Had to clean out two storage units from a deceased family member. Arrived to smiles and great attitudes from the front desk. We spent 9 hours with 5 people working to load up our 29ft Penske rental truck. Please note, this facility does not provide trash cans, dumpsters or trash removal service. You must take all trash with you, hence our giant truck. Worked 4pm-1am and got everything out. Had many questions and Carly and April were very knowledgeable and answered everything. Another note: Access is 6am-10pm. If you have to load later than 10pm, you can get OUT but you cannot get back IN. There is room for a 29ft truck to pull in (see pic) but you must back out, not pull through, to exit. Probably any truck.over 25ft will need to exit in reverse. Very clean and cared for. Bathroom access for members. Inside and outside storage access available. If I lived in the Lansing area and needed storage, this would be my choice. Great job!

So I recently got a unit here after another storage facility left me waiting for about 5 hours and never showed up. So I call extra space and met chaz. Dude he is a great guy and extremely helpful. He always confronts you with a smile and when he ask how can I help you.... He actually means he wants to help. The place is up to date, clean and just over all well looked after. I would recommend this facility to anyone. 5 star establishment no question

We rented a space for nearly 5 years here. The management is great and they are easy to communicate when needed. Security is good, everyone has a code to enter with. Only down side is the price does increase yearly, although I imagine that would be the case anywhere.

Great price, friendly staff, and secure access! Original review above posted 4/20/22 Revised 4/28/22 This month my bill for my unit was pulled, I noticed an increase to my rate. I contacted the location office by phone and they were able to help me understand the rate increase & apologized for me not being notified of the increase. The staff then made contact with me when I visited my unit next. We were able to come to an understanding, they also offered other potential resolutions should the rate change not be viable for my storage situation. Very professional, empathetic, and kind.

I’ve never had to put things in storage before and I hope I don’t have to often but, if I do this is where I’ll go. The units are clean and Audrey, the lady that works there, is very accommodating, professional, and pleasant to work with. They have very good security and excellent prices. If you have to put stuff in storage, use ExtraSpace Update: I’m on Month 3 of my storage experience. Every time I go the lot, buildings, and grassy areas adjacent to 28th St. are neat, clean, and well-tended. So far, Audrey is the only staff I’ve interacted with (I think she might be holding the business up single-handedly!). I’m not sure how she does it, but she never seems crabby, rushed, or too busy to assist me with anything I’ve asked. She’s always wearing a neat ExtraSpace shirt, clean chinos, and a smile when I arrive regardless of the obnoxious heat & humidity. This lady deserves a medal…or at least a juicy bonus, for all her efforts. She even remembers my dogs’ name and mine. I really appreciate her. And, by the way, she did not twist my arm to write this…I’m truly impressed with her!

First time renting a storage space. The online payment option is trash, however the inside employees were helpful with that. The pricing is kind of ridiculous considering it's just a place to keep a bunch of unnecessary accumulated wasted money. However aside from that, would I ever do business with Extra Space Storage again?!? Meh.... If it was absolutely necessary!

The 28th st Extra Space location is clean, professional, and well managed. I had great service on the phone, signed up online, and my space was ready within an hour or two. When I arrived the manager Audrey was there to help and has since also been very helpful with payment and insurance issues. She does a great job and I highly recommend this location for storage needs.

Recently I over exceeded the grace period time and was given a reversal of my late payment to honor my good payment history. I appreciate Ms. Audrey and Mr. John for all there hard work. Extra space storage has been a lifesaver.The storage lease manager is one of the best.Due to my complex situation I've used a few units around the city and this is by far the best one.Theres 24-7 security and no pesky rodent problem to worry about.Its not overly priced and there's at least three different unit sizes to choose from.Andrey gives a motherly vibe which is amazing,some days I stop by just to say hi.I give Extra space storage a 5star rating but where is the 6star rating?

Have had only good experiences here. I use a storage unit to hold products for my job, which are commonly delivered via FedEx when I am not at the unit. Audrey has always been extremely accommodating making sure my items are delivered appropriately. The employees are always courteous, and make the process of accessing and leaving the unit extremely easy. There are also security cameras set up on the premises to provide additional security for stored items. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful service! Received discounts as told/ promised. Clean and properly maintained. After having a theft at Uhaul on 28th Street just a few months ago and finding that management was involved. Wow! Absolutely the BEST customer service. Audrey and Mona were a delight to talk to over the phone. I met Steve in person on move-in day, and he showed me the ins and outs of the complex. Had a reservation at another facility but decided to go with Extra Space instead even though the other place was a little cheaper. Reason being the other facility only had a kiosk and Extra Space had a live person to do the paperwork with. My husband and I had many questions and the manager answered everyone of them and then some!!! She was very informative. Liked the security also. It's not easy leaving your personal belongings in the care of someone else but we are glad we chose Extra Space Storage.

I received a promotion fro work that required a move, and VERY short notice I called Extra Space Storage hoping I could find a unit to store the entirety of my home's possessions. I had never used a storage unit before and was unaware of how much space I would need or what would work best. The staff took a verbal inventory of my items and recommended the perfect unit. They were flexible with me on when I could come in and sign the paperwork and answered all my questions when it came to procedure. My move was out of state and the staff completely eased my nerves and made me feel so comfortable that all my possessions were here.
