I have recently completed a long distance move with Town & Country Movers, Inc. They moved our belongings from South Carolina to Maryland, including a layover in their temperature controlled warehouse. For those of you who might be reading this review, you understand the difficulty of finding a company that you can trust and easily navigate. I found the service provided by Town and Country to be exceptional. I can honestly say that we had a stress free moving experience. I worked with a Moving Consultant named Jason Bass. Jason was professional and knowledgeable from start to finish. That includes the attention to detail necessary to complete an accurate inventory of our house, and to provide what I considered a very competitive estimate. He was available to answer questions and guide us throughout. He also seemed genuinely invested in a good outcome. The crew on both ends was equally professional, efficient, and hard working. Nothing was broken and they handled our belongings with care. The process of working with Town & Country was seamless. I highly recommend them for a short or long distance move. I recently moved my parents from Illinois to Maryland and used Town & Country movers to get them here. I was very impressed with the whole Town & Country move experience. The crew of two who packed up and loaded in IL was phenomenal - they were both careful and fast, and took such care with my parents’ things. They handled their sleep number bed and the other bulky items with ease. They did a similarly fantastic job unloading in Rockville, and the third gentleman who joined them for unloading was just as fast, helpful, professional, and courteous as the initial crew. I can’t say enough how great they were to work with from beginning to end - a move can be a very stressful experience, but the crew made this move the easiest one I’ve ever experienced. The office support throughout was been great as well. You all are top notch! Thank you SO MUCH Town & Country for making this such an easy, pleasant experience (not two words that I’ve ever associated with a move before 😊),

We've used Town and Country Movers several times. Once to move our stuff into storage in between homes (and used their storage facilities), once to move into a new building, and once for a same building (different unit) move. All three times, the movers were so friendly and helpful with everything we needed. All of our possessions were moved (and stored) with care and made it to our new homes in perfect condition. I highly recommend Town and Country Movers. Also - the movers that came to our house were very nice to our dogs which was a nice added bonus.

OMG!! Town&Country Movers are the absolute BEST!! Please understand that I have moved no fewer than 30 times as a former journalist. And if you want to rest confident, knowing that your possessions are being carefully handled—hire this mover!! The team arrived early, worked steady and systematically!! They moved my 95 bins plus furniture including my 7-ft bookcases without even a pause. They wrapped everything immediately so my ebony-shaded furniture arrived without those annoying little dings! They expertly dismantled and later reassembled my bed-with-drawers and my table. No problems whatsoever!!! I can honestly say my move day was a breeze!! Thank you Town & Country Movers!!

I used Town and Country to move furniture from a location in DC to a school in Olney MD. The price quote was reasonable and was given to me a few hours after the request. They did a fantastic job. They were professional and worked moving items in with students moving throughout the building. They took apart the furniture and put it back together and did it in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to use them at any time going anywhere. They are very professional and trustworthy .

My husband and I were moving from Chicago to Baltimore, and I was dreading the part where we had to find movers. Our realtor recommended a couple of places. Ryan responded almost immediately with a phone call, I listed rough inventory estimates of what we were moving via email, and we had a quote fast. Another company just sent a one sentence email two days later. Then, I worked with Isaac. He called me prior to the pickup date to ask a few questions, and he told me he'd be there at 9am. I had heard all of my friend's stories about waiting around all day, so I was skeptical. Then, at 8:50am on moving day, Isaac called to say he'd be 10min late because of traffic. I was floored. It felt like I had an incredibly dependable friend who showed up to take care of my things. He drove all the way from Maryland. I figured yeah, but I'll never see this guy again right? No, he told me he'd be the one to show up on drop off day. They really do send their own people to do it all! Not only that, but we had a few things we didn't know how to pack. Never fear, Isaac and team whipped out their boxes and protected everything. My husband and I just watched in awe the entire time. It all happened so fast. And on drop off day? Isaac rolled up again RIGHT ON TIME. He and his team whisked our belongings in, perfect condition, seemingly undisturbed through the move...it blew my mind. I hope I never have to move again, but if I do, I'm 100% using Town & Country. My only tip - which is on me - is to consider that if the temperatures outside are freezing, what you're packing will be too. I wouldn't have tried to save my half bottle of dish soap or olive oil. ;-)

All of the moving staff (Jose, Julio, and Cavine) were very courteous and respectful of our belongings, taking extra care and working as a team to ensure things were packed and unpacked/delivered exactly where we needed them. Julio B., Jose O. and Tavaine B. were our movers and they were incredible! Super friendly, respectful and polite, and communicated with us well at all stages of the move. Arrived when they said they would and careful but still swift in moving everything. They knew how to move a sleep number bed and waited until we were sure it was working and set up properly. Our move, including a second drop off location, could not have gone any smoother. We want to thank this crew, and for Missy, who initially met with us to set it up and coordinate the pre-move and box supply. Great experience and highly recommend!

I am leaving this review because I wanted to share my recent experience with Town & Country Movers. I recently relocated from Mclean VA to San Antonio, TX. As soon as I began my search for a mover I entered requests for information online for several moving companies. I did this on a Sunday. Within an hour, I received only one response from Ryan who is a VP at Town & Country. Within another hour he had determined exactly what was required and provided a very reasonable quote. It took the other companies over four days before I received another response. Some never responded. After reviewing the other quotes I realized that most were significantly over priced, even double or triple the quote from Town & Country. Not a single one was truly interested in understanding the true scope of the move. I therefore decided to go with Town & Country. On the day of the pack out four personnel arrived and within four hours I was completely packed and moved out of my place. The packers were all incredibly professional, thorough, careful, and took great care with my personal belongings. Several days later I received my household goods in San Antonio. The truck driver from Town & Country and all his assistants who helped deliver and place my household goods were equally careful and attentive in all manner of actions required for delivery. After careful evaluation following unpacking boxes, not one single item was broken or missing. Everything packed arrived in perfect condition. As a retired US Army Officer I have made over 20 moves in my lifetime. Every single one of them involved theft and destruction of my personal property. Town & Country Movers was the first move I have ever made where every aspect of the move from start to finish was done with the utmost of professionalism, care and concern. I am deeply impressed with this company and the attitude of everyone I spoke to and engaged with. In addition, the quote provided to me initially was highly accurate post delivery. This is a company I believe you can trust to take good care of your move. I would definitely use them again.

Contractors Manuel and Raymond were sent to us to help us with the move from our apartment to townhome, and honestly--we couldn't have even done half of it without them. The job took longer than we previously anticipated, but they remained professional, upbeat, and kept us in good spirits the whole day. They impressively maneuvered through our old and new homes with as much ease as was practically possible, including narrow stairwells. They handled delicate items very well, disassembled and reassembled furniture for us, and did everything they could to help save us time and energy. Rene and his crew arrived exactly on schedule in PA for pickup and again in MD for drop-off. My husband and I recently moved from Northern Va to Port St. Lucie, Florida. We sold our home of almost 43 years in early 2021 and at that point needed to move to a temporary rental for the year in Fairfax while our new Florida home was being constructed. AMY AND HER TEAM did an OUTSTANDING job facilitating our move which was multi-faceted! Due to Covid we did the estimate on line via FaceTime. Actually, the final weight was LESS than what was quoted which worked well for us… Town and Country made sure that the furniture we neeeded for the year was promptly delivered to our temporary condo while the remaining pieces were placed in their Storage Unit. When the builder contacted us to finally tell us our home was ready we reached out to Amy and she was very flexible in scheduling and coordinating furniture pickup from our rental as well as scheduling the actual move of furniture from their storage facility to Florida. There was constant communication with the team from the very start to the very end… And I can’t finish this review without having mentioning how wonderful PAUL OUR MOVER WAS ! He initially oversaw the move of our things out of our temporary rental on February 14 ~ he was great (professional, hardworking, personable and organized). And he called us from the road a few days prior to the Van arriving at our Florida home so we had time to prepare for Town and Country’s arrival. We had the pleasure of once again working with PAUL 😊 as he unloaded the truck. Thanks ~ Town and Country Movers for taking some of the stress out of our move. We highly recommends you !!!

In addition to the usual furniture and personal items, they handled large, heavy machines in the basement woodworking shop. No scratches or breakage at all – not every company can do that. We wish to commend Rene Ruiz and his crew for the excellent service provided in packing, loading, and delivery of our home furnishings from June 28-30, 2021. The crew that packed our breakables did an excellent job. We have unpacked nearly everything, and have found no items broken or damaged. Considering that this included china, crystal, and porcelain figures, their care for our items was excellent. The extremely hot and humid conditions made it especially challenging for the crew to load and unload items. Rene managed his team well, making sure they took breaks and drank lots of water as appropriate to prevent heat stress. He also guided and managed the team to efficiently pack and unload our items. This included the electronics packed by the crew on June 29th. We were so impressed with the crew on June 29th that packed and loaded our furnishings that we called to ask for them to be the crew delivering our furnishings. We felt fully informed throughout the moving process, including the visit by Jackie Davis to estimate the move. As furnishing were loaded, we were informed and asked our preference about any particular concerns regarding the safety of our furnishings. A sincere effort was made to deliver boxes and furnishings in the correct location in the new house. It has truly made it a much easier process to unpack our items as a result.

As you all know, moving can be incredibly stressful. First off, my boyfriend and I were completely packed up by the time the movers got to the apartment, we don't have all that much stuff, but we lived at a third floor walk up and didn't want to move heavy furniture down the cement flights of stairs, so we had a very simple, but labor intensive, moving process needed. The quote we originally got from our sales rep (James) was very clear and he asked us about any additionals we may need (mattress bag, TV box, etc.) and was explicit on the pricing for those, so going into this move we had a concise understanding of what the end price could and did look like. I was slow on getting paperwork back to them and they had absolutely no issue with it and were very accommodating. For the move, Roberto and his two other moving guys (William and Gilberto???) were extremely quick and gentle with our furniture. They wrapped everything up very nicely, took apart and put together our bed frame and couch, and were prepared to help us pack if it was needed. They were very thorough and made sure we had all of our stuff before leaving, and were extremely professional and nice during the whole process! Overall it was an extremely pleasant experience, and they made the stress and wariness of moving, especially since this was our first time using a moving company, very worry-free. These guys are fabulous. We had our move planned for February 20. As the day approached, so did predictions of snow and sleet. Which we got. All morning. Town and Country showed up, even a few minutes early, and started loading our 120 boxes and all our furniture, Everything was protected from the weather, even though they had to carry everything about 50 feet through the weather because some construction at our condo building kept the truck from being able to back right up to the loading door. The four men were charming, careful, and quick. We had some fragile lamps and tables which they transported successfully. We had a very heavy Italian majolica table top, which they moved without damaging it or themselves. It is impossible for us to imagine a better move. No damage, terrible weather, came in a bit under estimate. These guys are great.

What an amazingly painless move. I moved from an apartment in Aspen Hill to a townhouse in Montgomery Village in November 2017, and Town & Country Movers was outstanding. Their office staff was incredibly responsive when I was still shopping around, and the employee that they sent over to give me a detailed estimate was very helpful in explaining all of my options to get the best final rate for a pack and move. Biggest surprise for me was learning that adding a fourth guy to the move crew cost less in the end than having three guys. On the day of the move, the guys came to the apartment at the appointed time, and packed everything up and loaded it into the truck in the span of about three hours. Then after a lunch break, it took about two hours to unload in the new place. The guys were incredibly professional and helpful, and made sure that everything was perfect before leaving. 10/10 would recommend to others.

We moved our full apartment into a row house across town, and the guys doing our move were so speedy and professional. Picking a good moving company is crucial to minimizing the stress of moving. I would highly recommend using Town & Country Movers, Inc for your next move. I have dealt with a few moving companies in the past and they were by far the most pleasant to work with from beginning to end. In addition to moving, I also paid to have the household goods packed. The packers took their time to pack everything and loaded everything onto the truck carefully.My vehicle and the 6,000 lbs of household goods were all transported on one truck from CO to PA in 4 days. The unloading was just as smooth. They called me a few hours prior to arriving at the destination so that I could accept the delivery. I would do business with them in the future.

Our twins were one and our oldest was all of 2 and a half but thanks to Town & Country the move was the smoothest of any of my moves, including when I was single. Very professional and efficient. The team of 5 ladies show up and packed everything, fast but with care. The next day the moving crew (Walter, Secar, Wilman, Carlos and Jr) disassembled everything and loaded up 2 trucks, unloaded and reassembled all in one day. These guys did not take a break, they worked like it was their own home. By the way we had a thunderstorm in the middle of unloading and somehow they managed not to get anything wet and keep our new home clean. The team moved furniture and art work from a 9000 square foot home in one day. Wow.

Town and Country took great care in packing and moving our furniture and other items between Maryland and Massachusetts. Ahead of our pre-sale home renovations in Maryland including the re-surfacing of the hardwood floors, they had removed items to their storage facility and had done two internal moves. All went very well. I found the packers and movers to be extremely hard-working and quite conscientious in protecting items. They were meticulous in logging items and creating an inventory. The movers were friendly, efficient and exercised care on the Maryland side. On the Massachusetts side, the team was hard-working but a little understaffed—they most certainly needed another mover on the team, and I was actually concerned for the team’s safety as they were moving heavy furniture upstairs and struggling at times. All this would have earned a 5-star review and my full endorsement, if not my disappointment in the way the Management handled a claim. After the 18-wheeler departed my Massachusetts home, I was alarmed to find a 3 or 4 foot deep dip at the end of the driveway by the street—the dip was the full width of the driveway. Clearly, a gully had been created by the weight of the tractor trailer. It was like an inverse speed-bump which created a receptacle for water (and as I would discover later in the the fall—ice) and caused cars entering or exiting our property to jarringly dip down and then up. I immediately pointed out the issue the next day after the move and sought an estimate for repair from a well-respected, local asphalt paving company (the Town contracts for services so a very reputable company). When I presented Town & Country Management with the estimate, they challenged the driveway damage, saying that the ground was soft to begin with and I had agreed to allow their truck over it. (They had earlier proposed an expensive and unrealistic solution of shuttling items from the street all the way to the house—the driveway is the length of a football field). In several conversations over a week or two period, Town & Country Management would call me on speakerphone with four or five individuals on the line, all challenging my claim. In one call, I heard from the driver, the claims person, two managers, and an executive—all telling me that I was wrong. I felt that I was being ganged up on and I was unfairly on the defensive. I certainly did not feel like a customer. They even called my proposed asphalt vendor and queried him on the quality of the ground in an attempt to bolster the Town & Country claim that I had a pre-existing condition. (By the way, the 18-wheeler also included the contents of another customer—after unloading, the truck had departed my home for N.H. so my driveway was not only bearing the weight of my moving contents but another customer’s stuff). After several calls with Management and disgust at the process, I was offered and received only half payment for the driveway damage—not enough to fix the problem. It’s a shame my experience with the friendly, hard-working line employees was overshadowed by Management. Every day, when I pull in and out of my driveway, I think about this experience. All they needed to do was fully pay for the damage which their tractor trailer truck created. Someone had told me that you really find out how good your moving company is at the claim stage—because something invariably happens. I should have listened.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was worried about my long distance move since I have a friend who made the same move a few months ago using another, less reputable moving company (Alliance Relocation Systems, in case you're wondering) and it took her a month to get her stuff and some of it was damaged or missing. I recently moved from Maryland to Florida and decided to use Town & Country Movers based on their reviews as well as their proximity to my house. Juan and his crew showed up at my house promptly at 9am Friday morning and loaded up my belongings into a semi in a little over two hours. This required them to carry everything down my driveway, which is quite steep. I was worried this would be an additional charge but there was none. I was expecting it to take them a week or so to get my stuff down to Florida but I was told they would be there on Sunday, two days later. To say that was a pleasant surprise is an understatement. Sure enough, I get a call from Juan on Saturday night confirming that they would be ready to unload at 10am on Sunday. I meet them Sunday morning at the storage unit where I'm keeping my stuff and Juan and his coworker are there right on time. It was nice to see my stuff in the hands of the same people and in the same truck that it was loaded onto. No subcontractors like so many movers use. I was concerned that they would have trouble getting the truck into the storage facility, which proved to be a valid concern. If you've ever been at a public storage facility, you know that there are rows of buildings. There wasn't sufficient space for Juan to maneuver the truck to the entrance of the building my storage unit was in so he ended up having to park the truck one row over from my building. Juan said that in situations like this, they normally have to get a smaller truck to "shuttle" everything over to where it needs to be off-loaded and this would cost an extra $500 plus the extra time to load and unload my stuff. I wasn't happy but understood and felt is was reasonable since they couldn't get the truck any closer than about 200 feet from my storage unit. However, after a few minutes of Juan talking with his coworker, they decided that they would use the carts provided by the storage company and literally walk everything from the truck to the storage unit, saving me lots of money and time. They were done in less than 2 hours and had stacked everything in the storage unit with room to spare. Juan even gave me a cold bottle of water as I stood outside in the Florida heat, holding the door open for them as they carried my stuff inside. Everyone I dealt with was fantastic and I would highly recommend using Town & Country Movers.
