The crew of five and two moving vans arrived right at the scheduled time. They all worked very fast and handled our things very carefully. They wrapped most loose items (those not in boxes) with some sort of "shrink wrap". Other items were wrapped in multiple layers of heavy wrapping paper. Other items such as lamps and lamp shades were carefully wrapped and put into boxes. Clothing was hung is special boxes that had rods tor the hangers. After they reached our destination, all items were carefully removed from the various wrappers and boxes, and were placed as we had designated. All of this was accomplished quicker than we had anticipated. We couldn't be more pleased with the overall moving experience. I rate it as 5+ stars. We will certainly recommend O'briens to anyone who needs moving service. Thanks again to the great crew. And the price was very reasonable. Thomas and Ruth Grim

Very pleased with the long distance moving service from O’Briens. Their team of 4 people wrapped, packed and loaded everything from our home swiftly and carefully, all the while ensuring good organized placement on their truck for ease of unloading. They brought the boxes, packing materials and all the equipment that could possibly be needed to complete the job. I appreciate that their team was mindful of our neighbors when they parked their truck and shoes professionalism at each step. Unpacking was equally swift and trouble free, done by the same crew. I moved at the busiest time of the year so at times it was difficult to reach the office by phone but they always called back within a couple of days with answers and options. Additionally, packing of special items (large mirror, exercise bike, tv etc) was outsourced to local packers who were quite efficient as well. I would recommend O Briens moving to friends and family without hesitation.

We recently moved 40 miles (from Montgomery to Chester County) and O'Brien's did a great job with our move. The sales rep/estimator, Aaron, was extremely knowledgable and professional during the site-visit of our home, he sent the estimate quickly and answered all my questions promptly. The moving crew was excellent - friendly, competent and careful with our belongings. Ours was a 2-day move, so they loaded-in on one day, and unloaded the second. They were on time and very respectful of our property and belongings in both our old home and in the new home. They even put down a protective covering over the hardwood floors in our new home without having to be asked. The moving estimate ended up being higher than the actual amount of belongings they moved, so O'Brien's contacted me and explained I would receive a refund for the difference. The refund arrived within a week, as promised. Overall, I was very impressed with O'Brien's and would highly recommend them.

This is our second time to ask O'Brien's to move our household goods. They have been consistently professional and trustworthy. This year all movers are on tight scheduling. We contacted them 6 weeks before the move but they couldn't schedule at the most desired date (have to get by with another date). Yet as the moving date got closer, we were surprised by their call. They managed to put us on the most desired date.

I used O'Brien's for a local 30-mile move with items from just a few rooms. The moving specialist was able to provide an estimate to me from just a phone call. The movers arrived on time, were professional and courteous. I had some larger items that required disassembly or were heavy, and they handled those well. The only snag was a scratch to a new hardwood floor in my new home. Fortunately, the movers accepted responsibility for this, and O'Brien's paid my claim to have the floor repaired. Overall, I'm satisfied.

Overall I was very happy with O'Brien's. The intial visit from Josh made us very comfortable with them as a company because we were comfortable with him. As soon as he left, and even though we had contacted other moving companies, we knew we would go with O'Brien's. The price was reasonable and it was really a job they didn't have to take due to the distance. We felt he was very honest and could have tried to charge us more for the type of move, but gave us some advice on how to keep the cost lower by lessening the distance since we would be going from a storage unit to our new house. On the day of the move, the team that showed up was very respectful and dealt with some pretty poor conditions with the snow and ice. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a moving company.

From start to finish O’Briens was professional, efficient, and cost-effective. They delivered everything they promised. The person who came out to coach us on the process and take an inventory of what needed to be moved was extremely helpful and we had total confidence in him. When we had questions before the move, he promptly returned our calls. On the day of the move the movers were courteous and very hard-working. Everything was delivered on the other end quickly and with no damage. We were very pleased with how quickly everything got down to the destination since this was only about a third of a truckload. The cost was reasonable. All in all we could not have asked for more from O’Briens on this move.

This is the second time O'Brien's has moved us and, if we move again, we will use them again -- NO question! Josh was extremely helpful in our planning activities and very responsive to our questions & concerns. The men who handled the physical work were VERY careful and professional. We have found NO scratches, dings or dents. They moved several pieces of VERY heavy woodworking equipment in some fairly miserable weather conditions (Feb. 2021 in central-eastern PA......). They worked VERY hard and were very safe and clean. Overall -- O'Brien's is The Best and we highly recommend them!

Working with O'Brien's was a very positive experience. We moved from PA to VA and all went very smooth! Carmen did our initial quoting and provided a reasonable price especially to pack and move our stuff across states. The quote price did not fluctuate and was a fixed amount that was charged based off his quoting. He was always responsive to emails and phone calls! Tom and Omar did a great job packing our items securely! It took them almost 10 hours to pack our 4 bedroom home but I appreciated the attention to detail. Tom and his 2 helpers (names escape me, sorry) were awesome at loading our stuff onto the semi. It looked like a game of Tetris in there! They unloaded our items in our Virginia home without any damage to any of our items!!! We are very pleased with our moving experience with O'Brien's! 12/1/2021 - Five Stars for the entire company. Great virtual inventory and accuracy by Karen the Salesperson, great accurate pricing. Tom the Lead Driver and his crew were all outstanding. Polite, pleasant, and so helpful and extremely great people. Not one article was damaged it was a move from NJ to Indiana. Tom again had another great crew on the Indiana end, and again they were all pleasant, professional and helpful. Tom is an awesome person and professional. Karen was in touch with me all the time during the interstate move from NJ to Indiana. I highly recommend O'Briens Moving and Storage. The head office team/staff deserves a call out too, they were also in touch with me via emails, phone calls and text messages. Talk about an Honest, Credible company O'Briens is the place to call. My first move with them was Pennsylvania to NJ, and again that move was flawless too. As you know moving is stressful, but these folks, did outstanding and they deserve and earned all ***** Stars. Each aspect of planning and doing the move was handled very well by O'Brien's. An in-person visit was made in advance to assess how much stuff I had. Their pricing was fair, less than a competitive quote. They also provided a second smaller truck at no extra cost to me for a second pickup of extra furniture. I recently moved from King of Prussia, PA to Wilmington, DE. I was living in a one bedroom apartment and I moved into a similar building. I like to live light and easy, so I consider that moving my stuff will be a piece of cake for any moving company. However, I had really bad experiences in the past, so I was concerned about how this will go. From the moment that Aaron showed up at my place to estimate the moving price and explain the process, I knew that I´ll be all right. Honestly, every single person at O´Brien´s was courteous, responsive and helpful. The guys that conducted my move: Fermin, Chuck and Conrat were nice and respectful. They were on time and they did a very fast work wo compromising the integrity of my belongings. Price is fair. You pay the service that you receive and they actually are quite reasonable when charging. I will strongly recommend O´Brien´s to anybody that will be moving soon. It doesn´t matter if your move is small or big, O´Brien´s crew will take care of you!

Wonderful company! Smooth process from start to finish. Staff is professional and we were impressed by the care taken to protect our belongings. We moved 4 hours across state and they picked up our things with their truck and crew and those same guys delivered it to our new home the next day. I had furniture wrapped in protective wrap but did not even need to because of the care they took to wrap things in the truck. Cost was very reasonable.I would HIGHLY recommend O'Brien's Moving to anyone. Should we ever need a moving company again, even for a 20 min move, we will only hire them.

We had to move belongings from a 2bd 2ba condo from PA to NJ and O'Brien's moving made it so easy and seamless. I appreciated that they came over to assess our belongings and advise on cost before moving. We didn't realize how much we had as it filled up a whole truckload. The movers were extremely careful with our furniture and worked really well together to be able to handle delicate items. Everything was packed and moved very well so we didn't even have to unpack our dressers and armories. I would certainly consider them for our moves in the future. Their pricing is fair (a bit on the more expensive side) but for the quality of work done, it is worth it.

We had the best experience in what must be the worst conditions for a mover: 90+ temperatures, humid, without air conditioning. The estimator, Mike, provided a very exact estimate, we were able to schedule in a timely manner, and the office staff were very responsive and professional. On moving day, the movers showed up on time, and immediately got to work. We had them pack our kitchen and it was AMAZING. Everything arrived without a chip or dent. They helped boxing things that were difficult to pack, like mirrors, picture frames and lamp shades. The foreman was very pleasant and easy going, and he seemed to take pleasure in organizing the oddest shaped furniture in the truck. The men spent hours carrying furniture and boxes in the hot sun and I never once heard a complaint. They helped me with anything I asked and were quick to offer helpful solutions when we were exhausted. Unpacking at the new house went super fast and everything was placed exactly where I wanted it quickly and efficiently. I’m honestly very impressed with their services and I don’t think I could have given them a big enough tip. I’ve moved several times from Bucks County, Philadelphia and Delaware County and this was the best moving experience I’ve ever had. I will definitely rely on them in the future.

Moving is a stressful process, but O'Brien's team helped make the experience as stress free as possible. They were efficient, knowlwdgeable and showed a wealth of experience. They brought in an extra truck when needed. They helped us move our outside swing set which was extremely heavy and our basketball hoop filled with sand. They were able to move every item, big or small. They are a well oiled machine and work so well together. Very friendly and nice. Great experience!

I got a few estimates from local businesses based on yelp and google reviews. After having a nightmare moving experience 6 years ago, I was very cautious. I stayed away from the Newark based companies. O’Brien got my business because I felt that the estimate was realistic. It wasn’t the cheapest but I didn’t feel pressured and I knew we had a large enough truck to get the job done. The final bill was about 10% over the estimate, so not bad. We had 20 tons of stuff!!!! They were responsive to my calls anytime I had questions. The driver showed up on time and the crew was respectful, careful and efficient. When we got the NC the only damage was a chair leg which he was able to repair to my satisfaction. Everything else was in the same shape as it was when we left NJ. I would definitely use and recommend O’Brien in the future.

The local move was handled by 3 very courteous and young guys. No issues at all. The long distance move was OUTSTANDING. O'Brien's contracted it out with a different Allied mover. The guys were very good. They knew exactly what to do, and our furniture arrived in great condition. They were absolute professionals. I highly recommend them.

O'Brien Moving moved us from our home of 29 years to a temporary storage unit while our new home is being built. They were outstanding every step of the way. O'Brien's was the best quote we received & the final bill was a little under this quote. The 3 gentleman who moved us were very professional and personable. Once we got to the storage unit there were some challenges, as we had already put a car & some items in the unit. My moving date and delivery date changed no less than 6 times due to issues with the competition of my new home and, Allied worked to accommodate each and every change I made (sometimes daily). Although our move was only five miles away, we previously had some bad experiences with local movers. O'Brien's was about as good as it gets. We had a full house of furniture and well over two hundred boxes to move. They showed up on time, the crew was courteous and efficient and they were absolutely professional in all respects. They loaded our belongings on Tues. and delivered them on Thurs. as scheduled. O'Brien's did an absolutely great job and we could not be more pleased. We would recommend them without hesitation.

I used O'Brien's to move from Lancaster to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Having previously moved from New Zealand to Pennsylvania, I was experienced with moving a household long distances. This move included a 4-brd house plus a workshop. I purchased their packing and moving services, with the maximum deductible on their highest insurance plan. They gave me an estimate that I felt was high, but based on several other quotes from other companies O'Brien's $/lb was on par. The payment option I used was to pay on the estimate and have the contents of the truck weighed, and then get reimbursed for the difference. I started by moving some of my most important possessions myself (safe, computer, etc...) I expect and desire this. I also packed a number of things myself. To save money I built my own crate for some of the most fragile items (something I was going to do anyways for storage). I disassembled all self-assemble furniture per their instructions, which I do think helped a lot with its survival. I also disassembled the bed frames, desk, shelves, workbenches, tools, and any specialty items (this was expected and personally I wanted to do it myself to insure it was done properly!). Day 1, two guys packed %90 of my house in about 7 hrs. Packing was sufficient based on how everything arrived. Final packing and loading the truck took about 5 hrs on day 2. I bought the guys lunch that day as a courtesy. Two plastic container broke when one of the guys put them on the bottom of a large stack and bounced them down the front steps. This was anticipated, but unfortunate. Not enough to claim but common sense would have said put the plastic things on top of the heavy wood cases. Something ALWAYS gets broken when moving, ALWAYS. Fortunately for me, this was the only thing. Some items had a few scrapes/nicks/tears but those objects already had some damage from years of use. Nothing 'special' or 'fragile' got damaged or broken. Day 3 was driving out there. I think I passed the truck on the way, and that makes sense since I was told my load was the only one for that trip. Day 4 was unload. Same driver, different crew. They were local Allied guys, so same parent company, different local branch/company. They were just as competent as the first crew. Truck was unloaded in about 2 hrs which I thought was very fast. It took about 2-3 weeks but I did receive my refund check for the amount I expected. Overall I was pleased. It was much cheaper than the original quote, on par with other lower offers I had previously received. I would recommend O'Brien's so long as you are prepared to dismantle your items, and call out anything that needs special handling. It's worth noting I had gotten an in home estimate a while ago, and when my employer's moving company didn't work out, O'Brien's was able to quickly schedule me in and do the move. I am very thankful for this. We were off peak season (late September) which made this possible. Compared to my previous move and moving company, working with O'Brien's was easier and everything arrived as expected. I would definitely consider using them again. I hope this information was helpful.

This was the second time I used O'Brien's Moving & Storage. The communication to assure a smooth move was incredible. Everyone I spoke to were extremely helpful. The movers were efficient and looked to take good care after all items being moved. Friendly and professional. The reason I gave it four stars was due to the minimum hours for the move. If I moved in the beginning of August it would have been $300 - $400 dollars cheaper, as opposed to the middle/end of August. They claimed it was busier this time of month. However, there was a date open with a crew available. So why should I be charged more if the logistics of the move doesn't change?

Overall good experience. Took several calls to lock in a date but seemed to work well. The paperwork/contract was in hand within a week. The movers showed up as promised that morning and packed up the larger items. NOTHING there broke...so my TVs got here safely. The 2 movers were awesome - they were in and out in 3 hours, only a broken dish and corner of a dresser damaged. Not bad considering the 600 plus mile move. I would use them again, too many brokers trying to sell you a service on trucks they don't own or manage. Too risky for me, I wanted to see my stuff again and not make the evening news as "that guy"

This is the third time that I have used O'Brien's. The crew was prompt and efficient. They were careful to protect our hardwood and tile floors during the entire move. All the household goods were delivered without damage to the furniture, walls, or floors. My only complaint is that the moving crew asked to use our bathrooms at the beginning of the move, which is normally considered unprofessional and something that the crew should not do.

This is a mixed review. Because there was a one week delay between moving out of the old house and into the new house, we dealt with two separate crews. The crew which moved our furniture from the house we sold into storage were very good. Professional, personable, knowledgable and hard working. They did a great job. When the truck arrived at our new home, after a week in storage, it was a new crew and a less pleasant experience. Articles were obviously mishandled while re-packing the truck from storage and the majority of my lamps, which the company packed were broken. One box which, of course, contained my favorite bowls was totally smashed. I did not make a claim as most articles were inexpensive and only of sentimental value. Based on the first half of the move, I would rate them a 5 out of 5. On the second half of the move I would give them a 2.

O'Briens moved us from West Chester to Hilton Head Island, and the whole event was flawless from start to finish. Rob was our coordinator and did a great job assessing our needs for the move. He was resposive to my questions and even took a phone call on Saturday from me. We only had one week's notice and they were able to schedule the move for the day that we needed. The office staff that I dealt with were great as well. On moving day, the team was headed by Mike Hughes who was awesome. All of the guys worked really hard and were careful with our belongings. In Hilton Head, unloading went very well. We had zero damage to our belongings. I was concerned as I have bascially all white furntiure and the weather wasn't great plus a lot of artwork and antiques. I even text Mike the next day as I could not locate something and he answered me immediately as to where to find it. There were some boxes that had been included on my estimate that were not used and I was refunded the amount immediately. I have moved 9 times over the past 30 years, and this was the smoothest one I have done. I highly recommend.

My move was scheduled to occur at 8am. The drivers did not show up until 11am. I kept calling dispatch only for them to tell me that the moving team was on the road. I assumed that they must have been coming pretty far but in reality they were 35 minutes away. Never received an apology or call regarding their tardiness. Once the movers arrived they were great! They moved very fast and were nice. They introduced themselves and shook my hand. I did find it odd that one of the movers kept asking me for a beer when he saw some being moved into my house. I think they should really come prepared for their day. Overall, I would use them again. Some hiccups but overall great move.

Of the four movers I received estimates from, not only was O'Brien's the best price, Mike was the only estimator who arrived at the time he said he would be there. Doesn't give you a great first impression of the other firms when the move estimator can't even get there on time. The estimate included a rough itemized list of each room - again the only company to provide that. The movers were three of the hardest working men I've ever seen, they worked their tails off and hustled the whole time. There was one piece of furniture that was damaged during the move, accidents happen. The claim process to get compensated was also extremely easy and friendly with O'Brien's. Couldn't be happier and would recommend O'Brien's to anyone needing movers.

I had a slim opening of two weeks to move at the end of July, one of the busiest times to move. I was located a few hundred miles away and the company had nobody available to move me at first. However, they were flexible and able to come out with a schedule for packing/delivery that worked for me by contracting a sister company out. The move worked out pretty smoothly, nothing damaged. The 3 men that came to my house were rock stars! Ervin, David and Jesse worked for twelve hours to get my two houses moved into a third. They were unfailingly polite and professional on this very long, nearly 90 degree day. Just moved into our new house by way of O’Briens movers. I’m a real straight shooter and I felt I had to tell other people having the stress of looking for a moving company about O’Briens Moving. I had originally called O’Briens and 2 other local movers with similar review ratings on google. Each one sent an estimator to the house and gave me a quote. Being that my move was only about 30 miles , it was considered a local move. The morning of the move there were 2 trucks outside our house right on time. It was a 5 man crew and the lead man was Vince. Their politeness and respect was only matched by their knowledge and efficiency of moving. They took great care from shrink wrapping all the furniture to not gouging or scraping any walls or surfaces. On the flip side they placed every piece of furniture and box its appropiate place. Even when we told them to place something somewhere mistakenly, they moved it a second time to the approprite place without hesitation when asked. I rarely write a review for anything , but I would not feel right if I didn’t give O’Brien’s and Vince &crew the accolades they deserve. P.S. I ended up write a check for $100 less than my quote due to early completion of the move. Hope this helps someone else ...

The crew showed up on time and ready to work. They loaded the truck efficiently and respectfully. They were friendly, very strong, and handled boxes, furniture and some very heavy woodworking equipment from my home hobby shop. Delivery was the next day and they let us know that traffic was heavy and they would be a little late. Communication with the crew both during loading and unloading was excellent. They placed each item in the room we designated and negotiated stairs both up and down as needed. They even took things to the shed in the back yard, a bit of a hike. We liked the crew and this service is recommended without reservation.

Our service was outstanding. We had a simple move. A one bedroom apartment, and a 10x10 storage unit. The guys that moved us were great. Very efficient, very nice. They completed our move in about 5 hours, placed everything where we wanted it to go, and found a way to move our large sofa in through an incredibly small hallway without a single scratch on either the walls and the sofa. This service was GREAT, and we will definitely use them again if the need arises. The only critique that I have is that there is an 8 hour minimum. We knew we weren't going to be close, but with the price so affordable anyhow, we didn't care. We couldn't move all our stuff in 5 hours along with getting it into the rooms we wanted, so we were fine with the cost.

On Sept 6, 2014 O'Briens moved our belongings from Allentown to Northampton. We are New Yorkers, and have lived in Allentown for the last 5 years and we didn’t get any referrals to help us decide which company to use to move us. I read some of the reviews of other sites for this company and others. We knew to take everything with a grain of salt, and we were a little worried about doing this move as due to injury I was unable to assist in preparation. Our Allentown apt was on the second floor and we were moving to a first floor place. We had heavy and also large pieces of furniture and electronics that gave us fits bringing upstairs in the first place. Our experience with O’Briens was absolutely wonderful. Everything that happened, starting with the estimate, the 3 guys moving us, caring for our stuff, working with us to have some items given to friends who wanted them, dis/re-assembling our beds and other pieces, and of course their personal touch, all combined to make this the best moving experience we’ve ever had. The movers and the back office worked together to keep the overall moving expense to be under the estimated budget. I will always recommend O’Briens.

This is the first time I have hired movers because I was always concerned that my belongings would be damaged if I didn't do it myself. I have to say I am glad I decided to use O'Brien's. The three guys who came to load were extremely conscientious when loading my belongings. I felt everything would safely make the trip across the state. When they arrived in Pittsburgh to unload into my new house there were only 2 of them which had me concerned but they worked quickly and diligently to unload everything on Friday night and that is with an uphill driveway and 14 steps just to get to the front door from the truck. I would certainly recommend O'Brien's to anyone moving to or from the Lehigh Valley.

My family and I had a great experience with Obrien's. As affiliated with Allied, the initial consultation was a huge benefit, and the consultant (Rob Deering) was professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. The movers were hard-working, careful, and efficient. They managed to load and unload every piece of our home without a single element of damage or mishap. The unloading day was also extremely hot, but they managed to maintain a positive attitude and get us moved in and furniture placed in our new home just as we wanted it. They were also very patient with our children and family friends who were with us during the move in day (and very interested to check out what they were up to). The only small issue was regarding start time for loading and unloading days. As they are located in Allentown, it took some time--through traffic--to arrive for loading, and unloading day also started later as our new residence required passage through Northern VA and some D.C. traffic. Otherwise, we are thrilled to have been helped by Mike, Mike and Carlos.

I honestly have to say I was thrilled with O'Brien's for our move last month. I was a little afraid when I had to call Karen up and ask her to delay our move date yet again that she would be annoyed, but she handled my request (the third postponement) with a smile. Once we finally closed on our house, the O'Brien's team showed up and got to work. Those guys really earned their pay that day. They even carried a 600 pound piano up the stairs from our basement! (Although they probably don't want to repeat that feat any time soon.) They weren't fast which worried me a bit, but they took so much care with our things, that I was glad they didn't rush. No walls were scratched, nothing was damaged, and they were even friendly with my curious boys. We were glad to see most of the same crew for the move-in 3 days later. Although I don't plan to move any time soon, I would gladly choose O'Brien's again.

The estimator told us that the mattresses would be wrapped and sealed in disposable wrappers and protected all the way to the destination. There was a separate and significant charge for the mattress wrapping service on the estimate, which gave us further impression that the crew would take great care packing them. Instead, the movers used reusable unsealed wrappers that were thrown around mattresses in a minute, unwrapped mattresses while still on the truck at the destination and dragged them through the hallways and stacked mattresses in the building hallway before finally brining them into the apartment. My advice - wrap and seal your mattresses yourself, don't rely on O'Brian's crew to do a good job there. Besides of this, a few furniture pieces got scratched during the move, leather couch was dragged through the building doorways unprotected. We will not use O'Brien's again.

Somewhat disappointing. I expected better protection for my furniture than just blankets...I was promised bubble wrap for television and stereo. There was also a matter of a discrepancy in cost and the rep was difficult to reach. I had to pay at the empty house and did not have the opportunity to check my furniture for damages since the drivers were not about to drive back and I over tipped not realizing there scratches and other damages. Overall, I would not use this company again. Also, the rep promised six hours of work, therefore, if there time left, I could ask them to help move furniture around....they refused. Should not promise something you cannot deliver. I do not blame the movers, I blame the company.

Staff and estimator "John" were very helpful and knowledgeable. Although, the movers who packed were efficient there was some damage to furniture during loading. This could have been prevented had they brought the proper tools to dismantle the furniture pieces. On the unload end, again the men were efficient but there was additional damage that occurred somewhere between Philadelphia and Florida. As a retired business person I would suggest that O'Brien review the quality of the actual loaders and unloaders.

Our family recently relocated from Lancaster to western PA. The crew, led by a gentleman named Bruce, was great. They had our entire townhouse loaded within 4 hours. The next morning, they arrived at our new house around 8:30 in the morning, and had everything unloaded and set up in the house by 1 p.m. I wish we could have hired them to unpack! The only issue we had was with our dining room table. It must have had stuff stacked on top of it, and the legs on one side of it started to separate from the table. It is old and I should have told them to stack it on top, upside down. Other than this issue, they were great. The estimate was a little more weight than we actually had, but was pretty close to being accurate. I would use O'Brien's again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable moving company.

The movers that Obrien's used weree beyond excellent. I've never seen guys move so fast and yet be so careful.They actually saved us several hrs under what was estimated. We were SO impressed and SO glad we had called Obrien's for our move. We would definitely use them again. The only thing that was disconcerting was trying to get ahold of the agent to get a price. We were down to the wire of just a few days and still hadn't gotten the info we needed from the agent. When we finally connected with him he was helpful, very pleasant, and told us what we needed to know but he never appologized for not answering our messages. And he told us he would order 10 wardrobes for us and we would only get charged for the ones we used. When the movers arrived the agent shad not ordered ANY wardrobes. Fortunately the young men had two on the truck that they always carry and after they were full they wrapped our clothes in pads and transported them that way.So he was the weak link in the chain; it scared us but we decided to go on with the move using Obriens and it turned out very well.

Ok, 5 stars. To be truthful it didn't start out that way. First this is a review for a move in May 2018. I thought I had posted one back then, but do not see it so ... We moved from Berks to Northampton county in early May. Our "coordinator" Rob screwed up and we there we sat one Saturday waiting for our movers who did not show. I called and found out we were not on the dispatch board and the earliest they could get to us was Monday. 1 Star right there, right? The dispatcher, who's name I believe was ... Kevin(?), apologies, but remember I posted this before, said he would get his best crew out to us first thing to help make up for this major screwup. Ok, this where the 5 stars kick in. Monday morning Mike, Derek, Doug and Dakota showed up on time and ready to work. And they worked! These guys had a system and treated everything with care, including placing cardboard to protect flooring. We had two locations we were dropping off at, the Apartment and storage and they combat loaded the truck accordingly based on a detailed walkthru on arrival. So at the end of the day everything worked out. We plan to use them again when/if we can ever move into the house we are building. To reiterate. 1 star for the coordinator Rob who may have difficulty coordinating a visit of sailors to a house of ill repute. 5 stars for Kevin for working with us. 5 stars for me when this all went south and remained polite (at least "on camera") 5 stars for Mike, Derek, Doug and Dakota. Technically 3.67 stars overall excluding my score, but I was pleased with the guys work, so 5 it is. Will likely update with the next move.

I moved from a 2-bedroom apt. in Northeast Phila. to a 1-bedroom in Center City. This was my first move in 32 years. I picked a really bad rainy, windy day. They called to say they'd be a little late what with the weather and all, but, when they got there, they were incredibly efficient and competent. Carlos, Mike, & Mike really know their business. They moved everything out in less than two hours and, when I got to the new apt., they were already there bringing stuff in. They were a pleasure to do business with and, on top of that, the charge turned out to be about 1/3 less than the original estimate. Moved from PA to Florida, Loaded truck on Thursday morning they said driver would arrive on Monday. we hightailed it to Florida. Monday came received word the truck broke down they would need to lease a new truck and would be Tuesday. Tuesday came and I called driver and was told they broke down again in Jacksonville, FL and needed to lease another truck. said it would now be Wednesday for arrival. pulled in at 6:30 PM Wednesday night. my concern was the weight using multiple trucks with all different weights. did I pay more than I should have? Had to contact O'brians to ask what weigh was and it took them 2 weeks to get back to me. with the information. tipped the driver and helper $50.00 each .

Three O'brien guys moved my stuff Aug. 27, '12. They showed up exactly on time, helped me pack, and got me moved in, with stuff where I wanted it, efficiently and without damage (and I had three desdtop pc's, with printers, monitors, etc., plus a large-screen tv. Their estimator came out beforehand, gave me a written estimate, and they charged me the amount of the estate, which was charmingly modest. They do charge a minimum number of hours per day, which increases from 4 hours ($128/hr for three men and the truck) to 8 toward the end of the calendar months, and it took the guys who moved me less time than the minimum. I'm not complaining, though, as I was pleased, and would def use Obriens again.

The booking process was a bit frusturating, but once everything was in place, and the in home estimate was made and received, I was extremely satisfied with the overall service I received. The two men that helped me move from my apartment in Center City Philadelphia to the Pocono Mountains were great! (Even with walking up four flights of narrow steps). Overall, great experience and would recommend.
