I rented here for a several months and everything was outstanding. The facility is very high quality and a pleasure to visit. I never had any issues whatsoever with entry, availability of moving carts, or anything. However, the real reason this is a 5 star establishment is the customer service. Peter and Terry were always so helpful. They knew me by name! I didn't even bother to setup online payments because I enjoyed the pleasure if saying hello to them each month. If you need storage downtown, go to CubeSmart!

We rented a storage locker for the summer so my daughter didn’t have to bring most of her things home for break. She is moving from the dorms into an apartment. WOW was that the best idea EVER. Moving her stuff to the storage facility was so easy and convenient. Cost is really reasonable and the lockers are really nice. Climate controlled and spacious. Carts available everywhere to assist in transferring her things from our vehicle to the locker. Ended up storing things for two of her roommates also. Do yourselves a favor and rent a locker instead of transporting everything back home each summer! Your back and wife will thank you!!!!

Extremely professional and courteous staff (Thanks Asst. Manager Kylee B.!), focused on convenience and the customer's needs in a streamlined fashion. The facilities are clean and welcoming even, a change of pace from the typical "boiler room layout" I've seen at other storage brands. Those perks come with a price point that, in my research, can't be beat by the competition. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for affordable, no-hassle storage options in the area.

Alex and Patty were amazing! I have been moved in for about 2 weeks now and they have been more than accommodating. I have two units in this location. This location is VERY clean, temperature controlled and they had space for all my things. I would recommend this location to anyone. It is the nicest storage facility I have ever used. I highly recommend Extra Space Storage on Hampton St in Columbia, SC. I have used them for 3 years to store my daughter's items for college. They make it so easy! Peter and Patty were just so great and accommodating! Everything was explained so thoroughly and they made moving in easy. Their paper for rental of the moving truck got lost, but Peter emailed me to make sure I still needed it and that it was open on the day of my move in. It was extremely hot and they continuously offered us water. Their kindness never faltered. I highly highly recommend this storage facility!! The best one I have ever used.

We just opened an account with Peter, the Manager, today to get a jump on storage for our son at USC. We are from Maine and after spending some time with him we are confident our sons items will be safely stored over the summer. The facility is sparkling clean, cool, and service was great. It was so impressive I not only asked if they were publicly traded for a stock play, but if they had plans for expansion in the Portland Maine area, as we could use one for our company’s business storage. Great job Peter, it’s always great to meet someone who takes such pride in what they do, and strives to do a great job. It’s hard to find people with that sort of dedication these days.

The store manager and guys here are just the sweetest! The facilities are new and clean and you can reserve their truck anytime you need, which is a HUGE plus if you have sedans like my husband and I. The location is great. We can easily swing by coming on and off the highway. The price of this place was competitive with others in the area as well.

I’ve been looking forward to CubeSmart opening in town after researching for a new storage facility when mine decided to increase it’s already hefty price! And boy, was I glad to experience the customer service and the tour of the facility first hand. It is outstanding how much they offer to assist you with your move and at such affordable rates! I met with Alex, and she was absolutely a delight to work with. She even took the time out to show me a couple of different sized units when I thought the smaller one just wouldn’t cut it for the amount of furniture I needed to store. The best part is that they have dollies and push carts in addition to a moving truck to help you settle your things in! And the way they operate with acces codes is the most convenient and yet still extremely secure-brilliant!

This is by far the best storage facility that I have ever used. It is very clean, up to date, and prices are reasonable. I'm very impressed with the state of the facility and my unit. I was even able to utilize their box truck for free! That's a plus. Alex and Patty were excpetional, they even stayed late after hours to get me all settled. No question was left unanswered and I felt confident that I was in good hands. I defintely feel that i made a great choice. She could not have made the process any easier from 650 miles away as I was setting up the unit rental for some college students. Additionally, her very trained eye recognized the unit was improperly locked during rounds and contacted us immediately with an efficient means to correct. The service here is great—treat you well and lay out their prices upfront. I had a large storage unit and was able to unpack my moving truck straight into it in only a few hours. If you have a spot on a higher floor you would have to take the elevator. It’s an industrial sized elevator, though, and would fit most all household items.

After a long stressful and annoying day of moving, both of the employees Alex and Patty really made my day! Extremely professional Alex explained the whole process of renting a unit, starting from the day I reserved it. When we arrived Alex and Patty both were extremely friendly and helpful during the whole process. Offering us tools to make the unloading easier, came to check on us, even offered coffee and water! This was my first experience with a storage facility and CubeSmart made everything so easy. Easy sign up, extremely clean and accessible storage units, and great customer service! I only stored my belongings for a few weeks, so aside from the set up and insurance fees, I didn’t have to pay anything! So far, just upon making online reservation, followed by conversations over the phone to be sure my selection had been on-spot (which it wasn’t, haha), this has been a terrific and thourogh process. I also must point out that Patty called me before I was calling her! That says so much to me about customer service! Patty assisted me in making my correction to the type and size of storage, also taking into consideration the height of different lockers and how easy or not for us to access each by way of us telling her our heights. We are a family of height-challenged folk. 😛 Patty actually went as far as to take photos for us of the locker I was choosing, and that made a great difference to me. So much easier than just looking at a diagram with measurements! (At least easier for me, that is.) I feel very confident about our arrival to pick up our daughter at university and tuck away so many of the things that do not have to come home for the summer. Yea! With electronic security for entrance to camera-monitoring, fresh carpet, new and clean, and pest controlled. I think we will be very satisfied. Will drop by and leave an update once we have had our first trip to storage upon semester’s close!

On June 26 2018 is a day that will forever play in my head because it was a move date for me that had gone wrong 100%. But on this day I had the pleasure of experiencing what great customer service really is at this location. The office manager and staff are always courteous and helpful. Super friendly team! Easy to move in! They even offer a free moving truck. They have been nothing but helpful!! It is a little pricier, however you get what you pay for. It's worth the extra. I will never store my items anywhere else!

Great place for college students, families, or really anyone to store their belongings. All storage units are indoors and everything consists of a control temperature environment. You will pay a little more for a storage unit compared to other locations, but like previously stated it is all indoors and is temperature controlled 24/7. One thing that I would like to point out, that wasn't necessarily voiced to me is you are required to have insurance upon purchasing a unit. I currently pay an extra $12 a month for insurance, which is no big deal, but it was a shock to me. You have access to your unit up until 10pm every night and as early as 6am every morning. Very friendly staff and would recommend storing any personal belongings here.

Patty M., a manager at Cubesmart's Hampton Street location in Columbia S.C., is a true superstar. Surrounding my family's recent move to a much smaller home, Patty has repeatedly gone well beyond normal customer service to help us handle our constantly changing storage needs. This location is new since 1 September 2017. Great prices for climate controlled units. You can rent a unit and use their box truck for free to move in! How great is that! This does not take anything away from the 5 star rating.... They need to get their "how to get to us" directions sharpened and clearly stated on their website and anyplace else they can be found. Due to one-way street restrictions in the area you need to enter Williams Street from Taylor Street off Huger St. There you find the access to office and storage. If you turn off Huger to Hampton you can't get to Williams due to one-way restrictions. If you don't turn on Taylor thinking you can come back to it from the State Museum end of Williams, you discover Williams Street one-way ends at Hampton and you are facing a DO NOT ENTER sign. Once you experience this once, you never forget.

The rent was lower online than what was said in person. The building is being bought out by a different company so that may be a reason why there was a difference. The units are very nice and big, it’s very easy to access and very clean. Friendly people too.

Paying for climate control, and the new policy is 80 degrees. Ridiculous. Columbia SC in the summer is brutal and humid, 80 degrees will allow humidity to be very high, which is not what I am paying for. June 24 Update Last week I a district manager reached out via voicemail, I've returned a call but got his voicemail. Temperatures and humidity in Columbia SC during the summer months are extreme, their minimum temperature policy will allow for humidity levels that can allow damage to valuable items in storage like guitars, furniture, etc. Prolonged exposure to moisture is typically not good for anything not made from synthetic materials. Hopefully this person will call me back and they will lower the temperatures to what they were before. Got a call from the district manager minutes after my update who sounded sincere in wanting to try and rectify the issue. Hopefully my next update will be positive. Humidity and temp are back at an acceptable level.
