I called Nonstop Locksmith after a house guest took an uncomfortable amount of time to return my house key. They came out in less than 24 hours on a Saturday night no less! Their rates are very fair ($35 service call, $30 per lock re-key). The technician even took the time to explain how our locks worked and what might be a better solution down the road. Our technician was clean, professional, well spoken, educated and punctual. Basically the opposite of every other service trade that comes to your home. We will be upgrading every lock in our house soon with Nonstop Locksmith.

I was in a jam when I broke my last key that ended up stuck inside one of my Slick locks to my work van. Fortunately I had one of the three slick locks also referred to as puck locks off the vehicle where I walked into to Nonstop Locksmith and Gloria happily helped with reproducing replacement key in a timely fashion. I was beyond happy when she explained she can replace key without changing the pattern so it can work once the broken piece is removed from lock on vehicle. I will add that once broken key was removed the replacement key worked like new. I would highly recommend Nonstop locksmith.

Updated: we realized we had an issue with a common lock not fitting a neighbor’s key.. I emailed Nonstop Locksmith back at 7pm and by 1pm the next day they had it fixed! Jose quickly got back to me in the morning and then sent Bobby back out. Bobby was over the top nice on fixing the issue without charging us and making new key sets for all neighbors. We will only be using Bobby and Nonstop Locksmith for all future needs! Amazing customer service. First experience: Great work and customer service! I would 100% recommend to anyone in Chicago and I would personally use again on our building’s next issue. Edwin was such a quick communicator via email after I submitted for a quote. He answered all of my questions and scheduled the tech visit for when worked best for us within two days. Bobby, the tech, was onTime, professional and did quality work. We needed our building front door latch completely fixed and he went above and beyond when he saw how the door wasn’t shutting well on its own. He took time to shave down the door frame and explain everything to me. Then he also completely took out an old door handle we were having issues with in the garage and installed a new one. Lastly, he noticed our gate could use a new latch and threw that in even after the quote. I would call again 100%! Highly recommend!

Alex was great at installing my doorknob lock even though it was a bit tricky due to problems with the original issues with the door. He took the time to undo parts from the door that were improperly installed or had just worn out due to normal wear and tear. He was extremely courteous, respectful and resourceful. I've used Nonstop for many years for both of my apartment buildings and they are a good company. The locksmiths are knowledgeable and they stand behind their work. They just put in a new lock along with a new bracket (the part that engages with the lock). The space where the bracket went was too deep. The locksmith (Bill) spent a great deal of time installing a new bracket using a shim and extra long screws to be sure it would hold in place. I was very impressed with how conscientious he was.

Great first experience at Non-Stop Lock. Needed some keys made and this business was close to my work. Jonathan helped me out at their Madison location. He had great customer service and attention to detail. He showed me that one of the keys I needed copied had odd grooves on it from the manufacturer, and I told him that I had actually had trouble getting it copied successfully in the past, and always assumed it was because it was a little bit bent. He said he’d pick the closest key that they had, and comped me that particular key just in case it didn’t work out! How sweet. Apparently they do doorknobs and installation and everything here. He examined the existing lock mechanism (mortise deadbolt) and said that they were good so only the lock cylinder needed to be changed -- I really appreciated that he didn't try to upsell. He had installed a high security Mul-T-lock cylinder in the existing mechanism in no time, and gave me a quick demonstration and made sure I was familiar with the new system. He also examined the door and the hinge screws and gave me good advice. Overall, I appreciated their promptness and their professionalism. I would definitely work with them again.

My friend got locked out of her condo. I was dropping off important documents and I told her I would be right over. I got there sooner than expected. My friend rushed and put her coat over her pj’s and slipped on her house shoes and grabbed her car keys instead of her house keys. What a mistake, I saw the terror in her eyes and I felt so bad. The young lady was very professional, kind and offered outstanding customer service! She explained she would check how long it would take for a technician and she said about forty minutes to an hour but she offered another solution; she would check on another locksmith closer. She placed us on hold and made the call. The new Locksmith called us and stated he would be there in fifteen minutes. The technician arrived and introduced himself as David. He literally got there, and in ten minutes the door was open! I cannot tell you how happy we were for my stupid mistake. Customer service is lost in our world today, but David and the NonStop Locksmith young lady, with the kind face, and curly long dark hair proved that the customer comes first. It was so refreshing just knowing they never made us feel uncomfortable about getting locked out! I even went back to NonStop to get spare keys made, so we would not make that mistake again! I can honestly say, on a scale from 1-10 they get a 10+++++++!

Had a duplicate made of a SC19 key which was very easy. Turned out that I did not in fact actually need a SC19 key and locksmith cut me a SC19 key and another basic key which looks identical and is of normal thickness. For guidance, the blanks of a SC19 key are thinner. In any case, both keys actually work so that was good to know. Going forward I will save myself the headache of trying to find an SC19 key copy of this key. Thank you Nonstop Locksmith!

We had been struggling to find someone to come do what we thought would be work outside of Nonstop Locksmith's capabilities for our front gate. As an interim solution, we had them come out to at least get the gate latching and locking until we could address the larger problem. Ian, the technician who came out, proposed a more comprehensive solution that actually solved our larger need! He was able to do all the work during the visit with the exception of installing a door closer which was out of stock until next month and will be installed then. Our troublesome front gate has been an ongoing problem and I'm hopeful Ian's industrial strength parts replacement and additions will finally solve our gate issues. The cost was also reasonable and being able to do all the work during this visit was a bonus!

Recently, the master key to one of the main doors to our condo building entrance would not work, and of course, this was discovered at 4:45 PM on a work day, Nonstop was able to schedule Chris to meet me at my place within an hour and a half, at a very reasonable cost for after hour service. Chris not only was very friendly and knowledgeable, but also very honest and detailed the minor issue causing the lock not to work and advised on preventive maintenance we can do on our own to prevent, and that we would not require a new lock. Just moved into a new condo and wanted to be sure that we had all the locks re-keyed. Called Nonstop and they were able to come out first thing Saturday morning (2hr window between 8a-10a). The tech arrived at 9 and was to work right away. I wanted to have the locks re-keyed as they are some very heavy-duty locks that were well over $150 to replace, that also meant they were a little trickier to re-key. TIm (the tech) was able to re-key one lock that I thought for sure would need to be replaced, though it took him longer than we both expected he was able to get it done and was able to save me a lot in replacement costs. He also replaced 2 locks that were clearly not meant to be used for securing an exterior door. Tim was also kind enough to explain what he was doing me while working, which was great because I can use that info in the future. I did have to call that evening as after he left I couldn't get one of the locks to open once the door was shut (we tested it with the door open and for whatever reason the extra pressure from the door being closed caused the lock to freeze up), they sent someone out the very next morning free of charge to fix it (just needed a hidden screw and the lock cylinder to be tightened). While it was still not cheap to have to have the locks re-keyed, it was definitely cheaper than replacing them all and it saved me the headache of having to install new locks for the old ones that aren't standard.

My technician Gerardo can out to the building, he was on time and professional. I have a Aiphone video/intercom system in a 8 unit building that was not working. He did a diagnostic of our system. located the problem and was able to fix it. He also informed me that our video/intercom system was a 20 year old dinosaur and that finding replacement parts was hard to almost impossible to find, and if it broke down again he may not be able to fix it. I absolutely recommend Nonstop locksmith and would use them again.
