Efficient and great customer service! I spoke with Keri and she helped me find my unit, set up a code, and answered all of my questions. She was extremely thoughtful about what I needed leading up to moving into my unit and offering advice. I had accidentally purchased the wrong unit size and upon my arrival the transfer to a larger unit was so quick and easy. I definitely recommend this location and the people here are lovely. Be sure to check them out if you need storage. And no need to go to UHaul, they have boxes, packing tape, and mattress covers. Overall, it was a wonderful experience

Floors were clean and the place smelled fresh. Nice feeling to have as a first time impression. Kerry and the other young lady greeted me with a smile into the office. Kerry was very professional and knowledgeable. She showed us the unit to get our approval and then she walked me through the paperwork. Kerry took time to explain everything patiently and clearly including the elevators access. It made me feel great that we were leaving our belongings at this establishment! Would definitely recommend this place.

I have been using a leading storage facility in NY (2 units) for over 11yrs. The past few years this particular company has really been lacking in customer service and over cleanliness and etiquette. A very close associate recommended I call Extra Space Storage. I went to two different locations and the second location at 58 W 143rd street felt like home. Eric was beyond kind, his customer service was outstanding and his ability to listen to my concerns and needs of my storage unit put me at ease. I originally went in to tour only 2 units and Eric convinced me to tour 5 units just so I could see more options. I left with a reservation set for the following day to move into my new storage unit. I have a great feeling this entire staff will continue to be extremely accommodating and helpful and I’m looking forward to my new storage home.

Had to get a storage. Mom is coming to visit so had to get rid of the clutter. Just needed a small storage and they had the perfect size for a very good price. So far the price jumped 2x in 4 months. Looks like I'll be looking for a new spot before i make a year and they'll be charging double or even triple the price.

We had a wonderful experience here. Jay from the start was extremely helpful, and pleasant. We made a reservation the night before and come the next morning he contacted us right when they opened. We arrived onsite an hour later, to view the unit in person before paying. Seeing the unit confirmed that it was a great size for us. Then we headed to the office to pay, and sign the paperwork. April 2022 5 stars There seems to be a totally new staff in place with a totally new customer centric attitude. Moving is one of life's most stressful events and the current staff is courteous and reasonably helpful. June 2020 Rating 1 star The staff has become exceptionally hostile in the past few months. Imagine spending hours moving and then being told you cannot use the bathroom in a time when you are constantly reminded to wash your hands. What really was annoying was a teenage staffer yelling at me that I could not use the on-site dumpster to dispose of a few boxes. The boxes had been folded and took little space, but this employee threatened to add a cleaning fee. Closing time also has become a variable recently. Always earlier than posted according to who is working that day. If you bring your car or moving truck there on the weekend you may have a hard time finding space. The dirt bikes and ATVs block up marked and unmarked areas to perform maintenance and chat with their friends. After you have rented your space, it's as though you become an enemy unless they are scared of you. In the beginning I would have rated the staff a 5.

I've been a tenant here for just about a month. From the start until now, everything has been great. The facility itself is somewhat older than other self-storage places. Despite this, everything is in working order, the building is kept very clean inside and out and floors are quiet without guys stocking merchandise yelling all the time. On the other hand, the other workers who were present seemed like they didn't have any work to do; they were just sitting/standing around talking and cackling. Customers, in my opinion, should never see this behavior-everyone should be doing something productive. Also, there was an incident that was very unnerving for me. Much later, perhaps 2 hours after Joel had completed my transaction, I called the front desk to ask for assistance-I couldn't open the locker. I eventually was able to figure things out for myself as I waited 20 minutes without assistance. And, no one called me back to make sure that I was okay. This becomes problematic if I REALLY needed help.

Nancy Martinez helped me secure a storage space at this facility when it was not even the location she normally worked at. I was informed 2 days before I was supposed to move that my new apartment would not be available yet so I was put in a really terrible spot. She helped me snag a one month lease on a storage space where as long as I moved my stuff out before the deadline I only had to pay a small insurance/space fee. Nancy was not only courteous and professional but upbeat and easy to talk to as well. He apologised for the wait, I told him what I was interested in, he introduced himself as Carl, and we proceeded from there. I've stored with this location of Extra Space Storage before and I am currently storing with them. I've always received friendly, honest straight forward customer service. My items have always been safely stored and never damaged. I never felt uncomfortable or weird about entering the building. The security seems pretty top notch. It's pretty much exactly what you want in a storage company, a clean secure space, with nice professional people to help you. The only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is the hours Monday through Friday are a little tight. It would be nice if they were open until 7 or 8pm to give you a little more buffer time if you work a regular job. Or possibly open a little earlier. Other than that I've been very satisfied with their service.

I was assisting a good friend with his storage space on the 21st of January at the 143rd street location. After we were done, while paying the bill, we encountered a 76 year old lady who was told that employees are not allowed to touch the tenants items. She was alone, recovering from back surgery and chemotherapy with no help except a female taxi driver who made several trips and dumping her belongings in the parking lot. She did not speak English and ask my friend and I if we could help. Long story short, It was the first time my friend and I ever met this lady. What was supposed to be one trip to her unit became several. It was already closing time and announcements were being made. The taxi driver dumped more stuff in the parking lot resulting in her needing an additional unit. I approached the young man (Kaleb Wilson) closing out his till and explained the situation to him. I explained that I had never met this lady before. I explained that me being a good Samaritan for that day was completely random and that he was under no obligation to help. I told him that I am aware every company has policies and procedures for varying situations. I asked the young man that all I wanted was know how he could be of any assistance without violating any of his company’s policies. He could have given various reason as to why he could not help. E.g. “Sorry we’re closed”, “I’m off the clock”, “There’s nothing I can do” etc. Instead he rented the lady an additional unit. He escorted us upstairs and allowed us to place the lady’s last few items in her new unit which only took 10 additional minutes. Most other people would have been reluctant to assist instead of being a problem solver and trying to find a solution. I could see that Kaleb wanted to go home yet at the same time was contemplating solutions. Which ultimately, he found one. Kaleb is a thinker and problem solver. He demonstrated a willingness to go above, beyond and be helpful. In an era where many people are reluctant to be kind and show empathy there was no irritation in his tone for helping. He was not rude about it either. He was calm and collected. He stated what he could do to help and kindly emphasized that we be quick. If there was more I could do to commend this young man on behalf of this lady I would. I doubt she would have typed any letter of commendation as she did not speak English, but she was truly grateful. Please commend Kaleb for his excellent customer service skills. With 20 years in Guest Service and Operations combined I have seen that Kaleb is a Rockstar who has demonstrated the potential to be a big part of any organization that employs him.

I was not sure if I was going to need a storage space or not, and Milton Donoso put a hold on one for me which made it easier later on when it became clear that I had to rent the unit. He was very courteous and so helpful. The fact that Milton and the entire staff at this location provided such great customer service played a major role on my decision to use this storage company. Moving is usually very stressful, so to find a professional and kind person to deal with was indeed a blessing! Thank you very much!

This place is absolutely wonderful. I walked around because there are other places in the area. The customer service and the cleanliness of this storage place is beyond comparison to the other ones. The young lady who assisted me was extremely knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I recommend this storage facility for anyone in the area who needs to store items.
