Locksoctor is the place to go for any type of key issue or copying. They are particularly good at copying car keys with chips. Stopped by the Lockdoctor on Taylorsville Road to have a key made for our 2017 Toyota rav 4. Michael was super helpful and friendly. The whole process took less then 1/2 hour. I had bought my own keys online 2 for $30. The dealer charge for 1 key was over $250. Lockdoctor's charge was $80. For 2 keys. Getting keys copied can be a hassel, the Lockdoctor may the experience easy and quick.

This is my second time using Lock Doctor. They are fast and professional. I have had them copy and reprogram key fobs. They use factory keys and also work on home door locks and safes. This locally owned business is outstanding at customer service and has a cute, clean waiting area. If you were locked out of your house or car they will come to the rescue in their company van and make a new key on the spot if you need it! They are so exceptional I will be featuring the on The Lou Review.

I cannot emphasize enough how the staff at lock doctor go out of their way to be accommodating. I live out of town in Cincy and therefore logistics are a challenge for me when I'm in Louisville. The staff made an extraordinary effort to ensure they helped me out of a tough situation. I have had them make keys for 3 of my cars now as they are that good and the keys have worked flawlessly. I have a 2003 toyota Rav4 that I thought the ignition switch needed replacing. I would put the key in but it wouldn't turn and start the car. I took it to Lock Doctor and they first made a new key. The new key was all it needed. Instead of costing me over $200 for a new ignition switch, it only cost me a little over $21 to have 2 keys made. Michael was the technician and he was very nice. I told him he made my day. Not too many places where you can take something to get fixed and they over charge you for something that didn't need to be done. I value Lock Doctors honesty and friendly service. I would recommend them to anyone.

It's a dark, rainy night. You've had a stressful day; all you want is the embrace of your warm, fluffy pillows and maybe a hot chocolate. But, in attempting to open your door, reality decides to gut-punch you worse than Justin Lucenic did in the 5th grade when you spilled grape juice on his Pokemon cards: the home inspector locked the wrong knob, preventing you from entering your domicile/dojo/happy place, dashing any hopes of guzzling that delicious cocoa ambrosia you so deserve. Dear Reader, this is the nightmare I found myself in tonight. But do not weep for me, because after a short call to my realtor (riddled with various four-lettered expletives) I was given the phone number to my salvation. The phone was picked up promptly, and a friendly voice tickled my eardrums, "Hello! Lock Doctor, how can we help?". The calm, kind confidence on the line was a much-needed assurance that almost instantly cured my case of the Grumpy-Grumps. I was told in 25 minutes my deliverance would come. I was skeptic: how could they get here with such haste? I'm in the middle of nowhere, so far from civilization that NASA litters my yard with rovers and probes (which is why I'm moving). While waiting, I proceeded to partake in my favorite hobby inside my car: re-living every embarrassing thing I've ever done since childhood, including the many times I spilled grape juice on people. To my surprise, Dear Reader, in 16 minutes and 26 seconds, an ethereal light illuminated my rear-view mirror, and a golden (or maybe it was green and white) chariot pulled into my driveway. A figure, silhouetted by the gleam of the van's headlights he arrived in, gallantly approached, and introduced himself "Hello, I'm Michael; heard you got locked out. I'm here to help!" but what I heard was: "Be not afraid, for behold, I bring your salvation through your lock's reckoning!" I swear, this seraph of lockpicking floated (no doubt carried by angelic wings my mortal eyes could not comprehend) to my side door, immediately working some sort of magic spell involving slivers of metal and a drill-looking thingie. This divine deity of deadbolts deftly and diligently disarmed the doorknob while kindly carrying on a conversation with me. Concerned with me staying dry, he warmly gave me the option to wait in my car while he worked his wizardry on my home's postern. In seconds, the portal to my home opened wide, and my eyes followed suit; I think I inadvertently squealed with joy in a way unbecoming of a 36 year old man. Sorry about that, Michael. I hurriedly shuffled into my home, hugging my favorite microwave with delight, and Michael collected his tablet from the van to settle my bill upon. My dear reader, you know not true fear until your heart has been gripped with the realization that you owe a heavenly entity a debt; what could a mere mortal hope to offer a celestial being for the miracle performed for him? My eyes quickly darted around the room for something, ANYTHING, that I could burn as an effigy to the benevolent savior that stood before me. Just as I was about to lose hope, he informed me of the cost for coming out to my home and saving my sanity with quick, proficient work: a small sum of United States Dollars that I could give him through another magical spell called a "credit card". The cost was WAY cheaper than expected. I profusely and repeatedly thanked Michael for coming out so latet; he made the mistake of mentioning that I could leave a review if I felt so inclined. (Something he's probably regretting if he's gotten this far into my review) St. Michael bidded me a good evening, waving as he stepped out towards his van, leaving me standing in my kitchen, awe-struck at the ease and pleasant experience of having Lock Doctor rescuing me from what could have been a very unpleasant night. So all in all, dude showed up super-quick, unlocked my door swiftly, had great customer service, and all at a reasonable price. 5 out of 5. Now, Dear Reader, I am off to enjoy my evening. Shoot. I spilled hot chocolate on my keyboard.

just bought my new car left the dealer and stop in with my 10 year old at a book store to look at some books. When we finished went out to leave and my keys would not unlock the door I called the dealership but no luck 800 number with 0ver a 30+ minute wait time so I called the company that makes my car and they gave me the lock doctors number call them they got there in a flash fixed the door lock and contacted the car lot and the car lot payed for the repair and a new key fob to work the door...... thanks Mike you are great and your company is honest and up front about cost and what you can do. thanks I will use you always

Had an issue with the lock on the front door of my business. After calling our corporate office to dispatch a locksmith and waiting for over 6 hours, I decided to reach out to a local company on my own instead. We had called a different company that was closer to come out and deal with our issue. We have an older home & the lock on the front door is not common. They apparently were not interested in the work since they offered to sell us a lock set & suggested we install it ourselves. Hence we call The Lock Doctor and Trey came the next morning. At first he was not sure it could be fixed and we discussed the issues surrounding replacing it (it would have been quite an involved process.) He took it apart, found the problem and fixed it! Very helpful lady Jennifer took our call and arranged for a technician to call the next morning. This gentleman called Trey phoned me first thing to say he was on his way and should arrive within 30 minutes. He arrived and set to fixing the problem. Purchased a used vehicle that had only one fobik key. Called around dealers and other locksmiths about obtaining an extra, was quoted prices from $175- $240, and that included a locksmith service that used a, "save over 70% off dealer prices", sales pitch. Emailed Lockdoctor, they responded within a half hour with a price at least $40 less than the dealers and $80+ less than the 70% off place. I dropped by Lockdoctor, key was made within 10 minutes, professional, good value and quick responsive service.

On my recent service visit to LOCK DOCTOR I had **exceptional customer service** All of my questions and questions I had not anticipated were answered to satisfaction and honestly. Infortunately I started with a google search and the first key & lock businesses had 3rd party phone screeners who would not provide a quote but insisted to send someone to my home expeditiously?? I dont work on desperation terms and a 3rd party phone answering service may indicate a business with no real location, establishment, etc. Fortunately my 3rd call from the google list got me to LOCK DOCTOR/Taylorsville Rd. I made a mistake and called Sparks locksmith first, because they were the closest. I was out in the cold, and wanted fast service . They didn't say what the cost would be, while on the phone . When the tech arrived, the first thing out of his mouth was" $150. for service call,and $79. to open yor car"!! There was a heated discussion about his ethics. I'm old and he thought I was going to be a push over.Surprise!!! After he left I called Lock Doctor ,and Jennifer told me up front that the run would be $45. Lock Doctor's tech was very cordial an funny. Great people, and very ethical. Can't say enough good about them. Do business with them, you won't regret it. Have a blessed day

Went and got an oil change and handed the service crew my keys. When it was time to leave I attempted to start my car and then my ignition key broke off the fab. I quickly called Ford and they rudely told me they like not be able to service me today because of an office birthday. I then looked up key technicians and came across Lock Doctor. Even with it being 15 minutes to closing they allowed me to drive all the way from Clarksville Indiana to Jtown and come in after 5 so I can safely drive this weekend. Huge thanks to Jennifer and Michael who went above and beyond for me. I highly recommend coming here if you ever have key problems!

Great company! Michael came out and it took probably 10 minutes, 15 minutes at most, and I had a replacement key and at about half the cost of what it would have cost to tow the car to the dealership and get a replacement key from them. Would highly recommend and would definitely use this company again if I manage to misplace another key or even if I just need a second key.

What an awesome company with GREAT customer service. I contacted the Lock Doctor first just trying to find someone to replace lost car keys. Boy, did I luck out on the first try! Lock Doctor responded quickly letting me know that they didn't service my area, but if I was willing to come to their Louisville, KY location, they would be glad to help. So, that's what I had planned to do. However, before I could even arrange this, they contacted me with an option that let me meet them much closer. The time involved for service was minimal even though they were performing work for another customer as well. Very professional! I would highly recommend the Lock Doctor !

Vince called me about 30 minutes before his arrival to let me know he was on his way. He was extremely professional and quick. We ordered 3 locks re-keyed to match an existing key because I was having trouble twisting a digital keypad knob to lock and unlock the deadbolt. He was able to determine what the problem was and fixed it on the spot for free! I thought the problem was arthritic hands but Vince (my hero) made the mechanism move as smooth as silk. Lockdoctor was truly a life saver in my situation. This review has to begin with a previous story. I bought two keys from Amazon for a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country and tried to program them myself to no avail, as you needed 2 working keys to reprogram additional keys. And today, the original key I had for my van broke. My van was reading bad key in front of Derb E Cigs on Taylorsville Road, and would not turn over for anything. After getting the run-around from other locksmiths, I called Lockdoctor and informed them of my situation. The lady who was on dispatch got me connected with a technician who would arrive shortly after our conversation (she was incredibly nice and understanding). Vince arrived to help me out and promptly cut and reprogrammed both of my extra keys to get me out of Derb E Cig's parking lot. I truly am grateful for Lockdoctor promptly addressing my urgent issue and taking care of my situation. My home was broken into 3 weeks ago at 3:30 am. All they managed to get away with (thanks to my good boi doggo) were my keys laying out on the table. They ran, stealing my car in the process. My car was recovered with minimal damage on 7/2. The keys were not with it. I called a local locksmith and the tech was rude and completely disinterested and quoted me an astronomical price. He said that they couldn't get to til Monday 7/6. Then I called Lockdoctor and Jennifer answered the phone. What an Angel! Not only pleasant, but full of empathy and understanding. I contacted Lock Doctor yesterday morning via their website contact form with a need to have my home’s residential locks re-keyed as quickly as possible. My home is an older home with different lock types that weren’t previously keyed alike and we had trouble accommodating this need with previous locksmiths. The Lock Doctor representative, Gail, reached out to me very quickly and scheduled Ryan to be on-site later yesterday afternoon. Pricing was simple and competitive. Ryan arrived, as scheduled, quickly removed the existing locks and rekeyed them from his van, as requested with zero issues while also providing 6 well-made keys for the newly-keyed locks. Lock doctor was awesome! They showed up quick when someone locked us out of our house (either me or my wife). Michael was professional and quick about getting us into our house! I lost the only car key I had to my car. A quick search on Google and I found Lock Doctor and from all of the positive reviews, decided to give them a call. From the person I first spoke with on the phone to the tech (Michael, I believe...) who showed up at my door; I was greeted with friendly, professional people who genuinely seem to love what they do and the people they serve. Not to mention they were quick with their work and much cheaper than having the same work done at the dealership. Will definitely be using them for any future locksmith needs!

Long story short... My ignition lock cylinder failed on my car in the beginning of April 2015. My car was towed to a mechanic who said they were going to work on it ASAP. A week later, they said they didn't have time. So my car was out of service for a week with 0 attempt to repair. Fortunately, the key was able to be turned and I was able to drive me car as usual (had to wiggle with the key every time). I contacted LockDoctor and talked to Michael (polite and professional) about the problem. He looked into it over the weekend and Corrie (sp) contacted me in the beginning of the week to schedule for the service. Michael arrived on time in his converted Ambulance. He was able to swap our the part within 30 minutes (luckily he didn't have to drill it). I think the price was reasonably but I highly valued the professionalism of everyone that was involved. Back to the mechanic mentioned earlier, he won't be getting my money from now on. This could've been an easy cash into his pocket and new customer.

I have 2015 fusion se and i don't had the key for it. i called cook's locksmith, they asked me $264 dollars, i said OK, They called me next day and they told me i have to have two keys to program $393, I said fine do it, she called me after two hours she said " I made mistake, two keys $460. it should be $530 we will do it for you for $460". I said NO, I went to the ford service, they asked me $175 each keys needed two, $90 for programming and i had to tow it another $60. Total was $500. I found lock doctor they ask me $225 when i called them 8pm. They ask me $50 deposed, they said after tomorrow. next day she called me from lock doctor, she said we can do it today if you have time. 2 hours later two gays came and they give me two keys in 35 min. i saved $275 and 4 days they are very, very professional. I never call some body for key...

I have never, ever, ever in my life had better customer service ANYWHERE! Today I put my 19 month old in her car seat and threw my keys in the front seat (I usually don’t do this, but did this time). I shut the door and walked around to the drivers seat and heard my car lock up before I got there. MY HEART DROPPED. I locked my baby in the car in 90 degree weather!!!!! I called lockdoctor FREAKING OUT and crying. I was BEGGING for him to hurry, telling him I thought I was gonna have to break my window in to get her out. He not only left RIGHT AWAY, he called me on the way and calmed me down by asking how she was and comforted me. When he got there, it took him about 10 seconds to open my car. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, lockdoctor. Not only did you save me from replacing a window that would’ve costed me a small fortune, you saved my baby girl. I was locked out of an old cabinet after a recent move. I had borrowed a skeleton key from my grandmother and got that key stuck in the lock. Scott opened the cabinet likely split and the key was found in the cabinet (score!). Unfortunately, my grandmother's key was broken, but Scott saved the day by grinding down another skeleton key (fingers crossed it works!). And it cost less than what I had expected (fist pump!). I will definitely use lock doctor in the future and recommend to family and friends!
