Within only the last 3 months, we have had the pleasure of working with Local Muscle Movers under an unfortunate situation. My Mother was needing to relocate from her large home in VT to an Assisted Living Apartment. It was very convenient to set up an appointment with Local Muscle Movers. I was able to do this 95% on line. I was able to actually talk to my Mom about what she wanted to take with her and plan the move. They have an easy form to fill out for inventory of pick up and an easy payment plan. When I needed to speak to a live person, Brendan answered on the second "ring" and was exceptionally helpful. My Mother passed quickly within these 3 months. We had to move her furniture from 3 sites; her home to mine, her home to the apartment, her home to Burlington Resource, where we donated so many items. At one point we were needing to do a quick move 1 day before Thanksgiving, Brendan called his team and made this work! During these moves, we worked with 5 physical movers. 1 of which helped us twice. These guys were prompt, fast, efficient, friendly & kind. I met them at all sights from beginning to end of service. I have to say that these individual movers were outstanding in all ways necessary. Even though the circumstances were upsetting, we could not have hoped for more from any moving company. I have a feeling that we will be calling them again. Well Done Local Muscle Movers!

I called Local Muscle Movers from the road as I was driving from CT to my daughters apartment in VT to move her out. The movers I had originally arranged to load our moving van ghosted me and I needed a miracle. They were professional, helpful, and understanding throughout our call. It was a last minute job on a snowy Friday afternoon and the crew accepted the job. The communication, pricing and friendliness of the crew were all excellent. I cannot write a high enough recommendation for this company and the employees who I had interaction with. Thank you!!!

I found Local Muscle Movers excellent to work with. They were experienced, polite and professional. I had a very complex move of an art studio with multiple cabinets, supplies, and tables. I had to have two tables taken apart ( screws) and put back together. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

There are not a lot of movers to choose from in Vermont (I live full-time in CT where there are so many options) , so I was a little apprehensive about the move I needed….taking most of the contents of our seasonal lake camp to a storage unit, so we can tear down and rebuild. The cabin is on a hillside and there are at least 33 steps up and down. From the very beginning, Local Muscle Movers was responsive and helpful…and they stayed that way right until I closed the door to the storage unit. Sadly, I don’t know the names of the young guys who did the work, but they were polite, engaging and hard workers!!! They didn’t waste a minute of time. I was a little concerned as to whether everything would fit into the storage unit, but they miraculously got everything in as if they were constructing a puzzle…all neat and tidy. I can’t recommend these guys highly enough!

I moved yesterday and it was the best experience I have ever had with a business! Communication prior to the move was excellent. I even got a notice five minutes before the truck arrived, on time. The movers were courteous and responsive to my requests. They finished the move on record time, resulting in final bill that was less than my estimate. They also somehow fit everything in one storage unit, saving me $200 a month for every month I wait for my home to be built. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

These guys were incredible, truly everything you'd want on a moving day. Travis and Story were professional, efficient, friendly, and somehow managed to make a move stress-free. Update: I used Local Muscle for a second time. Travis and Story were amazingly helpful. They worked quickly and were incredibly courteous. While I hope I don't move again in the near future, I would absolutely use Local Muscle again and would recommend them to anyone looking to streamline their move. Local Muscle moved from my apartment to a storage unit - Patrick and Cameron were professional from start to finish. They arrived a couple minutes early and were loading the truck by the start time. We're Not Going Back to Normal

I have used this service for two apartment size moves. Both experiences were excellent. On time, fast, friendly and accommodating. Rates are fair and both moves came in under the time estimates. This is a two person crew and no supervisor. Staff support (phone and email) was excellent. For larger moves (a family home) the crew might be too small.

Sadly, we move a lot. A. LOT. Its one of the most stressful things but Local Muscle takes much of the stress out! We have used Local Muscles twice now - once to just unload a truck and then once to load/unload. We have a LOT of stuff which makes for a long day and lots of logistics. * Booking - they listened to what I wanted/needed, made recommendations and gave a competitive bid. (I got bids from 3 different places and they had by far the best solution and pricing.) They delivered on every promise. * Moving - Professional, quick, careful and did a fantastic job loading the truck - NOTHING was broken. They helped take beds/furniture apart and reassembled it in the new house. They allowed me to do a final walk through and they moved boxes from one room to another as I needed. They offered to help put rugs and furniture in place. Great experience. Less stressful move ever.

I have used this company at least three times to move my Mother’s apartment items. Even though I was Still getting things together upon their arrival, they were professional and helpful. One large antique item was partially damaged (It had a weak spot in the wood prior to the move) and they immediately offered to reduce the cost so I could get it repaired. That was without me asking or needing to get angry. I love these guys!! Highly recommended.

I have used their services several times, and for this past move they proved once again why I'll always call them first. Their clear communication and organization provided a great start, as did their infectious positive energy. Each member of the team moved quickly and efficiently while still being careful and thoughtful with my belongings. Even in the midst of a big job they remained patient, cheerful and communicative -and so fast! They packed the trucks expertly, handled the planned midway stop perfectly and then came storage. I still don’t understand how, but they beautifully and meticulously filled my storage unit in such a way as to protect my belongings and also eliminate the need for a second unit that I had rented just in case. I can’t imagine anyone else taking the time or making the serious attempt that they did to make everything fit. This company is great! The reservation process was very easy and very personable, from receiving the estimate to confirming the job. Oftentimes, I spoke to the same person that provided the estimate and provided communication about arrival times and other necessary correspondence. The movers arrived very near the scheduled time even though it was their 3rd job of the day. We were scheduled for 2 hours and they finished in about 1:45, which was also fantastic. They achieved this by working very efficiently and the guys worked very well together. Very personable folks at Local Muscle all around.

Truly thoughtful and thorough customer service is an increasingly rare commodity these days but I'm happy to say that Local Muscle Movers are committed to delivering exactly that. They loaded our entire life into their truck this morning and they did it with efficiency, courtesy, and care. Our crew consisted of Matt and Sam. I could tell these were solid people when I showed them around our apartment and detailed what needed to be moved. They asked the right questions and wasted 0 time before getting to work. I watched the boxes and furniture being neatly organized and well cared for as they entered the truck. They drove carefully behind me on our way to the new home and unloaded with the same efficiency as before. We ended up about 30 minutes under the quoted time and Sam therefor adjusted our total cost. That level of service makes a big difference during this stressful/expensive period of life transition. These folks took a lot of work off of our plate for a reasonable price and provided outstanding customer service throughout. Getting the move confirmed was a bit tricky as I was on the road by the time my check made it to their office, but everything went smoothly regardless. A young woman and young man showed up with a large truck and in a very timely and professional manner moved everything from one place to the other. They had all the necessary equipment and were very careful with our belongings. The first time we were impressed by the efficiency of the three man team and how much they accomplished in such a short amount of time with no damage or any issues. When we were planning our recent move there was no doubt about who we were going to call. A week prior to move day, we got a call saying they were going to be down a person so it may take longer than planned. When two people arrived and one was a female I admittedly was wondering how it was going to go. We were absolutely blown away by Steph. She and her two person team got everything moved quickly and in such a organized way it almost put the first move with three people to shame. She planned out where everything was going to go in the truck and got everything loaded in and unloaded at our new house in such a way it was almost unbelievable. Thanks so very much! We hired Local Muscle to pack our daughter's third floor apartment into a U-Haul truck. The interaction with the company leading up to our contract was clear, prompt and useful for our planning. The crew of two showed up exactly on time -- cheerful, polite and ready to work. "They're running up the stairs!" exclaimed my daughter. Instead of doing my usual micro-management hovering, I decided to hand over complete trust to our movers, and at the end of the job, the truck had been well and carefully packed, care taken with all of the belongings on the way down the tricky stairs, and the interactions with our Local Muscle team were fun. And the job took just the time that Local Muscle estimated, based on the information that I provided. I would hire Local Muscle again in an instant.

I had a really great experience with Local Muscle Movers! I needed a couch moved from Portland, ME to Burlington, and had no luck getting friends with trucks to volunteer. I had seen Local Muscle's truck around town (it's easy to spot), and decided to give them a try. I'm glad that I did! It turned out that they were moving some other things from Portland anyway, so I got a great deal. The two guys that I met, Jake and Kyle, were super friendly and showed up right when they said they would! I haven't had much experience with moving companies before, but I would definitely recommend Local Muscle!

This was my second time using Local Muscle and everything went well, again. Super fast, friendly and efficient. They took great care of our stuff and really went out of their way to fit some larger items through some small entranceways. They showed up exactly on time and the price was reasonable. If you are looking for movers that are strong, courteous and full of care, you can find them at Local Muscle.

Ray & Justin helped us move form our apartment so we could set up to remodel. They were great! Very friendly, mindful of the items they were moving, and open-minded to suggestions. Our place in particular had narrow openings - about 30" at the widest. This made moving out a hutch and refrigerator quite a challenge. Fortunately, I am handy and would address the situation quickly. In fact, this would be my only area of recommended improvement: for the money, come prepared to solve problems like refrigerator door handles. Don't leave it to me. Alas, they saved us a lot of back ache and supplied a nice little ride for our junk to a storage facility in Williston. I'd recommend them to others. They were honest, hard-working, smiled even though it was raining, and were friendly enough to talk with one-on-one.

With a team of 4 and two trucks, these guys had me moved from my 3 bedroom/2-story with basement home in the New North End up to Malletts Bay in 5 hours! We got into the city late, as we were coming from Montreal, and Local Muscle was very understanding and accommodating-moving around other jobs in order to make the timing work. (UPDATE 6MAY19): For everyone that will be reading this post in its entirety, I would like to say that my opinion of local muscle has changed. Not even 24 hrs after I posted my first review below, their manager, Brendan, called me and left a voicemail. I was not able to get back with him that day and he called me again the following day. Brendan was very persistent in wanting to know what happened and to make things right with me. When we finally talked, we had a lengthy conversation where he mostly listened and was very concerned about my experience. He explained to me in detail that what I have experienced was not up to their standard and is an anomaly in the day-to-day operations, executing many jobs. Of course I believed him because I see the awesome reviews that Local Muscle got from many customers. Brendan made things right with me when he listened to my concerns and provided some compensation for not receiving best service possible. Folks, as with any customer service based business, things will not always go right. However, the positive actions the company takes when you have a negative review or a complaint, speaks highly of that company. It really shows if a company is truly professional and reputable. I wholeheartedly believe Local Muscle took very positive steps in making things right by me and keeping me happy. For this reason, I raised my review to 4 stars and If I ever had to move again in Vermont, I will use them again; primarily for their superb consistency in providing excellent service. I just happened to not get the best crew on the ground that day. Brendan realized this and expressed to me that he is taking action to remedy the problem. Yury My experience with this moving company is average at best. Although the movers were very nice, they did not seem the most experienced. My move was only a few feet away and they took about 7 hours to move just a few things out of my house. On top of that, they almost refused to move my dresser for safety reasons. What moving company refuses to move a dresser? It's not like I asked them to move a piano the day of the move. The dresser was on my inventory list prior to them coming. The mover stated that his partner has a prior back injury. Although I sympathize with him, its not really my problem. I am paying A LOT of money for a simple move and I should not be hearing, "Sir, for safety purposes, we cannot move your dresser". I asked him if they can send out another crew to pick up the dresser and the mover said no. I eventually had to convince the mover that I will help move the dresser, in which I did. No discount was given to me for that. Not professional at all. Also, the movers could care less if they walked all over my clean carpet with their dirty shoes. My wife and I had to insist that they lay blankets down and walk on them instead. And even so, they did a poor job at that. I also had to insist that the mover saran wrap the dresser to prevent the drawers from coming out and protect the dresser itself. Standard procedures but seemed like a huge inconvenience for the movers. They also did not wrap my couches for protection when moving them, and neither did they put the mattress in the a mattress bag despite my request for it when filling out the cost estimate. The customer service prior to move date was great. Not so much after the move. No one from the company contacted me to see how my move went and if I was satisfied. You would think that if I paid almost $1000 for one day's work, someone would make sure to see how it went. Nope! One of the manager's called for a transaction mistake issue and never asked for my feedback. Very unprofessional! Bottom line, I am in the military and I know all about the moving experience. This was by far the worst one I had so far and they did not even have to drive anywhere. I would not use this company, nor will I recommend this company to anyone else.

Instead of giving up and leaving me stranded (which would have been understandable), they called around and tried to locate a truck. They ended up grabbing their cargo van and loading it up with as much as they could (all of the big things I wouldn't have been able to move by myself), stuffed my car as well, and off we went.
