I can’t say enough how fantastic the salespeople are at the Union Square location NYC. So very knowledgeable, professional and personable (but without being pushy). Over the past couple of weeks, I have been in there numerous times and was helped by various salespeople as I was looking for a replacement for a mattress (that wasn’t working out) that I bought over Labor Day weekend at a different mattress firm location (Westchester). At one time or another, Lynda, Ogo and Rvan (sp?) all separately spent A LOT of time with me during my various visits going over mattress options for a replacement for which they wouldn’t make any commission. Through this process, I learned (from a completely different mattress firm location in the city) the preferred method is for you to do the exchange through the store location where you purchased the original/first mattress. But, when I finally decided on a replacement, I had difficulty with the original store, so I went back to the Union Square store and Lynda was professional and gracious enough to handle the transaction for me. I can’t thank her and everyone else at the Union Square enough for helping me finally get a new mattress picked out and the exchange transaction completed. He was very attentive and patient, he took his time explaining the pros and cons of the different products within our budget. At no point in time did it feel like we were being rushed to make a decision. His priority was making sure we were happy with our purchase. Truly a pleasurable experience.

First off let me say that this was me and my fiancé‘s first experience buying a mattress together. I am almost 6 months pregnant and needed a mattress that I would feel comfortable in and help with my ongoing back pain. Walking into this we were both skeptical and had our guard up about our budget. But let me tell you…And it winded up being such a pleasant and wonderful experience. We got there early and Christopher, who is also the GM, opened up the doors with open arms and asked us immediately what we were looking for. He listened to what we wanted, listened to what we needed, asked if we had any health issues and showed us some products that fit what we desired and would ultimately help alleviate those health concerns. He didn’t try to oversell us and he didn’t try to manipulate our decision. He informed us about the mattress, showed us why they were rated the way the were and gave us time to make the choice ourselves. Which we both appreciated very much. He showed us the products varying in quality and technology and we were allowed to test them out to see if we loved them. After trying many mattresses we found our perfect forever mattress, and we also were introduced to a frame that allowed us to have a massager and also manipulate the height of the back board and where our feet were. It was such a wonderful experience that we would recommend Christopher, the manager that dealt with us, and this establishment to anybody that we know in the future. When all is said and done we left with a smile, shook his hand and never felt better about a purchase in our lives. We just want to say that we thank the Mattress Firm at Union Square and their manager Christopher for having the time and patience to show us our forever mattress. We can’t wait for it to arrive in our home tomorrow.

Overall, I had a great experience purchasing a mattress here. The associate, Ronald Ferguson, was extremely helpful in providing me with an understanding of the different varieties of mattresses and their corresponding features. He was knowledgable, kind, and patient which made the process very smooth. I was able to try out a number of mattresses to narrow down to the one I ultimately felt best in. From there, arranging delivery was straightforward. The process as a whole was made easy for me and I left the store feeling good about the purchase.

Mattress shopping is something that has caused me anxiety... I don’t even know where to start. What mattress is best for me? I have no comparison to judge with. Shopping with Ronald Ferguson was absolutely the most friendly and helpful experience I could have had. He was well educated on every product, and was able to point is in the right direction, step by step, to the right bed and frame for us. Even down to the pillows and sheets! He didn’t treat us like we were clients to have products sold to, but rather, as people and humans with feelings and stories of their own. I felt comfortable and heard and cared for, something I deeply appreciate in a sales experience. I didn’t feel like I was being led through with a script— I felt like I was being cared for. I’d been nervous about making such a large financial investment in my sleep, and those anxieties were quelled quickly working with him. I would recommend anyone to come into this location and work with him and the others on his team. 10/10, A+ experience and service.

I had such a good experience here I still can't believe it. I took my elderly mother to the Union Square Mattress Firm location for an inexpensive mattress prepared for the usual ultra-hard sell, and instead we had one of the best sales experiences of my life with Ron. He was pleasant, helpful, and didn't try to up-sell at all. He asked what we were looking for, actually paid attention, then started us with the most inexpensive model, and presented it as a legitimate option. We tried the model one level up, my mother liked it, and he didn't push from there. He was also very helpful and patient with my mother, who uses a walker and moves slowly. His assistant/co-worker Chauncey was also very nice and helpful. It was what shopping for a mattress (or anything else) should be and never is. And yes, I realize this sounds over the top, but I was just so shocked by it. Highly recommended.

When purchasing something like a mattress, I usually go to a store with or consult my parents. I hadn’t this time, but felt as though I had. Marcia at Mattress Firm talked me through mattresses as I tried them and was immediately sold on one in particular - no parent consult or anything. Amber and Ogo were super helpful at the Union Square location as well as Stephanie at the 7th Avenue and 15th Street location. It took 3 visits to 3 stores, but everyone was very patient and helpful. We didn’t feel pressured at all and the employees were all very knowledgeable about the product. Mattress Firm is an excellent option for hybrid, coil and memory foam. We ended up with a Sterns and Foster and can’t wait for our new mattress to arrive tomorrow.

Bad sales experience saved by good sales experience. Entering MattressFirm at Union Square, I was assigned Chris, a salesperson who proceeded to pull the worst behavior I expected of a mattress salesman a/k/a used car salesman— evasive answers, high pressure tactics, no patience. I was buying a full-sized mattress (upgrade from a twin) for my 15-year-old daughter who doesn’t weigh that much, but wasn’t sure if she liked foam, or coils and didn’t want a bed-in-the-box experience, but wanted to try/experience firsthand the mattress. I told Chris that maybe we were looking for a hybrid (foam and inner springs) and that my budget was under $600. He said that I couldn’t get anything under a thousand dollars. While that may be the case, he refused to show me anything but two mattresses. Each mattress he showed me was over $1000, and when I said wasn’t sure, he walked away in under 10 minutes, saying that was all there was — .and that I had better make a decision right away because the price that he quoted was a full-bed-for-a-twin price that would end by the midnight that evening (Labor Day). Luckily, I observed another woman and her teenage son purchasing a mattress with a salesman who was willing to show the sale items. I eventually ended up buying one of the sale mattresses from Marcia, who listened to my purchasing requirements — and the experience ended up pleasurably. Mattress shopping shouldn’t be like it was in the old days - with pushy, derisive salespeople.

I also bought a pillow that stays cool and a mattress cover that is hypoallergenic and waterproof. The quality of the mattress is superior. The pillow and mattress cover are high quality, as well. We had a wonderful experience here -- Evonne was incredibly helpful and saved the day for us! We had already purchased a mattress somewhere else, but they told us after waiting one month that it would further be delayed another month. We were able to find the comparable mattress at Mattress Firm. Not only did they match the price, but could deliver it in 48 hours. The VIP service was great too, they delivered everything as they said they would and removed the old box spring.

This is like my 6th mattress from the mattress firm. They always have something comfortable and reasonable so my purchases are always super easy. Do yourself a favor upgrade your mattress when the time comes. Your sleep quality is super important. It's a third of your day.

As many people know, moving in NYC can be very chaotic and last minute. I was shopping for a mattress (preferably with delivery within 2 weeks) and had the privilege to work with Chris Pitino. I wasn't sure about purchasing a new mattress so I went to the store with a lot of questions. Diamond Coles patiently answered my questions, showed me a variety of mattresses, and spoke with me about my particular sleep concerns while keeping my budget in mind. I really appreciated that Diamond was patient as a I vacillated between mattresses, knowing that getting a new one is a big decision. I've now been sleeping on my new mattress for a few days and doing great. I'm so glad I went to the store instead of relying on online services, and I received great help at Mattress Firm with Diamond Coles. The delivery service was also on-time, friendly, and professional.

Reggie was patient with me as I came in off the street on a whim. I know I am going to move, but just where, is not 100% certain yet. He talked me through various options- and I needed them- I hadn't bought a mattress in ten years! He answered all my questions and provided me a number of options within my price-point. They had extended their memorial day sales through this week so I got a great deal. To lock in the price I left a deposit down and will come in to pay the rest next week. Best part is, they can hang on to it until I have a definitive place I'd like to move it to, and if I change my mind, that deposit is refundable. I highly recommend getting your mattress here. Had pretty good service there. I feel some people are not comfortable walking in and talking with the sales guys if you have a problem. I bought a bed, and it was not to my liking. I called the guys that I wanted to do the exchange, and he really didn't give me the time of day on the phone. So I went in and talked to him instead. Got bed exchanged, which is a nice policy they have, and didn't have to pay anything more. I tried to get free delivery but they would not budge on that factor. Whatever. Now I have a bed that is comfortable.
