First and foremost, this review is in response to the business practices of Extra Space Storage, not the great staff they have on site - the staff is 5 stars. I've been a renter here for around a year or so, and I've sized down units once because I use the unit for business and didn't need all of the space in the original unit - and the price increases were a bit ridiculous. The transfer process went smoothly thanks to the wonderful staff team. There has been a complete turnover of staff in the year-ish amount of time I've been renting. The old staff wasn't bad, but the new manager Brittany is wonderful and always willing to take the time to answer a question or help out. The new staff is consistently FIVE STARS every time I talk with them. What is frustrating is the business practices of this company. I just received another postcard in the mail saying market rates have changed and that my rates are going up by 35%. My business can absorb that for now, but if it were me as an individual, it would be hard to budget. Having rented from them for this amount of time, I know that this is just the first rate hike. More are coming. I've stayed because they have a few things I like (loading dock, conditioned space, covered parking, 24h access), but I worry about people who see all the 5 star reviews and sign on with one price thinking they can commit to that - and then a month later they get into the price hike game. It's predatory, and not based on anything legitimate - if it were, there would be a breakdown of how they go about pricing when you ask to see it. I hope Extra Space uses the money in the current rate hikes to give Brittany and her team raises so they stay long term and continue to manage the building at the level they have been.

I had this storage facility for 10 years and no longer have a need for it. My experience has been a good one. The space has always been dry and there were never any concerns about break-ins. I never had to worry about my things. I have been dealing with Jeremiah as I terminate my lease. He’s been excellent to work with, personable and conscientious. I was a little worried about their reaction once I decided to give notice. I shouldn’t have been. Jeremiah was a complete professional. I’d definitely return.

Brittany and Jeremiah were such a great help. I was informed via email that I was moved out of my unit when I hadn’t checked out. They called me, I drove over and Brittany was able to recover my account (although out of the system) with the same entry code and unit. I was so relieved that they were able to do all of this for me and even throw in a free month for the hassle. They were so professional and I don’t think there’s a better place to store at. I also lost my keys and they were able to cut the lock for FREE.

I rented a unit with this company and due to some personal circumstances I never actually used the unit. I was charged for 2 months although I didn’t get to use the unit. The manager Britney was extremely understanding and actually went out of her way to make sure I was well taken care of. 5 out of 5 recommend and would use them for sure the next time I need extra storage space 👍🏾

Absolutely loooove this place. So i brought about 3 storages from uhaul and anytime i needed help no one was ever around i mean EVER!!! I had to use 3 different codes to get in one building which i understand the security but i shoukd at least be able to take the elevator with one code. The manager was never around or never returned my calls. When i first cane to extra space storage Britney was AMAZING!!!!! She helped me right away and even worked with me to find the prefect storage for all my belongings. I wish i found this place first!

I moved to Milwaukee 3 yrs ago and I used their facility until I moved again which was recently a day ago. The place is heated in winter and cool in the summer months which was good for my dj equipment and vinyl and storing brand new furniture for 3 yrs. I highly recommend if your looking for storage use these guys.

Love this facility and the staff! Winter move into the storage area was a breeze as you just roll the truck into the climate controlled and super-clean building. Move-out was just as easy and they have dumpsters on-site for the things that you find you no longer need. Simple things like having a bathroom available when you have several people helping you move is amazing too. Highly recommend.

Does what it supposed to and that is store your stuff in extra space. Only problem is their is one normal sized elevator and it is kind of slow so you need to take multiple trips if you have many things to gather. Location has carts on the bottom floor you can take up with you to carry large and heavy items from floor to floor.

I’m very pleased with this service and prices here. The worker, Anthony (I believe) was very knowledgeable. Initially I requested to reserve the space online and he called me within 10 minutes of reserving the space to see what time worked best with me to come to see it before I buy it. He was a very nice guy and was actually easy to talk to, not only that, he was very helpful because this was my first time renting. He helped me save as much money as I could. Also a plus, the storage spaces are cheaper than all the other places in the area. The place itself is a nice place. I’d highly suggest checking it out.

I purchased some units I won in a auction here that she helped me with and even helped me get my own personal unit for a price I couldn’t turn down. THE BEST STORAGE FACILITY IN MILWAUKEE NO QUESTIONS ASKED and the best facility I have used in the 4 states I have needed to rent a unit. Accessibility is best in class, clean units with controlled temperature, and the staff is wonderful to work with. Moving is never something people love to go through but Extra space storage makes the process painless. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I have a unit here and like an idiot I forgot a few items behind by the elevator. Didn’t realize til I was back home, came back and they were gone. Someone thought they were free for the taking..I came back to see if the on duty employees could help me out in any way. Every single staff member is helpful, cheerful and always go out of thier way to help you in any way they can and they always do it with a smile and a great attitude. The building and restrooms are always clean and neat with everything where it belongs, no trash or clutter in common areas. Even the locker doors are clean and free of grime and dirt!! This place does a lot of things right. You can drive into the building wither virtually any size vehicle and load/unload with the carts that are provided. The units are climate controlled and seem quite secure. The office staff is quite nice, and they have complimentary snacks and coffee/tea machine(also complimentary). Unfortunately I qualified for a promotion of signing up for automatic payments, and was never credited with the money. Also, they do not prorate for partial months. I moved my stuff in on the 26 of the month because of certain circumstances and moved out on the 1st, but had to pay for entire month. I will say that their prices are quite competitive and it is a great value for what you get compared to the competition.

He made sure we were choosing the right size storage unit. He answered any/all of our questions regarding the storage facility and terms of the storage agreement. One of the cleanest and best maintained storage facilities I've seen -- and I've lived in a lot of places from California to New York, so I've used a wide range of storage facilities. It's easy to get to, yet just enough out of the way to avoid any traffic or congestion. Simple entry and exit, yet very secure. The people that I've dealt with there are always very nice and helpful. Unlike freestanding, outdoor units, these are units within a re-purposed old building that is solid, and that means added safety and protection from all the elements. Many of my neighbors use this storage facility, too, and have had the same experiences.

Buyer Beware: My experience is that while this facility is just like every other storage location -- in terms their offering -- they hook you in with pricing, and then start nickel and diming you. We have had a storage unit for less than 6 months and they have already raised our monthly rental fee. This is insane. Additionally, if you have a larger size moving truck, you cannot get close to the elevators, nor is their "dock" able to accommodate a larger moving truck.
