Excellent all around! I have been using Liffey for many moves over the years. My father, boss and his parents, also used Liffey. The office staff was extremely nice and accommodating. I’ve moved from/to co-op buildings in the city with many rules and insurance requirements and Liffey was approved by various boards in minutes. The movers work fast and took excellent care of my furniture and boxes, and could not have been nicer. The precision in placement of furniture was better then what I could have done. I highly recommend Liffey, they are worth ever penny!

Highly recommend! The best moving experience I’ve ever had, and this was an interstate move during a snow storm! Luis and his crew were amazing and impressive - professional, precise, organized, friendly and polite. A good-natured team that worked so well together without stress or a moment wasted. My experience with Liffey Van Lines was fantastic, I highly recommend their services. Liffey is organized, professional, and trustworthy. My experience with Jim, Director of Sales, was excellent. He quoted a reasonable price, assured me the move would be completed in one day, and supplied me with the correct number of men on moving day. He was absolutely right, the move was seamless. Taylor led Operations. She understood the stressors of packing and moving, and was always helpful in accommodating a change in move date. The Moving team, led by Kelvin (Foreman), Samuel, Javier, and Jorge, were incredible. The team were efficient, careful with all items large and small, wrapped everything in either bubble wrap or paper, and were an absolute pleasure. A great team of men, who have a lot of experience and knowledge on how to execute a move. They made the whole experience stress free. Liffey is now my forever movers. We had a tremendous experience moving with Liffey. Kelvin and his team were friendly, quick and professional. They took exceptional care of our things and were positive and encouraging through the entire process. They followed rules and procedures to the letter at the old and new building. The office staff was helpful and responsive. There were no upcharges on moving day as I’ve heard about other companies. We used them to pack the kitchen but they jumped in on so much more: coat closet, office space, etc. They disassembled and reassembled beds, glass dining table, shelving, all without a hitch. Their price was reasonable and more than competitive with the other quotes we got. We HIGHLY recommend Liffey.

We had two moves in last few months—first a move out of a NYC 3 BR co-op to the Hudson Valley. Then a move for our son back to NYC into a 1 BR apt. All four segments were handled very well by the two crews. The first move was led by Nick, the second was led by Luis. All the movers were professional, courteous, careful, and friendly. Getting estimates for the moves was efficient and prices are reasonable. Obtaining the COI and other documents that nyc co-ops require was smooth, and the office employees called to confirm move times and called to check on the move afterwards. In all, very good experiences. I highly recommend Liffey for a big or a small move.

As an international executive I have lots of experience moving and therefore have worked with several movers around the world. Liffey was the best firm I have ever worked with. Extremely responsive, very polite (important for me), they were understanding when my landlord kept changing the move in date and finally on the day I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. The crew were super lovely, very engaging (even with my visiting elderly mother), through out the day were always smiling and positive! Don’t look anywhere these guys are the best you will find in New York and the world. PS. Expats I highly recommend them for your repatriation.

I used Liffey to pack my apartment while I did some renovation/construction and then used them to unpack weeks later. They were so fast at packing up, it was almost depressing how quickly they could deconstruct and pack up my whole life. Some of the bigger/taller furniture was anchored to the walls and I asked whether they had some anchors to reattach it in the second move back. One of the movers (Kelvin) said he would bring them next time, several weeks later. I wasn't sure I'd get the same people or that he would remember so I bought some online. Lo and behold, when I moved back in, the same crew came, and they brought anchors for my walls! That kind of attention and follow through was greatly appreciated. Apparently unpacking is even faster than packing because they were in and out before I could even have lunch. I would highly recommend these guys - pleasant, friendly, professional, and strong and quick movers. They were here with my furniture from storage before I even got to my apt and afterward all of them did a group walk-around with me to make sure everything was where I liked it. They helped move some of the heavier things this way and that way so I was exactly happy and they even helped me figure out all the electrical wires and extensions that were placed behind the furniture. Five stars!

We used Liffey for a move from New York City to upstate New York in August 2021. They were recommended to us by our realtor, who had had several prior good experiences with them. They did not disappoint! From estimate to packing to moving to unpacking, Luis Reyes and his team did a superb job. They carefully packed and loaded furniture, including many fragile antiques, drove it all two hours north and unloaded everything without any damage to either property or any furniture. Liffey handled the delivery of my goods in NYC. While I did not book them (my origin carrier did), I would recommend them and I would book them directly if I move again. Danny and his team were professional, humorous and empathetic (my origin carrier gave them the wrong delivery address). They handled the last minute change gracefully. I don’t have much, but what I have is dear to me and Liffey handled my goods with great care, navigating some tight books and crannies in my apartment. They even helped put my bed together which was very much appreciated after a long move day. We used Liffey van lines to move from a brownstone (3 stories FULL of furnitures and art ) to an appartement (4flights walk up). We could not be more satisfied: they were exemplary! It started with one of their commercial guy from their office who came with his i pad and wrote every single piece to be moved in order to make a detailed estimate . We got the estimate 24 hours later. They offered extra insurance and for this you need to write down a detailed list of objects. We decided to have them pack and it was the better option . I really encourage anyone to choose that option if like us you have lived 23 years in the same place and accumulated A LOT OF THINGS! They packed everything ! I mean EVERYTHING from the smallest spoon to the food in our pantry, our giant heavy and fragile Baroque mirror and extremely fragile sculptures, multiple paintings and glasses to every single pair of socks and heavy desk. A team of 7 or 8 movers came on day one and spent 7 hours quasi non stop packing very carefully (and quietly! ) They do use A LOT OF paper and boxes to pack so NOTHING , absolutely NOTHING was broken and NOTHING was Lost!! They are absolutely professional . The second day they finished packing and load their giant truck .by 3:30 they were done! On day 3 they arrived to unload sharp on time (our building authorized moving from 9 to 5) at our new apartment …a 4flight walk up! They were extremely careful and FAST! First they seemed surprised by the walk up, the office sent extra help after a couple of hours and by 3:45 they were done!!! When they packed they labeled each box not in detail of course but mainly what it is and which room it was (book second bedroom or china dining room). When they deliver, you better stand at the door and direct them to where to put each box because they are fast! They do not unpack the box if course but put the furniture back : The guy reinstalling the beds was super fast ! (15 min per bed !… anyone who had ever build an IKEA bed would be impressed by the performance!) I cannot recommend them enough ! I was honestly very impressed by the professionalism of these guys. The head of the group, Calvin was also very nice to his team which is always a plus! . Never, at any moment did I heard a curse nor yelling, or felt a bad vibe between the guys of the team . Never at any moment I sensed a moment of uncertainty or panic in their way of working. They knew what they were doing from packing to handling and maneuvering tricky space with fragile pieces ! Cherry on the cake? They are super competitive in term of price: I asked 4 different companies for an estimate , they were the number 2 less expensive . If I had to move again I would absolutely use them again with no hesitation !

I had a long-range move that entailed putting items in storage at the destination city for 4 months. I contacted Allied Van Lines for the move and the pick up company/affiliate they used for the May 5 packing and load was Liffey Van Lines. Although my overall experience with Allied was not stellar, the bright spot in my experience was Liffey. They arrived early, were efficient, responsive when I asked them to take special care of certain items and completed the load-up earlier than expected. Jose Pena, the foreman, and his team took great care of every piece of furniture and packed up the most fragile of items - which included a set of 96 Waterford crystal glasses and 6 complete sets of china dinnerware, as well as other fragile decorative items. I was worried and have been steadying myself for 4 month, sure that there would be issues. Well, I just opened the last box that they packed, thrilled that not one piece was broken or damaged, due to their expert care and attention to detail. I would highly recommend Liffey Van Lines for a move, and specifically, Jose Pena and his team for the pack up. Thank you.

We are very happy with our recent move in Manhattan, thanks to Kelvin and his team. On the day of move, they showed up precisely on time and were very professional from start to finish. All four movers were courteous and efficient, and they took good care of all the items in our apartment including my children’s telescope and my plants. We have an upright piano, and the elevator of the move-in building is small. To fit it in, they had to lift the piano and place it on its side. I was really impressed how they got it done, and in a gentle way. A shout out for the crew leader Kelvin, he flawlessly dissembled and reassembled all our furniture, including two bunk beds. Kenneth and 2 other guys from Liffey helped New move from New York City to Connecticut. Before moving day, they dropped off more than enough packing supplies. Everything high quality. On moving day, they arrived early which was great, extremely professional and knowledgeable. I had a piece of furniture that was monstrous and difficult to disassemble, they did it perfectly and kept all of my furniture in great shape during the move. I used Liffey Van Lines to move from Westchester County to Connecticut. I was a bit apprehensive since you hear and read so many horror stories about moving. Not only did my move include an extra stop but I needed the disassembly and reassembly of a large, 7 piece King size bedroom set. After speaking with a few companies, I communicated with Kieran over at Liffey and he made me feel at ease almost instantly. He's very much familiar with my bedroom set style and was very accommodating with the delivery time frames at both locations since we had time restrictions. When I finally reached a point in nyc (seven years to be precise) where I could actually afford to move out of an apartment with roommates to a place of my own, I was lucky enough to be given a moving credit from the building I signed a new lease with. I was given the name of Dumbo Moving and began corresponding with the appointed contact within the company for the building. It became obvious from the poor communication that I would feel uncertain and anxious about not only the cost of my move, but the competence of the company itself. After some back and forth, I began to question the buildings efficacy in choosing a vendor. I emailed the leasing agent who quickly referred me to Liffey Movers. I decided to call them immediately to see if I needed to budget my own money for the move. The conversation that followed with Kieran relieved any and all anxiety I was having. I work in production for various network shows (Billions, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel) and have had to move furniture out of various high profile filming locations. The experience that followed with the four movers that arrived on my move date confirmed that not only would I be fully taken care of on my personal move, but also I now have a vendor trustworthy enough for massive set moves, time sensitive deadlines. The Liffey team helped me stay within a reasonable budget and I felt did everything to make this move as care-free as possible. They are saved in my phone for any and all future moves. We moved a 2BR within the city and our crew came in and swept everything efficiently while our foreman was tracking every box - they disassembled our furniture and reassembled in a jiffy - in the middle of the move our 4-man crew was joined by a 3-man crew from a sister company - everything was neatly and securely packed such as our art and fragile items - our pricing included all moving equipment

Overall the move went well. They were several people but it took longer being I'm in an elevator bldg and 1 elevator was out. Make sure you remove the glass fixture from your lamps & wrap it- I did not and one of them broke during the move. Also a nightstand table leg fell off which is easily repaired. If you have things that need to be handled more delicately you need to tell them so they are aware of it. Another suggestion is to take smaller miscellaneous items and box them or in a bigger box. This will keep things more organized in the new space until you get ready to use those items as opposed to having all these loose items put in one of their moving bins and then emptied into your apartment laying there.

The movers were all so professional nice and courteous and very much in tune with COVID 19 regulations with the wearing of masks hand washing and social distancing which wasn’t easy considering we have 2 young inquisitive children. The way our furniture and possessions were boxed and wrapped really gave us peace of mind. The price was very reasonable and affordable. From the get go we had coordination from John, Rose and Danny. I’m not one for writing reviews but I felt this was a must. Don’t bother shopping around Kieran and the crew at Liffey will do the heavy lifting for you. We called them and right away moved up our move to the next day. We spent the entire day packing as fast as we could staying up all night to do so. I'm a former owner of a large moving company and have seen a lot of movers in action. From the very start, Liffey shined. Their estimator arrived at my house on-time, reviewed our scheduling (Last week of June - the worst time to move, as all movers are booked solid) and promptly submitted their estimate. The crew we received - Ed Nolan (leader), Thomas, Louis, Edgar and Walter were among the best I've ever seen. It was a 3 day move, involved lots of heavy items (I have a huge tool & equipment collection) plus fireproof files and a safe. The weather was hot and humid, but never a complaint from the guys! They protected our houses and property, everything was padded and stretch wrapped in the house, and place exactly where we wanted it. Nothing was damaged, even though we had 7 truck loads in total. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would recommend to anyone moving.

I have been using Liffey Van Lines for approximately 12 years. In that time they have moved me five times, from Colorado to NYC, and within NYC 4 times. Their service is second to none. Jim shows up to provide quotes at the appointed time, and their movers pack and move me within the allocated time. It is easy to schedule moves with Kieran and Certificates of Insurance are turned around within 1-2 days and sometimes on the same day. If you move to a smaller apartment, they will take your stuff back to their storage facility and store it for you and bring stuff from storage when you need it. The movers are always friendly and will go the extra mile for you - sometimes taking boxes away even if you haven't paid for that service. I recently decided to compare their price against another moving company in NYC and they were $600 cheaper, so I stuck with them. Truly a five star company.

The moving agent, Patrick, walks you through everything, is always available, and is super helpful when you have multiple questions. This makes you decide to seal the deal with Liffey Vanlines instead of the hundreds of other available moving companies. I'm still shocked at how efficient they were. This is a well-oiled machine. Long answer Patrick was my first contact with the company. I was trying to schedule an out of state move within a very short amount of time. He was very accommodating with my travel schedule and was able to schedule someone to come out and do the estimate as soon as possible. He was very informative. This made me choose to do an in-home estimate with this company. The person who came to do the in-home estimate, Jim, was very polite, professional, and informative. This made me choose to follow up with the estimate from this company. Jim was personable and got right to business. When you told him that you were talking half of your books and clothes, he wrote down that you were taking half of your books and clothes. He did not write that you were taking all of the them like his competitors did. When you told him that you were going to pack some of your belongings, he wrote down that you were going to pack some of your belongings. He did not say "no you won't" and that he will do all of your packing unlike his competitors. He also didn't engage in unfortunate political discussions or try to win you over with randomness and harassing follow up calls like his well-meaning competitors. Jim was polite, listened to you and understood that you were the customer and was the one to decide whether you were going to hire them or not. He was super-efficient and was in and out. He didn't inflate his estimate like the others did. He was the first in-person contact from this company and was the reason I chose to inquire more about their service. The rest of the time I worked with Patrick who helped me pick the best dates for the move and *everything* related to the move. He even revised the proposed move dates and contracts to accommodate changes that came up. This ended up taking a few weeks and more of his time. He explained every detail of the contract to me and answered all of the very basic questions that I had. I never had a moving company provide so much clarity and assistance. This made me hire this company and sign the contract for my interstate move. Kevin was the move pickup leader. First, Kevin arrived and then suddenly another guy walks in, and another guy, and another guy, and another guy, and another guy…all streaming in one after the other. They were prompt and unbelievably efficient. I have never seen anything like this in all of my 10 prior moves. Literally, before I could turn around, my clothes were packed and in boxes. They were very careful with my belongings. When I told Kevin that I cared the most about my family pictures and the simple art my mother made for me, Kevin cared the most about my family pictures and the simple art my mother made for me and packed them accordingly. They were so helpful and respectful. I didn’t have many requests, but they listened very carefully and were happy to address the ones that I had. The team of Kevin, Alejandro, Ivan, Calvin, Samuel and Jose was wonderful and I loved these guys. I was lucky to get their help. My stuff arrived in an amazing time window. My friends using other companies for their interstate moves were waiting and waiting for their furniture. I got a call that the truck from this company was on its way before I even got keys to my new place. Nothing was missing or broken. I’m still shocked at their efficiency.. They coordinated with David Green from Carey movers did the interstate move and pickup and was superb (see my review for Carey movers). I’ll definitely be using them again and have already recommended them to friends and family in the US and outside for international moves.

From the start, when Jim Clogston responded quickly to my initial inquiry, my experience with this company was excellent. They go beyond the move itself, to give personalized assessment and advice. What a great company to work with! Our in-apartment estimate was scheduled super easily and done in a jiffy. Day of, the movers came in, looked over the organzied chaos that was our apartment, assessed, and got to work moving everything quickly and efficiently (even if we were still breaking down our bed at the time). All of our belongings made it from NYC to LA in faster time than even expected, even over the holidays, and were received in excellent condition. The manager overseeing the job on the NYC side was a little gruff, but not rude, and probably just trying to get the work done quickly. His team were so kind and hard-working. Would use this company again, for sure, but here's hoping to not have to move cross country again too soon!

They moved my mom from a house in Westchester to 70th Street in Manhattan on 1/8/19, and also moved a huge number of things from the house to a storage unit in Harlem on 1/9/19. The estimate they gave a few days before was very fair and covered EVERYTHING! I've heard so many horror stories about surprise charges for packing material, tape, etc., after the move is done, but everything was truly included with Liffey! The crew was very careful, professional, punctual, and friendly, and there was no absolutely no damage to anything, including mom's prized piano.
