I've known about Golden North for 20+ years having worked in relocation arrangements in a previous job. After having a few different companies quote my move, I selected Golden North as my origin agent for an out-of-state move, as they provided the greatest value for my move. I did the home quote/review 100% virtually and it was seamless and spot-on. Mira and Taylor are fantastic. They provide timely and professional communication. I was able to speak to them when I called and any messages were returned the same day rather email or phone. In the supply chain/logistics industry in today's marketplace, that is a rare find and adds to the overall quality of my move. The packing was professionally done. I've had terrible movers before and I can say that my things were packed with care. In fact, I have zero broken glass because of the care that was taken. The 3 person crew did a great job packing and loading. My delivery agent was late on the day of move-in. Mira worked with the delivery agent to get an updated timeline and get things moving in the right direction. Within 30 minutes I had a phone call and a new estimated delivery time that the crew met. If you are looking for a professional, responsive, and quality mover in Anchorage, look no further. Golden North stands above its competitors and treats its customers with care.

In September 2019 our business Snow Blossom Acupuncture, LLC - Wellness & Float Center gave Golden North a very big task. We had them move a Float Tank up to our second story office, in which they had to use the stairs. They worked hard to take care of our new piece of equipment (which was very very heavy) - everyone that helped in this process gave exceptional care to this unique move. First of all, if you are planning a move in Alaska, these guys are who you should contact. Our move to the Kenai Peninsula was anything but typical. We dealt with shipping issues due to the pandemic, a seriously long distance move from the East to Alaska. Golden North took care of us from the Port of Anchorage to the Kenai Peninsula. The coordinator called us prior to the move, and was courteous and helpful. On the day of our move, we had below zero temps and had 10 inches of snow on the ground. We had also been told that because of where we lived they would probably need 2 days so they can bring our stuff to the house in several truckloads. When they arrived at our house, they were courteous, and immediately began to lay cardboard down so they didn't mess up our floors. We discussed where things went and they immediately got to work unloading. Much to our surprise and delight, they were able to bring everything up in 1 truckload. We told them to leave the boxes in the garage so we could go through everything at our pace. They stacked the boxes in such a way that we could get our car in the garage as well, something we greatly appreciated. My only "complaint " was that some of the heavy boxes were stacked high up, but space was limited, and they did an overall great job. They placed the furniture where we asked them to and removed and discarded all packaging. They get further props for working while we had a 5.9 earthquake shake the house for about 30 seconds! The movers were extremely courteous, very efficient, and were done with our move in 2 1/2 hours while working in extreme temperatures. I know that if I have to make a move in the future, I will not hesitate to contact Golden North moving. They were fantastic! Very highly recommend, and that is high praise from me, because the beginning of our move with another company was disastrous. Our previous company, backed out the day they were supposed to have had our things packed, after telling us to go ahead and start our 5,283 mile journey to Alaska. Golden North is worth every penny in my eyes. Thank you so much for redeeming the moving industry for us.

I am employed at a local nonprofit in Eagle River that was hit particularly bad with the November 30 earthquake. We had to vacate our office space, as it received significant damage. When we were ready to move into a new location Golden North was AMAZING! They were very generous and offered us a nonprofit price, sent extremely professional and friendly movers who did everything they could to make sure that our transition was smooth. They planned, organized and coordinated the move with us. We really can't say enough about his company! We would highly recommend them for corporate or residential moving! Thanks Golden North!

We have used Golden North Van Lines to move us in town a couple of times and always been pleased with how our belongings were treated and the professionalism of the movers. So when time came to move out of state we called our favorite associate Kim Mahosky. She took care of us as always with great detail on instructing us how to make sure things were moved the most efficient and cost effective manner. The crew that spent a week packing us up were the best!! They wrapped our things so carefully and were very respectful of our personal items. We had a lot of collectables, antiques and family heirlooms that I was very concerned about. But when they arrived at our new home in the lower 48 all was great. The company that unpacked us on the other end even commented they had never seen things wrapped so well. It was worth every dollar spent. You work your entire life collecting your things and it matters it all makes its in good shape. Thank you Kim and the moving crew.

We were so impressed with our experience with Golden North Van Lines! Sales manager, Brian, was meticulous and patient as he assessed our poundage of household goods. He also gave us great advice about moving our car and reducing our total load. Then he kindly came back again after we changed our minds about many furniture items. The Packing crew was also great.(Thank you Kimo, BJ, Derek, Adrian, and June!) They were organized, polite, friendly, and worked incredibly hard and efficiently. They treated my crystal and antiques with great care! I am recommending Golden North to everyone I know, and I told my realtor to do the same.

Having moved in the military my whole childhood, I watch and listened to the horror stories of movers breaking things, ill packing items, damaging walls and furniture, and possessions just being gone when we arrived. So when I moved, I didn't have much confidence. Golden North proved me wrong. I can't stress what an awesome experience this was. Christina, our moving coordinator, kept me informed, answered any questions I had, had patience with us, and always had a friendly demeanor and disposition. The actual crews that packed our house were friendly, clean, professional, and caring. Friendly is an understatement. At both ends, we were treated with true customer service. And we even received an Alaska themed welcome bag when the crew showed up to unload our household goods. As with any move, there are items that may get damaged. We had very minor damage and Golden North shows true concern regarding this and is committed to making these issues correct. If you need a company to move your goods, I can't recommend them enough. We successfully moved from Juneau to Anchorage with the excellent support from Brenda and her team at GSA. It was a very professional yet personal experience. Brenda really cares and she shows it by responding promptly to phone calls and emails and going the extra mile to find solutions. Our move was complicated by a remodel in our destination home and Brenda worked with us to hold onto our items long enough to let the contractors finish up. She regularly called throughout the process to check in and it felt like she was right there with us! The moving team in Juneau World-Wide Movers--with Gil and his crew--are the hardest working guys you will ever meet. They come in and pack everything up with care--and they get the job done. They are professional, no nonsense people. Beside all of that, they are seriously strong. Wow! On the final leg, the GSA moving crew showed up right on time on moving-in day. They were professional, friendly, easy-going guys who will work with you to make sure everything goes where it needs to go and to reassemble furniture. Great team! Overall, amazingly positive experience. Thank you GSA. Moving is stressful but you all made it the least stressful move of our lives. Keep up the good work!

We have had the opportunity to work with Golden North twice, the first purely by chance but the second by request. We were SO IMPRESSED with them during our first relocation that we asked our company if we could use them for our second relocation two years later. Kim was our primary point of contact during both and I cannot say enough about her and her crew. Everything was so well communicated and the moving crews were all so efficient and friendly. Golden North handled a very complicated move for us. 3200 sq ft house, with 40 years of furniture, dishes, glassware, china, lamps, clothing, one automobile, etc., being sent to three locations - town in Seattle and one in Los Angeles. The Golden North crew packed everything. 105 boxes by the time they were done. They were thoroughly professional, and took pains to protect hardwood floors and walls. Everything . . . and I mean EVERYTHING . . . arrived where and when it was supposed to and not a thing arrived with so much as a crack or dent. On delivery, items were unpacked and packing material hauled away. The move was executed perfectly. The administrative support was equally well handled. Brenda was attentive, kept us in the loop, and emailed us at each stage to tell us where things were and what would happen next. The entire staff was focused on making this happen right and the succeeded marvelously. Although I had never heard of Golden North before this experience, I recommend them highly and without any reservation. These folks know what they're doing.

Great pack out from my house and separate storage unit several miles away. Took two days as scheduled. Packers: Terrance, Lucky, Happy and Levi did an excellent job wrapping and packing all my furniture. The Office staff and estimator were very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend them if you need a move.

I highly recommend Golden North Van Lines. Being active duty for over 20 years I have moved several times and this move with Golden North Van Lines from Alaska to Texas far exceeded my expectations. Brenda, my moving consultant, worked with me for over 6 months to coordinate my move as I moved out of my house in Alaska and stored my belongings there until I could move into my house in Texas. Brenda's professionalism, attention to detail and bubbly personality provided me with the confidence I needed to ensure that everything involved with the move would fall into place in the time frame required. My household goods were delivered to the new house in Texas as scheduled (coming by barge and truck) and all of my belongings (from antique furniture and native art to stuffed animals) arrived in perfect condition. :) Thank you Golden North Van Lines!

From start to finish (Fairbanks, AK to Montana) everything went like clockwork, and I couldn’t be happier. Initially though, I was preparing for the worst after having survived several bad military moves. Moving is never an enjoyable experience no matter how you want to look at it. But Golden North Van Lines at least made it pleasant. I would like to offer a special shout-out to Ms. Shawn Shine. This lady was just incredible. In my humble opinion, she alone warranted the five-star review. She was very instrumental in alleviating most of our concerns because she kept us informed every single step of the way. It didn’t matter how many times we called, or the amount of questions that we asked; she always treated us with an enviable level of grace. I even told her over the phone, that we considered ourselves fortunate to have had her as our agent. And when all was said and done...we were. Actually I would give United 10 stars!!!! They are a fantabulous company to do business with. The two gentleman who packed my things, Norman and Rock, were totally awesome. They were so kind, polite and patient. They were fast yet efficient, professional and very considerate in handling my possessions. Love these guys! They made moving from the Lower 48s to Alaska so easy. I felt like they, especially Kim M. who handled my account, really cared about me and wanted to make sure that the move was easy as possible for me. Shortly before the scheduled date to load our household goods, a wildfire broke out near our home and we were under pre-evacuation orders. Kim worked with the local contractor and arranged for them to come a few days early so that our households good would be out before we were evacuated. Awesome!

The 2 guys who did my move were amazing. I have a medically fragile daughter and they took all the precautions necessary, including a zoom walk through before the move and wore their ppe the whole time. Couldn’t have been happier with these guys. I hope I don’t move again anytime soon but if I do I’ll be using them again.

Brenda did a great job arranging all the logistics and the packers were quick and did a great job insuring that all my goods made it from Cordova to Montana in one piece. They even packed up 10 cases of smoked salmon and they made it here without a single jar breaking! Thank you!

The crew was freaking awesome! They all worked together like a well oiled machine - trading in and trading out. Greg Jones (awesome guy!), came by every day to double check because he is just that good. Knew I was a nervous type - reassured me every step of the way. Patient? Wow this guy is so patient you would never feel uncomfortable shipping! He sent a crew - Chuck Tunia (sorry if it is wrong) and Jermaine to start! There was more - Muce who handled my dainty lil antiques - and yes, I mean small ( I was so impressed! These guys care and I felt like I could ask them to move to move a castle and they would not blink. Much appreciation for the feeling of camaraderie and friendship. Thank you all - thank you so much! I apologize that I may not get everyone's name - I was overwhelmed.

I have recently had a move from Anchorage, AK to Lewistown, MT. The staff on both ends were very professional and polite (had to bribe them not to use sir so often). Especially in Lewistown the staff worked with me to find solutions to getting my household goods set up. Turns out the ceiling is less than 8' and the furniture was 7' 11". At 6pm on a Friday with a 2 1/2 hour drive home I was impressed at how patient and willing they were to find solutions to my problem. This is the first time in four moves the company has not only broke down but also reassembled goods. The "Parts Box" was a godsend when my Early Out showed up on Lewistown. Someone took the time to set aside a Anchorage and Lewistown parts box. Appreciated your companies willingness to work with me on identifying and delivering "Early Out" items. In the long run it saved the government money as I was able to move into a rental immediately while looking for permanent housing. Saved the government several weeks worth of lodging/per diem. All in all, I was very impressed with the treatment by all of the Golden North staff and would highly recommend that the government maintain them for any moves.
