I used Around Town Movers for a move from the DC to West Virginia. The entire process and everyone I dealt with were great! This company is with you every step of the way from quote to setup at your destination. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, ready to respond to questions within minutes. The guys that came to pack up my furniture were fast, efficient, and took great care I’m not damaging any of the items or structure. I’m super impressed and will definitely use Around Town for my next move!

All three movers were really great, focused and helpful. They loaded and unloaded nonstop for long 13 hrs. They just took 15 min break between loading and unloading. All of them were kind and friendly. Had really good moving experience with them and highly recommend them. Estimator, under estimated and could have added a man and made it a shorter day. Suggestion for the moving company: Call customer every few hours to check on status and be little dynamic on the whole move. With midday check-in they could have sent 1 more person and helped out the first crew and make it faster.

We had a great experience with Around Town, moving from MD to VA. They were responsive and available for an in person quote. Steve visited to see the property and provide an estimate and recommendation. The day of team (Omar, Miguel, and Alan) were awesome. Helpful, intuitive, careful, and fast. Time was taken to ensure we knew what was being moved, and that we could communicate fragile items. Cannot recommend more for the experience that we had. Not a broken glass or scratched wall!

Four reasons why you should hire Around Town Movers: 1) Of all the quotes I received their quote most closely aligned with actual number of manhours and equipment required to accomplish my move. You can trust their estimate! 2) The movers were extremely careful with the handling of my possessions (and I am picky!). They paid attention to my “special care warnings” with prized items and clearly communicated damage/dings on items before they were moved. 3) Movers were efficient, HARD WORKING, ethical, respectful, and frankly impressive in speed and sheer ability – superheroes in disguise (the company t-shirts do not do them justice). 4) Your anxiety level associated with moving will decrease exponentially within the first 30-minutes seeing them in action. My only negatives, so no reader thinks I am being overly generous, would be that despite forecast hurricane rains, the company was unwilling to reschedule the move for the next day until the actual hurricane rains created unsafe working conditions. However, as soon as the weather did indeed materialize to be as severe as predicted, they were quick to reassess and move to the next morning. Also, half the crew showed up almost 30-minutes late. And the unload took quite a bit longer than the load-up (to be expected due to stairs and general fatigue). Overall summary – Around Town Movers was worth the money and I would absolutely hire them again!

When bringing in the furniture and carrying it to the third floor, they were careful to not damage the furniture or the walls. And, were efficient enough when assembling furniture. Very pleased with the service so far. We are moving out of state and used Around Town for moving and long term storage. Juan Carlos and his team did an excellent job with the move and took excellent care with preparing the house (wrapping doorways and bannisters, protecting wood stairs) and all of our furniture. If I could give 10 stars I would! We used around town movers for a house move from the Virginia to Pennsylvania (picked up Friday, dropped off Saturday) and it couldn’t have gone any smoother! From our first consultation with Leon to get an estimate (which was spot on), help with packing supplies, to actual move day with Juan Carlos and team we were very impressed. Between picking up free used boxes and the moving materials credit they give you we barely paid for any moving supplies which was a huge help. I also have to mention they even managed to dissemble and move our peloton tread which we otherwise would have had to pay peloton to disassemble and assemble, this was huge for us all thanks to Juan Carlos. Their pricing was more affordable than other companies we priced with and the entire process was seamless, anyone we worked with along the way to make our move was extremely helpful. I would recommend Around Town Movers to anyone!

We had a complicated move involving several stops and putting something’s in storage, packing other items. The team of Gerson, Celia, Mario, and Blanca showed up on time and immediately started working, they were cheerful but never stopped working. As a retired military I have been moved many times and I can safely say this was the best experience I have ever had. I would ask for this crew anytime I moved.

A lot of stuff! They were so kind and patient and got it all done despite the amount of things to move, very hot weather & a thunderstorm at the end of the day! We definitely recommend this group! For a small Local move with a few pieces of furniture, we used Around Town Movers and Scott and his Team were absolutely excellent. They clearly understood my move and in a detailed manner spelt out the procedure and costing that was fairly reasonable for any professional movers with skilled packing qualities to perform the job. The crew arrived on-time and the whole process was absolutely awesome and totally headache free. I highly-highly recommend Around Town Movers for all your moves including pickup and drop-off of items that you purchase that cannot be delivered. I called ATM for estimate for my move and I had the pleasure of working with Travis Williams. He arrived at our appointment on time, gave me a thorough presentation of my options and had answers to all my questions and concerns. Unfortunately, I ended up not using ATM because my budget didn't allow, but I would like to mention that, had not being for my budget situation, I would have been extremely satisfied with the service, if the professionalism that Travis demonstrated was any indication of the rest of the crew. I really appreciate the time and attention Travis gave me. If there is a next move in my future, I will make sure to ask them for an estimate and hopefully I will be using them.

Movers were great. Very efficient and hard working, they didn’t damage any of my items and we had quite a few breakable items like glass cases, mirrors, TVs, glass coffee tables, etc. I would def recommend this company to anyone looking to move. I used Around Town Movers for a fairly simple move - one big furniture piece. The move itself went great - the team was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable about how to get the job done with no issues! They also took their time to make sure the piece was dissembled and packed correctly for storage. Their contact system was great for keeping me updated on how the move was going the entire time and the price they gave me for the move was better than other companies I've used in the past. It's really difficult to find any negatives in the service Around Town Movers offer! I definitely recommend them if you're looking for a stress-free experience!!

From our initial meeting with Leon for estimates through packing, storage, and delivery the Around Town experience was fantastic. Packers laid down protective pads and took great care in moving precious antiques and large items when loading and unloading. They disassembled and reassembled our furniture without damage. Trucks were clean and the packers were trained and experienced. When I had a question, Leon was always responsive…calling back in record time if I had to leave a voicemail. There are lots of choices but we’re glad we picked Around Town.

They ensured that my property was well secured and safely transported during the move. I never had any concerns about them or their services. Also, I think that their firm is reasonably priced. Obviously, I think highly of that team and their company.

Dave’s planning ahead for this move made the transition go so very smoothly. On February 12, 2022, we emptied an apartment in Washington DC and transported all of the contents to a storage unit. The team from Around Town Movers was fantastic, from start to finish. Relocation consultant Scott Loving was so easy to work with and hyper-organized. The ATM office called several times to confirm details, documents and timing prior to moving day. On the day of the move, the three movers showed up early and were totally on their game. They were clearly professionals who knew how to wrap furniture, move it quickly, load the truck, and then unload and fill the storage unit efficiently and carefully. Carlos and his team were absolute pros and really nice guys, as well! The entire job, start to finish, including a 30 minute drive from Washington DC to the storage unit, was finished in five hours. I would recommend Around Town Movers to anyone, at any time. In our experience, this is a very organized and well-run company with very kind and thoughtful staff. Thank you, all, for making a stressful moving process nearly stress-free!

We used Around Town Movers based on a referral and we’re very happy with the service they provided. Communication in advance of our move was great, down to a reminder call the day before confirming the crew’s arrival time. The crew showed up exactly on time and were pleasant and polite. We were putting a large amount of items into a storage unit and spent extra time to wrap furniture to prevent damage. At the end of the day the crew leader sat down with me to review and explain all of the charges which I appreciated. We will definitely be using this company again when we move back into our house.

Enrique and his crew were simply amazing on our 11 hour move. They were careful, didn't hit one bump or knock a wall at all, moved my entire 3 floors and 9500 square feet of furniture and not once batted an eyelash or stopped smoking and being helpful and pleasant. We did a quick walk through and look at the heavier items, he reviewed the best way to load the truck and what order everything would go in. After a few instructions to the rest of the team, they were off to work! Meticulously protecting all of my items (including a glass top dining room table and bar). In a few hours everything was safely loaded and secured. Once we arrived at my new house, he reviewed with the team what items went where. Scott was excellent when helping me coordinate a move for my family member while I was living out of state. Very responsive to all my questions. The contract was very detailed with no hidden charges. On moving day, Carlos and his team arrived early and packed the apartment and loaded to take to storage. It was very hot and the team worked around not having a designated freight elevator. On move in day, Sandra Ramierz and her team arrived early and were met with challenges right away in the loading dock with a broken down car blocking them. They were professional and helped the driver and moved in all of the belongings in a professional and timely manner, even though we ran out of time on the freight elevator with the parking garage delay. This company and their teams are excellent to work with and extremely professional. I highly recommend them!

Around Town Movers was terrific to work with, and in particular Ulises & Jose were awesome! They arrived 10 minutes early, were very pleasant to work with, and took great care to protect / wrap the furniture properly and load it carefully into the truck. They were equally careful and efficient upon unloading and setting it up in the new place. This move was scheduled with same day with no advance notice. When they arrived at the appointed time it was basically the end of the day, and it was raining & dark outside! We were extremely happy with their service. Marco and his crew were punctual, courteous, professional and extremely efficient! My furniture is large and heavy but one mover wrapped it carefully and quickly. Then, the other two movers removed and loaded it immediately on the truck. This assembly line only lasted a short 45 minutes and they finished! Absolutely, amazing how punctual they were in arriving at my long distance location. The crew unloaded the furniture and carefully place it in its new location with no issues! This worked out great because some of my furniture had to be totally disassembled in order for it to be moved. They had all the tools required and got the job done as quickly as possible. Everything about this moving company was great!!! I would definitely use them again. They were not the cheapest quote we received. We chose them because they were the only ones that came for an in-house inventory and moving estimate. The sales associate, Dee, was super professional, upfront, and friendly. He took care to ensure he captured any special instructions on our invoice, and he even helped us pick a cheaper moving day since we had flexibility. I was even more impressed on moving day. Edgar and his crew were extremely professional, friendly, and efficient. They took care to wrap the furniture and ensured they did not hit any walls. They moved all our heavy furniture and books from our third floor walk-up condo to our new place without complaint and in record time. They finished up quicker than original estimated, and we only had to pay for their actual time.

This team did a fantastic job with my father's move from a two bedroom apartment into an assisted living residence. The team was professional, courteous, understanding and very, very careful with all of my Dad's belongings. The move took longer than anticipated because the building did not have their freight elevator operational as planned, which required the movers to carry furniture at least 5X the distance they should have. There were absolutely no complaints and they still made sure that everything was handled professionally and without damage. Moving is so stressful! I helped my daughter with her move from VA to FL and contacted several movers since this was her first time moving an apartment state to state. One of the hardest parts of moving is knowing if you're getting a good company. Very happy we went with Around Town. Jose and crew for pick up and Eduardo and crew for delivery were all AMAZING! From the initial estimate meeting to the actual move, my husband and I were impressed with the professionalism and customer focused approach of Around Town Movers. Mr Dave, the gentleman who came to our initial estimate meeting, knew exactly the services and products we needed for our move down to the number of rolls of tape we would need. You can trust him to recommend exactly the team and equipment you need for your move. Carlos, and his team of movers arrived on time the morning of our moving day, wasted no time, and treated our furnishings as if they were moving their own property. Every item was wrapped in protective blankets or shrink wrap. Everything was hand carried from our old home and into our new home with no scuffs on the walls or floors—they lay protective cloths to keep the wood floors scratch free. They disassembled and reassembled our treadmill and adjustable bed. They were all polite, friendly and helpful. They were so conscientious about getting every piece of furniture exactly where it needed to go that they even swapped one bookcase upstairs for one downstairs when my husband realized his mis-direction. From the initial email contact to the move itself, I was very impressed with the service received. They explained all costs in advance and there were no hidden fees added on at the end. Marco and his team did an excellent job with the move. The new house had new hardwood floors and Marco and the team were incredibly careful to avoid scratching them. Not only did they avoid scratching the floors, they also managed to avoid scratching the walls. The four man crew worked non-stop for six hours (they didn't even break for lunch). We were lucky to have the same team on both ends of the move... it would have been fine if we hadn’t, but it was nice to know the crew. They were amazing. They arrived (early) and worked with us to wrap our furniture for storage. Then, when we arrived at the storage facility, they did an incredible job of fitting the most furniture possible into it. Douglais did well as the crew chief, mentoring the younger crew members as they worked. The star was Ricardo, who showed the other two crew members how to best deal with the furniture as they prepared them for transport and storage, obviously teaching them not only how but why to do it that way. Once we arrived at the storage facility, he managed the whole process of fitting all of the furniture into the space (he did better than many trained Air Force loadmasters would have). This was the best experience I have had with a moving company, and that includes three corporate moves across the United States. The crew showed up on time, did some surveillance to locate the freight elevator and loading dock, (logistics) and then proceeded to give me an overview of how they were going to wrap and protect the antiques, fine reproduction furniture, lamps and Persian rugs, I had purchased from a family member's estate sale. The crew was courteous, attentive, listened carefully to my instructions. Even though it was a long afternoon, they were cheerful and never complained about the heavy work, wrapping and lifting of pieces. The foreman answered my questions thoroughly and expectations were understood with clarity by both parties. This company is superb at communications, follow-up, providing information and also user friendly. Their fees are competitive and fair. They offer storage in their own climate controlled warehouse if one needs those services. They are simply superior to any moving company that I have ever used and I highly recommend them. Although they are primarily a "local" mover for the mid-Atlantic area (Pennsylvania to North Carolina) they are easily able to contract with long distance carriers, such as when my shipment had to be delivered to my home in California. The amount of lifting and carrying that they did purely on their backs was amazing. One of the owners Dave Underwood was immediately responsive to our request, came to our home and took detailed notes. He was professional, friendly, caring, kind and wanted to do an excellent job. He and his company were avalable to answer questions. When we compared the cost of our local move with another Arlington company, the estimate was much lower. More care was taken with our possessions since all the furiture would be carefully shrink-wrapped and extra wardrobes boxes provided for free. The day of the move, it was pouring with torrential rain and yet all of our possessions arrived dry. Our rental home was carefully protected so that everything was left in great condition. The home we were buying was also carefully protected so that the carpets were not stained with mud. The workers were efficient, friendly, helpful and most professional. They wore masks to protect us from COVID, just as we also wore masks. They checked often with us to make sure that everything was put where we wanted it in our new home. We were truly delighted with our move, in spite of difficult weather conditions and the fact that it was during this pandemic. The move took 3 hrs and they worked very hard the entire time. Although everything is not unpacked yet, I have not found any damages, whatsoever. I would highly recommend Our Guys Around Town Movers for your next move and I would definitely hire them again. I found their rates to be reasonable and fair. And don't forget to tip the guys for their work. They deserved it and they appreciated it :-) If I were to give those 3 guys any words of advice, it would be to not speak Spanish in front of the customers because you never know when those customers can understand Spanish, and that's all I'll say about that.

We used Around Town Movers to pack up our household goods from two different pick up sites in Alexandria, VA and had them consolidate our belongings at their warehousing facility for delivery to our new home in Charles Town, WV the following day. My crew of 3 (led by Jhonny, and backed up by Nacho and Carlitos) worked hard over an 8 hour day and accomplished a lot in our 3 level home with large furniture. Our Guys were great! Submitted my request online and they called me in about an hour and were able to set up our move in 3 days notice! The movers showed up an hour early! We had 3 men and 1 truck! They were super efficient and extremely respectful to us and our belongings! We were a little worried about them moving some of our antiques but they wrapped everything in quilted blankets and didn't hit any walls or obstacles in their way! The move took 6 hours, which was a little longer than we expected but I blame my husband and myself. This was our first move having movers move us and we should have given better direction on where to have them put things when we got to the new house, a lesson to be learned by us for the next time! I used around town movers to move three curio cabinets from my house to my daughter's house. The movers who showed up were prompt and professional. The whole transfer was very easy. Update 2022: I used them again to pack up and move my household into storage and then to my new home. They helped me sort and move clothes and my home office into a temporary apartment. The next day another crew came and loaded two trucks with items to go into their temporary storage facility. They also took to the dump everything I wasn't keeping. All of their employees have been so helpful. Moving is very stressful, and although they couldn't eliminate the stress of moving, they got us through the most difficult bumps in the process.

My house was packed and unloaded in 5 hours, including an hour drive to the new house. Do you need to leave trashbags in the kitchen for tomorrow when you come back to clean? ...I would definitely use them again! They gave me a $100 box credit so I only paid $10 for a lot of boxes. Left that house and covered the floors and removed the furniture that was being disposed to the outside. Then gave me time to vaccum before bring the furniture into my house. Carlos and his 4-man crew packed and moved me and my girlfriend from a two bed/two bath apartment to a townhouse in the local area. They were punctual, polite, and fast. These guys literally worked until the job was complete, which took approximately 8.5 hours from start to finish (we had a lot of stuff). Carlos spoke English well but the others were not as fluent (so if you know Spanish, communicating with others on the them would be easier); however, language barriers are never a factor to me. We are still unpacking but I have yet to find anything broken. I think that is a testament to their care and quality of service. We had new carpets installed prior to moving and my one complaint would be that the carpet runners they set down did not make it to all the rooms and my girlfriend had to keep asking them to take their shoes off. I understand it can be very inconvenient to do that when you're constantly going up and down, but I would suggest the company provides shoe covers for their movers to slide on and off. Even with that minor complaint, I wouldn't lower my rating from 5-stars. I highly recommend using Around Town Movers to anyone and I'd like to send my gratitude to Carlos and his crew for the terrific work they did!

We had a situation where 3/4 of our shipment needed to continue in storage for another move. Not only did they “make everything fit” like a puzzle into storage they were able to bring other items into dispersed areas and remove all packaging and debris. Fantastic job. They took real care to make sure all my items didn't get damaged. They covered all my walls and corners to make sure nothing got ruined. We used them to move into our new house from a storage unit. I used a combo of DIY and paid helpers to move out of our old house. I definitely recommend and I don't want to move again, but if I had to I would use these guys for the complete move.

Not sure where to start - as every aspect of our move, from the initial quote to the final signoff was professionally executed with amazing attention to every detail. There is an art to loading an assortment of shapes and sizes of furniture, art, marble table tops, fragile boxes, and electronics. We were amazed at how effectively and efficiently they were able to pack our lives into a 26' truck! They arrived ON TIME (on THE hottest day of the year) with the entire crew - prepped the house to protect our flooring and doorways - and inventory tagged EVERYTHING that would be going before moving anything on to the truck. At one point in the move they realized that we had a glass top on our office desk that they hadn't known about moving and within 15 minutes Drew and Nestor (company managers/experts) were on the scene helping to make a decision with the crew as to whether to wrap the desk WITH the glass on it or wrap the glass separately. They introduced themselves - addressed the issue - and moved on to satisfy another customer need I'm sure! Amazingly - the team that drove the truck to Florida was as intimately familiar with what was loaded into the truck as the packing team - and walked with us through the new home to determine where everything was going to go before prepping the house. Can't say enough awesome things about the Our Guys Around Town Movers teams - and the way they made us feel like the success of our move was the only thing that mattered to them that day. After that day we actually re-hired them two days later to help us pack up and load a Penske truck. Our experience with our guys around town has been great. For our first interview with Leon, and their coordinators ( Eric) to the mover team lead Jhonny, the entire experience was hassle free. Team Lead Jhonny was professional when he came on moving day, explained entire process and gave extra care for our belongings. The quote and hourly rate seemed fair, and they were right on with us needing two trucks and five guys for our move (from 3 bedroom townhouse to 4 bedroom house), which I was skeptical about at the beginning. The guys were all very careful with our belongings and the walls etc. My only complaint was that something things in the new house ended up in very odd rooms. Things marked for a kids bedroom, for example, were in the basement at the end of the day. This was fairly minimal, though. Overall, it was a smooth move.

Their home in North Carolina is their new retirement home, and as their daughter I was worried about them moving far away from me or being taken advantage of by a company since they are older. Eric has the most wonderful customer service and the crew didn't once stop smiling. Our move had the crew traveling out of state to do 2 pick ups. Both needed to be packed and loaded. Upon their final destination in Leesburg, they unpacked everything with great care and efficiency! I was so happy, I could have cried. I got all the credit from family, while Our Guys did all the work. There are always accidents or problems that slow a process down, but our move was on time at every location, never had travel issues of getting lost and not broken items upon arrival. I hope never to move again, but when I do, they will be the only company I call.

In addition, I provided this review so Jose and Ulysses would not suffer the consequences of Marco's poor behavior....the psychotic stares, yelling, and spending most of the time in the truck yelling at someone on the phone while Jose and Ulysses unloaded without him was not what I was paying him to do. Most of my boxes were left in the garage after providing directions to Marco where they were to be placed. By the end, it was so hot and I was much too tired from also helping to load the truck to deal with him so now I'm paying some nice high school boys to complete my move. No, I will not be using your services again.

To be fair, I didn't disclose during the booking that the alley was small. These movers where very unprofessional and they parked there truck illegally blocking in 3 cars. Including mine and delayed me and my family from departing. When I confronted them they had a smerck on there face and we yelled at each other for five minutes. Then they finally moved the truck marking us wait for 45 minutes and marking us late. Also only one of them knew I flush and his wasn’t great. PS Thank you for the apology I believe now that it was also a tenet who was in the wrong too by telling your guys where to park.

They were OK. Everything was moved and nothing had a scratch, but it cost over $600 to move out of a tiny 900 sq foot apartment. Everything we own is cheap and crappy, but be it a busted couch or a $4 laundry hamper, these guys take the time to wrap everything up in blankets or plastic. I'd recommend it if you have fancy stuff, but for young folks who just need their stuff moved, these guys are overpriced.
