Great to work with! Highly recommend them for ALL your locksmith needs.

We needed locks rekeyed for our new home. We had all the locks in hand, brand new 9 total. Another locksmith in south side quoted us $450. Midwest quoted us $10/lock. Turns out most of the locks had the same key so it was even cheaper... all said and done $30! They were honest, up front and so friendly!

Needed duplicate fob keys for a 2014 Honda CRV, at their suggestion, we acquired some blank 3rd party keys via Amazon and in less than 30 minutes we had 2 more perfectly working keys at a FRACTION of what a dealership would charge! Cannot recommend highly enough to anyone having any business concerning locks or keys to seek out the professionals at Midwest Lock and Security

Great service and friendly staff! They've made a bunch of specialty keys for me, including chip/transponder keys, and keys for a vintage motorcycle. They even identified that a hardware store used the wrong blank on key for my Jeep, and re-cut it properly. They are now my go-to locksmith, and I trust them for everything.

After losing a whole ring of my keys I had Midwest come out and re-key my whole house and my truck. The person who answered the phone was very knowledgeable and was able to provide me with an estimated cost. They were the cheapest of all the places I called. I was able to be put on the schedule the next day. When the tech arrived he did a complete walk-through and gave me a total cost before starting the work. It took the guy less than 2 hours to do my whole house and the truck! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and everyone I know.

This is the most fun I've ever had getting a key made. Twice. The first time, I was in big trouble because I lost the only key to my work van. Chris took my VIN and ownership information and practically made a key out of thin air. It wasn't cheap, but have you ever tried pushing a fully loaded 1-ton box van? Worth it. The second time was after the great flood of 2018. The guys at the shop were cleaning up after getting flooded and watching Armageddon and while still helping customers and having a good time.

After Stew Hansen quoted me at 2 hours to program my key fob I had it done at Midwest Lock and they completed it in 5 minutes and was half the price.

Owner is one of the most knowledgeable locksmiths in Des Moines. I use Midwest Lock mainly for making keys so I don't get locked out of stuff when accidents happen. They were even able to make a key for my 1966 Ford Bronco when all I had was a lock cylinder.
