Had an amazing time here! You'd be able to have a great time even if you're not into Indy 500. As a Formula One fan, I found the whole museum extremely interesting and exciting. Staff was very friendly and informative and even as we were speaking they would mention what would be similar or different between the two racing subjects. Kids had a blast too. There are a few things for the kids in terms of interactive projects or games/videos in one of their rooms, including a couple of karts they are able to sit and imagine themselves driving in! As having two young ones, I wasn't able to go through everything so certainly I will be back, but in all honesty I'd be back anyway as it is such a nice and informative attraction.

If you are a car guy or like motorsports, this is a must see. The people who greet and guide you can tell you interesting stories behind a lot of the displays/ cars. I grew up in Indiana and watched the Unser family on TV. This place was awesome. You can donate 100 dollars and get your name on a brick out front of the museum.

Went to the Unser Racing Museum with the family for the first time. Everyone enjoyed seeing the cars and trophies. They have a room for kids with hands-on activities. Staff was very friendly and informative.

Entrance is $10, employees are friendly and helpful. Museum is not huge, but it has a lot of item, cars and motorbikes. There are two building, whole tour takes about 30-60min, depends on your pace.

Very nice museum a must if in Albuquerque! Hate that they are no longer a racing family. But this museum has lots of items from their family and some items on loan. I would suggest at least 3 hours to see as much as possible. I shared a few photos but did not want to totally spoil a trip

This place has so much history. It is so interactive that you can't help but learn as you emerse your self in the entire world of racing. From the tires to various cars from Nascar and formula 1 cars it is very enjoyable 😉 👍 👌. I recommend everyone go here especially with your kids . Also lightning McQueen and Mater in the front parking lot welcome you as you enter they put a smile 😃 😊 on your face.

If Indy car legends could have their own “presidential library,” this is what it would be. A must visit museum for Indy car fans showcasing the entire Unser family from their beginnings at pikes peak to historic success at Indianapolis. It was a treat to have their tour guide and historian Tom walk around with us telling stories of the exhibits.

Always wanted to visit the Unser Racing museum. I grew up around the Indianapolis 500 track! The Unsers were always amazing with their professionalism and race wins. The receptionist at the entry was really amazing and helpful. There are two buildings that include race cars and great art work and tons of racing items. If you like racing history, this is something to put on the bucket list.

Nice small local museum with cool cars and a few motorcycles. Went with our cubscout pack to get them excited about pinewood derby time. Was a hit with a bunch of kids under 10. Adults all had fun even the parents that didn't care about cars or racing.

The sun faded flags out front hide a quiet kept jewel - well designed displays and helpful staff. The 1970 442 was a good example: it is still shod in the obviously custom Firestone rubber for pacing duty! As an Albuquerque resident I noted a lack of dust inside - quite the trick here...

I went yesterday and all I can say is that I am impressed at all the stuff they had on display, they had race cars from almost every racing series I can think of. The only thing I think they should change is adding ropes around the more expensive cars because I saw some small kids climbing on them and touching the bodies of the cars. Other then that, I had a smile under my mask my the entire time I was in both buildings. I would definitely come back here if I didn't live out of state also I was asked there how much I would rate it out of 10 and I quickly chose 7 just to say something and I felt so bad after I said that, I would give it at least a 9 because some of the interactive stuff in the room to the left of the entrance weren't on. Other than that I fully recommend going here!

The racing museum caught me off guard. It's unassuming on the outside, but an amazing museum on the inside. See race cars, motorcycles, model T ford's, and so much more. All interwoven with the Unser family story. I'm not a huge racing fan, and even I was really interested in it once I went in!

I was very impressed with the exhibits and historic information. The Unser achievements are certainly impressive. The staff were very friendly. I imagined I would be there about one hour, but ended up staying for at least two or three hours. Since I was traveling, I took a lot of photos, especially of the signage and things I didn't expect to see in the museum, so I had more to discover on my phone during my journey over the next couple days. I thought it was a great way to spend part of my time in Albuquerque.

The Unser Racing Museum is open and waiting to for you. The friendly volunteer staff is very knowledgeable and will to answer all your questions. There are 2 building covering the entire history of Unser Racing. A must see.

Found this by luck on a guys road trip. Very cool place. Found out that I didn't know a lot about the Unser family. If you are a fan of cars and racing, you'll love it! Make sure you go to the second building.

If you make it to Albuquerque, this place is a little gem for race car history! My son and nephew had a blast looking at all the different cars... we went at 2:30pm, they close at 4... but we had a personal tour and it was worth it! I recommend this place for families... and if there's a Groupon discount, all the better!!!

The guides were so helpful!! They even had my kids do a scavenger hunt to keep them interested so my friend and I could enjoy all the history. They knew so much history about all the pieces in the museum and even took the time to answer every question my kids asked. I loved the experience and will be going back again soon!!!

Such a cool little museum that tells the story of the Unser family of racers and showcases racing in general. The building design is cool and the cars are amazing to see. My kids enjoyed it as well and were able to get close to the cars and no one complained about them. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and seem to enjoy what they do. The day we went we were able to meet Big Al himself.

Randomly stopped in after seeing it advertised on a billboard along the interstate. And glad we did! The Unser family has been racing for generations, and the museum does an excellent job of telling their story. Two buildings worth of cars and memorabilia warrant more time than we had to spend. And, the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable.

The Museum is very well done and put together. It has a lot of items. Definitely make sure you go over the annex area to check out some of the cars and trophies there. Overall very good. The museum has a "no touch" policy so much make sure to watch little kids if you bring them. Overall good experience.

Clean, informative, absolutely PACKED with interesting cars, gear and memorabilia. The docents I interacted with were knowledgeable and polite. Every single item on display (and there is a TON of it) has an informational placard or video display to watch explaining what it is. The videos played in the kiosks and in the mini theatres are well produced and informative. I went here on a lark and absolutely loved every second of it. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Definitely worth a visit. I’m not a racing fan, but this was a very accessible and entertaining for my family and I. The restored vehicles were my personal favorite, but there were some fun interactive displays that my 6 yo gravitated to because, you know, screens. Plan to spend 2 hours max here; it’s not huge. Just an interesting tribute to a very successful family.

Really nice museum. . Really informative. A lot of info on the user family racing lineage. . I really liked Jerry's garage section with all the old tools and equipment. . The jacket that mom a user cut in half and sowed back together in order not to favor one son over the other is classic. . The racing simulator was really fun my nephew and I both took first place .on our runs..I challenge anybody to try it its challenging. I'll definitely be back. ... .. it would be cool if they could have a video game arcade with nothing but racing games..

Carol did a great job with an overview of the place and it really helped us understand the significance of what we saw at the museum. Great collection of antique cars! 3/20/19 visit. Once the staff saw the 3 year old with us, it was strongly suggested that “this is a museum” and that the kid “shouldn’t run around touching”. Well, DUH, what else would we do there, party? So, the docent kept an eagle eye on us. Our enthusiasm diminished and we stayed 30 minutes. Even bought a $5.00+ tax ($5.36) old die cast car from gift shop and it shattered 10 minutes later on the floor. I asked if we could get another one or my money back and was told “it’s your fault” and “we don’t do that”. For a little 3 year old kid COME ON! I wonder if the Unser Family would approve of denying a child a TOY CAR?! I told the clerk that I didn’t agree with her decision and that the Museum staff helped to make our visit a disappointment. Bummer deal and I will only go back ever if it’s free admission. It’s a nice, clean museum that would’ve probably been informative and interesting, but don’t go if you have little kids. The high admission fee doesn’t even out the awkwardness or rude behavior of the staff.

I'm not sure what I expected when I decided to take my teenage nephew here but whatever it was, my expectations were exceeded. This place is fascinating. The people working here are personable and informative offering personal tours throughout the museum. It is now firmly implanted in my go to list of places to take visiting guests.

FIRST CLASS! I saw my first Indianapolis 500 in 1963 and have been going back every year since. The Unser family is iconic to the history of IMS as well as Pikes Peak. This collection is on a par with the Speedway museum! It’s really that good! I’ve had occasion to meet all three Unsers thru the years. Always so kind to the fans. My only regret on this day was that Big Al was out of town, so didn’t get to see him. The staff walked around with me and I told them stories about cars and races they hadn’t heard before! They wanted to hire me as a guide! So fun. Great gift shop for the real Unser fans. JUST DO IT! I’ll be back to have coffee with Big Al!!!!!!

I have lived in Albuquerque much longer than this museum has been open and only now went for a visit. Lots of cool racing cars, vintage cars, motorcycles, equipment, memorabilia, and history of the Unser racing family and their legacy. Well worth a visit. Five stars if I were a bigger racing fan.

We went with family including an 8yo and a 1yo. The staff was very pleasant and informative. They have a kids' interactive area which was fun and 2 cars small enough for them, for a photo op (yes it's allowed!!). The other building was a no touching zone, but we didn't feel like anyone was rude or over bearing (like we had read from previous reviews, keep in mind it's not explora!). I would recommend parents with rambunctious children to maybe avoid that building if they aren't good rule follwers. It was quite an enjoyable time and we spent well over 2 hours checking out the exhibits! They offer military discount as well

Happened by on our trip to Albuquerque. A lot of good information, vehicles and other items from the Unser family. I'm not a huge racing fan, but I found this place informative and entertaining. However, our tour guide was lacking in hospitality. His attitude was the equivalent of, "Get off my lawn, you damn kids!" even though we're adults in our late thirties. He kind of ruined the experience by acting like everyone was a child with a lollypop in one hand and a can of spray paint in the other. Barring that, the museum offers a glimpse into the guts and ingenuity that goes into racing. I recommend it--just ignore the tour guide.

You don't have to be a race fan to appreciate this museum. Lots a cool race cars, awards, engines, and gear. Had a great time checking out the cars. Al Unser Jr. walked through while I was there, but I gave him his space and didn't bother him.

I took my teenagers to this museum and it was very interesting. You don't have to be a car racing fan to appreciate it. Make sure to watch the movie by the yellow race car in the middle of the museum (great story!). Use a Groupon to make it even more worth it!

Got there 2 hours before closing, were able to see everything, learn the history of the Unser family, get close to the cars and other items. *Might* have gone past closing, need to go back for the gift shop. A real highlight to visiting Albuquerque.

Very informative and educational. Great how u can take it at your own pace and the intro the girls give is pretty good. Only giving 4 stars cause they are way to sensitive about the video game. Should let me pay to do as many laps as I want and lemme play it how I want. I like to think I'm adult enough to not break a toy at a museum pff.

Pretty awesome little museum. I’m an Indycar fan but the museum had much more to it than just that: tons of historic cars, Pikes Peak winners, Pace Cars, motorcycles, etc. Spent about 1.5 hours there. Worth checking out for sure.

I travel a lot on business and have seen many of the auto collections and museums across the United States...this one ranks right up there with the BEST! Lighting when displaying cars is so critical to the overall display...the lighting here is VERY well done and the cars look GREAT! The staff was absolutely TERRIFIC! I wanted to purchase a helmet signed by both Al Sr and Al Jr and the staff searched through their stock in the back room until they found one signed by both and then they arranged to ship it for me back to my home in New York...now that's customer service! The Unser's are a GREAT American family and this museum serves their legacy well...a must go for all race fans!

Really cool self-guided museum of one of America's legendary racing families. Loved being able to get up and close to their actual racecars and personal car collection! However if you bring small children be sure to steer clear of Dorothy, she made it very apparent she doesn't like dealing with them - or maybe that just the limit of her customer service. But take the time to seek out Tom; he was absolutely great with the kids and took the time to show them some details of the exhibits you might otherwise overlook.

I liked it a very much! Unser family race cars. Family car collection cars. Many engines with explanations. History of individual races. Archives behind glass walls of trophies, rings, helmets and driving suits. Most of the cars are not behind ropes...you can get within inches. Everything is spotless, well maintained and professionally displayed. Staff is friendly and knows about most of the cars...and tells you when they don't know. Two buildings. I think the collections just overflowed into their office building. If you are interested in Indy, Sprint or Pikes cars you could spend 3 hours here. There are also some antiques from the Unser's/friends private collection.

I thoroughly enjoyed this museum. There are many cars motorcycles and other vehicles on display. There is a lot of history on the Unser family and how they helped mold the world of Motorsports into what it is today. Great place for adults and children alike!

Nice collection of restored antique cars that the family restored. Also have 4 or 5 of the different race cars that the Unser brothers drove in the Indy 500 races. Have a number of the different driving suits and trophies that they won. They have a section on the early motorcycle races they started up on top of Piles Peak! The brothers were very competitive against each other and others. One of the Unser brothers won every race! It's a interesting place to go to, especially if you are into car racing. Check Groupon for discounts on admission. But I think I pd 6.00 for senior admission.

The Unser Racing Museum is a must see for car fans. I enjoyed the cars, engines and the staff was very helpful in explaining the high points of the displays. I would go back again if in the area. There are Indy cars, Pikes Peak cars, Pace Cars and personal car collections. There are also some interesting motorcycles and go carts. Well worth seeing and well displayed with many videos about the races won in each car.

Was a nice experience. However when paying for admissions, I was expecting to pay more, which was great! I told the ladies that "the website said kids were $6, just letting you know". One of the ladies was rude, saying " well thats too bad, thats not the price, I guess Ill talk to the boss." Not great customer service.

Decent museum. Small but well organized and displayed. Bit pricey tickets but can see it once if you have some extra time in Albuquerque. Well displayed, its about Unser family racing exploits.

If you are a race fan this place is amazing. There's a lot more here than you would expect. Besides Unser's racing cars there's also a supercharged Duesenberg one of only a few left. Take the time make the stop won't regret it. the cars show 4 generations of Unser's history..I forget the price but I remember that it was a lot less than I guessed

It's pretty cool place. Try and get tickets on groupon. They keep it very clean and are very open with the cars. You can get up close but can't touch. Activities for the kids. Wouldn't take kids under say 7.

I took an 8yr and 2yr and they had a fabulous time! The older one actually stopped and read all the signs. He has now decided to be a racecar driver when he grows up, lol. Mr. Cliff was so patient answering all of his hundred questions. Both boys would not stop talking about how much fun they had the 25min drive home!!!!

This museum is a time machine in itself. I remember quite well the Unsers winning at Indy and Pikes Peak. This is easily my favorite attraction in Albuquerque. It's not just a museum. It's also a school for kids with special needs. I was given a grand tour by Janet DeVesty. Careful guys, before you go in here acting like your the last word in vintage motorsports be aware that Ms. DeVesty is too. Many thanks to Al, Susan and Janet. What a great place!! New Mexico Proud.

Awesome museum! All the employees are super friendly and the museum itself was beautifully laid out. Could easily have spent a few hours there, reading all the history and checking out all the cars. Remember there are 2 buildings! Highly recommend even if you are not into racing, I will definitely be back so I can really check everything out. I was only able to stop by for an hour and it wasn’t enough time!

The vehicles are impeccable, the staff attends you and explains super well (there are no Spanish speakers). You always have to ask to be given access to the second building of the museum, it is a garage where the coolest cars are. The gift area has cool things, although somewhat expensive.
