Roy's Moving team did a great job getting me out and into my new place. From the customer service in booking the service and calling to confirm my move to the moving team themselves, I appreciated every interaction with the team. The foreman for my move was wonderful. He (Noah or Noel...) showed up with a wonderful spirit and made sure that all of my things were well taken care of. Nothing was damaged during the move and communication throughout the process was excellent. I would recommend and will consider Roy's Moving again in the future.

I met with the owner named Owen B and he was able to explain me the whole process. He showed up with his team to move mi boxes right on time. He was very professional and polite to my family. This is an excellent company to do business with. They are very professional and careful that all items are carefully moved. The day my daughter had to move it was raining very hard. Not to worry, everything was wrapped in plastic so nothing was wet from the elements. The men moving the furniture were friendly, professional and willing to help with even some items stored in the attic of the apartment building. They made this stressful day so easy for us. They are Masters of their trade! They were a cheerful, hardworking crew. A very good value and NO Surprises. After a four hour drive and artfully fitting everything in my storage unit, they were still telling jokes. Roy's Moving company really came through for me. I called with very short notice to see if movers could come help unload a 16 ft POD and a 20 foot trailer. Steve was able to schedule me for next day service, was able to answer all my questions, helped me understand timelines, as well as gave me some helpful advice/information about our new home state. The crew that arrived was on time, very fast, and super helpful. All of our household goods were unloaded quickly with no damage to any items. Steve even checked in with me after everything was unpacked to find out how things went. Highly recommend their service.

I needed a last minute move. I called Tuesday, they had movers over the very next day. Very very convenient. Prices were super reasonable. The movers were super nice and skilled in Tetris of my furniture and things inside the storage unit. They were able to squeeze a 3 bedroom home in a 10x20 for me. Very quick, they were in and out. After doing some digging online, I went with Roy's Moving. I had a one bedroom same day local move within Boston, on a third floor walk up. Price was fair and within range of my other quotes, but since they were closest to me and on the lower range, I went them. Overview: 1. Easy to get in touch with, Lydia was prompt and I had a quote and a deposit within 10 minutes 2. Local to Brighton, so less travel time 3. Movers (Noe and crew) showed up within the time range (2 hr time range) 4. Noe and his peeps were quick, efficient, and effective and they fought with my assembled bed and braved my third floor walk up Overall, feel pretty good about this move. This was my first time going with a moving company.

I cannot express enough how thankful I am for this service! I ended up having no personal help with the move so I called Roy's! It made my move go from this daunting task to feeling so assured that it was going to get done smoothly, and stress free. They proved that right off the bat! With the weather (a mix of sleet, snow, ice and rain) started to fall- it did not throw Wilton and his crew off for a beat. The truck got stuck (due to the conditions) and with a team effort we got it out - and got my belongings moving! They took care to work fast, but also handled all of my items with care. Anything they had a question on they didn't hesitate to ask! And for certain items that I did not pack safely- they took the time to make sure they were padded and taped. Once we got to the destination the unload happened swiftly! They took good care to place items in the rooms as I requested. Not only was my experience a smooth process, they also made it fun! Updated Review as of November 7th: Roy’s moving delivered my items to me in Georgia on Nov 6th. Items were in one piece. Delivery was smooth. I would now recommend them for your move. October 18th: Called to have a quote for my move. A guy named Joey assisted me. When he gave me the price for my move, I was trying to have few items removed just so the price can be reduced to fit my budget. He was so rude and he said they can’t do business with me, he hung up on me. I wasn’t negotiating anything I only wanted to remove some items but he was impatient with me and rude.

The movers were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The were so kind and took our tvs down for us and took my kids bunk beds apart and put them and the other beds together at the new apartment! They showed up at 2:30 and were completely done by 5:30! I have never seen movers work that fast and do things that they didn’t have to do but did it anyway because they were so kind, and be done 5 hours ahead of schedule!!! I mean they moved a house 🏡 into a 3br apartment in a flash!! Noe, Silverio, and Ober were so sweet and kind to my family. It was great working with Steven who helped coordinate our whole move through phone and email!! Also everyone else at the office was very nice and understanding! Moving is hard and I’d definitely use them again if and when I move!! Roy’s team came to move a very heavy wooden bar the size of an upright piano located on my second floor. A narrow stairway and several tight doorways had me concerned. The guys were so professional. I used Roy's moving company two years in a row and have highest recommendations!! Last year I moved from Providence to Boston during the height of the pandemic. The movers were nothing short of professional, courteous, and responsible. I have many fragile items (such as large photographs and vases) and everything was pristine. This year I moved locally in Boston while my fiance drove his own UHaul from out of state. Roy's was flexible enough to move my belongings across town as well as unload his UHaul. Both times, the company was responsive to my needs, answered questions quickly, and overall facilitated a stressful process into a smooth one! Everything before and during the move were fantastic. The movers were lovely, the in office staff that I worked with were responsive. There were some fees that were not disclosed and additions of a mover that added cost to the move that were not discussed with me by the office staff. It was an okay experience, my items made it to the new home without damage, just a couple of boxes that were upside down but nothing broke or spilled. The movers worked hard and did a great job!

I had the pleasure of Rudy, Fabian, and Hector moving us to our first home. We have A LOT of stuff. We underestimated the number of boxes (by about double), but the movers weren't upset with us when they arrived and saw the damage. They were friendly and helpful the entire time. Our new home has a VERY narrow staircase that the sleep number bed frame would not fit up. These guys took the time and effort to disassemble the entire thing, get it up the stairs, and reassemble. They also made miracles happen with our large dresser. We did not have to worry about disassembling or reassembling any large furniture. They did it for us and wrapped everything to securely move. I would HIGHLY recommend these three individuals specifically for your move. Even with the additional items, they were able to get everything done with only the slightest addition to time. Very impressed and will use again if I ever move!

Roy's Moving provided me with everything they promised. I submitted requests online for quotes from several different moving companies. Roy's responded promptly and followed up when I initially told them I was shopping around. Maya gave me several options for number of movers, time frame, hours needed etc. I gave her a very detailed list of what was being moved (I highly recommend taking the time to do this. They will get closer with their estimate and it can eliminate those hidden charges afterwards.) She recommended 3 movers for 2 hours and gave me 2 hour window for moving day, saying they would call 1hour before arrival. On moving day they only gave me 30 minutes notice and I was an hour away. Even tho the 3 movers waited for 30 minutes, they didn't start charging me until the work begun. They loaded the truck quickly, promptly made it across town, and unloaded everything upstairs in just over 2 hours. Carlos and his crew took good care of my belongings. They got this move done very precisely, right on quote, with no extras or hidden charges. I will use them again and highly recommend.

I paid $150 for 4 movers and a truck for a local in Boston move on Aug 3, 2020. They were great...showed up and immediately got to work. It took them just about an hour to load at the first place and maybe 1.5 hrs to unload at the new place up a flight of stairs. It went significantly faster than it would have with only 2 movers. Other companies offer cheaper hourly rates, but most are for 2 movers only, so it will take longer. Everything was moved very well. I only had a few flower pots break because my cheap plastic drawers fell apart. Eli was great over email and the phone at confirming and answering all my questions. If we move again, I'll definitely use Roy's again.

Eli was professional and curteous and connected with the insecurities I was experiencing while planning y big move from MA to OR. EDIT: After writing my initial review, Roy's contacted me about my experience. While it became clear there had been some initial miscommunications regarding minimum fees associated with the move, I did greatly appreciate the efforts they went through to ensure after the fact that I was satisfied with their customer service and their company as a whole, and I very much appreciated their efforts with this. I used Roy's to move right before the whole pandemic hit. While they got the job done, talking with other friends now who have used other companies, I'm certain that I absolutely did not get my money's worth. The movers were exceedingly careful about moving everything, but did so at what can only be called a glacial pace. Took 3 movers about 4 hrs to move my small 1-bedroom apartment's worth of stuff from one ground floor apartment to another ground floor apartment just a mile down the road. I was charged nearly double my initial estimate because of how much longer it took them. Would absolutely not use them for future moves. I could have loaded and unloaded faster doing this with friends, and have definitely had companies move me faster in other cities I've lived in before. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

I recently relocated from Boston to Boynton Beach, FL for professional reasons. I was not looking for the least expensive company but rather a company that I felt comfortable working with as well as a company that "heard" and understood my concerns. From the first conversation with Eli I knew that I had found exactly what I was seeking. I had many moving parts...not only was I moving some rather precious household belongings but I was also moving a vintage automobile. Eli coordinated everything with the grace of a figure skater. I wanted exact dates/times for pick-up as well as delivery in FL. I understood that these requests would add cost to my move and was fully willing to absorb that as long as my requests were fulfilled. Eli was precise with his quote, yes there were additional charges for packing and securing valuables but nothing unreasonable or unexpected. The pick-up of my vintage care was exact as well as the vehicle was cautiously loaded into a covered trailer, secured, and covered for transport. My contents from Boston were packed with great care in an extremely timely manner. In my case, my preference was that the truck my belongings were loaded onto would be the truck that delivered my items to my new home in FL. Eli checked in with me to make sure the pick-up was without incident. Now the GOOD PART (not that anything up to this point has been less than perfect). My items were scheduled to arrive in FL on Wednesday (7 days after pick-up in Boston - a very reasonable time frame). I received a call on Monday asking if I would be able to receive the items on TUESDAY - a day earlier than scheduled! I, of course, was thrilled that not only did Roy's meet my expectations, they EXCEEDED my expectations by delivering my items ahead of schedule. Unheard of when you read the horror stories of people not having their delivery for weeks on end by other companies. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT ANY DISCERNING CUSTOMER WORK WITH ELI & ROY'S MOVING! Thank you for making my transition so much more stress free.

I just moved apartments (local move) and this was the second time ever that I used mover. I found Roy's movers through online reviews and after talking with Eli he made me comfortable with the price and process. The day of the move Abner and his crew showed up exactly when they were scheduled to - they even called ahead to let me know they were on the way. They got to work promptly and had me moved out of my old apartment in no time. They even took my couch apart for me (and put it back together at the next place). The move into my new place was tricky due to circumstances outside of our control, but Abner and the crew made easy work of the job. They were professional, speedy, and accommodating. I was told that my move would take up to 4 hours and they booked a job for 11am an hour away which they were obviously hours late to. I'm just glad I was the first pick up of the day. I have a number of process improvement suggestions that I'm happy to provide offline. I really appreciated that they were very accommodating with my budget to ensure that I was not being overcharged for any items or supplies during the move. Roy's Moving Company moved me from Boston to Ithaca, NY four days ago and I couldn't be happier with their service. I have moved three times in the last four years and Roy's was by far the most professional and reasonably priced of the three Boston based moving companies. The previous two moves were within a 10 mile radius and the cost was higher than my move with Roy's (350 miles). Lydia and Hilbert worked with me to make my move cost effective with insurance included. The crew worked extremely hard and all were professional and friendly. I can't say enough about Hilbert (Dispatcher and Sales). He showed up the day of my move and hand packed all my artwork and valuable antiques himself. He worked as hard as the moving crew. The Forman and Driver, Fidel went above and beyond. He worked physically harder than anyone I've ever seen. He and Junior loaded the truck (7 hours), drove to Ithaca the next day (7 hours) unloaded the truck (8 hours) and then drove back to Boston. Unbelievably hard workers! Never a complaint from them once, they are quality people! I will recommend Roy's to all my Boston friends and family. Moving is never easy but this team makes it bearable, less back breaking and more cost effective. Thank you Hilbert, Lydia, Fidel, Junior and Edgar. You are the best!

They gave me a 3 hour window, of 9am-11am, of when they would arrive. They actually arrived 10 mins early! The crew was very friendly and courteous and funny. They wrapped all furniture before putting it in the truck. They even took small things like canvas bags filled with odds and ends, bags of bedding etc. When we got to new condo they put down a big blanket so they wouldn't get the carpet dirty. Set everything up for us etc. Again the whole crew was great! I would recommend them to anyone.

My overall experience was great. I hardly rate anything 5 stars but I didn’t have any major issues with this company. Below are a list of pros and cons based on my experience: Pro: x The rep I spoke to when booking, Maya, was very helpful, polite and sweet and accommodated all my questions. I scheduled my move between 1-3p and was told to expect 2 movers who would call me when they were on their way. x movers were awesome! Got everything out of there really quickly (I’m talking lightening fast) and were extremely respectful and patient. Thanks Roberto, Alberto & Hector! x handled my furniture with care. Even helped fix my wobbly dresser for free. x came with a mattress cover ($16 charge) so my mattress was protected. I know they have all types of things in their truck so no worries if you forgot to get something or need an extra box. x they asked me where I wanted boxes/stuff/furniture placed and assembled my bed. So now unpacking is super easy. Con: x rep told me she would be sending 2 movers. The movers called on their way and told me “the company ended up sending 3” which meant I had to pay an extra $15/hr. Your mistake, but I have to pay? Weird. x I heard they typically arrive a few mins before the appointment. They didn’t arrive till 1:30p. Which wasn’t a big deal bc they called ahead to let me know they were running behind but just thought I’d mention anyway. x quotes aren’t fixed and the min is 3h. I ended up paying an extra $200 over what was originally quoted. Hope this is helpful.

I've moved well over a dozen times in my life and this is the first time I've hired a moving company. Needed to move my mother from Acton to Quincy and my whole fam works crazy schedules so the best option was to hire movers. Quoted price was a littler lower than the final price but these guys worked hard for it, and deserved the final estimate. My mother had older fragile extremely heavy furniture that I had no idea how it was gonna make it out ok. The job took up the whole day. Was quoted around $700 and it ended up being about $900. I'm an honest locksmith (very rare in my industry these days) and I accidentally quote low sometimes on a big job because problems happen during the job that can't be seen beforehand. Can't blame them for the price. 3 guys, a large truck, gas, materials, ads, tax. They are making an honest living. Great service, great job. I need to move my mother again in a month as this is a temporary move (everything in storage) and i will be hiring them again!

The actual movers we had were pretty good. Thourough with packing our things and protecting them. But our actual issue was with the moving company itself. When it came time to pay at the end they wanted to charge us 6 hrs of "labor" but only did about 3 hrs worth. It turns out, they also wanted to charge for the hours they drove to our place, the hour it took to drive to the place we were moving to (which WAS included in the estimate) and the hour to drive back to their office. They did not include the first and last hour in the estimate at all despite the fact they knew they had to also drive those hours, and only estimated it would be 1.5 hrs of travel time charge. Therefore I'd consider it a hidden fee at the end of 2 additional hours we ended up having to pay for. If we knew it ahead of time, we'd have no problem paying and would have no other real issues with the company. It was disappointing to not have a good experience with that, otherwise it was pretty good.

These guys are pretty awesome. From start to beginning. After calling from company to company it is always tough to find an accurate estimate . Companies usually will give you an estimate off by 3 hours and charge when its already done. Which is kinda scummy but these guys are very upfront with you. Which is HUGE!!! Guys are the best English speaker ever but do communicate with you pretty well. Very nice and polite. Not even that they have someone that checks in with you afterwards to make sure everything went well and that you are happy. Just keep in mind to always add an extra or two to the estimate to make sure because stuff happens. But overall very pleased.

These guys were great in almost every way. First, they took the job with 24 hours' notice. The downside was they were a fair bit more expensive ($139/hour for 4 ppl) than my 1st choice company (who was bookedby time I called to confirm the deal). Second, they arrived 25 minutes *early* on a Saturday morning. Third, the job was expected to last ~5 hours and actually took 11.5 hours because I decided *while they were there* to also have them move all the stuff from the basement due to injuring my wrist a couple days earlier. Our move was literally around the corner (1/5 mile away) so they moved all the furniture first, then came back and moved all the boxes & misc. tools/bikes/garden stuff and plastic sheds. They were very efficient and no one was ever standing around waiting for instrucitons. The four guys took less than an hour for lunch (although, I think I paid for that time so I need to have my invoice adjusted). Things that need improving: (1) Stop tipping boxes sideways. It never occurred to me my boxes would be flipped upside down during the moving process, so a number of things were in complete disarray when I opened some of the boxes. Even things marked FRAGILE were flipped over although nothing so marked was damaged. (2) Gentle treatment of shelving. They removed many shelves from bookcases but did NOT wrap them in blankets, just packing-taped them together, so many of the wooden shelf ends/edges received minor scuffs or nicks. However, one shelf was badly damaged because they didn't remove it properly and ripped off a large (2" triangle) section of the top-facing right-hand corner. (3) Dropping things. I happened to go out to the truck and saw them in the midst of picking up something they'd dropped on the ground. When I went out again after they left, I discovered that not only had they not finished picking up all the pieces from the ground, but that some of what had been picked up had been dumped into a nearby trash can! (It was a set of 5x7 thin cardboard tray puzzles from Abdow's Big Boy circa 1975 and from McDonald's circa 1976. Worth $$) The items were small and may have appeared "worthless", but they had both sentimental and cash value, and I'll be filing a claim for them as well as the damaged shelf. All in all, I was very pleased with their work, considering it took the ENTIRE day. There were some miscommunications with regard to where boxes in the basement needed to be stacked (based on contents), but that was a minor inconvenience and due to a lack of their communication/coordination and language barrier when I did give instructions. I would certainly hire them again, and I am likely to move in 5 months, so perhaps they'll do an even better job in the spring.
