We relocated from outside of the US so the shipping/moving process took some time. But once it got to Olympia's warehouse and city permits were applied, the entire experience was super smooth and efficient plus we had a very capable crew on hand to get all of our belongings into the rightful place (including last minute changes) and some tight spaces. Thank you for taking the stress out of the process and a memorable experience.

Ty, Aaron and Jouan are amazing! The delivered my belongings from a cross country move, arranged by my employer. They were friendly, efficient and kind. They ensured that all of my belongings arrived without damage and placed everything exactly where we wanted it! It is my pleasure to share my positive experience working with Olympia Moving & Storage for my recent move. I was extremely impressed by the team led by Foreman, Remus. It is incredible what they were able to accomplish in a two-day period. The team members showed up on time with a positive and friendly attitude each day. They took care to drape and protect my floors, doorframes, and railings with moving blankets to ensure there was no damage. They worked efficiently to execute a well-thought-out approach to emptying the house in an organized manner that ensured we were able to quickly access our most needed items upon delivery. This team was patient and accommodated all of my requests - including requests to relocate furniture multiple times. I had several heavy and fragile items, including large decorative mirrors, and nothing was damaged - not one thing. I should mention that they were able to successfully move multiple large planters with trees and place them in their new location. Perhaps most impressively, they were able to move my 430 lbs Peloton Tread Plus and place it in an upstairs room. I highly recommend this professional team of movers. I used Olympia for my move from Alexandria, VA to Ijamsville, MD. Dan came by to the condo to look at all of our furniture to give us the most accurate quote (I shopped around for quotes and Olympia was the only company to offer to come over). Candace helped us throughout the moving process before movers arrived. Brian and his moving team did a wonderful job at moving our stuff carefully and efficiently (3rd floor walk up). They were such a pleasure to work with and so well organized. Our bill ended up being higher than quoted but that's because once we packed up our home, we ended up having a lot more stuff than anticipated during the quote so it took longer to take everything down to the truck and organize it.

Our Olympia Moving crew was professional, courteous and caring of our valued personal belongings. We have extremely large and heavy solid wood furniture that was handcrafted overseas. This crew moved it with care up and down spiraling staircases. The crew chief was extremely professional and courteous when I asked for clarification on our quote versus execution. With other crews, I could see this become a defensive conversation but instead it was a straight forward conversation. He even politely encouraged me to call the head office and speak to the manager who provided the quote. There was a ton of small things this crew did that made my wife and I feel fortunate to have them working with us. Thanks guys.

Thoroughly impressed with Olympia Moving & Storage. A friend had recommended them after being very satisfied with her move from MA to DC (4 bedroom house). So I felt I was in good hands for my local move in VA from a townhouse to a single family home. I wanted a successful and price competitive experience. From start to finish the process was professional and customer friendly. First Cole Beeby called me, took pictures of my belongings by phone which only took 30 minutes. I got the estimate the same day. Then Brooke St. Cyr from headquarters was following up by email and telephone every step of the way. Finally on move day Remus and his team packed carefully and moved efficiently all my furniture and boxes. They did a great job taking furniture apart and putting it back together. In fact Remus took the time to adjust my hutch doors so that they closed perfectly which they didn't before the move. I would recommend this company to family and friends.

The company is well-staffed and communicates at every step of the way, from accurately estimating the size of the truck and storage space we'd need, giving advice on packing, and scheduling the most convenient time for the move, we felt reassured. They sent courteous and careful movers who allowed us to make last-minute additions or deletions. The movers called when they could come earlier than scheduled which we appreciated. It all went smoothly.

The crew showed up on time and quickly organized the safest and best way to move the furniture into the house. My biggest worry was the 7-foot Steinway that had been stored for more than 8 years with Olympia. The crew moved it into the house and set it up. (Takes some doing.) It looked and sounded as good as the day we packed it away. (Olympia has climate-controlled storage for pianos, and it made all the difference.) The crew was great to work with, didn't complain when I changed my mind about the location of certain pieces, and brought great credit to their company. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

First off, Cole and Brooke were amazing. Overall, I feel I am a pretty easy client but I like to stay informed and will call every time I have a question. They may have not answered once but then called me back pretty promptly. So from the customer service stand point it was great and they both touched base with me on the days leading up to the move. The move date came it was scheduled for 8:00am and the movers (Rashod, Joe, and Robert) were there by 7:50. They were kind, curtious, and even had a sense of humor which made talking with them fun while also letting them do their job.The move was finished way ahead of schedule but they did not emphasize speed over quality it was speed and quality mixed. I also was moving to a third floor with no elevator and I never heard even one complaint they had a job, did the job, and treated me and my belongings with respect and friendliness. Overall I got a quality, friendly, efficient service for an extremely fair price compared to competitors.I used reviews like mine to help me decide who I wanted to help me move. Lastly just some friendly advice if it's your first time hiring movers like it was mine (from my experience) when looking for a company especially with trusting them with your stuff look at reviews like this and their BBB rating. That's how I chose Olympia and I couldn't have been any more satisfied!

Olympia Movers handled our move with the utmost professionalism from Dan's estimate and outline of services, to Brooke's attention to detail throughout the move and our moving crew (pick up and delivery) lead by Rashod and team members Isnaet, Javon, Kenan, Ivica. The moving crew was right on time, worked quickly, and took good care of our belongings. The estimate they provided was spot on, no surprises after the move. The destination was a 115 year old building that didn't have an elevator and had a narrow 3-flight stairway that was dimly lit. I'm giving Olympia 5 stars for their service, but with a caveat. As far as moving services go, Olympia really does a fantastic job. Rashad was our foreman and he was excellent as was the rest of the crew. They were friendly, efficient, and careful. They definitely know what they are doing! We worked with John Crawford from the start to book moving services and John was wonderful. Friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. John also stopped by on the day of the move to check in and make sure everything was going well, which we appreciated. So, all this being said, I would highly recommend Olympia if you need a great moving company... BUT (my caveat)... if you are not local to or close to Hyattsville, just be aware that Olympia charges their hourly rate from the time their truck leaves the warehouse to the time it arrives back to the warehouse. For us, that meant we were charged for about 3 hours of time when they truck was not actually moving our belongings. Admittedly, we should have read the fine print more closely prior to making our decision. And, that being said, John did empathize with us on this issue and work with us to reach a fair solution. I just really do wish they would reevaluate and come up with a better way to charge for travel time so folks who live a bit further out can still use their services without being burned on travel fees. I'm still giving Olympia 5 stars because John, Rashad, and the rest of the moving crew really did give us 5 star service, and it wouldn't be fair for me to ding their service based on a company policy that they have no control over. Overall, we had a great experience with Olympia.

I was a little nervous because their estimate came in lower than another company, but they were fantastic. Dan S. Came out to our house to do a walk through for an accurate estimate at a time that was convenient for me. Then the actual moving crew of 4 guys and 1 truck were great. Brian's team were courteous, professional, clearly knew what they were doing, were organized, methodical, careful, meticulous, and frankly, helpful to us who were still throwing last minute items into boxes while they were hauling our belongings out the door. Olympia moved our belongings out of an apartment, stored the stuff for 5 years while we were overseas, and then moved it into our new house when we returned. All of our belongings were in great shape, and the movers on both ends were excellent--on time, very efficient, and careful. Olympia Moving was far and away the best moving experience we’ve ever had. Today, I received my belongings, which were shipped on a cargo boat from Shanghai, China to the United States. I used Crown Relocation Services, and they used Olympia Moving to bring my belongings from the warehouse to my home. I would like to express my thanks and satisfaction with the service I received today. The delivery man - Kyle - was exceptional. He called to provide an approximate arrival time and arrived within thirty minutes of that time. Kyle unloaded and deposited the boxes in the proper locations. He was friendly, professional, and very polite throughout his time here. I appreciated his service. We moved on short notice during the COVID pandemic with a newborn baby and needed full-service support. Olympia was recommended to us by our realtor and we got several other quotes, some that were cheaper -- but we'd have paid more in the end because those quotes underestimated the overall time needed. Based on pics I added to a video app, Olympia's quote was 2 hours over what we ended up needing (as opposed to quoting us 3 hrs for a move that took 6 hrs, like one competitor did). The crew members were professional and efficient despite pouring rain off and on for moving day. They packed our items well and not a single thing was broken or missing. Easiest move we've made -- and we've had 6 addresses combined in the last 10 years!

Very pleased with them from beginning to end. Olympia's estimator explained the moving process, provided tips on what we should and should not move ourselves, and provided a realistic quote. This was by far the best move that I have had and I have used a handful of moving companies. There was a little mix up with getting my deposit paid as well as processing my final payment, but it was resolved quickly. If it were not for that it would be 5 stars based on the guys who physically moved me. They were quick, efficient and professional. The company that moved my items into storage did a horrible job, but these gentlemen made the best of what they walked into. I appreciate that for once my father and I did not have to lift a finger. We literally told them where to put items and they did the rest. If I ever move again, which I don’t plan on, I wouldn’t hesitate to use Olympia. I’m definitely going to recommend them to anyone I know who is looking for movers.

Olympia Moving and Storage was awesome. I can only begin to tell you how pleased my wife and I was with their services. It started with the initial phone call to get a quote. I don't remember the gentleman's name, but he was so pleasant and ask so many questions, seeming very concerned and interested with our move, that I never bothered to call another company to get another quote. I could tell that I was going to get a first class company and I was correct! Along the way, someone from the office was in touch with me through email the entire time. Confirming, and then re-confirming our appointment. Asking me if we needed help packing. The movers arrived on the morning of April 27th within the 30-minute time that I was provided. Three big strong looking guys with a big truck. All of them were pleasant, well-dressed,in uniforms, and seemed happy to be there. The foreman was Victor. We had an incredible amount of things to move,. My wife and I did a good job packing and they did an even better job of getting it onto the truck and into our new home. They started about 0830 on Saturday morning and by 1300 they were saying their goodbyes. Our goal for our next move is to totally relocate to another state, but if there's any way possible that we can reuse Olympia Moving and Storage it would be a no-brainer.

Moving is stressful no matter the situation but from the moment Dan Sheehan arrived to look at the house, efficiently gave us an approximate estimate that same visit and followed up with a formal contract shortly thereafter we felt we were in good hands. Melissa followed up with copies of the contract, answered all questions quickly and thoroughly. And the day of—our team was outstanding! Friendly and calm, worked efficiently and in a coordinated manner. We had several steps (packing, moving some things to a storage unit, others to new home...) and they were consistently professional and compassionate! We had a super easy move. While we had over 5 tons of household items to be moved the crew including, Remus, Karolis and Adrianno were a joy to work with. The entire crew had a very can do attitude and asked questions about placement of furniture so we wouldn't have to relocate it later. Ours was a complicated move and the team from Olympia handled it flawlessly. We were downsizing in Virginia and moving to a new house in Maine. That meant dividing up furniture, kitchen items, art work and assigning it to different locations. The movers did it all over a two-day period without anything being misdirected. The load for Maine went into storage for four months. The truck for our transitional apartment in Virginia had to wait a week before we could get into the new place. Special items got special handling. The only things that broke were the items we packed ourselves. Everyone on each end of both moves was polite, careful, and quick. When we move to Maine full-time we’ll use Olympia again.

Rates were very competitive, the workers very efficient, and more helpful than necessary. I had a good one-bedroom move from Arlington, Virginia, to Trumbull, Connecticut. I was reasonably well organized and only required moving - no storage or packing - and all was done well. The driver and one local helper picked up - in good spirits, and conscientious. The same driver delivered (with a new local helper) - again in good spirits and conscientious. Pickup was on time and completed well within the window I was allowed in Arlington; delivery was as promised - prompt, and quick, too. No damage. Yes, i would call Olympia again; they did a good job for me, and their final price was within a dollar or two of their estimate.

I have been in the military almost 18 years, and have moved at least 10 times...this moving company/the group of gentlemen who moved me, have by far been the best. They packed quickly, had great attitudes, worked transparently with one another. The only sort of "downfalls/negatives" I would note are: --They gave a great deal of wrapping attention to items such as my couches, and kitchenware, but then other items (fragile, wood, etc...) were wrapped loosely. Our record player glass top is cracked, coffee table edges scraped/dented, and I found a box with nothing in it but crushed glass. I figured out that that box contained a glass top used for a desk. I only opened it because you could hear something was shattered. I'm not sure if that was on the losing or gaining end, but it's gone. --The only other complaint I had is that in the military, usually one packer will go over contents of each box before sealing it and placing a sticker on it for identification later. These guys packed, and sealed, and the driver annotated the number and gave generic descriptions of contents. So when I have to sign "agreeing" with what is being shipped, I had no idea what was in what. I have high value items, and we had to scramble to figure out where they were and how they were labeled. Again, minor things but important. I have and I continue to recommend this company.

It was an overall positive experience, but loses two stars due to a variety of issues. Pros: The crew was very polite and responsive and didn't complain one bit or seem off-put by doing physical labor all morning. Cons: 1) We had many items broken, damaged (minor and major), and/or destroyed such as our bed, dressers, night stands, coffee tables, breakfast tables, furniture from our wedding (15 years ago), and items from my wife's childhood. Our initial packer was a company called Arpin International Group out of Louisiana; now my wife and I were there as they packed every item and they took great care (overkill, even) in packing our items, yet, we had many irreplaceable items destroyed anyway by the time it arrived here in Virginia. B/c Olympia was the deliverer of our items and not the packer, I'm unsure of who to pin the damages on. I only know that items were destroyed sometime after they left my home. Meh. Maybe not Olympia's fault, but who is actually going to take fault? But, one of the guys saying, "we didn't do it," didn't help. 2) There were a few items I had to specifically show them to uncrate like the glass tops to my wife's desk that was incased in 1x4's that apparently they were just going to leave as is. Also, they assembled my wife's desk incorrectly and I had to fix it upon its discover a few days later. 3) The last complain--and it's a sensitive issue--is the main guy had a "crip" tattoo on his forearm that is visible. Now, look, I'm all for tattoos (I have several and two below my elbow) and I'm all for turning your life around (at least I hope he doesn't still participate in gang activity), and I'm sure all of their crew is vetted properly, but at some point if you're going to be handling people's most sensitive stuff, and moving in and out of their home as you please, consider tattoo removal or, at the very least, cover such a polarizing tattoo from your arm. That's just my two cents. Want to make it clear that he did nothing that made me or my wife feel unsafe, but just a bit off-putting. **UPDATE** Due to your great response and thoroughness, I have raised the rating from three stars to four. Considering the last point, again, that's why I said it's a sensitive issue; there's no easy way to say what I needed to say. However, while we are understanding of people's past life choices, other people may not be as understanding and your crew is the face of your company. And, while I'm sure the vetting process is quite thorough, many people do not know that.
