Beautiful area, nice place for jogging , walking , biking. Limited parking available nearby or street side parking is available near by places but a bit of walk. A very nice naturalistic , heavy shaded area and love the peoples energy and zest.

I’ve been here for a few years now. It’s an amazing place if you just want to take a walk or jog. The homes are beautiful and looks lovely lit up at night. The people are very nice and friendly. Just an overall pleasant and beautiful area.

We enjoyed our morning exploring Fairmount Park and the Schuyllkill Trail. We had seen Boathouse Row from I-76 (other side of the river) many times but never up close. The architecture is original and I imagine the history of each build/club is very unique. However, I was disappointed with the overall maintenance and upkeep of the structures and area in general.

Great place for a quick stop while travel on the Schuylkill River Trail. I was across the river on Martin Luther King Boulevard, I prefer to use the MLK-B on the weekends when it is blocked off from vehicle traffic.

The problem with this part of the Schuylkill river trail is that it's very crowded. Lots of bikes, joggers, strollers, kids, tourists. It's scenic enough, but you definitely need to keep an eye out if you're trying to exercise or even just keep moving.

Walk, run or bike along Schuylkill river trail to reach beautiful boathouse row area. Pack some snacks and enjoy while you leisurely sit on one of the green spaces between boathouses. Sunset time is the best to visit this location as they turn their decorative lights on right after sunset and the reflection in water looks magnificent. You can also enjoy a good view of Philly downtown from boathouse row.

I use Google Maps/Photos to find local areas to photograph. I researched Boathouse Row and was attracted to the different areas along the banks of the Schuylkill River and the Martin Luther King bridge. I chose late afternoon to catch a good sunset. I also included a screen shot of the map I used with red dots of where the photos were taken. The last photo ended with a Philadelphia skyline shot from the bridge during the "blue" phase of sunset.

🆓 public parking lot(2 hours) nice park family(& pet) friendly wide path for walking, 🏃jogging, or 🚴bicycling. There is a porta potty in the parking lot. A cool (modern) 🚰drinking fountain designed 4 U & your pet🐢 @ the beginning, a skate park maybe 1/3 down and then a small🚽restroom about 1/2 way down. The trail does not loop around: you just hit a wall🔚, turn around ↪️, & go back the way you came. I've never seen a bike path that goes under 🌉🌉bridges, between 🚂locomotives and a ⛵river. Very 🆒 design😎👍

Great place to walk or run. You can go up (walk or run) right next to the river fora few miles. Great view, good exercise. If you want hills you can just run up next to Malta boathouse and the boathouse themselves are beautiful.

I live in fairmount. Just a little bit away from boathouse road. It is a awesome place to visit if you live in the city or visit in the city. There is a lot to do you can ride bicycles jog run sightsee have a picnic etc etc. I must see at night time from the other side of the river the lights come on all the boat houses and it is a awesome thing to say. Five stars all the way they must see

Great spot for a number of activities. First of all, its a must see just because its an iconic view of the Schuylkill River. All of the different colored boathouses in a row look pretty cool. At night they are lit with Christmas style lights that can change colors with the seasons or for sports teams or whatever they choose. There are benches for sitting and people watching if that's your thing. You can rent bikes to ride along the paved River trail, or grab a snack at the small snack shop. All day and into the evening, you will see people strolling, biking or jogging all along the row and farther down the trail. Its right next to the art museum and the equally neat Water Works. Hit all three while you are in the area.

A spectacular and notorious location of Philadelphia. It can be accessed by foot, bike, or other modes of transportation. There is parking near by, and an accessible pedestrian path that is wide enough for all accomodations. It's a wonderful spot regardless of the time of day. Need a refresher or some live entertainment? There is the Cosmic Cafe (women owned small business), public restrooms in Lloyd Hall, as well as Parks on tap that pops up seasonally when you make your way towards the art museum.

Went biking here with my kids and it was a nice get away. Not that crowded and we found free parking and could use the bathrooms when we were done. The kids and I got ice cream when we were done. There is also a beer garden.

Sandwiched between Kelly Drive and the Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park, Boathouse Row features Lloyd Hall recreation center and historic rowing clubs claiming the next 10 buildings all the way to the Sedgely Club, a private social enclave, which rounds out the Row. Each club is a member of the Schuylkill Navy of Philadelphia, the oldest amateur athletic governing body in America. East Park Canoe Club and the Philadelphia Canoe Club maintain headquarters a bit farther down the river.

One of the hidden gems of Philadelphia. It connects to the Waterworks that has an event hall. Where you can have weddings or any other event. It is behind the azalea garden where a lot of people take wedding pics. Water works connects to the Art Museum.There are paved running, biking, skating paths that run up past falls bridge down to South street. The connect directly to the Skate park. Plenty of bathrooms, food trucks, bike and surrey rentals.

Very nice place to walk your dog or take a run in the morning. The stretch along the river is beautiful, especially at night when houses are outlined and decorated with strings of lights. The Schuylkill is also the place for most crew (rowing) competitions/races, so it can be a very lively place.

The GOOD Now

One of our favorite places to take a bike ride! This is where the boat teams from the local colleges come to practice on the water. When the weather is nice you will find lots of people on the grass having picnics and such while the teams practice!

Walking along the river is already great, but these historic buildings, carefully adorned with string lights, make it even better. Come early and you might catch to rowers practicing. Come later and you can see the Christmas lights dance off the water. It's a win win

Wonderful piece of active history. The houses are all still very much active and host a variety of competitions throughout the year. Some of the clubs require referrals but several also provide entry-level training if needed.

An iconic Philly "must see . Make sure to see it both during the day, and at night, when each house is outlined in lights. Take in the riverside cafe next door and be sure to go to the Philadelphia Art Museum which is within walking distance. Tour the pump house at the water works while you're there as well.

Amazing place to practice the art of rowing in a historical place known as the birthplace of American rowing! Row in a place in place magnificently depicted by Thomas Eakins in his rowing paintings! If you are in Philadelphia do not miss visiting Boathouse Row, also, the home of the oldest active rowing club in the country, Bachelors Barge Club, founded in 1853!

Boathouse Row is a very famous landmark to Philadelphians. Located along the east bank of the Schuylkill River, it in known for having all pf the boathouses outlined in lights at night, providing a lovely sight from across the river. The boathouse we visited (#10) for a party hosted by friends was picturesque and a lovely party space with a great balcony overhanging the river offering a pictureaque view of the city center.
