Where to start with this amazing company….. from meeting back when we were neighbors and offering me a job at a time of need, to being one of if not the best employers I’ve ever had, to now being one of his customers there’s is very little that Billy, Jen and their crew will not do to help make life easier. We go thru life and meet hundreds of thousands of people and very rarely do we get the opportunity to meet people as great as Billy and Jen. I hope if you’re looking for a moving company that there is no question that The Moving Company is and always will be the first choice and the best choice. “Making life’s transitions simple” is an understatement but a statement that these amazing salt of the earth people follow day in and day out. The owner and office staff are amazing. They worked around my schedule and even helped pack up some items I didn’t get to. The movers were kind and took great care in handling my belongings. I have used several movers over the past 15 years and this has been the best experience of them all. I definitely would use them again and will recommend them to my friends. They live up to their name and should be The only Moving Company you use.

These guys were amazing! Billy and Tim showed up when scheduled, were super professional, hustled to get things done, and made the whole experience really easy! I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who values the safety of their items. I have seen a lot of moving companies show up at our apartments with sketchy looking employees and rickety vehicles. These guys are not like other moving companies!! The Moving Company was easy to book and schedule on the phone, showed up when scheduled, and were competitively priced. I would recommend them to anyone!!

Tim and Brandon were absolutely amazing with my move. They helped me so much and fixed furniture that the previous owners had messed up. They helped put my furniture in the perfect place and just made the move go so smoothly. The only way I will ever move again is with The Moving Company. I can't express how thankful I am to have found these guys. From coordinating quotes with Jen & Billy to their fantastic, hardworking team and the actual move, this was the least stressed I've ever been for one. We used them to get my mom moved from VA to SC, and everything was handled beautifully. They take great care in the details we felt like her stuff was in safe hands from the moment they touched it. There was no haphazard manhandling of our furniture or keepsakes or anything. I wish I'd found them for my own move 8 months ago....but we loved them so much we used them twice for mom :)

My daughter was needing to move about 4 hours away from Virginia Beach. I flew from Texas to help her because I'm an "experienced mover" myself. After working with this moving company I realized she really didn't need me. There aren't enough good things I could say about the team of guys that assisted us. They were extremely courteous & polite & cheerful. They made a stressful experience so much better than I have ever experienced in my moves. Our move was just a move out and move in almost 3 wks later due to water damage in our condo. The Moving Company handled it as seriously as if we were moving across country. The entire crew was professional and sensitive to the stresses of moving and responded quickly to any questions or concerns. We just moved from NC to FL. We contacted several moving companies to get quotes. All of them were around the same price, but one really stuck out. Jen at The Moving Company got right back to us with a quote and followed up to see if we had any questions. We were building a new home in Florida, and had already sold our home in NC. All of our belongings were packed in storage containers. We explained to Jen that we did not have a set completion date for our house. She said that was not a problem, that they would work with us. She was not kidding, we had to change our date at least 10 times. She was friendly and helpful every time. She always took the time to make us feel like she would figure out a way to reschedule and get us moved. She really made us feel like family. After several months of building delays we were finally ready for the move. Jen let us know what day Billy and his crew would pick up, she let us know when they got there and when they were loaded. She gave us a ETA for the next day. Billy let us know when they were getting close. It was raining, so we were a little concerned. The rain didn't bother them at all. They started unloading and they were very organized. They put everything exactly where we wanted it. They set up the beds. They were very friendly and professional. Every piece of furniture and every box arrived undamaged. This is a family business, and Billy and Jen made us feel like we were part of their family. If you are looking for a moving company that will take the stress out of moving, and treat your possessions like their own than this this is the company you should use. Top-notch service from the very start to the very end. Billy and Jen were amazing getting the logistics all sorted out. They were extremely responsive and made the moving process so easy! On moving day we had the pleasure of working with Cam, Mack and Tim. They were phenomenal-hardworking gentlemen that were quick, efficient, careful, and a pleasure to work with! Absolutely wonderful moving experience!! I moved from VB to NC in Dec 2021 and selected TMC over several other big name and local movers due to their transparency, affordable price, and strong positive feedback. Jen was the PoC; she scheduled the move, sent and explained the quote, and answered follow up questions. Billy and Cam were the muscle. The physical move was completed in 2 days, 1 for loading in VB and next day for unloading in NC. Billy and Cam were organized, efficient, and friendly! They were very thorough with packing, well prepared with equipment and materials, and moved everything with care. They packed and secured the truck nicely, even sent me a picture of how the back looked. At move in, they placed furniture where I asked, assembled my bed, and even took the time to inspect/unpack 1 dented box to be sure nothing inside was damaged (nothing was broken or damaged during the entire process). Overall, it was the smoothest possible move one could hope for. Highly recommend to anyone in Hampton Roads!

They provided me with 3 guys who were on time and very professional. They helped me move out of a 16' pod storage unit (largest one they provide) into a three story townhome with difficult hallways and stairs to maneuver furniture through. They quoted the place for the 2 hour minimum and were done with 7 minutes to spare. During that two hours, the guys never stopped moving and were super careful with my stuff. They never asked for anything and the price of the service was more than reasonable. I would recommend the Moving Company to anyone in the VB area.

Movers were professional, personable, and respectful. It was a difficult job at the end, as the movers had to walk up stairs and maneuver through a tight maze in the storage facility to get our belongings in securely. Absolutely the best experience I have had dealing with a moving company or any company for that matter. I reached out online for movers and was bombarded with email and texts from companies all over the country. Let’s just say , their practices were exactly what they tell you to avoid when dealing with shady movers and current scams. I decided I wanted a local moving company. The search I did gave me The Moving Company. It jumped off the page at me. So I called and got Jen on the phone. Now this lady really put me at ease and I felt confident I was dealing with a great company. She worked with me on several occasions. I was so overwhelmed with packing I tried to cancel or change the date. She was so understanding and helpful, even volunteered to come and help me pack! Who does that?! She offered alternate dates. Anything she could do to help she was willing. I got some friends together and was able to stay on schedule. I received a call/text the truck was on the way. They arrived shortly thereafter. Okay I’m not a hoarder but I do have a lot of stuff! They did a brief walkthrough and got to work. These guys really know moving! They hauled the stuff out, packed it perfectly in the truck and secured it safely in place. It was hot, they were overwhelmed by the amount of stuff, and they never missed a beat. They were hardworking and professional at all times. Don’t underestimate their size or determination to succeed. They will get the job done. I was worried something was going to go wrong somewhere. I couldn’t have been more wrong. They kept their options open for anything that could happen, rolled with the changes and provided the best experience I could ever have hoped for. If you are moving do yourself a favor and call Billy and Jen and then sit back and let it happen. (Do me them a favor and overestimate your belongings. I had much more than I expected to have and the guys just kept moving until it was done.) Thank you guys for everything.

Look no further for a professional mover. From initial estimate to final delivery, the employees of the Moving Company Ltd were extremely professional and cared for my belongings as if they were their own. I shopped around before I hired them and one of the other companies tried to talk me out of hiring them. I almost listened, but I asked questions and each time, the owner and his wife answered my questions. Come moving day, the crew was on time. You can tell they've done this many times and I had no issues with any of it once it got to my apartment. These guys are great! They helped my girlfriend move a month ago and I used them on her recommendation. They were so quick about disassembling and reassembling furniture that I had trouble with on my own the first time I had to assemble them. They were even willing to disassemble a bed at the destination just to get it out of the way of a new bed! Very professional and easy to work with, good about keeping me updated when there were delays because of another move earlier in the day.

They worked together as a smooth operating team. They were mindful of wiping off their feet, so we didn't have to clean the hickory floors after the move. We had to make a move across state lines. After calling around for quotes, The Moving Company offered a very fair and reasonable price. The Moving Company assisted me with my move on 20 October. They were exceptional! They were on time, worked efficiently and carefully wrapped all of my furniture. They were so careful, they even wrapped the front door jam so that nothing would get damaged. Having moved 17 times during my Air Force career, I can say that I have never had a more careful and efficient move. I was extremely impressed by their efficiency and care of my household belongings. My husband and I have moved several times in the past. We’ve only had one other experience with a (different) moving company and they were terrible. Which is why we’ve done all our other moves, on our own. However, with heavy furniture and bad backs, we needed help. Our apartment complex recommended the Moving Company and we’re glad they did. These guys moved all our furniture with ease and absolutely no damage. Very personable, very efficient and their pricing is VERY reasonable. Let’s be honest- no one looks forward to moving day! My situation required me to move twice in 12 days! I sold my house quickly and my new home wasn’t ready so everything had to go in storage. At first they said they had to call me back, which worried me, but THEY called backed almost immediately. Again, professional. When they arrived not only did they move quickly but had a plan. Made quick decisions. I've had many movers in the past so I was expecting a slow move, not this team! Not only did they move fast but was very cautious with my very heavy, very special to me, very large piece of furniture. They packed a smaller size Uhaul with all my things and still left me space. Nothing moved in that truck. When it came time for my unload, nothing fell over. This is a bigger deal than you may think. They put thought, care and time into making my move fast, efficient and professional. I would highly recommend. The only issue you may run into is them not being available due to the quality service and others booking them before you. Plan ahead and expect the best. This is a first class moving service. It is a small company, but they bring lots of heart. We have moved with them twice. Once locally in the Virginia Beach area and, most recently, from Virginia Beach to northern Florida. Billy and his crew loaded two 26-foot trucks in Virginia in one day, drove them 10 hours to Florida the next day, unloaded the third day and were on their way back to Virginia. Billy is certainly a touch OCD, but he has focused his compulsion to do it right into training his crew. EVERY piece of our furniture was blanket wrapped and then wrapped in plastic to protect it. Billy's loading of a truck is a work of art. Every square inch of space is used so nothing can move and cause damage to something else. Every member of the four-person crew a was a genuinely nice person. Not the kind of people you have to worry about handling your stuff. Rather the kind of people you want to invite to have lunch and a beer with you after the work is done. Quality work, nice people, reasonable cost. What more can you ask for?

He is so very talented in visualizing how a truck should be packed; he packs it just like Tetris, and magically gets everything to fit! He is such an experienced mover, that he is able to approximate what size truck his customers will need, allowing them to save a little cash on a truck that may be bigger than what is necessary. Mr. Rak, Kevin, and Tim are all incredibly strong and work swiftly together! Let's face it, sleeper sofas are so heavy and cumbersome, but these guys were able to get it out of the apartment and down a flight of outdoor stairs that are L-shaped, while it was raining! Mr. Rak's team worked so hard, and they didn't stop until the job was done. They treat all belongings with extreme care, and wrap efficiently, while making the wrapping last, should you be taking your items to storage. Mr. Rak is very fair and reasonably priced. I have heard that moving into a new home is on the list of 'stressful life events' that put us, for the most part normal adults, to the sanity test. .....And then Billy rings your doorbell. First you panic, because there are piles of clothes still scattered across your bedroom floor and more than one hectic closet that hasn't realized it's moving day yet. You let Billy know about the state of affairs in your home before you let he and his crew over the threshold, just in case they want to reconsider. They don't. Instead, Billy asks you to show him around. 'Ok. Ok. Ok. Guess what Vanessa, this is no big deal. We can have you moved before evening.' Our shoulders went down and the panic levels subsided as he and his team began to carefully transfer the contents of our lives onto their truck. My husband and I decided our best course of action would be to step out of the way, because magic was happening. By the end of the day, there was a fully assembled bed in each room, exactly where we wanted it to be. (There were sheets on those beds too by the way...) There was a desk in an office with a chair in the front, fully assembled, so there were no excuses for hubby not to get to work the very next day. If I was not there myself, I swear I would have thought Billy was Captain Kirk and he and Scottie had 'beemed up' our home in a huge teleportation device.
