Dont use this place if you have a job!!!!! This place has the worst business hours as a user of this facility it is uber frustrating. The time listed online is only for the office hours to accept payment. Ohhhh you will stay open to receive a payment but not for us to actually use your storage space. The hours are when people are at work which makes nooooo sense. I GAVE IT 5 STARS SO THAT YOU CAN SEE THIS POST BECAUSE THEY HAVE BAD RATING PROTECTION AND YOU WOULDNT HAVE SEEN IT OTHERWISE 😡

Great storage facility in Newark. Gated facility with set hours on when you can get access into the units. The facility is very clean and taken care of. The units are nice as well. The only downfall is there is only one level you can drive your car in with two lanes: one to park and one to exit. So during busy peaks it’s hard to find a spot to park your car without having to block the exit lane which can be a pain to have to repark

I visited quite a few storage facilities, even other Extra Space Storage locations before finding this particular one at 50 Gould Avenue in Newark. When I tell you, the customer service is impeccable, the facility is immaculate and nothing compares to the drive in capability they have. The facility is clean, safe and in a class all of its own. I've only had the opportunity to meet Ann and Milton and they both went out of their way to make sure my needs were met. When they say "I've saved the best for last" I truly have. I love this place and if you decide to choose it, you'll love it too.

Place is nice...service was great. Offloading can be a challenge especially when moving in and out..it would be helpful to consider reservations or allowing for elevator holding when doing a big move. But I'm pleased with my storage space.

One guy named Matt closed early and constantly lied to me about letting me in even though I arrived 15 minutes before closing. He was rude and mocking. I only had to drop off three boxes and turn the rented truck in. Milton and Tony are fine employees and always a pleasure to deal with.

Tony the property manager is amazing! The place is extremely secure. You put your special code in upon entering, the elevator and leaving. It is climate controlled and it has drive up access where it is completely covered. Which is great rainy, snowy or cold days. Happy I am storing here!

It's a decent storage facility. Clean, dry, and rent various size units. There only problem is parking to visit your unit. The cars get jammed up in the driveway often and someone has to be relentless in keeping visitors from leaving their cars parked in the wrong place. Good pricing. After a rocky start due to communication difficulties, perpetuated by the corporate office no less, the team at Gould Ave are very good at what they do. The take the time to not only answer questions (sometimes redundant) and help you find the best deal for your needs, but they also cleaned up and clarified all of our previous concerns and problems that we were having.

The staff here is very helpful and Courteous however if you choose to get the Internet price the Internet price is only good for six months which a lot of people down there I’ve been there for over 18 months and I’ve had to change my storage unit several times because the price is only good for 6 months ; which means the price literally doubles in price so if the internet price is $168 for a10x10 unit on the 5th month the price almost doubles becoming $338 a month! I love that it is climate controlled and is clean but there a lot things that would discourage me from storing with them again!

Matt is a professional manager that provided excellent customer service. When moving my belongings into my storage unit, there were multiple groups of other people moving in as well and the environment quickly became hectic. As it was nearing the end of storage hours, people became stressed and visibly upset. That said, Matt was able to manage multiple groups, all stressed, in a very confident, professional manner. He remained poised and addressed everyone's questions and concerns in a calm manner. He is definitely a leader and prioritizes customer service above everything else. That customer service is the reason for why I will stick with this facility versus patronizing other facilities closer to my residence.

They are very friendly. Helpful when there's enough people working. Clean for the most part. Not happy at all that my monthly rate went up. They gave some lame explanation. Nothing has improved in 5 months or so that I have had the storage bin. They have mouse traps in the hallways. Understandably. The garbage left outside the facility is terrible. Couch, boxes, toys, clothes, etc. The establishment should have a better way to be able to handle a problem like that. All of it is left right at the exit of the building. Its a one-way going North and there are houses all the way South of the street on both sides. I seriously doubt the folks right next door are putting garbage to that extent regularly. I'll probably contact the City of Newark to come clean if it's like that again my next visit because it is that bad.

Extra Space thankfully has a secure facility that is well maintained and isolated enough that there aren't a lot of busy bodies hanging around the area. It's great that all of the loading and unloading is done indoors so you're not freezing in the winter and burning in the summer. --Cons: the employees get snippy and act like you work for them, not the other way around --If I'm paying close to $200/month , I expect the convenience of having a dumpster on site vs being forced to cart trash around in my car

This is one of the best and cleanest Storage Facilities in the Tri-state area. I had the privilege of being assisted by Toshia and Victor. In one of my visits another customer was moving in and in the midst of it all there were bugs on the furniture being moved in and Toshia was on the scene before the furniture got in the storage unit. She began to spray and bugs went everywhere. I say this because the staff was concerned about the entire facility. Quality at it best... The Real Ghost Buster and Terminator.
