Walked in for cabinet locks the younger southern guy was very knowledgeable And friendly and had us in and out ...there was another customer who was getting into it with older man made it tense but the first guy was able to smooth things over I would come again very old shop would be 5 stars of not for other customers behavior

My 5 year old son wants to be a locksmith. I took my son into their shop and with welcoming arms Nathan , Dana and other staff invited us in and gave us a tour. These guys are a great group of locksmith. AAAA+++

I needed replacement keys for a MasterLock padlock. Masterlock, for the record, makes this task and process horrible. Don't buy MasterLock. But Mpls Lock & Key was able to get me sorted, we're super knowledgeable, cut me 4 different types of keys (car doors, 2 padlocks, and a basic house key) in under 20 minutes, and got me out the door for under $30. I couldn't recommend this place enough after my experience. Great folks.

I had a few keys copied here today. The shop employees were helpful, pleasant, and made my keys in about 5 minutes and it was only $15. I'll go here again if needed vs. using a machine at a home store like Lowes. Thanks! :)

Amazingly fast, friendly and helpful! They made us keys to fit and old lock for a 50 year old camper. Saved us tons of money and time not having to order something special elsewhere! Had it ready for me in less than 30 minutes. Was not expecting such fast and friendly help! We will be back!

Priceless. These guys are great. Someone used my fiat 500 car key for a crowbar. Badly bent the metal part. Would not fit in the ignition or door locks. Tried tapping straight with a hammer. No luck. Googled for replacements, which ran $150! Yikes! Saw great reviews for this locksmith. Called and they were optimistic they could help. Place looks like it’s been there since the 1949s and staff all look like long time locksmiths. In the end, they tapped and filed and tapped again, until the damaged key worked again. The charge? $15. Highly recommended

Great customer service! I went in to get some extra double-sided house keys made that the previous homeowner mentioned would probably need to be special ordered. Not only did this locksmith shop have the keys I needed in stock, they cut them while I waited and 5 minutes later I walked out with all of the keys I needed.

What wonderful service. We had an accident with an E-bike battery. Key was bent and the lock would not work. Brought it in and maybe 10 minutes later it was fixed!! I am so impressed and happy that I used them. Very friendly staff, and the safety steps they have put in place for Covid-19 are great!! Thank you so very much!!

I have been pleasantly surprised at the value and quality that Lock and Key provides. They are my go-to for copies of keys (don't forget to make extras when you have an unforeseen emergency!) They even make car keys, but you may need an offsite provider for smart keys for car key programming. Other than that, the customer service is excellent. Definitely a good decision for your future!

Highly recommended. They replaced the 100 year old lock in our front door so it could match the new back door. Also got great advice from locksmith Brian about keeping the lock mechanism for the old back door, which our door guy was able to return to us. Brian was even able to replace our door bell buttons. These folks are the BEST! They just created a duplicate key for a car-top cargo carrier whose key was BROKEN into two pieces during a single turn of a frozen lock. The manufacturer could have shipped me the key but not for a month, and I walked out with 3 copies on the same day for pretty much the same cost. They were able to make this very quickly this afternoon! I was told that even if that hadn't worked, someone there can *read* the key indents/grooves (I forget the word he used). Impressive place! Definitely the place to go for your locksmith needs!

Here you can copy your original car key ! Just buy the key online for a good price if you an oil money buy it from the dealership for expensive price! Then just let these guys to copy it ! Fast service I came from North Dakota I asked the guy to do it same day he just did it in 30 minutes ! Maybe there are a better place here but I highly recommend !

Go here first! I desperately needed a duplicate made of a motorcycle key. I searched everywhere and couldn't find anywhere that carried the Yamaha blank I needed. This place had it! And they were fast and friendly!

I brought a key blank in that I bought online. The guy wasn’t comfortable cutting it because it was thicker than my old key. I figure my old key is thin because it’s been going into a lock for 11 years..... but I’m no locksmith....... (although I do have experience cutting keys, just no equipment of my own) He was really nice about it and told me to come back another day to see if Nathan could do it. This was the 4th place to find some reason that they couldn’t cut my key. He was the first locksmith to actually try to help me though. Really good service here! Apparently getting a car key that flips out of the fob (the kind almost all new cars have) cut is asking WAY TOO MUCH of the locksmiths in Minnesota. A few hours later I got it successfully cut at Apollo Locksmith in St.Paul for $5!!

After having a nightmare experience with Minneapolis Locksmiths on Hennepin Ave. I contacted Minneapolis Lock & Key Co. to complete a job replacing a lock on my business entrance. Brian came over and I was very impressed with his professionalism. He had vast knowledge which he shared and made me aware of the pros and cons of different solutions to my security needs. If I need locksmith services again, I will definitely call them and I would absolutely recommend them to others.

Every now and then you walk into a business and, before anyone even has a chance to greet you, you know that you're among experts. This place is the alpha and omega of locks. If they don't have it, or know about it, then it isn't legit. Mpls Key & Lock is the real-deal of a home-grown, local business with great customer service and supremely competent technicians. I feel lucky to have discovered them.

Specifically chose this locksmith because a friend of mine works there. However on the day I visited he was out. The two locksmiths who assisted me were generous with their time and suggestions. I needed a couple of keys copied, but the clinker was the skeleton key I needed for a building that is 110+ years old. Copying the keys was easy, but the skeleton key was more difficult. Instead of selling me a couple of keys which may or may not have worked back at home the locksmith suggested I pull the lock from the door and bring it in so they could find an exact duplicate to the key. He explained there were thousands of options for skeleton keys and wanted to be sure they had something that worked. I appreciate the honesty and suggestion as a previous purchase of a key from a larger hardware store establishment failed because the key failed to operate the lock. I have another lock that needs to be reassembled or replaced and will rely on their expertise for assistance. Even though the bus ride from my home in north Minneapolis to their south Minneapolis location is lengthy it was worth the trip. In addition to the visit here, I can stop and check out some restaurants on Nicollet Avenue. Thank you Minneapolis Lock & Key!
