From the very beginning starting with getting the quote to the packing then loading and three years of storage to finally the unload this was the BEST moving experience out of 20 moves that we have EVER had!!!!!

Alyssa was awesome explaining and including me in the entire move in process! I was impressed with the hard work of all the employees including Alyssa, Jake, Bryan, Chris, Ron, and Cauy! Each person was respectful of my belongings and was extremely careful with my walls and flooring when they brought everything into the house. Highly recommend. This was my first time ever to use a professional moving company. I try many, but I found this one! I knew that I will definitely use them. From my first email requesting for a quote to a survey video call. From the wonderful and professional Crew loading up the truck to loading off. There was not a second I was worried about anything. This crew did an awesome job. Howard and Alyssa were incredible during the loading/moving/unloading process. They were fun to work with, professional, and efficient. Jose, was the lead, and after moving 12 times in the last 20 years I can honestly say this was the best move experience. Jose was on time, organized, professional, and took better care of our furniture and possessions than we would have. Furniture was wrapped in moving blankets to ensure no damage was done (without asking). Boxes were packed with ample padding, labeled with every item inside. Furthermore Jose led the team to pack everything in a day, and then loaded everything the next day. I wish every move could be the same experience.

Moving family out of state and we were in a crunch. Thomas transfer got it done and faster than anticipated, these guys worked fast and did a great job packing all the items carefully. We have moved three times and have seen some bad movers, these guys know what they are doing! Highly recommended

Brian, Don, Alex and Christian were incredible and saved our move. They worked so hard and fast it blew us away, were entirely polite and professional. Brian's people skills are above and beyond. He put in an extra day with us to make sure our furniture was assembled and placed correctly. Ours was a very large out of state move. The company sent their largest truck and ended up with another box truck besides. On the morning of our scheduled delivery, only the small box truck showed up. The large truck had broken down 3 hours away and due to the age and size of the truck it was difficult to find parts for repair. They ended up bringing in a smaller truck and off loading half of our stuff and getting it here 3 days after scheduling. These four men worked like maniacs, unloaded in a day and turned around and drove back for the second load. They came back with the remainder of our stuff on the 4 th day. It took that day to unload and there was no time left to reassemble our furniture or place it correctly. My husband and I could see they were going to not have enough time as they were scheduled to be at another job hundreds of miles away the next day. The guys offered to stay up all night finishing so they could keep their schedule, but we were exhausted and just couldn't go any more. We were overwhelmed by the size of the mess we were in and had been sleeping on mattresses on the floor for a week. This is hard for us as older folks with joints that don't work. We were not happy at all that the contract said that our furniture would be reassembled and our home would be staged the way we wanted it. We didn't expect details, but the big pieces needed to be put into place and our furniture should not be left as piles of sticks with a box of hardware and us to try to figure it out. Another part of the contract was for all items and boxes to receive an inventory tag when loaded , which would be checked off when the truck was unloaded to make sure everything arrived. The stickers went on but there was no inventory person at the arrival to check off the inventory sheet. It was explained to us that if they tried to do that it would cost us an extra day of delivery. So it never happened. We were extremely disappointed that the original team who packed us went on to the next job and did not show up as promised, sending half a crew to do our job. We are however thrilled with the performance and attitude of the four young men who did serve us here. Even though Brian's boss was reprimanding him over the phone for not just dumping everything at our house and moving on, Brian and the team took responsibility and finished our job, putting customer service as their priority. There are a few things missing, and Brian has promised to go back to the first truck to look for them. We went through more of an ordeal than was necessary. If the company had sent two trucks with a full crew immediately when the original truck broke down things would have progressed more smoothly and my husband would not be taking an extra week off from his new job to deal with all this. We liked all of the packing team , and felt like the packing was fast but very disorganized. Like things were not packed together. For example, we had all our pan lids in the first truck but no pans. The griddle surface but no heating element. Not having everything delivered at once made it very confusing. We feel that the company was remiss in sending only four guys to do such a huge job. Although they never by word or action passed on even a hint of complaint, we could not help but notice that it took 11 people to do our original load, and asking 4 men to do all this work was unfair to them. They worked around the clock. Brian, Don, Alex and Christian were FREAKING AWESOME! Not only did they work like beasts, they calmed and took care of two people who were worn out and trying not to flip our lids at all the stress and chaos. To all of our credit, no lids were flipped. Thank you guys for all your hard work and positive attitudes! They all deserve large raises!

Incredibly professional and accommodating. My non-temporary storage was quickly put together due to rushed orders overseas. Due to this, Thomas Transfer and Storage was requested to come all the way to New Mexico to assist. I had about a week’s notice and was very stressed with this PCS. They were so reassuring, kind, and explained every process. They were also incredibly efficient. This is my 6th military move and I hope I can request them in the future. I’m disappointed they’re not the ones sending my items overseas.

My team consisted of: Christian, Teresa and Cindy; all of whom were very professional and dedicated to getting the job done. Packers: Stephanie, Mary and Haley went way beyond my expectations. They carefully packed my items and marked the boxes clearly. They also checked with me to make sure I didn’t forget anything and even pointed out some that I would have forgotten. But it was more than that. They were pleasant, courteous and helpful and worked VERY HARD! They made sure my items were carefully handled. Loaders: Austin, Brad and Teresa. We had some difficult items to be moved and they padded my furniture and even my doorways so nothing got damaged. They were polite and cheerful and extra careful with everything. They too worked very hard. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Cindy’s team of Chanel and Debby took care of EVERYTHING. They were not only meticulous, and packed our things with great care, they are good people. The moving team of Cristian, James, Brad, Eric and AJ were professional, incredibly courteous and quick. They, too, took amazing care of our things and wrapped everything so no damage is done. No one likes the actual packing and moving part of their journey, but I enjoyed my time with all of them, and they made things EASY for me. Would recommend them to anyone, and would absolutely hire them again.

The experience was top notch. Starting with Brian Butcher’s solid planning and attentiveness, to Ben/Nicole and their moving team... Ben communicated when they were to arrive at pickup and the next day for unloading. They took care of every step of the process... ensuring all the moved items were placed in the right spots with care. Recommend them for sure.

This team was pretty good. We had the driver Dan DuBree and his team. They called the night before to let us know what time they would arrive and were on time. They were very careful with our items and packed them very well. They seemed to have done much better than other movers. The only problem (and the reason I docked them a star) I encountered was that at the end of the pick up they showed us the inventory sheet and every piece of furniture was marked scratched, dented and rubbed. Some even marked chipped and gouged. Our furniture is not new but generally well taken care of. If there are scratches, rubs and dents, they are very minor but I worry that the company won't pay for repair if they add more significant scratches, rubs and dents based on the inventory. I wish Dan had mentioned the damage he saw as he went along doing the inventory so we could have snapped pictures to prove condition.

We recently used Thomas Transfer & Storage to help our company move locations in the Wichita area. We have a total of 60 staff members not a small task if i say so myself. This company made it unbelievably the smoothest transition I've ever encountered. We were all under extreme pressure and very stressed with planing and preparation. We interviewed 4 companies to see which company seemed right for us. Thomas Transfer had a list of companies that they had moved within the Wichita area which was very impressive to say the least! They also informed us on items they could supply to make packing and moving easier. On the 1st day of our move we were greated by the crew who was nothing but generous caring and unbelievably happy to help us. They went above and beyond all expectations we had. No matter what happend through out the move they always had a smile. Thomas Transfer & Storage made our office move a complete success. Our move was from Wichita to Lawrence KS. Skyler, Galen, JJ and Bryan were an excellent team. Polite, friendly, efficient and professional. The team arrived at the appointed time. After a quick walk through the home, the team began installing protection on the wood, carpet and tile floors, on the stair rails, wall corners and doors. JJ and Bryan did an excellent job in wrapping the furniture for the move and protection. They went above and beyond in loading all the items that we had hoped would be on the truck including outdoor furniture, large ceramic pots and tools. We were very pleased. The next day the furniture was delivered to our Lawrence Home. Again, the Team and Truck arrived as scheduled. The unloading went smoothly and efficiently. Have already recommended Thomas Transfer & Storage Co. to two other families. I would recommend Skyler and his team to anyone considering moving.

Great experience. If you're using Thomas Transfer & Storage, you need to ask for the Howard Omstead crew. I've moved nine times, and they were without a doubt the best movers I've ever had. My wife arrived after the packing had begun, and she immediately noticed that this crew was 'different.' The best move in any of the last 9 moves of my military career. Packing was excellent , loading was professional and I did very little to help. I'm picky about how others handle my stuff and I didn't have to worry at all. Never had that kind of an experience with movers. Great job and appreciate the help!

Have enlisted the Thomas organization twice in past years, and have nothing but good things to say about them. They quoted a fair price, arrived on time, with a large enough crew and truck to do the job. They also had the correct tools and supplies, and get this, they used them! It took them a little longer, but they wrapped and protected furniture and appliances. Were careful manuevering around the house, using carpet covers to move things inside, on clean dollies, with clean tires. The crew of young men were absolutely great! Very courteous, respectful, and offered to do more than what we asked. They were just very hard workers, worked a long day, and were just as nice at the end of the day, as when they started. Great attitudes! Adfitionally, on the admin side, we had excellent written and oral communication with the Thomas office people. Upon accepting their bid they supplied us with an ample supply of packing boxes of all sizes. These boxes alone would have cost us $100s of dollars to go out and buy separately. To make a short story long, I have nothing but good things to say about Thomas Transfer and Storage. We got a great service at a fair price.

Thomas Transfer is an exceptional moving company. Brian Butcher, the sales representative was more than professional. He was prompt, precise and accurate with our appointment and his quote. The loaders were just as professional. They took extra precautionary measures to make sure items were packed securely and well protected. They explained how the moving process would take place from point A to point B and where items would be stored until moving day. The unloaders did an unbelievable job! I say this because they had to wallk a short distance from the truck, through a parking garage then up an elevator. They placed all items where instructed and assembled things. They were diligent about inspecting all pieces of furniture, making sure nothing was damaged. They were more than polite and courteous. My husband was so impressed that he generously tipped them! In summary, I wouldn't hesitate to use Thomas Transfer again!

Amazing, friendly, and very attentive staff. Moved our entire facility to new location. Very helpful, willing to adjust items after (!) they were placed in offices to the tenants preference. Bennie and Nix were onsite the whole time, followed up with staff, and even treated us to lunch. Would hire again and again and again. And next time, I'm buying lunch!

if you’re are doing research for a moving company, and are reading reviews. Cody & Adam Crowner are the 2 best movers i have meet in all my moves. my extended family has had horror stories from mayflower and other moving companies in america. but with all of the questions and proactive things i could think of doing. i still ran into the worst moving experience i could possibly imagine. and the movers held our stuff hostage for over a week. and then held any form of compensation back. but the real heroes in this story is Cody & Adam Crowner of Thomas united van lines and the exceptional service of the wichita division of united van lines. i have nothing but good things to say. these guys successfully negotiated the safe delivery of all my items being held hostage by the prior moving company. in the future if i move again i will use Thomas united van lines and make a request to have Cody & Adam Crowner as my movers if available. good job guys 100% satisfied and outstanding attitude and careful handling of breakable items.
