The college moving crew was the most professional place I spoke with when getting quotes for moving. They sent me a very professional text the morning of our move and arrived a few minutes early. They were incredibly careful with our items and made sure nothing hit the walls/doors/etc. as they moved. We had a lot of stuff, and the movers still had a smile on their faces when they left here after 12 hours. They were courteous and kind and never complained. Every time I saw them (even when not directly in front of me), they were just having fun with their work. I would definitely hire them, again!

Absolutely the best movers I have ever used! They had a very competitive quote and they were awesome! The movers are very nice and professional. They showed up on time with 8 guys to pack our house and we're done very fast. They even helped us stage things we were moving ourselves. When they came to move the next day after packing, they scheduled 3 trucks. They only needed 2 trucks and we only got charged for what they used. If you are moving and you can use them, you should use them!

I've moved in the military dozens of times and this is one of best experiences I've had with a moving team. Everything was very professional from the initial call to set things up until they were finished. Team was on time and worked in a speedy and proficient manner. Price was on the lower end of other similar moving companies and definitely felt like I got a great price. I would definitely use The College Moving Crew again and highly recommend.

Josh and Noah were so amazing!! I had a third floor no elevator apartment move out and they handled it so well. I definitely would not have been able to do it without their great work. The two-person crew who loaded up my U-Pack shipping container did an amazing job. They saved me money on the U-Pack bill, which charges by the square foot, since they loaded our items much more efficiently than we could have ourselves. There was no wasted space. Everything arrived at our new home in great condition. The company was great to work with from start to finish.

I contacted The College Moving Crew in urgency to find last minute help in a move for my daughter’s family. Busy schedules had kept them from packing up their things, needless to say we were all overwhelmed by the task before us. Time was running lit so I called through a list of movers on the internet. After many rejections and generous prices, Andrew was reassuring on the phone. He provided 2 gentlemen that showed up and saved the day! The guys were pleasant and kind. They worked steady and carefully until the task was done. The price was acceptable and fair. This service was just what we needed! We have just completed a move from Iowa to Washington State. Though we couldn't use the College Moving Crew to transport our stuff all the way to another state, we did hire them to pack our POD. Andrew did a walk-through of our townhouse and gave us a spot-on recommendation for the size of POD we would need. He was always cheerfully helpful every time I called with additional questions. On packing day, Noah and Josh finished their morning job early and asked if they could get an early start on ours. Points for initiative! Once they arrived, they moved right into action and didn't stop until the job was done. Points for work ethic. Through the entire process, they politely answered questions and worked around all the other activity in the place. Points for customer relations. We are very satisfied with College Moving Crew and would recommend them for any kind of moving job you have!

I contacted this small, but very fine moving company 3 days ago to move a spinet type piano approximately 30 miles to my current residence. Said piano was delivered early this afternoon...on Saturday...carefully swaddled like an infant..without incident..and by clean cut, polite, professional young men. College Moving Crew's estimate was $438 less than Two Men & Truck, & while here, they also agreeably relocated my couch to the basement. I had two movers. BY FAR the best moving company I’ve had. They were so kind and professional. They said yes to everything I asked. I’ve had movers who seemed like they just got out of jail, or some who act upset when you ask them to anything. These two young men seemed liked they just finished church choir before they came. I could go on and on but I think you get my point. If you are moving around the Des Moines area do not hire anyone else or you will regret it. I very rarely write reviews but thought these guys deserved it.

I’m very impressed with this moving company. This was my first time hiring movers and everyone from the sales rep to the actual movers were very friendly, responsive and professional. I hired 2 movers to load up my packed up 2 bedroom apartment into a U-Haul and they were finished in 2.5 hours. They even offered to wrap up some items in plastic wrap, which I wasn’t expecting. The only downside is you have to pay for drive time, which can add up if you’re outside of Ankeny (I was in Ames). I would absolutely recommend hiring them.

The College Moving Crew was the best decision for moving into our new home! Our crew was easy to work with, super efficient, and really knew how to take advantage of all the space in our PODS. I loved how they had rubber runners to place throughout our house to avoid tracking in snow and dirt. All of furniture was wrapped in moving blankets and/or plastic wrap to keep it from getting damaged during the move and we were even able to rent the moving blankets them for the 3-weeks our belongings were stored in PODs while we waited for our house to be finished. The College Moving Crew was much more cost effective than all the other options around the area. I would 100% recommend this crew to help my friends and family during their future moves. Andrew and Michael are the best!

Andrew, Nic, and Isaac were our movers and they were absolutely fantastic. Andrew got back to my request for a quote very quickly. Out of three popular moving companies that we requested quotes from, CMC gave us the most professional response. They were so courteous, making sure to ask where things should go and how I'd like them arranged, and very careful with our items all while being quick and efficient! Our new home has beautiful hardwood floors and they were VERY careful when placing furniture to not scratch the floor. I was also a big fan of them rolling out pad runners to protect the carpet/floor. I was impressed by how Andrew was able to maneuver their truck in tight spaces! They padded and wrapped all furniture and didn't judge the disaster zone of where we were moving from 😅 They even offered useful interior design advice 😉 would definitely recommend!

These guys were like a breath of fresh air. They communicated with me prior to the move, assured me they would be on-time, and actually arrived a few minutes early. Michael and Josh were very friendly and professional. They explained what they intended to do first and asked if that was acceptable. We worked out the priorities because there was limited space in the U boxes. These guys know what they are doing. Everything was wrapped in blankets, stretch wrap, and protected from harm. They even managed to get all of our furniture loaded in two hours. We couldn't have been more pleased.

They have shrinkwrap for large objects like a dresser, floor mats to keep your floors clean and plenty of fabric wraps to keep furniture from being damaged. They were fast and efficient but careful with our stuff. Absolutely recommend these guys and will use them for any future moves. Thank you!!

They did a pretty good job. They were both super friendly and helpful for sure! My only issue is they threw away all of our fridge/ freezer food and all of our pantry food. We didn’t realize until after they had left and seen it all in the dumpster. I had told both of them multiple time that those two bags were NOT trash. I even put those bags away in a different room than all the garbage bags, but oh well I guess. Sucks moving into a new place only to realize all of your food is gone. They were super nice though, just really bummed about all of our food. Would probably use them again, but just move things like that on my own next time so I don’t risk it being thrown away again.

We called them on a Friday at 4:30 for a a move the next week. They were able to fit us into their schedule, thankfully! Hire this crew! Communication was fabulous and the movers were so professional. They arrived on time (early, actually, which was great), loaded quickly, wrapped EVERYTHING, and took great care of all of our things. They had tricks up their sleeves when our items didn’t quite fit through some tight spaces, and were very careful in our brand new home. They even laid rugs throughout the house as to walk on the carpet as little as possible. Our estimate was right on and before leaving, asked if everything was placed approximately or if we would like them to move anything around. I couldn’t find an item after they left and sent a text to ask about it - they responded quickly and the fact that they were willing to help even after the job was over speaks volumes. I can’t say enough good things about this crew. Hopefully we aren’t moving again for a long long long time, but I will sing their praises to everyone who is.

We have never used movers in the past but this move it was only my husband and I. Andrew and Nic were great! They were on time. They first asked us what we needed gone and did a quick tour with me to make sure they knew what we expected them to move. They covered the doors as not to scratch them. They weren’t slow. Ive heard of companies moving slower as to get more hours in that you’d have to pay. This is not the case with them. Very quick and took good care of our items. We all left together to our new home to unload and that was even quicker. They ran the stairs not us and it was so nice to be able to work on other things while they did the hard work. Wow!!!! I was so impressed with Michael and Logan. They called on their way and arrived 15 minutes early. They were very hardworking and kind, too. Don’t let the name, “College Movers” fool you. These guys are professionals and exceeded all my expectations. They were prepared with all supplies and had knowledge about how to pack the truck most efficiently. While squeezing through small spaces with big furniture, they remained calm and had respectful communication with one another. An added bonus was that the boss man, Andrew, showed up to lend a helping hand and was cheerful and gave his expert advice when asked with a smile. These guys are top-notch! My only complaint is they didn’t listen to me when I told them to eat some donuts for breakfast and they passed up ham sandwiches for lunch! I never saw them take a break and they were dedicated and happy until the very end. What an amazing moving experience. I will recommend college movers to everyone I know! Thanks sooo much to these great guys!!!! Five stars is not enough to express my happiness with the experience.

I have moved something like 15 times in my life and I have never hired a moving company before. I decided to splurg this time and looked around but it started off a little rocky. Most places were booked so I had ended up booking with the only ones that weren't in Ames. Their communication was horrible and the only way they would respond to my emails was if I called and left a voicemail (they never answered their phones). I thought for sure they wouldn't show up on the day of my move and I was getting nervous. About a week later, Andrew emailed me to follow up on a quote he had sent. Apparently I had accidentally deleted the original email because I never saw it. It was the most thorough quote/response I had gotten from anyone. It was so simple, straightforward, and the cheapest rates I had seen so it seemed too good to be true and I would end up with some random fee after the move was done. However, I didn't, and the amazing communication continued through moving day along with a morning text on the day of. I even threw a curveball and asked for them to move extra stuff and they were fine with it. Even though it was one of the hottest days of the year, they moved quickly and were nice the entire time (I feel like I would have been cranky...). I would 100% recommend them to anyone needing to move!
