Reviews of Marietta Fire Museum

Although there is no cost to enter and go through the museum, you can make a donation. I've taken my grandson here three times and it's so interesting. The firemen here are so hard-working and friendly and happy to answer questions. A real plus to living in Marietta!
Cam
Lots of cool exhibits to look at and a full history of the Marrietta fire department with pictures.
You have to read through the history wall upstairs to learn about Aurora.
The hours posted on their website are incorrect. Google listed hours are correct.
You can also get a parking garage validation, but I walked from Marietta square.

Must visit this awesome history place and the fireman guys are sooo nice! So good with kids! Thank you so much for taking time to our babies a truck tour

Great for grandkids and grandparents!! Took my toddler with his PopPop and they both loved it!! Right now it's decorated for Christmas!! It's just the right amount of information for all ages. Very clean with natural light! Completely free with parking validation. Kind fireman gave my toddler some fun knickknacks. Great addition to a family day out!

Very well organized and informative. We did a self guided tour. They have a lot of information you can read through. Good for both kids and adults. And oh, they do have a donation box, but it is free to visit the museum.

Review during the covid panemic visit:
The Marietta Fire Museum located within the Marietta fire dept building was very informative.
They are closed during holidays and open other days.
They even offer souvenir items.
Its a good place for families to have a tour with kids for their knowledge and understanding. It'd be fun for kids to visit here.

Great museum for learning the history of the Marietta Fire Department. Plenty of small model fire engine and fire trucks on display and some larger vehicles too. Perfect, quick stop for children who love fire trucks!!
Ashley McClung
Kind of on the small side, but well worth the stop! It is an actual fire house with a musuem! The emergency responders were as friendly as they come. The fire house was very clean, easy to navigate and such a neat activity for my 4 year old.

Wow! The place is not large, but it is packed with interesting exhibits and tons of history. The museum itself is self guided, but on our way out we met some of the firemen who were amazing, and very friendly! They showed us their current engines and equipment and answered our many questions. Support your local emergency responders!

I'm a volunteer firefighter from Ohio and brought my family down to visit the museum. My dad was excited about the museum. Really cool to see how far we've come over the years in firefighting.
George Byram
Small museum with 3 trucks on display and several shelves of memorabilia. It's no Smithsonian, but it's free, well-maintained, and the kids had a great time which is the point.
Marisol Ortiz
It is very interesting. And gives us a glimpse of the firemen's hard and sacrificed work. They even have an area where you can purchase some fun items. Very educational

Really neat museum. The firefighters there were awesome touring us. I definitely recommend checking it out. Will only take about a hour. Lots of interesting pieces.

My toddler is fascinated by fire trucks, so I figured this would be a fun outing. Such an interesting museum - antique fire trucks, displays about Marietta's notable fires and the history of the fire department. And the firemen were so friendly and willing to answer our questions. Definitely worth the trip!

My wife and I are on our Honeymoon. We traveled from Florida on our way to Nashville. We stopped here to enjoy the Museum. Beautiful History. A must visit will in town.

Pretty awesome display, but the firemen made our day when they offered a few minutes out of their day to show us the current trucks and some equipment. Our children were so excited. Thank you gentlemen for your service to the community and caring for the young ones. Absolutely phenomenal.

We had a blast! There is currently a mask requirement and social distancing signs up. Sanitizer stations are available as well. It isn't a large museum but it is packed with amazing history and memorabilia. The artifacts have been kept in pristine condition and the gift options afterwards are high quality and fairly priced. While we visited, several calls came in and we witnessed the speed of the MFD! Thanks for a great day and your civil service!

It is small and somewhat limited, but it has a great staff, easy parking and free access. Great addition to the city and kids love it.

Very thought out & well put together - the chronological timeline of the Marietta Fire Department, spanning the walls of the museum, is quite intriguing. The google photos didn't do this place justice! Thanks to my guide, Steve, I enjoyed not only learning and reading about the history of the FD, but also viewing the historic, tangible materials - making it all the more enriching! Not to mention - the history behind each of the retired fire vehicles is quite fascinating!
Chris Wyatt
Excellent collection of historic firefighting equipment and especially vehicles housed at the main station. Lovely setting, easy parking nearby on the street or in parking garages. It does not take long to see it all, but it is well worth your time for adults and kids.

Interesting and informative Fire Museum of Marietta. Takes about an hour to go through it. The museum is free. If you use the museum parking, be sure to have your ticket validated there in the museum so that your parking will also be free. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

First class museum! The firemen on duty were friendly and one gave our 4 year-old granddaughter some souvenirs.
Brian Hill
We had our Grandkids in for the Holiday and saw this on Facebook Things to do in Marietta. WOW! So very glad we did , the Museum was very inetesting and as well made a great place to get awesome pictures of the kids. After our walk through we came upon Fireman Lee Braswell and he was AMAZING! . he took such time with the kids. He showed them every tool and door on his truck. Let the kids sit in the driver seat and turn on lights and siren (for just a second) I am so impressed with this man. THANK YOU Mr. Braswell the kids cant stop talking about this day.

We had a wonderful time looking around. Lots of old memories brought back. It was great for my children to respect how the old timers did it and where things have evolved to.

FYI the covid hours for this museum are 8:00 AM until 5 PM seven days a week but they are not offering guided tours they’re only offering self guided tours.
My son turned three yesterday and he’s currently obsessed with fire trucks. We opted not to have a party because of Covid so we decided to take him to the fire museum so that he could see all the different types of fire trucks, Firemen’s equipment and learn a little bit of history in the process. While the museum is small, it’s packed with a lot of quality interesting historical fire trucks and memorabilia and my son absolutely loved it. It took us about an hour to see everything that’s in there but I think that’s a perfect amount of time for littles. I’d say it only takes about 30 to 45 minutes to see everything the museum has to offer if you’re there with adults or older children. It’s literally attached to the fire station. You can park across the street in the public parking lot that has hourly parking which only cost us two dollars. Entry is free and you definitely can’t beat free 99!
When we finished we walked next door to the attached fire station and the firemen gave my son a plastic fireman’s hat which he loved and cherished. I would highly recommend this place.

This museum has a wonderful collection of fire fighting equipment and even an engine from 1835! The information covers the history of the area and is well done. There is even a corner dedicated to the emergency people on September 11 and their dedication that awful day. There is no fee, but do take donations. Well worth your time.
Alexa Brannen
Cute little fire museum. The self guided tour is fine but it is a bummer that you can't touch any of the old fire trucks. It's hard to take kids in there and expect that. Nonetheless, a great little museum about fire history. You should go at least once.
Kristina Kell
What a wonderful place! I love the displays and detailed information on the history of fire fighting. You can definitely spend at least an hour here reading a d looking at everything. The people here are also very kind and happy to give insight or answer any questions you may have.
Samantha Kloorfain
I took a class of twelve 4 year old to the museum on a field trip. We scheduled the trip in advance and they provided our class with two tour guides to walk us through the exhibit, share stories, and answer questions. They were amazing guides!
Because of the positive experience with the field trip I soon after brought my daughter (age 4) to the Marietta Fire Museum. She was very excited to get a chance to see the trucks both new and old close up.
The museum is small and so it doesn't take long to walk though which makes it a perfect place to stop at on your trip into the Downtown Marietta area.
Shannon Ryder
Super cool place. I had no clue it was here, we used the parking lot right behind it to run to a few stores and saw someone leaving and figured out what it was. Our toddler was very much enjoying it. Will bring them back!
Paula Rodriguez
