museum.
Phenomenal learning experience!! Enjoyed the gallery immensely!
They changed so much. The food is more inclusive. They care alot about students and their experience. I wish I went to this school during this time.
(Translation) We liked it a lot, there is a huge collection of dresses that celebrities have worn, when scanning the bar code it shows you who they are, it is a comfortable place with dim lighting, my 11-year-old girl did not pay an entrance fee, it was $10 for me

Nos gusto mucho, hay una collection enorme de vestidos que han usado las celebrities, al escanear el codigo de Barra te muestra quienes son, es un lugar comodo con una luz tenue , mi niña de 11 años no pago entrada, por mi fueron $10
