I’ve had a couple of bikes completely gone through with the team here. I had one bike that didn’t run when I got it and it sat for 8 years! Runs like new. I never imagined it would ever run again and has quickly became one of my favorite bikes. I will always support this shop.

Chad and team have done a great job of keeping my vintage Honda’s running like new. From carburetor work, brake repair and complicated electrical work; nothing stops these guys from finishing the job. If you are needing anything on two wheels brought back to life, Retro Wrench is your go-to place.
Rich Davidson
This place is great. If you like vintage bikes and you live in the area you need to visit. If you are only there for curiosity go at 5pm on Wednesday or 12 on Saturday. Retro Wrench looks, smells, and feels exactly the way an old motorcycle garage should.

Some of the coolest most knowledgeable bike guys you'll ever meet!!
Layd back atmosphere, but these guys are always busy!! Just about any type of bike you can think of is being worked on in this shop!!

Chad and his guys are hands down the best in the business. I took a 1979 z50r that was my first bike to them in pieces and they were able to get it rebuilt and running in tip top shape. I cant thank them enough and they will have my permanent business.

Went looking for an oil fill plug washer and Chad spent time going through his bins, measuring as he went, until he found a couple that would work. Lot of time for a very small sale. Great effort!

I called and made a appointment to get my SL125 & XL100 back up and running. These guys did a Great Job !!! If you need a tune up or a completed going through this is the shop for you. Honest, Professional guys.. Best shop I have been to Years. Thank You :)

These guys are the best. Had my vintage Honda serviced there this winter. It's never ran better. Recently it was stolen but miraculously found through FB groups a couple of days later. Still starts first kick after someone reamed it "like they stole it" for a couple of days. Called retro, Chad was there In 20 minutes with a trailer.
These guys commit to you and your bikes. If you have a bike in Louisville. This is the shop that should work on it .

Top notch, moral, ethical services at fair prices. Chad is a stand-up guy that maintains gobs of relationships within the motorcycle community for 15 plus years. Very talented and personable.
He is a treasure to have in the community and beloved by all. Highly recommended!

I asked Chad to perform several different tasks, oil change, brakes, etc.. Chad was very professional and timely and very informing along the way.

Chad and his team provided excellent maintenance service on my SV650. They were very professional and helpful in identifying the deficiencies on my bike. I highly recommend them to all of my fellow motorcyclists whom are looking for subject matter experts on motorcycle maintenance.

Great group of people!! I went in to ask about what it takes to be a bike mechanic, and Chad didnt disappoint! He gave me an opportunity to watch a couple of the guys do some work, while giving tidbits of information, inspiration and advice. I will definitely be going back 👍👍 …

Absolutely happy with work done to my RT180. Great guy, great crew!!!
Mike Abel
I have nothing but positive words to say about this man and his team. Extremely knowledgeable, willing to work on my older bike, and quick fixed a new tube when I ran over a nail not 5 miles down the street. I am now a forever customer. If you are on the fence, choose Retro Wrench. (Bonus points: bring him a bottle of local kombucha)

Absolutely the best wrenches in town for vintage motorcycles. They love what they do and it shows in the care and quality of their work. Very fair rates and best of all, no surprises in their billing. Highly recommend!

I dropped an old Honda for a tune up and I must say I had a great overall experience with Chad. He is easy to communicate with and completed all repairs sooner than the previously agreed timeframe. He even polished my fuel tank. Chad and his crew have to be the hands down go to shop in town for older bikes. I'm telling everyone.
Martin Hofmann
If you ride an old bike and live anywhere close to Kentucky than Retro Wrench is the place to go for maintenance and repairs! These guys are at the center of the vintage motorcycle scene in Louisville.
Elijah Ruppel
Great shop. Good communication. Went in to have new tires put on I already bought. Unlike cc power sport they would actually work on them. I had a frustrating experience trying to find a shop that would touch something other than a Harley or let me bring in tires I bought. He set me right up and was fair priced. Definitely recommend, I drove across the river for that and I don’t do that much.

Mr. Chad is THE MAN! My Piaggio MP3500 was giving me issues on a cross country road trip and the man was able to take a look at it the same day (within hours of me calling). Extremely hospitable staff and the garage is a sight to see. It is beautiful. True professionals!!

I brought my 73 triumph to retro wrench for a few different jobs, boyer ignition, tires, leak @ head, stuck clutch plates. The workmanship was great. Chad was patient and seemed happy to answer all my questions I had since I want to do as much future work as possible myself. Took my bike in for those jobs and they also gave it a good wipe down for me so it was nice and shiney when I picked it up. They have also been there for me a couple of times since service with questions I had and one incident where they hooked me up with an inspection port I needed. This is the only bike shop I will be taking my triumph to.
Neal English
Outstanding shop. Chad and his crew are professional and knowledgeable. You won't find a more thorough and helpful staff willing to go through all efforts to keep vintage bikes operating like new.

Retro Wrench is the real deal. My 91 hugger was a mess and they turned it in to a new ride. Amazing magicians. 6 stars.

So happy to finally find someone who knows how to work on my Yamaha scooter! I was impressed right away to hear Chad was familiar with this model. He got it back in great running condition and now I can enjoy it without worry of it stalling or not starting.
Jeff Fusinetti
Amazing work in a fast and timely manner. Don't think because they specialize in old bikes that they cannot fix new ones as well. I've had them work on my 2009 Kawasaki and 2015 Honda CRF. From sports bikes to dirt bikes they cover it all!

I took my 1982 Suzuki GS650GL to a dealer to get the carbs sorted. When I got the bike back it would not rev past 6000 rpm's. I took it back to the dealer and they misdiagnosed the problem. I finally found Chad at Retro Wrench. He got the carbs sorted and he got it done in time for my trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway. After an 830 mile test ride, I can truly say the bike has never run better. Chad is knowledgeable, honest and he loves old bikes. I don't live in Louisville, but it is well worth the hour and half drive to have the work done right. Highly recommended.

I had been having trouble finding someone to work on my bike. And then I discovered Retro Wrench, which specializes in older bikes. But was my '99 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 vintage enough? Sure, Chad said when I called; bring it by. I've taken it by a few times now. I've found the work to be great and the rates to be fair. Far as I'm concerned, these guys are aces.
Robert Huffman
Chad the Owner is easy to deal with and is a honest man. If you have something old school and need it repaired or restored he's the guy to know!!!
