A must stop if you're in the area! We had a blast and we will absolutely be back again the next time we're in town. Philip was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful while we were there. The entry is free but do consider a donation while you are there. We need more great resources like this in the world.
Blair Witkowski
An absolutely fantastic experience. This is a must visit if you are near Hendersonville. So much history and information to learn about. My younger kids loved it and enjoyed sitting in a few mock planes. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and are eager to show you around.
Ed Dyer
Not too out of the way if in the area. Single hanger with a lot in it. Several WW1 replicas among others. The real cool bit is the research library. Free to get in but check for hours as they are very limited since it is operated by volunteer staff. Consider donating and/or purchasing from the gift shop to support the museum.
Loretta Divine
Small air museum with well kept assortment of collectible vintage aircraft.
Keith Gonzales
A lot better than most little aviation museums. They have about a dozen and a half great planes. From vintage biplanes to rare aircraft from the 30's, 40's and on. There stre even a few notable experimental aircraft that stand out. This is a good stop for an hour or several for aviation enthusiasts.
Tina Plants
Awesome place a neat museum!

This place is awesome. It's small on the outside but packs tons of interest on the inside. The gentleman running it was very nice and informative. My 10 year old son loved it! The adults had a great time as well. If in the area definitely worth a visit. Its free but they do except donations to keep the place going.
Karen Pachete
Great display of vintage planes. No entrance fee but donations are accepted.
Adam Beheler
Great experience of history and all around joy. Little brother and sister had a blast as well. All around will come around again.
Zach Ausband
Great place to visit. Friendly volunteers.

Free great place w amazing knowledgeable folks! Donations are greatly appreciated!
Harshal Varpe
I pray that I have the same enthusiasm and passion about my work as the gentleman at this place had.
Entry is free. However, they do take donations. Trust me, you will not leave without donating.
Bill will tell you everything about each aircraft that is there. You will need at least 30-45 minutes there.
If you get the chance, do pay a visit to this museum.

We had such a surprisingly good time here!!! It is much different on the outside than I thought it'd be, but it's FREE (PLEASE donate 🙂) and has so much to look at and learn about. You can sit inside of a jet and it's a really neat experience. Every plane has been flown, except for one.
Virginia Weaver
So much more than expected! I expected a crummy little museum with not much to offer, due to ther fact that I've lived here for years and never heard of it. I couldn't have been more wrong! They have incredible planes to the ceilings, knowledge beyond measure, and incredible kindness toward our residents! I will definitely be back!
Sherry W.
Overall a great experience. I always recommend telling them it is your first time. If it's your first time, a volunteer walks around with you giving details on the exhibits. If you have been there before they are hands off. I personally like the interaction with the volunteers.
Terry Kimsey
Friendly, fun, museum dedicated to the preservation of historical aviation. Great, kid-friendly atmosphere to explore vintage aircraft and replicas from civil and military aviation from WWI thru WWII. Also, a great resource to view photos, documents, equipment and various other memorabilia from the time period. Aircraft on display are changed out periodically. The volunteers are a wealth of knowledge and information. This museum is truly a labor of love.
gabriel cordo
A wonderful experience, very knowledgeable staff, and a great collection. A must see for anyone who likes aviation. Thanks Art!
RICKEY COMPTON
The guidelines was great well informed lots to see. No charge for admission there is a souvenir area. Plane rides available by Appointment.
Rex Butler
Small museum with lots to see. Run by volunteers who love what they do and it shows. Highly recommend!
Edgar Cavazos
It’s small (comparably), but you easily miss some rich displays if you fixate on the planes. It has plenty of historical info amongst the displays. Add the hospitality of the volunteers and this place will occupy you much longer than you’d think. They don’t even try to push you into a donation. Would bring someone over on a repeat trip.
Jon Marr
This a great place with a ton of beautiful aircraft and a very knowledgeable staff!
Ed Plants
Great time here with family viewing the car show & the acft museum. Interesting histories too.
Trouble
Very interesting collection! Make sure you bring some cash. The museum is free but they do accept cash donations!
Happy Tiger
A nice look at private aviation of years gone by...nestled back out if the way, a contribution of your choice gains you admission to a plethora of planes of yesteryear...displays of gouges, old pix and even an impressive library of books to peruse...
C. Mechelle McAl-Grigg
It was a nice small air museum. The gentleman who answered our questions was great with two active boys. You learn alot about WWI-WWII planes. No admission fees just donations.
Rose Dempsey
Another free museum that will enthral those who like old planes and aviation history. Knowledgeable volunteers who are happy to chat. Small gift shop. So glad we stopped by and will be back again
Chris Thompson
Compact Museum but plenty to look at! Very interesting selection of old aircraft plus a lot of other exhibits. Staff and Docents very informative and friendly, would definitely visit again.
Brandi Moser
This place is rich with history and the gentleman was so amazingly knowledgeable. It's free to get in, but it's also a non profit. You should definitely stop in and say hello and take in the history! You won't hesitate to want to leave a donation
Draco Smith
It was a little bit small, but they have a good amount of planes models and replicas to view and take pictures with information about them and their pilots. Bill and Rick were very knowledgeable about the history of them all and their impact. They had a small gift shop their for collectables and little trinkets, however, be warn that they only accept cash, so no credit or debt.
RDC Garage
Really cool planes and a bunch of history. Its free so definitely stop in.
Nicole G
Bill was great and he was passionate about airplanes. The museum is free but donations are welcomed. The museum is a little small but has a great amount of different airplanes. The museum is a little hidden but if you want to go somewhere not a lot of people go, go to this one.
Beverly Hamilton
Much more valuable than it appears. Well staffed with enthusiastic volunteers. Many plane parts and models to see. Full of historical communication and events. Real planes to explore, but not to climb into. Well stocked library. Not easy to find but parking lot was full, with families bringing children.
Kenneth Huck
I found this museum inspirational. I particularly liked the large library currently being organized and put into an online catalog. They also had a new arrival a float plane with the engine on top that had the wings off so I was able to look very closely at the interior of the wings and how they attach to the fuselage. I may contact them and ask how to get involved in the restoration project.
Terry Anders
Great place for the kids and adults to learn about aviation
Dennis Vitolo

ZaSeaDog
OK OK listen to this story, I met a couple of pilots when touring the museum. This probably doesn't seems to out of the ordinary, but they were supper nice and everyone was helpful. I do believe that they worked there, but they took me up in there airplanes, and all I had to do was pay for gas. Just don't go in asking for rides, if they feel you are really into airplanes and that you are passionate they may offer. Just don't go in demanding a ride because you probably won't get one.
Jim Rogers
Bit of a hidden gem. Well worth a visit. Very informative people on hand. Cool to see some older planes up close.
Aaron Dunn (Big Twig Homes)
What a great place to go to learn about aviation and see old planes up close. We have been here three times and will be back again. Thank you to all that took the time to make this museum happen.
Patricia Bickford
Small but wonderful place. Superb volunteers. Our guide was extremely knowledgable. He explained how flight works and the history of the Wright brothers and the advancement of World War 1 planes. He even kept my teenagers engaged.
Albert Krupp
I brought my 10 year old grandson to the WNC Air Museum - he's definitely at that "airplane" age. Frankly, I wasn't expecting much. After all it's a tiny airstrip in a small town, I thought to myself. Wrong! I was blown away by the quality and the breadth of the aircraft on display. It's very obvious that loving and knowledgeable hands have crafted a high quality and worthwhile experience. Great job!
Amanda Noffsinger
The first impression on the outside makes you wonder if there are any planes. But once you walk in you are glad you came! It isn't huge but my husband and 2 year old son loved it! They have a lot of different planes and the gentleman working there had a lot of information. It is free but give a donation.
Joanne Stuart

Fun stop in Hendersonville. My husband is really interested in planes/aviation etc. The staff that work there are very knowledgeable. Each plane has detailed records about the history and production. There are planes from different eras and even a gyrocopter! While it's not a big museum, it is a thorough one. It's a great way to spend an hour or so!
