Wow! I simply can’t say enough wonderful things about New City Moving and the crew that helped us move! We had the incredible ‘Chapo Crew’ during our move in the western burbs! They made me actually enjoy the moving process! The whole crew was so kind and efficient! They treated all my belongs with the care they would treat their own homes. What a work ethic these guys have! They were working nonstop from 9a-6p to get this big move done. An absolute pleasure to work with this crew. I give my highest recommendation to New City Moving! New City Moving did a wonderful job with our move from start to finish. Anna, our moving coordinator, was very helpful explaining all the costs and how the process would work. I also got a confirmation call in the days leading up to the move to confirm all the information and explain the logistics. For the actual move, J.R. and Sterling were excellent. They arrived on time, were extremely professional and polite, and moved everything quickly and safely. Nothing was broken during the interstate move, which was completed in a matter of hours. This was my first time using professional movers, and I would definitely recommend New City Moving to anyone.

New City Moving is awesome! I recently had their help moving from a high-rise in downtown Chicago to St. Louis. From getting the estimate, to scheduling the pick up and drop off, this team was amazing. Not to mention Julio and his crew; they were professional, careful, hard-working and great at communication both during my move-out day and during my move-in day. My things were delivered in great condition, and my estimate was close to exact. I hope they're around when I have to move next! For now, I'll just recommend that everyone else who is planning for an upcoming move hire New City Moving. Some of the best!

I have used a handful of Chicago moving companies over the years but New City Moving has been the most professional and impressive company thus far. The communication leading up to the move was fantastic, we had a mishap with our apartment office and had the elevator reserved for the wrong time. Our move coordinator, Stephanie, took care of updating our move time with no problem at all. The crew who moved our items were professional and efficient. I felt absolutely comfortable letting them handle all of our important things. I would definitely recommend New City Moving and I will be happy to hire them again in the future!

By far the best movers we have used. They were on time, quick and efficient. They shrink wrapped or wrapped blankets on everything that could be damaged and were careful to put everything in the right room. We have always had a 3 person crew on previous moves, but they insisted on 4. They were right, it was more efficient and turned out cheaper! I highly recommend them.

This was my third move with New City. That’s not by accident. This is the best moving company in Chicago in my experience. Every crew has been professional, communicative and on time. They are careful and respectful. You may pay a bit more than some of the smaller or shadier companies but they’re pretty good at estimating and they’ve typically come in under estimate if you do some prep and staging. My most recent move was 40% less time than their estimate and saved me $600. Plan to tip your movers, it’s expected and standard. I will say the phone/online communication was a little slow this time around. They didn’t get back to me promptly and it was really hard to get them to pickup the phone. I think it took them 24 hrs to respond to my voicemail. But in full disclosure this move was on a busy July weekend so it’s likely their busiest time of the year.

We had JR and Derrick move us from Chicago to Cedar Lake, IN on 9/12. We had them stop on the way at The Chicago Furniture Bank to make a donation of our furniture and I just wanted to commend them on an excellent job done from start to finish!! They arrived early, got right to work, explained the entire process to us and answered all of our questions! They took especially good care of our items and personalized the service to perfectly suit our needs and requests!! We used New City moving yesterday to move from both my apartment and my boyfriend’s apartment to our new apartment and it was fantastic. We had Irwin and Memo (I sincerely apologize if I got their names wrong, the day went by so quick) and they were both phenomenal. They were so kind and personable and very efficient. They took great care of my furniture and they communicated clearly the breakdown of the cost at the end of the job. New City was also great prior to the move. I talked with Bryan who was so helpful and responded very quickly to all my questions. The quote that he gave me was spot on with what I was charged for and there were no surprise fees. 10/10 experience would definitely use again!

We had an incredible experience with New City Moving and, specifically, Ricky, Jimmy, Quincy and Charles. These guys are incredibly hard-working and friendly. They packaged and moved out all of our stuff from our condo promptly and drove 7 hours to move our items in without a problem. All of our stuff made it to our destination safely and I believe the job was done as efficiently as possible. I would recommend New City to anyone who needs movers. We not only received all of stuff safely, but we feel that we made 4 new friends in the process. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would.

New City Moving were great to work with. It starts with a quote, they do a video assessment of you place with a live person going through all your things. I did a partial pack, I packed everything but glassware. The crew called to see if they could arrive early. Manny and his crew were quick and helpful. They took apart and put together my furniture. They asked if I liked the set up and offered to move things around. For my next move I will be using them.

We used New City Moving to move our daughter from one apartment to another…all the while living in Atlanta. From first contact until final move in they were exceptional! Scheduled move out worked perfectly. We were contacted regarding arrival time promptly. We were not there but my daughter said they were efficient and professional. They broke down her bed and desk. We stored her items at their facility for 3 months. Today was “move in” day and it could not have gone any better! I came to Chicago to help her move in. I was contacted when they were leaving their facility with an estimated time of arrival…SPOT ON! Two movers did another exceptional and professional job with the ”move in”. They had to temporarily remove a door to do so….not a problem….replaced it perfectly. Reassembled bed and desk! I would HIGHLY recommend them for any move!

An amazing experience with my team of 3 professional movers. I was pretty stressed out about a complex 2-stop move and the team did an absolutely remarkable job being on time, keeping me informed, incredibly efficient moving my stuff in/out of the truck, and they really protected my things quite well. It truly has been too long time since I've experienced this great of service anywhere (not just movers). I can't recommend New City Moving enough. This is my second move with them and I'll continue to use them as long as Chicago is my home! One tip in working with the office staff is to text/email them instead of calling them. They can call you, but it's hard to reach them by phone. Once I figured this out it was so much easier to set up my move logistics.

Wow - New City Moving has to be the best moving company in the city of Chicago! To preface, I have never used a moving company before and was really nervous about having them arrive in my 3 hour elevator window. Most companies in the area can only give you a 2 hour arrival window. But New City Moving assured me they would arrive exactly at 12pm and gave me a really competitive price. They ended up arriving early and finished before the estimated time! The guys were extremely professional and moved so fast. It was an incredible experience from start to finish. They unloaded boxes first so that I could unpack while they moved the furniture in. You can purchase packing supplies from them and they'll deliver them directly to you. They have always been on time and got me out of my old apartment and into my new one in about 3 hours. New City handled our move out and it was incredible! We really struggled to find a company that would move us from Peoria to Chicago with a ten day gap between our move out and move in. Every other company we got quotes from quoted it as two moves. New City charged for a single move and agreed to hold all our stuff in the mean time. Their movers were extremely fast, extremely thorough, and I cannot praise their professionalism highly enough. I would recommend them for anyone moving to the city.

We booked New City seeing the reviews and yes, we could have booked another server for cheaper value. However I do believe you get what you paid for. They were attentive to all our items in making sure they got to the last destination safely. We added a stop to our or as we have a storage unit and they were very flexible and didn’t charge us for the additional stop! With 3 stops, a 1 bedroom apartment to load, separate boxes they needed to decipher from storage to items for our last destination, they were fantastic. We 100% would recommend them and use them again! The people were professional and friendly!

I moved from an elevator building to a 3 floor walk up but booked movers w/o truck service. (Used a uhaul) the two crews that helped me were amazing and extremely efficient with their time. Very careful moving me out and wrapping my things, and very careful unloading. Highly recommend this company for your move. Very happy with my choice!

Easily the best full service movers I’ve ever had! Pricing is fair (and adjustable depending on how much you actually move/pack) and the service is incredibly fast & efficient. Erick R. and his team were in and out in 3hrs and always checked in on where I wanted furniture/boxes and even helped me get rugs under furniture. This was our second time using them - first was inner city Chicago moving and this time it was a cross-country move from Chicago to Texas. Everyone was so helpful and professional, from the person who did my Facetime estimate, to Angelica who was patient and gave me multiple options for packing/moving/storage, to the crew who actually moved my stuff. I’ve moved over a dozen times in my life, and I can confidently say New City Moving made my recent interstate relocation the best moving experience - from the initial quote, responsive and friendly coordinator (Rohan - thank you!) to the actual move day where 5! movers arrived and expertly loaded the truck in under 3 hours. Big shout out to Rosando, Cheyenne, Romale, Kai, and Bavel - they ensured that all of our belongings were wrapped and stored safely on the truck. Although they are Chicago based - they do service most states too! If you want the best at an affordable price (others were more expensive and had questionable reviews) - look no further than New City Moving!

Impressive. Most impressive! My go-to movers from here on out. Last-minute move, first time using movers. To save money I was just going to move the furniture and rent a car for the rest. They ended up moving everything for under the estimate and handled my particle-board Ikeaware with care. Friendly, thoughtful, efficient. They arrived on time (even called about 10 minutes before arriving to let us know their status) and got busy right away. We appreciated the extent they went to in order to protect our furniture. Everything was wrapped in blankets and some in blankets and plastic. They took great care to move the furniture and not make contact with the door frames or walls. I NEVER write reviews but would be remiss if I didn't give credit to the incredible team at New City Movers. We hired them to pack us in Chicago and move us to West Palm Beach, Florida. Not only was the coordination prior to the move impeccable (shout out to Ronan!) and they were incredibly responsive and helpful, but the team that packed us was amazing and the two gentleman who drove and unloaded down in Florida were also phenomenal (Jose in particular!). We even had two stops (one in a storage unit and one at our new place) and everything was clearly marked and went to the appropriate location. I'm floored at how shockingly amazing of a move we just experienced. My Father-in-law moved from Indiana to Illinois and in many conversations with New City we were told we were sent an amazing team that gets all kinds of great reviews. They weren't kidding. In terms of packing up a good amount of what was to be moved and loading the truck, the 5 man crew did double or triple the work in less time than my local move and 4 man team did it earlier this year (and I thought the timing was fine for that move too). All 5 individuals were extremely professional and courteous while working extremely hard. When it came to unloading, they worked well with my Father-in-law and even after they were ready to leave he requested a few items to be rearranged in the apartment and we asked if 1 guy would be willing to help. All 5 said sure and helped immediately without hesitation. They had 2 drivers so they could manage it all in 1 day and even after 13-14 hours of work (including driving back and forth) they still were nice enough to make time for an extra request. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work

I had used two men and a truck in the past and was severely disappointed. New City gave me a flat rate quote based on the size of my move and the specific needs, rather than an hourly rate. I highly recommend New City Moving USA for the amazing service they provided. They moved me out of my 4-bedroom home from Denver to New York. I originally spoke to James who explained the moving process to me after I went online and submitted my information. He quoted me a price that was higher than my other quotes, but I knew he was honest because he showed me the differences between his quote and the others that I received before his. He showed me that the other companies didn’t place everything that I told them onto their quote, and they also didn’t ask me important questions about my furniture like James. Also, James went over all the extra fees that my move had, and no other company told me about the bulky fees and shuttle fee that I had to pay for but James went over all those fees and made me realize that the other companies did not. The price he gave me was $11,450 and as he told me, the price did not go up on pick-up day. It was quite the opposite. I had 100 cubic feet less on pick up day, so they deducted the cost $650 and deducted another $100 from the VIP full service pack that I ordered. The full pack was well worth the money. The movers were as professional as James said they would be. The move took 10 days to deliver. Delivery guys were amazing. All around, amazing experience! I highly recommend this company for anybody who is moving out of Denver!

I was extremely happy with my move performed by New City Movers just a week ago. The crew leader: Andres as well as the other two movers were great, these guys hustled! And they took great care with my things. Andres reached out prior to arrival to inform me they were running early (30 minutes) and asked if that was OK. Alright, this might be long. I've had some terrible experiences with movers in the past. Like, "scarred for life" level. I was losing sleep over this recent move because I was worried the movers were going to be terrible like my last move. However, within 15 minutes of Camillo's team arriving at the house, all of that anxiety washed away. They came in, asked where we wanted everything, disassembled everything, packaged everything up safely, loaded it, unloaded it, reassembled everything, no questions asked. Every member of the team was trained, hard working, and careful. No dings, no scratches, no broken items. Yes, it's more expensive than other moving companies. But listen, you don't know me, I'm a stranger on the internet, you have no reason to take my advice, but I'm telling you; I cheaped out on movers during my last move and it was such an awful experience. Do not do that. Literally my 9 year old nephew was more helpful during my previous move, no exaggeration. New City Moving was more expensive but it was 100% worth every penny to not have anxiety about the process. The time estimate was accurate, and they actually came in under the estimated quote. I literally couldn't imagine a better moving company. Highly highly recommended.

Additionally I spent many years moving for grad school clinical rotations. We have 3 under 3 and a dog and both work full time. To say we are moving experts would be an understatement. This review holds weight in the fact that we have tried every method of moving, moving company, valuation system, etc. These guys are hands down, unanimous verdict, the most reliable, kind, trustworthy, hard working, and exceptionally talented crew you will find. From initial phone call with Jennifer to survey how much we had, to the communication with Ronan, and finally the moving day with Jorge and his incredible crew, all I can say is if you do not use this moving company, you only have yourself to blame if something goes wrong with another company!!! They are worth the cost. Not a single item of our very high end, 4 story home worth of items was damaged. They had our stuff to us within 2 days and we were moving 13 hours away. In the midst of one of the most stressful moves for us, NCM was a constant source of reliability. THANK YOU!!!

New City Moving deserves well above 5 stars. This moving company is the absolute best. I scheduled a move from Chicago to Springfield at the beginning of February with another moving company. On the day of my move, the moving company called me 30 minutes before they were scheduled to show to inform me they could no longer do my move and had to cancel (NEVER schedule a move with All My Sons Moving!!). Thankfully, New City Moving respects and appreciates their customers. Scrambling to find a resolution to my problem, I contacted Alison from New City Moving who, within 10 minutes of contacting her, managed to provide an estimate, assemble a crew, and have them on their way to my location to complete my move on short notice. Brian and his crew were equally as awesome. Friendly, personable, and excellent at what they do. My items arrived on time in Springfield, wrapped to perfection and damage free. What amazed me most was that, even on short notice, they didn’t try to squeeze me for as much money as they could. Everyone was professional and courteous, knew what to do, followed my instructions. Not one item damaged. Every box was placed in the right spot in my new home. They moved a huge, heavy armoire up and down right staircases like it was nothing - I seriously don't know how they did it!! I had never used movers before and was very nervous, but they made it so easy! I got a number of quotes for my move and they had extremely reasonable rates. The final price was close to the estimate, with some minor additional costs for needed supplies (extra boxes, wrapping, etc). Highly recommend!

This was our third time using New City for our moving needs. The first two times, they did an amazing job packing, wrapping, and moving all our cargo. Nothing was broken, scratched, or damaged in any way. When we decided to move out of state, we did not hesitate to reach out them again. In fact, our experience was so positive that we did not even bother to get another quote for the move. The team was, once again, extremely careful, thoughtful and patient with our full-pack moving option. I hired New City Moving to handle a slightly complicated situation. I needed furniture picked up from three separate residential locations and delivered to my home. The team who helped me set up the reservation were helpful, clear, polite, and communicative. The movers themselves were extremely professional, and I got positive feedback from all of the people they encountered throughout the day. In my home, they were tidy, unobtrusive, worked fast, and were very gentle with the items they delivered. I certainly trust these guys and would hire them again. They weren't the cheapest service available, but I think it was fair for the work they did and for the quality of the service.

Not only was I very attached to the place, I’d collected some furniture and artwork during that time that was quite large scale and heavy. The crew dealt with the weight with amazing strength and facile grace. All of them were very gracious and polite. The headman was the only member of the moving crew that spoke English so we had to communicate with him only, which was limiting when we were trying to direct the other movers. Professional, quick, and affordable. It was my first time using a moving service and they did not disappoint. All items were moved with care and they even covered floors in the new place to avoid wear during the move. My special request to drop off some items at Goodwill was accommodated at a nominal cost. To my surprise, the final invoice came out to be lower than the quote which turned it into a great value. My only complaint was that they were a little hard to reach over the phone on a few days, but it understandable given all the probes that come with the pandemic. Overall, cannot recommend their service enough.

We used New City Moving to move into our new home, and Bryan and the crew could not have been better to work with. We received an accurate quote so there were no surprises with pricing, and everything was explained clearly. The moving crew even arrived early to account for setup (we had to reserve freight elevator use for our old building). They were so coordinated and efficient with loading and unloading all of our stuff that I felt all the stress from packing the night before and wondering how we were ever going to get all our stuff out melt away. We had a couple furniture items that were difficult to disassemble so they had to go as-is, but everything arrived in perfect condition with no issues. They were also very friendly and professional. I had to run a couple errands between the move, and by the time I got to the new place, it seemed like we had had our friends come over to help us move with how my husband was joking and conversing with them. We used New City Moving to pack and transport our 2 BR 1 BA apartment in Ukrainian Village up to a new place in Edgewater. They were great — not only are they fast and incredibly hardworking, they were thoughtful of how to pack and unpack our belongings. To the point of videotaping themselves disassembling furniture so that they could reassemble it correctly at the new place. Nothing was broken or missing. Also, just the nicest folks. The movers were great! Very professional. They moved all of our 1-bed apartment from Chicago to Oak Park in just three hours. Very fast and careful with our stuff. We have a narrow hallway and we were on the third floor and they didn’t hit a single corner. We didn’t have an Allen wrench to take apart one piece, but they had an entire tool set to help. They wrapped up all of our furniture to keep it safe and set it up right where we wanted it in the new place. Very professional and took away the stress of moving day.

The 2-man moving team called me before arrival and even arrived a few minutes early. They worked quickly and chatted pleasantly with us as we packed up our own car with items we wanted to move ourselves. All furniture was wrapped and padded as needed. On the other end, they carried our furniture up to the second floor, placed and unwrapped it with zero damage. All this for HALF of the estimated price, in the end. I had padded our budget for more than the estimate just to be safe, and was shocked. How often are you shocked in a GOOD way by the final sticker price?! Just finished the after-movement repairs. I should say New City Move did really good job for our movement. In-home check list was made quick and detailed. Before the moving date, I called several times to reschedule the moving time (due to severe weather) and about moving questions. The coordinators were very friendly and patient. They called couple of times separately to confirm everything two days before the moving day. Movers came right on time and work fast and very careful. Although there were still several scratches during the move on the stairway (we have long narrow stairway and a bunk bed need to go up), we called the number the movers left us for repair. It is smoothly to schedule a repair time and New City Move tech Robert came on time. He was careful to protect Customer home and patient to answer questions. He did very good job to repair the scratches and even helped to clean the floor. All in all, New City Moving impressed me for the whole moving and after-moving procedure. I definitely will recommend to my friends and if any chance, to hire them doing movement again!

This third time I opted for the extra $50 insurance and it was well worth it—they used plenty of packing material to ensure the safety of my belongings, took great care in moving items including particleboard, and I was impressed with how they negotiated tight apartment-worthy spaces. This move, I did have unanticipated issues with the size of the move and how that was negotiated internally. You can’t always prevent the unexpected (ahem, especially during the pandemic) but it’s more important how you handle it once it arises. Brian, the business owner, shone here. He was readily available by phone and text. He was eager to listen to details of how the move went and went out of his way to devise a fair and equitable solution. To get my apartment packed into the truck, take the truck to my new place, AND unload the truck only took a little over an hour and a half. This was my fourth local move with New City Moving, and I'm glad I stayed with them. Believe it or not, I'm saying that even though there were some problems with my move. Our first crew didn't show up on time, which was stressful. However, when I called New City about the problem, they were exceptionally prompt with resolving it, shifting crews from the late team in order to make my move a priority and get us finished by the estimated time, especially since we had a stop time for moving at our new place. We ended up with a great team -- Monkey, Metro, and Capone -- who carefully and thoroughly moved our items both big and small, loaded the truck, and then unloaded them at the new place with exceptional speed and efficiency. While we still were a little behind schedule due to a late start, the team finished the move under the original hours in our estimate. Given that my move sounds like it might have been stressful and not everything went perfectly, why five stars? Easy: New City did not abandon us. When a problem occurred with a crew that was outside New City's control, they moved with exceptional speed, made things right, and even gave us a discount on our moving costs. When they were grabbing boxes to load up, they made sure to confirm clearly exactly how I needed things, since I was leaving some stuff behind. They were pretty quick too. I was told by the team lead that he was looking to save me money, and after giving all the details, I did save hundreds (it was already low compared to alternatives), because they make sure to check. All of my belongings were in perfect condition on arrival; not one thing was damaged. My move was on the smaller side (1 bedroom apartment), but I'm still extremely satisfied.

I recently used New City Moving to move within Lakeview and I was really impressed with the professionalism of the moving crew. They day of the move also was the same day the city decided to close the road around my building for utility work. The crew was very patient dealing with the construction crew to get the moving truck into position for loading. Once they were set up they went to work and quickly moved items to the dumpster that we were not moving and loading up items we were moving. I appreciate that they kept checking in to make sure that they were moving the correct items. Once we got to the new place the crew patiently waited while an Amazon delivery person finished his delivery to clear the parking area for the truck. From there they quickly moved everything in to the new space and took great care not to damage anything in the common area or in the apartment itself. All our stuff arrived undamaged and was quickly set up for us. I looked at several moving companies before going with New City Moving and based on my experience I think their five-star rating is well deserved.

In my opinion, moving is one of the more stressful times in life, and the quality of your moving crew is either going to make or break the experience. The entire process with New City Moving was easy and straightforward from the intake call with Matthew to the last box being loaded into the new house. After my move was officially on the books, my nervous self still called twice to confirm, and Matthew never made me feel neurotic (lol). On moving day, the crew was on time, worked efficiently, and communicated with us by name the entire day. We had a couple really challenging pieces to move. Previous movers had put holes in walls each time these pieces were moved, but the New City Moving crew completed our move without one mark on a wall. They moved us into a newly remodeled home with fresh paint, and the house still looked brand new when they left. I definitely hope I'm not moving any time soon, but if/when I do....I'm calling them!

Second time using them and didn’t disappoint! On time, great attitude, quick and professional. They did not wrap a fragile expensive furniture piece as thoroughly as we hoped, but our fault for not asking to add more padding at pick up point. Be aware while watching the process and they will be helpful. At our destination they unwrapped piece while it was in lobby, we inspected, they rewrapped with tons of padding and took up elevator. They were so patient and understanding during this and since we were in our time frame, they didn’t charge for the extra care. Strong recommend.

I would give 6 stars if I could to Erick Roman and his team. They were fast, efficient, clean and extremely careful. All of our furniture and boxes arrived in our new home safe and undamaged. We had brand new hardwood floors installed, and they were even so kind as to make sure all of our furniture had the correct padding before placing anything on the floors. An added bonus was that the team was fun to work with and all had a great attitude (even on a Sunday morning)!

Our new condo is on a two story third and fourth floor mix and they easily (and again carefully) moved our things. I decided to walk in to their location on Damen in order to obtain moving boxes, and was able to sit down with a consultant right then and there to schedule my move that would take place just a few days later. The consultation was very simple, stress-free and professional, and I was given a detailed and surprisingly reasonably priced quote right then and there. On the day of the move, three men arrived promptly at the beginning of my scheduled moving time (which thrilled me because I was told there could be a two hour window) and I walked them through everything that needed to be moved from my apartment. Considering the fact that I lived in a 3rd floor walk-up, I was shocked at how quickly my movers carried all of my possessions into their truck. They boxed up my clothes in the closet which saved me a bit of time, and wrapped my mattress in saran wrap which was great because it will be remaining in storage for a while. The movers were completely loaded up with the contents of my apartment within 45 minutes. Getting to my new place was not a problem at all and the movers were very helpful with placing boxes in different rooms as I directed them. As quick as ever, they finished unloading in record time and were out the door before it even dawned upon me that the worst part of moving was finally over, and for once it wasn't all that stressful this time around. I would definitely recommend New City Moving to my friends and will use them again the next time I have to move. Thank you for taking the stress and back pain out of moving! :)

We hired New City Moving for our cross-city move this past month and they did a great job. They were able to pack up our entire kitchen, disassemble/re-assemble our furniture, and move us across town within less than 5 hours! Nothing was broken and overall we were very satisfied. However, they did use a lot of packing material (likely to make sure nothing broke) but it was a bit wasteful in my opinion so if you care about that, would recommend packing your own boxes and just having them do the moving.

The BEST MOVE I'VE EVER HAD! And I've moved a ton in my life. I had ptsd from my past experiences but New City Moving absolutely made it fantastic and worry free. These guys were awesome!! It takes alot for me to bother going online to review a company but I wanted to make sure I did so for New City Moving. We had a short distance move for my daughter from one apt to another in Chicago. They quoted the move for 4 hours which I felt was a bit long considering she did not have alot of furniture, but in the end, the move only took just over 2 hours which they adjusted, thus the final cost was much less than the quote. They were in touch with us a couple days before the move to verify everything. They arrived promptly for a 9AM move. They had her apt emptied in one hour and moved into the new apt in just over an hour. They took time to shrink wrap anything that could be damaged, wrapped and shrink wrapped her couch, and several other items and nothing was damaged during the move. The crew led by Christian Orosco was very professional and friendly. I could not have asked for a better experience with this move. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Guys showed up a half hour early and were done with the whole job a full hour earlier than estimated - nothing broken, no scratches or marks on the walls - couldn't be happier. On paper New City looked a little more expensive than other options but after calculating add-ons (clothing box rental, tape, shrink wrap, etc.) and over/underestimating times, they were very close in terms of cost. First moving experience where nothing was damaged or broken, the team was unbelievable efficient and polite. We moved out of a condo and off-site storage unit into a SFH. New City Moving is awesome! I received a phone call less than 30 minutes after I requested a quote. The agent was super helpful and sent the quote over as soon as we ended the call. I asked for 2 or 3 revisions to the quote. Each time, it was taken care of within an hour and I was emailed the new quote. The day of the move was even better. My crew showed up 30 minutes early and ready to go. Those guys were really hustling. They had everything loaded onto the truck and at my new place in about an hour. I was super impressed. My new apartment had some tricky stairs to get up, but the movers were so positive and did everything quickly even with the tricky stairs. We had Freddy and his amazing crew move us from the city. They were amazing. Freddy recognized right away that I completely underestimated how much stuff my family actually has, he quickly called an extra truck and took care of it so it wasn’t a problem. They worked so hard and nonstop the whole time, it was actually kind of amazing, like CrossFit times 10. The guys on this crew were polite and friendly and Covid aware, wearing masks and washing hands. They didn’t break anything. They managed to get furniture in my older house that I never thought would fit and everything was done as quickly as possible. They moved us out of our old house and into our new house over 2 days and I was so happy we got them for both days. I wanted to hug them when they left at the end of a busy day for everyone. Very positive experience! I was nervous as my favorite movers from years ago went out of business, so we tried New City based on our agent's recommendation. They were pros through and through. I loved that they send an estimator beforehand so I felt like it was a solid quote, and because it was in the middle of the three I got, I felt like it was in the right ballpark. What I loved was the freedom to do as much or as little packing as I wanted. As long as my job met their two-hour minimum (which it would), I could pack or not, depending on my schedule. As it turns out, I packed more than I thought I would, so my whole job took only 4 hours instead of 8.5 -- saving me over half the estimate! I imagine some companies would balk at that, but New City was fine with it. I can't say enough good things about the five-person moving crew. They were 20 minutes early and worked like a well-oiled machine. It was all business, and just seconds before they started moving and packing things. They didn't slow down at all for 4 hours. They communicated clearly, rearranged furniture at my request in the new place a couple of times, and took very good care of the hardwood floors and new carpets. And they were friendly to boot! I highly recommend New City, and I will definitely be using them again next time I move.

My move team started early (after calling me to make sure that was okay) finished way faster than I thought, and came in under our original quote. We had a great experience with New City Moving. I received my quote quickly and was able to fill out a detailed form listing every item that I had. Our movers showed up right on schedule and ready to go. They packed everything quickly and efficiently. We had a couple scuffs on some furniture, but nothing major (Chicago buildings tend to have narrow doorways, so I blame that). Everything was placed in our new place where we wanted it and the movers were really kind throughout the whole process. Another user recommended having gatorade for the movers and I think they were really appreciative! They had been moving all day and part of it, through pouring rain. Kudos to them for keeping such a positive attitude and working hard. We were way under time and therefore far under the estimated cost, which I was really happy about :) So glad I was recommended New City Moving!

That was important to me, as I had many questions. They showed up 15 minutes ahead of schedule on move day and got to work right away. My experience started with finding very positive reviews on Yelp for various moving companies. My husband and I were desperate to find a company that could move us within a few days, and that could do it close to the end of the month. The ladies who helped schedule the move were amazing and flexible. They were fine with me needing to change our date last minute, and did all that they could to accommodate us. The move itself was seamless and wonderful. The movers took excellent care of all of our furniture and all of our possessions/boxes. I have never seen a crew move boxes so fast out of a home. They were also great in being able to disassemble and reassemble the furniture into the new house. All of the workers were polite and efficient, and I never felt like they were just hanging around to extend time on the move. In the end, it took them two hours less than they quoted me to move into the house, which was awesome because it meant less money for me. I highly recommend anyone who is moving to use this company.

This was my first time using movers and New City Moving exceeded my expectations! The team was prompt on their arrival time, made two stops to help coordinate my move and spent extra time/care with everything being transported. There were four guys that worked efficiently and smoothly together and I was shocked that my two bedroom/two stop move took just over 4 hours. They even offered to move things around at my final stop to help make the unpacking easier. Will definitely use New City again!

The move was less expensive than quoted because the guys were so efficient. I've never had a moving company be so careful with my furniture--every single piece was wrapped in blankets or plastic. New City Moving is by the far the best moving company I've ever used (and I've moved a lot). Worth every penny...and their estimate was lower than other companies I contacted. I recommend them highly. Update a year later: another year, another move. I didn't even look around this time, because I knew New City Moving was the way to go. Once again, the guys were great, took less time than estimated, and were extremely careful with all my things. This move had some added challenges in terms of an old building, twisty stairs, and parking, but the team made it smooth and easy. I recommend New City Moving to everyone.

We'll be using New City for the rest of our moves and will recommend them to our friends (or rather the friends that don't already use them - everyone does). From the start, things were great - the video walk-through was helpful and Bailey was patient with me while I had phone issues. Megan helped write up the paperwork and while there was a slight misunderstanding with the move-date, she helped me get it sorted out easily, kindly, quickly, and everything went off without a hitch. The movers showed up on time. The guys were thorough, quick, and courteous. Eduardo managed his team well. Whenever we needed something he was nearby and was quick to help. We had damage to one small mirror frame and he was completely up-front about it - we didn't have to wait to discover it ourselves later. THE BEST! New City moving just moved me from the suburbs of Chicago to downtown (about an hour drive) and I had an amazing experience! Edit: I was so happy with New City that I decided to use them a second time. That was a huge mistake. What should have taken 3-4 hours based on my previous experience with them took 6, one of the guys complained the entire time about how hard his job was, scratched every door frame in my new place, broke a bunch of my grandparents dishes, then left all the tape around everything. Was enough to make me not want to use them again. Too hit or miss for something that important. Perhaps it depends on the crew you get. -- I couldn't have been happier with New City Moving and plan to use them in the future. From the beginning, they were the most professional and prompt moving company I've ever worked with. No random personal phones or emails, no questionable time frames or pricing. Everything was completely spelled out from the get go, there was an official contract to sign, and all my questions were answered satisfactorily and quickly. Also, moving from out of state, I had a very specific start time because I literally drove in a few minutes before I needed movers; this was not a problem at all, which I very much appreciated. When the gentlemen got here, they were on time, incredibly nice, and very hard working. I was worried that my move, being on the third floor of a walk up with not the easiest stairs, would take all day, but they moved me in completely in an hour less than the quote, saving me the extra money, and gave me tips on how to move around my heavier pieces of furniture easily so as not to damage the wood floors. I really was so impressed. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I would highly recommend this company. If it were possible to give them ten stars I would. I contacted New City Moving and was scheduled for the very next day. The person I spoke with during the reservation was Kelly, and she was very attentive and detailed. The three man crew [Nick was the crew foreman :-)] worked nonstop on a very, very hot day. They were courteous, efficient, and completed the job under the estimated time quoted. The price was on par with all of the other companies if not cheaper in the end. All of my furniture and household goods survived the move with nothing being left behind or broken. The movers assembled my bed and removed a flat screen TV and large glass table top from wood crating. I will note here that I was moved from a storage unit where all of my furniture, household goods, and clothing were previously packaged by a professional moving company so New City Moving didn't have to actually pack my goods. However, based on their professionalism and my experience with them during the move, there's no doubt in my mind that they would have packed my goods with care as well. If I ever need moving services in the future, I will definitely use New City Moving Again.
