JR sent a technician within two days. The technician spent 4 hours to repair my car's ignition, because the key couldn't turn. I drive a 2017 VW Jetta. He removed the pin and a small piece of metal after taking off the steering wheel housing. It was a hot, sunny day and he worked hard. Cost of job was $650, but I called 20 locksmiths and only they could do it. Thank you!

Well unfortunately I got locked out of my old truck and made a call to Chitown Lock LLC, they showed up as soon as they could get to me (less than 30 minutes) and had my truck unlocked within 5 minutes. Not even the smallest scratch was left from the whole process. I highly recommend Chitown Lock to anyone who locks their keys in the car like I did.

USE THIS COMPANY!! If I could give them 100 stars, I would. Do yourself a favor, and don't make the mistake that I made. I locked myself out of my apartment in Chicago at 8pm on a Sunday night. Luckily, I had my phone with me, so I looked up locksmith's in the city. I called the first one I saw (I won't name names, but it was a national company). They told me that someone would be to my place within 15-25 minutes. Long story short, I waited an 1.5 hours (with many return calls) and never got a call from a Locksmith. I started calling around to other places & left a message for Chitown Lock. They called me back within 5 minutes & had Ken at my door in 25 minutes. The other company (that I waited 2 hours for & tried canceling) decided to show up at the same time. Ken knew how to handle things, and we sent them away. He got into my apartment with no damage to my door in less than a minute. I could not be more thankful for the how quickly and professionally they were able to handle things.

I had a terrible experience with a company I called, 24 Hr Locksmith. They wanted to charging me over 1,000 to change a lock. Because I did not agree with their price, they purposely destroyed my lock. Locking my tenants out. Chitown Lock was on time, explained the problem and fix it right away. They charges me a reasonable price. Locksmith was pleasant, knowledgeable and very friendly. I will never call anyone else to do any work for me. Chitown is the company to call without them ripping you off. Excellent service and work well done. Thank you. P.S. save yourself time and money, do not call anyone else.

Incredible response and service. Realized I didn’t have my keys. Called and the response time was less than 20 minutes after I called to the time it took for one of the locksmiths (Ken) to show up and the door was unlocked without being damaged in a matter of 15 seconds. I would give these guys 10 stars if I could. I got locked out of my house while on vacation and got home to discover this after a 12 hour flight home. I was so frazzled and these guys listened to me and sent someone over within 15 minutes. I was in my house in 2 seconds. They were very professional and got the job done quickly. Great experience. Quote was much less than other locksmiths and car dealership. The dealership told me It would take approx 1-2 hours to cut key & program. This place went above and beyond and saved us! We lost the only key to our car at Montrose beach on a summer evening, and they were one of the only companies to respond. They texted us throughout to tell us when our locksmith was on the way. We originally had challenges with the design of the car (not their fault) and thought we would have to tow it, but they kept working on it until it was resolved. They told us they would have another guy come before they made us tow it!! He didn’t have to come (thankfully) but it made us feel secure that they would do whatever it took to get our car up and running! All this was happening at 10-11 at night. They got out here, they took care of it even when it was difficult, and didn’t leave us having to tow our car. I am VERY thankful to them and would call them in any future situation.

I was worried getting a replacement key with a chip would be a huge headache and a million calls and thankfully my insurance worked with this company to make this an easy process for me! He arrived within an hour and half and he got straight to work. It took him about 30 minutes and he was very nice and friendly. My husband lost our key last night, our one and only key. I made several calls to different locksmiths & I had a few who asked me if I was sure on the type of key I needed. Some who were trying to charge me $350 & more plus a $100 to come & open the vehicle. JR recently helped us re-key a 3 flat to have a master key system. He was great to work with from start to finish. He's easy to talk to, explains his prices clearly as well as your options, and is good at communicating promptly. He planned to come out just for an estimate but since we'd talked previously, we ended up just doing the work that day. I appreciated his flexibility in helping us get the work done in the timeframe we were looking for. He is a skilled technician who has a fully service work van. His prices were also very fair and some of the most reasonable we encountered after getting quotes.

So. It was a Saturday evening and I had keys I needed duplicates of. I started searching for places near me and the results returned where to get keys made 24 hours a day. I figured it was clickbait just for locksmith/lockouts. I called the number and got no answer but I did get a call back from JR. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only could I get the keys made, due to my close proximity to his office, JR was able to come to me. He was very reasonably priced and I'd definitely recommend him to others. All of the keys worked when I got home. Saved me an errand. He provides a very useful service and I'll definitely use him again. Great customer service!

I locked myself out of my car two times today. That's right, twice in one day. The first time I called a different company and it cost me $120. The second time I called Chitown, and JR only charged me $80. That made my mistake(s) sting a little bit less. He was also super nice and sympathetic and didn't make me feel stupid, which was very nice of him. He even offered to make me a spare key at a very reasonable price - an offer I am definitely going to take him up on since I apparently now have a compulsive locking myself out of habit. Very thankful for your service. Someone being nice to you in a frustrating situation makes your day so much better.

Above and beyond...literally. My first experience with Chitown Locks and Keys was superb. I was nervous to call, because I hadn't locked myself out of my car in at least 20+ years, and I had no idea what it was going to cost or if I was calling a reputable company. Then Junior showed up. He was friendly, extremely helpful, and FAST! I was grateful to him for not overcharging me, for actually finding me in the maze they call 55 E. Monroe, and for offering to help me figure out the problem with my driver's side door. Before he left, I made sure to add Chitown Locks and Keys to my contact list (just in case) and hurried to my appointment. Fast forward to one year later...55 E. Monroe. Would you believe I locked my keys in the car again? Except this time the car was running. What a moron. Sure enough, there was Junior in my contact list. As soon as I called him, he actually remembered who I was, and said he'd be on his way in an hour. When I told him that the car was running, he switched his schedule around, showed up in half an hour, and rescued my embarrassed self quickly and professionally. Thank you, Junior! As much as I appreciate your courtesy and over-the-top customer service, I hope I will not need to be calling you again any time soon.

Great service. My boyfriend accidentally locked his keys in the car with the key still in the ignition. We knew we needed someone right away. Called one other place, who weren’t much help at all. So we tried Chitown Locks and Keys. J.R. answered right away and showed up 5 mins. later. He was the fourth person I contacted and had the best price by 20 dollars. When he arrived he was ready to go, i have a newer model car with a missing ignition key scenario. Chitown responded to our request in a timely way and fixed the problem quickly. The technician, Demetrius, was expert at his work. In addition to getting the door open, he determined why the lock mechanism had failed to act properly, corrected the fault, did a little more to improve the lock's functioning, and volunteered to alert us if he came across a piece of hardware (vintage doorknob) that would be useful to us. It was a pleasure to meet him and have such a goodworkman at our home.

Fantastic service. Below zero, came after 10 at night. Just had a locksmith from a different company extract my broken key from the ignition in my AUDI and made me a new key. The new key was bad (just cut the key, not attached to anything), need to use pliers to turn on my car while holding the key fob next to it. He came and attached the new key to another key fob for temporary use. Didn't charge me anything. And he's now going to make me a new original key with the key fob. Just can't believe he didn't charge me for coming out (it's below zero outside). He felt bad for the shoddy service from the other locksmith who is in no way associated with him (which is on me for being desperate and not thinking straight). Awesome service, will recommend to anyone I know.

Losing an only key is a very silly thing to do but happens a lot and especially one for a motorcycle. I called JR and he was very professional and quickly scheduled something in the books for the following day. I was happy to find a person that knows how to make a key for a motorcycle. Jr did roughly come about 30 minutes late from our scheduled appointment and I did have to call him to verify his ETA but Chicago traffic is definitely the factor there. When he came, it was rather quick and he made my keys. I would say the price to make the keys for a motorcycle that doesn't have a fob(HISS) was on the high end in my opinion but I wasn't in a position to negotiate due to not having a key. Overall it was needed and glad I was able to get a key.
